Luo Binghe getting into some exclusive academy after finding out about his family’s inheritance. He immediately hates all these out of touch rich people… all of them except for Shen Yuan. 

They have a basic meet cute. Shen Yuan spills Binghe’s coffee and offers to buy him a new one, giving him a tour of their campus while they’re out. He introduces him to the librarians and the office staff. Binghe is certain this is way too good to be true, and Shen Yuan has got to have some ulterior motive. 

One some base level he knows Shen Yuan is a good person that is being kind for him for no particular reason. He’s seen him do the same for other people. But the idea of him being just one of the many people Shen Yuan is friendly with makes him feel bitter and self-conscious. So he’s like fuck it, I hate Shen Yuan actually he’s gotta be a green tea bitch or something (because if he’s not it will literally shatter his world-view if he finds out not all people are greedy and bad) 

Hear me out . listen. Pushing someone around is something that can be so homoerotic

Bingge picking on Shen Yuan and being super, super aroused the whole time. He’ll dump water on shen yuan as a joke, then ignore everyone else laughing bc shen yuan’s shirt is sticking to his skin and his nipples got hard because the water was cold-

Or he’ll take shen yuan’s glasses and hold it above his head so shen yuan has to stand on his tip toes and come really close to try to grab it back (one time he even tripped and fell against binghe’s chest!!) Because he’s nearsighted, sometimes Shen Yuan will even forget to put distance between their faces and be within kissing range while he argues with Binghe. 

Once he snuck into the changing room and stole shen yuan’s clothes so he would have to walk back to his dorm in his swim trunks. He definitely didn’t take pictures of Shen Yuan’s blushing face walking back to his room half naked and he definitely didn’t keep the clothes and sniff them like a weirdo haha…

It’s an average day for them (Binghe takes shen yuan by the wrists and holds him against the wall and calls him a fragile little princess and taunts him by saying he’s not strong enough to break out of his hold. Prime bullying tactic for someone you’re in love with 1. Binghe gets to see live reaction of sy’s face when he’s pinned down and struggling and can save that image for later use 2. Physical closeness, they’re practically pressed together 3. Shen yuan bruises easily and seeing binghe’s handprints on his wrists for like a week is super satisfying 4. Binghe can call him romantic pet names like princess or wife and shen yuan will just think binghe is calling him effeminate as an insult) 

Luo Binghe even lifts Shen Yuan’s hands above him to catch both wrists with one hand and says, “You can’t even get out if I only use one hand?” It makes Shen YUan flush red from humiliation in suuuch an adorable way. 

So anyway, Binghe is picking on shen yuan in the back room of some office somewhere, doing his whole routine because he’s been hurt too many times in life to be vulnerable with someone again and this is his only way to achieve intimacy with the person he loves. He’s been saving the “are you sure you’re a man? Maybe I should check” card for a long time and he’s so excited to use it. He’ll even say something about Shen Yuan’s dick being so short, he should just wear a skirt and become a real man’s wife, and that’s BULLYING, it’s NOT a kink, binghe does NOT jerk off to the thought of Shen Yuan wearing short dresses and greeting him home, he DOESN’T. (he does) 

Before he can fulfill this amazing plan, Liu Qingge, another man in their year, barges in?? Obviously, they fight and Binghe’s chance to feminize his crush slips through his fingers

The worst thing is ??? Liu Qingge rescued Shen Yuan like some righteous prince saving the damsel in a fairy tale. Shen Yuan is not allowed to have a storybook romance with someone else! He hates Liu Qingge so much it’s unreal

It becomes impossible to corner Shen Yuan and get some time alone. He and that Qingge guy are together more and more often. Liu Qingge is in the library carrying Shen Yuan’s books now? Now they’re always hanging out on the grass having lunch?? They’re discussing what electives they can take together?!?! 

It’s been like a month since he’s gotten to properly tease shen Yuan and he needs it bad. If he doesn’t pull down shen yuan’s pants in public to embarrass him (and see his ass) soon, he might actually die. 

Then he spots him: Shen Yuan walking to class. Unaccompanied.

Luo Binghe is so overcome with exhilarated relief, he doesn’t even think about what he’s gonna do. He just runs over, ignores Shen Yuan’s screaming, throws him over his shoulder like a bag of rice, and carries him away. 

Shen Yuan freaks the hell out because, okay, petty insults and light fighting are one thing, but he’s straight up getting kidnapped?? That’s not bullying anymore, that’s a crime!! 

Binghe knows he only has so much time before Qingge manages to find them. He needs somewhere he can hide – he races back to his room before he can plan any further. He throws Shen Yuan on the bed, locks the door, and sighs in relief. 

Shen Yuan is sure he’s gonna die. He has no idea what he ever did to piss Binghe off so bad. Yes, he spilled his coffee, but he got him another one! 

Binghe takes a seat on the bed as well. He averts his eyes away from him bashfully, but glances back periodically like a maiden trying to play coy. Shen yuan has no idea how to navigate whats happening. He backs up on the bed until he hits the wall and holds up a pillow like a shield, except- there’s something underneath. 

It’s the cucumber patterned gag boxers he got as a joke from airplane. No one in the world would buy them. “Is- is this my underwear?” 

Binghe lunges at him to knocks the evidence out of Shen Yuan’s hand, but instead pushes him onto his back and ends up with his hands on either side of Shen Yuan’s head. 

Shen Yuan is shocked in place. Binghe, on the other hand, is in bullying-cute-boy withdrawl. He sees Shen Yuan's beautiful face flustered by their position, on Binghe's bed, and POUNCES.

Now that Shen Yuan finally understands his feelings, Binghe has permission to torment him! And he does. For hours, with various tools and against every surface.

not to rain on everyone's parade, but sometimes i do think there's something almost sad to me about the fact that I have seen so much stanley parable fandom content that exclusively revolves around alternate universes that have progressively grown further and further off-track from the narrative of the original game to an extent that i find barely recognizable at times. something about how whether or not it's true (i can't tell people that they don't enjoy something 'enough', i have no metric by which to measure how cherished the original is to people making this content) it almost feels like one of those cases where fanon precedes canon in terms of how much enjoyment people find in the content, as if people wanted the story to be *more* than it was to an extent that makes them override the original mentally. i think it doesn't help that a lot of people perceive fandom content as existing to fill some kind of 'deficit' in an original work- to give people what they didn't get in the original, so to speak. you've probably heard the spiel about how tragic tales have the most coffee shop AUs drifting around in their fandom tags, and such. the difference is that in most cases, those coffee shop AUs aren't more commonly posted about than the source they're based on. i can't really say the same for the stanley parable at this point. people are so enamored with AUs and versions of the game's story involving modifications of the narrator or the limited range of setting laid out by the game itself that i'm sad to say i don't see people engaging much with actual moments from the game itself all that often.

is that just a matter of personal preference? yeah, totally, but it does make me sad. I really *like* the fact that the Parable is so limited. I think it does the narrative a massive service that there truly is no finite ending or escape, that the Narrator is never given form nor further interactability with the game, that nothing ever goes wrong or changes in a way that matters. It's a fundamental part of the narrative to me. Changing that is fun to people, and I get that- but at some point to me it just feels like so much about what I love about the game's narrative is just being reduced to the meaningless backdrop to shipping and the opportunity for something people Want to see more.

In your personal opinion based on your research and reading of Cassandra Cain during her 1999, early and late 2000s, 2021, 2022 Batgirls run, Cassandra's 2024 Batgirl series, Future State timeline, the out-of-continuity graphic novel published in 2020 Shadow of the Batgirl. What is Cassandra's sexuality if we were to compile up all these portrayals into one?

Well, I'm curious, this was because one of the many things I've seen so-far that has yet to have a definitive answer from many fans of DC Comics about the Black Bat's sexuality. It has lots of split opinions, some claims she's asexual, others claims that she's a lesbian with comphet (dunno how they come up with that interpretation because there's no evidence supporting it). However, based on the information that I've seen, it was majorly accepted and pointed out by the DC Comics fandom that she's bisexual (attracted to more than one gender).

Because in her earliest runs, she was shown to have been paired up with numerous male love interests, but they weren't so popular to ever be remembered or were just bland love interests that are civilians so the pairing was cancelled off-panel with the only male love interest that she's even remembered to have had was none other than Connor Kent (the same Kon that is getting ship with Tim Drake) in Batgirl Issue #41, World's Finest Romance, whose also her first date and kiss before they decided to be just friends.

But, what is your opinion on what could be her sexuality based on your knowledge of her earliest to current day run?

Also, what is your impression on the idea of Cassandra getting paired up with a guy and why do you like/dislike it? Or your impression on the World's Finest Romance where we explore the relationship of Batgirl and Superboy.

Full disclosure anon, despite being bi myself and headcanoning the majority of the batfam as bi, I am firmly in the camp of Cass being a lesbian with comphet. I'm open to all headcanons because nothing is confirmed (Except her being straight, I just can't see that. If the dc wiki has you down as "ambiguously bisexual" in the relationships section, because you're that much of an obvious girl lover that not even they can deny it, then there's no way you're straight.)

I'll try and go into full detail as to how I ended up here from originally being like "Eh she can be lesbian/ace/bi I'm equally as attached to all these headcanons" to "wow yeah that's a lesbian with comphet" below:

So for bi Cass and ace Cass I do see and understand the vision for both. Cass has had relationships with men, and she's also got that whole thing with Stephanie going on which is canon in at least one future au. I think for ace Cass a lot of the "Oh that's a very relatable ace feeling" interpretation comes from this scene in her original Batgirl series

Which is also the moment where a lot of people read this and went "Oh mood, that's a lesbian right there." Which makes sense! The disgust with sexual feelings (ace Cass), and the disgust with sexual feelings from men specifically (lesbian Cass), can both be interpreted from this panel. But honestly, it doesn't even have to be an exclusive lesbian/ace moment. Getting sexualised by men against your will is a relatable feeling no matter your sexuality, it just seems to have hit home particularly hard for readers in those demographics.

If I was to sum up why lesbian Cass makes the most sense to me, it's that while the writers probably didn't intend it, the way they explore romance and dating men with Cass is always filtered through the lens of "She's never had normal relationships before! She's trying new things and learning!" It always feels less like an actual relationship where both parties are into each other and more Cass just... growing and learning. About herself, about society, about how these things are SUPPOSED to work. And there's never (at least in my opinion) any big spark between her and the men she's paired with. They never really last beyond a few issues, and they're fun learning experiences and they create interesting character moments for Cass, like the panel above, but they just don't make me feel "Oh yeah, Cass is attracted to this guy." It's more like "Well that was fun! I'm glad she enjoyed trying that."

Meanwhile with women, with Steph and Brenda in her own run and even Harper and the ballerina in the New 52, the relationships just feel... deeper to me. Most of them ARE deeper, no doubt about it. Her relationship with Steph and their first break up comes right before she starts paying closer attention to romance, to her starting to explore what that would feel like first with Tai'Darshan and then with Kon. And the ultimate conclusion? She's not looking for a relationship, she was just lonely. She wants a friend, because she lost her first and only friend right before this began.

There's something to be said for how her friend breakup with Steph is followed right by her first attempts at romance, and how much of it is again framed less as Cass taking what she wants with absolute certainty, and more her feeling confident to indulge that curiosity. And why she chooses to try that now? Well. Probably unintentional but it's a funny pattern. Especially combined with the "no dating just friends" resolution.

Because next up there's the Bludhaven arc, where obviously Steph's death and the gay hallucinations come into play. But there's also Brenda. In terms of Bludhaven civilians Cass becomes close to, there's Brenda and there's Zero. One she has proper conversations with, forms a bond with, goes out to a club with and has a ton of new experiences with. The second, she sees him being interested her and when she goes on a quest to find Shiva, before leaving she has one date with them. They hadn't spoken noticeably before this and they don't speak after. Unlike Brenda, who Cass builds a dynamic and bond with, Zero feels the same as her other male romances. "Might as well try this normal girl thing while I can." because she knows the danger she's walking into trying to find her mother. And then once Bludhaven is destroyed, her grief for Brenda stands out more than anyone. Despite Zero being the one she goes on an official romantic date with, their entire bond feels so much more hollow in comparison.

Again, I don't think the male relationships were intended to be written as comphet. They just weren't given the same spark as her female relationships, far less effort put into the romances then the friendships. And when it's happened three times over the entire run... It's very easy to look at the text and headcanon Cass as a lesbian.

Nothing after her initial run changes this, if anything they keep supporting it. She arranges a date with a guy in her English language class in Batgirl 2008, but there's no follow up or any real effort put into getting to know this guy. Like Zero, and honestly like Kon too, he's primarily there to show that Cass is making an effort at her civilian life. It's a good thing! But it doesn't beat the "Are you doing this because you like him or because you think it's the Normal Thing to do?" allegations.

(Tai'Darshan is a whole other thing, her first attempt at agency from Bruce from an angle we haven't seen before. I like it better than the common attempts at giving her a male love interest, but it still does come across more as character development for Cass than a romance worth rooting for. It could just be a personal thing, but while I enjoy how dynamics like that expand on Cass as a character, if I'm to root for a relationship I need something more than that. Maybe if they brought him back I could get invested, but currently? Lesbian.)

And ever since then it's been more of the same. There are brief one shots where she has a sweet moment or two with a guy and then he's never seen again. Meanwhile her female relationships are hitting insane levels of subtext, to the point where it's practically just text. The way they dive into her female relationships and have her experience the full spectrum of human emotions, where the male relationships have recently just been "Aww nice! She's doing a normal civilian thing with a random stranger we've never met before!" just really makes it so, so easy to look at all the material and go: "Maybe she doesn't actually like men? Maybe she just enjoys getting an A+ in regular people romance, something that's normal to want and possible to achieve."

Ultimately, if you were to ask me why Cass likes x or y female characters romantically, I could pull up an entire essay. If you were to ask me why she likes x or y male love interest, the majority of them I'd just be able to shrug and say "I guess she liked doing the normal dating thing." Tai'Darshan is really the only one where there's a bit more at play, and even then while he interests her as a person she rejects his advances pretty clearly after her initial curiosity from a distance. DC gives us no reason for Cass liking guys such as Zero or the man from the Asian hero festival, so why should I bother trying to make the reasons up? She flirted with them because they were men, and she wanted to do the normal flirting thing. It was a one time thing and a good experience and she never sees them again or actually tries to form a romantic bond. That's all that's in the text as far as male romance, and that's all I'm taking from it.

If other Cass fans don't see it that way, that's fine! There's nowhere in the text where she explicitly looks at the reader and goes I Am A Lesbian. (Not yet anyways, if I make it into the writers room it'll happen someday) It's just both the angle I find most interesting for her character, and the one that makes the most sense to me given the lack of passion and effort put into her male romances as Actual Long Lasting Romances vs her much deeper female romances.

Hi Everyone!! Here are some more next gens for my Blossom Love AU. Sakura, Octavian and Isabella's parents are Sam and Sebastian. Sakura is a loner that prefers to be reading rather than socializing with the other townsfolk but does on occasion, mostly just to stop her siblings from bugging her to get out of her room more. She loves to make music with her siblings and loves reading anything from fantasy romance to suspenseful mysteries. Currently, Sakura is a popular novelist that has sold multiple novels that have been major best sellers all across the world, which is how she got her cutie mark. Sakura is lesbian, meaning that she's only attracted to females rather than males. Octavian is mostly in the middle when it comes to socializing and loves to make new friends only when he's known them for a short while. Octavian adores his siblings and always has their backs no matter what is thrown at them. Octavian is a world famous songwriter and musical artist and has done multiple tours all across the country. Octavian got his cutie mark after gaining enough courage to sing for a town talent show when he was a filly and discovering his love for music. Octavian is also bisexual, meaning he loves both men and women. Isabella is super sweet, loves setting the latest trends and is far more social than both her siblings as she has enormous friend groups from Pelican Town to Zuzu City. Isabella isn't really a huge fan of music like her siblings, but she does exclusively listen to her brother's songs on occasion. Isabella had gotten her cutie mark when she discovered her love for makeup and making glamorous makeup products for her friends and various customers. Credit goes to Selenaede for the bases I used and to Concerned Ape for creating the characters and locations in Stardew Valley as well as creating Stardew Valley itself. Alternate Universe: Psychic System Shock {Part 1}

Also known as: what if Yusei was a psychic duelist?

Going to put a read more early because I'm going to be a pedantic nerd (it's still ship related I just take cohesive worldbuilding too seriously lmao).

Gonna split this into multiple posts, I lost steam. Oops.

Something I had a big issue with is how we were introduced to psychic duelists - psychics in general really - but very little of it was explained before it was basically dropped entirely. Which, you know, kinda sucks when two of the main cast (both the only girls on the main cast to boot, hmm) have major ties to that element of the world. So, to fill in the massive gaps in information we get from canon, allow me to go on the scenic route to get back to the point of this post.

I'll begin with the broadest categorization - Psychic versus Psionic. These two words are used interchangeably by most, but here, they are separate terms. Psychic refers to neural abilities that work intangibly; that is to say, they are not visible and do not affect physical things (good examples include mind reading, aura perception, and seeing duel spirits like Luna). Psionic then refers to neural abilities that are tangible in that they affect the physical world around the user (think telekinesis, healing, and monster materialization like Akiza).

More specific, but still relatively broad, classifications include, but are not limited to:

Extrasensory - Almost exclusively Psychic abilities that enhance one's perception abilities or allows them to perceive things they otherwise wouldn't. Mind reading, aura perception, spirit perception, advanced empathy, and pre/retrocognition fall into this category.

Elementalism - Almost exclusively Psionic abilities that allow one to directly control an element. This may refer to something like pyrokinesis (control over fire) or an affinity for a periodic element, like gold or carbon. The latter is much more rare than the former, however.

Tele Masteries - A blend of Psychic and Psionic abilities that are the staple powers most think of when they hear 'psychic' or 'psionic'. Telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathy are placed in this category.

Neural abilities are genetic - they're inherited from the parents, but it is a recessive gene, so those with powers are still rather rare. Rarer still is someone with particularly strong powers. Whether or not the strength of the parent's/parents' powers (or lack thereof) matter in how strong the child will become is a heavily debated topic in-universe, and I think leaving that open is a better idea than giving a definitive answer.

Further, there's a general age range for manifesting powers - ages 8-14 I think is good. I'm basing it off of Akiza, as she first manifested her powers when she was 8 years old. (Also, while it's not explicitly confirmed, apparently Luna awakened at 3 years old??? And it was so she could astral project into the spirit realm, leaving her body comatose??? HELLO???) This will become important.

The name of this AU - Psychic System Shock - is an actual thing in this AU; it's the name of the event where one awakens their powers. It's often a powerful event as the body releases all of the pent up neural energy it has been storing until that point. There are other neural ability issues/events, such as:

Psychic System Overload - PSO. This condition typically arises when one fails to expend any/enough neural energy. While it usually manifests in Psionic individuals as spontaneous, sporadic outbursts, it can manifest in Psychics as uncontrolled activation of their abilities, often resulting in debilitating headaches.

Psychic System Burnout - PSB. This condition is the opposite of PSO in that the individual is using too much neural energy. Symptoms include persistent lethargy, fainting, inability to activate powers, and bleeding from the nose or eyes.

Now, into the meat of this AU.

In this AU, Yusei's parents both have neural ability - his mother was Psychic while his father is Psionic. Yusei, then, is both Psychic and Psionic. However, for the beginning of the story, no one knows this because Yusei hasn't had his awakening event. Rather, he occasionally has horrible migraines every so often that he works around.

Similarly to my "canon" version, Hakase comes back to life during the Dark Signers arc and he and Yusei have their tearful reunion. Joining the Signers and company to finish the fight against the Earthbound Immortals, Hakase reveals his psionic powers to help the Signers cross Satellite to each control tower. With Jack on his own, the twins with Trudge, Crow off on his own, and Yusei deciding that he needs to face Kalin by himself, Hakase resolves to go with Akiza and Mina and flies them there on Prime Material Dragon. This allows him to have a good moment with Akiza in which Hakase offers to teach her how to understand and control her powers.

During Akiza's Duel with Misty, it's Hakase who intervenes against Sayer. Sayer is thoroughly unamused that the father of his sworn enemy is just as problematic for him, and becomes enraged when Hakase reveals his powers and fights him on equal footing. Sayer taunts Hakase about Yusei's lack of powers, that his son is as useless as he is frustrating, and Hakase coolly replies that power isn't everything. Using Prime Material Dragon as an amplifier, Hakase eventually goads Sayer into admitting the truth behind Toby's disappearance, and we return to canonical events.

However, Hakase becomes concerned about Sayer's words. As both he and his wife had powers, Yusei should have them, too. Prior to this, Hakase had chalked up the lack of usage as Yusei either being Psychic or simply reluctant about them around people without powers. But if, instead, he hasn't awakened his powers, then he's about a decade late and the resulting shock could be disastrous.

[Something I need to post about is Hakase's confrontation with each of the Goodwin brothers. Note for future me. NOW ONTO THE ACTUAL SHIP STUFF!]

In the interim after the Dark Signers' defeat, Hakase and Yusei grow closer and closer, both trying to make up for lost time. Unlike in "ship canon" and actual canon, Yusei chooses to join Hakase for living arrangements (Crow stays in Satellite with Martha for his flock and, because it's the one straight ship I'm ride or die for, Jack lives with Carly to learn how to be a regular human being).

Late nights are ended earlier than Yusei would like, typically because his father resorts to picking him up and carrying him to bed. Yusei complains and sulks about not getting to finish his mechanic work, but he rather likes being carried around like this; like a relinquishing of power in exchange for unwavering safety. It's also a good position for Hakase to place gentle kisses to the top of Yusei's head.

(Some nights are harder than others. Yusei's always had nightmares, and while having his father there to hold him close and whisper reassurances, they don't go away. Some get worse; Yusei lost his father once before, after all, and now he knows the loss would break him in a way that might never be fixed.)

Early mornings are started with more gentle kisses, this time pressed around Yusei's face, neck, chest and arms until he finally decides to show he's awake. Despite how early they wake up, they don't usually get out of bed until at least an hour after.

(Some mornings are hotter than others. Yusei wakes up hungry more often than Hakase, but Hakase has more than enough to keep up. It's not uncommon for Yusei to reveal in the feeling of being full for a while before they start the day in earnest.)

The first time Hakase witnesses Yusei having one of his day-ruining migraines, Hakase realizes that his fear is reality - Yusei hasn't awoken his powers yet, so now there's a backlog of energy potentially ten years deep. As Yusei tries to sleep through the worst of the pain, Hakase cradles him close, and he can feel the power pulsing within Yusei, thrashing at its too-small confines. His boy is a ticking time bomb and it's nothing short of a miracle that prior events didn't unleash them before Hakase was there to play damage control.

But that raises a big question as to how Yusei's power should be set free. Leaving it isn't an option, but just breaking the dam is going to get someone killed.

FANFIC TERMINOLOGY

An alphabetized list of terminology commonly used in fanfiction and what they can mean. This is not every term you are going to come across, but should cover a large portion.

Aged up: The characters are set to an age that is noticeably older than their age in the original source material

Angst: Indicates dark, depressive, anguishing content (the characters will suffer)

AU: Stands for alternate universe. Means that the fanwork changes 1+ element of the canon (can mean different time period, professions, setting, etc.)

Canon: The original source material/what actually happened in the original material

Canon blind: Readers reading fics without knowledge of what happened canonically + writers writing fics without knowledge of the canonic events

Canon compliant: NOT AU, major events of the story remain the same. Character/canon backstories remain the same

Chatfic: Written in the style of a group chat

Crack: Ridiculous, silly, unserious

Crossover: Involves 2+ separate fandoms interacting in some way in a fanwork

Darkfic: Incorporates intentionally "dark" or disturbing elements

Dead Dove Do Not Eat: Fics with this tag incorporate violent, problematic, or dark elements (could mean non-con, cannibalism, murd3r, etc.)

Double: Exactly 200 words

Drabble: Exactly 100 words - people often label short fics as drabbles, however, it traditionally means exactly 100 words

Established relationship: A relationship portrayed in the story was already established before the fic's beginning

Fandom: Group of fans interacting in some way related to a shared interest in a piece of media

Fanon: An interpretation of a canonic character/event accepted by most/many fans in the fandom

Ficlet: Short story - typically under 1K words (usually used to describe fanfiction but can be used to describe original work)

Fictive: Any character in a fanfic

Fictosexuality: Attraction exclusively to fictional characters

Flangst: A combination of fluff and angst (see below) - could be tied into hurt/comfort

Fluff: Pleasant, sweet - might lack plot

Gen: No romantic/sexual content

Headcanon: A fan's personal interpretation of a canonic character/event - might have canonic evidence or might not

Hurt/Comfort: Physical/emotional pain of one character that leads to another character comforting them

Imagine: A short fanfic featuring the reader as the protagonist in second person

Lemon: Explicit pornographic content

Lime: Non-explicit sexual content (there will be sexual intercourse but it is not written out in the story)

Meta: Non-fiction writing written by a fan relating to any part of the fandom (character analysis, fanworks, etc.)

Mpreg: Men get pregnant

OTC (One True Character): A fan's favorite character in a fandom (whether reading or writing)

OTF (One True Fandom): A fan's favorite fandom - quite devoted to it

OTP (One True Pairing): A fan's favorite ship/pairing in a fandom

One-sided: Only one person in a ship has feelings for the other - unrequited love

Orphan work: Copyrighted work and the original author/copyright owner cannot be contacted - another meaning on AO3 because ficwriters there can permanently make their work anonymous

PWP: Porn without plot

Reader-Insert: Typically written in 2nd person, featuring the reader as the protagonist

Role Swap: A trope under the AU umbrella where 2+ characters switch canonic roles

Sickfic: 1+ character is sick and another comforts them. Can range from mild ailments to life-threatening illnesses

Slash: 2+ characters of the same gender in a romantic/sexual relationship/situation together

Smut: Explicit sex scenes

Songfic: Stories that include song lyrics (heard on radio in story, sung by a character, or based heavily around the song)

TL;DR: "Too long; didn't read"/"Too long; don't read"

TW: Trigger warning - used with a label for what the fic contains that could be potentially triggering to a reader with trauma related to said topic

Tsundere: Characters that alternate irritable and sweet (usually women but tsundere men exist as well)

Wangst: "Whiny angst"

Y/N: "Your Name" - is often used in place of the reader's name in reader-insert fics

Yandere: Character that is initially sweet and then shows a potentially dangerous, obsessive level of devotion to a love interest.

Looking for a (fanfic) writing buddy

Hey there, fellow Hunger Games enjoyers! First of all, I want to preemptively thank everyone who takes the time to read this post.

The Hunger Games series has been a huge part of my life ever since the release of the original trilogy. Its probably the series I'm passionate about the most, and no matter how long I've been part of the fandom already, I doubt that the love I hold for it will ever going to leave me.

Besides just being a fan of the books, writing my own Hunger Games fanfiction is actually what brought me to writing as a whole. Im still as passionate about writing fanfic as I used to be as a kid, and have a huge collection on hunger games fanfic that I frequently keep adding onto.

However, there's few people in my real life that are interested in either Hunger Games or reading, and because my works are usually based around original characters, I've never felt like there would be much use in posting them on fanfic sites. I still long for a place / someone I can share my stories with, ask and receive feedback and of course, I'd love to offer the same in return.

So, this is why I've decided to come here instead, and ask if any of you would be interested in becoming writing buddies, to share each others works and receive (friendly & constructive) feedback on them. And who knows? If we get along, I'd also be open to friendships.

A few things to me. I'm 25 years old and from Germany, so maybe keep time zones in mind if thats something that bothers you. Im writing in english, so you dont have to be concerned about a language barrier. Many of my works contain mature themes (very rarely explicit stuff, more like non-light-hearted topics) and I prefer using a somewhat darker writing style. My works very rarely contain canon characters, and if so usually as side characters. That means my works are very OC heavy, but rarely, I do enjoy writing CC aswell (as long as their stories havent already been told.) I do enjoy writing and reading romance, but you wont find romance as the primary genre in any of my works. Additionally, my works can include some sensitive themes, although you won't find me romantising them or things of the like.

I would prefer connecting with people around my own age, although older or younger is fine too, with a preference towards older. Since my stories contain mature and sometimes explicit themes, I'm not comfortable exchanging materials with anyone under the age of 18. I dislike AUs of any kind and if you exclusively write AU content, we are not the right match. I also try to avoid stories with primary focus on shipping, although I can absolutely enjoy a well written story like this and am not opposed to giving them a chance.

Part 2 of my Werewolf!Ethan My Babysitter’s a Vampire AU!

Except it isn’t actually a part 2 and really just me rambling about the pairings I’ve mushed together for this little monster I’ve come with and people are starting to notice on our little monster site. Or app, for those of you app-exclusive users.

So I think the way I’m going to do this is just introduce each pairing/romantic element with each character, and then I’ll go in and add details. Okay? Okay!

- If you read the first part, then you already know that I basically Sabrina the Teenage Witch-ified Benny. So Spell Master!Benny and canon vampire Rory is EVERYTHING to me. Also I like what @kodyrulez talks about, on I think TikTok, how Rory might be a vampire who got bitten (or scratched? Was it scratched) by something that could have been a werewolf. Also, I just wanted to add that this isn’t just a theory, there’s canon evidence. Well, we only know of David being the only werewolf-dog shifter creature in Whitechapel. So what if…another werewolf turned Rory and this is the first time that David has EVER had any sense of another wolf in town before. (I like the idea that David was infected INTENTIONALLY by a witch or another wolf while on a trip for football or maybe a camping trip or something and THAT is why he turns in a dog and not a wolf man) Anyway, it’s based off of that theory that Rory is a hybrid. I’ll talk more on that in a later part where I go into the lore of this AU.

- okay, look, I’m not calling this a relationship. Because of angst. And for funsies. I’ll talk about Jesse and Sara in a minute, BUT after Jesse betrays Sara and Erica and his whole coven or cult or whatever, Erica and Sara hook up regularly. It’s not exactly loving but they care in their own ways. Sara has an almost unconscious hatred of Erica for willingly giving up ALL of her humanity to gain power and control over her life. But she loves Erica for how quiet she still is. When she thinks, she goes still. And when Sara is having a hard time, Erica just curls around her and perches her chin on Sara’s shoulder, so she can feel Erica’s long soft blonde hair on her back and on her neck. Erica resents Sara for denying the reality of her situation; that she cant last forever with refusing human blood. Erica often becomes frustrated, bored even. But she can’t resist Sara when she’s being clever and quick. When she gets righteous and protective. How loyal she is. Which Erica finds ironic, since it was Sara’s refusal to follow Jesse that freed them from him.

- Jesse and Sara: I like the idea of Sara actually being born years earlier. Jesse meets her in the late 80s to early 90s (the years this AU takes place as canon). Jesse wasn’t bothering with pretending to be a normal teenager at the time. It was perfectly believable for the decade. He met Sara at a diner, who was a waitress for her abusive aunt and uncle, her guardians. Her parents weren’t much better, but they died when she was little. Jesse and Sara get together, he bites her, and respects her desire not to drink human blood. But as time goes on and the time of the revival of his first coven is approaching. So he tries to convince her that her dizzy spells and occasional lapse in energy isn’t going to let up or go away, but worsen if she doesn’t start getting with the program soon, things get fucked and she denies him.
