Three Overseas Players Royal Challengers Bangalore can Target in the IPL Auction
Three Overseas Players Royal Challengers Bangalore can Target in the IPL Auction
Curious about which overseas players Royal Challengers Bangalore can target in the IPL Auction? Here are the names of three international players Royal Challengers Bangalore can target in the IPL Auction 2023.
There was no surprise or shock because RCB kept its core team. The only notable name listed in RCB's publication is Sherfane Rutherford. At the IPL Mini Auction on December 23, they will have the smallest purse. Before the IPL 2023 mini-auction, the Royal Challengers Bangalore only released a small number of playersâone was traded and four others were released.
The fact that none of the five players released were a regular member of their playing XI last season when they finished fourth in the points table, and defeated Lucknow in the Eliminator before losing to Rajasthan in the Qualifier 2, failing one step from the final, gives you an idea of the strength of their surviving squad members and the management's clarity.
The three names of overseas players RCB can target in IPL Auction
1. Jason Holder
For many years, RCB has lacked a true all-rounder who can affect games both with the bat and the ball. They won't be able to afford Ben Stokes and Cameron Green because they only have INR 8.75 cr left in their budget.Â
Jason Holder, who excels in both skill sets, can be the target of RCB. The tall West Indian fast bowler bowls well at both the start and end of a game, giving up little under 8 runs per over. In 38 games, Holder has claimed 49 wickets.Â
Holder is a competent batsman as well. They can also utilize the right-handed batter as a floater. The Caribbean player has made major contributions with the bat over the past two years, scoring runs at a strike rate of 135 in final overs. As LSG kept mixing it up with his batting position, he was unable to make a significant impact with the bat. He will without a doubt be a target for RCB going into the IPL 2023 auction.

2. Joshua Little
Joshua Little's mind-blowing bowling performances have ignited the international bowling circuit. This calendar year, the 23-year-old has played in 26 T20Is and has 39 wickets at an economy of 7.58. He was quite exceptional at the just concluded T20 World Cup, taking 11 victims in seven games while maintaining an impeccable economy of 7.00.
Little is great at all stages of a T20 innings.. He is excellent at the tail end of the innings, deadly with the new ball and capable of filling in as an enforcer in the middle overs. Despite not having played in the IPL yet, he is in excellent shape and has a chance to succeed in the lucrative competition. As a result, a lot of franchises would be interested in investing in him, with Royal Challengers Bangalore being one of them.
There aren't many possibilities for death bowling in the RCB lineup. Additionally, the team's top death bowler, Harshal Patel, is having trouble finding his rhythm on the international stage. Therefore, Little may be a wonderful option if they needed quality reinforcements that could perform well during slog overs. Bangalore might then bid aggressively to secure the Irish pacer during the auction.

3. Sam Curran
Death bowling has undoubtedly been a glaring area of weakness for the legendary Royal Challengers Bangalore throughout the years. In the death overs, they have relied on the assistance of Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel, which has produced a mixed bag of outcomes for them. Sam Curran will provide them with both a dependable death bowler and a useful lower-order batsman who is strong enough to win games. The English all-outstanding rounder's bowling performance earned him Player of the Tournament honors in the recently finished T20 World Cup 2022.
He has grown as a death bowler and has been equally effective with the bat, therefore RCB will undoubtedly try to hire him during the IPL 2023 auction.
Conclusion
Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the few teams who has retained so many of their players. This team spirit with their players has led to a great increase in their reputation during the IPL 2023 Auction season.Â
FAQs
Q1. How many times have Royal Challengers Banglore won the IPL?
Although they haven't won the IPL, the Royal Challengers have placed second three times between 2009 and 2016. With totals of 263/5 and 49, respectively, the squad owns the record for both the highest and lowest totals in IPL history.
Q2. Who is the owner of Royal Challengers Banglore?
The biggest alcohol producer in India, United Spirits Limited, is the owner of RCB (Royal Challengers Banglore). A division of the London-based Diageo is United Spirits. RCB was established by United Spirits, who also gave the franchise the moniker Royal Challengers.
Q3. What type of bowler is Joshua Little?
Holder, a Barbados-born right-arm medium-fast bowler, has developed as a captain and player on the move, displaying an ever-improving temperament and advancement in technical and tactical understanding. He is a capable batter who bats lower in the order.Â

[ad_1] Manvanth Kumar (PC: Maharaja Trophy) In the blur of a moment, disappointment can turn to jubilation. The Karnataka all-rounder, Manvanth Kumar, would have experienced something similar after being picked by Delhi Capitals in the 2025 IPL Auction. For a while, it felt as if his name wouldnât even appear in the list. However, at the fag end of the two-day auction, it didnât just crop up on the board, but DC also bagged his services for INR 30 lakh. So, what did Manvanth make about the rollercoaster ride of watching the auction? âI didnât expect that Delhi Capitals would pick me, initially my name had got skipped,â he told RevSportz. âI thought to myself, âI have to work harder, there is always the next seasonâ. Afterwards, they picked me (and that) made me feel very happy.â His family members seemed to have some kind of intuition that Manvanth would land up with an IPL contract. âMy parents had plenty of hopes on me (smile),â he said. âThey said, âwe knew that you would get pickedâ. I had told them not to have such high hopes. They only called me and talked via a video. My brother said, âI thought Mumbai would pick you, but DC did in the end.ââ Just a few weeks back, there was something else that was echoing in his mind. That was about how to turn his fortunes around in the CK Nayudu Trophy. It didnât take long for the cheerful cricketer to lay down a marker with both the bat and ball, in a game against Odisha. He accumulated an eye-catching innings of 121 and also plucked nine wickets in the match. Soon, he was picked in the Karnataka squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. âThat match mattered a lot to me,â said Manvanth. âAfter playing the first match, they didnât play me in a couple of games. I thought, âI shouldnât get dropped againâ, I just grabbed the opportunity. I was visualising that kind of an innings as I hadnât scored a hundred for a while. I was (shadow) batting near the pitch, or thinking about what areas to bowl while standing next to the wicket. It was a green top, I like bowling on a green top.â Due to the busy schedule of having to play CK Nayudu Trophy, he couldnât attend a couple of trials of IPL franchises. But it looks like the head honchos of a particular team had seen enough of his potential and made up their minds on selecting him. âI could only attend the trials at Mumbai Indians, as I had to play matches in the CK Nayudu trophy,â he said. âI went to their trials three times. I was also called by CSK, RCB and DC. I couldnât go for DC and RCBâs trials due to the matches. âI bowled well in the first trials. In the first over, I was hit around in the Powerplay, but bowled well in my second over. My batting was okay. In the second trial, it didnât go as well as I thought.â Before the CK Nayudu tournament, Manvanth also made an impression in the Maharaja Trophy, picking up 15 scalps for Hubli Tigers. In the Bengaluru Blasters-Tigers game, his all-round abilities sparkled brightly. The tall all-rounder accrued a breezy 15-ball 28 for Tigers and then he bagged a four-for. If Shubang Hedge was done in by a delivery that bounced more than expected, then the experienced Mayank Agarwal was dismissed by a cracker â the ball angled in before leaving a stunned Mayank to catch the edge. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Manvanth Kumar in action in the Maharaja T20 Trophy (PC: Maharaja Trophy) If you wondered whether his heroics in that match were confined to those two deliveries, then you were wrong. The game needed as many as three Super Overs to break the deadlock and it was yet again Manvanth who rose to the occasion by cracking a couple of boundaries, including the winning shot, to steer his side to a spine-tingling victory. Incidentally, Manvanth had also taken 22 scalps in last yearâs Maharaja Trophy, but he isnât resting on his laurels. Manvanth seems to have that extra bit of motivation to learn new tricks of the trade in order to pursue excellence. He has tried to fine-tune the art of bowling the knuckle ball as well as nailing the yorkers.
His head was falling away a little bit to the left side and that has been rectified. During that time, he also worked with Mansur Ali Khan and Vinay Kumar, the coach and mentor of Tigers. âVinay sir had called me over for the Mumbai Indiansâ trials,â said Manvanth. âMAK sir also gives me advice. Previously, I wasnât nailing the yorkers accurately. So, this year, I have improved on bowling the yorkers. Also, how to be mentally strong in different situations, how to make a comeback if you get hit, how to remain patient, all these things I have learnt.â His urge to improve by small percentages could be observed by his reply to a question on his initial thoughts of playing alongside the likes of KL Rahul, Mitchell Starc, T Natarajan and others at DC. âIPL is not a small thing at all,â he said. âObviously, Mitchell Starc, he played in the IPL finals last season. How was the situation, how he handled the pressure, I will get more clarity on all that.â That is Manvanthâs professional career so far. But there is still a question to be answered. From where did he get the initiation to take up the game of willow and leather? How did it blossom? Here, Hemanth Kumar, his elder brother, ended up playing a pivotal role. âHe was the reason why I came to this stage,â said Manvanth. âIf he and my father had not made me join (the academy), I wouldnât have made it till here. By watching him play, I got till here. I joined MUCSC â Mysore University Colleges Sports Council. Now, I am playing for RBNCC.â There is also a small twist in the tale. It turns out that batting was perhaps his main suit a few years ago. But a certain performance convinced Manvanth about his bowling skills. âIn my first year in Under-19 Zonals, I had taken 7 wickets for 5 runs in nine overs, that gave me lots of confidence. The reason for me becoming more of a bowler than a batter was that spell.â Not just his brother, but Manvanth also draws inspiration from England captain and star all-rounder, Ben Stokes. âI like Stokes, the kind of role he plays for the team,â he said. âI like his mindset, how he keeps getting the breakthroughs when the team needs it the most. The one innings that I like about him is that knock in Leeds (versus Australia), how he won the game for England, how he rotated the strike, his aggression, playing reverse sweeps. It was too good.â There is one more quality that stands out about Manvanth. Whatever the question, he seems to wear a smile. Probably, he knows when to switch on and switch off. That trait of Manvanth could help him to survive the hard grind of playing in the IPL. Explosive Performances in T20 Cricket: Highest Individual Scores
T20 cricket is renowned for its fast-paced action and breathtaking performances. Over the years, weâve witnessed some jaw-dropping innings that have set new benchmarks in the shortest format of the game. The highest individual scores in T20 cricket highlight the raw power, skill, and audacity of the sportâs greatest players. In this blog, weâll explore some of the most memorable individual performances that have left fans and commentators in awe.
1. Chris Gayle
On April 23, 2013, in Bengaluru, Chris Gayle redefined T20 cricket with a blistering 175* off just 66 balls while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Pune Warriors. His innings included 13 fours and 17 sixes, with an astounding strike rate of 265.15, making it the highest individual score in T20 cricket. This innings remains an iconic moment in the history of T20 cricket, as Gayleâs sheer dominance with the bat and his effortless six-hitting entertained millions.
2. Aaron Finch
Another epic knock that comes close to Gayleâs record is Aaron Finchâs 172 against Zimbabwe in Harare on July 3, 2018. Finchâs innings, featuring 16 fours and 10 sixes, showcased the Australian openerâs aggressive yet calculated approach. His strike rate of 226.31 during the T20I match remains one of the finest performances in international cricket.
3. Hamilton Masakadza
Hamilton Masakadza produced an exceptional 162* off 71 balls for the Mountaineers against the Eagles on February 11, 2016, in Bulawayo. This incredible knock, decorated with 14 fours and 11 sixes, came with a strike rate of 228.16. Masakadzaâs performance exemplified his ability to play long and destructive innings in domestic T20 cricket.
4. Hazratullah Zazai
Afghanistanâs Hazratullah Zazai stunned the cricketing world with an electrifying 162* against Ireland on February 23, 2019, in Dehradun. His knock, laced with 11 fours and 16 sixes, came at a strike rate of 261.29, showcasing his fearless and powerful batting approach. This T20I innings became one of the highlights of his career and reinforced Afghanistanâs growing reputation in international cricket.
5. Dewald Brevis
Young South African sensation Dewald Brevis put on a batting masterclass with 162 off just 57 balls for the Titans against the Knights in Potchefstroom on October 31, 2022. Brevis smashed 13 fours and 13 sixes at a strike rate of 284.21, demonstrating his immense talent and ability to clear the ropes with ease. Indiaâs No. 3 roulette will be eliminated by Harmanpreet during the T20 World Cup.
Indiaâs third-ranked playerâs âmysteryâ has been revealed. Harmanpreet Kaur appears to be the piece of the puzzle that head coach Amol Muzumdar. Who had been quiet about, is now expected to solve.
âYes, without a doubt. at addition to the warm-up matches. We had already made our decisions at the camps back in India before we left for the World Cup, Muzumdar stated prior to Indiaâs opening match of the competition on Friday against New Zealand. âOur camp in Bangalore was quite enjoyable. That was where we had made our decision. These World Cup qualifying matches clearly demonstrated that to us.
You are able to guess it. You will locate it if you look through the scorecards. Itâs a role that has had several occupants lately. It was also born out of necessity, mostly as a result of Yastika Bhatiaâs injury sustained during the Bangladesh tour in April. Which made her appear to be the front-runner.
Since then, Yastika has recovered from a knee injury and is playing for the UAE team. However, it looks like she will have to wait for her chances. Harmanpreet batted at No.3 in both of Indiaâs warm-ups, with scores of 10 and 1. However, it appears that in the grand scheme of things, that was unimportant.
Harmanpreet Kaur
Giving Harmanpreet the best opportunity to maximize her power game once.
It appears that the decision was made with some thought. Harmanpreet has mostly found herself playing catch up at the position she normally bats at, at four or five. Her strike rate of 94.09 throughout 84 T20 innings since 2022 is telling.
There have been four other people tried there since Muzumdar took charge. The longest-lasting experiment was the one conducted by Dayalan Hemalatha. She scored just 139 runs in seven games. Though, with 41 of those coming in a single inning. The other two who were briefly tried out were Sajeevan Sajana and Uma Chetry.
Join Our Telegram Channel:Â
Although Muzumdar could have resorted to Jemimah Rodrigues in an emergency, Muzumdarâs dexterity against spin makes her an important player at No. 4 or 5. According to the theory, Rodrigues, a touch player, may find it simpler to identify gaps in fields that are spread out.
Despite the limited sample size, Rodrigues hits for 143.81 in 10 innings at No. 5. Which is a significant improvement over his 110.19 at No. 3 over 59 innings. Nevertheless, Rodrigues is aiming to advance to âstriking from ball oneâ as the next phase of her T20 batting development.
WPL given us a good base to find players
Muzumdar emphasized the strength of Indiaâs roster. Not to mention that key backup players had specific roles allocated to them. Like Sajana, who as part of her personal development was sent to Australia for the âAâ tour to âcheck off certain boxes,â which enhanced her status as an X-factor contestant.
It has, in my opinion, been a collaborative effort involving not only the Indian team or contingent but also the NCA, Muzumdar. Weâve been completely in sync with the coaches over there who went on the India a journey to Australia. Weâve been in continual communication. After the tour, we received feedback.
We seem to be formalizing a lot of things, in my opinion. Apart from the Indian contingent as I indicated, the India A [setup] is also very crucial for us. So that we get a lot of guys, and the bench strength is higher. Weâve observed the outcomes.
Several players who have joined the Indian team for this World Cup are alumni of the WPL. Not, of course, damaging the national team of first-class cricketers. But we have a solid foundation to locate players thanks to WPL.
Shreyanka Patil is one of the players whose reputation has improved as a result of the WPL. During Royal Challengers Bengaluruâs championship run earlier this year. The all-around player took the most wickets (4 for 12 in the final, to be exact).
Even though Shreyanka is just 12 T20I matches old. She has already established herself as a crucial death bowler. Who can create angles from around the stumps, much like her fast-bowling teammates. She has demonstrated a tendency to bowl in all phases of the game with her fluctuations in pace.
Another player who has sped her path through the WPL circuit is Radha Yadav. Who found herself in the cold for over a year after the previous tournament in South Africa. As has S Asha, the legspinner. Who debuted in Bangladesh this April and is another RCB discovery.
