AAAAA YES YES!!!! I can relate to this!!! I was also an Octavinelle disliker when I first saw the characters long ago. There wasn't a single part of their trio that appealed to me. I thought they were unattractive and I also wasn't very fond of the business formal aesthetic (although it's amusing because now that's one of my favorite fashion styles hehe). I actually started appreciating Octavinelle around the time twst was released in English because it gave me the opportunity to study more of Azul's character. Also, I didn't know much about book 3 when I went in playing it, aside from the main facts of: Azul inevitably overblots, Azul is an octo-mer, the twins are moray eels, and Azul's backstory had something to do with bullying. I remember thinking to myself when I was playing it: time to see what's so great about this sushi buffet!

And omg were they great. <3 I summoned on Azul and Floyd's banners because I was so charmed by them, but Jade was still a hard pass for me. >_< I wish I could have loved Jade back then because now his dorm ssr evades me. T_T but during that time I felt as if I didn't know how to write him properly or characterize him because I was more interested in Floyd and Azul. Now I've become his dedicated simp, so there is plenty of Jade appreciation now.

Harveston and Vargas Camp Jade always makes me so soft!!! He's so cute when he's excited to partake in his hobbies. >v< I think that's another appeal to Jade. Second off, I just love Joon more and more as each chapter goes on😭😭 Idk if anyone else is gonna agree but his character gives me the energy that a Divine Masculine is supposed to give and I just absolutely adore when he's in any scene. He's very clearly getting more comfortable around y/n and establishing his role in her life and we LOVE to see it🥹 All the kisses for him🥰

Also Jungkook is obviously still a bit of an ass most of the time, but can we appreciate how he's been gradually getting softer with y/n?? HELLO CHERRY!! I am finally answering your lovely review of Chapter Eighteen I'm very excited! I also hope you're doing well, I agree life has been so so so nuts lately (cold kicked my ass and it's hot as hell out!) BUT I digress! We do what we can!

AH okay so Tae and Y/N in chapter 18... they DID seem to take a tiny step forward but yes hard agree they have a little ways to go. Relationships are complicated and with the added bonus of all of the boys being hybrids, things get sticky LMAO. Most of them aren't used to humans treating them, well, like humans, so I think that's why hybrids such as Tae or Joon struggle with communication. That said, Y/N has all the time and patience in the world to work through the hiccups with them!

Joon BUG 😭 He really turned out to be sUCH a softie. Literally all bark minor bite. YES YES I so agree with him giving Divine Masculine vibes!!! He's very protective and comfortable being in a role of dominance, but not in a toxic way. I think he's grown to really really care for Y/N, especially since they have begun spending more time together during the investigations with Jeongguk. The fact that Y/N is interested in nurturing his interests and sharing them means a lot to Namjoon, I believe ❤️

Jeongguk the brat! I do love his comedic relief though. He might not be quite as soft as Namjoon quite yet, but he's getting closer to a Hoseok/Y/N vibe where they're besties. I like that he teases her and she teases him right back, whereas with Hoseok, Y/N is a bit more bashful with his teasing 👀 LMAOOO I love when his antlers fell off like Y/N was holding his face and he was like "this is just an average spring afternoon" ���

Yessss I've seen others say that the cleansing might have been too easy or good to be true. We shall see if any of the spirits come back to follow the Dream Team around, but the three of them are getting to be a force to be reckoned with. They also have a lifetime of adventures together 😉

“Baby,” Boyd said, taking Raylan’s face in his hands. “We’re going to be fine.” He was talking true here, Raylan knew, but his expression changed and he didn’t look him in the eyes as he added, “It’s easy to start over with that kind of money. We wouldn’t even have to go nowhere--”

“And watch them rip apart the hills? Pollute your precious hollers?” Raylan hissed, pulling away. He couldn’t talk about it without getting pissed. His head hurt so fucking much.

“Raylan--”

“Later,” Raylan said, pulling out his phone. “I wish you’d’ve said something, really, because I have to call Art now. Her wanting the property puts me far enough in this shit that I can’t be a part of the detail. It’s a conflict of interest, no matter what we do now.”

“What we do?” Boyd asked quietly. “It’s still just your land, Raylan.”

“Fuck off, Boyd,” Raylan growled. “I’d have married you years ago if that was something we could do.”

Boyd leaned back in his chair, eyes wide, at that and Raylan wondered if that was something he shouldn’t have said when they were fake fighting like this.

They stared at each other for a solid minute at least and Raylan couldn’t hold it in anymore. He said, “I’m sorry I said, fuck off and then that, I--”

Boyd smiled and shook his head. “Go make your phone call, baby.” He didn’t even add anything about the fake argument. “Tell Art--”

Omggggg. I'm SO glad you picked this to ask about because just right before this part is one of my favorite exchanges I have ever written. It's basically what I now think of the thesis of this entire fic series. Boyd and Raylan could never have come this far together if not for Raylan letting Boyd live in his house and nest in his heart and refuse to leave. Okay??

This part:

“We can start over,” Boyd said. “We’re good at that.” Raylan looked at him like he was crazy. “No, we’re not.” They’d never started over at anything. The only reason any of this was happening was because of the house, that they needed, because they couldn’t make a change without a crutch. It was just built up and built up from everything that happened before and the house was the foundation.

And then Raylan spirals because he can't see a way out of this situation even though he knows Boyd is actively taking it in hand. (He's going to figure it out, Raylan!!) And part of Boyd's plan is to get this exact reaction from Raylan, because he needs to convince Carol Johnson he really is on her side and also make things difficult for her because Raylan is so adamantly opposed to selling. But! He doesn't expect Raylan to profess his unshakeable commitment to their relationship in that very moment!

Boyd in this fic, even up until now, does not think about the house in Harlan as theirs, per se. It's Raylan's house. Always has been. He thinks of their apartment in Lexington way more as something they share. But he spent so much time over the years working on the house, specifically FOR RAYLAN, that it's like really hard for him to take on any kind of ownership for himself until Raylan is like, yeah but we would be married by now???? If life was fair??? SO ITS YOUR HOUSE TOO BOYD.

I'm also like perpetually *kisses fingers* at myself for immediately having Raylan apologize. He's Just! So! Hungover! that he cannot control his mouth or his emotions and they are all over the place because he is so! pissed! off! at Carol Johnson! This "oh shit I really said that just now" moment for Raylan is so funny and sweet. I love them so muchhh.

AND THEN THEY GET INTERRUPTED.

Anyway this is a great little collection of scenes and writing about how good it is is actively making me want to rewatch through season 2 so I can try and fucking untangle what needs to happen to end this beautiful story! AND THEN I want to write several little short fics about parenting Loretta and getting married for real and and and

I have like 5 active WIPs but I'm gonna talk about 2 in particular: wingfic au and actively modified au

wingfic has me MISERABLE because I want to go back and forth on POVs but I have no skill for Parrot's POV omggggg it's so HARD but also I have to like................contrive a way to make everything work out in the end and I'm DUMB bro. deeply tempted to just skip over all the hard parts but then that'd leave a patchy narrative.

Some of my favorite bits of it so far:

Polite Parrot

Wifies doesn't sleep in late, or even very much in general, but Parrot always wakes at the crack of dawn. He's polite about it— won't make too much noise, won't knock on Wifies’s door before noon, that kind of stuff. He was so polite about Wifies being unable to fly, too, letting his birdcage house languish as they found a different corner of the world to build an earth-bound hideout that Wifies could navigate without having to finagle an Elytra on. He doesn’t ask about it, but Wifies is pretty sure that’s because he’s waiting for the day that Wifies to arrive sleep-warm and vulnerable to the kitchen where he’ll be able to pry as much as he possibly can out of Wifies’s quiet mouth. Parrot will have to pull him to pieces to find out, so Wifies has been contemplating taking a sabbatical from Unstable. He’s pretty sure he’s falling sick, anyway, and he’s got to figure out how he’s going to check that he isn’t introducing rust into his body.

and Honey Toast

He [Wifies] wants to be done with this. He wants to crawl in a hole and be unbothered. He wants Parrot to sharpen his sword for him and make fun of him for eating honey toast, until Wifies holds a piece to his mouth for a taste.

You may be asking: saiint, why honey toast? and I say: guys please sharing a sweet little treat is all I have in this world, I love it when characters hold food out for each other!!!!

Actively modified au is from this post I made and I just cannot stop thinking about it. What if Ken and Wifies went off to a world together after the april fools stuff just to relax and Ken got to witness the material consequences of Evilfies's desires. I'm chewing on drywall. help. This one is notably less fleshed out than wingfic (about 2k words less) but I feel like it'd be easier to finish??? so I think I'll focus on it more

“Loser,” Ken calls out as Wifies swims to shore and pulls himself out. “We gotta sleep. These phantoms are unbearable.” “No,” Wifies says automatically, shaking his hair out and whipping his axe at the few stray phantoms left. “Every time I go to sleep, I wake up and something’s changed.” “What?” Ken says, daylight breaking through the horizon just as the last phantom dies. “What does that mean?” Wifies glances over, and Ken’s concerned expression surprises him. A lot of things have been surprising him lately. “Um. When I sleep. I wake up with something changed. So I try to not sleep.” “That—” Ken’s expression twists. Wifies can't tell what exactly he's feeling, but his tail is ramrod straight, fur standing on end. “That won't happen here. It shouldn't, and it won't. Nothing like that has ever happened to me in any world I've been in, and it's not gonna start now.” Wifies wants to believe him. Ken hasn't lied to him so far, not when they met or when he took Wifies’s hand or brought Wifies to a whole new world to explore, but he can't believe him now. Wifies may have lived a life full of lies and fantasy, but this was real. He knows it's real. He knows something happens every time.

Living with the Evidence:

“Ken,” he says again, voice tinged with something ugly. He looks into the river, and his mismatched eyes look back— one a pale grey, the other a deep black. “Why are my eyes different colors?” “What?? Mine are different too,” Ken frowns, pushing his bangs back from his forehead as if that’ll help somehow. “His weren’t, though.” “. . . No, they weren’t.” Wifies touches the corner of his grey eye and pulls it down a bit. There, under the waterline, is the faintest red line. If he pulls up his upper lid, he knows he'll see its mirror. “I fell asleep one day,” Wifies says slowly, turning each word over like a stone. “And when I woke up, my eye hurt. I didn’t get a lot of chances to see myself. There weren’t mirrors in the rooms, and iron tools were rare, water even rarer. But one day I finally got to see myself, and my eye was different. It wasn’t always grey.” Wifies doesn’t look at Ken. He can tell that the idea is taking root in Ken’s mind, his fingers tightening where they hold Wifies. Wifies doesn’t know the truth, but there’s the shape of a truth there, and it looms over him with a hundred sharpened teeth. “It’s not that I don’t want to believe you. I just. . . live with the evidence.”

Girldad!Eris handling skinned knees 👀 and/or tantrums (toddlers are ROUGH)

OMG Girldad!Eris when one of his babes is hurt I can't!!!

Okay, I think Eris would absolutely be a coddler when it comes to the babes. He is constantly vigilant of the girls, and making sure to keep an eye out, especially if you are taking a family stroll through the forest. You love taking the babes out whenever you can to experience the beautiful weather of Autumn, and they love nature in general. Anyway, you are out on a hike as a family, the hounds are walking ahead of the babes, and you and Eris are strolling behind them allowing for them to explore and taking pauses as needed. Twila, ever the curious babe, sees a waterfall ahead on the trail and makes a run for it. I mean this babe is toddling her way as fast as she can on her tiny legs, and you call out to her, "Slow down sweets," And the poor babe turns around to look at you mischeviously as she continues to run, giggling to herself, before she just pummels into the ground, tripping over some branch. I think Twila picks herself up in a little bit of shock as you and Eris jog over to her to make sure she hasn't hurt herself. She is already looking down at her skinned knee with fat tears streaming down her cheeks. She looks up at Eris, who has knelt down to look at her eye level, and points at her knee whimpering. OMGGGGG Eris would be sooo upset He is rushing to pick up his little girl, kissing away her tears, and brushing her hair away from her face as he rests her on his hip. "You're okay my little beloved, don't cry." Marwa begins to whimper as tears line her eyes, scared her little twin sister has been hurt. Ugh she is the best sister I cannot So you pick her up too, comforting her, "Your sister is okay sweets, just a scrapped knee." And Eris just straightens out his other arm to take her into his grasp as well.

Now he is holding both girls close to his chest, as you inspect Twila's knee and rest your hand over, using some of your magic to heal the tender skin.

Then you kiss it ever so softly, "There, Mama's kiss makes it all better."

Twila sniffles a little, fisting at her tears as Eris continues to coddle her a little, but also reminding her, "This is why we don't run without looking sweets. Okay? Let's be more careful next time."

And both the girls are just nodding up at their papa as he nuzzles into their chubby cheeks, while you press your own kisses onto their soft skin.

ALSO omg tantrums!!! Toddlers are scary!

TBH, I think Marwa and Twila are not having tantrums very often.

They are spoiled by their papa, and he rarely says no to them.

They want a tree house??? They are getting a fucking tree house.

They like the jewelry on display in the market because it sparkles??? You best believe Eris is buying three matching sets just for his babes and mate.

They want new stuffies?? They get it the next day

They want more puppies?? Puh lease, like father like daughter...

Despite being spoiled, you and Eris do a very good job at making sure the girls know how privileged they are.

You both are absolutely taking them to the women and children shelters, and they absolutely love volunteering and handing out new toys to all their new friends. They are extremely kind little girls who love their people, just like papa. 

I don't think that you shy away from punishment either. If these babes are misbehaving, Eris will be a strict father as he needs to be.

But he never ever is using the methods his father used.

You both use gentle parenting, and that works really well.

Most of the time at least.

But these are babes we are talking about, little toddlers who have big emotions and don't know how to deal with them properly sometimes, so they are going to have tantrums every once and a while.

This usually happens when the girls are pretty tired, haven't taken their nap, and are just overall cranky.

Dinner will be ready in less than an hour but the girls are wanting some sweets beforehand.

And they ask mama, you say no, reminding them that dinner is soon and they can have dessert after.

And then they try to be sneaky and ask papa who is sitting across the room from where you are, thinking he hadn’t heard your response, and because papa rarely says no to them.

So when they ask Papa, and he says no??

Immediate meltdown.

I mean kicking their feet, screaming at the top of their lungs, crying... it is not a pretty sight

At this point, both you and Eris are a little frustrated. The babes just haven't been cooperative today.

So you takes a deep breathe as you clench your jaw a little bit. They are just babes, you remind yourself silently. A sudden wave of love and affection is sent down the golden thread that wraps around your heart, filling you with a gentle warmth that causes a soft smile to tug on your face.

You look up to find you mate, your perfect fucking mate, who is already staring at you with a little mirth in his eyes.

You take a deep sigh of relief as Eris walks over to your babes who are having their tantrum, knowing he is about to take care of everything. Like he always does.

He sits down on the floor, next to the crying babes, before picking up his arms, opening them wide, waiting silently, patiently, like the perfect father he is.

The girls, who are still crying, launch themselves into Papa's arms, cuddling close into his chest as he strokes their hair, reminding them to take deep breathes.

After taking a couple of deep breathes, the girls are able to calm down enough for him to set the babes in his lap, "That wasn't very kind girls, we don't throw tantrums like that do we?"

They sniffle while trying to come up with excuses, "But papa..."

And he listens intently to all of their thoughts, allowing for them to express themselves, nodding along as you make your way towards the now settled babes.

You sit down next to them, and Marwa climbs out of her papa's lap to settle onto yours, snuggling into your chest, wanting Mama’s warmth and comfort. 

He gently reminds them, "Dinner will be ready in an hour, we don't want to spoil your appetite with sweets, my darlings. And papa didn't say no to sweets, he said you would be able to have them after dinner right? You are allowed to have big emotions my little beloveds. But I want you to be able to express yourself calmly, there is no need for tantrums."

And then he goes explains to the girls how they can express themselves better, without screaming or throwing themselves onto the ground.

He encourages them to take deep breathes when they have big feelings, and to do their best to explain it to mama or papa, because they are always willing to listen.

And mama and papa will always take the time to explain their reasoning to their perfect little girls.

You nod along, agreeing with your mate and husband, "I think our babes are just tired. But because you threw a tantrum when you know you could've expressed yourself calmly girls, I think for sweets, you will share a piece of pie between yourselves instead of having an individual piece. Okay little beloveds?"

And they sniffle again, both whispering out small "okay, I'm sorry mama. I'm sorry papa."

Eris just tugs you three close to him, pressing both of his babes into his chest and you into his side. Kissing their tiny foreheads and pecking your lips.

You smile down at your now calm babes, "We forgive you. Always."  

Anyways, so sorry this was so long, but I loved this ask!!! Truly, Eris is the best papa to his little girls and you are the best mama.

So since quarantine started I’ve literally watched Haikyuu like three times oops. Honestly if u haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend. Anyway, Iwaoi is one of my fav ships so I figured I’d make a fic rec so y’all will have some good reading to enjoy in this time of distance :))

This is hands down one of my fav Iwaoi fics ever. It feels so realistic to their relationship on the show and it so fluffy but also some angst ugh its just so cute. Basically Oikawa moves in w/ Iwa after he blows up his kitchen and things go from there.

Summary: Hajime has no idea how this situation is even possible, but he’s one hundred percent certain that it’s all Oikawa’s fault. Oikawa blames the aliens.

The Iwaoi body swap fic that this fandom needs, if not the one it deserves.

The Iwaoi body swap AU. Its absolutely adorable as they try and navigate living in each other’s bodies and how they come to understand each other’s feelings just ugh so good. 

Kotov Syndrome by valiantarmor

Summary: Corruption is brewing in Seijou's police force. Oikawa Tooru, the captain of Special Investigations, is put onto a case where he cannot afford to fail.But despite his best efforts, not everything goes according to plan.

A standalone fic in the buddycop AU series; reading the others isn't necessary if you'd just like to read this one!

Iwaoi as cops oooo boy. Honestly funny and adorable as you get to see their relationship but also suspenseful and has a great plot. This is a long one too so be prepared to get hooked. The rest of the series is also freaking awesome so I highly recommend reading all of them. 

i’m gonna be the man who comes back home to you by baekuugo (insxouts)

Summary: Iwaizumi Hajime is a single father trying to raise a teenager (or three) on his own. He thinks he does pretty okay and things are going great until he meets the Oikawa Tooru (who isn't as great as people think he is, if you ask Iwaizumi) and his life takes a turn for the best worst.

I really love the single parent AU and the author does a really good job of balancing the family relationship and Iwaoi. I just really love this one and its so wholesome but if i remember correctly there’s some angst too, I highly recommend reading.

This fic omgggg. Both Iwa and Oikawa are doctors and ofc oikawa is terrifyingly good. Basically you get so their relationship change as they get closer from working together and supporting each other. A really good read!!

One of my fav Iwaoi fics holyyyyyyy. They start off as just acquaintances and then my weakness, the fake dating AU comes in and omggggg its soooo good. Less angst than many other fake dating fics which was a nice change of pace.

This is such a sweet getting together fic omgg. Basically follows them living in Tokyo and going to uni and omgg its so freaking sweet plz read.

Summary: Tooru is pretty sure he could manage the mating habits of a mosquito. It’s the mating habits of people he can’t seem to get right.

Basically Oikawa has to give up volleyball and becomes a professor but Iwa continues volleyball and the two have drifted apart and their friendship has weakened. THIS IS SO GOOD. This is a long one but man did I fly through it, the author is fantastic!! If you love Iwaoi give this a read.

It made my heart hurt 🥺🥺 I honestly must enjoy pain cus my favorite scene is the flashback to Luna’s 17th birthday, and she wants him to come to the celebration and dance with her. But he never shows up and she turns down every offer to dance bc she was waiting for “the beautiful boy from the forest” omggggg R U SRS. It seems that they’ve been drawn towards each other since the beginning, even tho he’s been keeping his distance. Their level of pining is through the roof and I can’t wait for it to just… explode🥴 I’m so happy to have some answers!!! And I cannot wait to find out how the fight unfolds!! Yes! I think my favorite type of female lead to WRITE (I enjoy reading a variety) is a very strong woman who is also very feminine and occasionally vulnerable, but definitely a fighter and force in her own right. I admire that characterization a lot and writing it is very satisfying for me personally. Perhaps because on some level, that is who I hope to be.

Also. Who DOESN’T want to be Yoonji. For real. I do.

Yes! Jimin has carried that sense of passive rejection with him all his life and it’s been very at odds with the strong pull he feels to the Luna. He assumes that everyone feels this strong pull towards her and completely dismisses the idea that it might mean something and that it might not be one- sided. And don’t get me wrong, people are very drawn to her, but Jimin is really fighting against something deep and powerful when he tries to resist her growing up.

I am so so so SO glad you are loving the story. I am loving sharing it with you all. Truly this has been such an adventure and I can’t wait to keep going. 🥰🥰🥰
