Tobias: You know, Mother Lucille... there's a psychological concept... known as the denial that I believe you're evincing. It's when a thought is so hateful... that the mind literally rejects it.
Lucille: You are a worse psychiatrist than a son-in-law... and you will never get work as an actor... because you have no talent.
Well, if she's not going to say anything, I certainly can't help her.

Doe and Her Health (TW: Talk of Weight, EDs, Masking, Mental Health Problems)
—————
Physical Health
Doe overall maintains a relatively good health. However, she does have past health problems and current health conditions that do affect her mentally just as much as it does physically. For one, Doe devloped a higher metabolism rate, which makes it hard for her to gain weight, much less maintain a healthy weight range. Not to mention when her father further pushed her for her training, he made snide remarks about her body and weight (mind you she was a child still during this time), and given she grew up during the 90s-2000s, the whole push to be “skinny” was insanely high and detrimental for a child/teenage girl like her.
She would eat less food for a long period of time, until it became she ate nothing.
Doe would repeatedly collapse during training, even keel over from starvation to the point of tears. A part of her knew what she was doing was wrong, but the other part of her wanted her father to be proud of her no matter how many times he raised the bar for her. It had gotten so bad that Doe, before her father was finally arrested, weighed nearly 98 pounds at 5’10”. She even had to be forced medication and therapy in order to regain control of her weight and health. Initially, Doe was refusing the medication due to the trauma by her father and the people training her, but the therapy during her secondary school days eventually got her to take it and regain weight to a relatively healthy weight, albeit still somewhat underweight (but not dangerously so).
Now, at 32, she weighs a good 125 lbs, and is doing a lot better with her weight maintenance and taking her medications.
However, she does sometimes forget to eat and gets too close to relapsing with her ED. Thankfully, Ghost is there to notice this and when he calculated the calories from her day, he makes her a huge breakfast or dinner and even tells her he would lace her food with her medicine just so that she knows he cares so much about her, even goes as far as eating with her.
Mental Health
Now it’s pretty obvious that Doe has been through a lot throughout her life, and yes, therapy does work for her. Though that doesn’t exactly mean she isn’t safe from triggers of all kinds, whether that be PTSD or ADHD.
Doe for the longest time had been under serious scrutiny from her father, causing her to struggle horribly with stress, anxiety, and even depression, though she was never allowed to show weakness around him. She had to see things no child should even have to see, and that alone caused unnecessary distress on the girl to the point she eventually became desensitized by violence and horrors.
Doe habitually bottles up her problems and internal emotions, forcing herself to mask in order to fit in and keep up appearances. But she so longs to be open about herself and her emotions, she doesn’t want to deter people away from her.
ADHD makes things even harder on her as she even tends to be hard on herself when things go wrong in a mission, causing her to silently have a panic attack the moment she can get alone time. If or when someone walks in on her having one of her episodes, she quickly pulls herself together and tells them she’s fine (she isn’t).
After her father’s attempt on her life, his own, and her siblings, her uncle took the triplets in and he had them undergo some serious therapy sessions as teenagers, especially Doe. He felt awful that he couldn’t be there for his niblings, but it also would have gotten him killed if he ever got near the compound where they were living against their will.
Now an adult well into her 30s, Doe strives to live a better life even if she does have a more “childish” take on it. Sometimes she can be quite loud and cheery, boisterous and playful, but remember, that’s the side she never got to express growing up.
But even that side, added on to masking, can wear her down all over. She might not realize in the moment she has gone too far with her emotions and expressiveness, but when called out on it, she’ll start off as defensive, but soon enough, she’ll apologize; even if it makes her feel like shit she did that without knowing it.

in hindsight will from glee is a lot like michael from arrested devlopment. generic-looking brown-haired white dude protagonist who you initially think is supposed to be a well-intentioned everyman trying to do the right thing even surrounded by antagonistic weirdos but you pretty quickly realize this guy is just as much of a manipulative amoral freak as everyone else but he thinks everything he does is righteous and justified because he's the Good Guy.

you know what would lend itself well as a workplace comedy?
antonia bird's 1999 film Ravenous
VERY clear characters with VERY clear dynamics
Boyd as the Sensible(tm) one but he's really just as deeply weird as the rest
Ives shows up every couple of episodes to Shake Things Up and have weird tension with Boyd
#ravenous#ravenous 1999#boyd is sensible in the same way that Michael in arrested devlopment is#which is to say not at all but he sure thinks so

Don’t Miss This: “Deathstroke” by Christopher Priest
There are a lot of comics out there, but some stand out head and shoulders above the pack. With “Don’t Miss This,” we want to spotlight those series we think need to be on your pull list. This week, we take a look at “Deathstroke” written by Christopher Priest. The book that coming out of Rebirth elicited the reaction: wait this is really good AND its Deathstroke. Now it’s just this is real good.

Who Is This By?
The current incarnation of “Deathstroke” has been written by Christopher Priest and has featured art by Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz, Denys Cowan, Cary Nord among others, with (some) layouts by Larry Hama.
What’s It All About?
Slade Wilson is a real jerk. His dysfunctional family, contractors, enemies, and Christopher Priest all know it. But he wants to be better person. Can the man with the death stroke become a better person, or will his past, family, occupation, and litany of other things stop him.
What Makes It So Great?
What makes this run of “Deathstroke” stand out is Priests commitment to treating Slade Wilson as a fully dimensional character and still eating his action cake. Past runs of the book ran more as a pure action book, but this one mixes in strong character work that gives the action meaning. Even when the action is itself kind of meaningless, see his fights with both Batman and Superman in the early run of this book, there is always a reason for it. The quality of the action also gets a boosts from Larry Hama doing layouts and artists like Carlo Pagulayan.
Priests fascination with the emotional dysfunction within Slade has led to the larger Wilson clan joining the book, and eventually his own proper superhero squad Defiance, turning it into the superhero equivalent of Arrested Development. All Slade wants is to spend time with the kids he has left and be “good” Dad. How he goes about doing that is, perhaps, a bit much. Such as the case early on in the series when he takes his daughter Rose on a road trip after someone puts a hit on her, a contract he initiated. His relationship with his son Joey isn’t the best either, but they’re working on it. All of them are working on trying to be better people, or, at least, not kill each other at dinner. And then there is his ex-wife Adeline Kane Wilson who always seems to be trying to kill him. By turning the title into more of a family drama, with superhero elements, Priest is able to manufacture understandable emotions and circumstance with a bit more flair. Who knew the best thing about “Deathstroke” wouldn’t be the action but all the family drama.

This full throated investigation of Slade is structured around Priests episodic and often non-linear style. This makes the book a bit dense and narratively confusing at times, much like an espionage story is full cloak and dagger antics, when read as a whole everything comes together in some surprising and impactful ways. The episodic style, with plenty of ironic titles, shows off Priests skill at writing 3-5 pages scenes, or less, that can stand on their own or be strung together to tell an overall story. This isn’t as dense or formally driven as say The Wicked + The Divine.”
The creative team on “Deathstroke” take its lead seriously without removing the more eccentric elements of the character or world, often using them to fuel this super heroic family drama. How would Slade Wilson react to spending time in the speedforce is explored just as vigorously as how he would defeat the Dark Knight or Man of Steel.
Another feather in the series cap is how self-contained it is. “Deathstroke” is approaching 40 issues, and barring a crossover with the Titans books for “The Lazarus Contract” everything you need to read is found in the series proper. “The Lazarus Contract” is really a story about Slade in the end and key to the emotional turn the books takes after issue #21. By comic superhero comic standards this book is such an easy read.

The realization that we're within a hair's breadth away from THAT chapter got me like that scene in Arrested Devlopement where Tobias is crying in the shower while biting some soap. I'M NOT READY, FAM!!!
I FEEL YOU!!! 😭
But 132 won't be adapted this season.
Maybe not even this year...
So there comes prolonged suffering for the fandom
I wish yall the strength of Levi, because that man is unbreakable (even when he breaks, he picks himself up!)
