Somebody Somewhere actor and veteran comedian Murray Hill is set to host a drag king reality competition series, The King of Drag, which will air on the LGBTQ+ streaming service Revry this spring, Variety reports. Tucked into Variety’s announcement was the application to be on the show, for which the deadline is January 5. The King of Drag bills itself as the first drag king competition series. Kings looking to earn a spot on the show’s inaugural cast will have to submit a wealth of material, all of which is outlined on the audition site. Potential cast must submit five photos of their top drag looks, videos of themselves in and out of drag, and a reel of previous drag performances. Finally, auditioning kings are asked to submit a resume of their performance work in drag and film themselves lip-syncing to a song or medley that shows off their “drag essence.” King of Drag, according to the audition site, “will expansively represent drag while promoting inclusion, authentic self-expression, and diverse gender identities including trans masc, cisgender women, non-binary and more.”

I better see queers hyping this up just as much as the hype up drag queen shows!!!

RWRB Thoughts: The Deadline Contender Panel

Quick list of very direct, subjective, random and spontaneous thoughts I had while listening/watching the panel:

I absolutely understand that Taylor probably doesn't remember every detail of the movie off the top of his head, especially with nerves, but Sweetheart really didn't describe the played DNC scene correctly😅

That being said Taylor calling Henry Alex's boyfriend made me SO FUCKING HAPPY???? I was squealing and kicking my legs because of all the feels. On top of that, intentional or not, Taylor takes a breath so it goes "wanted to bring his... boyfriend!" and there's this subtle emphasis on the word, I am screaming

I do question why this scene though? I don't know much about this whole process, but just an educated guess, if we're trying to get an emmy nom via this panel, shouldn't we be showing a scene that's more representative of the movie's core? Like, say the New Year's scene, or Kensington Palace, or the Lake scene. If we have to include the comedy aspect, then show the freaking Red Room. I love this scene of course, but if the purpose is to nominate ourselves and show ourselves then I feel like another scene should have been picked

I'm wondering if there's still recordings of the zoom auditions/chem read. I can also imagine zoom chem read being much harder. Honestly I think zoom auditions only work with monologues.

I talked to @pippin-katz about this but dear God, I have heard the question "What is your favourite scene" being asked to the boys at least three times now, and they always answer the cake scene. Why don't they ever expand on the question, especially since Taylor affed the Kensington scene this time, and why don't they ever ask other questions or ask about specifics? Between me and my friends, we came up with at least 40 questions that could be asked to the boys and haven't been asked yet.

Nick how the fuck did cream stay in/ behind your ear for two days and Taylor how did you spot it

I'm honestly getting really tired of the sequel question, it's always phrased the same way, and of course, the answer is gonna be the same. Even if they knew, they contractually can't tell us, the first announcement of a sequel will have to come from a bigger source like Amazon themselves.

I understand being nervous but this interviewer felt too timid and unsure of herself

Overall still very enjoyable, always more than happy to hear Taylor speak about his baby that we all love, but the question are so freaking repetitive. I said it clearer in my discussion with Pippin so here's a screenshot of that part

Hello everyone, I would like to announce that auditions for an EPIC: The Musical Fancast are officially open!!

Our auditions are done through Casting Call Club. Currently, we have no deadline. There are a few requirements for auditions, but it's nothing big or crazy! You're free to audition for as many characters as you want since everyone is open, except for Penelope.

This server isn't just for EPIC: The Musical or this fancast however, its also meant for Greek Mythology! You're free to come and talk with people who have a similar interest in it!

congrats on surviving episode two of next gen! updated rankings can be found here. no eliminations were announced in this episode, however the next episode’s performance evaluation will be the first elimination round. participants in the bottom ranks have been warned that they may not survive to the third episode if they do not show marked improvement.

for participating in the auditions and appearing in the second episode of NEXT GEN, all wannabes who submitted their participation may collect points as outlined on this spreadsheet. points were awarded based on the writing requirements submitted and the optional extra threads. no verification is required; you may link back to this post on your spreadsheets.

for the next episode of NEXT GEN, all participants will be divided into three teams, and then those groups split in two for a total of six teams ‘A’ and ‘B’. the teams performing the same song will go head to head with the winning team receiving immunity from elimination while the members of the losing team are at the mercy of the judges to stay in the competition. the teams and their assigned songs can be found below. the teams will all be practicing in designated practice rooms at the AXIS training building. independent practice will be expected of them between lessons and participants are welcome to work together with their teams to rehearse.

coaches are not to inform the creative process but to leave those decisions up to the contestants they’re advising. instead, they should act as mentors and answer questions and provide guidance in shaping the contestants’ visions. coaches will be performing alongside the contestants for this evaluation.

Almost 8 years ago, we had completed and uploaded the first movie Persona 3 Spring of Birth with resounding success! Unfortunately due to copyright, casting and real life issues I was forced to put the project in hiatus till further notice.

Mostly due to copyright anyway...

But recently I reuploaded the first movie without it being taken down and also partly due to the remake of P3 being announced, I was motivated to bringing the project back to life and finishing all 4 movies this time! (If you wish to confirm the legitimacy and standard of quality for the project, the 1st movie can be found here) With that said, here are a few rules to lay out before you audition #1 - Ensure mic quality is of professional quality. Treated sound environment preferable #2 - This is a long term project, please do not audition if you see yourself unable to remain on the project for more than 1 movie. #3 - If you are not cast as the character you auditioned for, that does not mean I won't possibly need your help as extras or other characters I may have forgotten in this post. Any reactions to the casting of David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Superman and Lois Lane for Superman : Legacy ?

They certainly have the looks!

Crazy that people were fancasting Corenswet as Superman all the way back when Cavill was first announced to be dropped from the role, and he actually has gotten the job! Corenswet is Julliard trained just like Chris Reeve was, and also like Reeve, Routh, and Cavill, is basically an unknown. He's done a few TV shows but hasn't starred in a breakout hit yet. Gunn saw something in Chris Pratt when no one else at Marvel did, so if Corenswet is his guy, that's good enough for me. His Jewish heritage might hopefully cause him to emphasize the Jewish DNA that Siegel and Shuster first gave the character. If we must draw on biblical figures, then give me Superman by way of Moses and Samson.

Brosnahan apparently turned in an amazing audition tape per a Deadline reporter, and she's basically been playing Lois for the past couple years as Ms. Maisel from what I understand. No worries about her, Lois is a very well-defined character that you actually have to work to fuck up. Adams' Lois was bad because she was given nothing to do, and her only purpose was to be a womb for Superman and Batman to quarrel over. I don't believe Gunn will make the same mistake. Interesting that McKay didn't get the Lois role but was brought back to screen test with all three of the Superman hopefuls. I had thought that was a sign of Gunn choosing her, but I guess Brosnahan was simply too good to pass up.

Funniest outcome of the news, aside from the Snyder Cult meltdowns which were as expected as they were pathetic, is all the swooning over the height difference between Corenswet (6" 4') and Brosnahan (5" 3'). Apparently a lot of people find that to be quite the turn on! Can only imagine how that will increase once Corenswet gets put through the superhero workout and gets shredded.

Oh and Hoult needs to be cast as Lex. You better believe he can look Corenswet's Superman in the eye and start screaming about how "you're not Superman, I AM" with 100% sincerity. Poor guy has been passed over for both Supes and Bats!

actually having a massive dilemma bc of eurovision this year and its both ethical and personal. basically last year i went "ava you need a hobby" and i was like "goud is my hobby" and then i was like "something else ava" and so as my new years resolution was to get back involved in my drama society at uni. i miss performing so much. they had auditions for their first spot but i literally couldnt audition as there was no role for me and also i was in my hometown that weekend of auditions and had a concert the other night.

anyways they announced auditions for the open spot (which realistically funnily enough is where i'd pitch goud if i were to pitch goud but sometimes i feel i'll never be confident enough in myself to do that bc it is a very personal work to me at its core. also i'd need a co-director and i almost dont trust someone else with directing these characters) and i flipped through the thingy and what do you know? i can make auditions and there is a role for me. unfortunately i looked at the show dates and it happens to be a certain week in may.

with talk on the town of boycotting eurovision because of israel (which i do not support israel being there i always found it odd bc they arent europe and thats big words coming from an australian) and the ebu flipping around until the song deadline on whether or not to ban them, i have found myself less enthusiastic about this year compared to others. i was talking to someone about how israel (or the not finnish blue and white flagged place) basically is the elephant in the room hindering this, but even so, i only have a handful of entries i really put on repeat (netherlands, croatia, finland) from this year. so the whole situation is affecting my excitement for the event, and you'd think this would make it easier but its not. bc it still is my favourite event of the year and while i can participate in everything to do with the season, to do this and then not watch the finale is a waste to me. so now im at a dilemma with what to even do bc i'd love to be on stage again but it comes at a cost, and i'd love to watch eurovision but it also comes at the cost of a certain not finnish blue and white place being there.

so like, i made a list but this is somehow worse. bc like, i feel like i dont win either way.

i won't feel depressed bc eurovision is important to me and boycotting it will probs mean sacrificing a huge part of my mental health
