creature updates:

the goldfish are Fine. they don't do very much. Skippy is not better, but not worse. i put a val in a jar in their tank. a few leaves got beat up on the ends but it otherwise seems okay? also i just found that their thermometer broke somehow. it is inside of a container so idk how the fuck it did that. oh well, i am keeping them at room temp now anyway, since the critter room is heated pretty consistently.

Zipper is a happy boy. the java fern has not done anything at all. the crypt dropped like half of its leaves, but the ones remaining look okay. the red ludwigia have angled themselves towards the light, but a lot of their leaves are melting and falling off and i'm worried. the baby stems that grow from the base of the leaves seem okay, though. i've been leaving in most of the melted leaves to make some mulm and nutrients for the plants idk.

for a few days Beaver sat in the corner that she had selected. on feeding day i moved her to the half-log hide that i'd added. she proceeded to move into it and i haven't seen her leave in a few days. she is just scooched slightly deeper underneath it every day. i guess she is cozy???
