Absolutely ugly ass CGI, eye colors which is a disgrace to the charm of bead eyes the franchise always had, Lady Rataxes looking MONSTROUS AND VULGAR (NO SHE IS GRACEFUL AND LEGETIMATELY CLASSY WHY DOING HER A QUEEN GRIDDLE 2 ? AS MUCH AS I LOVE GRIDDLE IT DOESN'T SUIT LOUISE !!!) and being SUPER MEAN AND ABUSIVE TO RATAXES WHO NOW FEARS HER FOR REAL (WHYYYY HE WAS JUST SCARED BECAUSE SHE WAS THE ONE PERSON TO PUT HIM IN HIS PLACE AND WHO WOULD GET UPSET EASILY NOT LITERALLY FEAR HER BECAUSE ABUSE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO ACTUALLY LOVE EACH OTHER), feeling much more stupid and toddler-like, ugly ass designs with some characters looking more like furries or TLK/Jungle Book characters than Babar, Célesteville which is supposed to be the elephants capital being suddenly VERY cosmopolitan (sure there were some non elephants but NOT HALF BABAR IS THE KING OF THE ELEPHANTS), Badou apparently being the only grandson of Babar meaning Babar's other kids had none on their own (I mean it is possible but DAMN the original show is all about friends AND family he could have had cousins in his circle !), Babar seeming to be the one ruler around or maybe Rataxes (as decorative and castrated as he feels in that show look how they massacred my boy) too ignoring the fact there is supposed to be an Animals Federation with kings and capitals for ALL the species and Babar is JUST the one for elephants, none of the kids feeling endearing over than "cute" and bidimensional, all these new characters while ignoring characters who are never mentionned again as if they didn't exist (POMPADOUR TROUBADOUR BASIL POMEER TRUFFLES WHERE ARE YOU GUYS)...
*inhales, exhales*
Cornelius being even more of a comic relief rather than a wise respected character who just happens to have comical moments, Cornelius still being alive and not changed despite being old already when Babar was born and now Babar himself is a fucking grandfather, Cornelius again adopting at his age a 5 years old son (YOU COULD HAVE ADOPTED HIM AS A GRANDSON AT LEAST- HOLY SHIT REALLY FEELS FANFICY), said kid being a fox because WHY NOT AND FURRY APPEAL BUY OUR SHIT PLEASE, Cornelius (AGAIN) being retconned out of nowhere as a former army medic while we NEVER EVER saw him or mention him do that in the old show and books and in fact DESPITE HIS MILITARY UNIFORM NEVER WAS A MILITARY BUT JUST AN ADVISOR AND PRIME MINISTER (THEY JUST LOOKED AT HIS DESIGN DIDN'T THEY ?), Badou having no elephant friends all his friend circles is made of all these varied species it's depressing (again no problem with having friends of other species Babar had a lot but IT IS A TOWN OF ELEPHANTS HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN MORE BABAR HIMSELF KNEW MORE ELEPHANTS THAN OTHER SPECIES) Zéphir being old like Babar and yet having a daughtet of the same age as Badou who is Babar's 8 years old grandson while she could have been his granddaughter (I mean, sure some people can have children very mate because they met the right person late but still it feels weird especially from Zéphir, very fanficy again), some animals out of nowhere suddenly hating civilization and civilized animals while IT NEVER WAS THE SPIRIT OF BABAR IN THAT UNIVERSE IT IS IMPLIED ANIMALS WERE ALWAYS SENTIENT AND INTERESTED BUT NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY IT'S ALL ABOUT ALL ANIMALS BEING CHARMED BY THE WAYS OF HUMANS AND DECIDING TO TAKE THE BEST OF IT TO ENHANCE THEIR OWN WAYS AND NOT FORGET ABOUT THEM BUT TAKE THE BEST OF BOTH LIVING IN CIVILIZATION'S COMFORT BUT STILL CELEBRATING AND ADAPTING THEIR ROOTS...
Indeed LET'S FUCKING NOT MAKE THEM DIVIDED WITH SOME SUDDENLY WANTING TO STAY NAKED WALKING ON THEIR 4 SEEING THE OTHERS LIKE TRAITORS BABAR OUT OF ALL KIDS FRANCHISES OS NOT THAT KIND OF STORY OR MADE FOR IT AND IT WON'T HELP THE DUMBASSES WHO ARE SURE IT IS A PRO-COLONIALIST METAPHOR WHILE IT NEVER WAS BUT WAS A SAD CLUMSY COINCIDENCE (the original writer and his wife before making them books were just improvising bedtime stories for their son, the future new writer, and for a little kid it is cute to take a random exotic animal and make him dress up in modern clothes and pretend he learned it from humans and because they are French and more familiar with French ways they had him follow the French way it was just to make him giggle and imagine it vividly while falling asleep BUT OF COURSE PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE TO MAKE IT ALL ABOUT THE REAL WORLD) SOMETIMES REAL WORLDS VIEWS AND LOGIC ARE NOT MADE TO BE ADDED HERE IT'S A WORLD IN WHICH ANIMALS CAN WALK ON THEIR 2 IF THEY WANT AND CAN SPEAK AND HUMANS DO KNOW AND ARE NOT SURPRISEE BY A FUCKING SPEAKING ELEPHANT CALF IN THEIR STREETS ANF TREAT HIM LIKE A NORMAL KID MEANING THEY KNOW THEY ARE SENTIENT AND YET HUNTING AND KILLING THEM IS LEGAL NO IT CAN'T HAVE MORE DEPTHS AND DIVISIONS THAN THAT NOW THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED AND THEY ARE FINALLY RECOGNIZED AS ACTUAL PROPLE OFFICIALLY WITH LEADERS AND IT WAS ALL ANIMALS WANTED SO NO NO "YOU FORGOT YOUR ROOTS >:(" DUMBASSES ESPECIALLY SINCE WE SAW SOME IN THE SHOW STILL LIVING WILD BUT BEING CORDIAL TO THE CIVILIZED...
*exhales and calms down*
For all these retcons, flanderizations, characters assassinations, wastes, lore confusions, awful choices and insults to what made the old show intemporal watchable by all, @papabirdurskeks and I both refuse to take The Adventure of Badou as an actual sequel show no matter how official sources say it is, it makes no sense they understood nothing at what made the old show and characters and in fact this whole universe endearing. We in fact prefer making our own HCs basing ourselves on that show but not taking it as the real sequel but just a non canon preschooler spinoff like Disney Junior often products about other franchises. I even considered making it a sequel to the 1999 movie buuuuuut it would insult it too without the same smarter spirit either and Cornelius isn't an army medic either in it

Note
Can you show a fanfiction of pompadour in the episodes of babar and the adventures of badou please
This might be blastphamous in this Fandom, but I actually don't really like the Adventures of Babou and haven't really watched it in about nine years. Though if you want works of Pompadour inserted in that show though, a friend of mine @nakamopapina has posted so much fanart of this and has written a fanfiction of this.

My Favourite Babar Characters
It comes to four characters who are my absolute favourites (I can’t decide between them): Basil, Pompadour, Cornelius and Troubadour.
Basil... who wouldn’t love Basil? That little rhino is both admirable and humble, and he always treats just about everybody with respect, regardless of their species or alliance. To quote King Babar, “that Basil is quite a guy!”. It was so sad yet so beautiful that Basil was willing to throw away a chance at fame just because of how glad he was to see his boss respected by his people and loved by his family in “Unsung Hero” (if only more human beings in this day and age could be a bit more like Basil, am I right?). He’s also not portrayed as a bumbling servant, but instead as a resourceful and dedicated friend to Rataxes who helps keep everything in-check while still watching from the sidelines. I just wish he had appeared in more episodes! His origin and backstory, much like Pompadour’s, is rather ambiguous, but Basil was even less developed as a character and we never really got much in that regard (I was always hoping they would do an episode on how Rataxes came to meet and hire Basil, since Rataxes always seemed like the last guy who would admit to wanting an assistant).
Pompadour was always a favourite of mine; he’s adorably conservative and high-strung, but I’ve always loved how well-developed he is. He completely shatters the overused trope of the pompous, snooty bureaucrat who only cares about himself (yes, I’m looking at you, Chi-Fu from Disney’s Mulan!). Pompadour can be very snooty, but he isn’t mean-spirited, and throughout the show he shows a great deal of compassion for others. Wanting to build shelters for the homeless was just one example, but it’s most evident when he expresses how much he actually values his friends in spite of his general attitude. Rushing in to save Cornelius during a kitchen fire, being very patient with Isabelle when he was babysitting the children even though he definitely wasn’t a fan of the job, trying to stay behind under the guise of “proper protocol” in the episode “Remember When...” so Babar could board a plane with his family and get to safety first, turning on all the lights in the palace to try and lead Arthur and the children back home after they get lost, being so understanding when Babar doesn’t want the Celesteville Express to destroy Pleasant Valley, the list goes on. It’s a wonderful change from similarly aristocratic fictional characters, e.g. Squilliam from Spongebob or Gilbert from King of the Hill, to have a character who behaves similarly but is a genuinely good soul at the end of the day. When he does go out of line, he usually offers a genuine apology as well and acknowledges his wrongdoing, something similar characters simply never do.
Cornelius is a character who I not only saw on TV, but who appeared in the original books decades earlier. I do wish he and Pompadour had more adventures on-screen together; they are such wonderful friends and the depth of that is something which has always been endearing. Cornelius is always very caring towards Pompadour, and their relationship was never portrayed in a preachy or bizarre way. Cornelius is probably the wisest character on the show too; playing Hide & Seek with the children in “Conga the Terrible” and then tricking them into thinking he’d fallen asleep, his heartfelt talks with Babar and his role as almost a surrogate father, it’s all so simple and yet so powerful simultaneously. One of the episodes which really made him memorable and a favourite of mine was “A Child in the Snow” - he’s like that wise old grandfather who understands the motives behind everything and who appreciates the mysteries of life, yet he’s rational enough to also know when to leave the past behind. In the more recent “Babar and the Adventures of Badou”, he’s still present but portrayed as sillier than in the 1990′s show, a change which I’ve never appreciated. I’m still glad though that he has managed to hold on as a character and keep reappearing in adaptations instead of being forgotten like some of the others.
Troubadour, finally, is a character who never speaks (except in the tie-in picture book series) and he’s shrouded in mystery (how old is he? Where did he come from?) but somehow he’s still hands-down one of the most endearing characters in the whole series. He idolizes Cornelius and Pompadour in a sense, always there to assist them, but at the same time he’s got his own opinion on everything, expressed only in his own mannerisms. It’s wonderful how he becomes such a beloved friend to Queen Celeste and the children, too. He even seemed to share a rapport with Celeste, something which otherwise is mostly limited to Babar himself. This was especially evident in “The Celesteville Enquirer” when she knows he was just teasing about Flora’s newspaper photos - and Troubadour hugging the children really shows how he, like Cornelius and Pompadour, is a member of the family in his own right. He was always an adorable little elephant too, scurrying instead of walking, playing along with Pompadour’s antics in “Double the Guards” and “The Missing Crown Affair” (speaking of “Double the Guards”, the way he just ate several carrots at once so nonchalantly was hilarious), but I think what truly made him stand out was his personality. He never spoke yet he was such a defining character in the series, giving him an enigmatic role so he wasn’t just reduced to a background prop.
Runners up: Rataxes, Lady Rataxes, Jacques, Victor, Chef Truffles, Isabelle, Ursula, King Babar, Madame, Babar’s mother, Queen Celeste and Conga the (not so) Terrible.

Genderbent version of Cornelius (Cornelia) and Jake (haven’t figured out a name yet) Cornelia is picking up her foster daughter, after a long day of playing for her little girl, and a long day of work for herself.
I really like how strong I made Cornelia look ‘v‘
I gave Jake overalls because they would look cute!

10 Forgotten Furry Cartoons
This ares cartoon series I believe they need to be remembered since some had reboots and movies made in the new era still the old material from which they came from has to be pointed out, but this 10 ones i found more forgotten than the rest been the #1 the most forgotten one of all, to what seems to be of my brief investigation, and if you remember some of this do not hesitate in giving it a like and subscribe to this blog! obviously I am only putting here cartoons with furry thematics where the main characters are animals, or anthropomorphic animals.
American English dub links below CLICK ON THE NAMES TO GET INTROS and OPENINGS of this Forgotten Cartoons!
But first some Honorable mentions!. (since they had got their reboots or are well remember by their fans)
1989 Babar >>> 2010 babar and the adventures of badou
1985 Pound Puppies >>> 2010 Pound Puppies
1967 Moomin >>> 1990 Moomins
1986 Mapple Town Stories >>> 1997 Palm Town
1987 The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin
NOW ON WITH THE TOP 10!!
10) Racoons
This is a Canadian animated series which was originally broadcast from 1985 to 1992, with three preceding television specials from its inception in 1980, and one direct to video special in 1984. The franchise was created by Kevin Gillis with the co-operation of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
09) Dogtanian & the 3 Moskerhounds,
Spanish: D'Artacan y los Tres Mosqueperros;
Japanese: ワンワン三銃士 [Wan Wan Sanjuushi; lit., The Woof Woof Three Musketeers])
is a Spanish–Japanese animated adaptation of the classic Alexandre Dumas story of d'Artagnan and The Three Musketeers. Most of the characters are anthropomorphized dogs, hence the title of the cartoon; although there are a few exceptions, with some foxes, wolfs, coyotes, cats, mice, bears.
08) Count Duckula
British animated comedy-drama dark fantasy television series created by British studio Cosgrove Hall Films it premiered for four series from 6 September 1988 to 16 February 1993, and was produced by Thames Television. In all, 65 episodes were made, each about 22 minutes long. All have been released on DVD in the U.K., while only the first series has been released in North America.
07) Montana Jones & Sherlock Hound (this are two separate series)
sharing this position we got two Anime Series.
Montana Jones (モンタナ・ジョーンズ Montana Jōnzu?) is an Italian-Japanese comedy adventure anime television series which was broadcast in Japan on NHK from April 2, 1994 through April 8, 1995. Studio Junio (Japan) and REVER (Italy) created the 52 episode series as a joint production. Montana Jones has a similar atmosphere to Sherlock Hound, a joint of Rever and TMS Entertainment ten years earlier in 1984. The anthropomorphic characters in Montana Jones were big cats instead of the dogs used in Sherlock Hound. It was subsequently broadcast in over 30 other countries.
Sherlock Hound (名探偵ホームズ Meitantei Hōmuzu?, lit. "Detective Holmes") is an Italian-Japanese animated television series based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series where almost all the characters are depicted as anthropomorphicdogs.[1] The show featured regular appearances of Jules Verne-steampunk style technology, adding a 19th-century science-fiction atmosphere to the series. It consists of 26 episodes aired between 1984 and 1985.
06) Samurai Pizza cats
An American animated television adaptation of the anime series Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (Cat Ninja Legend Teyandee), produced by Tatsunoko Productions and Sotsu Agency. it originally aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from 1 February 1990 to 12 February 1991 for a total of 54 episodes, in 1991, and produced an English adaption for a total of 52 episodes. The English version of the series first aired on YTV in Canada (1993) and on first-run syndication in the United States (1996). The English version became a cult hit among Anime fans due to its rapid-fire pop culture references and more farcical nature.
05) The Adventures of T-Rex
Is an animated series that aired in syndication from 1992 to 1993 in North America. The show features five musical Tyrannosaurus brothers who played to sold-out crowds as a vaudeville group for the Dragon company owned by the beautiful and wealthy Myrna while also secretly fighting crime as "T-REX," masterminded by Professor Edison. The show, an American/Japanese coproduction between C&D (Créativité et Développement), Gunther-Wahl Productions and well-known anime producer Kitty Film, lasted only one season.
04) Capitan Bucky O'Hare
Is a fictional character and the hero of an eponymous comic book series as well as spin-off media including an animated TV series and various toys and video games. He was created by comic book writer Larry Hama and Michael Golden between 1978 and 1979. The storyline of Bucky O'Hare follows a parallel universe (the aniverse), where a war is ongoing between the slightly inept United Animals Federation (run by mammals) and the sinister Toad Empire. The Toad Empire is led by a vast computer system known as KOMPLEX, which has brainwashed the toad population.
03) Rupert
Is an animated television series based on the Mary Tourtel character Rupert Bear, which aired from 1991 to 1997 with 65 half-hour episodes produced. The series was produced by Nelvana, Ellipse Programmé and TVS for the first season, with Scottish Television (now STV Central) taking over control when TVS closed. It was broadcast in syndication on YTV in Canada. In the United States, the show first aired on Nickelodeon before moving to CBS during Saturday mornings, repeats of the series came to Disney Channel on the Playhouse Disney block, Toon Disney, and on Qubo's digital service in January 2007. The show was broadcast in the UK on CITV and has recently been re-airing on the satellite and cable channels Tiny Pop and KidsCo. In Australia, the show was broadcast on the ABC public broadcasting network and on TV2 in New Zealand as part of the Jason Gunn Show.
02) The Get Along Gang
Characters created in 1983 by American Greetings' toy design and licensing division, "Those Characters from Cleveland" (now American Greetings Properties), for a series of greeting cards. The Get Along Gang are a group of twelve (and later, fourteen) pre-adolescent anthropomorphic animal characters in the fictional town of Green Meadow, who form a club that meets in an abandoned caboose and who have various adventures whose upbeat stories intended to show the importance of teamwork and friendship. The success of the greeting card line led to a Saturday morning television series, which aired on CBS for 13 episodes in the 1984-1985 season. It was cancelled in 1985 due to poor ratings, with reruns showing from January until June 1986.
01) Animals of Farthing Wood
Been a series of books about a group of woodland animals. It originated with the 1979 book, The Animals of Farthing Wood, by Colin Dann, and was followed by six sequels and a prequel by Dann. An animated Animals of Farthing Wood television series based on the books aired in the 1990s, created by the European Broadcasting Union.
The books tell the story of a group of woodland animals whose home has been paved over by developers. They learn of a nature reserve, White Deer Park, where they will be safe, and undertake to make the journey together. They form an Oath, promising to protect one another and overcome their natural instincts until they reach their destination.
