SneakerCenter is a new 7 part miniseries on ESPN+, ESPN’s streaming service, that explores sneaker culture across sports and entertainment as told by the athletes, artists, enthusiasts, and brands who power the movement. ESPN’s production partner Hock Films and the legendary filmmaker and director Bobbito Garcia wanted an iconic show brand and energetic graphics package that resonated with the sneakerhead community. BLOCK & TACKLE crafted a visual identity and language with a custom logo, show open, and graphics toolkit to use for the series and across various marketing platforms.

Amplify Color Podcast On The Jewish / Puerto Rican Duo On WCKR Radio

Warner Music Group's in-house podcast network, Interval Presents, has debuted the latest episode of its newest series, "Amplify Color" hosted by Ryan Cameron, a 2x Emmy winner, the host of “Voice of Atlanta,” a member of the Georgia and Black Radio Hall of Fame, and long-time Atlanta DJ.

 In this episode, host Ryan Cameron tells the story of Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia - two of the most surprising contributors to Black radio. This Jewish and Puerto Rican duo turned Columbia University’s college radio station WCKR into hip-hop’s first radio-safe haven. Every Thursday from 1am -to 5am, The Stretch and Bobbito Show was a place where up-and-coming rappers like Nas, Eminem, Wu-Tang Clan, and Big L played their latest records or showed off their lyrical freestyles. In the process, a format was born that hip-hop shows imitated for years to come. These pioneers of hip-hop had one nemesis…the birth of Hot97, hip-hop’s very first radio station dedicated to only rap. Not only did Stretch and Bobbito survive, but they thrived and left an undeniable legacy on Black radio.

The series, hosted by Ryan Cameron, highlights modern trailblazers such as Charlamagne tha God, Wendy Williams, Big Boy, and Sway Calloway but also pays tribute to past icons like Jack L. Cooper and Petey Greene. Produced by Double Elvis, the series chronicles the history of Black radio through the story of those who made a long-lasting impact on the medium we know and love today.

The next upcoming episodes will discuss the life of Robin Quivers, the unlikely co-host of The Howard Stern Show and Big Boy, the King of the Los Angeles airwaves.

NewYork TRIP #2

今回、ニューヨークtripの個人的なイベントとして、スニーカー、D J 、バスケットボーラー、敬愛するBobito Garciaが主催する

Full Court 21 World Final in New York

に行ってきました。

日本から来た選手はyukke

実はyukkeは予定の飛行機が遅れ、本来は前日の夜中に現地NYに着くのが試合当日の午前中に着いていた。

試合当日、Queensのラガーディアに迎えに行き、無事にyukkeとWHAT'S UPしてマンハッタンのホテルへ直行した。

会った時はそこまで疲れた様子では無かったが、相当タフな状況からスタートしたんじゃないかと思う。

ホテルでのチェックインと準備を済ませ、早速west 99stのGOAT Parkへ向かい、近辺のアジアンレストランで���事をとることに。

俺が頼んだエビ焼きそばの海老がコンディション悪くてまじで吐きそうになったのを反面に、YUkkeは美味しくビーフを食べてました。

会場を着いて、知り合いにもwhat's upし、試合開始までチルタイム。

LAのチャンピオンで来てたJordanが俺らに一番気さくに声をかけてくれていたかも。

日本予選で全部入っていたらしいフリースローが全部外れていて、何本かシュートをmakeしていたけど点数が稼げず予選&敗者復活も含めて敗退。

全体の感情としては、yukkeも自分も過去にS.H.Uの一員として活動（年代は違う）していた時期があってまさか初めて会えたのがニューヨークだったのがs.h.u streetの引き寄せの縁を感じた。

day offは時間があるかぎり色々な場所に連れて行ったが、バスケ以外に興味がないと言い切る人間で、相変わらずs.h.uを噛んでるやつは面白い。

なんか宮城でやるみたいだから常に楽しみな人間です。
