Grateful for Ars Magica. My campaign was built to run potentially forever, and may be ending in the next month.
Grateful for my partners, whose weight is warm.

Christian Tămaș, Le protecteur maudit, Ars Longa, 2023
Une chronique de Sonia Elvireanu Christian Tămaș, Le protecteur maudit, Ars Longa, 2023 Un nouveau roman de Christian Tămaș vient de sortir aux éditions Ars Longa, Le protecteur maudit. Vita brevis ars longa
"Art is long, life is short" : learning a craft takes time and you don't have much time to do so
An aphorism from the Greek physician Hippocrates (picture on the left : Hippocrates' aphorisms)
Now it tends to be read as "life is fleeting but art lasts"
I first saw it on the door of my secondary school's art room. I have fond memories of my time there and the phrase has stuck with me for over a decade now. Life truly is short, but art's influence over it is everlasting. Both in the sense that a work of art from centuries ago can still move people today, and in that throughout our lives, over generations and numerous lives, humans keep making art and find meaning in it.
Memento mori
"Remember you must die"
Mostly showcased through artwork, a memento mori reminds us of the brevity of our time here and the fragility of human life.
A basic memento mori painting would be a portrait with a skull but other symbols commonly found are hour glasses or clocks, extinguished or guttering candles, fruit, and flowers.
The [picture on the right] is Pablo Picasso's 'Goat's Skull, Bottle and Candle'

Grateful for the absurd and delightful length some of my tabletop players go to, and the hundred plus pages we've written in a shared google doc about their attempts to figure out what's going on in my campaign world.

whatever the reasons behind it all are, this way to (re)act had been called "toxic" many times before, in the human healthy circles. and it makes all their creative presence even more suitable for us. because we're toxic. venomous. sea serpent or whatever. and it sounds alright, much more alright than any not-exes talking shit.
captain appreciates it, so we move on and keep drawing our fantasy stuff. this too shall pass - and it's true about all the tooth rotting sympathy and unreasonable friendliness, too.
