Is artificial intelligence the artist's tool?

"New technologies, and artificial intelligence in particular, are drastically changing the nature of creative processes. Computers play very significant roles in creative processes such as music, architecture, fine arts, and science. In fact, the computer is already a canvas, a brush, a musical instrument, and so forth. However, we believe that we should aspire to more ambitious relationships between computers and creativity. Instead of considering the computer as a tool to assist human creators, we could see it as a creative entity in itself. This perspective has led to a new subfield of artificial intelligence called computational creativity. This chapter addresses the possibility of achieving computational creativity through some examples of computer programs capable of replicating aspects of artistic creative behavior. We conclude with some reflections on the recent democratizing trend of creativity, which involves assisting and enhancing human creativity."

The theme of women in art has accompanied artists since the Paleolithic era. Indeed, womanhood in all its dimensions signifies desire, beauty, and admiration for many reasons. When we often contemplate the role of the female figure in the art world, it is often restricted to very passive aspects: muses, models. Stereotypes perpetuate the roles that society has assigned to women, such as virgins, mothers, goddesses, prostitutes, femme fatales, and victims. Art has not been immune to these constructions either. Through art and its visual constructions, man has had the power to create the imagined woman, thus conceiving a femininity that mirrors his deepest desires and hidden fears. Such omnipresence is found in our culture, and its artistic representation ranges from graphic imagery to video, passing through narrative cinema, which presents its most complex expression and widest circulation."

These models are capable of processing large amounts of text and learning to perform natural language processing tasks very effectively.

What is ChatGPT? To understand it we have to go back to the beginning of the GPT family of models. GPT stands for “Generative Pretrained Transformer”. The original paper was written in 2018, and it generated a significant change, mainly in the subfield of transfer learning. This model could be retrained with relatively little data and achieve SotA (State of the Art) results in multiple benchmarks.

J'ai jamais publié le final parce qu'en fait j'avais prévu de le projeter sur une grande feuille et de le faire au posca, je l'ai fait presque en entier et filmé le process (et probablement perdu une partie des videos en cassant mon téléphone) et j'ai eu des soucis entre temps et j'l'ai jamais fini (puis jme suis mise a voir les problèmes dans la pose et ça m'a saoulé, mais je l'ai toujours roulé et presque pas déchiré quelque part, faut que jle termine) sinon voilà l'encrage au numérique :

NOTE DE LECTURE : Charlotte. David Foenkinos. 2014

Voilà un livre que je voulais lire depuis si longtemps et je réalise qu'il s'est déjà passé 10 ans depuis sa sortie !  David Foenkinos est un auteur que j'ai peu lu, étant parfois déçue... mais pour ce bouquin le sujet m'attirait : une biographie d'une artiste peintre, et je savais le succès qu'avait eu cet ouvrage.  Bref je l'ai littéralement dévoré, à bout de souffle, comme l'écriture incite à le faire, avec le retour à la ligne à chaque phrase. Ce n'est pas un effet de style poétique comme je le pensais tout d'abord, mais une écriture brève, incisive, lapidaire pour inscrire le passé et l'absence dans la marge blanche à droite de chaque page.  Et puis l'auteur évoque son obsession pour Charlotte Salomon, sans trouver d'explication si ce n'est l'authenticité de sa personnalité, forte et fragile. C'est donc un roman extrêmement touchant de Charlotte, cette jeune femme qui a réussi à survivre jusqu'à nous grâce à sa peinture, grâce à son oeuvre autobiographique malgré son destin fatal, celui de son histoire familiale avec tous ces suicides à répétition, et celui de la grande Histoire avec l'extermination de son sang juif. Oeuvre prolifique et colorée réalisée entre 1940 et 1942, en zone libre dans le sud de la France, à Villefranche-sur-mer et St jean-Cap-Ferrat (près de chez moi) pendant son exil de l''Allemagne nazie.  La raison de la vie et de la mort n'a parfois aucun sens, c'est ce que j'ai ressenti en lisant cette fiction tirée de faits réels. L'art, du roman ou de la peinture, permet pourtant de lui en donner un. Merci alors aux artistes.

Je suis allé au palais de tok voir l'expo où ils montrent l'implication internationale des artistes dans la lutte palestinienne avec plein de documents hyper intéressants et explicites sur la libération de la Palestine et tout à la fin quand tu sors de l'expo y a un petit panneau de gros fils de chien qui dit "cette exposition présente des archives dont les contenus doivent être appréhendés dans le contexte de leur époque.... Insanity

n. mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, cannot conduct her/his affairs due to psychosis, or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior. Insanity is distinguished from low intelligence or mental deficiency due to age or injury. If a complaint is made to law enforcement, to the District Attorney or to medical personnel that a person is evidencing psychotic behavior, he/she may be confined to a medical facility long enough (typically 72 hours) to be examined by psychiatrists who submit written reports to the local superior/county/district court. A hearing is then held before a judge, with the person in question entitled to legal representation, to determine if she/he should be placed in an institution or special facility. The person ordered institutionalized at the hearing may request a trial to determine sanity. Particularly since the original hearings are often routine with the psychiatric findings accepted by the judge. In criminal cases, a plea of «not guilty by reason of insanity» will require a trial on the issue of the defendant’s insanity (or sanity) at the time the crime was committed. In these cases the defendant usually claims «temporary insanity» (crazy then, but okay now). The traditional test of insanity in criminal cases is whether the accused knew «the difference between right and wrong,» following the «M’Naughten rule» from 19th century England. Most states require more sophisticated tests based on psychiatric and/or psychological testimony evaluated by a jury of laypersons or a judge without psychiatric training. A claim by a criminal defendant of his/her insanity at the time of trial requires a separate hearing to determine if a defendant is sufficiently sane to understand the nature of a trial and participate in his/her own defense. If found to be insane, the defendant will be ordered to a mental facility, and the trial will be held only if sanity returns. Sex offenders may be found to be sane for all purposes except the compulsive dangerous and/or antisocial behavior. They are usually sentenced to special facilities for sex offenders, supposedly with counseling available. However, there are often maximum terms related to the type of crime, so that parole and release may occur with no proof of cure of the compulsive desire to commit sex crimes.

Accoudée, lasse, un verre d'absinthe à la main et chlorosée jusqu'à l'élégance, me voilà droguée de langueurs amoureuses dans un siècle malade - febris amatoria (fièvre amoureuse) qui fait pâlir les chairs et dresser les perversités ennuyées. Ou étendue dans des poses indécentes sur des terrasses à crier la vie, et puis danser, gorgée de soleil, les muscles vigoureux qui se tendent et s'exaltent et gémissent la volupté - de feu, la sueur qui perle la lumière sur la peau ouverte, pleine, généreuse.

J'ai, mêlé à mon sang, le goût slave des larmes et l'ardeur de l'Espagne, à mon histoire, le ciel cru de l'Algérie et les fugues qui mènent à la tombe de Rimbaud. Je suis hantée par la maladie des Nerval et des Van Gogh - sans porter pourtant aucun fruit - et par un dilettantisme qui passe de la peinture à l'huile au jazz au judaïsme à la russophilie à l'écriture. Je suis ecléctisée, névrosée, passionnée - je suis fragmentée et sensuelle, déchirée dans un ciel sublime et noir.

Et ce n'est pas la nuit - j'ai perfectionné ma langueur et mon style dans un dandysme qui relevait autant de la folie que de l'art, de la survie que de l'extase. Nous savons, elle est moi, que nous sommes plus que des œuvres - nous sommes des artistes (et personne ne peut nous écrire). La poésie donne forme à nos vies et à nos sensualités. Nous nous coulons dans la prose, nous nous faisons au désir de l'autre, de l'ailleurs - puisque là où je m'anéantis, nous sommes,

nous sommes le ciel étoilé et le brasier délié de mes bras qui te prendrait tout entier si ça n'était pas la sève qui nous déborde, nos salives qui suppurent comme cette sueur de mes danses enflammées, de l'un à l'autre, je vais, entre la liquidité et la fièvre, l'épuisement et la luxuriance, je vais, dans un morcellement, une contradiction sans fin, un éclatement jubilatoire,

une explosion entre la pose surannée des anémies jouisseuses et la sanité puissante de mes dents plantées dans un citron - éternité dynamique - hyperesthésie énergique de nos extases physiques (et métaphysicées).
