I love the anime adaptation of osamu dazai's entrance exam but that's because I love watching dazai commit brood parasitism by killing kunikida's egg (rokuzo) so that kunikida will raise dazai's egg (atsushi).

Dazai: just now waking into the office OH. That's why I was out..

Kunikida: So that's a no? You can't even do the simplest task of picking up supplies.

bolts upright sometimes i remember people have not read the kunikatai lightnovel and that it's apparent in the way that their connection to each other is (not) talked about. i'm so fond of them forever and i think it's a demonstration of how katai has more depth as a character than he's usually perceived as, much like any of asagiri's characters he's playful with but simultaneously renders with love and care. anyway: kunikida & katai's magnificent days

Kenji: It was a lot of fun but wow I didn’t realise city signs were that heavy.

Yosano: Yeah it was fun at first but having an opponent that can heal from any fatal wound. It gets tiring really quick.

Atsushi: I’ll say. But I guess now I know what it was like to actually be hunted by the tiger. Kyouka was pretty amazing though.

Kyouka: Thank you. I still have a ways to go but I think I did well.

Atsushi: You did.

Junichiro: I just know that I never wanna do that again. My neck still hurts.

Kunikida: Agreed. While interesting to test my limits I could do without being shot.

Kenji: We should be proud that we managed to overcome such an obstacle like this. Not many people can say they managed to defeat their own ability.

Katai: You did what?! How did that happen?!

Atsushi: Well when we went into the fog our abilities were separated from us.

Katai: Wait wait wait. The fog?! You mean the red death?! The fog that makes gifted kill themselves, you went into that fog?!

Katai: And you thought walking headfirst into death fog was a great idea to accomplish it?

Katai: That’s even more reason not to go out there. And you didn’t take any safety precautions? No hazmat suits? No masks?

Kunikida: Well no…But…

Katai: All you knew about this thing is that it kills gifted and walked into it, as gifted.

Yosano: He’s got a point.

Kenji: So you didn’t have to fight your ability?

Katai: Nope. I saw red and shut my window. It didn’t touch me at all.

Kunikida: That’s for the best, we could’ve been in a lot more danger had your ability gone rogue.

Atsushi: Every electronic device in the city would be under his command…wow we did get lucky.

Katai: So what you’re saying is that me staying inside is a benefit to humanity?

Kunikida: Katai no!
