„Who knew you could be so cheesy…“
Chocol x fem!reader
CW: none :) this is purest pure little fluff
AN: at the end cuz i don’t wanna spoil the oneshot
It was a cloudy November day. The Moon was barely to be seen and it was cold in the streets of Seoul.
Yet you were sweating. You stood in a small underground club, panting but grinning as heavy hiphop music blasted out the speakers. It was a smaller dance battle event but the place was crowded. In front of you the orange haired beast that was your girlfriend. But in this dancebattle she was your opponent and you weren’t going to go easy on her.
In her turn she threw every possible impressive move at you. It seemed like she really wanted to win over you. You knew that this battle wouldn’t be finished on this stage, but rather continued later in your bed in the apartment of you two. You had the deal, that whenever you two battled, the winner could control the sexy time in the evening.
Smirking you bit your lip, when she did that ground move of hers. It always made you go crazy over her and she knew it. Your girlfriend was so impressive and with every passing moment you fell in love more and more.
How can a person be so talented? So beautiful? So handsome? So gentle? So rough? So perfectly imperfect? So smart? So foolish?
She was everything at once. The whole package. And the Bonus? She was yours. Yours alone.
At the end of her turn she came to a halt before you and winked at you teasingly. Chuckling you pushed her back, by her waist. To be honest, you just wanted to feel her body in your hands for a moment. The entire day had been so hectic, so this was the first time of the day that you touched her. You felt how deprived you were. Chocol had been out with Haechi and Mini the entire day, doing god knows what.
You had a different style than Chocol, less wavy motions, less floor work. It was a hard hiphop style with krump elements sprinkled into it. And the music was yours, so that would be an easy win, you thought. Out of the corner of your eye you saw the judges nodding approvingly, but your eyes were fixed on your girlfriend. You copied her ending move and finished, standing in front if her and winking cheekily.
Chocols second turn started slowly and she had that smug grin plastered onto her face, she was planning something. You wondered what, because she had already used up all her killer moves.
A record scratch ripped you out if your thought process. Suddenly „Marry you“ by Bruno Mars was playing. Confused you looked over to the DJ, who was just grinning at you. You looked back to your girlfriend, to see if she knew what was going on. What Chocol was dancing, wasn’t a battle dance anymore. It was a Choreography.
She mixed some b-boying into her dance it seemed, as she swirled around on her knees and before you knew it, she was kneeling in front of you and was holding a black box in her hand. The music faded out. Even the crowds chatter died down. Everyone, including you, was holding their breath.
„We have been through endless battles together, on and off stage. For the past ten years you supported me through every storm and every war that i fought, especially the ones against myself. When in doubt you were always there. When we are apart i can think about nothing but the moment i will have you in my arms again. And when we fight, i am not afraid, because i know in the end it is you and me against the problem. You read me like an open book. You always know what to say and do to cheer me up. Though, if i am being honest, your mere existence makes me happy. Seeing you makes me happy. Hearing your sweet voice and laugh makes me happy. Holding and kissing you makes me happy. I want to make you happy as well… for the rest of my life i want to be the reason you smile and feel good. Please let me take care of you for the rest of my life and become my wife?“, she asked and opened the box. A simple but beautiful ring shimmered there.
The hand that had covered your mouth in shock, slowly reached for Chocol as you slowly nodded, as though you were in trance.
„Yes, oh god… yes, please.“, you whispered and the crowd erupted in cheers.
Chocol beamed happily and stood up. You jumped into her arms and quietly sobbed happy tears into her neck. Then she pulled away to slide the ring onto your finger. Gently she peppered your face in kisses.
„I love you.“, you whispered.
„I love you more.“, she whispered back.
Grinning you shook your head and pushed her playfully.
„Who knew you could be so cheesy…“
********
AN: This is how i want someone to propose to me... doesn't have to be Chocol. Doesn't have to be one of the SWF girlies... i just need a dancer gf, i suppose, so i can battle against her and have her propose to me.

Hiiiii your fics that I have read so far are literally AMAZING. Ngl your my new fav author on here my goodness those stories were making my stomach turn.
Could you please do a Tom Kaulitz 2007 smut, him and reader have to share a room unwillingly. The reader starts playing with his hair and he is low-key into it 😋 You take it from there queen because you are so creative it’s crazy.
THANK YOU SO MUCH 😘😘
"One Bed". Feat. Tom Kaulitz
YES! of course i can do this! i'm glad you enjoy my writing! i also kind of tweaked this a bit to go with another request for an enemies to lovers vibe w/ tom...honestly i love the one bed trope!! (sorry, this is coming out later than intended!!)
summary: not too long ago, you caught your (ex) boyfriend Tom at the bar with another woman. you were pretty pissed, and you still are. but you two agreed to travel together to see a mutual friend as long as you stay separated. however, you did not anticipate the room shortage...
warnings: fem!reader, use of y/n, hotel sex, p in v, unprotected, slight edging, overstimulation, use of toys, degradation (slut, whore, etc.), praise, kinda mean Tom, he's sweet sometimes though?, cervix fucking, spanking, squirting, pretty much brat taming, creampie, you think he cheated but he didn't
"What the hell do you mean there's not enough rooms?! I paid for two!" your patience was wearing thin with the poor desk attendant who claimed there was a "room shortage for the holidays". Bullshit. "Ma'am, I've already explained this to you. We overbook expecting some cancelations. It's better for business this way." The woman at the desk was making sure to keep her distance from you. Your stance looked like you were about to leap over the desk and pounce on her at any second now. "Good for business-!?" You were cut short by none other than Tom Kaulitz, your cheating ex-boyfriend, lightly grasping your arm, afraid that if he put too much pressure you might seriously swing at him. You gave him the nastiest glare, he swore it pierced his soul. "Hey, there's no use in yelling at this poor lady. Let's just go to our room. It'll only be a night. I can sleep on the floor." He spoke in a gentle tone, this managed to ease your nerves a bit. You removed your sprawled hands from the desk, giving the desk attendant one final glare. You were also not too thrilled that he took her side. You grabbed your key and made your way to the elevator, Tom trailing behind.
You and Tom hadn't spoken a word since getting to your room. It truly was a small, one bed hotel room. Right when you set your bag down on the (quite hard) couch, you flopped down onto it with a exaggerated groan. "Okay I think you need to calm down. I get it, you would rather not be doing this. But can't you take a day to-" You quickly cut him off, still angry with him. You were angry he had the nerve to tell you of all to "calm down". This made your anger bubble back up. "Calm down? Calm down?! How am I supposed to calm down when you're here? How am I supposes to calm down after what you did to me!? I don't want to fucking hear it from you. Go back downstairs and sleep with the little hotel girl from earlier since you like to take her side so much. Not that you ever took my side." Okay, admittedly you were being pretty petty, but you didn't care. Not when the events that transpired were so recent. About 1 month ago you caught Tom at a bar giggling with another girl because apparently he hadn't realized that's the bar you were having your girls night at. You screamed at him, threw a drink at his face, and hadn't spoken to him since. Tom stared at you for a second, he was trying to let you be angry at him. Because truthfully, he shouldn't have been so sneaky when he honestly wasn't doing anything wrong. He was at that bar to catch up with his brothers wife, but mentioning that fact would probably make you begin to spiral even more. He really didn't want another drink in his face. So, for now he decided to let you scream and yell at him all you wanted, even if the words you spoke couldn't be farther from the truth.
It had been about 5 minutes of you yelling, and you were now laying on the bed quite literally sobbing your little heart out. You couldn't take it, all of your pent up emotions were bursting out and making an ugly mess of you. You thought about how this was probably the reason why he decided to cheat on you. Tom just sat on the edge of the bed, lightly stroking your thigh. You apparently hadn't noticed, but your body was subconsciously leaning into his touch. Once your rapid breathing had slowed and your tears dried up leaving dried makeup streaks on your face, he finally spoke. "I didn't cheat on you." You almost laughed, "What?" He drew in a large breath before he continued, still treading lightly. "You never gave me a chance to talk. But trust me, I don't blame you. Please hear me out on this." Once he had gotten your silent sign of approval, he slowly continued, "That woman? That was my Bills wife. She was just in the area, and I wanted the chance to catch up with her. Ask her how things were going. All I talked about was you, every single question she had, the answer was always you. She even recorded a video on my phone for you of her saying hi. Please, believe me. I know I shouldn't have been so secretive, I know that's my fault. But just please. Here's the video." Tom pulled out his phone to show you the video of who you now noticed was Bill's wife in that same exact bar saying hi to you, and explaining how she hoped all was well with you.
Right after the video ended, your heart dropped so low as you looked up at him it almost fell out of your ass. I mean, you had met Bill's wife before, but you hadn't gotten a good glimpse of her at the bar. Only of the back of her head. You knew she was a nice woman, and you were starting to realize that you probably should've let Tom explain himself instead of throwing a drink in his face. But when he pulled the "Baby, it's not what it looks like" line, you almost lunged at him.
This whole thing just added more on top of the emotions you were already feeling, and you began to cry again. "Tom," you shook out as you pulled him into an embrace, finally being able to feel him again "I'm sorry." You swear you had never held onto anything so tight in your life, and he was seriously about to crush you as well. But it didn't really matter. All that mattered was, yeah, you both fucked up but at least you still had each other. That night was a long night of exchanging explanations, and setting up boundaries as to how to deal with situations like this again. As well as how to work on managing your emotions...
It was getting pretty late, and you had just came out of the shower to find Tom laying down on the small couch. "Are you serious? You don't have to do that... Come sleep with me." Tom turned over to look at you, a bit surprised you could forgive so quickly. That had never been apart of your personality. But he was exempt from this, he assumed. "You sure? If you don't-" You stopped him, "I'm sure." and gave him a sweet smile. The both of you crawled into bed, and got into the position you normally get into. He placed the side of his face on your breasts and you used one of your hands to play with his hair, feeling him relax into you. He whispered out a small "I love you" that you almost didn't catch. To let him know you heard him, you craned your neck down and pulled him into a sweet kiss. Well, the kiss started sweet.
Tom had been left to just his hand, lotion, and some shitty magazines for way too long now. He missed you. A lot. What was supposed to be a simple sweet kiss now had your back to him and him aggressively thrusting his cock into you. You let out a string of moans, trying to stabilize yourself by putting your hands on his thighs. His chest was flush with your back, and his thrusts were relentless. "Tom!" He knew you loved this angle, it allowed you to feel every inch of him buried deep inside you. "Yeah? That feel good, y/n?" One of his hands came down to rub at your clit. "Think I've given you enough time to throw your little tantrum, gotta put whores like you back in their place." His minstrations had you a moaning mess, and you could already feel your orgasm flatly approaching. "Ah-! P-please!" Your pussy clenched tightly around him, a sign he knew you were about to cum. Right when your soft walls began to flutter he completely stopped all motion. "W-what?" You were confused, and you whined at the loss of stimulation. "You forget? Brats like you have to ask nicely to cum. Then I'll consider." He landed a harsh slap on both cheeks of your ass, causing you to his. "Im sorry! Please! Please make me cum!" He rubbed over both red marks, attempting to slightly soothe them before beginning his pace again. This time, he was impatient. He flipped you over onto your back, sprawling you out onto the bed before he pushed in and out of you at a fast pace. You could feel every vein on his cock at this angle, and his tip was practically brushing up against your cervix. The painful pleasure was almost too much, and you just barely remembered to ask to cum. "P-please, can I cum? Please, please please..." You were just babbling nonsense at this point, which made him laugh at the leverage he had over you. He leaned down, nipping the shell of your ear before he said "Cum for me, baby" and that was all the clearance you needed before you gushed all over his cock with a high pitched moan. All of your limbs twitched as he helped you ride out your high, your mind melting back down to earth. Your brain was still fuzzy, and you didn't catch how Tom leaned over to open the beside drawer, pulling out a small bullet vibrator. Once he waved it over top of you, your eyes widened. You obviously could think enough to understand what you were about to be subjected to, but not enough to question why it was in that drawer.
"Please" You mewled put, not sure if you were begging for him to use it on you or begging him not to. Either way, he turned it on, using it on the lowest setting as he rubbed it over your nipples. "Mh!" You let out a satisfied grunt at the stimulation being pressed to your nipples. Tom always worshipped every part of your body, and tonight he had neglected your nipples. The attention they were now receiving left you wanting more. You relaxed, parting your legs and letting the spread across the roughness of the hotel sheets. Tom trailed the small vibrator down the valley of your stomach, towards your already swollen clit. "Yeah, take it like the good slut you are. Just my cumdump, aren't you?" You nodded your head in agreement, making the best "Mhm" sound you could with how fried your brain was. You both knew this wasn't true. If you both were being completely honest, he was at your mercy. Tom pressed the vibrator up against your clit, and immediately started thrusting back into you. "Ah! Wait! T-Tom! Too much!" He laughed at you almost mockingly "You can do it. My sweet baby can do it." The way his tone could change at the drop of a hat only turned you on even more, and his sugar coated words coaxed you on to obeying him. "Ok... ok, just for -fuck- you." "Yeah, thats what I fucking thought." It didn't take too much longer for you to reach your high, and by the way you were squeezing him he knew, too. Tom decided you'd been through enough tonight and let you off easy this time. "My baby gonna cum on my cock? Come on, make a mess on me. Cum with me." Those words immediately flipped the switch inside of you, letting your pussy twitch around him and gush everywhere, making a mess all over his abdomen. Tom thrusted into you as deep as he could possibly go before cumming inside you. "Yeah, gonna take all the cum I give you." And you did, you took every last drop, squeezing him to milk him for everything he was worth.
The night ended with an exchange of soft kisses, giggles, whispers of sweet nothings, and a hot bath to ease your poor muscles. You might need a wheelchair for tomorrow.
Before you two left, Tom left a note on the bed thanking the hotel room attendant for bluffing for him, and left her some extra cash. He also apologized for the mess.
a/n: this was supposed to be released last night but I had other things going on! so sorry! but I hope you enjoyed! requests are still open, and if you've already sent one just know it's sitting in my drafts. remember to take care of yourself!

Downfall (WandaxFemReader) 1/8
18+ MINORS DNI
Warnings: Death, Mean Wanda, Mentions of Cheating, Accident, Brief Blood Description, Angst
A/n-I'm going to make this an eight part mini series enjoy!
Y/n’s POV
All I want to do is relax in my girlfriends arms and take a nap. I’ve had such a long day between paper work and planning with Nat. After spending ten hours at work correcting and filing mission reports I traveled half an hour to Nat’s house to spend an hour planning, and then another half hour home. I haven’t even had the time to eat.
I walk through our entry way to search for Wanda. She isn’t in the living room so I check the kitchen next. She’s sitting at our table with a pissed off look. “Hello my love! Are you okay?” I ask concerned by her facial expression. She looks up at me with a glare and has her head tilted to the side. She speaks calmly, it’s almost eerie to hear her speak in such a normal tone while glaring at me. “Where were you?” I look at her confused, I had told her where I was going last night. “I was at work and then after I went to sort something out.”
Her glare stays upon her face, eyes piercing into me. “And what things?” She speaks as though she is accusing me of something. I sigh knowing exactly what this is and how it is going to go. Wanda has always been afraid of me lying or doing things behind her back. I can’t blame her and I never invalidated them. Her ex, Vision, used to cheat on her and gaslight her into believing that she was just crazy for it. We have been working on this for years but nothing like this has happened in months. But lately she’s been acting strange. She questions everything I do, and I have no problem reassuring her every time she needs me too. But I also can’t help but wonder if someone else has something to do with this.
“I can’t tell you what things baby. Not yet.” A look of confusion briefly flashes across her face. “Why not, are you hiding something from me?” I try to step closer to her but she gives me a warning look so I stay here. “Kind of but it’s nothing bad I promise you it’s not what you think!” She scoffs at me. “Oh yeah? Cause I think that you left work two hours early to go to your coworkers house!” I’m not surprised she checked my location, she always does. And I have no problem sharing it with her as I have nothing to hide. “Yes I went to Nat’s house, I told you I was going. She is not only OUR coworker but also my best friend!” I would never deny it nor would I lie to her about where I am.
“Do people who are just friends go to each others house instead of home to their partners! No. It’s not even that, it’s the fact that you just won’t tell me what you were doing!” She has never thought this way about anyone that I have hung out with. I am almost certain that someone is making her doubt me. “Wands she is our friend not just mine you have known her for years. She has a wife! Not to mention I would never ever do that to you!” I try to reassure her the best I can but I don’t think it’s working at all. “Then why can’t you tell me what you were doing?!?!” She raises her voice a little which cause a small flinch from me as it came as a surprise. “Because I need it to be a surprise baby please! Can’t you just trust me after eight years?”
She rolls her eyes at me. “Apparently not, its so obvious you’re trying to hide something from me.” I feel a little hurt by her words but I brush it off. I know she doesn’t mean it, she’s just worried. But she’s said it enough maybe she is right. “I’m not hiding what you think. It’s a good thing Wanda!” None of what I say seems to be getting through to her. “Why the fuck can’t you just admit it, if you didn’t do anything then just tell me what you were doing there!” I can feel the tears starting to form in my eyes but I hold them back. “I can’t Wanda please can’t you just believe me! I’m not like him!” Her face went bitter, all the faith and trust she might have had in me is obviously far gone. “You are exactly like him! You are a liar, a cheater, and a heartless asshole!” I feel one or two tears stream down my face. “Y-you don’t mean that.” She takes a step closer to me, her voice as cold as ice. “I hate everything about you. I don’t know why I even love you.”
I stand here, still, I try to take in everything she just said. All of the thoughts rushing through my head. She hates me? She can’t be serious. I grip my keys tightly in my pocket. “Is that really how you feel?” I can hear the quiver in my own voice. “It’s what I just said is it not?” I nod and whisper a weak okay, I turn around and walk straight out the door. “What? So you’re just gonna leave now?” I am surprised by the hint of fear in her otherwise antagonizing voice. I decide not to answer her as right now I don’t think I could speak even if I tried.
I walk to my car and get in without a word being said. I put on my seat belt and start the car. I see Wanda watching me from the door but not daring to stop me. I pull out of the drive way and take off down our road. After about five minutes I allow the tears to start gently streaming from my eyes. As I continue to drive I allow myself to think of all the memories me and her have shared the last eight years. Did it all mean nothing to her? Did I mean nothing to her? I know she wouldn’t do this to me in her right mind, it isn’t who she is. But I also know that her fears are easily influenced. I know I’d do anything to get her to believe me. I’ll even let her go through my phone if she needs she has my pass code. All I know is that I need to sort things out with her and go home. It’s been about thirty minutes since I had left so she’s probably calmed down my now.
I turn the car around and start to make my way home. I need to sort this out, I need us to work. I notice all the cars flying down the road past me. Street races are very common around here especially at night when very few cars are still out. I notice suddenly that a pair of high beams are swerving between lanes. I move my car as far over as I can without being off the road. I really hate drunk driver they are so fucking careless. All of the sudden they are fully in my lane coming straight at me. Everything seems to be going to fast for me to fully react. I turn my wheel to try and get into the other lane before he rams into me head on. I am not even half way across the lanes when he speeds up faster and crashes into my drivers side door. I can feel the care flip back as I try to hold on to anything I can. It lands upright on the road between lanes. I open my eyes and see everything spinning around me. I feel something warm running down and dripping off my face. I try to look at my surroundings but everything is far to blurry for me to see. I can faintly hear people shouting and talking but it’s so distant I can’t figure out what they are saying. I try to reach down to undo my seat belt but the door is to smashed in for me to even reach it. I reach over to my glove box, feeling myself getting more and more dizzy. I open it up and try to feel around for the picture but instead I feel a box. I check to see what it is and grip it tightly while trying to find the picture. Once I find it I hold them both tightly in my hand. I hear loud sirens but before I can look to see, my eyes close once more.
The next thing I can hear is a woman’s voice. “Can you hear me?” The voice asks, all I can let out is a groan, I open my eyes only to be blinded by flashing lights. I feel myself being lifted up and then hear car doors slamming shut. I look around and notice that I am in an ambulance. “Ma’am can you tell me your name?” I nod a little before speaking. “Y/n.” I let out in a weak voice. She nods and moves around me to start connecting me to various machines in the vehicle. “Good, now I need you to stay awake for me, we are taking you to the hospital. I attempt to sit up but I am met with a sharp jolt of pain followed by the woman’s arm stopping me. I feel the items still in my hand and look over to her. “Wanda.” She looks back at me confused so I clarify. “I want Wanda.” She nods and tells me that she will be there but I need to stay awake. I nod but feel my eyes continue to grow heavy and they close again.
Wanda’s POV
As soon as Y/n leaves I sink to the floor in both frustration and sadness. What the fuck is wrong with me? Why did I do that? I can’t believe I let my insecurities get the best of me yet again. I bring my knees up to my chest and let my tears fall freely. I don’t know why I said any of it, I love her more than anything I can’t lose her. But if I do there’s only myself to blame. After sitting here for a while trying to consider what I should do. I need to call Natasha, she will know if I can fix this. She is always honest with me when I fuck up.
I pull out my phone and dial her, it rings twice and she answers. “Wanda?” She seems tired and confused. “I messed up really bad.” I hear her sigh and shuffling before she answers. “God Wanda. What did you do to her now?” I often go to Natasha for advice or to inform her of our latest fight because she is Y/n’s safe space. I explain to her everything that I had said and told her that Y/n left. Before she gets to say anything she tells me to hang on and hangs up. About five minutes later Nat comes back and seems in a rush for something. “Wanda, we need to get to the hospital now. Y/n’s there, I’ll meet you there. And with that she hangs up. My mind starts racing and my breathing becomes rapid. Natasha has always been her emergency contact but I wish they would have called me so I could at least know if she’s okay. I grab my keys and run out of the house straight to my car. The whole time I’m driving I can’t stop thinking about what could have happened. And all the possibilities rush through my head making me more and more worried. Natasha lives close so I know she’ll get there first, so I know Y/n won’t be alone.
As soon as I park in the lot I rush inside to the front desk. Sitting there is a man in semi-formal clothes. “I’m here to see Y/n Y/l/n.” He looks up at me and nods his head while typing something into his computer. “I’m sorry ma’am, she’s been put under specific clearance visitor list by the agency SHIELD.” I let out a frustrated groan knowing that must mean Nick and Maria are here. “Okay listen I work with SHIELD, I’m not an agent but an avenger and that is my partner in there I need to know her room number.” He looks up at me and raises an eyebrow before looking down again. “I’m sorry but like I said no visitors.” I sigh, closing my eyes to focus. I sort through his mind to find the room number and once I get it I run up the stairs and to her room. As I get closer I notice that Natasha, Maria, and Fury are all talking outside the room. I walk right past them and into her room.
I immediately see her lying on the bed she looks to be in really bad shape. She is hooked up to many machines that fill the silence of the room with their noise. She is covered and scratches, cuts, and bruises. Parts of her skin are stained red from blood. She looks up to me and smiles, but as soon as she sees the tears on my face her smile turns into a bit of a frown. “Why are you crying?” Her voice is quiet and weak. “I’m sorry baby, I’m so so sorry.” I muffle a sob as I rest my head on the top of hers. She grips my hand and speaks to me calmly and sweetly. “No baby, no don’t be sorry, I’m okay, we’ll be okay.” She speaks as though she has no fear of death. She has always only cared about us. “But I am sorry, for everything. I never ever meant to hurt you I was just scared. I love you so so much I don’t want to lose you.” She can tell I’m getting worked up so she grabs my hand and squeezes it. One. Four. Three. I love you. It’s always been her way of quietly telling me. I try to take deep breaths but it isn’t working. She brings my hand closer to her and flips it over. I feel her place a piece of paper, and a box into my hand and closes it. “I love you Wanda.” I hold her close as I let my tears silently fall.
I want to be able to hold her close forever, keep her here forever. But apparently that can’t happen. I am interrupted from our moment by the flattening noise of her heart machine. I step back and look at her. This can’t be possible, she can’t die, she can’t. My vision blurs as three doctors rush into the room. Two go straight to Y/n and the other rushes me out. I am forced to stand out in the hall while the doctors work. I look down into the items in my hand. One is a photo, it’s of me and her on a trip we took two years ago. She was on my back with her arms in the air and I was holding her legs looking up at her. I look at the box next and I open it up. My eyes widen at the beautiful ring in the box. There are four green gems across a thick band. It shines nicely in the purple velvet lined box. It is a simple yet beautiful design. Just how I like.
Once I look up from the box I notice everything has settled down. The door to her room is closed and the doctor is talking to Natasha who has a single tear falling down her cheek. Once he walks away she turns to me with the coldest look I have ever received. “This is your fucking fault.” She takes a step closer. “The past eight years she has done everything for you! She has dealt with your shit time and time again because she loved you. But you just kept breaking her! She never did a single thing wrong and yet you blamed her for everything! I’m not one to wish death upon people but it sure as fuck shouldn’t have been her.” I see two more tears fall from her eyes before she turns and walks away. The other two follow behind her without a word.
She’s right though, the love of my life is dead. And it’s my fault.

➴ author's note: omg this is my first time actually publishing something i wrote. the things i do for you, connor bedard. hope u like it <3
“SOMETHING tells me I shouldn’t be surprised to see you like this, but I still am.” You hear his voice before you can actually see him, which makes you wipe your tears fast and sigh loudly.
A girl can’t cry to her favorite Marvel movie anymore.
“You should try minding your own business. It’s super fun,” you say, putting the bowl of popcorn down and pausing the movie.
“Why would I even do that? Minding yours is way funnier.” Alex says, putting his luggage on the floor and sitting right beside you. You fight the urge to hug him tightly just because you don’t want to admit you’ve missed him a lot.
“What are you even doing here?”
He scoffs. “Last time I checked, this was my house.”
“You know what I mean,” you roll your eyes. “What are you doing here? You weren’t supposed to be back in Illinois until tomorrow evening.”
“Well, after yesterday’s W, we thought it’d be great to be back earlier,” he grinned and you sighed, again. You knew what that meant.
Winning equals partying in Hockey world and usually, the party happened at Alex’s house since he had a big ass house, no wife, no parents, no kids. Just an eighteen year old sister living with him before moving to her own apartment.
Having a somewhat famous brother wasn’t exactly in your to-do list but here we are. After Alex joined the Blackhawks, everything went upside down in the best way possible. For him, you mean.
For you and my parents it meant going to every game, every party, every important dinner. And even though you’re not complaining at all, it was so much in such little time. So you’re still getting used to it.
But Alex won’t make it any easier. Every time they win and come back home, it’s a party. Your parents stopped showing up after the first one— they opened the door of the guest room (where they were staying) to find Donato fucking some random girl. It wasn’t exactly his best moment, you’ll give him that.
“What time does it start?” You ask, starting your movie again.
“Eight p.m. sharp. Bedsy will be here so you can be weird together or whatever y’all teenagers do.”
“You’re just five years older than me, dumbass. Just because you bought your own mansion at twenty-two, doesn’t mean that you’re that old.”
“Whatever. The point here is: y’all weird.”
As much as you’d like to prove him otherwise, he isn’t one hundred percent wrong.
You and Connor met two years ago, when he and Madi were still living in Sweden. Despite what everyone thinks, some NHL agents already had their eyes on Connor, so they’d casually invite him (and he always brought Madi with him) to games, including the games your brother would play.
You befriended his sister quickly because, hello, she’s just the best human being in the entire world (hopes Chloe doesn’t hear you) and suddenly, going to his games wasn’t that bad anymore.
One day, Madi couldn’t go to one of the games, so when you went to chat with her, you just found Connor, chilling by himself.
“Hum, hi?” You remember saying, very embarrassed and awkward. You weren’t afraid of him, you had spoken to him before and he is friendly, despite what everyone else seems to think. He’s just. Quiet.
“Hi, Ellie,” he answered, taking his eyes off the rink for once. His face was like always: expressionless. “Madi couldn’t make it today. I’m the only Bedard you’ll have today, I’m afraid.”
You laughed, because, what, had he just made a joke? Crazy. Then you sat on the seat beside him and made yourself comfortable, trying to find Alex in the sea of big, aggressive men.
That was kind of the beginning of your friendship. Just like that, you talked his ears off during the entire game, complaining more than speaking, really. You’re not much of a calm person when it comes to game watching. And whenever you thought he wasn’t listening, you’d stop talking, and then he’d look at you and say things like:
“So? Where’s the rest of the story? I’m interested in why you think The Incredible Hulk is the worst Marvel movie.”
And then, when he joined your brother’s team, you were more than happy. He and Mads got to be closer and you could hang out with her whenever school and her job let you.
“I don’t think we are weird. At all. We’re just not excited about partying every single day like you are.” You replied, trying to distract yourself from the fact that Natasha Romanoff had just died on screen.
It should have been that fucking Clint asshole. Fuck him.
“Every time I throw a party here, you both just stay on the couch talking and talking, not a single drink in y’all’s hands. I get that you can’t really drink yet but at your age I was getting shit faced whenever I had the chance.”
“That isn’t the brag you think it is but fine,” He flipped you off and you smiled. “Can I invite Chloe?”
“I mean, I invited fifty guys to our house, you might as well invite your annoying girlfriend as well.” He used that one tone he always used whenever he’s annoyed and it made you roll your eyes, again.
“She isn’t annoying.”
Even though it isn’t a lie, it felt like one. Ever since you started hanging out with the players of Alex’s team more, she started to act weird. And she’s kind of obsessed with Bedard. But then again, half of the hockey community is so.
No biggie.
“Whatever, loser,” he slapped your forehead and you hit him with the pillow you were resting your head on. “You stink.”
“You fucking stink. Go change into something that isn’t a suit, weirdo.”
“I will, but not because you asked me to. I was going to do that anyway.”
You smirked. “Of course you were.”
—
EVEN though you didn’t plan on staying up the entire night like your brother and some of his teammates— the majority of the guys your brother invited were still in his twenties like him, so they don't have big responsibilities like kids or wives or husbands—, you still dressed up a bit.
Thankfully this isn’t anything fancy, so you just put on a black, silky, maxi skirt, a corset-like tube top and low heels. Since you got lazy and ended up listening to music instead of getting ready, you had to put your hair in a slick bun because it was already eight and you still weren’t ready. So, slick bun it is.
Your phone rings and you pick it up, reading Chloe’s texts:
You sent a quick nice and put on some perfume. It’s not long until you hear a quick knock on my door, followed by a blonde mess that you like to call your best friend.
“Hi, oh my God, you look stunning.” You say as soon as you both make eye contact, because Chloe’s just so freaking beautiful.
“I know,” she replies, sitting on your bed. “How are you?”
“I’m fine. Not really in the mood for partying though.”
“Are you kidding?” She slaps her knees with her hands, a smile on her face. “You have a house— no. Not a house. A mansion full of hot hockey players and you’re not in the mood for partying? What do you mean!”
You shrug. “You know I’ve never really cared about hockey. I don’t see the appeal, if I’m being honest.”
It’s true. Even before Alex made it to the NHL, you always thought hockey was just… alright. You don’t get why people get so excited to see some guys throwing a puck and skating. The fights are always fun to watch, though.
“You’re crazy,” she says, and you think she’s probably right. “Is Bedard coming?”
“I don’t really know. Maybe?” You replied, turning around and facing her. “Maybe yes. He’s on the team after all and he did score the last goal.”
“So. I need you to do something for me.” Chloe replied after a minute or two, and just by seeing the crazy look she has on her face, you knew that this isn't a really good thing.
You sigh. “What do you need?”
“I need you to introduce me to him.”
“Him?” You ask, confusion taking over your entire face.
She rolls her eyes. “Connor! I need you to introduce me to Connor!”
You don’t know why but her sentence makes your heart beat faster. You don’t like this feeling or her words either. But you just swallow your discomfort down and try to keep your expression neutral.
“Bedard? Why do you want that? You’ve never even acknowledged him in the past two years.”
“Well, I was waiting for him to make the move, but he’s so oblivious sometimes,” she says, sighing. “Honestly, I thought he liked you. You know, with how close you both are.”
You almost choke on your own spit. “Connor? Liking me?”
“I know it sounds crazy, but you can’t really blame me though. You’re all over each other and you even sit on his lap during movie nights.”
True. But also, not true.
“Well, I do that with all of my friends. I mean, I would do that if I had more friends. It’s not really my fault I just have you, Madi, Alex and Connor. I can sit on your lap if you want to—”
“Ew, not happening,” she fake-gags, making you laugh. “Anyway. Recently he said in an interview that he is single and not interested in anyone in particular. Soo, that’s my chance!”
You don’t know if you’re more weirded out with the fact that she watched one of his interviews or with the fact that she wants to be with him. And what makes you feel even weirder is the fact that you actually can picture them as a couple.
Chloe is your perfect WAG: blonde, rich, tall, good on cameras and gorgeous, even for an eighteen year old, fresh out of high school. She’s always at random, fancy parties because she says college isn’t for her, so she needs to find a rich, hot husband for herself.
You’ve never really said anything about that because you don’t think relying on a man to provide for you is the right decision. You want to get into college and continue to study so you can make your own name, and now that Alex’s known, you will need to work twice as hard to make sure you’re not getting anything just because you’re his sister.
But thinking about Chloe trying to make Connor her husband?
Yeah. It made you feel terrible.
“Yeah, I don’t know about that, Chloe…”
“Wait, what?” Something like anger flashed through her eyes. “You don’t think I have a chance with him? Why?”
“No, it’s not that, it’s just—” God, why were you feeling like this? It’s just Connor. A guy you met two years ago. “Connor’s really closed. We’ve never talked about relationships. I don’t know how to approach him.”
The smile is back on her face. “That’s fine. You just have to tell him hi, this is my best friend, chloe. And I’ll do the rest.”
You had a bad feeling about this. And it probably showed in your face because Chloe was frowning, again.
“Ellie,” she said, slowly. “Do you like him? Is that why you don’t want to introduce us?”
You were the one frowning now. Liking Connor? Seeing him as anything more than a friend? No, what? Crazy. Chloe was nuts. You just didn’t want him to get hurt. That was all.
“What?! No. No, of course not!” You said, feeling hot. “Connor is just a friend. Like you.”
“So?” Chloe said, quietly. “You will introduce us, right?”
“Yes,” you replied, without hesitating this time. “Please, be nice to him.”
“Oh, I am going to be nice,” she smirks. “I don’t know about the things I’m planning on doing with him though.”
She laughed out loud and even though you didn’t find anything funny, you laughed too. Even if your heart felt like it weighed more than the whole moon.
—
FINDING Bedard wasn’t as easy as it sounded.
Even though your brother’s house was big, it felt crowded with people. Alex said it’d only be fifty guys or so, but he forgot that those fifty guys were bulky and big, so it would feel like his house had at least eighty people there.
The music wasn’t extremely loud, it was just a background noise, so everyone could hear each other just fine. And boy, were those hockey men loud.
Every time one of them recognised you, they’d just shout and raise their arms, with either beer or liquor in his hands. It took you and Chloe at least fifteen minutes to get to the kitchen, so Chloe could get a drink for her and you a diet soda. You hated the taste of alcohol.
“God, at this point we’re never finding him,” Chloe mumbled, sipping on her beer and making a disgusted face. “You need to tell your brother to buy some proper beer.”
You chuckled. Despite everything Alex said, he’d probably freak out if you asked for alcohol. “I could always call Bedard. If he’s here, he’ll show up.”
“Yeah, do that. I’ll go to the bathroom real quick, and I’ll be back.”
You nodded, grabbing your phone and searching for Connor’s number. You finger just a centimeter from the screen, your heart beating fast in your chest, and you wanted to punch yourself when you caught yourself thinking I hope he doesn’t answer.
“I’m the world’s worst best friend,” you mumbled to yourself, disappointed with your own stupid brain.
“That skirt looks good on you,” you heard Connor’s voice and you looked down fast, checking to see if you had actually called him. When you found your phone still on the contact list, you furrowed your brows. “Hi, El.”
You turned around just to see Connor standing there, with his awkward smile and blue eyes. His hair was a bit longer than you remembered but it looked even better than before. He looked good.
You smiled, all that tension from before gone in seconds. “Hi, Con. I was literally just about to call you.” You raised your phone, showing it to him.
“Yeah?” He stepped closer, wrapping his arms around you, holding you close. Hugging him was something that felt so precious because he never really did it with many people, and to think you’re one of the lucky ones? Yeah. Precious.
“Yeah,” you replied, hands around his middle, your height difference making the whole thing funnier. You stepped back, looking him in the eye. “I— I need to… hum. Introduce you to someone.”
He raised his brows, just slightly. His face going all-Bedard like again. “It isn’t a boyfriend, is it?”
“No?”
“That sounded more like a question than an affirmation. Are you seeing anyone?”
“What? No,” you laughed, amused with his answers. “No, I’m not. You and Madi would be the first to know if I were, I promise.”
“Then, who is it? Last time you said you had to introduce me to someone, I had to chat for forty minutes with an old lady who thought the Avengers were real.”
“Don’t call Susy old!” You threw your arms up, still laughing. “And that day was funny as fuck. Also, I see myself in her, so if you don’t like her, you probably don’t like me as well.”
“Bullshit. You know I like you.” He said, blue eyes looking everywhere else but your face.
Your heart did that backflip it always does whenever Bedard says something like that. You smiled.
“I like you too,” you whispered. “But I need you to meet someone.”
Just before Connor could ask who that someone was, Chloe re-entered the kitchen, slowing her steps when she noticed that Bedard was there.
“Great, you’re here,” you said, holding one of Chloe’s hands and pushing her closer. “This is who I wanted you to meet. Chloe, this is Connor Bedard. Con, this is my friend Chloe.”
Chloe reached out her hand to greet him. “Hi! I’m a huge fan. Congrats on your win!”
Connor greeted her back, but his gaze was fixed on your face. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable, all the tension from earlier coming back. Something that you couldn’t really identify flashed through Connor’s eyes and it made you want to scream.
“Hi. Thank you.”
Connor’s dry words didn’t seem to surprise Chloe. “Do you want to drink something? I make the best Black and Tan in the entire world.” She smiles.
Connor looked at you and you bit your lip, your mouth opening to speak before your brain could stop it. “It’s true. She does.”
“Oh, are you drinking now?” He sounded… angry?
“No, of course not,” you scoffed, wishing you had kept your mouth shut. “But people like it a lot.”
“I can’t drink. We have to hit the gym tomorrow morning.”
Blue eyes looked at you again and honestly? You were ready to call it a night and go back to your room, because what the hell. Connor wasn’t usually this complicated.
“Oh,” Chloe sounded disappointed but then. “Then maybe we can grab some drinks together tomorrow evening?”
Damn, she doesn’t give up.
“Sure. But El doesn’t drink.” He replied, leaning against the kitchen counter, his biceps practically ripping the tight shirt. You reminded yourself to stop staring.
And then you proceeded to remember what he’d just said.
“Um. I’m not coming,” you were sure your lipstick was already gone with how much you were biting your lip so you switched to picking on the skin around your nails. “I… I have… well, I’m—”
“She has a date.”
You and Connor both looked at Chloe. Your eyes doubled in size and you had to fight the urge to punch her. What the hell was going on with you that night, you wondered.
“Do you?” Connor asked, and he was definitely angry now. His face wasn’t showing anything but his eyes told the entire story. They had a storm going on inside of them and he had the same look as he did when that one guy made his teeth bleed during one game.
“That sounded more like a question than an affirmation. Are you seeing anyone?”
“What? No,” you laughed, amused with his answers. “No, I’m not. You and Madi would be the first to know if I were, I promise.”
Fuck.
“Well. It’s nothing serious. Just— a guy?” It definitely sounded like a question. Lying wasn’t exactly your best trait.
“Yeah, a guy. So, she can’t come. Just you and me,” Chloe continued, grabbing another beer and sipping on it. “Can you pick me up at seven? I’ll text you my address.”
Truthfully, you didn’t know how Chloe had the balls to act like this, especially with someone who hasn’t shown interest in her at all. Maybe this is what being confident means? You thought to yourself, trying to right her wrongs once more.
Connor just nodded and left the kitchen without saying a word.
“That went well, huh?” Chloe said, looking happy with the situation.
You just hummed, not wanting to lie more than you already did that night.
God.

Invisible string | pre-outbreak!Joel Miller x (mostly)gn!reader
After many months of constant fighting Joel’s wife, Evelyn, has had enough, she runs away and leaves him and baby Sarah alone when they most need her. Sarah is barely 4 months old and even though Joel is an excellent father, he still needs help with his daughter while he works. Luckily his neighbor is more than happy to help out the now single father.
Part 2
Pre-outbreak, perhaps even no outbreak at all. Joel just turned/is about to turn 20. Young reader too. Kind of slow burn. No use of y/n. Clichés all over.
Warnings: swearing, parental abandonment. Brief mention of miscarriage. English is not my first language.
Note: I’ve been meaning to write more but I’m honestly too busy or afraid of criticism so I end up posting a chapter or two on ao3 and never coming back. But I’m on vacation and I miss tumblr so here I am.

Sometimes, life takes turns leading you to places you never thought you'd find yourself in, but it doesn't have to be bad. That you had learned.
The first turn life took (and you were actually aware of it) was mid-college, and that one, well… It was actually a bad thing.
Two years earlier, you decided to travel across the country to study. It wasn't the most convenient thing geographically. It was a 24-hour drive without stops, but you made 32 in your parents' old van the first time they took you to see the campus, then it took you 4 days to get there with your best friend at the start of the first semester. It was a long way, which meant no Christmas vacation at home, no traveling for spring break, and an expensive plane ticket every summer that you had to pay yourself because, oh, surprise! It wasn't also the most convenient thing because money was tight at home, and Penn State wasn't cheap. Still, you wanted to go there, so your parents made an incredible effort to get you where you wanted. And a year and a half later, it wasn't viable anymore, so you dropped out and returned home to work.
The second life's turn happened when you were 20, and it came to you completely by surprise, without any involvement on your part, but still, you had to deal with the consequences.
You had been out of college for about seven months. It was mid-January, and you were walking home from work, watching the Christmas lights attached to rooftops fight the wind that threatened to rip them off and have them flying around. It was windier than usual, a chill wind that cut to the bone, perhaps foreshadowing the day's events.
When you reached home, you expected to be greeted by the warmth of home but, instead, you found it colder than the outside as your mom shouted like crazy in Spanish (a common thing in your household) at your dad, who just sat at the dining table with his head hung low (also a common thing). What wasn't expected was you and your siblings taking your mom's side as you found out the reason behind the yelling: your 52-year-old dad, the "most devoted father and husband of the community," was behind your family’s financial struggle, him and his mistress. That day, your mom sloppily packed your dad's things and threw him on the street. He didn't deserve more than that.
Life kept on going after that, kind of.
Many turns came after that day, more than you could ever count, and life was getting dizzier by the minute until a chilly day in late October that reminded you of the fateful day your dad ran out. Once again, you found yourself walking home from work, like in January, almost 8 months ago. You stopped half a block away from your house, fighting in vain with your beaten-down walkman, trying to play your tape until you heard muffled screams in a nearby house, something reminiscent of that day, too.
You didn't want to pry, but curiosity got the best of you, so you stayed there pretending to fix your things.
You knew the house belonged to the Keereys, but they hadn't lived there for a while. At the moment, a young couple rented it. You knew them too, not only because they were your neighbors but because both went to school with you, all the way from kindergarten to High School.
Evelyn and Joel Miller were high school sweethearts, together since their Freshman year, maybe before. They were a grade below you, but even going to the same school, you had never cared too much about their life and relationship, too busy with your own teenage drama and organizing prom and whatnot. Still, throughout the years, your mom and Diana Miller, Joel's mom, remained good friends, keeping you in all the gossip.
Evelyn's parents never liked Joel that much, and Joel never liked her parents, either. When she got pregnant at 17, they hated each other even more. Joel dropped out of High School and started to work to support a family that didn't come. The baby was never born, but they stayed together, even got married after turning 18, and when he thought of getting a GED to continue his education, they got pregnant again. Their baby was born mid-summer, and you and your family were invited to the baby shower but sent a present instead, too occupied with your family drama to go.
After the baby shower, Diana Miller didn't need to call your mom to update her on all of her son's problems because the young couple moved out of the Millers' house into their own (rented) home four houses down the block from yours, to receive their baby in peace. But peace was the last thing they had, with their baby crying more times than not, Evelyn wanting to opt-out, Joel trying to keep things together for the sake of their daughter, and you and your neighbors were the first ones to know about all their discussions.
Now, even with your headphones on, you could make up some of the phrases that Evelyn screamed, things about her wanting more, him not being enough, wishing for a better life, and wanting to leave once and for all. And before you could decide whether it was better to keep listening to bring fresh gossip home or leave the couple alone to their issues, the decision was made for you by an angry Evelyn getting out of the house in a hurry.
"-and I'm tired of you, and your house, and your stupid daughter that never shuts up!"
"Don't talk about her like that, Evelyn! Like it or not, she's your daughter. You can run away from her!"
"I'm not running away from her. I'm running away from you and this miserable life, you big, fucking, worthless idiot!"
"Evelyn, don't go! Evelyn! If you go now, don't even think about coming back! I mean it!"
"Oh honey, count on it!"
And she meant it too because while they were screaming at each other, she threw into their shared pick-up truck a bunch of clothes, a suitcase, and many plastic bags with, one could only assume, the rest of her things.
All the screaming had attracted the attention of passersby and neighbors alike. Yet, if they weren't paying attention before, the loud tire squeal of the truck as Evelyn backed out of the driveway did the trick, making everyone who was paying attention turn to the couple's house, scared by the sudden noise.
The truck drove loudly into the distance, leaving behind a deafening silence. Not even the birds dared to make any noise for a moment, afraid to upset the young man even more, but life had to keep going, even if it seemed to have stopped for him. People kept on walking, neighbors pretended to have been doing anything else rather than listening to the conversation and went on with their day, but you kept looking at the door, where an angry Joel Miller stood, not knowing what to do with life now, only distracted by the cries of his daughter, so he turned around and shut his door angrily leaving you standing in the middle of the street thinking how his life had taken a turn now too and wishing him the best of luck.

gk!harvey dent x wife!reader
note: i can’t explain this one, it just popped into my mind and i thought ‘why not?’ pure fluff featuring stephanie and turner
“oh hell no.”
you glanced down at the positive test in front of you, feeling more nauseous by the second.
how?
how did this happen?
you were always so careful.
“is everything okay in there?”
“obviously not, turner!”
you washed your hands before pushing open the bathroom door. stephanie and turner were waiting for you, expecting looks upon their faces.
there was an awkward silence before turner spoke, “so… am i gonna have a cousin?”
you ran a hand through your hand before nodding, “it’s a possibility.” stephanie jumped up from her seated position on the floor, squeezing past you, her gaze locked on the pink test resting upon a paper towel on the counter.
a gasp slipped past her lips, “oh my gosh!” her reaction was the complete opposite of yours. she rushed toward you, wrapping her arms around your body as she pulled you into a hug, “congratulations!”
you awkwardly hugged back, “thanks stephanie.” you tried to display happiness, but inside you were a mess of anxiety.
how would harvey react?
you had discussed the topic of children early in the marriage, but it hadn’t come up since then.
and with his job as district attorney, you doubted that children were a main priority.
turner followed stephanie into the bathroom, a bright smile on his face, “if the baby’s a girl, her name should be raquelle, if baby’s a boy, benedict, one hundred percent.”
you forced out a laugh, trying to cover up how truly afraid you were. you still had hours before harvey got off of work, so you decided to spend it with two of your favorite people, trying to keep your mind off of the crazy news.
-*-*-
you found yourself in you and harvey’s master bathroom, staring down at another positive test.
you’d taken two since you’d left wayne manor, both giving you the same result. “well, i’m screwed.” you whispered, your gaze flitting to your disheveled appearance in the mirror.
“what am i even supposed to say? hey harvey, your pull out game sucks, i’m pregnant?”
“hi harvey, i know we never discussed having kids, but, we’re pregnant!”
“harvey, this is a shock, considering how much protection we use, but apparently it doesn’t work well because look at us, i’m pregnant!”
you let out an audible groan. “what the fuck!!” you shouted.
everything was happening too fast, and you felt lost. so with a heavy sigh, you moved toward the bathroom door, “okay, i’ll just keep it simple. just say, ‘beautiful, we’re pregnant-“
you swung the door open and froze. harvey stood outside the door, a surprised expression upon his face.
you were at a loss for words. “harv-i-uh-i..” you bit your lip nervously, waiting for him to say something.
your husband remained silent for a long while until he whispered, “we’re pregnant?”
slowly, you nodded. afraid of his reaction. there was a pause before a bright smile spread across his face, “oh my god!” he exclaimed, rushing toward you, pulling her into a tight embrace.
it shocked you.
“y-you’re not mad?” you murmured. he pulled away, “mad?? oh honey, no, i’m not mad. why would i be mad?” he asked. you shrugged, “i.. i don’t know. this wasn’t in the cards for us-“
“i don’t care if it isn’t in the cards. sweetheart,” his hands moved to cup your face, “i am so happy. so, so happy.” he pressed a sweet kiss to your lips, “i am so proud, baby. proud of us.”
you felt tears sting your eyes. this wasn’t even a planned pregnancy, you weren’t trying, and yet, he was proud.
“i love you so much. and i’m gonna love our kid just as much.” he kissed you again, and suddenly a thought came to mind.
you pulled away slowly, “turner has some name requests already…”
harvey rolled his eyes playfully, “yeah, that kid isn’t having any control in what we name our baby.”
you laughed as harvey pulled you into another embrace, “this is amazing, honey. just amazing. i love you.” he was now repeating himself, his excitement unable to be contained.
“i love you more.” you replied.
“i love you most.”
“impossible.”

THE PRINCESS WEI YANG - 175 PART 2
CHAPTER 175: Glimpse
The visitor had an elegant and handsome appearance, wearing a four-piece serpent robe, with a string of dragon jade tokens tied with ruyi tassels around his waist. In the sunlight, ten eastern pearls can be seen trembling slightly on his crown, shining brightly. In the midst of the wealth, there was also a refined and elegant air, making it clear he came from a famous family. He seemed to have arrived in a hurry, with beads of sweat hanging on his forehead. Despite this, he did not lose any of his natural nobility and grace. He saw tears all over Madam Guo's face and in an instant, he felt as if he had been stabbed through the heart. His face became extremely pale. He strode in, supported her and said, "Madam, what are you doing? Why are you here?" As he spoke, he stared at Mother Song angrily, "Madam is not in good health, who allowed you to take her out?!"
Mother Song was obviously very afraid of the visitor, so she knelt down and said: "My lord, your servant ... this servant has no choice"
"Humph!" They were all useless. They can't even take care of his wife! Guo Su, Duke of Qi, was extremely worried about his wife. He hugged her tightly in his arms and looked at her with concern. However, Madam Guo seemed not to have seen him and just stared at Li Wei Yang. Only then did Guo Su notice that there was a young girl sitting opposite his wife, with a delicate appearance and elegant temperament. A thought suddenly appeared in his mind, and he said: "Could it be that you--" What could make his wife lose her composure like this? Yes, could it be... He almost didn't dare to think about it anymore, but there was already a faint excitement in his eyes.
Li Wei Yang was afraid that there would be another misunderstanding, so she immediately said: "Sorry, Madam Guo seems to have misunderstood that I am her daughter. It should be because of this string of beads..." She said, about to explain clearly. Unexpectedly, Madam Guo broke away from Guo Su's arms, stepped forward and pulled Li Wei Yang 's sleeves, and begged: "Jia'er, go back with your mother, okay? Don't talk that nonsense again -"
Who is talking nonsense? Li Wei Yang has never encountered this kind of situation. If it were in the past, she would have thrown away this crazy lady and turned around and left. But the other party was the wife of the Duke of Qi. If she didn't want to cause more trouble, she had to explain the matter clearly.
"Madam! Let go first!" Guo Su saw Li Wei Yang 's embarrassment and whispered, "She has already said that she is not our daughter, so what's the use of being so entangled? You will scare people. Let go, okay?" The voice sounded like pleading. However, he turned around and shouted angrily at Mother Song: "Have you given madam her medicine today?"
Mother Song said tremblingly: "Madam took the medicine before she went out early in the morning..."
Guo Su frowned. He twisted his wife's body hard and said loudly: "Xianglan, this is not our daughter!" Madam Guo turned to look at him, her voice was extremely sad and hurt: "I don't care! She is Jia'er, she must be Jia'er! I saw the Buddhist beads with my own eyes, she is my daughter! You owe me, this is what you owe me. If it weren't for your negligence, how could we have lost Jia'er? Give me my daughter back!"
Guo Su's face suddenly turned pale, his pupils flashed with light, and he stood on the ground like he had been nailed in place, silent and motionless...
"I will never let anyone separate me and Jia'er!" Madam Guo shook him off and grabbed Li Wei Yang hard, almost scratching her arm. The force was so strong that Li Wei Yang suddenly frowned. Guo Su looked at this scene sadly, unable to say a word.
Mother Song quickly came up to coax her: "Madam, please let go of young miss first. She won't leave, right? Miss, you will always be with Madam!"
Mother Song winked at Li Wei Yang. Li Wei Yang frowned, but seeing the frighteningly persistent look in Madam Guo's eyes, she nodded slightly and said, "Yes, I'm not leaving."
Madam Guo's brows relaxed, and Mother Song quickly continued: "Madam, did you hear that? She's not leaving. Come on, let go, her arms are all bruised by you!"
Madam Guo glanced blankly, then suddenly let go of her hand as if she had been burned, and murmured nervously: "Jia'er, I'm sorry, mom didn't mean it - does it hurt?"
Guo Su said nothing until Madam Guo fainted in Mother Song's arms due to excessive fatigue, and then he said dejectedly: "I'll help Madam Guo to rest first."
Then, he looked at Li Wei Yang seriously and said, "Miss, we need to talk."
"Madam Guo was fine just now, why did she suddenly-" Li Wei Yang was puzzled. Madam Guo was gentle, beautiful, generous and noble. She didn't look like a madman in any case, but her behavior could not be called normal at all.
Guo Su sighed and said, "I'm sorry, it must have scared you. In the past eighteen years, she has had no peace day and night. She often said she heard her daughter crying in the middle of the night. I accompanied her to every place in Yuexi and searched everywhere, but there was no trace of our daughter at all. Eventually, I found that something was wrong with her. She was fine on most days, but when I mentioned Jia'er, she seemed to be greatly stimulated. So I never let her go out. I just hoped that she would gradually forget about this incident, but I didn't expect that something like this would happen today..." In the past, Duke of Qi's words and deeds were all calm and unhurried, with the air of a royal nobleman. However, his expression at this moment was extremely lonely. Then, he raised his head, looked at Li Wei Yang solemnly, and said: "Miss, please tell me where the beads came from."
Li Wei Yang gently recounted everything roughly. She didn't know if the Duke of Qi would avenge her after hearing Xiaoman's tragic death, but she felt that as Xiaoman's biological parents, they had the right to know this fact.
When the Duke of Qi listened, tears rolled down from his eyes like beads.
"Xiaoman didn't know the secret of these prayer beads before so she gave the to me. She just wanted to leave them for me as a token of her gratitude before escaping, but she didn't expect that she would encounter misfortune." After Li Wei Yang said the last words, Guo Su seemed to be extremely cold, and huddled over. Unable to hold back anymore, he burst into tears. Knowing that there had been no news from his daughter for many years, he had already been mentally prepared. Suddenly, he heard Li Wei Yang say that Xiaoman was in Dadu and was killed under his nose. They had been searching for eighteen years, but it was too late. He couldn't help but feel miserable in his heart, and almost didn't want to live. The sound of howling was like that of an injured wolf in the empty night.
Mother Song's heart suddenly palpitated, and she couldn't help feeling sad for her master. She knelt down again with trembling hands and feet and a sallow complexion.
Li Wei Yang looked at him in shock. A powerful duke could not hold back his tears in front of an outsider like her. He cried bitterly. The pain of losing his daughter seemed to have crushed him all at once... For a long time, she couldn't say a word. She only felt her eyes were hot and her heart was sour. Xiaoman, you are still fortunate after all. You see, Wen Xiaolou is desperate to take revenge for you. Your parents have been looking for you everywhere and refused to give up even after eighteen years. When they know about your death they are so sad.
Maybe she has always been used to Li Xiaoran, a father who is ready to betray his daughter anytime and anywhere. Now seeing the Duke of Qi's grief, Li Wei Yang felt shocked and ridiculous, and then there was silence. Li Chang Le died, and Li Xiaoran did not do anything for her, not even shedding a tear. If she, Li Wei Yang, died, I'm afraid that person would clap his hands and cheer...
Li Wei Yang said slowly: "Master Guo, I don't know if you will take revenge for Xiaoman, but I believe that if she knew that Madam Guo was so sad, she would not be at peace. Please take good care of her. It's time for me to say goodbye."
As she said that, she walked out, but Guo Su suddenly said loudly: "Wait a minute!"
Li Wei Yang turned around and said: "I have returned the Buddha beads to you, is there anything else?"
the Duke of Qi looked at Li Wei Yang and said, "Do you have parents?"
Li Wei Yang frowned and shook her head.
Duke Guo of Qi clenched his teeth and said, "Do you have any other relatives?"
Li Wei Yang still shook her head. In her heart, she suddenly had an epiphany about Guo Su's strange questions. However, when she actually heard Guo Su's next words, she was still very shocked.
"Can you stay in the Duke of Qi's mansion and be her Jia'er?" Guo Su opened his eyes for a moment, closed them again, and then opened them again suddenly, "If you have nowhere to go, can you? Can you stay and be our daughter?!"
Li Wei Yang was stunned, as if she did not expect that the dignified Lord Qi would make the same request as Wen Xiaolou. She turned her head subconsciously, glanced at the pale and unconscious Madam Guo, and said lightly: "I'm sorry, I can't do that. Please ask someone else to do it."
the Duke of Qi stepped forward and stood in front of Li Wei Yang . He thought that Li Wei Yang would eagerly agree to his request, but he did not expect that she refused without even considering it. Glancing at his wife's face, he couldn't help but feel like someone was hitting his heart with a whip again and again. The painful sweat all over his body soaked his under robes and stuck it tightly to his body. He shook his heart and solemnly said: "We tried it before. I personally went to find a girl of similar age to pretend to be her. I even found someone to imitate the prayer beads, but she saw through it at a glance. She said that she recalled those beads day and night, and there was a needle-sized hole on the 30th bead ..."
Seeing Li Wei Yang 's surprised expression, the Duke of Qi smiled bitterly, "You see, even though she's unstable, she still understands a little. But the doctor said that she is mentally and physically exhausted and does not have many years to live. Now that she has identified you, it will never change again. Please have kindness and help us!"
Finally, Li Wei Yang explained to the Duke of Qi that she still had a young brother who needed to be taken care of. The Duke of Qi immediately assured her that he would ask someone to take care of Minzhi and send him to a safe place. When she was settled in the Duke's mansion, she can bring him to live with her, and then she only needs to explain to everyone that this is the child of her adoptive parents, and everything will be solved. Li Wei Yang knew very well that to fake Guo Jia's identity, she needed a reasonable past. If she fabricated this past herself, it would be easy to expose it, but if the Duke of Qi did it for her, everything would be easy.
It was already the early morning of the second day when everything was settled. Li Wei Yang re-dressed, but in the mirror, she saw that her face was even paler. She lightly applied rouge, and in the mirror, she saw Zhao Yue's hesitating to speak: "What's wrong?"
"Miss, if you really don't want to enter the Guo Mansion, let's leave now. Why should we be forced..."
Li Wei Yang suddenly laughed, the smile was secret and slight: "Oh, who told you that I was unwilling?"
Zhao Yue's body trembled, the tip of her nose was slightly sweaty, and she couldn't help but be even more surprised: "Miss, what are you..."
Li Wei Yang looked into her eyes, almost looking into her heart: "From the beginning, I made up my mind to enter the Guo Mansion."
"But you clearly said... you can obviously not tell Madam Guo..." Zhao Yue couldn't help but become confused. If Li Wei Yang wanted to enter the house, there was no need to tell Madam Guo the truth! Just follow what Wen Xiaolou said and pretend to be Guo Jia to enter the mansion, wouldn't it be enough?
Li Wei Yang smiled firmly and calmly, and said: "What kind of a place is the Duke of Qi's Mansion? If I pretend to be Guo Jia, it will only bring endless trouble. But now, the Duke of Qi knows everything, and he will definitely try his best to hide everything for me. He will even answer everyone's questions for me."
"This slave doesn't understand..."
"Silly girl, the Duke of Qi is not a fool. He may have been impulsive at the time, but when he came back to his senses, he would carefully inquire about my identity to see if I had ulterior motives. However, from the first day I arrived in Yuexi, I was a rich girl with no relatives or connections. Everyone thinks that I am here to see my relatives, so I live here temporarily. What can he find? In order to appease the crazy Madam Guo, he will arrange everything so that I can enter the Duke's Mansion without any worries, isn't that good?"
"But...but, what if they didn't keep you at that time?" Zhao Yue did not dare to say that Li Wei Yang could not have predicted in advance that the Duke's wife was crazy——
"Silly girl, I have already told them that Xiaoman and I are like sisters, and I am her savior, and I want to avenge her. What do you think, if you were Madam Guo, how would you treat me? You must repay me well. When the time comes, I will naturally be able to enter the Guo family, but I will just change my identity." Li Wei Yang held on to the hairpin on her bun. The texture of the jasper felt slightly cold in the palm of her hand, and she smiled faintly.
In other words, regardless of whether Madam Guo is normal or not, she is determined to take advantage of the Guo family. Zhao Yue looked at Li Wei Yang and was speechless for a moment. She had been frightened by a series of changes today, but the young lady could still be so calm and even planned everything...
"What, do you think I am taking advantage of Xiaoman and the Guo family?" Li Wei Yang looked at Zhao Yue, as if she had guessed what she was thinking, put away her smile, and said in a steady tone: "I am Li Wei Yang , I came to Yuexi for revenge, no matter how despicable the method is, I will use it."
She did not agree to Wen Xiaolou because she did not want to deceive the innocent Madam Guo, but more importantly, that would be too dangerous and too stupid. It was better to tell the other party everything directly and try every means to arouse the Guo family's desire for revenge and seize the opportunity. Of course, after forming an alliance, it was later discovered that Madam Guo was not sane, so she had a new idea, not to pretend to be Guo Jia, but to truly become Guo Jia! It must be with the acquiescence of the Duke of Qi! Even if the Duke of Qi didn't keep her today, she would let Madam Guo come to her door again!
Yes, she is such a despicable person who can climb up by stepping on everything. She is even more cruel and cold-hearted than Wen Xiaolou. But, only in this way can she approach the enemy step by step and defeat them completely.
"Okay, the carriage is waiting outside, let's go." Li Wei Yang 's tone was cold, but her voice was firm.
After getting on the carriage, Li Wei Yang opened the curtain and looked outside. It was already dark now, and there was a constant flow of people coming and going. She watched the house where she had lived for a month gradually disappear from her sight, but a smile slowly appeared in her eyes.
The carriage jolted into the inner city, the most prosperous area in the entire metropolis, where the real high-ranking nobles of Yuexi gathered. It was completely different from the outer city where she originally lived. The entire Duke of Qi's Mansion, facing south, covered an area of more than 80 acres and was divided into three parts: the main courtyard, the residence, and the garden. The east side of the house is the residence... Mother Song softly explained to Li Wei Yang as they arrived, her expression very respectful. In her opinion, although Li Wei Yang was not the real young miss, since the Duke of Qi had adopted her, she would be her true master from now on.
Li Wei Yang listened intently, as if she was very serious, but in fact, her mind had already flown elsewhere.
Outside the carriage, pedestrians were no longer visible. Occasionally, a luxurious carriage would pass by. It was obvious that this was no longer a place where ordinary civilians lived. At that moment, she saw a young man leading a group of people and galloping past her carriage, kicking up a cloud of dust. Li Wei Yang 's heart trembled. She could only vaguely see that the handsome face in the distance had a sense of familiarity that caused her heart to palpitate. It's him! She actually saw him here?! How is this possible - Li Wei Yang thought for a moment that she was dazzled or hallucinating.
"Miss? What are you thinking about?" Mother Song saw Li Wei Yang hadn't spoken for a long time, and found that she was looking outside, seemingly stunned. She quickly took a look and smiled, "Miss, did you see someone you know?"
That handsome face is rare in the world and often lingers in her mind. How could she not recognize it? However, Li Wei Yang twitched her lips and said with a bit of coldness, "No, I don't know him."
Saying this, she looked at the group of people who were gradually disappearing in the distance, and said secretly: Yuan Lie, have you actually returned to Yuexi...
At this moment, Yuan Lie didn't know that he had passed by the person he had been searching for...
------Digression-----
Xiao Qin: Originally, I was going to brush off the family recognition incident, but everyone kept asking why, and they all felt that Li Wei Yang must tell the other party the truth. Well, actually I think there is no difference at all. The final purpose is all the same, and it's a waste of pen and ink==
Editor: Sure enough, you have no morals!
Xiao Qin: There will be many perverted or twisted new characters throughout the Yuexi part of the story. Everyone feels that the plot is slow to come out, so you can watch it in a few days (^__^) Hehe...

Fate Charles Leclerc Story…
…Chapter 1…
...January 2022...
Today was the day.... the day that I would be walking down the aisle to my future. It's scary to think that at 26 years old I will be someone's wife.
I can't help but smile as I remember the times when I was five years old dressing up in our mothers wedding dresses with my best friend Lucy. We would dream about how our lives would be as we grew up.
We would always say that no matter what or no matter where we were in the world we would always be there for each other through the good, the bad and the ugly. Lucy has always been my person, we were inseparable growing up, and too this day we are still inseparable. She is the only person besides my family that I can count on, she loves me unconditionally.
It's crazy how much has changed since the days when we would dress up in wedding dresses and plan our imaginary weddings.
Looking at myself in the mirror... my blue eyes starring back at me as I took a deep breath.
My long brown hair in a low bun with wisps of hair framing my face. My freckles hidden under the layers of makeup that I never usually wore, I looked unrecognizable.
The nerves of the wedding making me feel nauseous. I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders and that I could throw up at any minute.
I could feel a small tear form at the corner of my eye as it slowly rolled down my cheek. I reached up and wiped it away as I contemplated my next move. I had watched enough romantic movies to know, I wasn't supposed to be feeling this way on my wedding day.
Was it cold feet or was it my body telling me that marrying him was not the right decision?
Before I met Jake I was a different person then the one staring back at me today.
But now that I'm staring at my reflection in the mirror, I'm starting to hate the person I have become. I have become someone who lets herself be manipulated, treated like crap and never stands up for herself, because I was scared to rock the boat.
I've become the women who begs to be loved by the person who is treating her horribly.
I have been so focused on making him happy that I have neglected myself, and what I needed to make myself happy.
Growing up my parents made sure that my sister and I always knew how strong and powerful we are. Somewhere along the way I lost that sense of empowerment, and all I wanted was to get that feeling back.
I used to love going on adventures. Lucy and I were constantly going on fun adventures, traveling the world and exploring different countries and cultures.
Heck I even spent my early 20's living in Australia and England, working as a live in nanny.
Working with children is one of the only things that truly made me feel happy and free. Like I can be 100 percent myself.... I feel confident and I'm not afraid of being judged when I am with children.
I could escape from my head, the part of me that is constantly worried about people judging me. So I made it my mission to make working with children my career.
Jake always hated that I chose to work with children as my career. I would always hear 'get a real job,' 'your job is so easy anyone could do it... I could even do it if I wanted too.'
Every single time he would make those comments he made me feel useless and worthless.
Did I really want to marry someone who made me feel this way?
If you asked me six years ago about my wedding day, I would have told you it would have been the best day of my life.
Things at the beginning were perfect, he swept me off my feet and made me feel so loved and like I was his priority.
Sadly things have been different ever since Jake proposed to me. His mom moved in with us when she divorced her fifth husband. The second that she told Jake she was getting a divorce she started making statements that she couldn't be on her own and that she needed her son to take care of her. The next day Jake packed up her stuff and she moved in with us... not that I had much say as I was the one to move in with Jake.
Over time it became evident that he was slowly choosing her over me, canceling our dates so that he could be there for his mom.
I absolutely hated it when I was alone with her because she would make comments like, 'why are you on birth control and using condoms? Your supposed to be giving me grand babies...' meaning that she went through our garbage can in our bedroom.
Every time I would tell Jake what she would say to me he would not believe me. After a while I wouldn't tell him, because what was the point if he wasn't going to believe me anyway.
It was almost like he had only proposed because his mom forced him. He was not interested in any part of the wedding planning and every time I mentioned it to him he would roll his eyes or not even look at me, to busy playing his video game.
Every time he would get mad at me he would tell me he loved me a little bit less each time. He would make comments that I was stupid or dumb when I didn't understand something.
I couldn't help but wonder if I was making the right decision by marrying him.
Did I truly love him, or did I love the idea of getting married and starting a family?
Everything was setup for the wedding. We had booked a hotel venue, that has a gorgeous event room that over looked the Miami waters.
I heard a knock on the door, breaking me from my thoughts.
I turned around in the chair I was sitting in and saw my little sister Katie and Lucy walk into the room, a nervous look on both their faces.
"What's wrong?" I questioned as I quickly jumped up from the seat I was sitting in and rushed over to them. Fearing that something had gone wrong with the venue set up.
Katie was in charge of making sure the tables were set just the way I had envisioned. And Lucy was the person the vendors were supposed to contact if there was something wrong.
"We are so worried about you, you have not seemed happy the couple of years but especially the last 6 months. You are supposed to be so happy leading up to your wedding." Lucy said as she pulled me into a big hug.
"Danielle, please don't be mad at us. We did it because we love you, and you deserve to do the things that make you happy." My little sister Katie said as she walked farther into the room I was occupying holding a small white envelope in her hands.
I looked at her, curious. "What are you talking about?"
"Just read the letter." Lucy said as she looked down, afraid to look me in my eyes.
My eyes glanced down at the letter that was now in my hands. I looked at the address that the letter came from and it came from Monaco, which confused me even more. I didn't know anyone from Monaco. I quickly opened the letter and began to read.
Dear Ms. Danielle Andersen,
Thank you so much for applying for the nanny position.
We are extremely impressed with your resume, and your experience as a live in nanny in both England and Australia. Your previous employers could not say enough good things about you.
We look forward to welcoming you into our home and into our busy lifestyle, we believe you are the perfect fit.
We look forward to getting to know you better,
Kelly Piquet and Max Verstappen
I looked up from the letter shocked, what has just happened? What had I just read?
Max Verstappen... wasn't he the formula 1 racer?
I didn't know much about the sport just that he was consistently winning races.
They wanted ME to be their nanny...
Just the thought of traveling to new places made my heart jump in excitement... Something that I hadn't felt in a while.
"Oh, Katie... Lucy" I started before pausing, trying to find the right words to say as a tear slowly started to roll down my cheek.
My head spinning as a million different thoughts ran though my head.
I thought about the letter I just read, and the marriage I was about to jump headfirst into... the marriage that seemed to be already falling apart at the seams.
"Elle, I have seen you suffering in silence for years. I've seen you slowly lose your light and your beautiful smile." Lucy said as she cupped my face between her hands, using one of her thumbs to gently brush away the tear that was slowly running down my face.
I could see her take a deep breath as Katie started speaking.
"We miss your smile; we miss your adventurous spirit. The moment you met Jake, you have been slowly but surely losing yourself to make him shine and be happy. When has he ever put you first? When has he ever established boundaries with his mom? You spent 4 years in a relationship where all you did was put them first. For gods sake you neglected your own happiness to provide and take care of them."
Katie took another deep breath as she pulled me into her arms for a big hug.
"Last week we were looking for nanny jobs overseas for you, and this one popped up. I quickly called Lucy and we decided that we should apply for you; we hoped you would get it. So, you could leave this place, and start over."
Tears welled in my eyes as I pulled both her and Lucy into a big group hug.
My wedding dress suddenly feeling a little bit tighter than when I put it on 10 minutes prior, as the nerves of what I was about to do started to get the better of me.
"Katie, you're supposed to be the little sister, when did you get so wise?" I said as I gave her a big hug, thankful for the comfort as tears started to roll down my face.
"I'm going to do it. I have been sacrificing my happiness for way too long. Traveling and being a nanny makes me happy. Now I just need to go tell Jake that I don't want to get married anymore."
"I love you big sis! Now go tell Jake, I'll go tell mom and dad that the wedding is cancelled." Katie said as she gave me a big hug. "I'm so proud of you for finally choosing you, for finally doing what is going to make you happy."
"I'll go tell the venue and the vendors that the wedding is cancelled." Added Lucy as she gave me another big hug, before making her way down to the event space.
I picked up the glass of champagne that was sitting of the table beside me and chugged it before making my way out of the room and down the hall was to where Jake was getting ready for our wedding.
'That's odd.' I thought as I noticed a pair of red heels right by the door of the suit, that the hotel wedding venue had given us.
With each step I took I could feel my heart beating faster and faster as I noticed things around the room.
Looking for any sign or signal that something was not right.
Every step I took, I could feel my heart sink as the realization started to sink in.
The further I stepped in the room the more I noticed, there were two glasses of half drank wine sitting beside a box of untouched chocolate covered strawberry, and an opened box of condoms.
'What the fuck?' I questioned. I could feel my body start to shake in anticipation of what I was about to see next.
When I got to the door of bathroom, I could hear the sound of the shower running, as well as the sounds of loud moans echoed through the room.
Instantly my heart dropped, 'how could he do this to me on our wedding day?' I could feel the tears weld up in my blue eyes.
I was not going to let him see me cry, I was not going to give him the satisfaction of letting him see me hurt.
I took a deep breath and mustered up all the courage I could, as I reached for the door handle.
"Elle" screamed Jake as soon as he saw me. Quickly trying to cover up the person he was having an affair with his body.
To my surprise, the person he was having sex was my childhood friend Alexis.
"YOU!" I screamed as I pointed at him, "How could you? And with my friend."
"Elle, let me explain" stuttered Jake as he frantically reached around for a towel as he stepped out of the shower.
I looked over towards Alexis and I could see her smirking at me. Just the sight of her smirking at me made my anger boiling inside of me come to a head.
"Elle, babe. It's not my fault that you couldn't satisfy Jake sexually. I'm only giving him what you couldn't." Alexis said as she twirled soaking wet blond hair around her ring finger, the biggest smirk on her face.
"Alexis, babe" I mimicked " a little word of advice, he's only with you because you made it easy for him. Do yourself a favour and get out now. You don't want to have to deal with him or his mother."
"And YOU, are you fucking kidding me... after everything I have put up with for you. You couldn't do the decent thing and tell me you wanted to end things instead of cheating on me with my friend. I dealt with the constant lies and manipulation from both you and your mother. I had to live with the controlling behaviours, afraid to stand up for myself. I put up with all of that for you because I loved you. I put your happiness before my own. I stopped doing the things I love because of you. I was losing myself to make you happy. And you didn't even notice, you were too busy fucking my best friend."
Quickly I slipped off the engagement ring that had been on my ring finger for the last for two years, throwing it on the ground as I walked out of the room, my head held high so that they did not have the satisfaction of seeing me cry.
When I got into my car the tears ran down my cheeks like a waterfall as I desperately tried to wipe them away.
"Fuck them." I screamed out in frustration as I put my car in dive. 'I deserve better than the way he treated me. I'm going to find someone who treats me better than Jake ever did'
I quickly turned onto the highway and made my way to the apartment I had been living in for the past 3 years.
In record time I packed up my belongings and put them into the trunk of my vehicle. Thankfully I didn't have much things at the apartment.
I drove to my parents house to drop off my belongings, as I only planned on bringing my carryon and one suitcase.
I was going to drive to the airport and hop on the first flight out to Monaco so I could start me new adventure. I was not going to let anything stop me from being myself and happy again.
I could see my parents standing at the door, waiting for me when I pulled into their driveway.
"Oh Elle," my mother said as she pulled me into a big hug as soon as I stepped out of the car. "I'm so proud of you, what you did takes a lot of courage and strength."
"Hey, it's my turn to hug her now." My dad teased as he pulled me from my mothers arms and gave me a big hug. I couldn't help but smile as a tear rolled down my cheek, there is something about a fathers embrace that makes you feel safe and loved. "I'm so proud of the women you are today. I will always be here to support you, no matter what."
"Hey! Is it my turn yet? Elle has a plane to catch" Katie whined as she pulled me into her arms for a big hug. "Love you big sister, amazing things are about to come your way. Please promise me something... If love comes knocking on your door, please don't be afraid to answer it. I have a feeling your person is on his way to you."
"I promise." I said giggling.
"Here's your plane ticket." Dad said as he handed me a plane ticket. "As soon as Katie told us about the job opportunity we booked your flight."
"But how did you know you I was going to take the job?"
"We had faith that you would finally see what we have been seeing for the last three years. You deserve the world Elle. Fight for what you want and don't settle just because your afraid of the unknown." My father said as he pulled me close for another hug.
"If you ever need us, please call and we will be on the first flight to you." My mother added as she gave me one last hug.
I waved goodbye to my sister and parents and hopped into a Uber making my way to the Miami airport to start my new adventure.
Once I got to the airport I thanked the driver and made my way inside the airport my carry one and suitcases wheeled behind me.
There was only a small crowd of people at the airport, so checking into the flight and going through security was effortless.
Before making my way to the gate, I stopped by the Starbucks and got myself a grande ice Carmel macchiato.
I was just about to start walking when I felt something knocking into me, causing the coffee I was holding in my arms to spill all over me.
"Oof" I gasped out, looking down at my now coffee stained white T-shirt.
"oh mon dieu." The handsome stranger said, as he looked down at my now stained t-shirt.
"I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking."
His thick French accent catching my attention.
I looked up at the stranger who had bumped into my me and I couldn't help but get lost in his beautiful green eyes.
I could see a faint blush on his cheeks as he was embarrassed about knocking into me.
"Please don't worry, it was an accident. I also wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I said smiling at the stranger hoping to make him feel better about the whole situation.
"Anyways, I kind of like the new look. I know I usually drink my coffee not wearing it, but I think this could be a new fashion trend." I joked trying to make this beautiful stranger laugh.
It was music to my ears when his laugher filled the air.
"Here, please take my sweatshirt. It's the least I can do for ruining your shirt." He said as he pulled the hoodie over his head and held it out for me to take.
"Oh no, really it's okay." I said as I tried to hand back the hoodie that was now in my hands.
"Please." He begged, as he smiled at me.
"Fine," I huffed admitting defeat as I pulled the hoodie over my head, catching a whiff of the cologne he was wearing. Damn he smelled amazing. "Thank you."
"It's the least I could do, it looks better on you anyways." He said as he ran his fingers through his hair smiling. The movement, allowed me to see his bicep muscles that were peaking out from his white t-shirt.
"Calling passengers on flight 130 to Italy. The plane is ready for boarding. Calling all passengers in first class to board first" Rang through the speakers throughout the airport.
"That's me." The stranger sighed as he gave me a small smile. "Have a safe flight."
"You too." I said as I watched him walk towards his gate.
I couldn't help but giggle as I thought about what just happened, as I made my way to my gate. This kind of stuff happens in movies... not to normal people like me.
…Charles's POV…
As I rushed to reach my gate, my mind couldn't help but drift to the beautiful brown hair, blue eyed women.
I couldn't get the pictures of her wearing my hoodie out of my mind, the way it hung loosely on her petite body.
The images of her smiling face engraved into my mind the moment I bumped into her spilling all her coffee on her.
Thankfully she was drinking an ice coffee or the accident would have been more serious.
The sound of her laugh when she joked with me about me spilling her coffee all over her. I could tell that she was trying to make me feel better about the whole situation.
As I reached the gate, slightly out of breath I could see my little brother Arthur standing at the gate waiting for me to board.
"Bro, What took you so long?" He questioned as he saw me rush towards him a big smile on my face. "Dude, why are you smiling like that? And what the hell happened to your sweatshirt?"
"Bro, I think I just ran into my future wife." I sighed as her adorable smile pierced through my mind. "I just wish there was some way, I could find her again."
I quickly told him what happened as i handed the lady at the gate my passport, and boarding pass.
"Bro, if it's meant to be you will run into her again, hopefully not making a fool of your self this time." Arthur teased as we walked towards our seats.

Tom and Maddie's Announcement [part 1]
OK... I'm not sure if anyone has already done this, I can't get it out of my head so I am doing it RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW BABY
-
It was a pretty hectic Friday afternoon, and it all begun with Tom getting an urgent call from his wife Maddie. Beforehand, she had complained about feeling sick for the past several days. Maddie being who she is that didn't stop her from going to work every single day... even if she did spend a lot of her shift in the restroom. The final straw was when she had fainted while talking to a client about their furry companion's condition. The persistence of her friends convinced her to get checked out at her primary doctor. After running a few tests, checking her blood pressure, and so forth. After asking her some personal health questions, "Hm, have you taken a pregnancy test?" Maddie was floored that the doctor even asked that... oh, well.. it sorta does make sense now. After agreeing to take a test, and she received the results maybe not even 10 minutes later... this was when she called Tom.
Tom was a hot mess when he rushed to the room Maddie was in. "Wait, what... pregnant?! A-are you sure?"
The doctor calmly nodded, "your wife is possibly... 3 weeks pregnant. But, we can't assume until we do a ultrasound."
Tom honestly wasn't quite sure how to feel at the moment. Nervous? Scared? About to puke? Yeah, most likely the third. The couple never really talked about having children... Sonic kind of filled that role. But, it was actually happening! In about an hour of waiting, they were guided to another room where the ultrasound would indeed prove she was pregnant! The doctor scheduled a follow up with Maddie, so they can keep an eye on the baby's growth, and Maddie's health. She was recommended that she would need to take more vitamins, start avoiding certain beverages, and different types of food.
Before going inside their home, Maddie and Tom embraced each other. Maddie could sense the uncertainty Tom was feeling. “Hey, we handled a talking 3 foot tall hedgehog, and a crazy Egghead, I'm sure we can handle parenthood." Tom scoffed in amusement, then the couple shared a kiss.
When they went to unlock the front door, they noticed it was already unlocked. Tom went in first, it better be Sonic. But he has been told numerous times unless they are home to not leave the door unlocked. (Not that it would prevent Eggman...) When they came in the kitchen they found Sonic searching through the fridge. "If it's a burglar I got Maddie's broccoli casserole, and I'm not afraid to use it!" Sonic threatened, his head still deep in the fridge, before glancing over his shoulder.
Maddie crossed her arms, beside her Tom stifled a laugh. "Sonic. Haven't we told you to lock the door when we weren't home?"
"Uh... yeah." Sonic rubbed the back of his head, ashamed. He hopped on the countertop, and opened a covered dish that had Maddie's well-loved dessert and helped himself to a big spoonful. Sonic couldn't recall the name of it but it had layers of chocolate mousse, cool whip, and oreo cookie crumbs. He licked his lips as the couple quickly took the dish, and the spoon away from him. His ears dropped in disappointment. "Where ya'll been, anyway?" He jumped off the counter. Glancing around the kitchen, the hedgehog was still starving.
Tom and Maddie had just discovered they were gonna have a baby together, they had no preparation to tell Sonic the big news. Maddie had always imagined a cute Pinterest board baby announcement... however, life took them by surprise so they had to improvise. The couple looked at one another, "Say Sonic, you wanna go out to eat for dinner?" She could tell Sonic wasn't gonna listen or be still enough until he appeased his hunger. The hedgehog piped up in excitement.
-
Years ago, Tom and Maddie couldn't really have Sonic with them in a public restaurant, today, Greenhill welcomed Sonic warmly. Being a smaller town helped a lot too. They've been to bigger cities, but for Sonic's sake they rather avoid too many unfamiliar faces.
As usual, Sonic had ordered chili dogs with their huge steak fries. Tom did his best by choosing a healthier option to support Maddie. Not that Maddie minded, she honestly wasn't sure if she could handle the food she had chosen. Not much was spoken between the three, except small talk. While Tom and Sonic spoke, Maddie was brainstorming on how to tell Sonic. Why was she more nervous about telling him over Tom? She assumed that it was because Sonic was less predictable than Tom was. Tom kept glancing over at Maddie, waiting for a signal or something. Nothing. He cleared his throat; Maddie nudged him and shook her head. "Are you all done, Sonic? I have to get some shopping done before too late." Sonic groaned. He hated shopping. Especially if he couldn't get something super cool that he wanted. The bill was paid, and they left the restaurant behind. Once they hopped in the vehicle, Maddie mentioned the mall. Which was probably half an hour away. It wasn't the greatest mall, but it was loved by so many, and slowly more and more stores started popping up. "How about you two check out the arcade?" Maddie told the boys, before they knew it Sonic darted towards the entrance.
"I thought we were gonna tell him?" Tom whispered, the couple walking towards the entrance of the arcade, still keeping an eye on the hyper hedgehog.
"We will. I have an idea." Maddie kissed his cheek. "Now, make sure he doesn't break anything.."
-
Maddie was relieved to see that the custom t-shirt shop was still open at this hour. When she saw the gentleman come out from the back of the shop, she approached the counter. He politely welcomed her. "What can I do for you, Ma'am?" Maddie quickly scrolled on her phone, opening her Pinterest app, and showed him an image.
"Could you customize a shirt like this?" The image displayed a white shirt with "Big Bro" in bold letters and a special request to make sure it'll fit Sonic okay.
"Dare I say congratulations? This shouldn't be any problem at all. Anything else?" Maddie thought about a bandana for Ozzie, unfortunately he didn't have any in stock but advised her to order one online. While she waited for him to finish the custom shirt, she searched the store. After it was done, he laid the shirt on the counter to make sure that it was to her satisfaction. She paid, while he folded the shirt and put it in a box for her per request, and handed it to her. "I hope to see you again, Maddie." She departed the store to find the boys.
-
When she entered the arcade, she was slightly overwhelmed by the lights and sounds. Deeper in the arcade she found Tom and Sonic playing a racing game. Figures. Poor Sonic had to stand up, awkwardly trying to steer, shift gear, and reach the gas pedal. He was trying so hard. Unfortunately, the time drew to the end of their session of the game. Neither winning 1st place. "That game was totally rigged." Tom acclaimed. Sonic started looking around for more games to play. Unfortunately they were down to 2 tokens to play with. "Hey bud, how about you try to get a prize out of that crane game over there?" Tom and Maddie spoke quietly while he tried his luck on the machine in the corner. Sonic walked away with weird fidget toy, which he ended up giving away to a random kid in the store.
The Wachowski's arrived home after getting some snow cones. Maddie and Tom changed into their pajama's for the night. It was movie night, and Tom's night to pick. However, before the movie... they needed to have a talk. Sonic was sharing the rest of his snow cone with Ozzie while Tom selected the movie. Maddie joined them on the couch. She laid the box beside Sonic. "I got you a little something today, Sonic." The blue hedgehog looked at the box, confused. It wasn't his birthday, right? Even though he was confused by the sudden gift, like always he didn't waste anytime opening it. Inside was tissue paper, folded up nicely. Soon, he realized it was a shirt. Not much of a shirt kind of guy.. but oh well, it was from Maddie so he's happy with it nonetheless. "What's it say?" Maddie anxiously waiting as his expression changed.
"Huh?" Sonic read the front of the shirt, confusion clear on his face.
Tom moved closer to Maddie, his hand resting on her thigh. Maddie smiled, and placed her hand on Sonic's. "We're expecting-"
"Expecting what?"
"A baby, Sonic."
His mouth formed a small o as it dawned on him, that Maddie was indeed pregnant.
"You're gonna be a big brother, Sonic."

favorite lines from "THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT"
your wife waters flowers, i want to kill her
All my mornings are monday stuck in an endless february
but you're in self-sabotage mode, throwing spikes down the road
we're modern idiots
You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate
i scratch your head, you fall asleep, like a tattooed golden retriever
sometimes i wonder if you're gonna screw this up with me, but you told lucy you'd kill yourself if I ever leave
'cause it fit too right, puzzle pieces in the dead of night, I shouldve known it was a matter of time
'cause i knew too much, there was danger in the heat of my touch, he saw forever so he smashed it up
did you really beam me up?, in a cloud of sparkling dust, just to do experiments on, tell me I was the chosen one, showed me that this world is bigger than us, then sent me back where I came from
now im down bad crying at the gym, everything comes out teenage petulance, "fuck it if I cant have him", "I might just die, it would make no difference"
how dare you think its romantic, leaving me safe and stranded
my spine split from carrying us up to the hill, wet through my clothes, weary bones caught the chill
thinking how much sad did you think I had, did you think I had in me? oh the tragedy
i stopped cpr, after all its no use
two graves, one gun, ill find someone
you swore that you loved me, but where were the clues? i died on the alter waiting for the proof
i just learned these people try and save you 'cause they hate you
id rather burn my whole life down than listen to one more second of all this bitchin' and moanin', ill tell you something 'bout my good name, its mine along with all the disgrace, I don't cater to all these vipers dressed in empire's clothing
there's a lot of people in town that I bestow upon my fakest smiles
my friends tried, but i wouldn't hear it, watched me daily disappearing, for just one glimse of his smile
another summer, taking cover, rolling thunder, he doesnt understand me, splintered back in winter, silent dinners, bitter, he was with her in dreams
little did you know you home's really only a town youre just a guest in
florida, is one hell of a drug, florida, can I use you up?
little did you know your home's really only the town youll get arrested, so pack your life away just to wait out the shitstorm back in texas
i need to forget, so take me to florida, ive got some regrets, ill bury them in florida, tell me I'm despicable, say its unforgivable, at least the dolls are beautiful, fuck me up, florida
go on, fuck me up
this cage was once just fine, am i allowed to cry?
what if hes written "mine" on my upper thigh only in my mind?
these fatal fantasie given way to laboured breath taking all of me, weve already done in my head
what if the way you hold me is actually whats holy?
they dont know how youve haunted me so stunningly, i choose you and me, religiously
if you wanted me dead you shouldve just said
crash the party like a record crash as i scream, "whos afraid of little old me?", you should be
i wanna snarl and show you just how disturbed this has made me, you wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me
you caged me and then you called me crazy, i am what i am 'cause you trained me, so whos afraid of me?
they shake their heads saying, "god, help her" when i tell 'em hes my man
ill show you heaven if youll be an angel, all mine
whoa, maybe i cant
i thought i was better safe than starry-eyed
if you know it in one glimpse, its legendary, you and i go from one kiss to getting married
you shit-talked me under the table, talking rings and talking cradles, i wish i could unrecall, how we almost had it all
youre the loss of my life
the lights refract sequin stars off her silhouette every night, i can show you lies
'cause im a real tough kid, i can handle my shit, they said "babe, you gotta fake it till you make it" and i did
lights, camera, bitch, smile, even when you wanna die
im so depressed, i act like its my birthday everday
'cause im miserable (haha), and nobody even knows, try and come for my job
and i dont even want you back, i just want to know, if rusting my sparking summer was the goal
you didnt measure up in any measure of a man
in fifty years will all this be declassifed?, and ill say, "good riddance"
i wouldve died for youre sins, instead i just died inside
so when i touch down, call the amateurs and cut 'em from the team
'cause the sign on your heart said its still reserved for me, honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?
he jokes that "its heroin, but this time with an E"
you look like clara bow
this town is fake but youre the real thing, breath of fresh ait through smoke rings
the crowd goes wild at her fingertip, half moon shine, a full eclipse
youre the new god were worshipping, promise to be dazzling
beauty is a beast that roars down on all fours demanding more
you look like taylor swift, in this light, were loving it, youve got edge, she never did, the futures bright, dazzling

Hello! It's Winter. Thank you for your kind words for In Sickness and In Health. I wrote a second part.
It was only when Brigitte stopped giggling that she realized Emmanuel was being serious. Placing her hand on his cheek, she smiled softly, “I can’t marry you.”
His face sank, “why not? Don’t you love me?”
Brigitte pulled the covers back on the bed, giving him space and permission to join her. Without hesitation, he slid in beside her, leaving no misinterpretation of his feelings for her.
He allowed her to speak. “You know I love you, but getting married this weekend is very short notice. I don’t have a dress. We don’t have rings or a venue. My children! I can’t get married without them being present. And you’re still in school. It’s too soon.”
Emmanuel was afraid this would be her answer, and quite frankly, he would never want to get married if her three children weren’t in attendance.
With a deep sigh, he spoke, “I just love you so much. I want you to be my wife.”
She kissed his hand, “I know, but we can’t rush things. Please. We are still experiencing a lot of things for the first time. Look at today, for example, you had never seen me sick before.”
“I want to be with you all the time,” Emmanuel admitted, not realizing how needy and obsessive he was coming off. “I want to be there every morning when you wake up, I want to share meals with you, and go to bed next to you every day.”
She shifted closer to his chest, breathing in his masculine scent, a mixture of his perfume and shampoo. “We will have all of that, but we need to be patient. I promise, Emmanuel. I know we aren’t married but I do feel like your wife. I am committed to you - only you.”
He smiled at her comment before getting out of bed. “I’m going to make some food for us. I can’t have my wife eating plain crackers all day.”
Unfortunately, when Emmanuel entered the room again, he found her wrapped in his bedsheets snoring lightly. He placed the plate of food on the nightstand and kissed her cheek.
With a whisper, he spoke to her sleeping body. “I don’t think you realize or understand just how much I love you, how crazy I am about you. You’re everything to me, Brigitte. I know I don’t have much to offer you right now - except my undying love - but that will change. I swear I am going to give you the life you deserve.”
With that, he got up and left the bedroom, allowing her to sleep soundly, missing her from the living room as he continued with the book he was reading to her earlier.
Hello Winter! ❤️
Glad you decided to right a sequel!
Oh the needy Emmanuel 😅 but just can’t help laughing at how adorable he also is hahaha the poor in love child 🥰
Thank you so much, Winter! ❤️❤️❤️

At Last
Involved: Mercedes D’onofrio, Nicholas D’onofrio, and Freddie D’Angelo Location: New York City, New York Time Frame: Notes: Intercepting on Nicholas behalf, Freddie finally gets Mercedes and the man in the same room.
Mercedes slid her glasses down from her face slightly looking over them. She looked out the window of the vehicle they were in before she slid them back up with her red manicured nail. “Hm” she said as she sat back pulling her bag in her lap. Freddie had been holding her up all day for what reason she didn’t know but it was starting to get on her nerves. As he joined everyone inside the truck she looked towards him through her dark sunglasses. “I am going to be late,” she said bitterly.
Freddie looked at Mercedes and said defensively “just trying to protect you, cover all bases. You won’t be late” he told her thoroughly. “We will make it to the appointment right on time”.
“I hope so,” Mercedes countered. “Seems like to me you are so preoccupied lately, I wonder why that is?” she asked him.
Looking straight ahead Freddie said “no, not more than usual” he told her, before he turned to look out the window himself.
Mercedes chuckled at that, turning her head away from him. When she dealt with him finally his punishment would be swift. “Well, you have 12 minutes to get us to my appointment. Or else…”
Freddie bit his lip for a moment before he knocked on the partition and said “step on it” easily.
Nicholas sat, fingers steepled, looking across the desk at the doctor. After finding out this was an OB-GYN's office, he’d gotten concerned. There had to be something wrong with Red. No wonder she’d been acting so crazy. He had arrived hours before his wife's appointment and staked out the office. Now he sat, fingers steepled as he sat across from the doctor. Actually, he was fixated on the file laying on the desk. Freddie thought it was important and he trusted the man. And while he could take the file and find out why his “wife” was coming to visit the doctor, too much of him was afraid it was news he didn’t want to hear. Inhaling he took a deep breath and looked up at the clock, ‘Red should be here by now.’ He thought, shifting in his seat.
Pushing red hair out of her face, a thought crossed her mind. But she pushed it away. There were so many thoughts dancing around in her head she could hardly concentrate. She had no time to ponder on Freddie’s affairs. Pulling her eyes away from the window she looked down, she’d got a tan on the hand her ring once adorn. An absence that pained her as much as Michael’s. The thought caused her face to harden and she was reminded why she shouldn’t give a fuck about the missing red diamond at all.
“See, we are here. We weren’t far. I got you” Freddie said happily as he moved to open the door and climb out the truck. “You two stay down here, keep the car running. You stand outside” he ordered. “Here you go,” he said, offering his hand to her after opening her door.
Mercedes looked up at Freddie and then out the window. She looked up at the building and moved to wiggle her way out of the truck. Once her feet hit the ground she looked around them. She hadn’t seen the light of day in days, smelling the fresh air relieved her a bit. She held Freddie’s hand as he escorted her into the building, four other soldiers accompanying them inside.
So far so good, Freddie thought as he let them into the building. Now he wondered if Nicholas would actually show. He moved to an elevator and pressed the up button. When it arrived he let her on and then they piled in, surrounding her. When it reached their floor and the door opened, he let the men climb off and stand guard one at each corner. He took a look around for himself, remaining discreet so that she didn’t catch on to him looking for Nicholas. He grabbed Mercedes hand again and moved her towards the front. “D’onofrio, Dr. Sawyer, I’m going back.”
Mercedes pushed her glasses up on her nose a bit. When Freddie walked her out of the elevator a hand instinctively moved for her rounded belly and she rubbed it absently. She raised a brow at Freddie as he took the lead, she tossed red and black hair out of her face before she slid her sunglasses down slowly and tucked them away in her purse comfortable with showing herself.
Nicholas looked down at this watch. The irony that he was waiting on Red’s arrival was not lost on him. He rubbed at his eyes, breathing deeply. “Turnabout is fair play.” He mumbled, crossing one long leg over the other. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, he pulled it out and reviewed the message, “She on her way up.” Was all it said, nodding he sat up a little straighter in his seat.
Freddie turned when given the correct room number, he nodded and made sure he led her in that direction. Underneath all of his confidence was a man shaking in his boots. He was so thankful to Nicholas and the help he had provided. His wife and children were tucked away safely, now all he had to do was watch his own back at every turn. He opened the door to the room and allowed her in before he shut it behind her and stood guard by the door, his back resting against the wall as he slowed his nervous breathing.
In her heels she managed to keep up with Freddie’s fast paced walking. He was holding her hand tightly while her other held her large purse. Once they made it to the room, she’d opened her mouth to ask him why he was in such a rush now but before she had the opportunity to do so he had pushed her into the room and shut the door. Her green eyes squinted at him before she turned to none other than Nicholas. Her hazel eyes glowed with shock. Too stunned to speak she stood at the door gazing at him. When she found her voice she asked “what” pausing as she swallowed down her fear “are you doing here?”
The hair on the back of Nicholas’ neck stood up as he heard the door open. For the first time he actually began to think this was a bad idea. What the hell, he was here now. Rising to his feet he stood to greet Red. Green eyes meeting each other for the first time in weeks… Hell months. He stumbled back a step, grabbing the corn of the desk with his hands, he took in every inch of his wife. His eyes drifted away from and returned to her stomach over and over again. “How many months?” He asked in a horse whisper, that mingled in the air with her question.
She was going to kill Freddie, she had to there was no one else who’d planned this but him. She pinched the bridge of her nose as her blood began to boil. She was so angry she could rip his head off of his body. Turning her back to Nicholas she closed her eyes as she inhaled and exhaled slowly. Freddie was ruining everything for her, all of the work she’d done to avoid this and he brought her straight to him. “Six months” she said moving towards the counter she gripped the sides of it, the corner digging into the palm of her hand as her teeth grind against themselves. Freddie was dead.
Six whole months and she wasn’t going to tell him. He quieted that voice and shook his head somberly. “You have got to be kidding me.” He moved to stand just at her back, as he looked down on her shorter frame. “You were pregnant this whole time. Damnit, Red, why didn’t you tell me?”
Releasing the corner she looked down at her hand before she bawled her fist. She turned to look at him, was he serious right now? She chuckled lightly, her hand moving to rest on her head now as she shook it at him. “As if you care,” she said honestly. “What, you want to take this kid from me too now?” she said as she slid past him, moving to the other side of the room. Being close to him made her feel too many things she would rather not feel.
Nicholas stared down into her face. So close he could almost make out the freckles that she worked so hard to conceal. He missed her so damn much. He managed to get his hand up to slide across her tummy as she all but ran away from him. “How are you? Are you taking care of yourself?” He asked, turning to look at Red where she now stood across the room. “Is everything with Mercedes and the baby healthy?” He was addressing the doctor now, though his eyes stayed trained on his wife.
She tilted her head at him, it was so easy for him to turn it on and off. Like magic, the very snap of her fingers now he wanted to be attentive. Mercedes guessed if she stayed pregnant all the time she might actually feel worthy enough to carry his last name. To be loved by him even if it were just for a while.
Dr. Sawyer looked between the man and woman, she’d learned during the woman’s pregnancy with Michael that it was best to not speak unless spoken to. “Yes, for the most part. I had a concern with potential hypertension… but I think I have an idea what that is all about now” she said back to him. “I would say despite the weight loss, all in all baby D’onofrio has been measuring as she should.”
Nicholas mirrored his wife's movements, raising an eyebrow as he tilted his head holding her eyes. “You’re so damn stubborn” He mouthed, before turning to look at Dr. Sawyer fully. He didn’t like the doctor’s little remark and his eyes said so. “How about you keep the extra commentary and tell me what we can do to correct those issues.” He strolled across the room and took Red fingers in his hands, looking past her beautiful costume, he hated that he could see, except for the bump, she was thinner. Yet, worse was the unsettled look in her eyes. He looked away from her face and then closed his hand around hers, pulling her to the chairs in front of the Doctor’s desk, “Is that everything you need for the day?” He asked Dr. Sawyer, clutching Mercedes hand.
Mercedes looked away from him, dismissing his comment to her instantly. She wasn’t stubborn and she wouldn’t allow him to reduce her feelings to such a trivial emotion, stubbornness? No, this happened to be beyond that. However, as he reached for her and tugged her closer to his side she moved, her feet not showing any hesitation at all.
The doctor looked down at her file for Mercedes and then back up again, she wanted to examine Mercedes but she guessed she wouldn’t be allowed to? His comment was more of an order than a question she felt so she injected. “I had Mercedes evaluated by a psychiatrist. I wanted to know what drove her to the point that she was refusing to eat, sleep, leave the house… she's manic depressive. Probably always had been, just undiagnosed. I don’t think her blood pressure will be an issue. And so far I don’t see any concern with the weight loss either, each pregnancy is different in its own right anyway. And she promised to actually eat and sleep more when she was here two weeks ago.” The woman looked to Mercedes before she said “we do have a prescription for Lithium, it would help with the manic depression” she said looking back at Nicholas again. “It is a mood stabilizer and it won’t harm the baby.”
Nicholas ground his teeth, anger building like a storm on the open water in his stomach. This bitch really didn’t know when to stop. They all knew why his wife was upset, right or wrong it was him. He sucked his teeth, he prepared to leave, tugging Mercedes towards the door. Mentally, setting a price on the doctor’s head. The true diagnosis gave him pause, “She is fine. I’ll make sure she rests and eats. It can’t be something like depression.” He said, looking at Red, sure this woman was wrong.
Dr. Sawyer looked at Nicholas with raised brows, he was in denial and this was a very serious topic sadly. She watched him and said “Mr. D’onofrio, this is a very serious matter. If you don’t trust the judgment of me and my colleague, at least get a second opinion and evaluation. Bipolar Disorder is not something that’s taken lightly in the mental health community” she told him.
Mercedes looked at the woman with a raised brow, mentally she was in tip top shape the lady was crazy. She chuckled and told her “I am far from crazy…” with a head shake. She wasn’t bipolar, she was just misunderstood, sometimes erratic, a little sad here and there, quick to anger, up and down. But who wasn’t?
“The psychiatrist thinks she could even be diagnosed with Bipolar 1 disorder. He fears potentially psychosis… mania. Mercedes made a significant impression on him” Dr. Sawyer breathed.
Nicholas’ mind raced. There was nothing wrong with Red, that being a crime boss didn’t cause. All of their perspectives were skewed. It was power, money, and lack of compassion that ruled their lives. This was something the doctor would never understand. “We have stressful careers. I know it weighs on my wife heavily.” Nicholas traced the spot Red’s wedding band should have been. “I’ll be more attentive and you’ll see everything will be fine.” He let the woman finish, then nodded. “Consider your concerns noted. Is there anything else?”
Her body tensed at first as he brushed his fingers against hers, her ring should have been on. She knew that. But she was quickly brought out of that thought bubble, Mercedes tilted her head gazing at the woman, did she just call her a potential maniac? She didn’t like the way in which the woman was talking about her, while she was standing right there in the room. “How dare you insult me to my fucking face” she told her voice low as she tightened her hand around her purse. She looked over at Nicholas as he spoke, they were treating her like a child. Speaking about her and not directly to her. She squeezed his hand wickedly, her eyes narrowing at him. “More attentive?” she asked in shock. They took her for a joke, her husband leading the pack.
Dr. Sawyer eyes snapped towards Mercedes, her point was proven in the moment but she was sure that would go over everyone’s head. “Okay” she said to the man “I understand” she added, wanting no confrontation with them both. “That is all that I have,” she said. She moved to stand up and excuse herself before she could get herself into more trouble.
Nicholas raised his eyebrow as Mercedes spoke, feeling the increased pressure she put on his hand. “Yes,” He turned to look into Red’s frazzled face. “It is my fault. I have been a terrible husband. I work too much and I thought that by dotting on our son, you would know that was the same love I have for you. Only, I don’t know.” He shrugged. “I don't think it came across correctly. I could tell you I want you a million times and I have, but you will never believe me. Let me show you? I’m begging you. Please.”
Mercedes inhaled sharply, it was as if he was reading from some script. Saying things she only mentioned in her own mind, or to ears she thought were closed off to her complaints. Her mind scrambled as he said all the things she’d been wanting to hear. Was this a joke? She felt like there was a game being played, an angle for him to be even more cruel later? Or maybe she was crazy. She opened her mouth to speak but in her head she never got to this part of the dream. She didn’t know what she’d say or do if he did come around. So she rushed an “okay” out, not wanting to leave him looming in his own thoughts, in case he changed his mind. “Only if you really mean it though,” she added.
Nicholas held his breath and waited for her to respond, stomach a mass of knots reminiscent of a teenager waiting for the girl of his dreams to accept a prom invitation. There was a part of him that felt dumb and weak, crushed like a bug. He had fought with so much falsehood over the last few months, husband, boss, capo or flunky. He’d made a choice the moment his wife stepped into the room. He’d gladly be her right hand if it meant she would be in his arms at night. If it meant he could erase the wryness from her face. He exhaled, the knots in his gut subsiding when she said okay. Raising her hand, to his lips he pressed kisses into her fingers. “You will see.” He promised, lacing their fingers together. “Are you ready to go home?” He asked the choice of which home hers to make. He was already home with her.
She tucked her lips in, blushing like a little girl at his gesture. Swoon by his words, the love came flooding back in - not that it had ever left. He told her she would see and unlike times before she really felt he was telling the truth this time. He laced their fingers together and she smiled a bright smile, it had been months since her pearly whites adorned anyone. At his question she nodded her head at him “yes” Mercedes told him, giddy to be by his side again and also unbelievably ecstatic to see her baby boy again. She wouldn’t wish the pain of having to be without her child on even the most hated person she knew. “Kiss me” she said sweetly to him.
Pride swelled in Nicholas. Red’s smile was radiant and he’d keep that smile on her face, whatever the cost. At her request, Nicholas gazed at the beautiful woman. Letting her hand go reluctantly, he carefully cupped her face in his large hand. He stroked her cheek, relishing the feel of her soft skin under his finger. “Absolutely.” He said, resting his lips softly over hers. He was gentle at first, but couldn’t help himself as he deepened the kiss, his hand going to the small of her back, pulling her closer.
She melted as he held her by her face, pulling her closer to him. She kissed him back longingly, her eyes rolling shut, it had hit her suddenly as passion surged between them that she made sure that she would never leave him again. She wouldn’t make it if she did, her heart was bound to him that was clear to her now. As he deepened the kiss and pulled her closer to him she smiled against his lips. “I love you” she said to him, pecking his lips twice after.
Nicholas held Red against his body. He accepted her kisses and marveled at her admission of love. He kissed her once more then pulled away reluctantly, “I don’t deserve you.” He declared, fingers sliding over the small patch of exposed skin at her sides. Kissing her forehead, as he moved them towards the door. “I love you too.” He said, opening the door with his free hand.
“Oh quit” Mercedes said bashfully to him, that wasn’t true but it made her feel warm and fuzzy inside that he thought so. The four words she would’ve never pictured leaving the closed off man’s mouth made her heart grow fonder. He said I love you and she leaned into him lovingly as they left the room. She looked at Freddie and said “your little plan worked” softly.
Freddie stood there seeing moments ago the doctor had left them alone. Alone to do what he didn’t know. As they both walked out with no known injuries or bodies laid on the floor he sighed a sigh of relief. Looking down at Tiny he furrowed his brows “what plan?” he asked as if he were confused. He looked down at his watch and said “I guess everything is as it should be” to them both casually. He was a miracle worker, thank God. He didn’t have to run, hide, or even beg to be put out of his misery now.

The Eirenic Verses but make it Southern
"Black Velvet" came on the radio while I was driving and I was immediately hit with the intense, all-consuming urge to turn all the Eirenic Verses main cast into Southerners
Cerie Korviridi: Swamp Cryptid
She's that mildly intimidating woman who scuttles into the gas station at 5 am, purchasing a whole carton of Eagle 20s and five Monster energy drinks. Why is she up so early? No one knows. May not have slept all night.
Cerie's got some book or somethin coming up, but no one's read a damn thing of hers; she's too weird. Rants about strange things, and many people are pretty sure she's a witch. Certainly haven't seen her at church come Sunday, and by now, everyone's a little afraid to ask why not.
Talks shit and gets hit but comes back for more anyway. Reminds everyone that Uileac is the undisputed mounted shooting champ in these here parts and that her brother-in-law has a sawed-off shotgun he's not afraid to use.
(Everyone in town knows that Orrinir would not use said sawed-off shotgun except for hunting or self-defense. Uileac? Well, that's a different story.)
May or may not have driven her ATV through protected wetlands going muddin' with a shrieking Haniya. Feeds all the local raccoons no matter how many times everyone tells her not to.
Uileac Korviridi: Horse-Crazy Mounted Shooter
A handsome stud on a gorgeous horse who can do tricks no one could even fathom. Facing backward in a gallop, hitting all the shots? No problem. Hell, he'll even do it after a few beers and still not miss.
The local girls swoon over his pretty-boy looks and his luscious Southern twang, but he's only got eyes for his husband. And given how terrifyingly accurate he is with a pistol, not even the most homophobic bible thumper would dare say a word to him.
Uileac is masterful with the "bless your heart" passive aggression. He'll insult you right to your face with a smile, and it's not until you walk away five minutes later that you realize he just called you a cunt.
When his sister starts shit, he's the one that has to finish it on her behalf. It's an honor thing, after all. Don't be surprised if you get a knock on the door and open it to find the barrel of a gun in your face, with Uileac calmly asking why you insulted Cerie.
Orrinir Relickim: Good Ol Boy With a Heart of Gold
Orrinir Relickim appears to be a Southern stereotype. The guy's got the flannel, the "Fish Fear Me" ball cap, the Dale Earnhardt shirt, the faded jeans and the scuffed-up leather boots.
He's big and muscular, looks like he could throw a six-point buck right over his shoulders and carry it halfway up a mountain. Drives a beat-up old truck with a shotgun in the cab and a tacklebox in the bed.
But before you assume everyone who looks like him is some rampant homophobe, just listen to Orrinir talk in his thick Southern drawl.
When you hear the words "the biggest catch," you are in fact hearing him rhapsodize about his husband, not the walleye he picked up at the lake last weekend. He feels awkward going to the big-city Pride parades, but that's more because he's a country boy who feels a bit bashful around the city slickers.
Orrinir will suck it up though, because Uileac is riding his horse in the parade, and there's nothing more important to him than backing his #1.
Haniya Aina: Southern Belle With a Bite
Haniya is the epitome of the stunning debutante. Screams if she breaks a nail, and her home is done up like something out of Gone With the Wind (without the racism, thank god).
You think you'll see her shopping at Winn-Dixie? Hah! She'd never be caught dead in the place. Actually, Haniya has no fucking clue where her groceries come from. That's someone else's job.
How in the hell did Miss Priss end up with a swamp cryptid for a wife? Well, it's simple. Cerie lets her indulge her wild side.
She's prissily fixing her makeup in a hand mirror while yawning at the Kentucky Derby, making her appearances to keep up the mirage of Demure Southern Darling. In reality, she's counting down the minutes until Orrinir shows up in his piece of shit truck.
As soon as she can, she wiggles into the bathroom and changes into a Budweiser t-shirt with cutoff shorts, sprinting into the parking lot. There, she hops into the bed of the truck with Cerie, and the four roar off, going to fuck up some backwoods trails in their 4x4s.
Just don't make her dress a deer. Icky! Her hands will get dirty!

Stir of Echos (1999)
Sink Spoilers for Stir of echos(1999)
This is like the anthesis of high tension yet both was suggested to me by the same damn person lol
So in this movie Tom (Kevin Bacon) lives in a house with his wife, maggie and son, Jake and his son basically has the temu version of the shine and can speak with ghosts. We see him do it from the get go. Tom and his wife head over to a party at his friend's house ( And his friend randomly drops a fuckin obscure racial slur, squaw, about his wife. As a native wtf-) and there he lets his sister in law hypnotize him and allow him to see ghosts. He sees the ghost of a chick named Samantha, a mentally disabled teen who everyone thinks ran away from home. Through a series of visions and crazy shit we learn that she was killed (and nearly raped) by 2 of his friend's sons and entombed in the home because one was his landlord. They get into a shoot out and one of the wanna be rapists dies by being shot, the other tried to shoot himself and one his friends died with the other being regretful. Story ends with her ghost being shown at peace and we get no justice as far as we know.
This movie wasn't particularly bad but it also wasn't particularly good. It definitely could of used a little extra run time because it very quickly shoved all the important twists into the last 10 minutes of the movie. We see Tom lose his mind after only having seen Samantha once (which feels like a slight over reaction) and Tom gets one or two visions of the future. A whole month + some weeks gets yatta yattad away in some dialogue between Maggie and her sister and judging by the constant drop of slurs and offensive assumptions, it definitely hasn't aged well. For being a horror movie, it was pretty tame. I didn't jump at anything and because everything moved at light speed, I could never get fully emersed in a scene to be afraid.
The movie was too short, too afraid to stay in one place for too long and despite me writing this review not 3 hours after having seen the movie, I can tell I'm forgetting things about it. It didn't make a splash and it surely didn't wow me. However, as a person who suffers from a mental disability, one of my big fears about this movie was how they would portray the inciting incident and how they would portray the mentally disabled girl. I didn't have high hopes after hearing the slurs and I was deeply afraid they would make her a walking stereotype of someone with mental disabilities and that they would shoot the rape scene in a gratuitous fashion, making it look more like porn than something very serious and very traumatizing. I was blown away by how well they actually handled it. The girl was not a horrible stereotype and is honestly one of the best representations of us I've seen in a while, only seconded by charlie in hereditary.
It's very important to handle the existence of your mentally disabled characters well and I could absolutely see myself in the way she carried herself and spoke. I understand her desires for a normal relationship and being taken advantage of because people assume I won't remember things or I am incapable of consent. I understand her fear when she could only repeat something she's likely been told to say before, that she just wants to go home. Very few female representations of autism and other mental disabilities are good, if a girl with autism is shown at all, most are boys and most are alright representations if not a little flat. The thing that tied this movie together for me on the field of representation is that the rape scene was not explicit, did not show underage bodies and did not try to turn it into something a budding rapist could jerk off to. It was realistic and it was serious, never laughing at her fear and showing just how hard most women have to fight to escape. It was scary, it didn't revel in the violence against her as a woman and it showed the reality of Fighting back and didn't vilify her for doing so.
Shes never violent or cruel towards Jake or Tom and she just wants to be found and wants her killers brought to justice. In a away, stir of echos is a rape revenge movie. It, of course, still falls into the shitty pattern of not allowing the victim to enact the revenge and instead puts a male protagonist, usually a father, brother or in this case stranger, in the position of Fighting back. It was realistic in showing how parents who even think their son did something wrong, are more afraid of taking away their potential instead or losing their children to the prison sentence, they would rather silence the victim than address the rapist living under their own roof. The movie never justifies or sexualizes their actions, it shows it as it truly is and this is not the only time a woman is shown as powerful in this movie. Maggie is never a damsel in distress and lisa, her sister, is shown as open about her spirituality and sisterhood even in the face of Tom's toxic masculinity friends.
This movie, for being from the 90s and earily 00s is surprisingly real and progressive about the hard topics it tackles even if it comes with some bad cultural artifacts of the time. However, even then, people were actively telling those spouting random slurs to be edgy to shut the fuck up. This movie has many flaws and it's not super memorable but for the few topics it tries to tackle, it tackles them better than many movies made today. Its not perfect by any means but I feel a modern adaption could smooth out the cracks shown in this movie and center more of its feminist and Disabled friendly themes.
6/10 sinks. I can't give it more than that on the principle of how short and rushed the movie is but I can at least throw it one bone for the topics it handled amazingly for it's time. See it but don't go in with flying expectations.
