A little bit of his history: Jonathan studied laws in Phoenix, the city where he grew up. During his last years of studies, he met Katriena Edmundson, he had a relationship with her, but they broke up once he graduated and moved to New York City where he had a job offer. Now in New York, he met Clarissa Frye, a coworker, who later became his wife and mother of his kids, James and Lux. Years later, Jonathan found out that Katriena was mother of one of his kids, who she raised on her own and in secret to him. This eventually led to his divorce.

A little bit of his history: Clarissa was born and raised in New York City, the same place where she studied law and began working. She met Jonathan Herondale at her job, she quickly fell in love with him and eventually married him. Their marriage wasn’t exactly a happy one, even though they had two kids, they were just not really happy together, it eventually collapsed when the couple found out that Jonathan had a kid with another woman. After her divorce, she married Gregory Hawthorne, in whom she found all the happiness she couldn’t have with Jonathan.

A little bit of his history: Luca was born and raised in Philadelphia. He lived a merry life along with his mother and father, they constantly visited New York City, to see his family on his father’s side. Since he was a kid, he was impressed by the buildings this city is famous for, and all he wanted to do is visit all of this building and take a part of the construction of one. he was determined to attend the Columbia University in order to learn architecture. And so he did, he finished his studies and stayed in New York ever since.

A little bit of her history: Katherine is the youngest child of Mya and Lilith. She was always protected by both of her brothers who she deeply loves. She grew up with her family in Boston, constantly visiting New York and Kennebunk. She especially loved to visit New York City, because of all the great things there are there to see and explore. She studied journalism at the Columbia Unversity and while studying, she developed her love for photography.

A little bit of her history: Zoë was born in New York City soon after her parents got married. Zoë was named after her aunt, and mother’s best friend, but since everybody already knew an “Ashley Miller” she was just referred to as Zoë. She grew up following both her brother and cousins everywhere. When she was 15 years old she was sent to live with her grandparent in Italy, in order for her to connect with her Italian heritage. She loved the country so much she decided to study Nursing in the Humanitas University. She later moved back to New York City and continued to live near to her family and childhood friends.

A little bit of her history: Marcelle was raised in Sagaponack, New York, by a couple of businessmen. Both her mother and her father were heirs to a large fortune, her mother, of the west side o the country, and his father, of the east side. As she reached her teenage years, she became quite a rebel as she usually escaped to New York City. That is where she met Oliver Church, who was later her lover and father of her 3 children. Soon after the birth of their twins, the couple started o have constant fights with each other, and both of them recurred to alcohol and drugs to try to solve their problems this eventually led their relationship to collapse. Both of them got treatment and managed to deal with their addiction problems.

Family: Daughter of Marcelle Millar & Oliver Church. Twin sister of Ashton and big sister of Alexander. Ashley married James Herondale at an early age, and they are both parents of Jacqueline, Nathaniel, and Marilyn.

A little bit of her history: Ashley grew up in a troubled family, but her twin brother was always her support, some people would say that they were way to close. They lived in a big fancy house, on the East side of Manhattan and they regularly spent summer in a little town in Maine, where her father used to live; there is where she found her second home, with a second family included. Her best friend, Mya, was the eldest child of the mayor of the town, her family, after some time embraced her and later welcomed to the family; those summer trips became monthly trips. Since she was little, she was fascinated my the fashion world, it only took her few years to decide that when she grew up, she wanted to become a fashion designer, and later, create her own brand of clothing; no one at the time would have imagined that she actually would and that it would become on of the most prestigious fashion designers of the century. She was the captain of the cheerleading squad during her high school years thanks to her constant gymnastic classes as a child. During her teenage years, Ashley quickly became a regular client of pubs and bars. It wasn’t until she got pregnant at age 19 when she was forced to stop drinking. During this time, she, wanting to get away from her family and friends, moved to Perth, Australia, but not long before her daughter was born, she returned to NYC. 3 years later she married James Herondale, the father of her baby girl. Their small family grew with the time. Ashley loved her job, she was CEO of her own company: Milar & Co, where she managed to sell various brands of clothing that were also her own, this company successfully spread worldwide in less than 10 years. She loved to travel, she visited a new country at least once a year and ofter used her job as an excuse in order to re-visit her favorite countries, which were mostly, France, Italy, Australia and Germany. She continued to have a happy life in her home city, with constant visits to her family and friends.

A little bit of her history: As the eldest daughter of a marriage of lawyers, Lux was after taking care of her little brother, James, but as soon as she got the chance she moved to Seattle to study and decided to stay there and make her life away from the trouble New York City meant to her. After some years she regained touch with her brother and eventually with her parents.
