Tectocoris diophthalmus , comúnmente conocida como chinche arlequín del hibisco o chinche arlequín del algodón, es el único miembro del género Tectocoris y la subfamilia Tectocorinae . Es un insecto con forma de escudo convexo y redondeado de colores brillantes con un brillo metálico que crece hasta unos 20 mm. Las hembras adultas son en su mayoría anaranjadas y los machos son azules y rojos o naranjas, mientras que las ninfas son típicamente de color verde metálico y púrpura. Los colores son bastante variables, y los experimentos sugieren que la variación en el color puede reducir la depredación de las aves, especialmente en las etapas inmaduras.

Es común en el este de Australia, Nueva Guinea y varias islas del Pacífico en hábitats que van desde zonas urbanas hasta agrícolas y costeras.

I said a while ago lhc was like a reverse Frankenstein retelling if you still have the post around we discussed it now that you've read both what do you think of my assessment

Here's the thing, what I realized is that Litchis personality is like the creatures but in reverse. Litchi is born as a killing machine and learns kindness thanks to a human so he stops. Frankenstein creature is a kind being but because of humanity he starts killing and his quest of revenge.

While at first glance u think of Frankenstein (some of his panels do look like the classic movie scenes) they are wildly different. The most important thing with Frankenstein is that he abandoned the creature, that's why the whole plot in the book starts. That's not the case with Litchi.

Litchi is a machine unlike the creature but with an added program learning to be human. His creators never abandoned him and he was born with a clear purpose (that he defied later on). Litchi was not kind until Kanon taught him, he didn't understand why hurting humans is bad and simply followed orders given to him.

I think some scenes are loosely inspired by Frankenstein movies but not a proper retelling. Many key elements are missing in order to be a retelling. The main one being that the creature unlike Litchi is actually alive (tho I'm not denying that Litchi isn't conscious one way or another)
