Red white and royal blue red and Chloe AU? HERE ME OUT.
Queen Bridget of hearts sends her daughter princess red and her advisor, and close friend of Red’s, Maddox Hatter, to the royal wedding of Prince Chad and princess Audrey rose in cinderellasburg. Red has an issue with princess Chloe charming of cinderellasburg and is constantly insisting that she is not 5’4 because Red is 5’5 and she’s convinced she’s more than an inch taller than her. Red drinks a bit too much at the reception and picks a fight with Chloe leading to them to tumble to the floor covered in white frosted wedding cake.
Queen Bridget ships her daughter back over to cinderellasburg to do damage control. She’s sent over with the head of the guard and a file to memorize on Chloe. Once there she is forced into a photo opp in her traveling clothes w Chloe, and later interviews, dressed appropriately this time, where they lie through their teeth the whole time about being close friends. They visited a hospital together and are shoved into a closet by the red guards. While in there they work out why red dislikes Chloe over a meeting at a conference years before. Once out of the closet they realize they can get along and part with a promise to see each other again at Red’s New Year’s party.
Chloe finds her number and they start to text and call all day everyday. Once new years rolls around they are attached at the hip at the party. After the time strikes midnight red follows Chloe outside where she kisses her and runs away leaving behind a confused red.
Red is ghosted by Chloe for 2 months. They see each other again at a queens ball hosted in wonderland celebrating the friendship of queen bridget and queen Ella. Red has Chloe meet her in a room down the hall where they kiss once again and are interrupted by the red guard. They go back to the ball and agree to meet in reds room at midnight. They have a FUN(;D) night and agree to do it again sometime before Chloe leaves, lingering in the doorway. She also invites red to her charity fencing tournament.
They see each other at the tournament and go to auardons capital for a special evening where they are intimate for the first time(THEYRE OBVIOUSLY OLDER IN THIS AU)
But there is a pressing issue in Auradon, some rebels in wonderland have been using the rabbit hole in the Sherwood Forest to cause destruction in lands around the forest. The auradonian kingdoms are voting whether or not to close the rabbit hole or not. Red goes campaigning throughout auradon to convince them against closing the rabbit hole. When she comes to cinderellasburg they are caught by the red guard. Red decides to come out to her mother before the guard does it themselves.
Chloe goes with red and her mother on a trip to their lake house in wonderland and while there red admits she loves Chloe, but Chloe runs away and leaves that night without telling red and not speaking to her after. A week later red shows up at the cinderellasburg castle and won’t leave unless she talks to Chloe. They fight and red says she’ll only leave if Chloe tells her to, Chloe can’t. Chloe brings red to the castle gardens and tells her how she dreamed she could dance with someone there. Red plays so this is love and they dance in the moonlight in the gardens.
When red leaves the next morning Chloe gives her her ring she wears on her pinky and red gives her her necklace with rabbit pendant on it. The next morning Chloe wakes to see her letters and e-mails and everything to red have been leaked. Seen by everyone. She is put into lockdown, having her phone and mail privileges taken.
Red makes a speech on the matter and hopes Chloe had watched it. Maddox uses his phone to call Chloe’s brother, chad, and they talk and red announces she’s going to come to cinderellasburg. When red arrives they hug on the staircase and go to her room and spend some much needed time together.
They are summoned by Chloe’s parents and they talk of whether they want to go publicly officially and when they want to do it. Chad notices a huge crowd waving flags outside the palace and Chloe decides now is the time. They go public together in cinderellasburg that day.
The voting on the wonderland rabbit hole comes out in favor of not closing it and all the characters celebrate. The end.

The Villain was Mal: The century long Did I mention debate.
To this day Audrey and Ben are being pitted against each other in the Did I mention scene when neither of them were at fault.
Ben was the direct victim, he was unable to control his actions and did something he wouldn't even had done had he not been drugged and NOBODY out of all the people who knew him for years found this out of character or stood up for him. They didn't pull him aside afterwards to ask what the hell he was doing or if he was okay, knowing he was pretty much completely unprotected from magic and the VK girly is walking around with a spell book.
Audrey was the indirect victim, she was publicly humiliated by her boyfriend and watched people she was friends with cheer him on and the girl he's doing this with is the daughter of your family's enemy. You were visibly destressed and the same thing with Ben, nobody cares, nobody asks. So you do the only thing you can do to try and save face and find another date. She's got her heartbroken, she'd probably feel more humiliated even trying to ask Ben about it and it doesn't help all of her friends are cheering them on. She at this point doesn't even know what was really going on.
Ben ends up in this borderline abusive relationship where he's afraid to say no to his girlfriend/fiance and everyone including his parents holds her opinion of more value than his as king. Whenever he's being abused by magic, which happens in all three movies nobody (D1-D2) Sticks up for him they either don't care or blame him for actions he had no control over.
Audrey is shunned from Auardon and is blamed by her family for failing to secure the king as if they didn't have a genuine relationship and she doesn't have feelings. She falls into a depression and has fallen behind in school and questions her self worth because all of the people who were her friends or looked at her in awe were now asking "What is she doing here?" for showing up to a birthday party that in any other circumstances she would've been invited. How was she not supposed to tie her self worth in dating Ben when people started treating her like a waste of space when she wasn't with him?
In conclusion, after years we need to realize that this situation was neither of their faults, they had been used and manipulated in a plan that was barely undone because nothing was every clarified between the two. The ending of their relationship was forced onto them and consequently the destruction of any friendship they could've had. I don't want to be like "blame it all on Mal" but if we're going back and forth between blaming Ben and Audrey, then yes we need to blame Mal. She created the direct situation for it to happen, benefited from it entirely, lied about what actually happened (saying she spelled Ben for love) and she herself never tried to make amends or actually explain the situation. Mal spelled him taking away his right of action and she clearly wasn't sorry about what happened to Audrey because she insults her right after the did I mention scene when at this point she doesn't know anything about her. She further in my opinions shows a lack of actual remorse when she continues to try and spell Ben later on and when she gives up on magic gaslights him into doing what she wants (she doesn't take no for an answer.) (That's a whole different conversation but okay Mal, Audrey is the shallow one and Evie is better even though everybody knew Evie was only interested in Chad because he was a prince.)

A Mal x gender neutral reader who loves nature and has their whole room decked out with plants and other stuff while being the child of rapunzel
Nature - MAL
Pairings: Mal x gn! reader
Warnings: Y/N is used but only once!! other than that none. This is pure fluff!
Note: Thank you for requesting!! Please tell me if this is out of character I'm not sure! 💗
Walking out in the Auardon garden. Looking at all the beautiful plants and flowers. It was peaceful, and it always calmed your worries and stress.
You saw Mal as you were walking and smiled at seeing your girlfriend talking to Evie.
Once you looked away from Mal and Evie, you saw a plant shop and decided to go buy a few plants.
After you finished, you walked to your dorm and put all your plants where you thought they would be best.
When you finished putting the plants at the places, you heard a knock at the door. You walked over to the door and saw Mal.
"Hii Mal!" you said, happily excited to see her. "Hi Y/N, are you busy right now?"
"Nope, I'm not busy at all!" You said, "Great because I have a surprise!" She said, grabbing your hand gently while leading you out as you locked and shut your door.
As she led you to a place that is still unknown to you, she asked, "Okay, close your eyes!" You closed your eyes, and she still held your hand, leading you and finally stopping.
"Okay, open your eyes," she said slightly nervous, hoping you would like it. As you opened your eyes, you saw a beautiful waterfall surrounded by all different plants and animals.
You stood there in shock. "It's beautiful." You mummed out. "Yeah, it is..." Mal said quietly, looking at you. As you admire it for a few moments, you look over at Mal, who is still looking at you.
Mal smiled at you and kissed your forehead and grabbed your hand to lead you down to a picnic basket. You sat down as she sat down, hand still in her hand. You looked around some more, looking at all the plants and looking at the animals that passed by.
As you were looking at the plants and animals, Mal was taking out all your favorite foods and snacks.
"This is amazing, Mal. How did you find this?" You asked her, looking at her amazed. "Evie found this place; she said you would love it." She said.
"Well, she was right, this is amazing!" You turned your head quickly, looking at her straight into her eyes. She swore that she could see stars in your eyes.
After looking around for a bit more, you and Mal ate the food. And relaxed in each others arms. You were looking at the animals that passed by. Mal watching you smile at every little animal that passed.
She admired you, and she couldn't ask for anything more.

What do you think of the following au:
(Sorry in advance for asking since this is rather dark).
On the isle, there are no cops. No Cps. Barely--if any-- enough doctors. Barely any supplies.
Because of this, crime and violence run rampant and unchecked.
So the kids, as in canon, have to step up.
The older kids look out for the younger ones the best they can with the help of some of the nicer adults on the isle.
Adults like henchmen, petty criminals, Dr Facilier, Anastasia Tremaine, Lefou, and Smee.
And lots and lots of people die.
Which is where one group of kids known as the Badun Detective Agency step in.
The Badun cousins (Harry and Jace), who have lost many siblings, stepmothers/aunts, pets, and cousins to Cruella while their fathers did nothing.
Hermie Bing who's beloved father-- the ring master-- died when she was young due to gulit and poor mental health leaving her alone.
Eddie Balthazar, who's eldery parents (Aunt Sarah and Edgar Balthazar) are stuck on the isle in poor condition. Who knows what a family is supposed to be like.
Reza who was mistreated horribly by his biological father-- the former royal astronomer of Agrabah-- and barely remembers his bio mother, a harem member, only to be taken in by Sadira and Mozenrath.
And sweet little Yzla who is separated from her father (Cedric) who is off the isle. Who has seen her mother be belittled by her grandmother (Amza) every day of her life as her little brother and older cousins turn darker and darker every day.
Together, they keep track of every horrible injury. Every missing person. Every domestic dispute. Every death. Occasionally getting help from Hades and Hadie.
Why do they do this, you ask?
Why, It's simple.
They do it in case the barrier is ever brought down or in case they ever get access to the internet so that Auardon's heroes can't sweep it-- them-- under the rug forever.
So that they don't forget everyone they left to die and suffer.
So that even if they die, it will leave a stain on the heroes' memories-- mainly Beast-- for what they did to them.
I want them to categorise every single death, I want them to scream the names of the lost children and even the adults into King Beast's and Fairy Godmother's face.
I want for their records to haunt the Auradon adults' dreams.
And I wish them the very best of luck on their way for the life they – they all – should have.
(There is a monument. After the Barrier falls – there is a monument. Maybe it is a giant dome, maybe it's just a simple column reaching towards the skies. Maybe it's a statue of a child with sad eyes, hand clenched over the stone heart. Regardless, letters spill all over it. Words, names. So mamy names of children that shouldn't have been born or should have lived, carved in sharp angles, and big curves above the line. In the handwriting of a child practicing it's first lines. If you look very carefully, you will see why they died and it will haunt your dreams.)

How do you think the aks, vks, and Auardon adults would treat Hannah Hook after Cj kidnapped Ben? What about after Harry did it and Hannah brought her crew to help deal with it against Mal's orders?
They'd be suspicious of her, since her older sister just tried to kidnap the king.
Suspicion would die down, however, after her brother kidnapped the king and Hannah fought against him - her own brother - to rescue him.

And who's saying Auradon also knows the details of the story? They may have been presented with a general idea, but a general idea pales in comparison to the reality of the actual situation.
And it's not as if Chloe isn't supposed to be naive, sheltered, and privileged, so I can imagine her having a hard time comprehending her mom actually growing up terribly despite being told so because she simply just doesn't understand how life can be unfair when her life was always fair.
And not everyone experiences trauma the same. Perhaps Aurora was more comfortable telling her story as the biggest hardship was that she fell asleep, and Philip conquered Maleficent. Belle and Beast have romance they would not ever trade away so of course Ben gets to know more about it too. But Ella's life was so shit I don't blame her for wanting to perhaps leave it in the past, and it's not like as if RoR didn't establish how Ella hardly talks about her past unless something good happened in it like Castlecoming. She didn't tell how the prank went down, just that it happened, so I can believe that at most Ella would be like "My stepmom wasn't nice to me and I was unhappy and she didn't allow me to go to the castlecoming but Fay helped me, I had night of my life and then Charming saved me by sheltering me from my evil stepmom" and never get into specifics what kind of evil she went through to anyone, maybe except Charming.
And I'm sorry, but how do you think people would find out about what happened in Ella's household? I'm pretty sure that all Heroes in Auardon just told each other their own stories hence they are known, but no one said all of them are necessarily reliable narrators.
For the life of me, I can NOT understand how Chloe did not know about her mother's story when pretty much everyone else did. Mal made a point about how Fairy Godmother gave Ella a dress but couldn't help make her own daughter "pretty"(I say this as Jane is already beautiful). Chloe on the other hand was rather taken aback about seeing her mother in rags, and acted totally clueless about where her mom was staying at. Chloe even asked " I can't believe how awful her family was to her." How is it everyone else in the series knew about Cinderella's upbringing then her own flesh and blood? Not to mention Chloe at least knew about where Ella and Charming fell in love, i.e Castlecoming. So why is that the thing Chloe seems to only know of or been told of? Surely someone had to have told her the entire story of her mother becoming queen? It makes sense for Red not to know who Bridget used to be, but it's very farfetched for Chloe to seem completely unaware about the kind of person Ella was.

Apparently jousting class is a thing in Auardon. And Ben and Jordan having been in it since they were 4? Thoughts?
They have?? I mean, I‘m sure Ben did, and Lonnie, and the other princes, but Jordan? That surprises me.

Reasons why the isle has three schools;
There's no birth control on the isle. There for lots of kids.
Villians barely want to be around their own kids, you think they want be around every other villian's little hellions?
They would literally kill at least 10 of the kids if they had to watch all of them in one school at once.

Hey. So I'm having some writer's block when it comes to Mal -- she's not my fav character but I do like her and want to do her the justice that writer's failed to give. So I have some questions;
-The others are mentioned to have pets in the books. What pet do you think Mal had?
-- Do you think Mal has any allergies, if yes, what?
-- what so you think of Mal's wedding dress? Who do you think she would have on her side of the wedding (like bridesmaids wise?)?
-- what games did she play as a child?
-- what was her favorite story as a child/food to eat?
-- what kind of toys would she play with as a child?
-- what kind of dates does she go on with Ben?
-- which of the aks outside of Ben do you think she's closest to?
-- what do she and her friends do for fun in Auardon?
(Sorry that was alot).
thank you for this ask! any excuse to talk about an overrated or overhated fave lulz. gonna hide the answers under a cut cause it'll probably get long! and sorry if any of this goes against anything in the books or whatever bc i dont have them all memorized
~Honestly I could see Mal being the sad lil odd one out with no pet. Maleficent would have her raven and probably wouldn't want any other animals running around the castle. I think she'd be the type to restrict Mal to an exaggerated degree and not let her have anything that might end up being a source of joy or comfort
~I think it would be super funny if Mal was allergic to seafood. Or at least shellfish. Had to be extra careful when handling that bucket of shrimp!
~The dress was... interesting. Not the best but I don't hate it as much as most people seem to. Unpopular opinion but I love the purple. It's Mal's signature color! If it'd been all white it would've been basic and boring and just not felt like her. The animation and the doll doesn't really do it justice but I do like the idea of it!! And for her wedding party, I really only see Evie as the maid of honor. Carlos and Jay could be the men of honor I suppose. And Celia is the flower girl :P
~Ok the only way I see Mal playing games is bcoz Maleficent practically forced the other kids to play with her. Like she would cause trouble for their parents if they didn't. And they had to do whatever Mal wanted to do and she always had to win. But I think as Mal got older and realized what was going on, she'd try to steer away from that. At least with people she actually liked, like Jay. I could see them sneaking off to play by themselves. And mostly just having dumb little contests like arm wrestling, or seeing who could do the most push ups, or stand on their head the longest. Dumb stuff like that
~I think Mal would eat up any story her mother told her. As a really little kid, she'd listen to the stories of Maleficent threatening the kingdom and nearly taking it over and think it was an amazing tale and hate how her mother was done so wrong by the royals. For food to eat... Maleficent would definitely make sure they got first dibs on any food that came over from Auradon. I’m thinking some kind of sweet pastry treat. Something that the boulangerie threw out bcoz it didn’t sell, even though it was perfectly fine. Probably just like the saddest thing to have as a favorite food like a plain bagel or an oatmeal raisin cookie just bcoz that’s all that she can get her hands on. God, this universe is depressing
~Any kind of toy she wanted bcoz if she saw something she wanted, Maleficent would make the other kid hand it over <3 I could see her learning what dolls are bcoz some other Isle dweller kid has a little rag doll that they made for themselves. And so she’s like “I can make that too” but just like goes and ties some sticks together and that’s her doll. Literally just playing with sticks and rocks in the woods by herself </3
~I want to imagine that regular Auradon just operates like Pleasantville where everything is just “ideal” 50s time. They go to the drive in and the malt shop and the roller rink (even though I think that’s a couple decades later idc it still fits). And obviously their go to hiking and swimming dates when they don’t feel like being around a lot of people. I imagine Ben eventually getting Mal in the water and teaching her how to swim. That would be cute!
~Probably Jane. Just bcoz she’s the one Mal first tried to make amends with. And Jane is now comfortable enough around her to basically help Mal plan every big event in her life. I think they’re on good terms. And I like the idea of them being an unlikely duo of friends
~When they’re still adjusting to Auradon life, I would loveee if they all just went around playing petty pranks on the AKs. Fake spiders in Audrey’s locker, putting Nair in Chad’s shampoo, dumb stuff like that. It’s hard to think of something bcoz Mal doesn’t exactly have time for a lot of fun :(
Thank you for this ask!! It was long but I enjoyed every bit of it. And thank you for being patient with me since it took me a while to answer everything!

How I feel about Mal Bertha and her character PART 1
This is not a Mal bertha Biography and it is biased in the sense that I don’t like her at all. Read with caution.
Descendants 2 was actually the first movie of the trilogy that I had watched. My little sister was watching it and I happened to be passing by and sat to watch it with her when it caught my eye. 2017 me had a completely different opinion of Mal bertha than today not because I was younger but simply because D3 hadn’t come out yet and I hadn’t watched the first movie or even knew there was books. I can’t stand Mal bertha, not even the D1 version of her and that’s the one even Mal antis love. I didn’t like her in the first movie but it was more of a “I wouldn’t be friends with her.” I didn’t think that she was unforgiveable and that it was impossible to give her a second chance. She made her own bad choices but she expressed genuine regret for them and was only 16. Despite me, loathing Mal’s existence I related to her in sense that it’s scary wanting to change but you don’t know whether or not your actions have caused too much damage.
In D2 watching it as a stand alone I saw a girl wanting something other than the ‘happily ever after’ and deciding she would go for what would make her happy when she went back to isle. I was desperately hoping that after the ‘It’s going down’ scene that she would go back to the isle and not choose to stay somewhere she wanted to leave. But we know how that went and the ending left me bitter and sad not for her, but for Uma. She began to leave a bitter taste in my mouth when she broke up with Ben and came back and just expected him to get back together with her. I’m going to go around every version of her character.
PRE D1
She was a dick. That’s the simplest way I can put it. I don’t like even acknowledging pre d1 Mal because it leaves me with this very negative view of her character that I don’t think was necessary. I feel like this is a big fuck up, wanting to have Mal be her ‘evilest’ before coming to Auradon. I understand the reason why they wanted to show her growth and change throughout the series. But after looking at some real life scenarios with a similar Mal situation it made me look at it differently. Imagine this: someone who severely bullied you and harassed you and everyone around getting to go to a new place and get the best treatment there, then she’s congratulated with becoming queen of that land and not only that she then decides she’s going to be queen of the place she was bullying and harassing people at without ever properly apologizing. This happens in real life and these people get exposed which is why I don’t like it. It would be different if Mal actual grew throughout the series but it was real just her gaining more power and the scenery changing from Pre D1-D3. She also continued to make the same type of ‘mistakes’ with no actual direct consequences all she had to do was cry and they forgave her. She would be okay if it Descendants was a stand alone movie. But knowing the type of life she would get to live after all of this behavior puts me off from reading it. It would also be different if Mal lived a simple life in Auradon (Aka not trying to take control by dating the king and then stepping all over said king) She got more than what she deserved to have. In my opinion she did deserve the chance at all better life just like all the other kids who didn’t commit any crimes to be locked up. But in the eyes of people she victimized she wouldn’t deserve to be Queen become royalty, live in castles and get gifted with limos and bikes.
D1
D1 is the version of Mal everyone generally likes however, like I stated before I didn’t like her even then. At the start we see someone who is clearly trying to please her mother so if her mother wants bad behavior she gives her that. Throughout the main plot she did things of her own accord that she can’t use her mom as an excuse for. There’s a couple different things but a lot of them had to do with Ben and I’m making a whole post on how Ben was treated like shit throughout the franchise so that will be addressed then and not in this post. However for a reference she drugged him with a spelled cookie into falling in love with her for the wand. He wasn’t even willing to eat the cookie at first but she guilt tripped him into eating it. We could brush this off as her doing whatever she needed to do to get to the crown but to me she took advantage of the situation by actually going on dates with him. He was already spelled and willing to listen to whatever she wanted so besides for her own personal interest why would she go on the dates? (Granted a 16 year old wanting to get cute and have a nice date with a nice boy is not a fault or wrong in any way the fault here is all of this was happening when Ben was not in his right state of mind until the spell washed off.) Her taking advantage of Jane’s insecurities was not cool either and I’m interested in what ways she would’ve tried to use Jane if it was easier to get to the wand through her. Since her main crime in my opinion was Ben and since he’ll have his own essay post I’ll focus on Audrey here.
Her disrespect to Audrey
It was unnecessary, she had no reason to have had Audrey’s name in her mouth as much as she did D1. It would make more sense for Mal to like Audrey’s sassy boldness to me not shit talk her every chance she got. At the start they had a small passive aggressive conversation that could’ve just been left at that because technically they burred the hatchet between the two families. It was a “hey I don’t fuck with you, you don’t fuck with me” type of a situation that could’ve grown civil. However, throughout the movie in comparison to Audrey who really just had a problem with Mal’s mother until she spelled ben then it became direct problems with each other. Mal was continuously talking shit about Audrey as if Audrey was the one who fucked with her family. This time her upbringing can be referenced, on the Isle she most likely was allowed to openly hate things and Audrey was most likely raised to at least pretend to be polite. But from the Audrey we’ve seen she clearly doesn’t care about holding her tongue she’s straightforward with how she feels and she didn’t have a problem with Mal she had a problem with her mother. The only time she talked about Mal directly was about the hair spells which she ended up being right about (Mal’s addictive reliance on magic in D2 and Jane at the end of D1). After completely ignoring Audrey’s feelings and literally stole her boyfriend (not even on the the you can’t steal a loyal man type of shit she literally stole him he wasn’t even allowed to consent to it.) She later in Audrey’s Diary multiple times tries to reason this with she never meant to directly hurt Audrey and that she didn’t really want Ben she just wanted the wand etc etc. The evidence doesn’t back this up Mal, you’ve made your disdain for Audrey clear and talked shit about her to Evie right after you spelled Ben the did I mention bs claiming “Chad will see her horrible personally” as if you knew her personally and that Chad didn’t grow up with her. Mal can say she didn’t mean to hurt Audrey but she clearly didn’t mind that she did.
I’m going to make a whole separate on Audrey and how I do think she gets a lot of slack because people can relate to her, but also how her treatment in comparison to Mal’s is unfair.
I did think she deserved a chance to show remorse for her behavior (spoiler: she didnt) Again, I like to look at things from the pov of other characters for things like this. If I was an Auradon kid who was friends with Mal and ended up finding out she was using me and plotting to take over and destroy the place I lived with/for her mother but changed her mind last minute. I would see her as forgivable I just wouldn’t want her around me. In other words I would expect her to start her own new life, not continue trying to live the one where she was plotting without even actually apologizing to people. AU: After descendants instead of continuing to date Ben she breaks it off and goes to an Art school frequently coming back to visit Auradon and after high school she goes on a quest (with the C4 of course) exploring all kinds of different kingdoms and countries because she was locked up on the isle her whole life. In the future she possibly returns to Auardon and even could get back together with Ben with a proper start.
D2
The first Descendants Movie I ever saw so it holds a special place with me and I actually rooted for Mal the first time I watched it. I sat in to watch at the argument scene and knowing all of the plots now and after rewatching it my opinion has change greatly. We see a blonde and very stressed Mal who’s dealing with the pressures of becoming a royal in order to secure her place with Ben. I do feel bad for Mal when she was talking to Evie, she was trying to reach out to her friend about her situation and was basically told to stop talking about it. I understand Evie’s feelings of wanting to leave the past behind but I can also understand Mal feeling like she’s cornered and can’t even talk to her best friend. I can also understand her feelings of ending up overwhelmed with her decisions from going to somebody who did whatever whenever to becoming a royal with duties I get the pressure. If Mal decided that wasn’t the life she wanted to live and went back to the isle where she felt more comfortable I don’t see anything wrong with that. She wasn’t required to stay in Auradon if she felt like she was unhappy there. That says a little something about Auradon to me if somebody would rather live where they ate rotten food than live there. My sympathy for Mal stops there because everything else was a result of her own actions and things she brought onto herself.
1. The royal situation
Let’s get one thing clear nobody was forcing Mal to hand sign up for the prime and proper royal life. She did that herself.
Nobody told her that she had to dye her hair blonde and have a complete wardrobe change, she did.
Nobody said she even had to continue the terrible relationship she had with Ben and go straight into being a royal in order to basically become Ben’s wifey, she did.
She’s saying all of these people are expecting things of her when 6 months ago she was stealing candy from babies when she was the one who let people have these expectations. She decided to take up the role herself because that was what she wanted. Let’s be honest with how it happened Mal would not live in Auradon if she had to be a regular citizen she wanted to be in control of everybody and to have power because that how she always lived. However once she realized that nobody was just about to hand her this power just for being with Ben unlike with her Mom (getting to rule the isle just because she was her daughter and not because she actually worked her way up there) and that she actually had duties and work to fulfill if she wanted to be the boss. She let her pride get in the way by feeling she had to prove she could last with Ben and become an Auradon girl and ended up miserable and blaming Ben for something she decided to do herself.
She then had the responsibility to fulfill all of those duties and she was struggling unlike anybody else who would’ve had to abide by the “don’t use magic” quote on quote rule she decided to use Magic after claiming she’d give it up and was still a hot ass mess. She can’t even use the excuse that was to help her with her lady in training because she was using it to not be late to class and later to try and manipulate Ben. @ishiphumasohard made a good response on why it was unfair for Mal to use magic as her ‘right’ because at what point would it be unfair to other kids? While all the other kids have to show up on time to school Mal gets to use magic to turn back time instead of just being on time. If other kids studied all night for a test Mal can use a speed reading spell. If there was a cooking contest Mal can spell her way into a feast while the others would have to the actual labor. You get the point, because magic is not universally used by everyone in Auradon and it’s an unspoken rule that it’s not to be used then she should have followed this rule.
I will say the girl was stressed and was feeling alone, I already gave my sympathies for that.
The magic situation really hit the fan when she felt comfortable enough to spell the boyfriend who had already put enough trust in her to continue their relationship that started with her drugging him for her own benefit. Compared to her Ben did seem to be taking it easy but maybe like her, he didn’t want to show it. It seems Ben and Mal had a sort of pack to work hard together to become ‘the king and queen’ of Auradon they were supposed to be in it together. In my opinion it would make more sense for Ben to be hiding things from Mal than the other way around due to the nature of their shitty relationship. But that’s just not how it went down and after Mal tries to spell Ben into not finding her spellbook he gets RIGHTFULLY ANGRY. That entire scene was her fault, she could’ve explained herself and why she was using magic and that she was having a hard time but she once again decides to take advantage of Ben’s trust. Then proceeds to make sure she ends the fight with her being the victim. So much so that the entire fact that she spelled Ben was never brought up again.
Going back to the isle
She then decides to go back to the isle, if this was really her decision I wouldn’t mind it. There’s nothing wrong with her liking the isle better than Auradon if that’s where she felt at home. The problem was she was clearly emotional and let’s be honest, if she had called all of her friends together and actually broke up with Ben and told them this was her decision to go back to the isle before leaving they MIGHT (hard might) not have ran after her like they did. Not only that the duties that we were speaking of earlier, she didn’t formally pull out of anything which is why it irked me when she was so irritated that they came back for her.
Some people actually didn’t like her attitude as soon as she got back on the isle because she expected to run it. That wasn’t surprising to me honestly, because for her whole life that’s how it was, only person she was scared of was her mother. She quickly realized however now that her mom isn’t around and in lizard form nobody was scared of her. Most unrealistic part of D2 was how Mal didn’t get jumped as soon as people realized she got back. Like I said Isle Mal was a straight dickhead and had too many enemies to be walking around like she was.
Another point was when she got her hair dyed by dizzy, the shop wasn’t open, she saw this, ignored it and went in anyway. Not even because her and Dizzy were tight like that she just expected her to do what she wanted (get the pattern with Mal here?)
Skipping her scene with harry because it did nothing to the plot.
The rest of the C4 and Ben come to get Mal back as expected and she acts all surprised and angry. Ben apologizes to her and instead of apologizing for what she did and then explaining that she doesn’t want to go back to Auradon and be a lady of the court. She continues the narrative that Ben wanted her to change and that she’s not good for Auradon so she’s going to stay on the isle. What’s the difference between the two? The first one is her taking responsibility of her actions and deciding for herself that that’s not the life she wants. While the other is acknowledging none of the blame and deciding to run away not because that’s not what she really wants but because everyone will turn on her so she has to run first. It painted a narrative that nothing of this was her own doing while at the same time making it seem like she is doing the right thing by backing away which in hindsight probably was the better decision. Mal’s feelings weren’t the problem I understand them, she thinks she won’t be accepted as herself so she wants to leave before they can kick her out but that’s not what caused her to leave and she knows it. You got caught doing something shitty and instead of apologizing you ran away.
After Ben gets kidnapped she lectures the C4, again she does have some blame in this. With the way the fight ended it made it look like Ben was in the wrong so he was going to try and apologize regardless if they brought him or not. The rest of them came to keep him safe and as her gang members come back for her. Was this not something she considered after she calmed herself down? Ben honestly had no reason to be directly on the isle unprotected besides to sneak and apologize to you so are you really going to just blame the C4 for bringing him there and getting him captured?
Then when Uma, who has him captured plans a meeting she antagonizes her like that’s what is best for Ben at the time. Even in the mist of Ben being in danger she thought it was a good idea to try and piss off the person holding him captive. If you don’t remember what she did she called her shrimpy, insulted the smell of the restaurant and said she never thought of Uma while implying that Uma always had her on her mind for no reason. None of that was necessary to ask what Uma’s conditions were to give Ben back she just couldn’t help herself.
She didn’t care about Dizzy
Who had just performed a task for her and right after she paid her got robbed and had the place trashed just for Mal to say she’ll be alright. This should’ve been foreshadowing at the very least that she wasn’t ready to be making decisions for other people’s lives because besides her own and her friends she didn’t care for many especially those on the isle.
It’s going down
Even though it was in the song and not directly her words again antagonizing the person who has Ben held captive and threatening his life, insulting them is stupid. This entire scene is messy and they shouldn’t even had been able to win a fight against pirates outnumbered. When has Mal ever picked up a sword???
Car ride Back
She gets mad when Ben has sympathy/ shows understanding for Uma. She somehow realizes that it’s wrong Uma kidnapped him but was comfortable spelling him without a second thought. In my opinion she thought she had some type of ownership over Ben she could do what she wanted to him and if somebody else did it was wrong. (Even though this can be applied to what she did in D1, I’m only talking about D2 because most people agree she showed regret for her actions in D1) When he calls her out on her hypocrisy she goes mute and does that thing, of letting her mouth hang opened whenever she gets called out on her shit.
END OF PART 1
I was going to make this one long post but I’ve been putting this off long enough so here is part 1, no idea when part 2 will be up. I do hope to have the Ben posts up before that.

How do you think the Auardon people (aks, Fg, Peter Pan, etc) would react to this:
Hannah Hook *is 12 and the youngest of 3 known siblings *
Also Hannah Hook *has a tattoo, swears like a sailor, has her own and crew, and thinks both heroes and villians are bad and selfish and that being natural is best*
Also Hannah Hook: I am an ADULT.
I dearly hope that once the Auradon adults learn of the existence and living conditions of the Isle kids, their primary reaction is
✨ Existential crisis ✨
„Captain Hook has children?! But- But he hates children!“
Hannah Hook, shrugging it off, you know, no big deal: „Yeah. It's fine, though. He only tries to kill us like once a week, and Harry and CJ mostly deserve it. Besides, Mama and Harriet wouldn't let him anyway.“
„...How many children does he have?“
Then, all she said about heroes and villains sinks in, and FG needs to lie down. (She is having existential crisis number two.)

What would be your advise on naming characters? I'm planning on naming the extra kids we see on the isle and maybe I'll do a part on naming Auardon kids too but I need some advice.
Well, what I usually do when naming characters is first I determine who they're going to be the kids of. Like Akiho-Anna & Kristoff for example. So that confirms the first letter (not in all cases, see Emir-Aladdin &Jasmine) so then I look up names in the background of the character. Is the character's background French? Then I look for names with French backgrounds. Finally, I'll do what's called the 'parent test'. Basically, I'll take the name and I'll say it like I'm a parent giving a lecture. If it flows nicely, then that's what I'll use.

Sandcastles
A/N: Hello everyone! I have been working on this for a few weeks (it just wouldn’t write right, you know?) and it’s finally ready for you guys to read! Remember if you have a request please feel free to send it in!
Pairing: Uma x Reader
Word Count: 1,366
The night is cool as you sit on the beach, just gazing out to sea. Your little spot is only safe haven on the Isle and you love it. It doesn't even face the coast of Auradon, which is a plus considering seeing the shore of the rich and plenty is always a slap in the face. Your little beach is also the only place you can shelter from your mother: The Queen of Hearts. While she's haughty and unpredictable on the best of days, her mood swings are getting even worse after Mal and her cronies wasted their chance to set the Isle's inhabitants free. Which means you have been escaping to your beach retreat more and more. "After all these years, you still sit here?" A voice sounds from the dunes behind you, littered with waste from the Isle. Whipping round, you notice your childhood friend standing in a clump of wiry dune grass. "Hello, Uma." You say, smiling slightly before turning back to face the ocean. "I haven't seen you in a while, Y/N. You never visit the shop anymore." She replies, moving to sit next to you. While your legs are crossed, Uma's are spread outwards; heels digging into the sand. Even in your childhood, she has always been more assertive than you. Which, to some could be strange considering that you are a daughter of one of the most assertive queens in loving memory. But you've always been afraid to be your mother. "How long has it been," you ask after a few moments "since we've seen each other?" Neither of you look at each other; instead choosing to gaze into the large expanse of sea. You wait for her answer, letting handfuls of sand drain through the gaps in your fingertips. For you, this is one of the most relaxing actions one can do on the beach - a tingling sensation that grounds your thoughts and stops you from flying off into your dreams and desires. "It's been over six months, I think. Just before Mal and her goons packed off to Auardon." You nod, lightly. "Wow, that long... huh." When you were younger, yourself and Uma were inseparable. In fact, the majority of your childhood memories have Uma in them. From play-battling across the Isle, to sleeping on this beach under the stars, you wouldn't be who you are if it weren't for Uma's friendship. But sometimes, frustratingly, you wish that it could be something more than friendship. In truth, it's this fact that has had a hand in the cavernous gap between you both. Never knowing where you stand with people is something you cannot deal with, so it just seemed better to cut off ties with Uma at the time. Besides, there's little to no room on the Isle for love and romance. Only gang activities. "Where did you go, Y/N? I can't deal with the Isle, without my best friend." She finally turns her gaze away from the ocean and towards you. Her face imploring and almost, slightly, wounded. It's not often that Uma allows people to see her vulnerabilities... but then again, you've always been the exception to the rule. Is that what love is? Bending the rules of normalcy? You're not overly sure. Sighing, you turn your gaze even further away from her imploring eyes. "Where I've always been. You just didn't bother to look." She inhales a sharp breath. "Is that what you think? That I couldn't bothered to see you?" "Business comes first right?" You say, before getting up from your spot on the beach. Sighing lightly, you start to walk away from Uma. There's no point pouring salt into an open wound, right? Yet after a few steps away, a hand grasps your wrist with a desperate strength. Turning to look at her, you notice how open and pained her face is; all facial features scrunched up as she tries not to cry. "Stay, please. You're the only one who knows me. Please stay with me." Had anyone else been around, you would've set no. But you're alone. On the beach. With the only sound being the waves and your frantically beating heart. "It'll never be the same, Uma. We're not children anymore - we've grown apart." Her hand snakes away from your wrist as she prepares for separation. In the gap of conversation, her hand floats there; wanting to reach for something more. "Then let's do something like we used to do when we were children... Wanna build a sandcastle?" Finally, her awkward hand finds some use: gesturing towards the enormous swaths of sand. Your lips quirk upwards, "Okay. Just like when we were children." ---- "No! The sand is already wet enough! If you add more it'll break!" Uma exclaims, waving her hands to stop you from adding another palm full of sea water. "Are you sure?" You reply, aware of water droplets running down your hands and dripping onto the sand. "You haven't got the best track record with building sandcastles, Uma!" "I swear Y/N, why won't you let me forget that! But you put anymore water on the sandcastle and I will throw you in the sea! You know I will!" She laughs; giving you a mock glare. "Oh really?" You smirk, willing to push her limits. "I swear Y/N!" Stalking forwards, you pretend to open your palms over the wonky sandcastle and laugh as Uma winces. Yet, as you close your eyes in your laughter, your foot slips; causing you to cascade head over heels and collide with all your hard work. "You flattened it!" From being sprawled out on the floor, you can see Uma shriek and pull on her braids in shock. But you can't do anything but laugh; rolling around the floor at her painted expression. No one but you - well maybe Gil and Harry - gets to see her like this and that makes it even funnier. While most of the Isle fears Uma, seeing her for an ambitious, cunning girl, you get to see her as she's always been: competitive and capable of making you cry with laughter. "You think it's funny, do you?" Her voice is still light with amusement but has an edge of a smirk - the voice she uses around everyone but you. Yet, you're still too busy laughing to fully notice. All up until you're scooped up off the ground and jiggling in Uma's arms as she laughs. It takes you a few moments to realise where she is headed, but as soon as you see the sea getting closer and closer, you start to squirm in an attempt to get away. Attempts that, by all accounts, fall horribly. Because soon Uma is waist height into the water and threatening to drop you with a cheeky grin. "Uma, no! I don't wanna get wet!" You wail, wiggling and kicking your legs to no avail. "Tough luck Y/N! It's what you get for ruining my pride and joy!" "That dodgy sandcastle? That's your pride and joy?" You bite back, still squirming. "That was a perfect sandcastle! But for calling it dodgy..." Splash. Into the ocean you go! Every part of your body is submerged in the cool, dark expanse of water. Sputtering as you surface, you are greeted with the sight of Uma laughing above you; with the ends of her braids being dunked in the waves. "I can't believe you did that! You're an absolute scoundrel!" You exclaim, splashing her. "But you love it!" She laughs, pulling you up beside her. "Hmmmm, do I?" "Of course, you do!" She says, hands encircling your wrists as she draws you ever closer. "Because I'm your scoundrel." Grinning alongside her, your murmurs of "I like the sound of that, scoundrel." Before your lips join in a sweet, salty kiss. Pulling away, Uma's smile nearly splits her face. "I've been waiting years to do that." With a light caress to your cheek, she murmurs: "We should go back, dry off..." "Kiss some more?" Asking with a quirk of your brow and lips. "Yes, kiss some more."
Hand in hand, you wade through the waves; back to the sandy shore.
