first of all, the game itself... when i say i was on my knees, like the stresssss (although this was not as stressful as the broncos one -THAT one took years off my life) but! we finally had some luck swing our way and we won in the best possible way with that freaking insane touchdown (which is one of the best examples of joemarr's connection all by itself imo) (and i'm not forgetting that hug too!)

spencer and i held eye contact across the kitchen at rossi’s house one evening. 

he was involved in a conversation with morgan and alex, while i was under the arm of my boyfriend, james, as he talked to hotch about something. 

i wasn’t listening, just focusing on not blinking. spencer smiled slightly, struggling to keep himself from blinking. 

he pulled a face, making me smile and laugh quietly. 

“that’s cheating.” i mouthed. 

“no it’s not.” spencer mouthed back, smiling softly. 

i stuck my tongue out at him and crossed my eyes so that my vision became obscured. looking back with focused eyes made me realize he was blinking. 

“i win!” i cheer audibly, staying quiet enough to not interrupt the flow of words coming from james’ mouth. he did shoot me a confused look.

spencer rolled his eyes and sipped from the glass of red wine he had in his hand. he was sucked back into the conversation he was initially involved in, head turning towards alex as she started talking. 

i sighed and looked up at james, forcing a smile onto my lips as he kept on talking to hotch without giving me a glance. 

i shifted my gaze to hotch, finding him staring at me. his eyes had that worried look in them i saw sometimes and i smiled to assure i was okay. he looked away and i released a sigh i didn’t know i was holding in. 

“you ready to get going?” james’ voice got me looking back up at him. i took a few seconds to process his question before nodding. 

“i’m gonna go say bye and i’ll meet you at the front door, okay?” i took my arm out from where it was around his while he nodded. i turned on my heel and headed over to where jj, penelope, and rossi were standing. i said goodbye to them, which they were sad to hear, before going to see alex, morgan and spencer. 

“i wish you didn’t have to go.” spencer whispered while he gave me a hug. 

“i know, me too.” i whispered back, giving him a quick gentle squeeze before releasing him. 

“i’ll see you tomorrow, spence.” i waved to him and then everyone else before finding james by the front door.

when james and i got to our apartment i immediately went to our room to get changed. 

“did you have fun?” i asked from the closet.

james stood in the doorway to our room, nodding. “yeah. that guys house was cool.” 

“rossi is very rich, and he will flaunt it.” i laughed. james hummed with a sound that told me he was unamused. “what’s wrong?”

“nothing it’s just… spencer was staring a lot.” he told me. “it’s like he’s got to hots for you or something.” 

i eyed him in my periphery. “he doesn’t.” i assured. my hands moved over the compartments in the closet while i tired to find what i wanted to wear after my shower.

“mhm, yeah okay. because friends gawk like that.” james sounded annoyed. “seriously, like it was kind of hard to enjoy everything when he was staring like that.”

“hey, don’t put your view of the entire evening on spencer.” i told him while exiting the walk-in closet. 

james rolled his eyes. “of course you’re defending him.” 

“i’m not defending him, james!”

“yes you are! you always do!”

“because he’s my best friend! you’d defend noah if i ever blamed him for something.”

james looked away, frustrated and biting back some remarks. “that’s different.” he muttered. 

i crossed my arms over my chest. “how? how is it different?” i asked. “is it because spencer and i aren’t the same gender? is that why?” 

james shook his head. “no, it’s not.” 

“oh, i think it is.” i scoffed, looking away at the floor. i kicked my toes into the carpet. 

the room got silent, and heavy with angst. 

“i’m sorry.” i apologized. “i didn’t mean to… make this into an argument, i just wish you’d accept that spence is my friend.” 

james sighed and walked forward, gently putting his arms around me when i was in reach. he put his chin on my shoulder and i did the same. “i’m sorry too. and i’m working on it.” 

i nodded slightly. “i know… but it’s been three years that you’ve been working on it.” my arms didn’t circle around his back in return. 

“stuff takes time… you know that.” james pulled away, hands on my waist as he looked at me. i nodded. “do you want me to order take out?” 

i nodded my head. “we already ate but sure.” james smiled and kissed me once. i didn’t close my eyes. 

“i’ll go order. you can change into something else.” he smiled and left the room. 

i sighed once he was gone, almost deflating. as i changed i glanced at my phone, itching to call someone.

“hey, mom.” i gave in and called my mom. 

she was delighted to hear from me, answering the call with a happy, “hey! how are you and james?” i sighed and rubbed my eyes. “did something happen?”

“yeah… well… i don’t know.” i replied. “we got into an argument.”

“about what?” 

“… spencer.” i uttered my coworkers name quietly. 

my mom sighed on the other end. “how’d it start?”

i went off in a rant when she asked, telling her about the entire argument. 

“… wow…” that was all my mom said after i’d calmed down. she paused. “well… what do you think of the whole conversation?”

i shrugged with an exhausted sigh. “i don’t know, mom. he just…” i put my head in one hand. “he doesn’t get it. spencer is my best friend and yes, friends are close, no that doesn’t mean we’re into each other. i don’t know why he gets mad at me for it.” i picked at my nails as spencer popped into my head.

“maybe he’s jealous.” my mom suggested it but she sounded very sure. “you do see spencer everyday and rarely ever see james.” 

“he’s not jealous.” i scoffed. “he knows spence isn’t a threat to our relationship. i… i love james.” i felt like i was convincing myself.

my mom hummed to herself. “you sounded hesitant.” 

i groaned. she can see right through me. “i have to go. thank you for talking with me.” i told her.

“of course. i love you.”

“i love you, mom.” i hung up and squeezed my phone in my hand. “you’re okay.” i told myself before walked into the living room where james was seated on the couch. 

he was working on his computer and didn’t look at me when i sat beside him. my phone was set on my coffee table.

“what’re you working on?” i wondered. my cheek rested on his shoulder. 

“just something i forgot to get done earlier.” he was vague but kissed the top of my head with a quick turn of his. “food will be here soon.” 

i nodded and closed my eyes only for a few minutes. 

my phone started to ring from where it was on the table and james grabbed it, answering the call without even reading the callers name. “this is james.” he said. “she’s right next to me, why do you need to talk to her?” 

i sat up from where i was rested against james as i listened to him speak with the caller. he sounded upset about who was calling. 

his eyes drifted to me. “mhm… okay, yeah, i’ll tell her. bye.” he hung up and set my phone on the coffee table harshly. “it was spencer. he said you guys have a case.” he said it without even looking at me. his jaw was clenched. 

my eyes lingered in his profile and with a quick swallow i stood up, phone in my hand as i went back to our room to grab my go bag and change into something else.

when i walked back out and headed to the door james looked at me from over the back of the couch. “how long are you gonna be gone?” he asked. 

i shrugged. “i’ll let you know when i get to the tarmac.” i said it nicely but he only settled into the couch again, his back to me. “i’ll see you when i get back. i love you.”

REGULUS BLACK IN MY DRs

yeah. it's THE regulus post. IM FINALLY DOING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

so far, reg is in five drs of mine: marauders (duh), f1, asoiaf, twilight (bear with me), and kingsman. today i will be detailing what he's like in those drs because i am lowkey very proud of myself for being creative and fitting him in as well as i can. and also i love him. BLEUUUUGH!!!!

the BASICS about him:

he's a leo. his birthday is august 7, and he's a little less than a year younger than me (COUGAR ALERT!!! 😱). the original reason he's an august baby is cause i refused to have him be more than a year younger than me in my marauders dr... but now it's kind of stuck, and he is like 100% a leo in my head. Well yes!

he is in fact half french and speaks it fluently

in every dr he's in, sirius is his brother. i am not being responsible for separating them (again...)

he is also always bffs with evan. i'm not separating them EITHER!!

i don't have a specific fc for him - no one fits my vision. timothée chalamet is probably the closest you can get, but there are several people who have an element of regulus to them, those being: elijah hewson, alain delon, and (occasionally) mark eydelshteyn.

HUGELY IMPORTANT!!! he has grey eyes and faint freckles on his nose. FIGHT ME IDGAF

we are both in seventh year...

he's the slytherin prefect and seeker. Yay.

we've known each other since we were 6 and 7 years old, and from that point on we were great friends

he was best friends with evan, and i was best friends with sirius, but despite that, him and i were really close, and had a much more... tame? vibe

this, however, was until fifth year when he randomly decided to dump me. in front of the whole school. on the quidditch pitch. after i won. Soooo cool!

so now we don't like each other (we are both liars)

i guess you could call us more rivals than enemies but he sure does not do me any favours

although he does have a penchant for staring at me in potions... must be the humidity playing tricks on me

rather, he studies classics at oxford (cough... NERD...) and is a piano tutor in his spare time

i've known him since we were 13 or 14 – him and evan met in boarding school, and i would see a LOT of him because of how close they were

we did not get along in the beginning, which was entirely my fault 😞

long story short, we were rivals/frenemies for a while until we eventually grew out of it and didn't see each other as often

we hung out at a party last year, but fell victim to miscommunication (NOOO!!! NOOOOOO!) and now have beef AGAIN!!!!!!

but never fear! everything will work out because he will mysteriously show up at the first race of the season in bahrain, looking to talk to me!

this dr is very much still in the works (so bear with me me if some of this doesn't make exact sense), but i am quite proud of it...

i made house black an actual house of the north. their land, or territory that they control, is called the blacklands, and it's known for being a freaking horror movie

in this dr, sirius was a (very good but very slutty) knight who suspiciously went missing... (ran away to the free cities), leaving reg as the sole heir...

regulus black, now lord of his family and house after his father was taken ill, finds himself in a living nightmare – aligned with house bolton, complicit in the betrayal of the starks, and surrounded on all sides by stark allies

guess what. motherfucker gets kidnapped

for less than 12 hours though!

somehow the shittiest mormont bannermen are tasked with taking him (they obviously know that regulus has never held a sword in his LIFE)

lucky for him, i stumble upon him in a bit of a pickle, and decide to help him out. you know, being a knight of valour and justice and all that

guys it's nothing! really it's just a day in the life of the best knight in westeros (jaime lannister i'm gonna end u).

this little run-in basically puts us on a tedious road back to getting him to his family

hilarity ensues, and ends with me swearing allegiance to him and ONLY him. NOT his family. romance is in fact not dead and neither is my undying devotion

sirius also comes back from the dead after hearing about regulus being in trouble, which adds MORE drama to everything

"unhand my brother!" (i promptly laugh in his face)

MORE hilarity ensues, because everyone eventually finds out who i actually am (balon greyjoy's daughter). fun for all the family!

if you can't tell, this dr is a bit unserious. i don't really like everyone getting stabbed to death or burnt alive, so i will in fact be working my way around that (somehow). Stay Tuned!

regulus is a vampire. YAY! but was also a wizard! Oh?

yeah. this is sort of a hp x twilight dr, but i have no interaction with the magic side of it because i dont want to. TAKE THAT!

DISCLAIMER 2!!! he has never taken a human life and point blank refuses to even think about it

basically, similar to canon, regulus died trying to destroy horcruxes, but didn't... actually... die. he was turned into a vampire

AGAIN!!!!!!! HE WAS NOT A DEATH EATER!!!!! just a fucking genius

anyways he went to albania to try and find that fuckass diadem and ended up getting bit by a vampire at the age of 19. good for him (he thinks it's worse than death #EdwardCullenCore)

vampires and wizards have MAJOR arcane ancient beef (like in the hp books) and so regulus was turned almost entirely out of spite. it was a huge FUCK YOU! from his maker

because vampires are technically dead, as soon as he was turned, he lost all his magic, and all connection to the magical world. it was basically as if he never had any in the first place

once he was changed, he had to learn everything from the beginning, because he knew nothing about non-magical society

it also caused an identity crisis because he spent his whole life being told that his family was superior because they were "pureblooded" but none of it mattered in relation to magic because. DEATH IS THE GREAT EQUALIZER!!

he basically hid out in the scottish highlands for a couple decades, learning how to assimilate with society and act human

he also pretended to be his own descendant and has inherited his own house twice by doing it. (i think edward also does the same thing from memory...)

he finds it very amusing to give his fictional descendants the worst names possible as well. the last name he made up was HERCULES BLACK?????????? putain de merde, as the french say

he also found a way into the magical world and tried to see sirius (did not go well; he hasn't tried again)

he went out looking for other vampires because he realised he knew nothing after 40 something years as one, and eventually ended up at the cullens

which is where i come in!

imagine my surprise when i – friend of the quileutes, sworn enemy of edward cullen, and freshly back from australia – am ambushed on my shift at the hospital by a new freaking vampire! and he's HOT?! I'm COOKED!

anyways! L for jasper as well because reg is younger than him and has way better self control. bulletproof self control actually

also regulus' power is. he can sort of hypnotise people? he can make eye contact with someone and put them in a trance – they won't remember anything for a period of 30 seconds to 5 minutes depending on how long he looks at them for

no header for this one, since it's pretty much just a feeling i have

once again, this is sort of a crossover dr between slow horses and kingsman

before i was part of kingsman, i worked at mi5, alongside river cartwright (before he was put in slough house)

i was one of their top agents, and seriously well respected

at this point, i only knew regulus as evan's best friend, and a pretentious rich kid

that is until, on an assignment, i was following a target, and ran into him doing the exact same thing. we were following the same person, for the same reason. it was essentially that spiderman meme of us pointing at each other (with guns unfortunately)

anyways uhh the run in was not friendly and shots were in fact fired (HE WOULDN'T TELL ME WHY TF HE WAS THERE!!!!!!!)

after this incident, i was put on leave. like Fine but WTF

i was contacted by a man called will green (agent Gawain (DEV PATEL!!!)), who said he'd seen the footage of my run in with regulus, reviewed my record at mi5, and wanted to talk

WHAT FOOTAGE?! i was bewildered, but agreed to meet (i needed a job)

anyways, this was my induction into kingsman. he nominated me as a candidate for the position of agent viviane, and i passed all the trials with flying colours

regulus (agent Tristan) was not pleased

since then (seeing as that was 2 years ago), we have been in constant competition

he wont me fr he's just way too petty to admit it

to be fair, i still spite him for fucking up my career in the service, so. we're even

i lowkey just came up with all that kingsman lore on the spot, but yeah! if there's one thing i'm gonna do, it's make sure that i get my rivals to lovers!

ok. i think that's it. i'm running on 4.5 hours of sleep, but one thing is for certain: I LOVE REGULUS BLACK!!! they don't call me ih3artreggie for nothing!

look, y'all can all gleeful cancel me for this #unpopular opinion if you want, but even IF Nicola wasn't nominated for the comedy section and it was her and Luke head to head in best drama?

I'd still vote for him

because I genuinely and truly think his acting is INCREDIBLE. and I think he's one of the better actors on Bridgerton full stop. I love the nuance he brings to Colin as a character, I love how he so fully embodies him as a character and that Colin has similarities to him, but is fully different at the same time. Colin does not talk like Luke, walk like Luke, even fidget like Luke. He has his own character beats and yes, sometimes parts of Luke bleed into him, such as with the head tilt, but the voice is different, softer, the movements of Colin as a character are distinct to me, he delivers humor well ('you'd already be dead?') and his decisions for Colin as a character are ICONIC (I'm never forgetting that dress adjustment with specific fingers was all him). Colin had a harder go of it than a lot of leads because his story isn't as loud- he doesn't get a lot of big, dramatic moments to have big dramatic acting, and honestly the show didn't give him a lot of screentime in the first place. But when he does have poignant emotional moments? They feel REAL. He isn't given as much time with the audience as other characters are and he doesn't go for the broad strokes with his acting, so sometimes I think he can get lost in some of the louder acting, but that doesn't negate the fact that he's GOOD. He's a good ass actor. He plays Colin like Colin is an actual person.

And for me? For me, that hits home. Even with truncated time on his own season (yeah, I'm still bitter), he delivers every single time. Anger, betrayal, longing, heartache, silly awkward humor, heat- and he does all of those emotions BELIEVABLY. I watched Luke Newton depict Colin falling in love so beautifully and so realistically, I HAVE NO CHOICE but to give him his flowers. Just because he's not as heavy in the hustle as other actors are (please remember this is a neurodivergent actor with anxiety and dyslexia, mental health is important and it's good he took a break ) doesn't mean he's not a fantastic actor. And if you've ever seen his depiction in The Shape of Things? The man is excellent.

I think Bridgerton has a lot of 'big moves' actors. And that's fine. Many people prefer that. But I prefer the nuanced moments and the softer beats of it all, and I think if the camera had allowed us as an audience a longer glimpse into moments with Colin, we'd all be even more floored. I can watch gifs of his scenes over and over and over again and find something new every time.

So y'all can sit there and accuse others of a 'pity vote' but idgaf. Luke Newton is one of the best actors on that show. And I stand by that. Eat me.

October is my birth month and my favorite season, so I was excited to see what the universe had in store for me and whoa did it come through.

I was inspired by a blog who shared her experience with yoga nidra, but then deactivated due to trolls sending her horrible messages. In complete honesty, I kind of wish that Stranger Things would have just been two high quality seasons. They should have let El die in S1, and then focused on Mike, Will, and the origins of the Upside Down in S2. At this point, the story has been dragged on for so long, and, if S5 fails to recontextualize a lot of things from S3 and S4, there was a lot of unnecessary filler that just weighed the entire show down.

I agree with this pretty heavily. It’s obvious that they dragged storylines out and didn’t have everything completely plotted by how dysfunctional s3 and 4 are in comparison with s1 and 2. It almost feels like two completely different shows. When s3 first aired, I almost didn’t finish it because I hated it that much. S4 was pretty similar tbh… the NINA plotline and the Russian shit was so terrible that me and my sister debated skipping the scenes I’m not even kidding lol. Literally the only thing that kept us watching vol 2 was any crumb of Mike and Will scenes and then seeing what happened with Max. That was fr it. The second we finished vol 2 we immediately turned off the tv and then started shit talking it 😂 we were NOT impressed lol.

The Russian plot was dumb as fuck in s3, and it was even worse in s4. Literally the dumbest thing this show ever tried to pull and comes across as more unbelievable than inter-dimensional monsters lol. Idgaf about the Russian fuckery. It’s fucking stupid as hell and I can feel myself losing braincells in real time whenever I have to rewatch scenes of it. summary: Josette Barham was raised by Lady Danbury from the age of 5, now at the large (and late) age of 19, Josette is set to debut.

a/n: this is low key like a prologue, juicy stuff happens next chapter I promise :) I’m aging Simon down tremendously, present day is set during season 2 where Josette is 19 and Simon is 3 years older so he is 22. I know that would technically be like Colin’s age, but we’re just going to ignore it bc idgaf. also so sorry if my regency language isn’t good, i tried lmao.

“Auntie Danbury, when will mama and father be here?” You ask tugging on the poor woman’s dress.

“Patience, my dear child, is a virtue.” She says swatting your hand away, “Go run along and continue playing with Simon, I will have your maid fetch you when they arrive.”

Hugging the woman you’ve always known as your aunt, you run back into the garden and find the boy you’ve always considered your sibling, despite not being related in any capacity.

“Excuse me, Lady Danbury” Kent, one of her closest staff says interrupting her watchful eye on the children. “I’m afraid I have bad news regarding Mister and Lady Barham’s carriage.”

Taking a second to process what he said she looks him in the eyes.

“Go on and say it then,”

“I think it best if we step indoors for this conversation.”

Sighing at the anxiety now resting in her belly, Lady Danbury takes a final look at the children in the garden then back to Kent. Nodding, she follows the man inside.

“Give me my flower back! Simon!” You say chasing him throughout seemingly endless rows of flowers.

Finally catching him, you take the flower back and you both begin laughing. Now looking for Lady Danbury’s recognition, you’re both shocked to see her absence.

“Where’d she go?” You ask Simon to which he shrugs.

Your relationship with Simon is simple, you talk, he listens. The three year age difference doesn’t allow you to completely understand the fact that he doesn’t talk due to being embarrassed of his stutter, but you don’t mind. Mainly because when Simon is with you, he rarely ever stutters, and if he does it’s not nearly as bad as if he were to talk to his father.

“Should we go find her?” You ask to which he takes a second to think.

Nodding in response, you begin to run off with his approval, but he quickly catches you again.

“Follow after me,” He says quietly to which you both walk carefully to the house.

Sneaking in through the back door, you continue following the boy to the main room.

“What are you saying!?” You hear Lady Danbury lash out towards Kent.

Quickly hiding behind a side table, the two of you continue eavesdropping.

“What I’m saying Lady Danbury, is that the Barhams have been in a fatal carriage crash, they both died upon impact…I am so sorry for your loss.” Kent says pausing before walking away from the woman.

Looking at Simon, the two of you silently agree to sneak away. This is information you weren’t supposed to hear, or at least not yet.

“Simon and Josette, what will I do with the two of you?” Lady Danbury chuckles through the obvious tears pooling in her eyes.

You and Simon freeze in your places. Locking eyes with each other, you both bow your heads in defeat.

“Lady Danbury, you c-caught us…” Simon finally says turning around and walking back towards her with you quickly in pursuit.

“The two of you are not as sneaky as you may believe, I always know.” She says teasingly as she picks you up into her arms.

Looking at Simon who is now below you as you rest your small head on Lady Danbury’s shoulder, her voice quickly catches your attention again.

“Shall we have the help prepare us ice cream for this evening?” She asks causing you to spark up.

“B-but, wouldn’t that ruin our dinner?” Simon asks to which she chuckles.

“Always looking to do the right thing, hm Simon? What if I were to tell you, we could have ice cream, for dinner?”

Looking at Simon, the both of you quickly nod your heads. Chuckling as she leads you to the dining table, your mind can’t help but wander back to what you just heard. Shoving the thought aside, you know Lady Danbury would soon explain everything.

10 years ago: age 9

“Lady Danbury, why does no one want me?” You ask looking at her through the vanity mirror as she brushes your hair.

“Whatever could you mean Miss Josette?”

“I over hear you, when you talk to your advisors…my mother had no other family, and my father’s one and only sister does not wish to take me in. Which is why I’ve been staying with you, but you do not wish to keep me. No one wants me.” Tears now prickling your eyes, Lady Danbury stands you up and looks you in the eyes face to face.

“Josette Barham, do you know why you are not included in those conversations?” She asks, to which you shake your head no.

“Because, those are adult conversations. Now, are you an adult?” She asks again, to which you shake your head no again.

“No you are not. But I will explain, Miss Josette. I am not your true aunt. I was given that title, because your mother and I were the best of friends. She loved me so much, that she felt as if I were a sister to her… now before you were born, a plan was made.”

“A plan?”

“A plan, a plan of what to do incase absolutely anything happened to your father, Marquess Flinn Barham, and your mother, Marchoiness Genevieve Barham. That plan was turned into a contract and that contract said, If anything were to happen to Miss Josette Barham’s parents, that she would be put under the guardianship of Sarah Barham, and if that were not to happen, then you would be put under the guardianship of me, Lady Danbury. Are you following?”

“Yes…so my real aunt Sarah, did not want me?”

“No, your aunt Sarah very much wanted you. But Sarah was unable to provide you with the life your parents wanted you to have. Sarah chose to put you before herself and have you continue to stay with me. She loves you very much, but she is unfit to raise a blooming child, do you understand?”

“Yes. But you do not want me either…I hear you talking to them, you say that I am rabid and that I never listen. But I try! I’ve been trying to do better, but you still tell them I am not good enough…why am I not good enough?” Tears now streaming down your face, Lady Danbury looks at you with a very confused expression. That is until she now understands what you are saying.

“Josette Barham, this is why those are adult conversations. I was not speaking about you, I was telling the servants about the new dog we picked out, do you remember?” She says chuckling at how one simple miscommunication caused you to feel such large feelings.

“Oh…Are you talking about Hairy?” You ask more chipper now.

“Yes, that horrendously trimmed dog, she does not listen!” Lady Danbury says pulling you into her embrace.

Laughing loudly at her exclamation, you lean into her arms.

“Josette, I hope you know, that I would never speak of you that way, do you understand?” She says now pulling you away to look at your face.

“Are you being truthful?” You ask reluctantly.

“When have I lied?” She asks narrowing her eyes.

2 years ago: age 17

“Hello Kent,” You say greeting your favorite servant as you step out of the carriage.

“Miss Barham, lovely to see you again. Lady Danbury is waiting for you in the dining room. We shall bring your belongings up shortly.”

“Thank you,” You say walking past him and into your childhood home.

“Ah, there you are! How have you been?” Lady Danbury greets as she was walking into the dining room.

“I’ve been well, thank you for asking. I absolutely adore France.”

“I knew you would, now come sit we’re about to start dinner.” She says walking away.

Admiring the art on the walls and the nostalgic decorations, you contentfuly sigh. Not having been in your childhood home in 2 years, you happily make your way to the dining room.

“Simon!?” You all but screech as you lay your eyes at the table in front of you.

“Josie! You’re here?” He says getting up and greeting you.

“No, I’m in your imagination.” You respond playfully as you embrace your brother.

“Okay, okay, enough greetings, come sit I have not seen either of you in months and I miss my children.” Lady Danbury says.

You and Simon sit across from each other at the end of the table where Lady Danbury sits at the head.

“So, It is your holiday breaks and they’ve finally lined up to meet at the same time. Usually I’m the one having to visit the both of you, so please tell me everything.” The three of you grin at each other before Simon decides to go first.

“…Anyways, I do not wish to sit here and talk your heads off, Josie what have you been up too?” Simon asks as he takes another bite of his food.

“Well, touring Europe these last 2 years has been absolutely splendid. While I am sad that I am not able to visit home as much as I would have liked, I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to learn. Just 3 weeks ago we arrived in France where I am completely and utterly mesmerized at all times. It is beautiful there. I have also been working on my writing! …I just wish that instead of returning home…for what should be my debut season in two months, that I had more time to continue learning…” You try to say subtly but when you look to meet Lady Danbury’s eyes, she looks very unimpressed.

“Josie, what are you trying to say?” She says seeing completely through the ruse you’re trying to plant.

Looking over to Simon who is simply eating his food, not trying to get in the middle of whatever this has turned into, you sigh.

“I simply wish that, I would possibly be able to continue my education for another year before I debut…” You sheepishly say looking at your food.

“Josie, If I grant you this one year to continue your education, do you swear that at this time next year, you will be home telling me how overjoyed you are to make your debut in two months?” Lady Danbury says causing sparks to fly in your belly.

“Yes! Yes, of course! Without a doubt, no fuss in sight!” You exclaim looking at Simon who is in shock that you were able to get out of your debut.

Present Day: age 19

“Do you know when Josette is estimated to be home?” Violet Bridgerton asks Lady Danbury.

“She is supposed to arrive any second now.” She says taking a long sip of her unsweetened tea.

Mokichi, conceived a year or so after the 4th war:

A shy, often a sickly kid and would give the polycule heart attacks whenever he caught seasonal illnesses - Tae loves fall and winter but for the first few years of Kichi's life he spent most of those seasons indoors monitoring his son's health (helped Tae get closer again to his brother though since Takashi would run over in an instant when Tae called him about little Kichi being under the weather)

Polite, anxious little bug, Mokichi is the sweetest thing to ever grace Tae's life and he loves his baby sprout more than anything in the world; he'd love him just as much regardless, but for the longest time Tae assumed it'd be impossible for him to conceive after an incident when he was sixteen that lead to complications

This leads to Tae being very clingy with him and on top of regular parental worry even into his teens, Tenzo blooms like a field of sunflowers whenever anyone compliments how well mannered and helpful his boy is

Though he has no plans to become a shinobi, his parents and relatives train with him on and off so he's very familiar with the basics and has an interest with genjutsu

Mokichi also has a little vegetable garden behind the house he's tended to ever since he could walk with Tae and Tenzo's supervision and his hair is in reference to Itama Senju (we're not questioning how it works alright the genes are geneticing)

I think Tenzo is reserved enough that he doesn't care what happens to Orochimaru so long as he's stopped—because what's done is done and Yamato's had to live his entire life like that— content to let him rot in prison forever and all that, but it's only mildly an exaggeration to say Tae wants him publicly executed for his crimes against humanity

Even post-Orochimaru's death (Kakashi would NOT let that shit fly idgaf what Kishi thinks) Tenzo is still mostly ambivalent but when Mokichi's health issues show up he finally starts resenting him posthumously because maybe it's those experiments' faults his son is having so much trouble

Tae's beside himself initially, he apologizes to Kichi while he slept whenever he got sick for not being able to give his son a stronger immune system as the one who carried him through some maybe misplaced sense of responsibility and it takes both parents years to reconcile this

Yuichi, Yukari, born three years after Mokichi:

Troublemakers one and two, they take after the Nanadaime's prankster days and most people can't tell them apart for a long time basically until they dye their hair, even some relatives (Naruto in particular, but also Tsunade, Raidou, and Kakashi - though they suspect the latter is just playing along for a bit)

Though they're showered with as much love and attention four dads can give, it's a little lame having the academy's principle as one of them, so the boys often act out to be cool or impress their peers; Yui and Yuka would never dream of it in front of Yamato because of how "scary" he can be despite how often Iruka chews them out, and for some reason can never really bring themselves to intentionally upset Tae

Yuka is often the mastermind of any prank they pull, typically on the general public or sometimes their "wimpy" older brother, while Yui is his enabler and makes sure their plans go well - they're smart, talented kids at the end of the day, the twins just have to go through the dreaded attention-seeking phase just like every other kid their age

Yuichi and Yukari are inseparable growing up but as they reach tween to teen age the boys have a falling out of epic sibling proportions - and make it everyone else's problem; Yui pulls away because he feels like he's being forced to live his life as part of a matching set, becoming more recluse, Yuka in return feels like he's losing his twin and best friend because nothing's getting through to him like it normally would and neither of them are communicating about it

Yuka comes home obnoxiously yelling that he hates having a brother after their big fight and slams the door shut to their room with Yui lagging behind at the front door—opens it a crack to clarify that he doesn't mean Mokichi though—and then shuts it again so he can cry into his pillow, the dads have to obviously intervene

After making up, their bond is different but stronger, and the boys also branch out and mingling with people without necessarily having to rely on each other - Yuichi starts hanging out with Uncle Mizuki and Aunt Koko because he's always liked his dad's team mates and their weird dynamic, Yukari makes new friends by being the social butterfly that he always ways

Yui's gender is also ??? weird but he's comfortable in masculinity, Yuka's got that tboy swag just like Tae and Tenzo with way more unearned confidence (this is also a front for his insecurities)

Inumi, born 6 years after Mokichi:

Not very verbal a lot of the time, very similar to how Tae was a kid; they're scared of the bigger Inuzuka dogs but like playing with the puppies whenever Kenta or one of their other dads brings them to the Inuzuka compound; Slate is unfortunately one of the dogs that Inumi gets scared around and they would cry as a baby whenever he barked louder than a certain threshold

Tsume and Kiba also kind of scare them with how rowdy they can get (miss ma'am destroyed her son's breakfast for waking up late jfc) but they'll cling to Hana's legs and really enjoys when Hyou comes to visit with Bull (the one exception to the big dog rule, they're chill with Kakashi's other ninken as well), they also like Hinata and Shino but have tried to impulsively eat some of his kikaichu before as a toddler

Despite their dads' (pretend) beef Inumi gets along with Mokichi the most out of their siblings, he'll sit with them quietly for hours without expecting them to respond and it's a weight off their little shoulders - Kichi also makes little origami figures for them while he does his homework or whenever he gets sick and in return Numi gets excited to help wash the vegetables from his garden when they're ready to harvest

Yui and Yuka called them lame initially but they secretly kept the cranes Mokichi made for their birthday - the cat was let out of the bag one day when Yuka couldn't find his while cleaning his (very cluttered) side of their room and cried for hours; Kichi made his silly baby brother many more cranes after this

Inumi loves the twins too of course, even if they're hard to get along with sometimes, but Kichi's their gentle kind of a pushover big brother and they'll do whatever it takes to protect him

Along with the eldest of these kids, Inumi's also perfected the infamous wide-eyed owl stare Tae's terrified many people with whether he means to or not, Numi has no problem being intentionally scary just like Yamato whenever anyone poses a threat to the people they care about; Mokichi in particular

possibly a controversial opinion because bylers are often keen to demonstrate their love for el, but:

i think that a big part of getting audiences to move away from loving mileven was in making el a frustrating character as much as mike. bylers talk about why mike's actions show his hidden love for will, while milevens argue why his actions show he loves el. but no one talks about how el's storyline both within, and without, mileven show that they are no good together.

which, cute, i wanted that after the snow ball too. but then s3 happened. and you have to wonder: why were mileven SO annoying immediately in s3? it wasnt just mike. i stand by this: el was smarmy af and i hated the way she clung to mike. idgaf if people are gonna call me ableist or what have you, because her developmental issues have made her endearing so many times in the show, but they were NOT framed this way in s3 when she was with mike. el was made to be an annoying bad egg in that relationship, too.

and in s4, i truly believe the audience is made to cringe at even the concept of her and mike together, due to the way they both act, look, appear on screen. and el has so much screen time that i think it's supposed to make us long for something else, like finally seeing will's side of the story. el fatigue is real and lots of viewers mention it, not just fans. i'll never forget how literally nobody noticed when she wasn't even in dear billy, which is considered the best episode of s4.

i hope i don't sound cruel, because when el is rocking it, she's rocking it. but when she's meant to annoy us (like in many scenes with mike), she's really grating. the scene where they fight in 4x03 is one of my favourites, i think it's gorgeously acted and finn and millie have incredible actor's chemistry. not romantic chemistry, but dramatic chemistry. just goes to show that the other awkward, flat, dead mileven scenes in s4 are very much deliberate.

OOOOOHH CONTROVERSY AND I AGREEE COMPLETELY

First - outta the way - the comment "My dream is that we’ll see Mike and El fighting evil side by side like a warrior king and queen" almost made me throw up 🤣 NO. Holy shit that's so cooked. No. Kill me.

But this really nails a lot of the critique of Mike and El together - and show relevant reasoning, just calling it like we're seeing it. They are soooo bad together. Season 1 - fine, there was a lot going on, the innocence of youth, it was simple. Season 2 - Mike and El weren't together for most of it, survivor's guilt, reunited and emotions were high, getting that little formative preteen moment. THEN - actually dating??? They are the WORST! Both of them turned into bad versions of themselves - and sad for El who barely had a version of herself. She didn't even know how to form her own interests, pointed out by means of friendship with Max, and we're to root for El and Mike as boyfriend and girlfriend? That right there is insane. "How do I know what I like" and we're to root for Mike and El. That's crazy.

If Mike was an asshole in season 3, El had her less than redeeming moments as well - and they're teenagers, and teenagers are insufferable!! That's the whole point of season 3! They make bad decisions and are annoying little shits and get swept up in feelings and silly relationships. We don't hate them for it, but suffer through alongside them and watch and hope that they make it through alright and figure themselves out in the end. Give them grace - but it's ok to point out their flaws.

So many people are so afraid of saying anything negative about El and yes, they do put a lot of it on Mike. But... what does El ever do for Mike? WHAT does she bring to their relationship???? Like, in general. He's like an accessory for her. And that's irritating. And so... I think the show has been leading us to see how ridiculous that couple is.

WAIT - she wasn't in Dear Billy?? I never noticed that either and that's quite something, isn't it?

But it's not a hatred for this character for me - it's just a wish for her to be involved in something else. Negate the fatigue. It's time for El to move herself forward in the story, enough self-searching and being lost - time to act, time to be something for someone else as a means to help herself. It's why the fatigue is there - what more can she do other than revisit her past and yell to expend powers in an act of destruction and struggle in her relationship and demand empty words of love from a boy where they are so obviously not coming easy which says it all, girl!!! Take action. Move on!

We need to see her working with others, we need to see her choosing good, we need to see her utilizing any lesson, any positive. Her moment at the end of season 4 was El at her best - saving Max. Here's to hoping her story is about her working with others to save their friend, spending screen time with her pseudo mother and father to drive home the point that her family can give her strength most of all - and my own hope for El if the story rumor is true that the govt. is stealing kids again - taking back her past by securing the future for those other kids. Saving people, rather than her big moments being violence. The show needs to drive home her humanity rather than the superhero she fears is all she is - and the fear that in the end it's a flashy El is the superhero thing and they do her whole character arc dirty.

Also - if El survives the series she needs to lose her powers. That's important I feel... might be controversial as well...

SugiNagi vs Karmagisa

This is probably controversial but I'm so sick of seeing karmagisa everywhere so idgaf

Can I just say that Sugino is actually Nagisa's best friend, not Karma. Nagisa and Karma aren't even friends until halfway through season two. I mean Karma doesn't really have any friends other than Okuda, Rio, or maybe Terasaka, so he probably sits alone. But he isn't friends with Nagisa, he just leeches off him when he has to interact with someone.

Also, their relationship is really unhealthy. I would argue Karma putting Nagisa in a skirt after his arc with his mum is out of character but Karma is good at pushing boundries and Nagisa isn't good at putting up boundries so Karma ends up accidentally crossing the line. I say accidentally becuase after Yuuji, Nagisa is ever feminised again. Also, Karma is scared of Nagisa. He talks to Okuda about being scared to put his guard down again after Nagisa scared him and made Karma think Nagisa was going to murder him, which isn't healthy.

I think it's really funny that the fans always use the Civil War Arc (my least favourite arc which I will definitely redesign) to justify their ship even though it's a fight between the two. I feel like Karma is so out of character here because he wouldn't just 'give up' on his team, his classmates because of a friendship he ended no matter how much he cared for him. It's really clear that this arc is only set up to put Nagisa against Karma and win because the Karma that I know wouldn't be taking chances against Nagisa. In fact, Karma is the only character to not underestimate Nagisa (after getting poked ('stabbed') in the back by him). I think he wouldn't feel bad about taking Nagisa down until after he did because when you're fighting, you don't have time to stop and think, the adrenaline is pumping and I think given his fighting prowess againgst Grip, Karasuma, the guys in Karma's flashback in this arc and against all the other people he presumably gets into fights with, he would have beaten Nagisa (who's only talent is deception).

So Nagisa get harrassed/made uncomfortable or is cut off by Karma, and Karma's trust issues are heightened by Nagisa. So their relationship is unhealthy for both parties.

Sugino however, doesn't try to overstep Nagisa's boudries and in every scene Sugino is in, Nagisa is close by. They are shown to be quite good friends and I think it's so wierd that Sugio gets next to no screen time so a lot of their relationship will be headcanon and my redesign. I would assume that Sugino is at least a little bit concerned for Nagisa and seems to be caring but realistic, both in general and towards Nagisa, his best friend. He seems to hang out with Nagisa like over the summer break when they caught bugs together and seem to be close. Also, their relationship is healthy and Sugino would be respectful towards Nagisa and Nagisa would admire Sugino. Overall, their friendship is healthy so if it ever turned romantic it would be much better than karmagisa

Anyways, that's how I see it, but you're free to ship what you want. I actually don't ship either of these, I ship NagiKae but I think that SugiNagi is cute
