Hazlo! Hazlo ya! Esta mujer tiene una forma de escribir afectiva y adictiva, aunque haya partes de sus libros aburridas, te deja intrigado 🙋🏻‍♀️ Este libro es así! Al principio me pareció algo infantil, no lo voy a negar, pero mientras más avanzaba más me daba cuenta la profundidad de aquellos cuentos que conocemos desde niños y cómo los vemos ahora, ya más grandes. Amé las referencias a antiguos cuentos de fantasía y hadas, era como regresar en el tiempo, y la historia, pese a que es un libro bastante largo, es sencilla de leer. Book Review #1: In Order to Live

I had the wonderful opportunity to read "In Order to Survive" by Yeonmi Park. This book was so riveting, emotional, inspiring, and overall, an experience that I wish I could read all over the again. I don't want to give too much away because I genuinely believe that everyone should experience reading this book because it really shows the true meaning of survival and what it takes to survive. I found myself being more mindful and grateful of all small things that I used to neglect. For example, the water heater at the place I am staying had turned off, meaning cold showers. At first, I was bummed because taking cold showers during the coldest time of the year was not my ideal situation, but I found myself thinking back Yeonmi's story and how she went DAYS without even a single quick scrub and that instantly changed my mood around. I was still bummed of course, but I was grateful that at least I was able to shower despite the water being cold. It was that small instant where I could've made a big deal out of a small situation or turn over a new leaf and remind myself that there are so many people who don't have the luxury to simply take a shower whether it's cold or not. This book is beyond inspiring, and I recommend anyone and everyone to read this beautiful book.

This is a beautifully written tale set in early to mid-twentieth-century Bombay, full of fascinating details about the textile industry, the rise of "bioscopes" - silent movies - and talkies, and the journey of one family living through it all. The main character is Tatya, and the First World War's impact on India's cloth sector is explored in the narrative. Tatya's astute business acumen is soon noticed by his kind teacher Zaveri, who suggests he go alone as a sales representative. Overall, the book is a historical fiction spanning pre-independence and just-independent India, depicting business scenes, royal households, the silent movie-to-voice transition in theaters, the lives of women at various social levels, and other aspects! Resenha | Dom Casmurro, de Machado de Assis. Nota: 10/10. Que livro fascinante! Infelizmente eu só fui lê-lo por agora, em meus 37 anos. A história é narrada em primeira pessoa pelo próprio Dom Casmurro. Ele narra cada parente de sua família que considera importante com muita destreza e carinho, explica como surgiu o seu apelido e claro, o amor pela Capitu! A famosa Capitu! Mas há uma promessa que foi destinado a ele por sua mãe: ser padre. Obviamente, ele não quer isso. Dom Casmurro é poético, ligeiro e malandro. Figura massa. Ama comparar as pessoas com o que é de bom agrado e, compara também aqueles dos quais se meteu em apuros de uma forma bem humorada. Ele é um retrato do brasileiro nordestino sem vidas secas, com cores vivas. Se ele nascesse no Rio de Janeiro, representaria “Cariocas” de Adriana Calcanhoto em um ritmo xote. Jeitão de José Wilker como Giovanni Improtta, em Senhora do Destino, só que na norma culta. Falando em norma culta, Machado de Assis é ímpar na forma de expressar as emoções do personagem. Sempre referindo-as à mitologia, à religião ou à história. “Vim a saber que a lança de Aquiles também curou uma ferida que fez”, por exemplo. Quanto ao livro, pela FTD, é prático e sensacional o fato de haver breve explicações no rodapé das páginas. Sejam as referências comparadas ou o regionalismo de Dom Casmurro. Já leu!? Zapytanie o recenzję książki Kasi dostałam jakiś czas temu, ale miałam okazję na spokojnie do nich przysiąść dopiero w okresie świątecznym. Dlaczego piszę do książek a nie do książki? Ponieważ pierwszą część otrzymałam w PDF a drugą w papierze, tak, by być zaznajomioną od początku w tym, co dzieje się w świecie wykreowanym przez autorkę.

Okładki przywodziły mi na myśl książki typowe dla młodszego odbiorcy, ale uznałam ‚hej, czemu nie? Lubię młodzieżówki!’ I wiecie co? Pomyliłam się. Te książki, to nie jest dzieło skierowane (tylko) do młodszego odbiorcy. Powiedziałabym nawet więcej! One są dla starszych. Dlaczego? Znajdziecie tutaj zwroty, które (no nie wiem, może ja jestem staroświecka) ale niekoniecznie powinny być w słowniku dzieci. Historię utkaną przemyślnie i zabawnie, która idealnie rozbawi dojrzałego czytelnika, który szuka magii i znajdzie ją, zdecydowanie właśnie tutaj.

Mam swoich ulubieńców, nie będę kłamać :p mam też momenty, gdzie czekałam, aż przejdziemy do konkretach rzeczy (nie mogłam się ich doczekać!). Podoba mi się, że nie zrobiło się z tego romansidło, ani autorka nie wpadła w żadną pułapkę zastawioną przez życie i wybrnęła ze wszystkiego. Momentami było strasznie ale większość czasu miałam uśmiech na ustach.

To nie jest kraj dla słabych magów to drugi tom i muszę przyznać, że jest mroczniejszy i dojrzalszy. Widoczne jest dla mnie to, jak ładnie autorka się rozwija pisarsko i ile jeszcze ma pomysłów.

Książki te, są niczym powiew świeżości w świecie fantasy, których mi ostatnio brakowało.

Czy polecam? Zdecydowanie.

Czy czekam na 3 tom? Katarzyno, nie pozwól bym tak długo cierpiała!

E apenas constato que me apaixonei mais ainda por essa história. ⠀ ⠀ 🥀Margaret Mitchell conseguiu em um único livro abordar sobre a Guerra Civil Americana (e trata sobre a visão dos sulistas, algo que não costuma aparecer muito nas histórias); sobre a escravatura; sobre uma sociedade que na época era extremamente machista e o papel da mulher nela; e ainda tecer um romance no meio de tudo isso. ⠀ ⠀ 🥀Scarlett O’Hara é uma das minhas personagens femininas favoritas e, mesmo ficando com raiva dela por conta de seu fascínio por Ashley Wilkes, eu admiro o crescimento dessa personagem, sua força e coragem. ⠀ ⠀ 🥀Infelizmente eu emprestei esse livro na Biblioteca Pública e lá não tem o segundo volume, então terei que começar uma saga em procura desse livro nos sebos ou quem sabe livrarias, pois é um livro que eu gostei muito mesmo e quero fazer as minhas marcações de quotes. ⠀ 🥀Quem aqui já teve a oportunidade de ler o livro ou até mesmo ver o filme? He was a close friend of Mahatma Gandhi and served as president of the Indian National Congress several times. Despite being detained on multiple occasions for his actions, he persisted in his efforts to advance Indian independence.
