Ashtar Duncan Shaleston, Zola’s loyal partner in PMD: The Firelight Chronicles. Growing up in the desert town of Carmine (located in the Garnetine region), Ashtar fled to Primonyse after a dispute with his mother over family business matters and set his sights on Primrose Town’s guild, where he would eventually meet Zola.
I didn’t make a lot of changes to his design save for the fact that his tail is now completely curled like a Shiba Inu, his palette has been slightly altered, and his belt now has a buckle.

Just a little something I thought I'd share with you PMDU guys.
The above image was one of the first things I submitted to dA, way back when PMD-E was still active. That was four years ago, back in 2011, from my forever discontinued Event 3 comic. Since then, I've been pushing myself to surpass my limits, looking for new ways to improve while trying out new things I never would've thought of doing. And what a journey it's been!
The bottom image is a little doodle I did just now, of Zola and Ashtar (aka the two classic members of my old Rescuers team for PMD-E). Still, I can't help but smile at how far I've come since then. I've enjoyed playing around with my characters' designs and making them unique from the rest, but do you think it'll end here? No! There's still hundreds of ways I can differentiate Zola from the rest of the Zorua without straying too far from the official concept. Same goes for Ashtar. The possibilities are just endless!
When I first started out, Zola and Ashtar were the complete opposite of their actual personalities: Zola was the stoic and calm girl whereas Ashtar was eager to get missions done quickly. I haven't made that mistake since then as I've swapped their personalities back around so now Zola's the eager type to get things done quickly whereas Ashtar is the calm yet stoic mon.
Anyways, that's enough rambling from me. For now, enjoy the images I present to you so you can see how far I've come throughout the past 4 years.

I never thought I'd see the day when my two classic PMD OC's would end up getting Hisuian Forms...but here we are!

And here’s Ashtar. Only one more left to go.
Ashtar is a calm yet stoic Growlithe and Zola's big brother figure as much as he is her best friend. Though Ashtar tends not to show any sign of emotion, even in times of grief, he does have a hair-trigger temper and will violently lash out at even the most miniscule of insults thrown at him. His Flash Fire ability, combined with his powerful build, has earned him the nickname "The Indestructible Firewall".

And here’s Ashtar’s design for Tales of Tabira. I wanted to give him a hat, but that would probably end up being a little too time-consuming, so I left it out.
