Hi I would like to delve deeper into the oasis lore and was wondering if you have any book recs ?

I read that the supersonic book (containing all the interviews from the doc) is quiet extensive, and obvi from the sources themselves, but maybe you have other Recs that you found interesting?

we were delighted to get this ask, bc yes yes YES we DO have loads of opinions on the oasis books! Be aware that most of these cover sort of the same time period (my spirit mourns for an in-depth book dealing with the mid-to-late aughts). Presumably every publishing house in the UK circa 1996 was offering book deals to randos if they heard the name "Oasis", but these are the best ones (there are, if you can believe it, many more):

The Supersonic interviews are a definite rec -- they're exhaustive, cover way more than the doc suggests, and feature a lot more voices too. The editing job is astounding. Definitely be aware while reading that the interviews were conducted in 2015; with Oasis especially, facts and feelings change depending on time, mood, the wind, whether one is hungover, etc

Brothers from childhood to Oasis by Paul Gallagher. If one never reads any other book on Oasis, they should read this. In fact, no one is permitted to have an opinion on Noel or Liam without having read it. Paul has his blindspots, as one would expect with any sibling, but he also ofc knows his brothers and what makes them tick in a way no one else on the planet does, so!

Oasis: what's the story? by Ian Robertson. This one is somewhat controversial; the author was a bodyguard/security coordinator for Oasis and people understandably have opinions on that. Imo he's a good enough writer that he has a very clear authorial voice and perspective, which makes any worry about being fed lies moot so long as one has a brain. I appreciate he also takes some artistic risks in this book. Also, regardless of his flaws as a man or employee lol, he has a keen, at times painfully empathetic read on Liam specifically. iirc he was the only person who wrote about Oasis in those early years who had a front row seat to Liam's voice/throat problems, which lends a somewhat Cassandraic air to the whole book.......

Getting high: the adventures of Oasis by Paolo Hewitt. Oh, Paolo. What can we say. You have to read this one because it covers so much ground, just be aware it's badly written and the author is quite biased towards Noel. (I say this as a Noelist myself)

Was There Then: A Photographic Journey by Jill Furmanovsky. This is a photography book (and a fucking beautiful one) but it also has a TON of text background. Critically, it offers a perspective on the band/brothers missing from all the rest in this list -- that is, the view and impressions of two women who worked closely with the band (Jill herself and Daniela Soave, a music journalist)

Oasis, definitely by Tim Abbot. This one had a lot of personality and abbot was a creation guy so he knew the band pretty well.

Take Me There: Oasis' Story by Paul Mathur. Mathur was a Melody Maker journalist who followed them around in the early years. He had a pretty fair take on them.

The Truth: my life as Oasis's drummer by Tony McCarroll. So, obviously Tony hates Noel, like. A lot. You have to approach this book like you're giving a hostile witness a cross examination lol but THAT SAID, he does cover stuff missing from other books like pre-deal Oasis.

So if we’re all gonna suck Homer’s dick, then let’s all get on the same page that Deidamia isn’t in the Iliad. Or the Odyssey. You also gotta be careful with any source material mentioning Deidamia as most of this content was part of a smear campaign by the Italians coughDantecough.

Pyrrhus is such a random character if you think about it. Achilles was not married, otherwise Agamemnon wouldn’t keep trying to get him to marry his seemingly endless supply of daughters. Pyrrhus isn’t labeled as a bastard, but what else could he be? Achilles would’ve had to have knocked up some chick.

And isn’t it strange that Achilles would do this? I don’t want to say it’s not in character, but it seems strange compared to his prophecy-focused life. (Also, Patroclus and Achilles don’t have little bastards running around the camp, so do we really believe they’re fucking the slaves? If they’re fucking the slaves, where are the babies? Birth control and abortions were not that good in 1250 BCE. But I’m getting super off topic now.)

This is why I personally believe Achilles found a random baby, adopted it, and had Mother feed him ambrosia.

I’m very passionate about ^this headcanon of mine.

Now back to TSoA…

First off, remember that Patroclus is a LIAR. He is not just full of bologna, he’s made out of bologna. He wants us to believe he’s a feminist? Anti-war? A doctor? Achilles is perfect? Patroclus PLEASE!

But you have to respect the lies because TSoA is essentially an autobiography and lying is like the first law of autobiography writing.

I’d also like to point out the clever literary trick at the end of TSoA. The book ends with Patroclus and Thetis chatting about Achilles. She says “Speak, then” to get Patroclus to share his memories. Thus, the book is not so much an account of his life, but essentially all the memories he had to share with her. He wants to show her how glorious her son was, the side she never got to see, the human nature she shunned, Achilles’ mortality. So of course he’s going to highlight the good, even enhance it as well as downplay or even lie about the bad.

But back to your question…

What happened at Skyros? Patroclus wants us to believe a lot of non-con was going on. I low-key have a very messed up theory about what actually happened and why it happened, but I don’t want to get into it rn a blogger on here might be unhappy bcs of a related ask I coincidentally just sent them. So for simplicity's sake, let’s assume that the non-con did indeed happen. I think he told Achilles a half-truth. Something to the effect of mentioning having comforted Deidamia and given her an official farewell (of the husbandly kind) on his behalf. He used a lot of double-meaning words to allow Achilles to interpret as he pleased.

And how did he interpret what Patroclus told him? First he was relieved that he would not have to deal with her again. Then he was his usual dumb blonde self (Patroclus calls this 'trusting', Pat pls) and took the words at face value. And I wouldn't blame him for it. When traumatic things happen to you, you do what you can to cope.

And please don’t take this as victim blaming or non-con denial, but the last lines of Chapter 13 never sat quite right with me.

Sorry to keep harping on the lying. Part of me thinks the scene with Deidamia was either a hallucination-false memory sequence to reinforce that patrochilles is 2-bodies-1-soul -what happens to Achilles happens to Pat; and part of me thinks this was Pat’s sly way of showing Thetis how she hurt Achilles by enabling the non-con. Sadly, we'll never know the truth, so it's up to you what you want to believe.

one aspect i love about them: i could list a million things rn but how about. this sense of personal responsibility that is both a strength and a vice for him but in a way unique to the "great power comes great responsibility" model of heroics. duke feels like he has this responsibility to better the world, he feels responsible for his loved ones and ppl he deems under his care, but not because he's uniquely special. instead he feels like it's something everyone owes the community. he monologues abt how you can make that choice, to choose to do good or inflict evil. he holds bruce to this personally--confronting him about using his amnesia to ignore his responsibilities as batman. he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and don't get me wrong he isolates himself like crazy and tries to tackle it all alone but it's because he believes this is just what everyone should be doing. he doesn't view himself as particularly special or powerful, this is just his job. his calling !!!

the rest of the answers under the cut bc i talked a lot

one aspect i wish more people understood about them: there's a lot of really obvious answers that i'm going to skip over bc they've been said to death. instead i think i'm going to say i wish ppl understood he's not like. the mentally healthy bat. when he's not doing so hot and crumbling under the weight he has put on his own shoulders he self isolates he gets snappy and bitchy and closed off he gets into fights he gets self destructive. he's allergic to asking for help. and also he is very frequently in a bad place because he's a teenager that's what they do + in comic time he goes through like. a traumatic event every month. his status quo is constantly changing because of the nature of comics but in universe that means the longest, most stable period he's had in a while is, like, the year he spent training with bruce wayne, inflictor of mental illnesses. come on now

one (or more) headcanons i have about this character: i will elaborate on this in a post sometime but i believe his powers are about potential. snyder lore posits that metahumans somehow are created by nth metal. proximity to nth metal sparks duke's powers in a snyder comic, and duke himself is a snyder creation, so i figure this implies duke has a unique connection to nth metal. which is where i believe his meta amplification comes from in batman and the signal, another snyder comic. maybe if i read more of the snyder lore than just the duke parts i'd understand it more.

regardless, this connection to the source of metahumans could mean a million things but in line with the themes in we are robin about choice, i think it indicates great potential in duke. also, in alternate futures for duke--tales from the dark multiverse & urban legends #8-9 outsiders story--his powers have increased substantially in different directions. in the dark multiverse, his first canonical powers are amplified so much he has to actively suppress them or else he. can't see. but also those powers fuel him with one key thing that leads him to be the last survivor of the multiverse, which is his hope. and then in urban legends, future duke is just a badass who is a powerful mage???? which is something duke becomes, once again, to survive the way the world becomes. taking from a canon example, ra's and ishmael are able to invert duke's powers entirely, giving him his umbrakinesis. literally what other meta can this happen to!! anyways, my headcanon is that because of his inherent connection to the source of metahumans, his great power lies in the potential to become whatever he needs to be to keep fighting the good fight. whatever he needs to be to keep trying to make the world better. i think in the canon timeline, where the future will never become desolate, where duke will never become so desperate, he won't need to unlock his full potential, and he wouldn't choose to, because he's not that kind of guy. but the potential simmers under his skin, waiting for when he does need it. when he chooses it.

one character i love seeing them interact with: how do i choose one. i'm going to speed run a bunch of them. cass & duke are genuinely such supportive sibs like they back each other up it's so nice to read!! my besties!!! bruce & duke is interesting in the way duke comes from the era where they start pushing the fanon batfamily more, and so you get a bruce that does seem more supportive, and it really is bruce's healthiest relationship w a mentee bc he 1) positively reinforces duke 2) has never beat him up nor tried to. low low bar. but you can still see. bruce harps on how duke's the future of heroism. how he is going to lead the way, how he's "something different." and he pushes duke, and trains duke personally and assigns him day shift and puts him on the outsiders. and duke feeds into that by insisting the mission IS bruce's responsibility. they make each other worse is what i'm saying. jeff & duke are fun for opposite reasons, because jeff believes in duke just as much but also can intervene and stop duke when needed. just a nice positive relationship with an authority figure for duke it's nice :D

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more: pipe dream. renee. i have a very self indulgent au draft where duke becomes renee's mentee instead through sheer stubborn force of will and she is so annoyed with him all the time and also after the 5th or 6th time this teenager tracks you down as you work various cases you get a little fond. she'd never say that to him though are you kidding he'd get worse and more annoying. mainline renee and duke could have a fun detective story as well i think as two ppl with very different ways of operating who use their individual strengths to solve the mystery and also throws in juxtaposition of the ways their depressions manifest in there or smth. my other answer that doesn't throw my 2 dc faves together is duke meets anissa and jen pierce i think that could be fun!! jeff introduces them and then regrets it. also i wish damian and duke talked more after robin war the post-robin war dynamic that lives in my brain is great

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character: going to keep this one short bc i've said so much already. i headcanon the narrows as a large neighborhood in gotham and park row/crime alley as a smaller, really well-known part of that neighborhood, to avoid having 2 worst neighborhoods in gotham. anyways this means jason and duke grew up in the same neighborhood and oh boy do they rip each other a new one for that. half the time their convos are incomprehensible to non-narrows residents bc it's just insults from coming from opposite sides of the neighborhood and those insults are very narrows-specific. jason texts duke during the climax battle in batman and the signal and goes "how tf did you let narrows go to shit your first day. i wouldn't have let this happen. crime alley kids are just built different ig"

It involved “alters”, and mind control, and MKULTRA “triggers” that would conveniently come into play if ever BC said or acted lovingly with Sophie in public. That wasn’t REALLY him - that was his ALTER on the red carpet!

Of course, when some pointed out that the supposed “trauma” that is believed to be the source of DID, had to have occurred BEFORE BC even met any of the Birkins in school, Aeltri had to start spinning even more malicious and ridiculous yarns about Wanda abusing and “pimping” her beloved child and Freemasons involved with multi-generational vendettas, and Sophie being the linchpin in a satanic murdering cult, etc.

Usually the Haters try and keep things vague to give themselves SOME deniability, but they do tend to fuck up (especially nowadays).

One recent BIG mistake was saying Sophie had contracted TERTIARY SYPHILIS and was receiving palliative care. That morphed into CANCER, but really, that was YEARS ago and everybody can see she is healthy, busy working on her operas, being a mother and advocating for causes that she and BC care about. So… not deathly ill ! Nowadays Gator would rather not talk about THAT and acts like she NEVER said Sophie was dying!

There are lots of other examples of when the Hater narrative collapsed under its own weak foundations, but it would take too long to list them all.

I think the important thing to realise is, all these LIES, all these ACCUSATIONS, all these SLANDERS don’t bear close examination. If you do try to “fit” them together you quickly see THEY DON’T MAKE ANY SENSE!"

Malken is the Darklord of Nova Vaasa. I am told that some find beauty in the endless plains of grass and mud of Nova Vaasa, though perhaps that was just in comparison to the desolate squalors that make up Nova Vaasa’s settlements. The ecosystem is quite suitable to horses far more than humanoids and the Vaasans do love their horses. I remember a young serving girl from my youth that was quite obsessed with horses and dreamed of having one of her own one day. It was all she ever talked about. That girl lives on in the hearts of every single Vaasan.

Nova Vaasa mirrors its dreadlord’s dual nature. In whatever beauty one finds in the monotonous sea of grass lies venomous snakes, deadly plain cats, and a number of mythical beasts, most having a horse-like appearance from undead skeleton warhorses to herds of nightmares. Some of these tales are built from peasant superstition, others are quite real. In Nova Vaasa, there is always something lurking beneath the surface. Even a kind, helping hand could turn into something unseemly once one’s back is turned.

One cannot write about Malken without discussing Tristen Hiregaard, for they are one and the same. Tristen, unable or unwilling to recognize his own sins, would argue against such a factual statement, but Tristen is as much a Darklord of Nova Vaasa as Malken is. This young lord’s story starts with his father, Romir Hiregaard, as many son’s stories often do. They are our legacy after all, disappointing as some may be…Ahem, I digress. Tristen was born into a family of aristocrats and had a noble upbringing and was groomed to become a Knight of valor by his father. The nobility and peasantry of their land held Romir and his family in high regard; note that, if one wishes to insult one of the Hiregaard family, pronouncing their surname in a particular way with a bit of venom on one’s tongue always does the trick.

According to historical records, Romir was known as a fair and just ruler to the people. Private, family accounts, on the other hand, indicated he was most irrational when it came to his wife’s affections and flew into rages whenever he even thought about his wife potentially laying with another. There was no rational behind this blind jealous, for his marriage was one built from love and not one forced upon him for political reasons. Of course, some men are incapable of acknowledging their own shortcomings and deflect them upon another; in Romir’s case, it was his wife. Such jealousy often leads to violence and Romir was no different. When he chanced upon his wife in the arms of another man, he slew them both in a blind rage.

When the rage ebbed, it was only then that Romir realized his wife had simply been receiving dance lessons from an apt tutor. His wife cursed him with her last breath to ‘kill any woman he loved and any man that crossed him’. A strange curse, truth be told, but the dying are rarely coherent. Romir was unable to face the consequences of his own actions and took his life instead of living with his curse. As such, the curse was passed on to his son, Tristen. Something I doubt Tristen’s mother had intended.

The curse laid dormant within Tristen’s soul until he fell in love and shared his first kiss. Tristen found himself overwhelmed by desire to kill the girl and barely resisted acting upon it. Worst of all, Tristen found he enjoyed the act of taking her life. Now, there are some that would say this was the curse and the curse alone and others who believe it was something he had always been capable of. I believe it is a little of both, for Tristen continued taking pleasure in murdering those he developed tender feelings towards, taking nine more lives.

Tristen could have avoided courtship if had truly desired to cease his murderous tendencies, but he believed the only escape was the same path his father had chosen before him – to end his own life. However, before he was able to finish the deed, our tormentors interfered and allowed his ‘cursed’ side to take on a life of its own as Malken. Malken and Tristen share a body and while Tristen attempts to do good in his life, Malken enjoys tormenting his other half and murdering as many people as he can. Tragically or hilariously, depending on your point of voice, Tristen spent years trying to find and bring Malken to justice, only to discover he had been chasing himself the entire time.

Tristen and Malken continue to fight one another. A futile effort, but they persist, both hoping that they will eventually be free of the other. That, of course, is naturally something our tormentors would never allow.

Confined in a prison of their own making, Tristen married Katya Chekiv purely for political reasons. As most such arrangements go, theirs was a loveless affair. Despite Malken’s obvious taste of killing the lover’s Tristen had on the side, this ‘do gooder’ continues to seek love outside of his marriage. Katya bore four sons with Tristen and, because our tormentors are very bad at letting things go, if Tristen were to ever perish, Malken would likely live on within one of his sons.

The tale continued within the accounts entitled “The Enemy Within”, tells a slightly different story. In this version of their history, Tristin himself was cursed and Malken was always something he had the potential to become, not a curse inherited by his father. Given Tristin’s tendency to show one face, yet think the opposite (a common trait amongst the nobility) and his pleasure at committing violent acts, this is an accurate description of his character.

Within the good doctor’s latest book, Myar Hiregaard is the Darklord of Nova Vaasa. She was a war leader and united the tribes of the plains of Nova Vaasa. Though, much like von Zarovich, she found leading during times of peace dull. This is not something I can sympathize with, there are countless tasks and responsibilities one must uphold while ruling a land. Myra does not share my thoughts on these matters and instead of seeing to her people, she incited hostilities amongst the tribes and sent her forces to stabilize the situation through brute force. She did this many times and the Mists eventually took her. Within Ravenloft she is split into two, Myar and Malkan; Malkan showing their face whenever Myar’s bloodlust overwhelms her.

Interestingly, before the latest *ahem* experiment of mine, Myra was one of Tristen’s sons and served as an ambassador to Darkon. He resided in the mining village of Tempe Falls and I ensured his memories would not be replaced while he stayed in my realm.

This Darklord is forced to share the body of someone who believes they are a good person, though careful study leads me to conclude otherwise. They’re trained in an array of weaponry and quite deadly with martial weapons. Still, they lack self-awareness and blind bloodlust is anything but refined. I shall be generous and give them two skulls, one for each persona.

Well, I'm over my anger, but I will write anyway because I consider that a large part of the incident is Sainz's fault, first of all, looking at the onboards and cameras, you can actually see two things 1) Sainz was moving to the left 2) Checo visibly not continued in a straight line.

But with that information I would say some aspects.

Charles was in front, Sainz had to adjust because he was to overtake his teammate and Checo is behind without distancing. Checo was on the left side (in the middle) and Sainz on the right (next to the wall). Sainz turned to look where Checo was (important point), but since he didn't see Checo directly next to him, he moved so that Checo wasn't there. But one thing I think we forgot about the whole situation. This was happening too fast, so that we understand the situation, the videos are slowed down. Therefore, the situation is not fully understood if we put it normal, but one thing we see is that Checo was moving slowly to give distance, but Sainz ended up moving the car as if Checo was not there. Bc he didn't see him, he didn't see it when he turned to look at his head, but I'm sure he would have seen it if he had looked in his rearview mirror.

For people who argue that Checo would have given him enough space (moved to the left) it would not have happened- but therein lies the fact that I would not give the space in the way that people would want for two reasons: 1) Not in a way to avoid it because you don't think that the car next to you is going to move abruptly 2) It's not going to happen the way you expect, because this happened too fast.

You can see how fast it was and Sainz's confusion is a great example of what I'm saying, he didn't see Checo so for him it was simply like hitting the wall, that's why his radio was confusion, also, notice that his car is still moving forward, so he wasn't thinking enough to move his foot off the accelerator, and the fact that he will stay longer in the car than Checo is that he was still trying to understand the situation.

Checo, on the other hand, even in his interview said exactly what I'm saying here, but I'm just stating the obvious because many people don't see/read what Checo says and prefer to believe anyone else because it's better than believing/listening to Checo. Apart from that, in some way I feel good about saying it because maybe someone will understand what I'm saying here. And I'm getting rid of some of the discomfort that comes from hearing/reading people simply say whatever they want without knowing exactly what happened and they just repeat words without understanding them.

Apart from that I would simply say that RB supports Checo, (CH, Max, HM), also the way the 3 of them stood on the podium (81/16/63) when they saw the incident says a lot about what happened.

And if anyone takes into account the words of the FIA as a reason to ensure that it is correct, really understand that the FIA does not take into account the results of the incidents. Which in my personal opinion, is the worst way to take it into account, because it is not a "maybe-..." It is like what it is and that is how it ended. One thing I would like to point out is that in the end there is no logic in the actions of the steward, because their warnings cannot be taken seriously because when something big incident happens, they behave like this, more for the bias and they hate Checo bc of the racist/xenophobic aspects of the stewards. So yeah- they are simply going to attack Checo for aspects that european drivers would not pay enough attention to, for these and possibly more reasons, FIA ain't a reliable source to consider what happened and what the situation means.

Say what you want, but the whole incident makes people (again) start to be xenophobic and racist towards Checo, so tell me what is made up while I read comments regarding Checo being the "typical stereotype" of a "violent Mexican" or an animal

Regardless, Checo actually lost valuable points for the team, McLaren is P1 (it was going to happen, but hey, it would be minus 20 points difference) and if Checo had finished at least in P4, there would have been fewer points. Oh, and Max gets called for something stupid. The repetition clearly shows that they only want to blame Max bc it's Max

If someone says that Checo is a dangerous driver, I'm just saying that in Monaco he ended up being hit by KMag and here was hit by Carlos. If you were at fault for a crash, you would end up stuck to the wall for "causing" it. Yeah? (No)

Hi hello I think it was @/dededaio that brought it up. All the Allies against Kirby.

Remember how my last comic post had Mags designing an anti-possession spell? He probably places it on every Ally (except Kirby bc he knows that dude isnt possessable). And for a while, it works!! No Dark Matter fuck is able to touch them without anyone becoming aware of its presence. Usually, the blobs are destroyed on the spot, or sent away. And no one bats an eye bc these things showing up is apparently just another Tuesday.

That is. Until one clever Dark Matter manages to figure it out.

This is a spell with a lock and key. The lock is the spell that keeps them out. And the key is its source — the Halcandran mage himself.

The fucker fights with the guy, trying to bust through the spell hes placed on himself. The source of all the other anti-possession spells on everyone. Because of course hes placed himself in the center…

Eventually, things start to get bad. And Mags calls for Kirby to help him- but he gets there too late. The last thing Kirby sees of the mage is the dark matter settling over him, and its eye appearing in his mouth…his last words begging Kirby to save him… and then he was gone, disappearing into a dark cloud that amassed up above.

So yeah, everyone gets possessed!!! Shit!!! But wait, whos this? Marx — hes not possessed? Well. Guess its hard to possess a shattered mind (and fight with someone who devoured an eldritch being (cough) Nightmare (cough). The guy is PISSED! His friend just got POSSESSED and the fucker has RUN AWAY! Kirby finds him wreaking havoc someplace, probably against a dark matter beast thing. Trying to get info out of it once hes done.

The two would travel together, setting each Ally free, with a counterspell Marx has come up with (honestly I think he just fucking bites through the spell bc hes. Hes Marx and hes got strange powers). And with each one freed…things start to get rocky.

Some believe Marx and Kirby; that Mags got possessed by Dark Matter and the eyeball fuck is using the spell against them. Some believe the opposite — that this is Mags’ biggest scheme, his biggest trick, and what the two saw was nothing but an illusion he’s put up. All the Dark Matter are actually just illusions. Hes been known to summon enemies before (Dream Collection, and his fight in RTDL), he could just be doing that! All this. All this is just some grand show, to wash his hands off of the crime hes done, “if Kirby somehow manages to free them all before they kill him.”

Marx is understandably pissed the fuck off with the Allies against Mags and probably tries to maim them. If this was a scheme, hed be included!!! Hed have acted possessed like all of them! But they are trying to convince him that Mags has betrayed him for this shot at control. And he nearly succeeded.

“If thats the case, hes a bigger dumbass than I thought! He knows BETTER than to let me off the leash. I CAN LITERALLY BITE THROUGH HIS SPELLS. HE IS POSSESSED, AND I KNOW IT!!! YOU CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE.”

Then the argument turns into Marx being Mags’ accomplice, as always. Trying to convince them that Mags has done no wrong. Which…doesnt make sense?? Even Kirby notices the flaw. Why allow a counterspell to complete domination and control roam free? Without Marx, Kirby would have likely been killed (assuming all the possessed Allies worked together). But here he is. Being a thorn to Mags’s side if this was a scheme. The argument then turns back to the first — it was a betrayal, and Marx is just hiding that fact, for SOME REASON.

“Hes pretending that Mags is possessed because he wants to be seen as one of the heroes from the start, instead of a previous accomplice. The mage tried to possess him and it didnt work. And then the angered Marx decided to destroy all his plans in revenge.”

“I AM STANDING RIGHT HERE AND THAT IS A BUNCH OF LIES!!!”

Im not even going to think of the aftermath yet. Everyone indeed sees that its Dark Matter. But all that distrust towards what is, by this point, a reformed Mags…hes going to find that out.

Hes not gonna be happy that Meta was at the forefront.

i’m wishy-washy on the gay part but i believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY in aro dean. also i have been relatively inactive in this fandom for like a year so my apologies if i am forgetting things

as far as i can remember he only ever expresses romantic interest in cassie and lisa, and i think it’s significant that he originally met both of them when sam was at stanford and the only reason he had any sort of long-term relationship with lisa was because sam was dead and had told him to go find her. i think he is motivated by family and companionship and belonging, and he ran to romantic relationships to find that when the family he already had collapsed. and as someone who’s really absorbed and internalized a lot of the patriarchal, heteronormative, amatonormative, capitalist, etc. messaging of our society of course if his birth family is gone he’s going to try to find family the only other socially approved way. his gf in what is and what should never be is a random model his psyche inserts bc it’s what he’s supposed to want and he basically ignores her the entire time in favor of family. maybe i’m just projecting bc i know sometimes i feel this pressure to find a romantic partner not because i want one but because i want companionship and commitment and my friends are all coupled up so where the hell else am i gonna find it but i do really see that in dean. i’ve seen the siren from sex and violence used to support wincest and bizarrely destiel but to me it just solidifies aro dean. platonic love is what’s important to him and what he feels strongly enough for it to be destructive and all-consuming.

as Fernando Alonso and my tiger parents all said, "if you're not first then you're not winning" and boy, we have a lot of losers to pick out from this historic silly season. although it's fair to say that this was a W for entertainment, no one in the paddock has left the piasco unscathed, but some had it worse than the other. who, ultimately took the L in this situation? let's take a look at the contestants:

- daniel ricciardo: lost his seat at mclaren after repeatedly stating he was committed to them and humiliatingly making a state of the union at the mtc; reputation as a driver is hanging by a thread due to incompatibilities with the papaya chassis; could be either out of a seat or having to drive for alpine/haas which is lowkey the same thing; still the people's princess somehow and bagged a lotta money in the process tho.

- oscar piastri: invented a copypasta that will remain a staple of the community for years; not only burned all bridges with alpine but also with tons of other ppl in f1 who are now suspicious of him; got called out with peace and love by jenson button on sky sports; still has mark webber as a manager; did manage to get the seat at mclaren (historically an ok to good move for rookies) and is the new Australian Supreme apparently.

- fernando alonso: honestly he wasn't even the architect of the behind the scenes drama but he took advantage of the whole situation in front of him to commit the most hilarious acts of shithousery. only reason he is in here is because he will drive for aston martin next year.

- sebastian vettel: also not directly related to this but his retirement created the environment for the whole chain of shithousery that enabled fernando to have the best time ever. a possible L if AM does well next year but even if they do i think he checked out anyway.

- otmar szafnauer: moved from aston martin to alpine in hopes to have a more serious team, faced with the french admin instead; last one to know about everything that happens there; got ego murdered by fernando multiple times throughout the ordeal; has to be the spokesperson and call piastri out for his lack of integrality while everyone is laughing at him bc the rookie got em. - andreas seidl: has to be mclaren's spokesperson while zak brown is in hiding trying to lure more drivers to the mclaren roster; just wants to be an engineer in peace but is doomed to work for mclaren. - zak brown: american; collecting drivers like infinity stones; while you were reading this he created a mclaren team for the north macedonia f5 championship; will be the person everyone will point at if the piastri/norris link up flops; enemy no1 of the daniel ricciardo nation of fans.

- mclaren's 100 drivers except pato: all believed they could have daniel's seat; highlight for alex palou that lied for this, died for this, sucked and fucked some guy for this. - mick schumacher: somehow in all of the scenarios that doctor strange saw he is out of a seat. literally isn't involved with any of this and out of a seat if haas won't renew him; potentially out of the FDA which is the greatest Ls of them all in my humble yet correct opinion.

- esteban ocon: ignored by the alpine admin when it comes to his preference of nando replacement; potentially forced to drive with his rival (who is also his fathers' archnemesis' son); still in a stable contract though and in ok form so maybe not that bad; also managed to survive through a partnership with fernando alonso after all. - pierre gasly: potentially forced to drive his rival (who is also his fathers' archnemesis' son); might get to leave the red bull mass incarceration complex and catapult himself into french motorsports history for good which is as much as he might get in his career tbh.

- alpine: french; as a whole institution is in shambles; remains intact as an icon of the midfield anyway. - netflicks: might be out of their no1 source of content if daniel doesn't manage to get a seat for 2023; will def see little to no content from piastri's side; zak brown will hand them the script for mclaren's POV episode and it will be very Corporate Cool; might get to do a French Alpine episode in 2023 though which might work for them;  - danielrinas: had to endure a year and a half of this shenanigans; didn't get to enjoy the summer break; are living from daniel's monza win; falling to their knees at walmart.

first of all, LINK???? PWEASE? Second of all, YES. THANK YOU. Like, as someone who deeply relates to jgy on the level of the constant lying specifically and who is trying very hard to learn to be honest with people who I trust and who I want to trust me... what Nie Mingjue did wrong wasn't assuming that jin guangyao was lying to him. He was! Like, canonically, he was doing that whole human experimentation and demonic cultivation thing with xue yang behind aeveryone's backs and also possibly getting pressured to assasinate Nie Mingjue specifically. Where nmj went wrong was assuming that the way to stop that was to enforce consequences. "be honest with us or else" This makes sense for his background as a clan leader who mainly deals with other clan leaders- aka powerful men who believe themselves to be above consequences and therefore do whatever they want- and the years-long period where everyone lied to his face about his dad's murder because that was more convenient for them personally. But it very notably DOES NOT WORK WITH JGY. Nie Mingjue has no idea how to create a safe environment for jgy to be honest with him. If a guy believes that he's gonna have his head sliced off with a saber if he tells you about all the shit his dad is making him do then he's obviously not gonna do it, da-ge!

As you said in a previous post (I'm just gonna start linking your metas like academic sources everytime I talk about 3zun tbh) Xichen's manner of not asking and not judging actually makes him the easiest person for jgy to trust and potentially be honest with. Except it also makes him very easy to not be honest with. That's the paradox. he's the safest person to tell the truth to but the reason he's so safe is also the reason jgy can continue to not say anything for so long.

A real life method i've employed in my own life when i was lying to someone is admitting that to a 3rd person who i'm not as scared of dissapointing first, and THEN once that hurdle is cleared, and maybe i've had time to brainstorm solutions with this 3rd person, finally telling the other. This is where all of 3zun come nicely together, because xichen will never ask but nmj could say "if you don't want to tell me at least tell Xichen." and that would probably work pretty well. (if this is canon he'd have to get over that one time xiyao were both hiding the spy thing from him but remember this is the universe where they're trying- or even an au where that did not happen- and in general he does trust xichen and would think jgy being more honest with lxc is a net good.)

(And if i may project EVEN MORE from my own life, I find that sometimes telling the truth to someone who's as kind as xichen is actually harder because you don't wanna burden them and the more personal issues a person has the safer they feel for me because they can't really judge me about also being fucked up so uhhh... for all the fic writers out there for maximum hilarity in a modern au you could make xue yang a person they do this with. If only for the psychic damage it would do to mingjue to have xue yang be a positive influence on his relationship.)

I would imagine a nieyao in a 3zun context who are trying to make this work would have a lot of conversations with nmj trying (and, at first, failing) to bite back his anger and a decent amount of guilt tripping on jgy's side (i know i lied to you before but i'm trying to be BETTER and if you never trust me that doess't help and you're so angry and mean all the time you know this is why i don't talk to you because you never react well. i've said all of these things before myself.) And the point is that these conversations go the exact same way regardless of whether meng yao is actually lying or not. The key to lying to a person who doesn't know you is telling a good story. The key to lying to a person who knows you very wel is knowing exactly how you act when you're being honest, and specifically how you act when you're falsely being accused of lying.

And slowly they would less often end in shouting matches. Jgy would go from guilt tripping to 'I really appreciate that and I will remember that the next time something is wrong... which is not right now. Because nothing is wrong." and Nmj would learn to say "fine, I'll stop, but if there IS something tell me later" or redirecting to xichen. And over time, even if they still end without a confession, jgy might come in a week or 3 days or even few hours later, make sure everyone was in a good mood first and then go. "Ok fine. Something is wrong here's what it is." and then the conversations slowly become less and less frequent as they learn to better communicate from the beginning.

This got away from me and i've basically started writing fanfic of my own. WHOOPS! anyway. what you said. nmj and lxc each have their own methods of communicating with jgy that can be expressed in healthy and unhealthy ways depending on the circumstances. And any au where those circumstances are better would still preserve those methods.

I cannot stress enough how MINOR of a petpeeve this is and how this is an interpretation that i'm comfortable with other people having even if i personally do not but I've noticed in a lot of 3zun fics, if jgy is holding smth back- generally his own feelings because his natural reaction to conflict is to make it Go Away and so if his emotional needs are the potential source conflict he will simply Not Look At Them.- That between nielan Xichen is the one who's worried and presses for comunication and Mingjue is like "Meng Yao is an adult if there was a problem he'd say so."

And I get why this is done, because nieyao's communication is generally atrocious and Xichen is the Gentle One who'd want to make sure a-yao is okay. So I get it. But. Canonically. The person going "I know a-yao, we trust each other, I don't need to ask him, he'll tell me on his own terms." is Lan Xichen and the one going "If Meng Yao doesn't want me to know something he WILL hide it from me and i'll have no idea because he's just that good at lying" is Nie Mingjue. And in a healthier nieyao dynamic, as these fics work under, that knowledge would not lead to automatic distrust but rather a desire to check in, to go: please remember that I value your honesty more than whatever you think you would burden me with by telling me what's going on.

Xichen also wants honesty and open communication ofc but his reaction to conflict is also to make it go away as fast as possible and he feels like saying it constantly feels accusatory so he wouldn't. If he asks if something is ok and a-yao smiles and goes of course er-ge checking again if it's really okay would be implying he was lying the first time!! He's showing his trust in him!! This is really refreshing if you're constantly assumed to be untrustworthy and meng yao appreciates it so much and it works really well 95% of the time but when it doesn't? Oh boy.

Hi! I don't want to start anything on here and am always willing for civil conversations. At this point there's so much I've found out about Seb (besides the video he liked, the tommy lee thing, and the girlfriend thing) that I feel so guilty if I would continue to support him. I love him sm but it just doesn't look good rn. He is associated/follows an organisation (for helping veterans) that has posted a blue lives matter flag picture and who's co-founder has sexual assault allegations against him, and worked with him in 'The last full measure'. His friend Paul Walter Hauser has done blackface in the past, and when called out on it he just listed a few people that also did blackface. There's more, I found a discussion on here that I can link. I seriously don't support "cancel culture" bc I don't think it helps anyone but there are just a lot of 'mistakes' and shady people that can be linked to Seb, I wish it wouldn't be that way. I honestly don't know what to think about it anymore.

Hi! I’m also open to having civil conversations and I don’t believe you’re trying to start anything. I really do think this situation of dragging up a four year old video and taking it completely out of context is harmful not just to Black people, but to fandom/activism in general. This is gonna be long because I’m going to take your points one by one, and I want to preface this by saying that I will not answer any derogatory, sideways asks pertaining to this subject. I will delete every single one and will block your silly ass. I’m not going to argue with people who think I’m blindly supporting Sebastian because I’m just trying to get fucked by him, or people who think I hate myself and am trying to appease some white man.

So, on with the discourse!

The video he liked - this video was taken completely out of context and that is my main issue with this whole situation. It was not a video of a white man saying that he thinks he should be able to say the n word as everyone claimed it was. They were quickly debating on whether or not it's okay to say in rap lyrics. He was told no, that's not okay, that's never okay and they moved on from it. That's it. End of story. That somehow was twisted into a click bait style headline of "Sebastian Stan likes a video of a white man defending his right to say the n word" when that is absolutely not true. My other issue is that people are more upset that Sebastian liked the video than they are about the white man in the video literally saying the n word. So, do you really care about the use of the n word like you're claiming? Cuz if you do, you'd be more upset at the white man that said the word than you would be about the white man simply liking the video. Or, are you just using this as an excuse to grandstand against a white man you don't like?

The Tommy Lee thing - Sebastian Stan playing Tommy Lee does not make Sebastian Stan a bad person. Is Charlize Theron a bad person for playing Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute who started murdering men? Is Leonardo DiCaprio a bad person for playing a slave owner? Is Edward Norton a bad person for playing a nazi sympathizing racist? Actors play bad people. That doesn't mean that they themselves are bad people. 1990's Tommy Lee was a bad person, but that should have no bearing on who Sebastian Stan is or his character as a man.

The gf/Paul Walter Hauser thing - Why are we holding Sebastian accountable for what the people around him are doing? Again, why are we more upset that Sebastian is associated with people who have done questionable things than the specific people themselves? I'm not going to speak on the kimono wearing -- I'm not Asian. It's not my place to say whether or not its offensive because it's not my culture, but she posted that picture and attended that party before she started dating Sebastian, quite possibly before she even knew him. Same with Paul. I think that black face thing was long before he knew Sebastian. Now, if Sebastian was defending these actions, going around saying "I think it's okay for white women to wear Kimono's" "I think black face is fine" "I think white people should be able to say the n word" then we'd have a different story, wouldn't we? But that's not what we have, and that's not what he is doing. He is not responsible for the things his friends do or have done in the past just because he's more famous than they are, and he is not required to speak on them. Let's put it this way -- would you be comfortable having to be responsible for something a friend of yours did before you knew them? Would you want to have to be forced to answer for your friend when you yourself had nothing to do with the questionable behavior?

The organization that supports the military/blue lives matter - Sebastian cannot control what message that foundation puts out and it does not mean that he is or is not pro-police himself. There is not enough concrete evidence -- if any evidence for that matter -- that Sebastian is a blue lives matter supporter. Did Sebastian donate before they put up the blue lives matter post? Or after? I don’t know, cuz I don’t follow him that closely, but if he donates before they come out with a particular stance, that means he should be held accountable for that? I know I donated to an organization once and they turned out to support something that i’m 100% against. That means I’m a bad person because I couldn’t see into the future? Another point, how can we be certain that Sebastian saw the blue lives matter post in the first place? I know I’m not online 24 hrs a day, I miss posts all the time and I’m just an average person. I make three or four tumblr posts a day, and I’m gone. I have to play catch up on social media, and even then, I still miss stuff. So I’m sure the same happens to a working actor. As for the co-founder, I don't know who this person is and would rather not get into any allegations against them because I don't want to trigger anyone who comes across this post. If Sebastian knows about these allegations, is a willing participant/supporter of this person then yeah, that's pretty shitty, but we don't know the inner workings of this friendship/acquaintance/work relationship. We don’t know how close they are or if they even still speak.

I’m a pretty big fan of Don Cheadle. He’s a stand up guy, he’s a great actor, he’s funny, he’s political and stands up for what he believes in and in a very public way. I support him. Don Cheadle is also friends with Chris Evans, RDJ, Mark Ruffalo, and Letitia Wright (just to name a few). Chris Evans has a bipartisan forum that highlights/promotes right wing politicians, RDJ defended Chris Pratt during the whole “he’s the worst Chris in Hollywood” crap, who’s technically done black face, and who once said to a female reporter “nice tits” when she walked into the room, Mark Ruffalo just walked back his support of Palestine, and Letitia Wright retweeted/supported an anti-vaxxer/anti-trans Pastor who equated an ingredient of the covid vaccine to the devil because it contained some parts of the word Lucifer. Does that mean Don is now a bad person because he’s friends with these people? Why isn’t he getting any heat for his friendships with them? Why isn’t he being held accountable for what they’ve done and said? Oh right, because he’s not a white fave. So people don’t care one way or the other, which brings me to my next point. 

I can guarantee you that if Sebastian’s gf or Paul or this co-founder were not associated with Sebastian in any way, nobody would give a shit about her wearing a kimono, about Paul doing black face, or about the co-founder/organization being blue lives matter supporters and in that lies the actual problem. Being critical of people and their actions should be consistent and should happen all the time -- not just when they interact with your white fave. That’s when it becomes performative and looks like you just want to be able to show internet people that you follow/support/stan unproblematic celebrities, when really, you don’t care.

I think the moral of this post is that I think it's unfair to hold a complete stranger to a standard that I cannot hold myself to. I also don't view celebrities the way most teenagers/twenty somethings do, and that’s because when I entered fandom we didn't have social media, so I grew up with a wall between myself and said celebrities. There is no wall now with the presence of social media. "Fans" nowadays have a weird ownership feeling over celebrities because they can read their personal thoughts or view personal pictures and think that they have this personal quasi-friendship with them. I can't get on board with that. I prefer having the wall and I still keep the wall.

If supporting Sebastian makes you uncomfortable, then by all means, stop supporting him. Just make sure you are making this decision for yourself based on credible sources and concrete evidence and that you're not letting this fake woke activist mob make you feel uncomfortable. Internet activism means nothing unless you put your money where your mouth is in your real life and 90% of the social justice internet warriors do not. Real activism is bigger than changing your avi to a black square.

♡ you sighed, crossing your arms over your chest - you knew he was a bit boyish sometimes but you never expected him to be so childish in regards to a simple request

♡ ‘bokuto, i have so much on my plate!’ you cried, tightly gripping the sheets underneath you, ‘planning the wedding, going to work, doing almost every chore in this damn house and filing all our fucking taxes!’

♡ you momentarily paused to look at him, expecting a look of sympathy but instead getting an eyeroll which prompted you to continue, ‘and all i am asking for is you to run a few errands! that’s it! why are you so opposed? i thought you enjoyed grocery shopping?!’

♡ bokuto pulled his night-shirt over his head as he stormed to his side of the bed, ‘it’s not fun without you!’  he whined childishly, plopping himself down next to you and gasping when you had the audacity to shuffle away from him

♡ ‘it’s not supposed to be fun, bokuto!’ you yelled, completely fed-up with him at this point, ‘a few errands, that’s all i ask of you!’

♡ bokuto notices how your voice shook and your lashline glistened; he didn’t want you to cry so he begrudgingly gave it, but with a strong comment to go along with it so you knew that he really didn’t want to 

♡ 'fine! i don't need you anyway!'

♡ then proceeded to dramatically pull the duvet over himself and pout, averting his gaze to the wall opposite 

♡ in this context, he hoped that you’d understand his comment and not take him too seriously but since you were already on the verge of tears, this simply pushed you over the edge

♡ you buried your face in your hands and hid under the blanket in hopes he didn’t realise you were crying but his senses are just different when it comes to you so try stifle that sob all you want, he’s still going to hear it and he’s still going to instantly pull you into his arms while frantically apologising 

♡ ‘please don’t cry, (y/n)! i really didn’t mean it- i do need you! i love you so much, my life wouldn’t be the same without you! you do so much for me and i am so sorry for not showing you how grateful i am! like you’re so pretty and kind and talented and smart - only geniuses can do taxes - so i’m just so lucky to be with you and i can’t wait until we’re married. please, don’t leave!’

♡ eventually his praise slowly became pleas as he begged for you not to leave/hate him

♡ he does not want to lose you bc of a silly comment he made-

♡ eventually his endless pleas started to become more than background noise to your sobs, so you finally hugged him back, whispering, ‘i can’t wait to marry you too, kō.’

♡ this action lifted a massive weight off his chest and he let out an audible sigh of relief, his grip on you loosening, ‘mhm, and of course, i’ll run the errands, babe. i suppose, it’s the least i could do.’

♡ you hummed in agreement, glad that a part of your mental stress had been relieved, allowing you to finally relax in his arms and perhaps doze off in his loving embrace

♡ ‘mm, you smell like marshmallows, (y/n)- can i add marshmallows to the shopping list?’

♡ he spoke as if you were making some crazy, otherworldly request but in reality, all you were asking was for him to take paternity leave to help you care for the baby 

♡ you’re not really a baby-expert so you thought that sakusa would be happy to stay home and learn how to care for the child with you - as a couple, as a team 

♡ but he was extremely opposed to the idea, spewing out a much of nonsense as to why he needs to go to work, but a part of believed that he just didn’t want to deal with his child - or maybe, he didn’t want to deal with you

♡ ‘sakusa, how do you expect me to raise a whole baby on my own! they need a lot of attention - i don’t think you understand how big of a commitment this is, you can’t treat it like a hobby!’ you cried, having long before burst into tears because your mind told you the worse - that he didn’t actually love you, he lied about wanting a kid, he lied when he said ‘i do’.

♡ usually during arguments when he notices that you’ve started to cry, he’ll drop everything he was doing to shuffle over to you and wrap you in arms, then whisper sweet-nothings into your ear until you feel better but today, he showed little consideration to your emotions as he continued pacing through the living room while you bawled your eyes out on the couch

♡ ‘i thought you loved (c/n)! you were so gentle around them but it turns out you’re not even willing to take a paternity leave to help take care of them!’

♡ ‘what happened to the man i married?’

♡ ‘kiyoomi, you need to revaluate yourse--’

♡ you wouldn’t allow him to get a word in, which was probably for the best considering he had nothing good to say 

♡ but you were forced to cut yourself off when heard the sound of shattering so you immediately search for the source of the noise and there stood sakusa, his hand resting on the decorative table in the place your framed wedding photo once was - now, it was laying smashed on the ground surrounded by it’s own glass shards

♡ he pushed it off like the petty bastard he was

♡ while you sat stunned, staring the mess he just voluntarily made, he quickly turned on his heel and strolled away at a leisurely pace, 'my life was a lot easier before you entered it.'

♡ that was the last you heard of it for the next three days - you were giving each other the silent treatment 

♡ you couldn’t have any sort of grain for three whole days bc they are all on the top shelf and you usually make him grab it for you but you refused to talk to him- 

♡ you were the first one to break it though as you noticed that he hadn’t went to work for the last three days and curiosity got the better of you 

♡ ‘kiyoomi.’ you called out to him from the kitchen but he didn’t even look up from his book - ‘parenting for dummies’ - causing you to scoff, ‘why aren’t you going to work? did something happen?’

♡ finally, he sighed and shifted his gaze off his book but only to shoot you demeaning look, as if you were stupid, ‘paternity leave, duh.’

♡ the corners of your lips twitched into a smile, which you quickly forced away when you recalled the events that occurred three days ago and the hurtful things he said, instinctively looking over at the decorative table to remind yourself of what he did 

♡ but to your surprise, the picture was no longer laying on the ground, pooling in shards of glass but rather, it sit on the table with a brand new frame - which had both of your initials engraved onto it along with the date of the ceremony

♡ you didn’t need to choke out an inquiry as sakusa noticed your stunned expression and answered on his own, ‘i bought a new frame. i hope you like it.’

♡ of course you liked it; this one was a chic black with silver decals which matched your living room aesthetic way better than the other, tacky blue one did - plus, this one was customised which made you love it even more

♡ ‘i do. i really do. but i don’t like your attitude lately.’ you muttered, shaking your head as you waddled over to the couch 

♡ sakusa was quick to wrap his arms around your waist and pull you down next to him, ‘i’m sorry, love.’ his voice cracked slightly as he whispered in your ear, ‘i cannot put into words how much harder my life would be without you. i just..hope you understand.’

♡ it’s not that sakusa was bad with words; he was just too emotional and overwhelmed to produce a long, coherent sentiment for you so he just prayed that you recognized that everything he said on that day was meaningless

♡ ‘i love you, (y/n).’

♡ you rolled your eyes, ignoring him and continuing to type your essay until atsumu slammed your laptop closed

♡ ‘please, (y/n)! you know how much this means to me! i’ve been waiting for this festival for years!’

♡ you scoffed, folding your arms and patiently waiting for him to move his filthy hand off your laptop, ‘i do and i’m proud of you. but i have a lecture that day and my exams are just around the corner - and you know how much my education means to me.’

♡ atsumu had to take a moment to suppress a gag at how sickening and condescending your tone was, ‘it’s just one lecture, (y/n)! you’re not going to fail your exams because you missed one lectu--’

♡ ‘you don’t know that.’

♡ atsumu blinked twice, a unimpressed expression painted on his face as he let out a sigh, realising there was no possible way he’s going to be able to get through to you - i mean, he’s been trying for the last 20 minutes to no avail

♡ he ran his hand through his hairs, turning on his heel, heading towards the door and left

♡ but not before peering over his shoulder to shoot you a nasty glare and spitting, ‘you’re so selfish. you can’t even do one thing that’d make me happy - you never can.’

♡ that was the final thing he said to you for the next....20 minutes 

♡ that’s actually a new record for him - usually he storms out of the room, sulks for a minute or two then renters to beg for your forgiveness 

♡ but not today. he was so mad that he needed 20 whole minutes to cool down and come to his senses

♡ but once he did, when he came back into the room, he expected to see you typing your essay or studying as usual since his words don’t usually effect you too much 

♡ so of course he was shocked when he slipped back into your shared bedroom to see you with the duvet tossed over your whole figure, faint sobs coming from underneath 

♡ his immediate reaction was to pull the blanket away and offer himself as your source of heat, so he wrapped you in his muscular embrace, ‘b-babe.’ he stuttered, eyes-wide as he never would’ve thought you’d take his words seriously, ‘are you okay?’

♡ he knew that was a stupid question but he simply asked it to determine how sad you were - and considering you weren’t able to babble out a reply, that wasn’t a good sign

♡ ‘you’re not selfish.’ he reassured you while rubbing circles on your back, ‘if anything, i was being selfish- and nothing makes me as happy as you do, (y/n). i- i really didn’t mean it.’

♡ he paused only to place a kiss on the top of your head, ‘i love you- and to show you how much i love you..i’ll drop you off at your lecture on that day, and take you to the festival afterwards; does that sound good?’

♡ you were finally able to choke out a response but only to explain how unachievable his idea was, ‘my lecture finishes at 5 and the festival ends at 7, and there is a 45 minute drive between the two- you’re only going to be able to spend a little over an hour there.’

♡ ‘and i’ll have a blast in that time!’

♡ you sighed, your lips twitching into a small smile as you buried your face into his chest as you really couldn’t look him in the eye, ‘and why can’t you just go without me again?’ 

♡ ‘who the fuck am i going to play dance dance revolution against if you don’t come?’

♡ you crossed your arms over your chest, internally regretting ever opening your mouth to try calm down fiancé as now, not only is he even more angry, but also most of his anger with now directed at you rather than manager, like it was previously 

♡ eventually, you started to develop a headache from all his screaming and shouting so you politely asked him to calm down, to which he replied, ‘calm down?! you’re the one who made me mad with your rude-ass comment and now you’re telling me to calm down?!’

♡ you preferred it when he was demanding for you to say ‘butt’ instead of ‘ass’ because now that’s he spent more time with bokuto, he’s started swearing more often and to be honest, it’s scary when a 5″4 ginger sunshine is yelling at you, calling you a ‘rude-ass’

♡ ‘shōyō, if i’m completely honest, i have no idea why what i said was so mean and i have no idea what’s going on- why are you so mad at your manager?’

♡ suddenly, he twisted his neck to look at you as if you had just been possessed, ‘what?’ he inquired in a hushed tone, his voice hoarse and oddly sinister  

♡ you quirked a brow, too tired of his constant bitching to pay attention to his tone of voice, ‘yeah, you speak too fast, shōyō.’ you said with a shrug, checking your nails to ensure that he knew that you truly did not care about how he scowled at you, ‘plus, i just don’t understand why this gets you so worked up - i try, i really do, but i guess your volleyball problems just go over my head.’

♡ hinata clenched his fist, realising that he wasn’t going to make any progress by complaining to you. he whipped his head away before storming off, not even sparing you a final glance, ‘you just don’t get it; you don’t understand anything i say and you don’t even make a fucking effort! you just think you are so much better than everyone - well, you’re not! try coming back down to reality with the rest of us, and then we can talk.’

♡ followed by a slam of the door which rattled through the whole apartment

♡ you really had never seen hinata so angry before in your 6 years of being together 

♡ the words he said were far from pleasant and a part of you wondered in he genuinely meant them, perhaps he had been supressing those thoughts for ages and now that he was finally mad, he could let it all out

♡ though you tried to reassure yourself that everyone says things they don’t mean when they are angry, but the tears started flowing on their own

♡ hinata didn’t plan on seeing you for another few hours as he had the idea of heading over to bokuto’s, have a drink and cool down but when he hopped out the shower, he realised he had left his phone in the bedroom - where he left you. 

♡ begrudgingly, he slid into the room with the intention of grabbing his phone then leaving but that went to shit when he noticed that you were bundled up under the blankets, and he could hear distant sniffles coming from underneath

♡ and hinata only has four moods: mad asf, happy asf, loving you & volleyball...asf

♡ so upon seeing you in such a state, presumably because of what he said, elicited his mood to change from ‘mad asf’ to ‘loving you’ 

♡ he pounced on you, causing you to fall sideways and squeal but he simply did not give a fuck

♡ ‘baby! i am so sorry! i didn’t think what i said would make you cry!’ he blubbered, or at least, that’s what it sounded like since you couldn’t actually see him due to the fact he had trapped you under the blankets, ‘i don’t know why i even said that! you’re not like that at all- i don’t think of you like that!’

♡ he paid little regard for your pleas of mercy as you squirmed frantically under the blanket, trying to escape his grip and body weight. he simply continued babbling on about how sorry he was and how amazing you are, ‘you are down here with the rest of us - i just said for no reason. please don’t be mad! you are - what does bokuto call it again? - oh! a humble--’

♡ ‘shōyō! i’ll forgive you if you get off me right now - i can hardly breathe!’
