The Cycle of Civilization
Showing Defining Characteristics for Each Phase of the Cycle
Michael Haupt
Early Greece was a perfect example of the Cycle of Civilization, as it rose to greatness and then fell.
“The first step in sociological wisdom is to recognize that the major advances in civilization are processes which all but wreck the societies in which they occur.” — Alfred North Whitehead. Photo of the Acropolis in Greece by Constantinos Kollias.
Question: How do we account for the seemingly inexplicable rise in grandiose narcissistic behavior post-2020?
Think of all the little hitlers who’ve made a name for themselves since 2020, with behavior that matches the criteria for narcissistic personality disorder:
Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand
Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX until its bankruptcy in early November 2022
Joe Biden, 46th US President
Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy until February 2021
Tony Fauci, Chief Medical Advisor to the US President
Alberto FernĂĄndez, President of Argentina
Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of the UK until September 2022
Sebastian Kurz, Chancellor of Austria until October 2021
Emmanuel Macron, President of France
Sanna Marin, Prime Minister of Finland
Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany until December 2021
Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Australia until May 2022
Carlos Alvarado Quesada, President of Costa Rica until May 2022
Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands
Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economi Forum
Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada
Liz Truss, Prime Minister of the UK since September 2022
Mass Formation
One explanation is Mattias Desmet’s mass formation. In his book, The Psychology of Totalitarianism, Desmet explains how noticeably irrational and extreme societal behaviors can occur when members of society become decoupled from each other and experience a free-floating anxiety that things don’t make sense.
“Mass formation is in essence, a kind of group hypnosis that destroys individuals ethical self-awareness and robs them of their ability to think critically. This process is insidious in nature. Populations fall prey to it unsuspectingly.” — Mattias Desmet
According to Desmet, it is when society enters this kind of group hypnosis that it becomes easy for an individual — or group of individuals — to focus society’s attention, using narcissistic tactics. That is because the citizens under the collective spell believe anything said to them by the narcissist, even though there is credible and proven data to prove the narcissist is not correct.
The Cycle of Civilization
Another explanation, though, is that cultures and civilizations go through cycles. There are very specific behaviors that emerge en masse for each phase in this cycle. Each phase has its own defining characteristics. By looking at the predominant behaviors, we can relatively easily identify the phase our civilization is in.
As each civilization reaches relative maturity, behaviors like hubris, self-interest and elitism become more and more evident. It is at this point — according to the mountains of literature — that narcissistic leaders emerge and the collapse of the society is imminent.
“Frivolity, aestheticism, hedonism, cynicism, pessimism, narcissism, consumerism, materialism, nihilism, fatalism, fanaticism, and other negative attributes, attitudes, and behaviors suffuse the population… Rotten to the core, the society awaits collapse, with only the date remaining to be determined.” — William Ophuls, Immoderate Greatness (2012)
Cycle of Civilization Literature
Spengler, in his book The Decline of the West (1918), argued that all cultures are subject to the same cycle of growth and decay.
Toynbee in his Study of History (1934), described the existence of civilizations in a life cycle of four stages: genesis, growth, breakdown, and disintegration.
Sorokin argued in Social and Cultural Dynamics (1937) that civilizations cycled through three cultural mentalities: ideational (spiritual needs), sensate (“wine, women, and song”), and idealistic (a balance of needs and ends).
Quigley offered, in The Evolution of Civilizations (1961), seven stages of a civilization’s change: mixture, gestation, expansion, age of conflict, universal empire, decay, and invasion.
Melko, in his book The Nature of Civilizations (1969), provides a model of a civilization cycle’s stages including crystallization, transition (T), complete disintegration (D), and ossification (freezing at a crystallized stage) (O).
There are many more examples from historical literature, but you get the idea: civilizations rise and fall through fairly predictable cycles. Each of the authors who dedicated their lives to a study of one aspect of the cycle of civilization developed a model. Each model simplifies reality. When we consider such a complex reality as the history and cycle of civilizations, models become more useful in understanding where we are today.
Defining Characteristics of each Phase of The Cycle of Civilization
From a detailed study of much of the collapse literature, we realised that there are two things missing:
A celebration of the cyclical nature of the process, with an emphasis on the inevitable emergence of the ‘next’ civilization, and
The defining characteristics for each phase. These characteristics, once identified, make it easy for citizens to know which phase their country currently finds itself in.
We have gone through many of the models of the Cycle of Civilization to produce an infographic flow chart, which you can download here (or see below). We’ve updated the names of each phase to more closely match today’s ‘zeitgeist.’ Feel free to refer to this chart when the next bit of weirdness happens in your country. Even better, share it with friends who might be struggling to make sense of current events.
Here are the 7 Phases of the Cycle of Civilization. Where there are additional names in brackets, these refer to John Glubb’s 1977 book, The Fate of Empires and Search for Survival. You can find references to all sources here.
The key insight is your own perspective during the overlapping phases of Phase 0 (Emergence) and Phase 7 (Collapse). The two events occur simultaneously, which leads to wide-scale confusion: some view this phase as calamitous and others view it as the birth of something profound. Your personal perspective will determine how you respond to unfolding events.
Phase 0/7 — Emergence of the New; Collapse of the Old: Civil society starts organizing in new ways; new forms of governance emerge.
Defining characteristics: contrarian thinking, courage, hope, determination, perseverance.
Phase 1 — Stability: Egalitarian; ecological and economic harmony and equilibrium. Extraordinary eloquence, rhetoric and reasoning skills.
Defining characteristics: vigor and virtue.
Phase 2 — Early Growth (Age of Pioneers or Conquests): Division of labor. Resource allocation & governance systems are built.
Defining characteristics: optimism, confidence, shared purpose, high moral code.
Phase 3 — Prosperity (Age of Commerce): Relatively long period of peace & prosperity.
Defining characteristics: unity, pride, patriotism and devotion to duty, self-confident.
Phase 4 — Overshoot (Age of Affluence): Conspicuous overuse of resources. Debt and socio-economic inequalities increase.
Defining characteristics: Greed, selfishness, complacency, arrogance, self-righteousness.
Phase 5 — Hubris (Age of Intellect): Power concentrated in the hands of a few hubristic individuals who “know best.” Standard of living plummets.
Defining characteristics: Decadence, decay, narcissism, elitism, self-interest, all talk no action.
Phase 6 — Totalitarianism (Age of Decadence): Dictatorial government & leaders, censorship & propaganda, civil uprisings.
Defining characteristics: cynicism, pessimism, fatalism, fanaticism. “Rotten to the core, the society awaits collapse, with only the date remaining to be determined.” — William Ophuls, Immoderate Greatness
Phase 7/0 — Collapse of the Old; Emergence of the New: Civil society starts organizing in new ways; new forms of governance emerge.
Defining characteristics: contrarian thinking, courage, hope, determination, perseverance.

Exercises that involve deep breathing can trigger the body’s relaxation response, which lowers tension and anxiety. Methods like diaphragmatic breathing, which involves taking deep breaths into your abdomen, can assist in reducing anxiety and calming the nervous system.
6. Challenge Negative Thoughts
Negative thought patterns are frequently the source of anxiety.People can replace these negative thoughts with more realistic and upbeat ones by identifying and challenging these thoughts with the aid of cognitive-behavioral techniques. This procedure can lessen anxiety and encourage a more realistic view of life.
7. Build a Support Network
In times of anxiety, having a solid network of friends, family, or support groups can offer both practical and emotional support. Talking to other people about your emotions and experiences can help you feel less alone and offer insightful viewpoints.
8. Limit Alcohol and Substance Use
While drugs and alcohol can reduce anxiety momentarily, they frequently make it worse over time. Reducing or quitting alcohol and other drugs can help with anxiety symptoms and mental clarity.
9. Establish a Routine
Anxious people may find solace in the sense of stability and predictability that a regular daily schedule can offer. Establishing regular schedules for work, meals, exercise, and leisure can help reduce anxiety and enhance general wellbeing.
10. Seek Professional Help
It is imperative that you seek professional help if your anxiety becomes overwhelming. Counselors, hypnotists, and therapists can offer specialized care and techniques for efficient anxiety management. 10 months on - A break down.
30/11/2020
After watching a video where a girl who is 4 months on from heartbreak explains what she did to heal, I have become inspired to tell my story with the full overview I have now, to tell my story, the events, the emotions and the healing process so that someone else might find this and know things get better, and so future me can look back on this and remember how strong I am when I need to be.
Feb- March 2020. The first month.
During this time, I could not stop crying. I hardly ate, I didn’t sleep and the only thing keeping me going was knowing I had to support my mother after my granddad had been diagnosed terminal. In this month not only was I going through my first heartbreak, but also going through the process of doctors and hospital appointments with my family, moving my granddad closer to our home and being an emotional support for my mother.
I remember the first night I tried to sleep in her bed with her, knowing I couldn’t even look at how empty my room now looked without his things in it. It got to the early hours of the morning when I decided to instead sleep downstairs.
Sleep became a thing of the past during this month. My mind was racing, wanting my side of the story to be heard. Wanting to see if he would come back, feeling afraid to be alone, believing my strength came from him. And when I did sleep, I had nightmares every single night, and this lasted until April. My mind would relive the break up, come up with scenarios of who I thought was the love of my life and the girl he left me for. Its fair to say, it was horrendous.
The main self help I did this month was focusing on my granddad and my mum and I changed my bedroom around and put on an old duvet cover I used to use before I met him. This really made my room feel like mine again and helped massively when it came to making a new space I felt comfortable in.
And the main thing I did, was I relied in the universe, a god, a bigger force and being out of my control. I focused on the idea that this world had a plan for me and being with him wasn’t apart of it. I listened to spiritual and Christian music and really fell back on the only thing I had left to believe in.
March - April 2020
In this time I really came through for myself. In this time, I talked and talked and talked about what happened to whoever would listen, even on social media. Some people told me to be careful how much I share online and some things should be kept to myself but now, I think that is bad advice. It was the constant talking about what happened to me and how I felt that started the ball rolling for recovery. It was in this time I realised this wasn’t your average break up and it was actually very traumatic.
I began research into heartbreak, what heals a broken heart, what it is and why I was feeling what I was feeling. It was these ted talks and blog posts that lead me to the article about narcissists and most importantly covert ones. This is when everything made sense to me as my relationship was sprawled out in front of me and this person who didn’t even know me began describing exactly how my ex behaved towards me and others. It was then I knew I should probably look into some counselling.
So that is what I did. In this month I began a 6 weeks counselling course and would use sleep hypnosis to help me sleep at night. I would allow myself to cry if I felt I needed to cry, I would write when my mind was racing. And most importantly I deleted my social media to prevent myself from trying to look at his profiles and see how well he was doing without me, because it was only hurting me.
I spent a weekend out of Weston with  my brother  and avoided everything and anything Australian.
I will admit, I felt extreme anxiety through this time. I was afraid to see him again and wanted to stay in my avoidance bubble. I avoided the sea front as I knew that is where he worked and most likely lived. I avoided all shops near the sea front and would have a panic attack anytime someone said his name and went into town.  I told the friends left to not mention him to me, I didn’t want to know about his life, and I got rid of the people who never were my friends to begin with.
May- 2020
This is when everything I was doing began to give me a result. My nightmares began to stop, I wouldn’t be upset all the time. I started enjoying life on my own. I began to like sleeping on my own, eating what I wanted, watching what I wanted and was able to breath again without the constant worry of being cheated on.
I met Bobby in person during May and began our very very slow process of being together. This I highly recommend. After a relationship ending the way mine did, I did not want a rebound nor do I think they ever work. I told Bobby what happened to me, the trust issues I am working through and that I would like to build a friendship first. So that is what we did. We went for long walks, days out to the beach and played games together often. We didn’t even kiss until 3 months after knowing each other and didn’t call it official until a month after that.
The counselling came to an end, and I stopped listening to sleep hypnosis. I began enjoying life again. Exploring so much of the UK this summer then ever before, meeting new people and become strong within myself.
And yes, I still had moments where I felt upset, however, not so much about him, but the fairy-tale story I thought I was living. And even now, I think of him sometimes. I’m still healing. And I don’t get mad at myself if his name crosses my mind because I know this is not a quick fix.
But I am hopeful.
Now the avoidance I once did is gone. I will happily talk about Australia and the amazing time i had there. I am able to watch my fave show Bondi Rescue and don’t flinch if I hear his name or when mail for him comes through the door.
And That gives me so much relief.

A big note on self love
For the last six months, I’ve been travelling to Australia to work on myself.  When I booked the flight, I had just quit my job. It wasn’t just the job itself that I hated, it was the entire industry I was in. Marketing felt unethical, capitalistic and very empty. It’s total bullshit. When I booked the flight, I never really felt at home in my apartment. On my own, above a fucking bar, in a big city. When I booked the flight, I just turned 24 and I still hadn’t been kissed, which caused a lot of self-hate and doubt. I expected to get my first kiss when I was 14, not ten years later. And to top it all off: when I booked the flight, I just turned 24, and I wasn’t able to celebrate my birthday because I didn’t have any friends anymore to invite.
All those pillars that usually build your life (work, friends, love life, hobbies, a home); I saw them all crumbling down. All at the same time, right before my eyes. I got very depressed and I cried every day. It felt like the ticket to Australia was the only light at the end of the tunnel.
During my travels, I had a lot of time to think about those pillars. What was it that needed to change? What were the aspects that I did like about my job? What did I miss in my apartment? How could I possibly make new friends?
Yesterday, I got back home. I feel like I found a sense of direction for most of those pillars. But I realized that the biggest thing that needs to change is me. When I talked about myself to other people, I noticed how insecure and negative my words were. I used to hate it when people preached about self love, and to some extent, I still do. It’s great that you love yourself, but don’t shove it down my troat. However, I learned that self love is not the same as narcissism. And I sure as hell could use some of it.
Below are some personal insights, some of which might help you too.
SOME PERSONAL INSIGHTS
Job
When it comes to my job, I think I might want to become a jeweller. Because the more I thought about it, the more sense it seemed to make.
- First of all: making jewellery is very creative, and that’s what I really want to do with my life. To work with my hands and create something new and beautiful and luxurious. - Jewellery can be very meaningful. I would love to make the rings for your wedding, design a personal necklace or fix your beloved grandfathers watch.  - It’s sustainable, especially when you compare it to cheap fashion or technology. People don’t throw away their silver and gold.  - Jewellery is gonna stay, especially if the rich keep getting richer. Also, people will never ever buy their wedding rings at H&M. So hopefully I won’t have to worry about the robots taking over.  - I can be my own boss and not have to deal with managers, consultants or stupid ass meetings anymore to not talk about stuff I don’t care about. - Yes, becoming a jeweller is way below my intelligence and education. Try to get over it.
Home
- I need roommates. I hated the quiet house and lack of contact with my neighbours.  - I need to live somewhere close to nature. I want to be able to walk in the park, go to the beach or cycle in a forest. - Speaking of which, I want flowers in my house. - And music. I always forget to turn on the radio.
Friends + Love Life
These are the ones I found to be most difficult. Even in Australia, where you meet new backpackers every single day, it’s hard to find friends that will actually stick around. But I do have some ideas:
-  Find a teamsport. Yoga was all fun and games but there were not a lot of bonding or common goals involved.  - Same with hobbies.  - Make a habit of sharing your food. Free cupcakes every Monday morning or something. Everybody loves food. - Literally ask for it. If you have a single friend who is very social, ask him/her if he/she knows anyone else that might fit you.  - Go to places where you can easily meet new people. Book a few days in a hostel for no good reason. Look for activities and festivals in your area. Be open when doing so. - Anyone is a possible friend. Don’t write people off too soon.  - Superficial relationship are relationships too. Small talk is talk too.  - What is it that you like about your friends? Is it their intelligence, their humour, their care, their selfconfidance? You might want to look for that in new relationships too.
Self love
- You may not even believe in it, but count your good karma. Is it simply very fortunate that the sun shines on your birthday, or did you do something to deserve it?  It helps you to count your blessings and take some credit for it too. - Your brain loves change. Redecorate your room, visit a new city and look for anything that stimulates your brain, like a museum or street art. Break your patterns: eat something different for breakfast or take another route to work. New stuff makes your brain very happy.  - Search for transcendentic experiences. Look at the stars and feel small. Watch the sunset and feel connected to the universe. See a skeleton of a dinosaur and ponder how old the Earth is. Think about that time when you were in a limestone cave/cathedral and they played an acapella version of Hallelujah in the dark and for a full second you believed God existed. If it makes you quiet, it’s probably working.  - Take self love seriously. Look for blogs, videos, apps and write about it. If you want to change, it really starts with your mindset and beliefs. If you don’t believe in it, it won’t work. - After that: practice, practice, practice. If you want to be more social, try to speak up every now and then. If you want to be more cuddly, try to touch people a bit more often. Practice makes perfect.  - Meditate and use self hypnosis. Again, if you don’t believe it’ll work, it sure as hell won’t. All hail the placebo effect.  - Write down what’s awesome about you. Writing about self love is not narcisissm. It’s about making your thoughts more graspable.  - Be creative. Put your feelings into a piece of art and look for inspiration, like visiting a museum or looking at street art.  - Last but not least the cliché stuff: turn on music, wander around nature, find a new hobby, blah blah blah.

Everything I had gotten up to this point has been pretty self indulgent already, I think that's been obvious from the start. But now we are getting to the point where I REALLY started to become self indulgent because this pic was the debut of my blatant self insert Michael! A sona that originally I thought of using as a joke even writing a fan fic that was never really made to be taken seriously. But then after I got a few more pics with them I genuinely wanted to actually be serious about using them and fleshing them out and now they are one of my most used OC's for pics. By the way, that fic isn't cannon! Again, I wrote that as a joke at first and the only part's I'd really consider cannon are the whole "finding a portal to other worlds opening in his own back yard" and the last part about Animal Crossing New Horizans. And what better way to debut them with a pic of them dressed in a Plugsuit. Or at least, this is an updated version of that pic. This isn't something that I asked Emilio to redo for me, this is something he did of his own volition a year after the original pic as a gift for me and it's quite a glow up if you ask me!
The original pic if your curious.
Tumblr media
Original description: Another year, another pic involving Rei’s black Plug suit. It’s like the Olympics every four years but in this case it’s one year, it’s a pic and not an event and it’s not being cancelled because of Corona Virus. Yeah I know, my attempts at humour are NOT the greatest. But hey, my humour’s not why you watch me… Is it? No, it’s the art. And this time we got emilio6 to thank for this drawing, the second time I’ve commissioned him this year. The first thing he did for me was that Milotic suit pic.
“Who is this handsome man in this sexy suit?” you may be asking yourself. Well I’m glad you asked if you did because ladies and gentlemen I present to you… Me. Not a new OC that looks like me. Not a new OC that’s meant to be a representation of me although I guess you could technically count it as such since it is a drawing of me, just plain old me wearing an outfit from a character I know nothing about from an anime I STILL have yet to see. Why have I decided to commission something involving my actual self? Well there is a couple of reasons that factor into that. Most of the fetishes I commission people to draw art of, be it hypnosis, coiling or suiting are ones I want to practice in real life but can’t. That alone has its own factors as to why I can’t ranging from my preferred methods of hypnotism being purely fantasy and even the IRL methods of hypnosis don’t work on me. And I’ve tried self-hypnosis two. Apparently, it’s impossible for autistic people to be hypnotised anyway but I don’t remember where I heard this from so it could be bull shit for all I know just like a lot of things on the internet. Like that theory that Super Mario 64 is a free masonic initiation. Where do people come up with this shit? But since this is a pic of me in Rei’s Plugsuit I’ll move onto that topic.
1.I don’t live by myself. While I’m sure the people I live with wouldn’t actually care if they found out what I was into, in fact they would probably be okay with it since they are quite open minded people, it’s not something I feel comfortable with coming out to them about.
2.Cosplay, especially latex cosplay, can be expensive! The prices for some suits alone can be well in the hundreds and considering I live in Australia there’s this little thing you may have heard of called Exchange Rates. Since the value of Australian money isn’t the same as American for example, I may end up paying more for something than what the recipient is actually getting. This is also why I am a little hesitant to commission the more expensive artists out there as much as I would like to. For the record I know you can get some cosplay of these suits pretty cheap for different materials, in fact I once saw one going for $30 but part of me would rather the more shiny and more accurate version of the suit. And also, ya know, issue 1 I brought up. If it wasn’t for that I actually would save up for a plugsuit.
3.Let’s say I wanted to go the extra mile and wanted to be Rei. Obviously I couldn’t because I’m a guy but I could get a Rei Kigu and body suit. You know, those anime masks that people are somehow creeped out by for some reason I will never understand. Those can be just as expensive hell even more expensive if you want a custom one. Would you believe me if I told you I kind wanted a Kigu of my OC Mikaela?
With all that put into perspective I think you can understand now why I commissioned my actual self in this pic. Honestly though, I do not regret it. I’m happy that I commissioned emilio6
to draw this and it did come out amazing. The suit itself looks nice, I mean it’s hard for either or Rei’s plugsuits to NOT look nice and also, I look nice as well. Even going the extra mile and adding in the helmet for me as well. Also, and maybe this is a result of me just playing the Batman Arkham games and Watch_Dogs 2 recently but this honestly feels like something I would want to wear if I had to sneak into somewhere. Take a guess which of the alternate Batsuits I used the most in Arkham City. I’d be lying if I said this was going to be the one and only time I ever commission myself in a pic. Hell, it’s not going to be the only pic I have of myself in fetish wear. Next time I com something like this chances are high it’s going to be a Zero Suit of hell maybe even a Totally Spies suit. Some may look as this and think “Wouldn’t it be more fitting for you to be wearing Mari’s Plugsuit because you both wear glasses?” And to be honest, you wouldn’t be wrong. I didn’t even think about that until I wrote this description. To be honest I just like Rei’s suit design more and you can’t really blame me for thinking that either. I actually like all the Plugsuits in general but my favourite will still be Rei’s for a long time. I’m aware that Rei’s plug suit and every other suit I just mentioned before are made for females but I mean come on, if artists can draw men in Zero Suit who’s to say plug suits made for female characters can’t be worn by males? Besides, apparently there’s a moment in the anime where Shinji puts on Asuka’s plugsuit, the honest to god best part about Asuka! Seriously though people, why do you all like Tsunderes so much?

My Daughter Upstairs
Morning of November 23, 2018. Friday.
        Dream #: 18,967-04. Reading time: 2 min 52 sec. Readability score: 59.
Tumblr media
King Street boarding house in La Crosse in late morning. (Irrelevant to waking life since 1990). I may have descended the imaginary staircase (though I do not have the memory of it) to sustain and vivify my dream.
I am at the bottom of the staircase from the second floor, where there is the fictitious feature of an L-shaped foyer where I remain until my dream ends. My landlady comes in from her kitchen and tells me to mop the floor in this area. The mop bucket is to my left. The mop is next to it.
I do not use any water. I guide the mop over the floor and soon see a C-shaped clump of dust that it gathers and consider if I should tell the landlady that I should sweep the floor first. Soon, I see several Kinder Surprise toys on the floor, one of them a small penguin figure. I move the mop, and they are all in a small cluster.
I hear my youngest daughter talking from upstairs, though I do not discern what she is saying. My landlady comes in (again from her kitchen) and asks me if my daughter has eaten yet. I am uncertain but tell her that she may have gotten something on her own. I inform her that I will be taking my daughter "to the north side" (meaning Northside La Crosse, to the Loomis Street house).
She seems concerned that my daughter is on her own upstairs and mentions something about having heard of a boy on a CD, who recently died. (This is possibly my infra-self distorting "TV" to prevent a literal waking life translation, as the unconscious mind is not viably accessible in the dream state, contrary to popular misconception.)
My dream starts decoding itself a moment before waking. None of our children have ever lived in America, let alone Northside La Crosse (or the King Street mansion on the south side of town either). I do not use the mop bucket, because I subliminally recall that water represents melatonin and potential dream state reinduction (and mopping or cleaning being an inherited biological thread of the glymphatic system, when fluid increases in cells while sleeping). (Because of this, water in the nexus, other than when I am entering or anticipating a return to sleep, never occurs. Despite the presence of the mop bucket and thinking it might be full of water, I never actually look into it and use the mop in its dry condition. Why? Because I am subliminally aware of being in the dream state - non-lucid - and my daughter might need me as perceived by RAS - even though Zsuzsanna is also awake, thus I do not seek to reinduce my sleep cycle.)
For many years (even in childhood), I have been trying to determine if there is any consistent cause as to which threads of the current conscious self survive the demolition past the nexus and the transpersonal interconsciousness into non-lucid dream space. The infra-self is focused on the transition through the sleeping, dreaming, and waking space, not real life or from the viewpoint of the conscious self identity as in waking life, which ceases to exist in non-lucid dream space (one of many reasons I wholly dismiss "dream interpretation" in the typical use of the term).
My youngest daughter is the sole liminal presence here based on something presently real in my life (though my dream self has no memory of my current address or that we live in Australia even in otherwise having recognition of my daughter). The reason is that she was awake and talking in reality at the time (in the lounge room) and it filtered through the nexus, the only thread that reached my infra-self.
The staircase leads down into the (fictitious) L-shaped foyer. A foyer or porch is often a concurrent "bridge" within the nexus in all modes of dream manifestation (subliminal, liminal, and lucid) and RAS (reticular activating system) processes. It is used the same way in hypnosis and meditation. However, a staircase is not just about initiating consciousness in the waking process (or using it to vivify a dream when descending one). It is also about breaking the imaginary physicality of liminal space and becoming aware of the physical body (vestibular system correlation).

Clinical hypnotherapy has emerged as one of the best healing modalities in recent times. It has become highly popular in the US, UK and Australia and slowly becoming popular in other parts of the world because of its ability to solve psychic problems faster than any other modalities. Clinical hypnotherapy is completely safe, psychological tool which is used effectively for healing purpose.
 What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a technique to achieve focused attention or awareness for accessing the subconscious or unconscious mind of a person. In the hypnotic state, the conscious mind is fully awake and aware of what is going on.
What is subconscious or unconscious mind?
Subconscious mind is that part of our mind that does the behind the scenes thinking. It controls all of the autonomic processes that we don’t have to think about – the heart rate, the blood pressure, tissue growth, cell regeneration, the immune system and so on.  It’s where our thoughts, memories and accumulated experience reside. It controls our emotions, our habits and our responses to the world.
Through hypnosis, a hypnotherapist creates a path that allows access to the subconscious mind. It can create changes in the behavior by changing the “knowns” of a person. It can replace pain with pleasure. It can dig out to the deepest root of a person’s emotional, physical or psychological problems.
 Talking to subconscious mind
Using clinical hypnotherapy a trained therapist can talk to the subconscious mind for resolving any issue in the client’s life. Sometimes therapist can take help from the subconscious mind for resolving issues with foreign entity in client’s life. Remember, our subconscious mind is the most powerful weapon available to us for resolving any conflict in our life. It’s just that most people are unaware of their own subconscious power.
 Benefits of Clinical Hypnotherapy
There are many benefits of clinical hypnotherapy – controlling anxiety, treating depression, improving self-confidence, stop smoking, improving concentration and memory, insomnia, controlling mood swings, improving study habits, relieving stress, pain to name a few.
 Will you lose control?
Nobody can lose their control during hypnotherapy because your conscious mind is awake and in observer mode. Remember, hypnosis is nothing but a state of deep relaxation.
Clinical hypnotherapy has been used by many people to transform their lives. It is through clinical hypnotherapy that we can access our own powerful subconscious mind to bring about necessary changes in our life.

Home Remedies For Common Ailments
It is also important to drink water before, during and after working out to avoid dehydration. Liquor responds with the medication and irritates typical working of the body. Australia is one of the nations where the medication is exceptionally created. Numerous men utilize this medication. It is normal for children, and adults, to be less physically active in the evening and weekends, as many activities revolve around a home PC or television. It has been found that Sildenafil, the active ingredient in medications like Generic Viagra and Kamagra can help with the Jet Lag condition. These barriers can stop you in your tracks unless your underlying motivation for changing your body is greater. With at least 84 sleep disorders, it is important to stay in tune to your body and talk to a doctor if you think you are suffering from anything from irregular sleep patterns, and snoring, to nightmares and sleepwalking. Stay away from the temptation of lighting up. Aromatic herbs such as rosemary, thyme, ginger, horse radish, canada pharmacy online and cayenne may help one feel better. You're one of a very small minority. By definition a HEPA air purifier will eliminate 99.97% of airborne pollutants as small as .3 microns. Mary's best solution might be to work at another company, which will appreciate her skills and work ethic - or work for herself. Finally, self hypnosis for weight loss can be made to work through instructing the mind to think positively. It can be done, though, and it can be done naturally without substituting other harmful ingredients that can further jeopardize one's health. Safety of the patients is our foremost objective; therefore we make sure that medicines comply with the rigid health standards of the country. Keep the type large (no more than five lines per slide, less is better), use a font that is easy to read and make sure there is plenty of contrast between the type and the background. Many people complain vigorously about weighing ten or twenty pounds more than they would like. The subconscious mind should comply with the suggestions of hypnosis like they were strict orders. Plus, you won't be starving yourself like you usually do when you diet. These foods are all acceptable and can add variety to your diet. Drink glasses of water whenever you can and then some in between. For example, if you are allergic to ragweed; eating eggs can exacerbate the problem. Since unconsciousness and sleep has nothing to do with hypnosis, a person can be guided into hypnosis without he being aware of it. In indirect or disguised technique the words hypnosis, sleep or relax are not used. The Internet holds a lot of promise when it comes to finding the right quit smoking hypnosis cd as it has a wider variety and many good cds are readily available at competitive prices. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle involves eating the right foods. Here are some suggestions that may help in the early stages of your switch to a vegetarian lifestyle. It is an essential part of any healthy lifestyle. Many dieters and exercisers don't know how much the subconscious mind needs to be exercised and nourished in order to modify behavior. Tree (spring), grass (summer), and weed (fall) pollens are in the air for much of the year, and are nearly impossible to limit to the outdoors. Traditional hypnotherapists often use post-hypnotic suggestions that healthy foods are tastier. As commandments, an "or else" connotation is inferred, but as suggestions for living righteously we are given positive incentives. However you are having your doubts because you do not understand what goes in to determining the proper Kamagra dosage you will receive. Try to hang around with non-smokers, not only will they give you moral support and help you quit smoking, but it's also healthier! But they should also be viewed as providential tutorials for successful living, where God offers good results for those who keep them.
