I got an impromptu skate edit and interview at the park today. He ended up recording me after about an hour or so of skating, and I also didn't know how much he was recording so I kind of just hang about for a bit figuring what the fuck I'm going to do.

I AM TRYING REALLY HARD TO NOT FEEL SELF CONSCIOUS ABOUT HOW I AM SKATING AND HOW I LOOK.

So the story is that his grandson was there (I believe) and he likes to send videos of people skating back to his family and friends in China. The other video he sent me is all in Chinese with like calm music playing over it.

we all know the boys grew up in san diego and they simply, are the typical socal type.

every moment the boys weren’t in the woods or involved with Elias, they were at the beach.

they rode their bmxs everywhere. LIKE EVERYWHERE.

they would have little competitions to who can hit the best jump/trick and the loser bad to buy the winner an arizona from the local liquor store

they would drink SoBes: hesh’s fav was the piña colada and logan’s was the strawberry banana

in n out was and is always their comfort food

their family “trips” would be to in n out in the truck and they would all eat in the bed (extra points if its during sunset)

hesh got really into sublime and elias feared he was gonna start smoking weed

logan took the linkin park route n elias feared the kid was going true an existential crisis (he was like 13)

keegan calls logan “cali” when he wants to be a smartass n when hes not calling him “kid”

they were padres fans growing up but elias had a soft sport for the giants (norcal n socal UNITE)

they were never the surfing type but they were the “rush the waves n try to drown each other” type (sibling shit as per usual)

the boys never grew up normally bc they were military brats. so they spent a lot of time on the bases in sd for ghosts business but elias told them it was to finalize his retirement papers

growing up in san diego made the boys want to be navy but elias never really gave them the choice of choosing another branch. so when odin hit, there REALLY was no choice

every time the boys had to go back to no mans land it pained them bc that was HOME

they dont like fish. for how many fish taco places are in sd. they HATE fish

even tho their dad had always owned fords the boys realllyyyyy wanted a tacoma or a 4runner (yota for life dawg)

they werent surf kids. never had a knack for it. BUT they were skim board kids. and they liked bikes

hesh loves to bring up childhood memories.

but elias did the most. he would always tell the other ghosts about “his boys” and the shit they got into.

when the other started to get more comfortable with the walkers, they would recite the stories elias once told ‘em

mrs walker would always SMOTHER them in sunscreen before they went out, especially when going to the beach

cargo shorts and flip flops EVERYWHERE. but when they got older than it was cargo pants n boots

Hey guys sorry for so many pictures, but i must give you all the full effect! Any wayyy lets get into it!! High School Daze features 18 different group poses. I had the idea for some at school poses as well as those fun nights we all had as teens, whether it was drinking, joy riding or enjoying some mary janee.

I started this pack originally when High School Years was released with the hopes of releasing it back then, but this pack has been a looong work in progress{along with other packs}. I also tossed the idea back and forth for awhile now releasing a baby themed pack but with infants release so close id rather wait so i can bring you my special poses but better! So ive finally put this all together for you guys and truly hope you enjoy what ive created.

These poses can be used in any type of setting, {it doesnt have to be high school} Teen thru Adult it dont matter.

Here are some quick descriptions, the accessories required and then download your little heart out!!!

Poses 1,2&3 Are group poses at the lockers*

Poses 4&5 are group poses of 3 friends, 2 walking, 1 on bmx fliriting

Pose 6 Is regular 3 friends non flirting version

Pose 7&8 Is of 2 friends sitting on the stairs smoking mary jane

Pose 9 is similar to 7&8 except another friend joins.

Pose 10&11 Is a 6 person group pose, 2 sims drinking whiskey from a glass, 1 sim smoking mary jane and 1 sim drinking JD from the bottle. My Bandcamp shuffle has been playing a lot of Black Editions' reissue of Nagisa Ni Te's "Newocean". I love the sound of Japanese pop that sounds heavily influenced by either or both The Pastels and BMX Bandits.

Bruit Direct Disques (Paris, France) is releasing a new LP from Tokyo based artist Kenji Kariu. The only songs available are "Water" and "And Then There Was Light...". Both songs carry on the excellent Japanese indie pop tradition. In fact, the Bandcamp write up mentions Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Stereolab or The High Llamas.

Dear Unknown Child Filmmaker,

You don’t know me and I don’t know you, but you bared a piece of your soul to me and a group of miscellaneous office workers once. Our company held something like a talent competition; you could submit anything at all captured on video to win a cash prize. We had opera singers, trick shots, BMX stunts and belly dancers. You had two entries; we watched them both, gathered there in the boardroom with one young marketing manager ready to tally votes on her spreadsheet.

“I can make good films,” you said. I don’t remember anything else about your introduction but I can play that sentence perfectly in my head. You meant it, and you were right. I can’t describe the joy I felt, seeing a kid’s one-man production within the confines of a suburban home. The creativity you were forced into by your limitations, the delight of your young perspective. Stuff like panicking about a home invasion but grabbing some chips out of the cupboard first. Your shots were actually really good, you know? You had a great sense of timing, the editing was impressive and you cobbled together tense and foreboding atmospheres out of toys and household objects.

And you know what? You were gonna win. We all voted - there may have been some filibustering on my part - but we had the recommendation written up and ready to send off to the big boss. And that bastard knocked it back because you used a steak knife in one shot, where a teddy bear was coming to kill you. Ketchup for blood. “We can’t have kids playing with knives!” What a crock of shit.

The prize went to some grown man who definitely didn’t need it, who could already afford some flashy sports gadget that he probably rented out for a fortune over the years. Sure, it looked cool, but it wasn’t meaningful. That prize wasn’t life-changing to him, it was just another drop in the bucket. I still get sore every time I think about it: that money could have bought you a professional-grade camera. It could have paid your TAFE fees all the way through to an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media. It eats me up inside.

Did you give up on films when you got older? I can’t find your entries anywhere, I tried every search term I could think of. I don’t know if you took them down out of simple self-editing, but I really hope you didn’t stop because you thought no one cared. You must be coming up to your twenties soon - are you doing a film diploma? Maybe you got into TikTok or something; I wouldn’t know how to check. At the very least, I hope you still make films for fun. They’re good films, and you should be proud of them.
