Drama queens

Leo season is over. Alors qu’on entre tranquillement dans la saison des Vierge, les #astrogeeks soupirent de soulagement en laissant derrière elleux ce qui est connu comme la drama season par excellence.

Pour moi, la drama season n’est jamais finie. Coïncidence ? J’ai Vénus et Mercure en Lion. Le drama, c’est un truc que je connais bien : on m’a souvent dit et on continue à me dire que je suis trop intense, trop sensible, trop drama, trop compliquée, et ce depuis petite. A force de me l’entendre dire, j’ai développé une grande honte de mes émotions et de la manière dont je les exprime. Je pleure beaucoup c’est vrai, et ça a déjà donné lieu à ce qu’un jour mon partenaire de l’époque me dise que j’étais « trop vulnérable » et me parle de terminer la relation à cause de ça. Perso, ma pratique de chiale régulière m’est hyper utile pour faire circuler mes émotions, et je suis très tranquille avec le fait d’en avoir besoin. Je ne me sens pas particulièrement vulnérable ou fragile parce que je pleure souvent. Du coup, m’entendre dire que j’étais trop vulnérable m’a beaucoup questionnée.

A vrai dire, souvent, les remarques faites sur le fait que je suis trop drama sont également liées à des qualités que l’on associe aux meufs : sensible, douce, fragile, émo, mais aussi lunatique, jalouse, colérique, capricieuse, incompréhensible, folle, vraiment incroyable.

C’est un fait : je n’ai jamais été capable de détachement émotionnel. Je suis une grosse boule d’émotions et de love, je suis très sensible, émotive, et traumatisée.

Pour moi, le drama fait référence aux hystériques, aux folles, aux meufs qui ne savent pas se tenir, aux racisé-es qui ouvrent trop leur gueule, à ce qui dépasse, à ce qui ne peut être contenu et qui jaillit.

A un niveau personnel, je sais aujourd’hui que mon drama parle de mon histoire traumatique et familiale autour (entre autres) de la volonté d’intégration à un système raciste et bourgeois, et aux politiques de respectabilité. Parce que j’ai développé une profonde honte de mes émotions, j’ai passé beaucoup de temps à essayer de les réprimer plutôt qu’apprendre à les explorer et à mieux me connaître là-dedans. Commencer une histoire de love avec quelqu’un qui respecte l’intensité de mes émotions et qui les prend comme des signaux plutôt que comme des problèmes m’a soutenu pour développer de la curiosité à leur égard. Au moment où je pète un plomb, je me pose la question : qu’est-ce qui s’est passé avant et que je n’ai pas écouté qui a pu m’amener à cet instant-là ? Quand d’un coup je deviens mutique, ou que je coupe le contact de manière brutale, quelle limite a été dépassée, quelle émotion je n’ai pas écouté? J’apprends à m’accueillir entièrement, et à prendre le drama comme un indice de ce qui se passe à l’intérieur de moi, et qui me fait me sentir dépassée.

A un niveau communautaire, pour moi le drama parle de notre difficulté à pratiquer une vraie écoute, à offrir un espace d’accueil et de réparation pour les membres de nos réseaux (et je crois qu’on est beaucoup à avoir vécu des violences, à être traumatisé.es et à avoir besoin d’espace pour baisser les armes). Le drama parle de ce qu’il nous reste encore à construire en termes de gestion de conflits et de violences, de reconnaissance et de remise en question, à un niveau interperso et à un niveau politique et structurel (et souvent les deux sont mêlés, non?). Le drama parle de blessures que le monde a passé tellement de temps à ne pas écouter que finalement, il faut bien que ça sorte, et souvent, ça sort en faisant tout péter autour.

Je suis du côté des hystériques, des folles, des naïves, des compliquées, de celles qui ne savent pas dire non et qui douloureusement apprennent, du côté des meufs à qui on a dit qu’il fallait entrer dans une case et qui refusent de se diminuer. Je suis du côté de ce qui dépasse, de ce qui refuse de se laisser enfermer.

Alors la drama season a beau être passée, les drama bitches, elles, continuent à exister toute l’année.

Watched the lunar eclipse with my aunt... and it’s the first eclipse the both of us have seen with our own two eyes. ...this event really meant something big for the both of us, and we stood there for the couple hours it lasted, watching it from beginning to end.

...and, while I may be able to see another eclipse some day, my aunt may no longer be around with the next, so she really took the time to savor this moment and appreciate it. And as for me, it’s still quite a big deal to me since I finally get to see an actual astronomical event happen before me directly with my own two eyes instead of through a video or a photo. The sight of seeing Earth’s shadow project onto the Moon gives me an odd feeling... to see that circle is actually our planet, casting a shadow... It’s, in a way, seeing our own planet. It feels me with... joy, and amazement, because that’s us we see.

Sorry for the little rant, but the little astrogeek kid in me just feels a wild range of positive emotions right now, I cried a little bit just from how happy, astounded, appreciative and joyful I was. ...hope I don’t sound like an idiot for feeling this way over a mere blood moon eclipse.
