Albums of 2023 part 2
And so, on from part 1, we continue. This is more dreamy synth-dub that sits perfectly next to the Harrow album: Richard Norris is another artist with an extraordinarily long and illustrious career but who also has never lost the exploratory urge and total delight in sonic finesse.
Tumblr media
Honestly Uruguayan-in-Ireland Lila Tirando a Violeta is right up there with the very best of the "deconstructed club" generation - dark, gothic, complex, VERY WEIRD - and this collab with Berliner Sin Maldita is up there with her best. It's really, REALLY intense!
Tumblr media
Just impossibly beautiful elegies from ambient harpist Mary Lattimore which builds towards the final track collaboration with Slowdive's Rachel Goswell that is so lovely it will single handedly bring back swooning as a popular pastime.
Tumblr media
Officially an EP but there's enough here to cement Nia Archives's place as a heavyweight - add "Off Wiv Ya Headz" and that Jorja Smith remix, and she's had a humdinger of a 2023....
Tumblr media
Saw some discourse suggesting that Burna Boy is resting on his laurels here, but I don't hear it. Maybe it's the fact that the cover looks dashed-off? But musically, this bangs: it expertly joins so many dots but keeps his voice and personality right at the heart of it.
Tumblr media
I mean come on there was no way a collab between Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist was going to be anything but good, right? Just purest essence of deep and dreamy stoner hip hop. Yet another small (27min) but beautifully formed album - definitely a trend there.
Tumblr media
Feels kind of (literally) sacrilegious to say I prefer Cleo Sol's more personal, less scriptural records (e.g. Rose in the Dark) - and this is, top to bottom, a gospel album - but the conviction to her performance and the whole realisation of it here is still really magical.
Tumblr media
From Coventry via Skopje, man like NOT_MDK's first album in 23 years, and he's zooming into the deep flows that join grime and dubstep into the longer, deeper electronic funk continuum... These tracks are so crisp and crunchy!
Tumblr media
She's from Turkey but Ahu's been plugged into the London Plastic People / NTS / etc scene for years - file this with Yazmin Lacey and similar LDN soul-jazz, also it's very Boho and vibesy and incensey, definitely one to light your best candles for.
Tumblr media
Can't remember who put me on to this, possibly Radio 3? Anyway if cold wet misty Scottish hillsides are your jam Claire M Singer has you covered - these slower-than-slowly unfolding organ-led pieces practically smell of wet moss, and are extremely beautiful.
Tumblr media
He's lent vocals to a who's who of electronic music, but it turns out Paul St Hilaire's own studio craft is the equal of just about any of them - this is just a stunning, ocean-deep album of dub abstraction and subtly potent lyricism.
Tumblr media
Icelander Eva Jóhannsdóttir aka EVA808 has already made a name in the dubstep/grime world but this is her really spreading her creative wings. Mad psychedelia, elemental abstraction, movie-theme composition - there's not much she can't do. Big things beckon!
Tumblr media
There's still SO much to say about amapiano, and so much incredible UK, SA and wider world stuff last year (this isn't even the only great DJ Maphorisa album - he had THREE out in 2023, including a mini album with Shino Kikai and a 25-track one with fellow originator Kabza De Small!!). Suffice to say this has gorgeous songs, primal grooves, endlessly sophisticated mixdowns and bass that'll take your breath away.
Tumblr media
Just gonna link to my review for this one (it's got the music embedded) - but TL;DR Darren J Cunningham aka Actress is the holy prophet of the era of enshittification, yet for all that his music is constantly "off" and made for a world that is "off", he alchemises it into real gold.
Tumblr media
Yeah I'm going to be THAT space-jazz hipster and say this is the record I wish Andre3000 (who is on it, and Carlos Niño co-produced his album) had made. It's just a more lavish, free, FUN way to cavort with the five-dimensional fractal machine elves.
Tumblr media
Zoning in on the platonic breakbeat mathematics that underly Jersey / B'more club Chicago hip house, UK rave, trip hop etc, Bored Lord could seem arch or retro if her beats weren't so gloriously functional and bumping.
Tumblr media
Fed up of generic records? You will never EVER find another one that sounds like IFS MA. Polish abstract slightly Autechre-y footwork / drum'n'bass with Japanese rapper MA sounding like a cyborg beat poet Taliban Trim and I.... 🤯
Tumblr media
Every man jack and their dog are doing high bpm retro rave lately but you can trust Meemo Comma to put a fresh and uneasy twist on it. These tracks will get you proper buzzing up loud! I got to DJ for her live performance of this at Spiritland earlier in the year, hearing them on that system was a real treat.
Tumblr media
You get a twofer with this one. Phil Kieran's ode to Belfast is gorgeous in studio form here, but he also recorded and released a version with the Ulster Orchestra that single handedly revivifies the idea of electronic music done classical style!
Tumblr media
Two true underground troupers teaming up here - Jordan GCZ from Juju & Jordash and David "Move D" Moufang with some otherworldly good-dream ambient, deep house and space-soul jams heavy on the Fender Rhodes, fuzzy reverberation and sensually sweeping portamento.
Tumblr media
My musical safe place for so much of this year. Brooklyn "electronic jam band" Purelink somehow burrowed into electronic music history and found the softest, happiest, warmest fur lined chamber and then invited us in. I cannot emphasise enough how LOVELY this record is.
Tumblr media
More modular synth grooves from E Ruscha aka Secret Circuits, but no over-indulgence here and the grooves REALLY DO GROOVE. Trippy as a weasel circus and twice as funky.
Tumblr media
Talking of trippy, here's Optimo Music's second acid-drenched entry, from the man formerly known as TB Arthur and the mighty Magda trading as Blotter Trax, it's a kind of parallel universe early 80s alt disco where everything gurgles and melts.
Tumblr media
More from South Africa - King Mzaiza Sound via the reliably tough Parisian PSSNGR label - not 100% sure what you'd call this though it definitely has some gqom sonics, some trap drums, and some strident rap vocals... It's HARD AS NAILS is what it is.
Tumblr media
EVEN HARDER - Nyege Nyege brought us a sampler of this (and I don't use mental health language lightly) FUCKING MENTAL shrieking, raging, solvent-huffing sound from São Paulo stewarded by the young DJ K, and it's extremely funky and scarily thrilling.
Tumblr media
OK there we go, part three is here.....

"TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW" - A Review of Tough Act's White Hotel Showcase
Last weekend at White Hotel will be a tough act to follow! Manchester based arts collective “Tough Act” checked guests into the night with all sorts of fun, donk cheesy edits superfast and super hard. Tough Act remained effortless and cheeky whilst summoning ciaos. The collective went b2b at time and others solo for a while, all while warming the crowd aggressively, no holding back. When the floor is warmed up like this it calls the party starters to the front. Although you may question the time and choice of pace ,the ones who don’t need to loosen up are leading the troop. Transmitting that energy across the floor and truly setting the pace for the night to follow.
Almost immediately you are pulled into the fun by the others around celebrating who they are. I notice this is a different type of joy expressed. I haven’t mentioned it yet, but Tough Act are a queer collective and so attract queer crowd. People are celebrating having a space for them to feel safe. Releasing the week gone, finding themselves or simply just wanting to dance!
I can often tell a good crowd by how long I spend in other areas of the club chatting. I kept on getting caught in conversations with warm and beautiful people, of course, in the silly and unconventional clubland way!
LCY stepped up and immediately commanded attention, I observed strong influences of London/UK bass music. Steamrolling through genre boundaries, whilst remaining extremely high quality and refined.
LCY’s ability to maintain dark and industrial all while keeping the crowd enclosed with endless groove. Hard groove techno laced with trickles of amapiano took me on a trip across the globe, whilst my feet were stomping away in Salford. This attitude is synonymous with multi-cultural energy, often exuded by artists from highly diverse ethnocultural centers such as Bristol and London.
Often with DJ’s who have played the circuit for longer than I have been alive, it can go two ways. They seem to only ever get better or in some cases seem somewhat out of touch attempting to read a “younger” audience but completely miss the mark. Misreading their youth for lack of taste in turn, opting for “bait” or more palatable set. DJ Flight was the antithesis of this.          A true pioneer of the jungle/dnb scene, had me hanging on the end of every beat, filled with curiosity for what was to come.
There’s a noticeable difference between new generation jungle DJ’s and the OG’s. The OG’s are able to keep that soul and groove within the sets no matter how much the tempo increases. The music remained dreamy, but the breaks jerked my body into all sorts of movements, just how we like it! Flight closed with some more “soulful” dnb more commonly known as “liquid”, this brought the mood down nicely allowing the audience to reflect for a moment and catch their breath.
Bringing this journey to a close was Stolen Velour, by this point I was locked into a side quest so I shall link Stolen Velour’s music below. Let me know what you think!
Big thanks to Tough Act for a brilliant night. Their next party at the White Hotel is on July 15th , if its anything close to the last one you’re in for a treat. Hopefully see you there!
Lots of love

Le Sserafim: The K-pop Group Rearranging the Industry
Tumblr media
Le Sserafim is a new face in K-pop, and girl groups are not your typical cute bundle of bubbly femininity. They stand at five members strong and aim to change the outlook on the industry by doing more than just nice melodies. Firm resilience, honesty, and the desire to remake expectations, especially regarding female roles in society, stands tall in their venture against the cutthroat K-pop battlefield. Youngest member Hong Eunchae recently grabbed attention when a teaser was released for their third EP, titled Easy. In one particularly memorable scene, she does a spectacular tumble down a metal staircase, stands up, and just keeps walking-unfazed, as if nothing had even happened. "If I'm moving down the path I want to move down, tumbling and falling down doesn't matter," she says. And this is the attitude of Le Sserafim: no matter what hits them, they rise again. 티비텐 TV10, CC BY 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0, via Wikimedia Commons Of course, the sound and even the intensity of Le Sserafim mirror their fearlessness. Their music is a mix of deep house beats, arena rock, and even Amapiano rhythms. Korean, Japanese, and English influences are reflected in music videos like Crazy and Antifragile, for which they received MTV Awards nominations as well as other collaborations, such as with Nile Rodgers and PinkPantheress. They might look like a typical girl group-perfectly all polished and choreographed, totally full of energy. However, what makes them really stand out in line is their willingness to brave the unrealistic expectations often placed upon female idols. In Eve, Psyche, and Bluebeard's Wife, a song born out of the rife examples of women who resist societal pressures, it is from Kim Chaewon's lips that pressure to perform comes: "Smile bigger for the crowd/ Shut up, shut up, now shut your feelings out." Candidness follows in Good Bones, where Huh Yunjin calls out the critics, asking "You think it's okay to degrade someone / Just because they're true to themselves? Yunjin reflects on the duality that Le Sserafim strives to express: strength alongside vulnerability. She explains, "As a group, we're always trying to show that duality of being strong but also being vulnerable. But no matter what happens, we've got each other, and that gives us resilience." The group has had a unique rise to fame. Their origin stories are diverse, but all of them arrived at Source Music, their own label, at different points in their lives. At 26 years of age, Sakura is the eldest and, probably for that reason, the one with the most experience. She has appeared in several bands and groups, most especially KT48, AKB48, and more recently, Iz*One. Yunjin is from New York, and when she was still in school, she studied opera and, while that hasn't led to a fairytale ending in opera, did eventually steer her into K-pop. Eunchae was barely 17 years old with only 15 months worth of training before she debuted. Former ballerina from the Netherlands, Kazuha, as well, was another who joined the group just a mere five months before their very first single was released. It is the diversity and the different strengths that each member brings, making it such a dynamic and eclectic group, namely, Le Sserafim. However, the journey of this group is not free from hits either. As one of the six original members, Kim Garam, was also axed from the group amid allegations of bullying back when she was in high school. More significantly, before this year, the group faced flak for their performance during Coachella wherein some netizens pointed out vocal vulnerabilities. "The recent incident at Coachella just happened when we 'just got excited and lost control'", Chaewon countered. Part of the reason why Le Sserafim are recognizably themselves today is how willing they are to open up about their struggles. The star of the documentary Make It Look Easy, which follows the band through intimate moments, Chaewon breaks down in tears: "I don't really know how to be happy." Sometimes, the pressures of the industry, she admitted, made her feel like giving up. Kazuha also shares her feelings concerning her anxieties, showing how sometimes she is confident of herself and her capabilities but at others despairs of even doing better. Especially for those who spent most of their lives there, Yunjin is especially effusive about wanting to shake up the tight norms of the K-pop industry. "Idols need to do this, do that. There are all these unspoken rules," she explains. Indeed, in her solo song, I ≠ DOLL, she speaks of how idols are treated as products. She sings, "They pick apart my body and throw the rest away. Idol doesn't mean your doll to with.". Amidst the many hardships, Le Sserafim remained extremely close to each other and to the fans. Proof of that can be found in a song like Chasing Lightning, in which they share light-hearted anecdotes, or their latest single, 1-800 Hot N Fun, which documents a wild night out. In the song, members of the band are joking around as they search for the member named Sakura and laugh all the while in saying, "She's waiting downstairs in the lobby." This playfulness shows the chemistry of the group, like good sense of humor the group also portrays in their web series Leniverse. Not being veterans of the scene by any stretch, however, has not been ignored by the presence of Le Sserafim. Fans can't wait for their next drop and already speculate it'll be the final piece of the trilogy of Easy, Crazy, and perhaps Hot. Yunjin is leading with the title being "hot, cold, or warm," but one thing is certain: whatever they throw out will surely be powerful. In a world that often rules through the power of perfection above all else, it is refreshing to be in the presence of Le Sserafim who talk of their flaws and transform them into strengths. Their very name-the anagram of "I'm fearless-is quite aptly the essence of the group. This honesty, resilience, and determination to question the norm should assure that they will be poised to make a difference within K-pop and beyond. Read the full article

Proklaim's 'Permission': A Rhythmic Revolution in Hip-Hop I have paid keen attention to the sounds of Proklaim, and I can beat my chest and say he is one of the hardworking musicians out there, he does this with every song he releases. But this time he has taken a turn from the usuals with his latest track, "Permission". "Permission" is more of a journey that sets the room ablaze with fire beats and rap charisma. This Namibian artist, at the tender age of 19, needs no permission to infiltrate your playlist, and he solidifies this with each quality track he drops. "Permission" is no exception, and Proklaim lives up to his own legacy with this one. Right from the start, Proklaim hits you with Afro beats, giving a nod to his regional roots. But here's the magic – he seamlessly weaves it into the global pop landscape, creating a track that's both familiar and innovative. The lyrics focus on loyalty and respect, making it an anthem that could light up any dance floor, be it a buzzing club or a laid-back house party. The fusion of Afro beats with Amapiano brings a cultural richness that's hard to resist. Influenced by rap legends like Nas and Tupac, Proklaim's lyrical prowess shines through with clarity and precision. What makes "Permission" stand out isn't just its infectious beats but also its fearless genre fusion. Proklaim takes a bold leap, mixing Afro beats with Amapiano to redefine rap. It's a rhythmic masterpiece that invites you to nod your head, feel the vibes, and get lost in the charismatic delivery. But it's not just about the beats. this is a statement, a testament to Proklaim's commitment to pushing boundaries in hip-hop. It's not just a track; it's an experience that showcases Proklaim's dedication to evolving the genre while staying true to its roots. "Permission" is  a rhythmic journey that breaks barriers and redefines what hip-hop can be. So, give yourself the permission to dive into this track, let the beats guide you, and experience the evolution of Proklaim's unique sound. To me, it’s more like a spirit thing, it’s not like a brain thing, it’s not like a thought process. There’s nothing I needed to study to be able to get others to tap in with me. I was just tapping in with myself, and if others follow me? Great. If they don’t? Great. I’d say for me it’s mostly internal, when I hear the voice in my head it’s leading me and I feel like a vessel, to leave a mark in the world. It’s like I’m chosen for it so whether or not I try to run away from it, it’s just what it is. Rema tells Apple Music how He Aims to Create a Legacy I’m supportive to creatives. You see all these great things that have to do with my storytelling, my journey, my branding, my visuals, my photos. I’m not the one taking the photos, I’m not the one shooting the videos, I’m not the one doing all if that they’re just young youths waiting for someone to invest in them, to bring out them crazy ideas, right? That’s what I live for, I live for investing in the youth. It’s beyond musicians, it’s beyond my peers and colleagues. Everyone wants to create, I feel like a lot of creatives have a place in my journey, so I do as best as possible to reinvest in my career, in myself. I’m not just here because I want to drop a banger, make some money and live a flashy life. In 50 years to come, people are going to trace a lot of things back to me - songs back to me, fashion style back to me, visuals back to me, a whole bunch. I want to be able to touch all areas of life, but music is like the first rocket. When it detaches, it goes to wherever it needs to go. Rema tells Apple Music How He Explores Amapiano Authentically I feel like tapping into a sound, most especially when it’s within Africa, I take my time to study. I don’t jump on the wave, I take my time to understand things. When me and Musa Keys were in the studio, I was like ‘I know a lot of Nigerians are doing amapiano but I need you to educate me about amapiano’. I don’t want to just hop on it. Yes I can make a banger, but it’s like can you teach me? When I hear the ones from South Africa it holds more spirit  than the ones from anywhere else. Although I don’t understand everything they’re saying, I can feel the particles, the elements or the spiritual essence of the music. I know there’s a lot of amapiano from different parts of Africa, but educate me about yours, right? I feel like that’s necessary. I’m so down to collaborate, and while I collaborate I want to learn, I don’t want to do it the wrong way. Yes, amapiano is a sound I really want to tap into, but give me time with that!  Read the full article

Scott Evans successfully completes Kumasi media tour & flash mob at mall following release of Gospel Amapiano hit; 100 Percent
Tumblr media
Gospel Amapiano head honcho, Scott Evans has successfully completed the first phase of his 100 Percent Regional media tour in Kumasi. As earlier published, the tour fulfilled all listed itinerary with exceptional impact from the radio tours to the flash mobs that electrified the entire Garden City. Ranging from Asaase Radio, Pure FM, Ultimate FM, Orange FM, among several others, Scott wowed listeners with his seasoned oratory deliveries and biblical ideologies that resonated well with both hosts and listeners alike. He made various headline statements in relation to securing his turf as the world’s leading name in Gospel Amapiano, halting collaborations for now in order to solidify his sound, the need for youths to live their best lives on the best side which is God’s side, among others. He cautioned churches and parents in general to accept and welcome urban Gospel into their lives and homes in order to occupy the minds of their children with Christian values and principles delivered with an interesting and youthful vibe. If not, he was so sure that the church would soon lose their young ones to the worldly standards being preached through secular music today. The bandwagon of Scott Evans and his team of dancers also made a quick stop at the Kumasi Mall to give patrons a surprise pop up flash mob of the 100 Percent dance challenge which shocked most onlookers in an entertaining and edifying way. It’s no secret that Oseikrom felt the Scott Evans fever all week long till date and wouldn’t be recovering from it’s massive impact anytime soon. About 100 Percent single: “100 Percent” is available on digital streaming platforms and was produced by Konvict Music signee & Global producer Nektunez. The track is beautifully crafted for Global listening with an Amapiano flow. 100 Percent – meaning Full of God’s Glory for your Life – draws music lovers to know that God has given us the ability to enjoy all possessions fully. 100 Percent alternates between English, Ga & Yoruba. God wants humans to be happy and find joy in life’s pleasure, while also doing good & helping others be just as content Ecclesiastes 3:12-13. 100 Percent is to inspire listeners to expect the very best of blessings from an Excellent God when they pray. About Scott Evans: Scott Evans who is always bringing the love back to Gospel Music has earned recognition as one of Ghana’s finest Urban Gospel Artists. He defines his sound as “AfroGospel”; a sub-genre of Urban Gospel Music which combines Afrobeats & the word of God to preach the Gospel to the world. He recently became the first Ghanaian Urban Gospel Artist to hit 1 million views with his “Mapek3” music video on YouTube and has gradually become a ménage in the Ghana Music scene with his back-to-back trendy Amapiano gospel songs over the last two years with no stop. Stream and Download “100 Percent” on all music platforms here. Following the success of his critically acclaimed debut album Truth, Love & Confessions, fast-rising Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Idahams is excited to go again in 2023 with the brand-new single ‘Wetin No Good’ via Grafton Records.
Written by Idahams and produced with longtime collaborator Yussy Beatz (Adekunle Gold, Yemi Alade), "Wetin No Good" is an infectious pop offering that fuses Afrobeats and Amapiano together to glorious effects. Backed sonically by magical drum patterns and a thumping bassline, the single sees Idahams in peerless form, as he brings his captivating vocal delivery, lush melodic arrangements, and excellent griotic songwriting about love, sex, and relationships to the fore.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Wetin No Good’, Idahams says, “This is one of the first songs I recorded this year, and I believe this song can be a global hit for Africa because of the glorious afrobeats and amapiano fusion that gives it an appeal that cuts across – I hope listeners can feel the song from the first vocal and get excited about ‘Wetin No Good’. Thematically, the song captures two different feelings and interpretations – on one hand, you are being served hot breakfast of sad love and heartbreak, but on the other hand, you could be having the best sex of your life”.
Hailing from Bonny Island in Nigeria’s River State, Idahams is emerging as one of the most exciting new faces of Afropop music on the global stage, with two acclaimed projects in the last two years, over 50 million streams, and four top 10 singles on Music Week’s UK Black Music Chart, among other achievements. Influenced by the rich culture and indigenous sounds of his hometown, his Afropop music is driven by percussions-laded rhythms, and highlife music sensibilities. Not resting on his laurels from last year’s successes, Idahams is one to watch in 2023.

Fl Studio Trap Pack Free
Free Fl Studio For Mac
Trap music is by far one of the most popular genres to date. Many other genres of music branch off from the elements in Trap music. From the kicks to the snare and the hi-hats, all these elements “instrumental” in a hard-hitting track. By far the hi-hats are the most distinctive of all the drum kit sounds.
The lifts create and relieve tension, while the drums are perfect for the end of the phrase, without forgetting the vocal samples that give your rhythm an individuality. “Trap Samples” is an important addition to any sample library of hip-hop or trap producers who are serious about taking their beats to the next level. Merafong Amapiano wave: EPs to look out for

It goes without saying that one of the most sought out after music genres in the republic right now is Amapiano, a new age Kwaito reincarnation of piano and keys, resting its genius on log drums, dramatic mid song pauses, only to return with mad Kicks and baselines, Amapiano is sure to have you mopping the dance floor with sweat.
Owing its emergence from capital city of Pretoria, the genre has gained prominence throughout South Africa and the world. The lockdown has seen the release of Kabza de Small's chart topping"King of Amapiano" album and joint projects with DJ Maphorisa in Scorpion 1 and 2. At the top of the South African Amapiano throne Kabza and DJ Maphorisa share the throne with the likes of JazziDisciples, Vigro Deep, Gaba Cannal, Tumza D'kota and Seme Tee to name but a few.
But I digress, and narrow the scope to the Merafong City throne, and put the microscope on local talent that should, by no means not go unnoticed.
1. Distance TRK - Amaphupho
Tumblr media
Multi-talented producer, singer and songwriter real name Sphamandla Collen Shabalala is a force to reckon with, he refuses to be boxed in any particular genre, he is a all round music artist.
His amapiano track Amaphupho is an absolute fire tune, featuring Brutus pablo on vocals, mixed and Mastered by Kamster SA, it is sure to inspire you and have your ankle tapping, all the while representing Wedela brilliantly. Sitting comfortably on spot number 3 on DJ Sbu's top 10 on radio station Massiv Metro, the song is one of the best to come out of the ville.
His first EP titled "Khuzwayo" was released in 2017 and sold 100 copies in Carletonville. He was nominated under the "New House Artist" category at the Mzansi Kwaito and house Awards (MKHMA) 2019 with the song "Lethukukhanya". Distance is a true genius, not to mention talented.
2. Queller dupour- Bass & 3D logs
Young producer prodigy & vocalist Queller du pour is becoming a household name among Amapiano lovers in Merafong City, his talent is unmatched and he is a true hard worker. His signature one string pull footprint can be traced in other people's work including Amapiano Chronicles and Broken Elements, both whom, feature in this article.
Queller's EP offering "Bass and 3D Logs" is brewing with world class production as far as amapiano is concerned. From the Amapiano remix of "Tigi" a song by Swati Afropop singer Sands, to "Yena" and "Jaiva Yoyo" both the latter tracks feature Amapiano Chronicles, Queller is brilliant and the work ethic shows. If you are a lover of amapiano this 7 track EP is sure to satisfy your crave. What stands out about the 3D log boss is his willingness to work and collaborate with other artists, which shows that teamwork makes the dream work. Queller was currently part of the amapiano Corona tour alongside artists; Jazzidisciples,Mfr Souls, Dj Jaivane, Kabza De Small,KwiishSA, Dinho, Kabza De Small, Dj Stokie,Pencil, Mbali Sebeko and Dimpie Dimpopo. The boy is hot property.

3. Broken Elements- Induku EP
House duo Broken Elements bring a unique distinctive sound to the music scene of Merafong City. Their touch of percussions is literally music to the ears, and is sure to have any Yanos heads doing the pouncing cat.
The EP features cream of the crop vocalists from Merafong, boosting artists such as Mozaique and Kgadi Salane. The EP is ripe with production influences from the likes of BafoDeDeejay and the 3D log boss himself Queller,it couldn't go wrong. From the track Beautiful Butterflies and Mdantso the EP is a banger.
4. Tribal Souls - Goddess EP
Amongst their catalogue, the duo dropped singles "Unleash the King" and "Sounds of the deep", both attesting to their work ethic. Their latest EP "Goddess" drops on the 8th of August.
Whoever says Deep house and tekno influences cannot be fused with amapiano has not looked the direction of ext 3 Khutsong. Tribal souls was formed in 2017 and has been growing since, they categorise their sound as "a combination of deep house and amapiano"
5. Amapiano Chronicles- KhutsongVille EP
Probably the most decorated duo on the list, appearing to have the most following and most relevant in the streets, they boost tracks such as "Kwa Maselwane", the buzzing "Iziyobisi" track and "Mosquito bite" just to name a few. Siyabonga Nkululeko Ndzuzo stage name - Siiyadadeep and Kamogelo Lebethe stage name - Jnr Chronicle are causing serious waves. This is the most anticipated EP as far as amapiano goes in the Ville.
It would be utter disrespect however, not to mention Reason de Friend who has collaborated with the duo on some tracks, and has projects of his own as well, him and Queller has had a influence on this particular sound. All the Yano heads are waiting in nostalgic anticipation for the KhutsongVille EP.
6. Kamster SA - NewBeginnings Ep
Hailing from Carletonville, Wedela House producer Kamster SA real name Kamohelo Monesi, holds no punches back with his upbeat Percussions production. Kamster has been fiddling with afro-house production from as early as 2010, now at the tender age of 21 his sound is ripe with cords to make the soul chant. Already having dropped his single "Umcimbi" his EP is set to drop on the 24th of July, Friday. Definitely cannot wait for the project.
Umcimbi is a hit, best believe.
