WELL, SOMETIMES THE MOMMIES DOES NOT GIVE BIRTH TO THEIR OWN BABIES

That is true. In this example too. An egg from SC Keep the Faith and a straw from BOE Solomeus was put into Fashion Forward, as she will be retireing soon, and it wasn't possible for SC Keep the Faith to come to us to have a foal.

This little black (Ee aa) filly therefore has the sire BOE Solomeus (recently sold to Alexandrina Bishop) and dam SC Keep the Faith, though BOE Fashion Forward aka. Runway has given birth to her and will be nursing her and raising her.

BOE Kaida, as she was named, was born a few days ago, but only fit enough to be shown off now. She was born breathing though soon stopped, and it took a lot from both me and Feline to rub her back to life. Luckily she suddenly took in a very deep breath like she was drowning, and then she was breathing well again, though slightly agitated.

Feline then called our boarder Ysabel Calzada, who is a vet too, and asked her to come at check the filly. Seemed like mucus was clogging up her nostrils, and when that was removed she seemed to breathe better.

Still we decided to bring the small filly - yes, she was born very small - to the big animal hospital nearby and get her checked over with x-rays and all that jazz. Our worries were kind of for nothing, as they couldn't see anything worrying on the x-rays and blood tests, so the vet there just told us that it must have been the mucus in her nose that made her stop breathing shortly after birth.

Now she is all good though!

We were pretty lucky though, bc when we came back from the animal hospital then Brillianta went into labor for her first baby with us, as she will soon be leaving for her new home, when her baby has been weened off.

Baby was a big, strong colt in a solid bay colour (EE Aa) with a TINY star on his head as his only marking. We had hoped for something more exciting, as his dad has a rather exciting color, but what can we say? Bay is exciting too right? After all I do love a good bay.

His name is BOE Chancellor. His sire is BOE Cisco (who has just been sold to Eve Sandoval) and dam is BOE Brillanta (promised and sold to Eva Marshall). He is a spunky little guy, though very laid back. Took us awhile to actually get him to trot beside his mother for the picture xD

LOADS OF NEW HORSES

Getting into a new breed also means that you would aquire more horses, so I have done that! A few new Oldenburgs to really begin the Oldenburg experience. I really am enjoying these new horses, and I am looking forward to them getting enough points to give good bonuses to future offsprings!

First one up is a special one. He is bay, but he has a somatic mutation so he has some big black spots primarily on the front of his body. Most noticable on his shoulders and neck, but he also have a huge black spot on his forehead.

His name is BOE Toulouse, and he is Hera's new main horse. A handsome young boy who loves running fast! Hopefully he will succeed as a show jumper, as he is completely new to the discipline and riding in general.

The last two are both greys. The mare with the blue halter is a fleabitten grey mare (bay based) named BOE Brillianta. She greyed quickly and is only 4 yo, not even broken in yet! She is gentle, yet slightly skittish around sudden sounds and movements. Definitely needs more training before she can enter shows in the future.

The grey stallion with the red halter is Nordic's Captain Nemo. So now I got two horses named "Captain", lol! I got him from Nina Wolf, and fell in love with him right away! He is such a kind boy who at 8 years old haven't been at many shows yet. But that will change with this week at Saturday, when he will enter his first Show Jumping and Dressage Show and also a conformation show!

And now with these new horses it brings my totalt of greys up to 11 greys in my herd!

FOALS GROWING UP (KINDA)

Calypso's POV

Babies BOE Chancellor and BOE Kaida has just reached 1 year old today! Those beautiful babies has just gotten sooo big, and I hope Ma will let me ride one of them, when they get old enough. Chancellor (the bay) is a colt/young stallion after BOE Cisco x BOE Brillianta with BOE Commodor in his pedigree.

Kaida (the solid black) is a young mare/filly after our old BOE Solomeus and a mare named SC Keep the Faith from @CassieJames. The have grown up so nicely!

Chance is a speedster, and often tries to outrun the mares in the pasture. Soon he will go to the stallion or gelding pastures, when his balls has dropped, as we don't want any surprise babies xD

Kaida is more slow, here she had just woken up from a nap forgetting how her front legs works. She is such a silly girl really.

After Chance's run he decided to lie down, and soon after Kaida joined him. It will be hard for them to be separate, but we have to. At least until we have decided if we want Chance spayed or not. They have been each others' support and best friend after they were weaned from their dams.

THE LADIES

The three first mares from the left has grown up, and into beautiful, mature mares. Or almost mature. They are 3 yo as of today. From left to right we have BOE Moonlit Debate, BOE Alternative Lilypad, BOE Chapline, BOE Alreda and soon to be retired mare BOE Fashion Forward! Her son BOE Lady's Protector will be taking over for her next month.

These are of course not all the mares at our stable, we are missing about six of them in this picture not limited to BOE Brillianta, BOE Floretta, RRS Dantonia and Ciao Bella BL, Sparrow's Dandelion and Kalliope T.
