Loser Husbands have the wackest matching drip at the Hellfire Gala

Here's Chuck looking like an absolute fool and brushing Havok off. It's actually quite cruel.

Smug bastard. I wonder how many people think that X looks like a target. He looks like an Apple-brand pharaoh, but Mags is even worse.

I'm convinced this was Charles' idea, because this is the first time Mags has looked anything but fabulous in his entire life. Same white and gold colour scheme, but he somehow found a hat that looks worse than Party Cerebro. Normally cockblocking Havok is a move I'd support, but he and Chuck are being corrupt bastards here. Top hat with a gold band, an ill-fitting 3 piece suit, and an ugly cape. Embarrassing.

Here they are side by side being upstaged by a man who usually wears underwear and nothing else. Chumps.

I don't believe Jumbo Carnation was responsible for these abominations, but clearly some planning has gone into it as they match. It's gotta be Chuck. We know Mags changes into better clothing by the time he meets with Wanda, so at least he knows it.

He did just successfully spearhead the terraforming of Mars. Much better outfit for celebrating yourself in. I'm surprised they didn't wait until *after* The Hellfire Gala to proposition Namor. Sure, it's been a good first year for Krakoa, but they know Namor's mindset well and he's not going to be impressed by what they've achieved.

Terraforming Mars, on the other hand, is so impressive that not even Namor could turn his nose up. Maybe they didn't actually want him on the council because he's a very difficult person to get along with. That hasn't stopped them before, and Namor does have a lot of experience ruling. If so, they're probably just stroking his ego to keep him as an ally.

Atlantis did fall not very long after this so it's a little surprising he'd join the Avengers (who don't like him, to put it lightly) instead of joining his former allies who've gone intergalactic and have the ability to restore his kingdom. I miss The Submariner under the purview of the X-Office. He has more history with the FF and Avengers but I think he's more interesting when in the X-Men's orbit.

Thank you! I've been thinking the same since there's the 10 seasons content worth planned (If we get there hopefully yes) and it would be tricky having Eric's Daniel there being a vampire for so long.

Said that, for a possible bodyswap I'd prefer Luke's Daniel over someone else, but I can't stop thinking about how would they do it... Would they make a clone out of him? But how would that work, wouldn't they need to have made Daniel's clone already in the 70s/80s?

No problem!

I love Eric and I especially wanted him to still be around for Season 3, since I think Dubai is going to be super intense that season, and I just think older Daniel works so much better in the context of how I think Season 3's Dubai plot is going to be structured (and will take inspiration from).

But I always felt that the 10-season plan AMC wants for the show wasn't going to be something he'd fully stick around for. 5 seasons, easy. But 10? The way shooting schedules work, he'd be looking at 12-13 years or so of shooting. Eric just recently turned 71 and I don't know if he'd want to still be doing the show going into his 80s. And especially because I do think Daniel will become a vampire around Season 5 or so. Which I'm sure would require much more shooting time than just the Dubai scenes do as the plotline of the show moves further and focuses more on the modern day.

And I much, much prefer Luke just taking over the part of Daniel in the modern-day sections full-time over just casting some new person in the role. (I would, in fact, hate that.)

Anyway, I've long thought a clone was going to be the way to go wrt Daniel's new body, and it's the way I've been predicting it'll be done. And I don't think they would have had to make it in the 70s/80s. They can fudge the age of the clone being older with some mumbo-jumbo science that at least sounds plausible. It's a fantasy show. The books themselves go into the realm of aliens who lived in Atlantis when they came to Earth. So I mean -- 🤷🏾‍♀️

And speaking of, apparently, that book also has ways of creating bodies outside of cloning, but I haven't had a chance to read that book yet (I'm only up to Chapter 12 of Prince Lestat right now), so I won't go into that because I don't know how that all works. But one of my mutuals has alluded to that also being an option when it comes to a new body for Daniel as well. So that is a possibility too.

Remembering TFC One Year On

TW: Mentions of death. 

I think 2022 was really hard for the MCYT community, especially the Hermitcraft community. We as a community lost one of the most dedicated Hermits. One year on, not much has really changed and yet a lot has changed. TFC was one of the quieter Hermits who had a distinct style of gameplay and editing. 

TinFoilChef was born on June 29, 1959, and was aged 63 when he passed away. He lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma USA, and was a true Hermit. In the 1970s, he went off grid for about 10-20 years and was found working as a Pizza Hut employee. 

TinFoilChef joined Hermitcraft during Season 2, and played up until his death in Season 9. While many people did not see him interact with the other Hermits, he was always involved in the background. 

May he rest in peace.

Item 1. A clock made with jade and diamonds This clock, made with jade and diamonds, has four hands: one for the hour, one for the minutes, one for the seconds, and a fourth hand that seems to point in a different direction each time one sees it. An attempt was made to locate Bdubs to ask if it was his, however, he was not found.

Item 2: A brooch made from sturdy bone depicting a seahorse This brooch appears to be partially made with whalebone and depicts a seahorse made of pearls. It was found not far from Atlantis and shimmers in the light. It also appears to have been made approximately six years ago and was found covered in redstone.

Item 3: A very fancy journal This journal looks like it would belong in a library in an RPG. Inside of it are contents divided into three sections: travel logs, an unusual shopping & to-do list, and finely detailed architectural sketches that almost look like monochromatic photographs. In the middle of the book lies an elegant quill with a violet-midnight-blue gradient with a gold tip.

Item 4: A jar of blackberry and pomegranate jam This jar contains jam made from blackberries and pomegranate and has a label pasted over it depicting a very muscular, pale man with a small bowler hat, a white button down shirt, a rusty orange vest, and a band-aid over his nose. The label also advertises that the consumer will feel an intense increase of focus upon eating it.

Item 5: A case of dark blue lipstick This was found in Pearl’s Alien Base in a small treehouse among several notes regarding “Moon Magic,” a concept as part of a tabletop roleplaying game based upon Pearl’s biome. Aside from the basic premise and a few statistics concepts, no other notes were found.

Item 6: A round jewelry box filled with magenta powder This powder, rumored to enhance taste, is stored in a very light purple round jewelry box adorned with emeralds and citrines. It was found inside of Welsknight’s cathedral in a confessional booth. Parts of the booth itself were also covered in the same magenta powder.

Issue 7: A pair of brass knuckles These brass knuckles were found in the middle of the desert and appear to be very old with various marks of wear and tear on them.

Item 8: A chiller box of noodle kits This box contains a monthly supply of frozen noodle kits with many variations, including Frozen Soba, Pad Thai, Mie Goreng, Pho, Japchae, La Mian, Spaghetti Carbonara, Ramen, Kuay Tiaw, Cincinnati Chili, and many more. The box also comes with noodle toppings. The finder of this box has taken the extra copy of the recipe booklet.

Item 9: A TIE fighter drone This drone wields a knife, but the laser fires are fully functional. The controls are stuck on maximum sensitivity. It might be someone’s custom free cam.

Ready for Launch!

Take to the air, land and sea for a look at the awesome vehicles of Atlantis.

All Atlantean vehicles are made of materials known only in the Inner World. Each vehicle is shaped like a sea creature and looks like a stone statue when it's not in use . But when powered up by Atlantis' giant crystal, they fly like supersonic jets.

[1] Kraken If you think you see a flying squid, it's probably a Kraken. Carrying a crew of three, the Kraken's nine tentacles can grasp and crush objects just like a real squid. Plus, it can blast enemies with an energy beam.

[2] Rakuda Watch out! This jumbo-sized fish—which gets its name from its barracuda shape—can really do some damage. Carrying a crew of of five, the Rakuda glides into battle and then blasts even its largest enemies into bits with its energy-beam torpedoes.

[3] Nartak The big, lumbering Nartak takes its shape (and size) from the narwhal. Used mostly to transport troops and supplies, it carries two crew members plus as many as 25 passengers.

[4] Martag Like tiny fighter jets, Martags buzz all over the place during battle. They're small (with room for one or two rider only) and quick, as well as armed with the crystal-powered energy-beam weapon.

[5] Baylokh If Martags are like fighter jets, Baylokhs are like fighter bikes. Built for just one person, they zip in and out of tight places fast and can sneak behind enemy lines. They also look really cool, like a manta ray.

[6] Turtak The Turtak may look like a plain old sea turtle, but it carries a nasty bite. Built for major battle, the midsized attack vessel holds a crew of three to five people. It can flatten buildings with its powerful energy beam.

[7] Martak A crew of two can fight on land or in the air in the crab-shaped Martak. It can scurry across the ground and leap into the air to fly over enemies, dropping energy-beam bombs all over the place.

[8] Energize! Atlantean vehicles are driven by the same crystal that powers Atlantis.

Notes:

It didn't occur to me during the film that every single vehicle in the climax was a war-machine. Whether the hammerheaded one or the one Milo crashed were also intended as weapons are not mentioned here, though the Fandom Wiki seems to have information on them. Just how far did the ideas and concepts of Lovecraft's fiction differ from his personal life and awareness of reality? Over the years of his brief life as a fiction writer H. P. Lovecraft toyed with many ideas that he claimed to have absolutely no belief in personally. In various tales he cited Atlantis, Mu, Lemoria, but did not actually believe that any of them were anything more than myths. In THE MOUND, origionally ghost written for Zealia Bishop, Lovecraft suggests that the great world engulfing flood which is a central historical event in the Old Testament was a story element. Flood myths occurred in many cultures including several of First Nations Natives of this continent. Lovecraft sited a world engulfing flood in THE MOUND and suggested that this titanic phenomenon was one of the things that drove the aliens from space to retreat inside the earth. These alien humanoids who later interbred with the later surface-dwelling 'earth-born' humans, were somehow brought to our planet by Cthulhu at some point in prehistoric times. . . OK? A whole lot of myth, magic, legend, lore, superstition, occult mumbo- jumbo, religious conceptions including reincarnation appear in various Lovecraft tales. Perhaps most interestingly is the idea that some of his top cosmic entities were presented in his fiction as ARCHETYPES. That idea runs counter to the interpretation of Lovecraft's fiction by many of the leading critics of Lovecraft's fiction. My contention that Lovecraft's fictional beliefs run absolutely counter to his personal ones is where your curator, Richard G. Huber has stood out and against the popular opinions of men like Joshi and Mosig. Mosig has gone so far as to state that H. P. Lovecraft could not even conceive of the supernatural! For the individual who wrote the essay, SUPERNATURAL HORROR IN LITERATURE, that would have been quite a feat! Granted Lovecraft himself believed in no such thing as cosmic archetypes and that fact was made plain in his letters. Tales of the Kraken, the almost universal myths of dragons, vampires, ghosts, demon possession, supernatural forces threatening to return and conquer the earth, witches, familiars, mythic creatures from cryptozoology, impossible twists of the theory of evolution, and multiple possibilities of space-time continuui are proposed in Lovecraft's fiction. All these things were outside of his personal evaluations of reality. True, each of these things were given an updated "scientific" sounding aura, but even then Lovecraft's psuedo-scientific explanations do not hold water. Lovecraft himself was very familiar with the limitations of 'reality' and natural law. He also recognized that most Science-Fiction is actually fictional science.
