Nemona and Penny have one child that they conceived through surrogacy (Nemona is the one that got pregnant because it was the one compromise to her parents to stop pressuring her into getting into an "actual relationship" so she can have a heir in case anything happens) and she's the battle studies teacher. She often works with Eri for her classes though. Still battle crazed, but a lot better at reading a room and responding accordingly. Penny is still general IT support at the academy but she often helps the league too. Passes down to her child the secrets about painting hair, pirating anime and having crushes on their best friend's mom. They live in Mesagoza.

Arven and Juliana have two children and they conceived the first fairly early. (By complete accident mind you but I imagine they were ready to tie the knot as fast as possible) Arven is the home ec teacher that kids with difficult home lives flock to like birds, although he also published a study about herba mystica that was successful enough to guarantee him a spot as a researcher to carry them on further (that and nepotism) which he refused. Juli still works with the League, being strongest champion and all that, but she also works on a lot of side gigs, since her main work gives her a lot of free time. But her second favourite thing in the world (her entire family is tied for first place) is gardening. They live in a nice little home in cabo poco.

“It doesn't matter what kind of dog Pokemon it is, they love Arven no matter what.” Juliana shrugged. 

“Hey now! One at a time! One at a time!”

“He must have a big heart.” 

“M-Mabostiff! Help me out will ya!”

Juliana cast another glance over shoulder where despite his initial protests Arven had nonetheless opened his bag anyway And was distributing Poke’ treats to the absolute lovestruck spectral puppies, who were also obediently now sitting and waiting their turns as Mabosstiff sat at his side resuming order with a single Deep Woof.  

“The biggest.” She murmured

Okay but Arven strikes me as the sort to be thrilled about how strong he is not because he can punch things, but because it means he can pick up Juliana AND Mabosstiff at the same time and that’s just. Very cute to me.

To take pride in your own strength not because of the damage you can inflict on your opponents, but because you can lift up those you love most in life - truly the quality of a himbo.

And an attractive quality, let’s be honest.

Let's see, Mabosstiff weighs 134.5 pounds (or 61 kgs), and Juliana likely weighs less than that. The chances of Arven regularly lifting Mabosstiff and hauling him around as if he were still a Maschiff is significantly high. He's also always seen carrying that large backpack of his, loaded down with cooking supplies and sandwich whatsits and who knows what else.

Considering all the above, it's no surprise that Arven would be strong, but the narrative actually went out of its way to show just how much with that cutscene where he pulls Juliana onto Koraidon's/Miraidon's back and in midair no less!

Whoever's idea it was at Game Freak during development to make this moment a reality, I owe them my life...

Had a great experience commissioning @the-alicorn-artist to draw the ‘deli scene’ from chapter one of my fic: Cognitive Dissonance on AO3! ☺️ She was very easy to work with and took great care to detail! 10/10 recommend her 🎨

Ch 1: Juliana learns that Arven doesn’t remember the last time he’s celebrated a birthday and takes him out while planning to confess her feelings to him by way of her Treasure Hunt journal-turned-diary (and you can see it in her bag in the picture! 📓)

Day 1 of Arven x Julianna Week

“C’mon Arven!”

Julianna beckoned Arven to the group, Penny, Nemona and Florian beside her. Her braided hair was resting on her shoulder, accompanied by her smile. His dirty blond hair was tangled and frayed, as he looked up to see his friends. He smiled, stepping towards his friends. The ‘Raidons pushed him forward, startling him as he chuckled, running up to the group, not wanting to be pushed any longer.

“Alright little buddies.” He smiled patting Florian on the head, his brown neat hair being fluffed up as the boy laughed. Florian jogged ahead, catching up to Penny, Nemona by her side. The female twin smiled, letting herself fall beside Arven, Koraidon snuggling his snout next to her head.

The duo was silent, the rest of the group ahead, talking loudly with excitement flowing through their words.

“Hey Arven?” He looked beside him, shaking himself out of his pressing thoughts. Julianna’s eyes met his, a soft look laced in her brown eyes. “You okay? If you ever need help or you want to talk about…. what happened in there, I’ll always be here. Okay?”

The wind calmed down, the sunset gleaming off of the duo, their hands inching closer. The words were exactly what he needed to hear. A beat went by, their hearts in unison.

“Thanks, Julianna.”

Their hands interlocked.
