Seeing a lot of people ask about pc stuff so wanna throw some twist on it -
Which pc has the biggest impression of personality, & which RO (romance option) has least personality? -
Can include ro's from camp too
Shipping meme.
see, i don't think any of the PCs really stand out above the others. i mean, the original color quartet is the one with the most attached to them, but i think this is more an artifact of age and them being the first, because while they gesture in the direction of personality better than latter PCs, this is still not a very good approximation of a character, for me. they have the yearbook and they have the polaroids, and they keep turning up, so they have writing compared to some of the other PCs who have none, but... putting it all together they're still incredibly weak.
i'm obligated to say amira, but when i do say amira, don't misunderstand me here. this is not due to canon or to canon doing anything interesting with amira, and what they have done isn't exactly the most flattering (as much as i love monprom, i will readily admit it has some problems with race that really don't sit well). rather i'm not immune to headcanons, and i've come up with a bunch of personal headcanons about amira with friends and had a lot of fun working with those, which is why i'm so soft to her. i don't feel comfortable attributing that to monprom itself. fleshing out a minor character doesn't mean that they suddenly play a bigger part, etc etc etc.
as for the ROs, i have definitely noticed a change there as well. i've already talked before about my disappointment with zoe, but i think calculester also majorly suffers from this, and has a much more simplistic personality than the original ROs, and i think the way they were expanded on from their original endings could have been written so much better.
milo for moncamp is very much the weakest of all the ROs in my opinion, with me having the very least to say about them or their personality, which is kind of sad, since i was rather excited for them. this has definitely been a theme for newer ROs and characters as the series goes on, but again, i'm trying not to beat a dead horse here with my complaints about how monprom the series has changed over time and the writing quality. i also feel like milo is in a very unfair position, being the only new RO for camp, and the other characters having already been ROs or side characters, and thus far more of their personalities and character establishment and work to create that was already done. for the other characters, there are other things i can refer back to, their histories already in my mind for me to consider and use in discussing them in camp. milo has none of this, and for that, i struggle a lot more to talk about milo in a way that isn't just a trope by itself.

could you please talk about oz? he seems interesting and I'd like to know more about him and you two :)
*cracks knuckles* ohhhhh anon absolutely I can
Okay I’m gonna preface this with some info about both Oz (and my self insert lol), so for anyone unaware, Oz is one of the Playable Characters in Monster Prom, Monster Camp, and the upcoming Monster Roadtrip
Tumblr media
(^This Dork^, he’s also my go-to character to play as, he/they solidarity lol)
He’s an eldritch embodiment of Fear and his little blobs that hang out on him are Phobias, they’re technically a part of him and they are just silly little guys. Oz is pretty nervous and careful all around, although they’ve been getting more confident as the games progress, causing more mayhem and venturing out of social bounds more in Monster Camp as opposed to him being VERY anxious and worried throughout Monster Prom, and from the look of some of the teasers, we’re getting OZ LORE in the next game so I’m *rubs hands together excitedly*
As for my Self insert, I’ve talked about them a little bit on here before but I’m a Will’o’Wisp/Dragon combo, in a similar way to Oz’s Phobias I have little wisps that come off of me that’re also a part of me.
Tumblr media
(^My most recent doodle of them lol^)
Me and Oz are Platonic and both 🤝 about our crushes, general shenanigans, and being rather otherworldly in nature, we both also befriend Zoe and Calculester in MP: Second Term (DLC) as she’s another very powerful eldritch being who just wants to hang out and have a silly goofy time and he’s a funky robot trying to learn how to people and often is confused by social interactions and is willing to learn.
I’m more forward and outwardly confident then Oz like 70% of the time, and often nudge them towards participating in whatever the hourly nonsense is with the rest of the cast, the other 30% is usually from draining my social battery and Oz takes over the majority of leading for me whenever this happens so I can take a few minutes to recollect so I don’t get burnt out. We both have excellent mischievousness streaks and decent poker faces (he doesn’t usually have a visible mouth and I’m good at masking so it works lolol). We also have, secrets, relating to our species and histories and between the two of us, some of the best emotional management skills out of everyone (besides when we’re flustered lol).
We also positively SHOVE each other at Milo, Damien, and (more in Oz’s case for her), Dahlia, in every attempt to both fluster the other and help them get some. This is infinitely amusing for everyone else with more than one shared braincell which is basically just the other PCs (Amira, Brian, and Vicky) and they do NOT help and often will assist in causing romance-centered shenanigans even at the risk of their own dates much to Oz and I’s exasperation
I also have running friendships with Juan The Magical Small Latino Cat and Valerie, Oz gets along with both of them enough that Val gives him discounts at her shop unless it’s a Plot Device and Juan’ll let him pick a normal drink once a day for once instead of a magical one. They’ve all seen a lick of my usually very well controlled emotions start to go haywire in a few but memorable situations, they both have a considerable amount of respect for Oz as they’re the only one who can seem to get me to reel it back and vice versa, it’s hard to contain the uncontainable lol.
I’m the one who taught Oz back in MP how to help themselves come down from both panic and anxiety attacks, after a situation that Damien accidentally caused. I nearly dragged Damien back down to hell for it myself and definitely gave them both whiplash at not only my immediate abandonment of my own ongoing nonsense to help Oz but my ability to scrap any nervousness towards Damien to break his stubbornness in half and make him either get out of my way or help me get Oz out of there before it got worse. We look out for each other and Oz has a lot of confidence in me not taking too much bullshit from anyone else, even my love interests.
We’re both also giant fucking dorks, ain’t no party like two infodumping immortal-aligned nerds going off about who knows what at who knows when hours of the day
Oops this got more ramble-y than I meant it to but, hey! I enjoy getting to ramble lol, hope this was sufficient Anon! Thank you for giving me an excuse to go off a bit ^w^
TL;DR: We’re giant mostly corporeal nerds who don’t die easy and think we suck at succeeding in romance while also being pals the likes this school/camp has never seen

Misc. Claire Nuñez Headcanons (In no particular order):
She takes self-defense classes at the same place Barb takes Krav Maga; they don’t often see each other, but sometimes one of them will be leaving a class, as another is about to start hers
She knows CPR and keeps her certification up to date as necessary
She has worked as a life-guard at the local YMCA
After the world is finally saved for the last time, I also think she’d look into working at a summer camp with Jim
When she was a young kid, around the ages of 7-10, she would check out plays from the library, learn every single part, and then put them on for her parents
There are recordings of these, and Javier likes to show them to every guest he possibly can, much to Claire’s embarrassed chagrin
She doesn’t play video games as much as Toby does, but she also plays them more than Jim does
She prefers PC MMORPGs in the fantasy genre, and before her magic was unlocked, she would always play as a sorceress
After getting her powers, she plays as rogues
She, Mary, and Darci all play TTRPGs as well, trading off who DMs for each new adventure
She wasn’t supposed to, but she had a secret Myspace account, on which she would post music lyrics
Claire gets A’s in all of her classes, except for history, in which, while Jim is not top of the class either, he always still just barely edges her out of the grading curve
She still gets an A- in history, so she’s not as angry as she would normally be, but it definitely does annoy her a little
She can pick locks; not for stealing or breaking into places, but just because she thought having that skill would impress people and make her seem cool and mysterious
Her favorite book series is The Hunger Games even though science fiction is her second-favorite genre (behind fantasy) but it’s because she really likes the anti-establishment/protest messages, and always resents the marketing team for the series, for making it about Peeta vs. Gale, rather than focusing on the fact that Katniss is an example of how citizens can influence real systemic change
As she grows older, she and her mother fight less about her career, and more about how the world of politics is corrupt
She’s proud of her mom, of course, for being an honest politician, and for trying to fight that corruption, but she also thinks change happens with the people
As such, she’s also been to a variety of protests in her lifetime
The only reason she seems like the “reasonable” one in the trio of Trollhunters is that Jim and Toby share one brain cell, whereas she gets her own sometimes; it is stolen frequently, though
She is actually very chaotic in her own right (see: breaking into her suspicious friend’s house because he’s been acting weird, and then her friends not even being surprised that she did that)
She also loved Animorphs and Warrior Cats as a tween
Her favorite Scooby-Doo movie is The Witch’s Ghost, but after being possessed by Morgana, it hits a little too close to home
Her favorite Disney movie is either The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, or The Beauty and the Beast
She eventually learns lightning magic
Claire and Ms. Janeth aren’t quite on the level of Strickler and Jim’s relationship to each other, because Claire does have a mom who she loves dearly, but she also spends a lot of time with Janeth outside of classes, and as such, they’ve grown to be each other’s favorite teacher/student
When they’re alone, in fact, Claire feels comfortable enough to call her Lenora
Ms. Janeth has offered to babysit for Claire, if she ever feels overwhelmed
Claire is a great actor, but is also a very excellent stage manager (read: is also a very scary stage manager)
Claire tried to learn how to skateboard, but stopped after she realized that she likes roller skating much better
When she’s older, she enters roller derbies
She also keeps her javelin skills up to date, and practices frequently because “you never know when you might need them”
She’s the one who proposes to Jim
Whenever they watch Cinderella, she teases him for the fact that in their case, Jim was the Cinderella (leading a double life), while she was the Prince Charming
She went through an “I’m not like other girls” phase, but Ophelia sat her down one day and talked her through why she felt that way, and why that mindset is ultimately detrimental to both her and other girls
She teaches Jim the anti-aging magic so that she doesn’t have to outlive him
(She also offers to teach it to Toby, but he politely declines)
She promises to help Douxie and the Order teach more magic-users, to try and fix some of the Balance
Claire, Darci, and Mary still meet for brunches as adults, and eventually, they start to invite Zoe, Barbara, and Nana along
That little star projector in Enrique’s room? Claire had one too, and every so often, she still uses hers to fall asleep, on particularly stressful nights
She even takes it to her and Jim’s first apartment
She studies criminal justice and theater in college

I am STILL on my MonProm bullshit bc I’m grinding through Monster Camp so let’s do some more headcanons! This time it’s gonna be Jin’s opinions on the some of the more prominent characters from the two games, and what I think their relationships (platonic or otherwise) could be like. Obviously these are just my opinions, anyone who has any of these muses is free to disagree, ofc. I won’t include player characters (yet, maybe once Reverse comes out I will update) since the PC personality is kind of fluid to interpretation and change based on the player. There are spoilers for both Monster Prom and Monster Camp regarding main and side characters.
This is in alphabetical order just to make it easy to navigate.
Aaravi
He doesn’t trust her, straight up. She’s a monster slayer with a history of targeting demons and even with her therapy and growth in Monster Camp he’s wary. He’s worried she would turn on him and try to slay him too. He steers clear when possible but could learn to trust her if he could see her progress with monsterkind more directly.
Batniss
He really doesn’t know what she’s talking about most of the time. The main character thing is weird to him, but at least she’s interesting. He respects her combat skills and her archery prowess.
Calculester
He thinks Cal is cute, in the way someone thinks a puppy is cute. He’s just so clueless sometimes it’s endearing, like watching a baby giraffe take its first steps. On the other hand, though, something about this sentient computer robot is a bit uncanny. Since Cal is generally so nice, though, he tries not to let the whole “potential robot uprising/singularity” thing bother him.
Dahlia
He has absolutely no interest in being anywhere near Dahlia because of her reputation as a warmonger. He thinks she’s dangerous and doesn’t want to risk being the one who gives her the idea to try and invade the 2nd Circle. He absolutely doesn’t trust her, and is honestly a bit afraid of her. If he were able to give her a chance (ie probably forced to do school or camp things with her, or if they had mutual friends for some reason) he could grow to appreciate her determination and at times enjoy her exuberant personality. She has the capability to grow on him if given the chance.
Damien
Similar to Dahlia, he distrusts Damien. He knows of the LaVeys, and as mentioned in my big ol 2nd Circle/Cubi lore post sees their whole “we made love popular” reputation as a bit unearned (because I’m sorta canon divergent, but see that post for the details of that). He also doesn’t want anyone from the 8th Circle’s royal family to get anywhere near the 2nd Circle lest they try to take that over, too. He would also probably resent having to go to school or camp with a prince from Hell juuuust a bit, especially since Damien is considered one of the coolest/most well known students/campers. He would be envious of Damien’s wealth and status since that’s something he lacks, which colours Jin’s perception of him. He doesn’t know about Damien’s softer side, so he sees him as abrasive, dangerous, and annoying. Like Dahlia, if he were to give him a chance though he’d grow to like him, especially his fondness for hairstyling and makeup since Jin enjoys the latter (and being fashionable in general). He does, however, reluctantly admit that Damien is indeed hot even if he is an annoying LaVey baby.
Dmitri
Jin doesn’t really know Dmitri but he knows of him. He doesn’t really care about whatever the Coven is doing, but hey at least Dmitri is a hot vampire who never seems to wear a shirt. He doesn’t mind seeing him hanging around because he’s easy on the eyes. Jin would probably find his dramatic villain monologuing and cape swishing a bit funny.
Faith
Out of the Coven members he would probably like Faith the most. She seems pretty relaxed and chill, and he would respect her intelligence and skill as a witch. In general he appreciates the Coven’s colour scheme and fashion sense, though.
Hex
He thinks Hex is straight up irritating but if he was high then he’d probably like their company more.
Hope
His feelings towards Hope are similar to Faith. He isn’t all that bothered with their Coven shenanigans but does respect them. He would be confused by all of the Hope reincarnations but he doesn’t have much of a problem with her. She seems nice enough.
Interdimensional Prince
Although he can be kind of weird at times (maybe even a bit creepy) Jin has to admit the idea of being whisked off to another dimension by some handsome anime-alien-looking prince is kind of appealing. He would like the attention and ego-boost it would cause if the Prince ever flirted with him.
Joy
Jin would enjoy her company. They’d probably get along, but he does find her “main character saving the world” thing to be a bit Intense at times. Despite that he think’s she’s smart and cool and likes being around her, especially given how wild some of their classmates/campmates can be.
Kale
They smoke weed together and vibe. That’s all. 10/10.
Leonard
Jin wants to kick him in the face so hard that he flies into the sun. -10/10.
Liam
Usually he likes Liam and likes being around him. He appreciates his creativity and sense of taste, but sometimes Liam can be a bit pretentious and annoying. That’s fairly manageable though, and sometimes he’s quite the breath of fresh air compared to some of the more exuberant characters he encounters. Jin would especially enjoy indulging in fancy, rare artsy gourmet food so Liam could take pictures of it and he could eat it.
Milo
Out of everyone, Jin is fondest of Milo. Their sense of style, taste (wine and cheese platters? yes please), flirtatious streak (and not to mention good looks) would have Jin swooning. He would also find their personality a lot more calm in comparison to some of the other monsters at camp. The only annoyance would be Milo’s constant attachment to their phone and their somewhat self-centred nature. It takes attention away from Jin, after all. Competing egos.
Miranda
Jin likes Miranda most of the time. Sometimes he thinks her royal merfolk ways are a bit confusing, and he is a bit distrustful of foreign royalty in general but less so of Miranda; he doesn’t see any reason why the Merkingdom would attack the Cubi or really have much to do with them at all, but he knows that royal life can be vicious. He does find it interesting to hear about the culture and society of the Merkingdom, though. He also appreciates her manners and poise. Plus, they’re both pink so he’s a bit biased in that regard. Sometimes he does find the more murderous aspects of the Merkingdom a bit unsightly, and it can be a little frustrating at times trying to explain commoner things to her. He doesn’t like that he would sometimes feel a bit condescended or spoken down to by her, but sometimes this has more to do with his perception than anything she would be saying or doing.
Morty
He likes looking at Morty but his personality is a bit too self absorbed and intense even for Jin. Still, he appreciates the confidence and the sex positive energy. Sexual tension always makes rivalries better so Morty is a perfect candidate for Camp Rival Camp in Jin’s opinion and his presence is at least entertaining and engaging. Also he quite likes the heart-hole shorts, a bold fashion statement.
Polly
Polly is fun to be around. She can be boisterous, but at least she knows how to have a good time. Jin also likes that she isn’t bloodthirsty or a war criminal or something, so in theory they could just hang out like normal monsters/people. It doesn’t hurt that she can get good drugs, too.
Scott
Scott is a himbo, Jin likes himbos. Case closed. In all seriousness, he would find Scott endearing because of his good nature and cheerful personality. Sometimes his airheaded antics can be a bit annoying, but he knows Scott means well. Jin thinks Scott would be a good friend because he seems honest, loyal, and kind. Those are also qualities that would make him a good date, plus he’s a big cute wolfman who Jin wants to pet in more ways than one.
Valerie
He respects the hustle and the on campus hook-up for all sorts of oddities. Plus she’s Vera’s sister, and he has mostly positive feelings about her so by relation he thinks Valerie is pretty alright. Also soft because cat.
Vera
Vera is intimidating but he respects her, in a sense. As someone who isn’t affluent he’s more wary of her scams and often disapproves if he thinks it’s taking advantage of vulnerable people, but so long as she’s scamming rich people he’s down for it. He definitely thinks she’s smart and an interest conversationalist.
Wolfpack
Bad, stinky, 0/10. Only tolerable because of their connection to Scott but otherwise obnoxious.
Zoe
Last but not least, Jin would like Zoe. He’d appreciate her creativity and particularly her ship fics. They would have a good time talking about crushes, who should date who, and the latest books in their respective favourite series (or perhaps shared shows or books). She also tells Leonard to shove it and since he wants to punt the kappa into the sun he likes that a lot.

Kelsey in Liberia: 1 Year Later!
Tumblr media
So, it has officially been a year since I arrived in Liberia and let me tell you, it's been on crazy ride so far! I live in a small town in the Westernmost County of the country, where I teach 9th grade English and 10th and 11th grade Chemistry. I really do enjoying coming into class and teaching my students, all of whom are eager to learn. Some of my brightest students amaze me everyday with how hard they work and how much they have learned so far. It feels really good to see my students’ growth and to also see my own growth as an educator. I've definitely gotten better at it since model school in PST.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Top: A few of my students after winning a game in our after-school health club
Bottom: Students from various grades participating in a Malaria Awareness Art Contest!
A lot has changed for me since I came here. Heck, a lot has changed for me since I came here to my site. I often think of my first few days at site: those were pretty hard. I slept in my bug hut for a few days while I figured out how to hang my bugnet (a must if you want to avoid malaria… and also, spiders). My house had no current, so night time left the space beyond my bedroom door a yawning chasm that could leave one’s imagination to run wild in the wrong sort of way (still ready for an aerosol can flamethrower to use on slenderman or pyramid head or whatever weirdness my mind was conjuring up at the time xD). But I look back on those first few days and now I see how much I've made my house a home. It's comfortable and a nice little home for just me and my dog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh and back in October, I adopted a dog in my town. Her name is Tell the People  (a very Liberian dog name. I can now say it in both English and my town’s tribal language, Vai). She's an energetic little pup who's come a long way from the bony little thing she was when I first got her. And she's super adorable, as you can see!
Overall, I've made a home here. My house is comfortable and very nicely decorated. The volunteers before me left some really beautiful murals on the walls that I intend to add to in time and I even painted one of my bookshelves here a very nice sky blue! All my books and knicknacks are proudly displayed there. My kitchen is fully stocked (I drink hot cocoa and hot tea with lime A LOT more than you would expect in a place like Liberia… honestly, you get used to the heat). I've watched a ton of movies and shows in my living room, my guest room, and on my bed since coming here, and I've even shared a few movies with the kids here (we have porch side viewings on occasion). I’ve got solar current and lights in my house… I've made it home!
I've even found family here! I have my Ma here, who does so much for me in the everyday work of being here: from helping me with cooking to taking care of my dog when I'm away, she is amazing! On my birthday, which was exactly a week ago today, we made chocolate cupcakes from a cake mix I bought at the supermarket and had a great time dancing and eating cake. It was a truly awesome birthday. Not only do I have my Ma, I have my sisters, her daughters. They're also amazingly helpful and also great to talk to and sit small with in those slow hours I find myself having more of than you'd believe. I've also got my neighbor girls, Sallymatu and Zoe. They hang out with me, help me draw water and have even been teaching me how to cook Liberian food. I found a home, and I've found a family out here and those can be pretty amazing things to find so far away from where you started.
Tumblr media
Sallymatu teaching me to make Peppeh (pepper) soup.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Ma, my sisters, and myself on my birthday!
I've also been working a bunch in my community. Right now, I am currently working on a bug net distribution for my community. At the moment, we’re waiting for the nets and they're on their way! I'm looking forward to a great day of distributing nets and focusing on Malaria Education and prevention (sidenote: I'm also on Peace Corps Liberia's Malaria Committee, which focuses on Malaria Education projects for Volunteers to do). I also started a health club with the students at my school. We've done lessons on Malaria prevention (of course), sexual reproductive health and family planning, consent, and taking care of yourself when you're sick. I've got more to come in the future there too!
I've also been working on a Literacy project with the children in my community. After school, I teach the children on my porch the basics of reading and phonics with my friend and counterpart, William. We work together on teaching the kids phonics and reading and read them stories. It's a lot of fun for me!
Tumblr media
Me and my counterpart, William at a Literacy Training workshop
And those are just current projects! I've got some others in the works: Book club, menstrual health workshops, GLOW camp with some of my co-volunteers, and much much more! Hopefully, on my next post (which probably won't be for awhile… bad data/Internet, though you can always shoot me an email or whatsapp message if you've got those handy), I'll be able to tell you about it.
It's been a crazy ride since I came out here. Not all of its perfect. Trying to get home from Monrovia is always a pain (let me tell you some time about the time it took me 11 hours round trip to get home when it should normally take no more than 7 hours round trip… yikes), and there are some things here that just can grate on you sometimes (like the atms being out 9 times out of 10, or that way some people will talk to you like you just popped here yesterday and have no idea how Liberia works), but honestly, for every one bad experience I have, I have at least 10 good experiences (like the time I was having a bad day and felt better after making some people in my town laugh at a lame joke or the time a taxi driver realized I forgot my groceries and got a motorbike driver to get them to my town safely). It's been crazy and unlike anything I could've pictured a year ago… and I wouldn't have it any other way! I’ve found a home, a family, and work I greatly enjoy doing out here. I’ve become more at peace with myself. More confident and much, much happier. I’ve learned so many things and I've still got a lot to learn in the future and I can't wait for all of it!
Tumblr media
So, stay tuned for more on my PC life in Liberia! Love to all my friends and family!!!

// Just played through all the possibilities in the Monster Camp demo and I have some definite thoughts on the matter. There are good things and bad things and I just needed to unpack all of these things.
First off I gotta say, I’m pleasantly surprised that the three games are just various re-skins of Monster Prom. They each introduce new gameplay mechanics all of which brings more competition or co-op elements into the game. Something I definitely wanted to see - and intensifying of the multiplayer aspect. More opportunities to help or screw each other over. More than just fighting over locations or causing a relationship to either get better or worse.  From a gameplay perspective I really, really am eager to see the mechanics at play.
The art is also FANTASTIC, I swear the Monster Prom artists are getting better all the time. All the new art of the PC characters is GREAT. Had given me so many new headcanons and confirmed long-standing ones that I have had as well. Love how expressive it all is and all the new outfits? AWESOME. Funny.  Cheeky.
Lore and story-wise, however? I begin to have issues.
Tumblr media
First off, I could understand excluding Zoe, because she’s a DLC love interest, I’m disappointed. But I get it. It makes sense, but to confirm that they are cutting Liam out entirely in favor of characters like Calculester and Dahila doesn’t make sense to me. In a dating sim where everyone has their favorite characters to exclude one of the originals rubs me a bit the wrong way. Especially when they are working so hard to push Dahilia. Instead of taking advantage of developing his character more. Giving him a chance to shine - he’s axed completely.
Which brings me to my second issue, which is the way they are openly salty about people enjoying Damien as a character. It’s cool to poke fun at how thirsty the fandom is over Damien (because it’s the truth!) That can be really funny. I can also understand that it’s tiring to have Damien win every poll, and win every new event. However, that’s when instead you offer other options or start to let the fandom have LESS control over the direction the dev team takes. Show off other fantastic characters rather than openly bastardizing not only a previously interesting and complex character - but also people’s admiration for that character in a dismissive way. It doesn’t sit well. Imagine being THAT salty one of your characters is well loved and popular.  -
Overall though:
The Billy the Backer character was funny and had some great zingers.
VERY disappointed to hear that Vera will not be in Monster Camp. That screams of missed opportunity. Wanted to see Gorgon Millionaire vs Wild very badly haha.
Moss Mann is fucking adorable and I love them. I hope they make it in the game.
Disappointed Liam won't be in any of the base content and only MIGHT be featured in some of the stretch goals if that story is picked.
Hope any of Damien’s appearances will not be like they are in the demo. Multi!Damien was horrifying though and could have been funny IF it was more laughing WITH the fandom than laughing AT the fandom. Not just the personification of the devs disapproval.
As a further note on the above point, Damien is the only character that gets this treatment. The overwhelming popularity of Oz, for example, is not poked fun at, or how the Dahilia is liked for her appearance. If ALL the characters were made fun of in a similar way it would’ve made the level of disdain less obvious, but alas.
Some of the jokes were good, and I know this demo was more an extension of the kickstarter ad rather than an actual demo. So we didn't get to see the writing shine as much as we would when it wasn’t trying to tell us about goals -- but some of the jokes seemed to be more manipulative and disapproving of the fandom than laughing with us. (IE: The choice between adding more content from popular characters or being ‘unique’ and wanting more lore from minor NPCs. They couldn't have been more transparent).
Psyched for the game mechanics! And new outfits. I’m a sucker for in-game cosmetics.
Going to be cautiously optimistic about this.

So yeah, I actually did that before Monster Camp came out. Here are my strategies. I also don’t know how much knowledge you are come from, so excuse me if some stuff are a but to basic for you
Unlocking Stuff:
Every character has a handful of endings that will appear at random if you try and romance them. Do a few events with them and see if a secret ending shows up.
Don’t be afraid of failure. While some endings are locked behind success, a number are locked behind failing at events or failing to go to prom. So don’t be discouraged to much at not taking someone to prom. What’s more, some event allow you to fail once in the chain, so don’t reset too soon
With that said, a number of events are locked behind going to prom. If it seems like you aren’t unlocking anything new, try going to prom (not any secret endings) with everyone. Once I did that in my attempt it unlocked a lot really quickly.
A few items only unlock once you’ve succeeded at others. For example going to prom with Joy of the Coven with then open up an item to take either Faith or Hope.
The gift that keeps on giving has a number of secret endings. If the item doesn’t give you a stat change then it gives you a secret ending. Also the final secret ending is only available if you’ve gone to prom with the shop keep and you have seen every item the gift that keeps on giving can be (that means getting it and playing through to the end). For this one you might want to reset in order to get the item you want.
Actually Completing:
Each Romance Option has specific stats that you need to have in order to ask them to prom. You can find those stats on the wiki.
When you reach a choice in an event, both answers can be right, and both could be wrong. What determines which is which is your stats. Both answers relate to a different state and the correct answer is whichever stat is your higher one. If both are equal then they both work. However, which is higher might not matter is your states are either to low or high
Going back to the wiki for a second, you might want to consider using it if you want to learn the right answer. It may feel dirty but it is an option
If you are playing with the Second Term DLC or Monster Prom XXL, then you have the ability to choose either first or second semester. They do actually have different options. You can do most anything in the second semester save for I think three endings: Prankmasterz, Zoe’s origins, and Cal’s origins. I’d recommend just playing second term save for those endings.
For the Mind Control Classes item on in the Gift, there are two endings, good and bad. They counts as two different endings. One you get for succeeding 2/3 times. One you get for failing 2/3 times.
Some endings will kick other players out of games. For example I was trying to romance Liam once while my friend was playing through after getting weird drugs. She succeed which actually made me unable to ask out Liam, despite her not asking out Liam herself.
Some secret endings require you to ask out someone specific. If the event followed a specific character or characters ask out them (except the cult ring one. Despite it mostly having Liam you should ask Vera). If it didn’t follow a main romance option then go by yourself by clicking none of them
Most of the endings are accessed by buying items from the shop. As such if you are going for one of those you’ll want to pick the answers in the quiz at the start that will give you money then head to the library to get more. It may even take a few trips to get the amount you need to buy it. Your final states don’t matter with most item based endings, so just focus on money.
Play with other people if able. One of the reasons I could do this is because I have friends who loved playing together. And as long as you work with them on what endings to get, or at least who your aiming for you’ll have a good time. If you have the game on PC, you can just screen share on something like Discord. Also everyone reading a lot can just lead to a better time I find.
And that’s all I got. I hope I could help. If you got any question or if I didn’t explain something well feel free to ask.
I decide to get al the Monster Prom Endings before buying Monster Camp but I'm starting to think its not possible.... any advice?

DISCUSSION: The Holy Trinity (And Talking Dog)
DISCUSSION/GENERAL
Here’s a fun one. In starting up this blog, or whatever you call this sort of nonsense, I’ve had to re-read a bunch of comics from the beginning. Well, no, not HAD to. My promise to myself when I started this was to have read through every comic I review once and only re-read before a review if I thought it was vital/I needed an excuse to take a trip through Atomic Robo again. But this being me, I’ve done a lot of re-reading anyway, and have noticed some peculiarities I had overlooked before.
Today we’re going to talk about one of those. It’s something I should have noticed, but just never had an easy shorthand for in my head. How many webcomics spend their early strips following the adventures of two dudes, a girl, and some kind of cute animal/robot/alien? Kind of a lot of them, right? Not all, but enough that it’s a trend.
It’s related, I think, to the ‘Two Gamers on a Couch’ trope. Gabe and Tycho from Penny Arcade, Ethan and Lucas from Ctrl Alt Del, that sort of thing. You start your comic with a pair of 20-something men sitting on a couch with controllers in their hands and snark on their tongues. It’s one of the classic archetypes. It’s also a temporary condition for most. See, eventually you need SOEM kind of plot, some kind of drama, and that usually means more characters! And a mascot!
Three humans and one inhuman. That seems to be pretty stable.
Though it pains me to do so, consider Crtl Alt Del. The initial pair were soon joined by Lilah, very much THE GIRL when she first showed up, and… Whatever the X-Box robot was called. X-bot? No, I’m sure he had a name… Zeke? Sure, Zeke. For a long time, that was the core cast. Another example? Questionable Content, before it became more of an ensemble cast, centred around Marten, Faye, Dora (A rare boy-girl-girl trio!) and the ‘Anthro-PC’ Pintsize. Another, this time without a robot? Sure! Sluggy Freelance centred around Riff, Torg, Zoe, and the homicidal rabbit Bun-Bun. Zebra Girl spent much of the first half focusing on Sandra, Jack, and Crystal, and while the demonically transformed Sandra WOULD count as the inhuman member of the team, the cartoon rabbit with attitude Sam joined in and took that role by the throat. Two Guys and Guy would count but the inhuman fourth member tends to be whichever of the three humans is being extra psychotic that day.
Three humans and something zany for comic relief.
Now, they rarely stay that way. QC eventually moved away from the relationship drama between the three core cast members, instead devoting much of its time to whole secondary groups of hipsters and robots. Ctrl Alt Del was going to add a fourth human to the mix, but after some LOSS and eventual robo-murder, it turned into a joke-a-day comic instead.
I’m talking a lot about webcomics growing up and turning into something new lately, huh? Could be something in that.
So what? That’s the question, right? Why bring this up? Well, to continue with what appears to be the general gist of my discussion updates lately, this could well be another sign of a comic still getting its footing. It’s infinitely more common in the early days, in comics before their dramatic injection. It’s also one of the less helpful ones, I think. Is it not a little incongruous to have that wacky sidekick tagging along just because they were grandfathered in from the first few strips? ‘it’s a cute bunny, but it will murder you’ got old pretty quick, and that was several thousand strips ago. I may be biased, of course, as along with children, I’m in the camp that wants all cute animal sidekicks removed from fiction. Do we really need comic relief to come from a magically talkative house pet that’s going to demand SOME form of explanation a few hundred pages from now?
I don’t really have a problem with a limited cast. The ensemble isn’t for everyone, and unless you have some particularly dull protagonists you can tell a perfectly fine story with only three of them being the focus. And anyway, in practice such trios often play out as a single protagonist with two supporting  characters, either throughout the whole comic, or on a story-by-story basis. Hell, this can even apply to your shitty comedic relief animal/robot if you can make it work. Hell, that may be a better use of the cast than remaining focused on the one protagonist all the way through. Side stories can help avoid burnout from the viewers, and a truly rotation focus can allow for a breadth of storylines without having your main character bloat obscenely.
Basically, I get it. I can see why it happens.
Now, excuse me, I need to play more Zelda.
