Well one amazing woman believed to be first woman to achieve international celebrity as an athlete, Helen Wills Moody, won one of her 19 grand slam singles tennis matches. Maybe this was her teapot ? Quite possibly it was someone's silver wedding anniversary gift or engagement. It was obviously special enough to engrave this date on this delightful EPNS Art Deco teapot. It was clearly much cherished and used daily as there is an area on the lid where it's owner had rested her thumb while pouring tea.
