Maybe it is just because I (mun) have matured over the last decade (I hope) but reading over my old reflections on Inquisitor Matt going 'He would not go that off the rails. Given the support and advice that the companions provide him - while he does become more controlling as a reaction to his failures he's actually more level headed and understanding of the complex political environments than that.

Sure he's 22 and he's still got this very impulsive immature streak going for him - but he's being made to do so much readings on various historical and political affairs. He's also has far less freedom to throw power around than what I was writing him as.
