In this article, we’ll explore some of the latest releases, emerging trends, key actors, and directors in 2024, along with what makes Bollywood such a beloved industry globally.
Blockbuster Releases of 2024
The year 2024 is already shaping up to be a landmark year for Bollywood, with new Hindi movies attracting both critical and commercial success. Some of the standout watch hindi movie that have been released or are set to hit the screens in 2024 include:
1. Tiger 4
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 4 is the latest installment in the much-loved Tiger series, starring Salman Khan as the iconic spy, Tiger. The movie promises high-octane action, stunning locations, and intense drama, continuing the legacy of its predecessors. With Katrina Kaif returning as Zoya, fans are excited about this action-packed ride, which is expected to be one of the year’s biggest releases.
2. Dunki
Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki is one of the most anticipated films of the year, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The film reportedly touches upon issues of migration and the human desire for a better life. Given Hirani’s track record with hits like PK and 3 Idiots, along with Shah Rukh’s unmatched charisma, Dunki is expected to make waves both in India and overseas.
3. Singham Again
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Singham Again sees Ajay Devgn reprise his role as the fearless cop, Bajirao Singham. Part of the much-celebrated Rohit Shetty cop universe, this action-packed drama promises larger-than-life action sequences and a gripping storyline. Fans of the Singham franchise are eagerly waiting for this high-energy blockbuster, which is likely to feature cameos from other stars in Shetty's cinematic universe.
4. Sam Bahadur
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur is a biopic based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, one of India’s greatest military heroes. Vicky Kaushal stars in the title role, and the film is expected to provide an emotional and patriotic portrayal of the iconic figure. With a blend of historical drama and personal exploration, Sam Bahadur is set to offer something different from the typical Bollywood fare.
5. Baaghi 4
The Baaghi franchise continues to be a favorite among action lovers, and 2024’s Baaghi 4 brings back Tiger Shroff in the lead role. Fans are eagerly awaiting this adrenaline-pumping extravaganza.
Themes and Trends in 2024
While Bollywood has always had a mix of genres, some prevailing themes and trends in 2024 reflect the evolving tastes of audiences and the industry’s response to global cinematic developments. Here are some key trends to watch out for in this year’s new Hindi movies:
1. Social Issues and Realism
More filmmakers are delving into narratives that explore social and political issues, creating a blend of entertainment and awareness. Films like Article 15 (2019) set the trend for cinema tackling caste, religion, and inequality, and in 2024, movies continue to take on these subjects. From biopics like Sam Bahadur to dramas centered on migration like Dunki, Bollywood is increasingly focusing on stories that resonate with real-world issues, sparking conversations across society.
2. Pan-India Appeal
Bollywood movies are increasingly aiming for a pan-India appeal by incorporating elements that can connect with audiences from all over the country, transcending language and cultural barriers. Films like RRR (2022) set the stage for Hindi cinema to compete on a national level with films from the South Indian film industries. In 2024, many new Hindi movies include multilingual releases or feature actors from other industries to cater to a broader audience base.
3. Strong Female Characters
The portrayal of women in Bollywood is undergoing a significant shift, with more films focusing on strong female protagonists who break away from traditional stereotypes. Movies like Raazi (2018) and Thappad (2020) paved the way for female-driven narratives, and 2024 is no different. Actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Kriti Sanon are leading films that center around women’s empowerment, and more directors are choosing to focus on female-led stories.
4. Technological Advancements and Visual Effects
Bollywood is increasingly embracing advanced filmmaking techniques, including cutting-edge visual effects (VFX). Films like Brahmastra (2022) showed the potential of Indian cinema to match the visual grandeur of Hollywood productions, and 2024 sees even more integration of VFX, CGI, and motion-capture technology. Big-budget films, especially in the action and fantasy genres, are pushing the envelope when it comes to special effects.
5. OTT Platforms and Experimental Cinema
With the rise of digital streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ Hotstar, Bollywood filmmakers are exploring more experimental and unconventional content. This trend is visible in 2024’s slate of films, where filmmakers take greater creative risks, making movies with more nuanced narratives, darker themes, and complex characters. Streaming platforms provide filmmakers the space to experiment, leading to a diversification of content in terms of genre and tone.
Key Actors and Directors Dominating Bollywood in 2024
The Hindi film industry in 2024 is driven by a mix of seasoned actors, new talent, and visionary directors. Some of the major stars and filmmakers making waves this year include:
1. Shah Rukh Khan
Even after decades in the industry, Shah Rukh Khan remains the King of Bollywood. With films like Jawan and Dunki in 2024, SRK proves that his stardom is still unmatched, and he continues to draw in huge crowds, both domestically and internationally. His films often combine commercial appeal with thoughtful storytelling, and his ability to adapt to changing cinematic trends keeps him relevant in every era.
2. Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt has solidified her place as one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. In 2024, she continues to shine with a mix of commercial and critically acclaimed films. Her ability to portray both lighthearted and serious roles with ease makes her a favorite among filmmakers and audiences alike.
3. Rajkumar Hirani
Rajkumar Hirani is one of the most respected filmmakers in the industry, known for his ability to combine humor with socially relevant messages. His films have universal appeal, and Dunki is expected to follow the tradition of his previous works, leaving audiences entertained while also reflecting on important issues.
4. Rohit Shetty
Known for his mass entertainers, Rohit Shetty remains a key player in Bollywood. His cop universe and action comedies continue to attract a massive audience base. In 2024, Singham Again is expected to be another big hit, and Shetty’s expertise in creating action-packed spectacles remains unmatched.
Conclusion
Bollywood in 2024 is an industry in flux, adapting to new challenges, technologies, and audience expectations while staying true to its roots. With a diverse lineup of films, Hindi cinema is set to captivate both Indian and global audiences. Whether it’s the high-octane thrills of Tiger 4 and Baaghi 4, the social commentary of Dunki, or the emotional depth of Sam Bahadur, Bollywood’s offerings this year promise to be both entertaining and thought-provoking.
As the industry continues to evolve, one thing remains clear: Bollywood’s magic, with its signature blend of drama, emotion, and music, will continue to be a dominant force in the world of cinema. Fans can look forward to an exciting year of new Hindi movies, where each release offers something fresh and engaging for all kinds of viewers.

2019 ---
Hello friends! We meet again, as we do every end of year, to celebrate & reward the art of the year!
Yes, I remember stating last time that it may be the last edition of, “India’s Oscars” as I’ve heard many call it…yet, since Indie’s resolved ‘Indies All-time Hindis’ List taking more time than envisaged (100 Years of Hindi cinema, is bloody long!), decided that since movie reviewing happening incessantly (alongside other ‘living exigencies’ of course) anyway, as also for the current year.. what the heavens!!;
So here we go, tighten your seat belts, as we go for a little flying tour through the year’s national artistic clouds…& be assured plenty rains!
P.S. 1. A few alterations & additions from last year – 3 new categories introduced to encourage the film writing fraternity, namely Best screenplay, Best Lyrics, & Best Scene. And erstwhile ‘Best Designed Film’ renamed as ‘Best Visual Film’.
The award format albeit, same as refurbished from last year ie 10 main awards (incl joint awards) & 10 spl mentions thereafter in each category.
Considering the new format addition to films- The web series phenomena! Hereon, all film categories will auto-include web-series(seasons) for the year, looking at them as 4-5 times length films-in-one.
A separate 'Best Web Series' category will also be included though, for added perspective. No crying now. No guffawing. Erm Ok do that! & Nooo hitttting. Just pure unadulterated enjoying!

X) BEST SCENE :
1.Romeo Akbar Walter: Climax scene: Culminating in “He chose his motherland over his own mother!” To Vande Mataram reverberations!
The mini-battle btwn the measly 40-odd peasantry folk led by Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, guarding the provincial fort, against the mighty full British batallion.
Avuku Raju, the almost certain local traitor, at end of above battle, when comes behind the fleeing British, & to surprise of initially depressed village folk, turns against the British. And at the end comes across to Sye & says, "I always disliked you, Narasimha. For you were always better than me at everything I was good at. Narasimha chuckles Avuku: "But rest assured, I will go ahead of you, in this great noble path that is your's….one day!" To chants of "SYE SYE SYE RAA!!"
Narasimha Reddy's final speech at the gallows.
Uri-The Surgical Strike: The War Cry : “How’s The Josh!?”
Hope you folks had a great year enjoying the year's arts, & life in art… And wish you all a Great New Year 2020 up ahead!
Welcome to the Annual Bollywood Films & Web Series Awards, for the year 2020, all! Aptly described as ARGUABLY THE GREATEST YEAR FOR THE HINDI PARALLEL AND ALTERNATE CINEMA MOVEMENT!
Upon a slew of extraordinary stand-out super low budget gems, noted for remarkably gripping direction, as also in coming -of -age for the new King of Indian parallel cinema- Nawaz Siddiqui!…finally stepping up to carry the parallel film mantle, left & long voided by Naseeruddin Shah, with 3 extraordinary Indies in the yr!
As also rare achievement in this, the Ashes Era, for any film among the ~50-odd nominated, to mention this year's winner in particular, entering Indies All-Time Top 100! And a web series, finding pride of place, in Top 305 All-Time (combined)!
Furthermore, that web series era, gaining firm ground from previous yr, now coming to establish itself as space for true artistic inspiration & even gung ho chutzpah, behind as well as ahead of camera, allowing newer talent, & older divas, the space to rise up to the big screen/item challenge, differently, & in grand style & success!
P.S. : 1.Let be noted, though most widely reviewed & buzzed web series, been viewed & accommodated justiciably, a reasonable sum hasn't, for this already highly overworked team of Annual & All-Time film reviewers & compilers..& will be done justice to, if & when need arise!
Also, though Best film , Best Web Series & Best Screenplay (Film), been segregated, at the Indies, all other award categories, incl acting & directing haven't, going with Indie policy of treating Web Series (seasons) as quadruple-length films, deserving equal comparison, in technical if not effect zones!
Let's roll!

2021-
Welcome world, to another Year-End Awards Extravaganza.. "THE INDIES 2021", aka "THE INDIES ASHES 2021", also reputed as "THE BOLLYWOOD/HINDI OSCARS" !
Another highly satisfying year for both the Film & Web-Series spaces, operating for past half decade now within the Bollywood ecosystem.
The rating pts for era-ending director & actor rankings are as always : 1st place - 10.5 pts ; 2nd place - 4.7 pts ; 3rd place - 1.5 pts ; 4th place - 0.4 pts.
Also as always, just to remind Indie viewers, while Best Web Series & Best Film arenas are separate adjudications, being different effect zones… the creative aspects (ie direction & visuals & story & acts) are clubbed together, as the same for both.
And need we remind audiences of the age-old Indie motto, of rewarding quality not quantity, this year as a result producing one of the highest winners tallies at Indies, with 21 male & 14 worthy female performances, making the cut for the Indie Trophy!
This year noteworthy for producing some really outstanding performances even within the macho acting sphere, alongside some truly slice-of-life high professionals acting, alongside the inspirational orbit.
In films section, a peculiar time, in throwing up lots in really interesting & notable (even Indies award winning now!) 'Indie' work, lauded in the festival & international circuit, yet under the Indian masses radar, that hopefully the Indies Awards can help throw more light on. Also via web series arena, arising a critical mass of high concept content, necessitating a separate 'Best Story/Screenplay' Awards section!
P.S. : A peculiar trend emerging in Bollywood circles, for those keeping a keen eye on it, is the slew of (~ 50-70%) content equally dedicated to the LGBTQ, esp lesbian community & secondly the druggie communities. We'll leave it to the audiences to imagine if the truth lay in art imitating life or film industry life, or some sorta larger agenda at play. And ofcourse there be nothing wrong at all, in any content on LGBTQ community whatsoever, just an observation worthy of mention, given just its scale of representation!
So let's begin unravelling Bollywood 2021, per the Indie eye, now ! ! !

Wordpress blogpost for "The Indies 2021" !:
……….
And that's how 2021 ends for our esteemed & deeply evolving digital audiences, old & young alike !
So stay tuned for more Indie research into this hitherto uncharted tract, already more than halfway complete along it's gigantic mission !
Shabba Khair, Khuda Haafiz, Happy New Year, Jai Shri Ram, & Jai Shri Krishna, to you all !
2022-
Welcome one & all, to this, the 8th continuous year of the most prestigious & popular (contemporary) online annual Bollywood Film Awards, of the entire awards season, this whole decade-
The Indies.
NOTE: This year's scrolls, unlike past couple of years, do not include the web series segment, which saw it's boom period during the international pandemic induced lockdown for precisely those 2 years, a consequent dip in big quality film productions & produce, that in turn enabled lotsa screen talent to temporarily shift to the web space with much more confined production settings, causing lot more high quality & novel produce here…a level that's under normal circumstances since, somehow seen a drastic dip in collective work, thus causing Indies to take a call in favor of avoiding that segment entirely hereon, or atleast this year. That's not to say a few good productions may not've seen light of day, yet not enough to warrant a entire dedicated Indies awards show for the same.
As also no turnout worth any reckoning on the music front, putting paid to that space too for today.
A year marked most uniquely by the nationwide boycott of Bollywood films at the box office, done for a variety of reasons we can't precisely put a finger on, yet that had an extraordinary (read crippling) effect on overall Bollywood earnings for the year, yet since we're not in business of awarding business, rather awarding art, let's get back to our sole area of focus.
This year seeing a very strong showing from a few dubbed South Indian works (released in North & West Indian theaters), & few made in multiple languages incl of South, that not only escaped the boycott wrath, but also found favor on the art front here.
Around the same 30-odd films making it to the elite Indie watchlist here, as for most years, & a similar large pool of winners for all categories in keeping with the now worldly known 'no ceiling on quality' Indies philosophy, except the actresses section seeing only one winner after long!
So enjoy the year's best works in all different aspects, & merrily live the month & year away !
Here is your cream of creams!

Cobra Kai and the Debate Around Cultural Appropriation
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article contains Cobra Kai spoilers.
Why aren’t there more Asians in Cobra Kai?
Since Cobra Kai first premiered on YouTube, The Los Angeles Times, Vanity Fair, and other publications have called out the series for its lack of Asianness. The series also scored poorly on UCLA’s 2020 Hollywood Diversity Report. Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Carmen (Vanessa Rubio) are the only non-white main characters. This was exacerbated when the recently-released season 3 excluded Aisha (Nichole Brown), a major character of color who was a fan favorite.
Granted, Cobra Kai does have a few non-white actors in reccurring roles. They just aren’t leads. Nate Oh plays Nathaniel, but he is a minor character with minimal development. Kyler (Joe Seo) was the first bully to appear in Cobra Kai constantly harassing Miguel. To their credit, the writers made him a wrestler instead of a stereotypical martial artist, just because he’s Asian. Cobra Kai has revealed character backstories for nearly all the show’s bullies, including Kreese (Martin Kove), but not Kyler. He remains a secondary character, but has potential to emerge as a major villain next season.
Season 3 also enjoyed some added Asian representation during Daniel’s trip to Okinawa with heartfelt cameos from Tamlyn Tomita (Kumiko) and Yuji Okumoto (Chozen) from The Karate Kid Part II. While both characters figure largely in the canon, their Cobra Kai appearance was too limited to be as Asian inclusions to the main cast. Perhaps they’ll return in season 4. Maybe Johnny (William Zabka) needs to learn Chozen’s pressure point technique too. (I would love to see Johnny in Okinawa.)
This is all to say that Cobra Kai is not as diverse or Asian-centric as one might expect a property about martial arts to be. But that just makes it the latest in a long line of Karate Kid properties that has had to grapple with the reality of how karate operates in a globalized world.
In some ways, The Karate Kid was groundbreaking for Asian representation when it premiered in 1984. Daniel’s (Ralph Macchio) crane kick inevitably degraded into a mocking anti-Asian gesture. The pose is iconic, but mostly as ridicule. Even Will Smith took a poke at it when Morita made a guest appearance on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And yet, Mr. Miyagi’s (Pat Morita) remarkable backstory in the film brought attention to the plight of Japanese Americans like never before.
In Miyagi’s poignant drunken scene, we discover that he was a veteran of the 100th/442nd Infantry Battalion (a.k.a. the ‘Purple Heart’ Battalion) and his wife died during childbirth in a WWII internment camp. The scene was almost cut because the filmmakers felt the tangent interrupted the momentum of the action. In retrospect, it was likely that this very scene sealed Morita’s Oscar nomination. Manned completely by Japanese Americans, the 100th/442nd was the most decorated unit for its size and service in U.S. history.
Japan was the enemy, so the Battalion was constantly confronted by racism from surrounding ranks. The Army didn’t quite know what to do with them. They were sent on suicide missions in Europe, but they prevailed and kept coming back for more. They were awarded 18,143 individual decorations including 52 Distinguished Crosses and 21 Congressional Medals of Honor. The Medal of Honor is America’s highest award for combat valor. Miyagi has one. Recognizing the Purple Heart Battalion gave The Karate Kid a lot of soul, but Miyagi’s medal was historically awkward. The real story exposes deeper racial discrimination.
The Next Karate Kid begins with Miyagi attending a 442nd commendation. In a respectful cameo, appearing as the Senator at that event was Daniel Inouye, an actual veteran of the 442nd who lost his arm in combat. He was the first Japanese American to serve in the House and Senate, and was a recipient of the Medal of Honor. However, The Next Karate Kid came out in 1994, six years before he received it. Twenty of the Medals of Honor that 100th/442nd vets received were upgrades awarded in 2000 after Congress rectified the oversight. The only one prior to that was given to Pfc. Sadao Munemori posthumously. He gave his life jumping on a grenade to save his comrades. When Daniel met Miyagi, no living Asian vets had a Medal of Honor.
On a personal note, my grandfather was Captain Taro Suzuki of the 100th Battalion. Like so many of his comrades, he was wounded in action. His right hand was permanently crippled, and he still had so much shrapnel in his body that he couldn’t pass through a metal detector. I inherited his Purple Heart which I cherish like the LaRussos treasure Miyagi’s medal. I heard his war stories growing up. The Karate Kid was the first time I saw his battalion represented in a movie. Miyagi’s drunken scene is still intensely moving and personal for me.
Morita died in 2005 so Miyagi only appears in Cobra Kai flashbacks culled from the original movies. Although the series goes to great lengths to honor him, the lack of any Asian leads does give credence to those accusations of cultural appropriation and whitewashing. The thing is, much of the martial arts scene in the Western world has already been, for lack of a better term, whitewashed. And one character’s journey (and the real life figure he’s based on), helps illustrate martial arts’ approach to worldwide growth.
In Cobra Kai season 3, Young Kreese’s journey mirrors the real-life experience of the action choreographer of the original films, Master Pat E. Johnson. Kreese learned martial arts from his Caucasian commander, Captain Turner (Terry Serpico), who learned it while serving in Korea from Master Kim Sun-Yung. It was actually Korean Tang Soo Do, not Karate. Johnson learned Tang Soo Do from Master Kang Lo Hee while stationed as a U.S. Army chaplain in Korea. This is how Tang Soo Do spread westward. Many of the leading American martial arts proponents are not Asian.
Today, martial arts belong to the world. For generations, Asian traditional martial arts have striven to propagate themselves globally. Judo and Taekwondo have become Olympic events and Karate was going to be added in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It’s still on track when the games are rescheduled this summer. International organizations are found in every major martial arts style now and they are continuing to spread. So, it’s not entirely fair to begrudge the diaspora’s non-inclusivity.
While The Karate Kid brought martial arts to the San Fernando Valley, other films and shows have spread the martial diaspora globally. The Blaxploitation genre glorified martial arts with its own unique take on the culture. Netflix’s Seis Manos is a Kung Fu based adult animated series set in Mexico. Although it does have a leading Asian role in Chiu (Vic Chao), is this cultural appropriation? Indian movie stars like Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar have brought martial arts to Bollywood in force with films like Commando, Baaghi, and Khiladi. That’s not Asian cultural appropriation, even though India is a different region of Asia where we don’t typically associate martial arts.
Nevertheless, the international spread of Asian martial arts does not give filmmakers carte blanche to deny whitewashing and cultural appropriation. We must not go back to the days of Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins where Joel Grey played Chuin with slant eye makeup.
Whether Cobra Kai culturally appropriates Asian culture or not, it can certainly increase its diversity. The setting, West Valley High School, is attended by students from Encino and Reseda. While Encino is over 80% white, Reseda is over 50% Hispanic and over 11% Asian. Statistically, the inclusion of Miguel and Carmen isn’t enough. The Karate Kid franchise was pivotal for representation. Conversations about appropriation and whitewashing aside, Cobra Kai can at least honor the franchise’s tradition and increase its diversity next season.

Cobra Kai season 3 is available to stream on Netflix now.

★ Salman Khan guns for four back-to-back releases; aims to return to sets with Radhe by November!
August 5, 2020
Actor hopes to resume next in Nov, then confront Aayush Sharma, reunite with Sajid Nadiadwala and roar as Tiger Mirror (Feb 20) was the first to report that Salman Khan will be playing an upright Sikh cop in LoveYatri director Abhiraj Minawala’s next, which features Aayush Sharma as a gangster. The film was to roll in Delhi in April, but the coronavirus-triggered lockdown played spoil-sport. During the lockdown, Salman stayed put with Abhiraj and writer Hussain Dalal, who has penned films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, 2 States, Jawaani Jaaneman and Baaghi 2, in his farm in Panvel working on the script which is now locked. Titled Guns Of North, it will be shot in 90 days once life gets back to normal. According to a source close to the development, the film is based on the Marathi hit, Mulshi Pattern, recommended to Salman by his friend, actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar. “While in the original, Upendra Limaye’s cop was on screen for just 20 minutes, this time around, the script has been rewritten, to focus on the confrontation between Salman and Aayush, who play cop and gangster. He has almost 50-55 days work,” informed the source, adding that the extended cameo has now become a full-fledged role.
The shooting dates are yet to be decided because Salman’s first priority is to complete and release the Prabhudheva-directed action thriller, Radhe. “Around 10 days of shoot still remains. Now, they are contemplating letting go of a song which is not integral to the narrative. Salman is still at his farm and looking to resume work on Radhe in October or November. It’s a big screen entertainer, so the makers are in no hurry to release the film. If they can get back to action in the next two-three months, they will target the Republic Day weekend. If they miss that, their next consideration will be Eid 2021,” shared the source.
After Radhe and Guns Of North, Salman will move to the Sajid Nadiadwala production, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, directed by Farhad Samji, and then, towards the end of next year, to Tiger 3, which will reunite him with Katrina Kaif. “Salman has a tentative calendar in mind, but he won’t risk his health or that of his cast and crew for any work commitment. He is waiting for the case count to reduce and the vaccine to arrive before taking any decision. But after a much needed break of more than seven months, there will be four back-to-back Salman starrers. Meanwhile, he has locked two-three more scripts for his production house, which he will announce once the cast is locked,” the source signed off.

In this article, we’ll explore some of the latest releases, emerging trends, key actors, and directors in 2024, along with what makes Bollywood such a beloved industry globally.

Known for his high-flying stunts and impeccable martial arts skills, Shroff’s performance in this movie is expected to set new benchmarks for action choreography in Bollywood.

★ Reliance to help Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai get MAXIMUM screens during Eid 2020 clash?!
Feb 24, 2020
This Eid is going to see the mother of all clashes as three biggies are scheduled to release on the holy festival. Salman Khan, as always, was the first to grab this date, for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah in which he was to be seen with Alia Bhatt. When that film got scrapped, he announced Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai and assured it’ll release on the same date. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar too decided to bring his film Laxmmi Bomb on May 22, the day of Eid. Finally, the Hollywood actioner Fast & Furious 9 also jumped in this race and will also release on the same day. Obviously, trade and industry are already worried about this three-way clash. They were some problems in screen distribution even during Diwali 2019 when one biggie (Housefull 4) and two small films (Saand Ki Aankh and Made In China) came together. In the case of Eid 2020, there are three big films that will vie for screen space. Hence, exhibitors are already dreading the fight that the distributors of these films will have in order to get maximum theatres and screens for their respective films. In the midst of all this, the makers of Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai have already started talks with Reliance Entertainment. They want this company to distribute their Eid dhamaka. The modalities are being worked out. Reliance too seems interested in this deal as it’ll be done on a commission basis. Hence, it’ll be a win-win situation for both parties. A clearer picture will emerge in a few days as to whether this deal gets materialized. The decision of Salman Khan and his team to approach Reliance Entertainment is quite smart, says a source close to the project. He says, “Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai’s producers want Reliance to sell their film along with Reliance’s other two films, Sooryavanshi and ’83, as a package to exhibitors. Reliance will ask theatre owners to screen Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai in their properties if they want the other two films. And obviously, which exhibitor would not want Sooryavanshi and ’83 to play in their theatre. After all, both films are potential blockbusters. Sooryavanshi stars Akshay Kumar, is directed by Rohit Shetty, and is a part of the exciting cop universe comprising of Simmba and Singham. ’83 meanwhile is based on India’s stunning victory in the 1983 World Cup. It has created excitement since its inception and the casting of Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev has added to the buzz. Hence, if this deal comes through, then Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai will be at an advantage and might get most number of screens and single screen theatres.”
Laxmmi Bomb, meanwhile, is being released by Fox Star Studios. A trade source says, “Even Fox will try to sell Laxmmi Bomb and Baaghi 3 together. There have been no super-hits since Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Baaghi 3 can break this trend. It looks massy and moreover, this franchise and Tiger Shroff have a lot of takers. Hence, even Fox can fight it out so that even they get enough screens in Eid.” Baaghi 3releases on March 6.
Besides Salman Khan, Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai features Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff. It is directed by Prabhudheva.

While Tiger Shroff gets ready to shoot for Heropanti 2 with Tara Sutaria in December, the position of the female lead opposite Tiger in Baaghi 4 is yet to be filled. One hears both Shraddha Kapoor and Disha Patani are keen to be signed on. Disha was seen opposite Tiger in the first Baaghi film while Shraddha was his co-star in the recently released Baaghi 3.
We now hear that producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Ahmed Khan may introduce a completely new leading lady opposite Tiger in Baaghi 4. The idea is to cast a new heroine every time with Tiger in the franchise and not repeat a pair from earlier films in the franchise.
Ahmed Khan doesn’t deny a new leading lady’s presence in Baaghi 4. “It’s a possibility. We may not go for an established name at all. But Baaghi 4 will take Tiger all over the world for shooting. We have to make sure it’s bigger than the other three Baaghi films.”
Baaghi 3 which had to shut down due to the Covid19 pandemic is a huge online hit. “The numbers on satellite television are unbelievable. We may release Baaghi 3 again in theatres. I leave that decision to my producer Sajid Nadiadwala,” signs off Ahmed Khan.
