Feedback: Assignment 6 & 7
Project 6
"This feels like a nice point to reconnect with drawing and simply being creative"
I have stopped just being creative in this simple way but I would like to go back and just draw and see what happens. I cannot be denied that I want to do it with purpose not just as an exercise.
You mention that it is interesting to think about the lives of these unknown people, and I think that as you were playing with image and text this would have been a good opportunity to flesh out some possible narratives to go with them
This seems like a light and fun idea while embroidering the other project. I work better when I do several things at the same time. I do not mean multitasking (it does not work) but working on two projects can help me to break the monotony and enrich the work.
Project 7
It is important that you question why you are using embroidery specifically
I will write an entry for this but I think it is a combination of factors, some are not just related to the project in hand but a way to find my voice.
Your financial freedom illustration ideas are most promising,
I am happy that you think that because I love the idea. I am thinking of using only ink and starting a sketchbook just for this idea. Perhaps trying to work a subtle idea...
Overall, considering that this part encouraged you to seek feedback from your peers and work for an audience, there isn’t a great deal of evidence of this happening.
I agree but I have failed time and time again to show my work to people... I am not sure how to do it.

Assignment7 part 3
Used Csp and Unity
Market in ancient Athens settings but different time.
Different weather and time of the day. potteries are broken.
I tried to create a different mood by changing minor scenes in the background and the overall color temperature. I think it could be better if I can make more changes to other surroundings like trees and houses.

Assignment #7 : From Lines to Volumes
Power Line, Reference Line, Subdivision
We were asked to use the composition we created in Assignment 6 as an underlying order that gives further references in the third dimension. I tried to move the order I created in Assignment 6 to the three-dimensional system, taking into account the hierarchy and Gestalt principles. I used 1mm thick gray cardboard while creating my composition. I paid attention that every piece in my composition has a volumetric value. I created the hierarchy using a specific metric; I used 2.5, 5, 10, 15 cm high pieces. I tried to create a space in which a creature 1 cm tall could live.
Later, I drew this composition I created on A3 paper from two angles, top view and side view, using a 1: 1 scale.

Assignment 7
I decided to create a die for this assignment. I modeled it in Rhinoceros and then exported it to a .stl file so that it could be used in Cura.
Once imported in Cura, I set up the printer settings. I used the HIPS filament in the classroom to create the object. I then hooked up the 3D printer to my computer and I began to print the die.
The printing process and result are below.
The bottom of the die, which was where the 1 was supposed to be, did not print the way I wanted. It is completely flat and this may be due to the bed heating up the bottom too much. I also wanted to make the dots black so I put sharpie in the holes. The result is below.

CS Assignment 7 Solution
CS Assignment 7 Solution
(100 marks) In this problem, you are required to write a program to index a file. The index should be implemented using the B-tree algorithms given on the CS210 Algorithms web page. The algorithms and data structures should be implemented as C++ classes. PART 1 You will index the censusdata.txt file in the /home/venus/hilder/cs210/ assignment7/datafiles directory. This file is a text file…

CS Assignment7 - Vanity Primes Solution
CS Assignment7 – Vanity Primes Solution
Your job this time is to write a daemon that implements an HTTP server that generates “vanity primes” on request when supplied with the “vanity” string to include in such a prime. (Note: in real applications we would NOT do this – it’d weaken the security properties of whatever was using the primes – this is for play only!) A daemon is a program that forks a child process to do it’s work and…

Assignment #7
What are the ethical implication of sharing election predictions?
In the case of the 2016 election, the prediction were obviously grossly misleading. A chunk of the population rooting for a democratic win was shocked and horrified that Trump had won. These predictions are now based on a slew of data ranging from precise numbers to imprecise "feeling" on social media, which we now know was being manipulated. Sharing election predictions without acknowledging the sources of the data used to generate the prediction led to a complete let down for many Americans and I think has contributed to a distrust of predictions in general.
How necessary is polling to the election process? What function does it serve?
Polling is generally done for the sake of publicity. Candidates can use these numbers to promote how the "general public" might be feeling about them. Of course, Media organizations also use these numbers to assess where candidates stand against one another at different times in the race. Polling isn't necessary per se, but it's become such an essential part of our governmental system. In a time where everything is predicted and predictable, it seems that the lack of polling might cause chaos of some sort. Not knowing is simply something people don't do any more. I think, in part, this is why the 2016 election was such a big shock to so many. The polling was inaccurate in this case, and people have grown to rely on accurate polling, causing a whiplash of sorts in the trust that we hold in polling data.

Assignment7: From Lines To Volumes I tried to work in the third dimension using the low-level orders and the high-level order I made in the previous assignment. In this work, we had to examine the concept of space for the first time. Our model had to have a heart. I also had to choose my power line well from the order I used. In fact, it was to show the volumetric relationships in a balanced way while moving it to the third dimension. In addition to these, I drew a conceptual sketch for the first time in this assignment to show spatial relationships.

Assignment7-Glitch
This week’s link: https://group-project-creativeding.glitch.me/
For this week, we made our project into a virtual birthday card. I added a birthday cake that if the user clicked, the candle will be lighten up. My computer vpn crashed this week and it’s super unstable for me to watch youtube videos and get on Glitch. So I started working on the project late on the weekend. I watched the tutorials through my phone but I didnt quite understand this week’s videos. I watched them twice and tried to play around with what Ellies built in Glitch. I think I kind of starting to get it and understand what would change the output. The group project helps me to understand what I didnt get from the tutorial videos.
