So... Uh- I may have had Mythos & Magic thoughts-

*drops tiny headcanon/fic of what I think happened while leaving the labyrinth*

Spoilers for today's Mythos & Magic session 9/8/24

Mark almost wanted to cry when learning that his friends, his party- *𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚙𝚎𝚘𝚙𝚕𝚎 𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚏𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚕𝚢* has been lying to him since they first met.. He understood why- and didn't blame them for not telling him,

He wasn't angry that they never said anything, he could never be angry at them.. (Not for this at least)

If anything, beneath the shock- he felt grateful that they told him.. he just felt like an idiot for not putting the pieces together.. of course none of them were human.. For crying out loud- Arlos and Champion even had the same voice!

He held back his tears, not wanting to make his loved ones feel bad, but the sting and the pain of realizing that Arlos- the guy he had been crushing on and wanting to get to know- 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚑𝚘𝚛𝚜𝚎 𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚋𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝚏𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚍..

Mark held back his tears, not wanting for Arlos- Champion? Whoever he was to see him cry.. Not wanting 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖 to see him cry..

Walking behind everyone else, Markos allowed himself to let out a few quiet tears, he let himself hate the fact that he was being an idiot for- gods know how long...

When Mark had wiped away the tears, he noticed Arlos looking back at him. Everyone engrossed in their own conversation or healing whatever wounds they had left to realize the human- (𝚝𝚑𝚎 *𝚘𝚗𝚕𝚢* 𝚑𝚞𝚖𝚊𝚗) was walking slower than them..

Mark could feel his legs turn to jelly, and he stopped, watching as everyone else walked ahead..

Except.. For Arlos, Who stopped just a moment after Mark had.

The pair watched as everyone slowly walked ahead, while he and Arlos stood for a moment just.. staring at each other

Arlos opened his mouth a few times, seemingly wanting to say *something* but not knowing how- so instead, held out a hand.

Mark couldn't help the few tears that fell as he took Arlos's hand. He tried to say something- only for Arlos to pull him into a hug.

Despite how much he felt like an idiot- Mark hugged him back, squeezing as tight as he could- trying to convey without words that he wasn't upset at them, and that he just wanted them to stop lying...

Barely speaking above a whisper- Mark asked if they would tell him everything from now on... Only for Arlos to quickly nod his head, and carefully bury it in Marks shoulder.

"Everything.. I promise..."

Mark couldn't help but believe him.

It may seem foolish, but Mark believed them without a second thought..

"I'll explain everything that's mine to share.. If you're still...wanting to go get dinner?"

Mark let out a small laugh, and quickly nodded "I-I think I'd love that.."

The pair ended up letting each other go, but keeping their hands intertwined as they caught up to the party.

Do you know who I'm thinking about? Mark the NPC from Mythos and Magic. And how fucking devastating of betrayal he must be feeling right now. His 3 best friends and the horse that he cares about have been lying to him. He can't even trust Arlos/Champion right now cause he doesn't know if the feelings Arlos are feeling are real or he's being played just to keep him nieve. It does put things into perspective for him, but he's kicking himself for being so blind and wondering what he's done wrong not to earn the trust of his best friends.

Theory on what the snake bros in mythos and magic campaigns backstory is: the siblings are the last survivors of their clan of Gorgons. Mal was assigned as the protector for Peri when he was born, when it was found out he was “blessed” to be an oracle. So at first Mal didn’t like not being like siblings and felt like a babysitter for their younger siblings. But when their home was attacked it changed to must keep him safe hoping someone in the clan was alive. This made Mal very snappy at new people at first, (since they wouldn’t have the rings yet. Then they met Rai and Arlos. Who Peri was a fan of immediately. Finally having others to rely on Mal could let his guard down and trust others, but now needing an outlit realized they had a pension for shiny things.

Just watched most recent mythos and magic vod. Jesus whatever is going on between Arlos and Marcos is very funny. Very tempted to subscribe to Heyhays Patreon to watch the downtime session. If anyone has watched it, would you recommend it?

9. Favorite lore dragon you own?

This is a difficult question but I gotta say its a tie between Selenay and Morrigan with Nightengale and Zazsek as close runner ups.

10. Favorite breeding pair?

Out of my lore hatchery: lowkey Paradigm and Tempest, i love their dynamic as sort of chaotic magic users running rampant in the woods on some Hollywood-esque fantasy whirlwind romance

Out of my whole lair: Sergei and Fen they’re just a close of cozy geezers running a doctor’s office/apothecary and trying to take care of their weird tiny daughter

11. Favorite dragon of x breed?

Fae: Decan!! my beach boy!!

Guardian: is was and probably always will be Chronicle

Mirror: not counting the mirrors I’ve already mentioned it’s gotta be Beatrix

Tundra: Arlo hands down he was one of if not the first tundra i ever got, i grabbed him off the auction house because he was so gaudy and terrible looking i had to have him

Pearlcatcher: again discounting Morrigan because she’s already been mentioned, probably Curio

Ridgeback: it’s gotta be Lorelai

Snapper: Hekate is the first snapper i ever loved and she might very well be the last one

Spiral: Mythos will always have a special place in my heart as my resident slut for all things glittery

Skydancer: my living numbers station Delaney of course

Bogsneak: i think i’d have to say Carlise, something about him being a “”dangerous swindling criminal”” while also being a complete coward amuses me

Imperial: hhhnnn such a hard choice i love a lot of my imps. i think i have to tie between Camden, Zenith, and Phosphene

Nocturne: Nettle!! i love my sweet flower girl

Wildclaw: its a tie between my two one-lady-mobs Paisley and Jinx

Coatl: its a close call but Voltaire wins out since he was my first coatl

Gaoler: probably Damocles, he’s such a big softie i cant not smile

12. Oldest dragon you own?

Epitaph is my oldest dragon both in lore (on a technicality of being a reaper and therefore ageless) and in website age, he hatched 4 years ago on Mar 09, 2015

I think Markos *definitely* rambled to Champion about how hot Arlos was, (before the race) and I will stick by that.

Mark, grooming "champions" maine: And he was like- *so tall* he kinda looks like you, same white coat a-and like **really** pretty hair- His name is Arlos and I think he was flirting with me- okay but I was also kinda flirting back but also Oh my gods Champion you should have *seen* them they're so hot!

Champion, who *is* Arlos: *blushing* R-Really? Man oh nooo, I wish I had seen them.. Lucky youuuuu..

Mark: Gods, I never realized how pretty centaurs are, I really hope he's single.

Arlos- who's face is basically a tomato: I-I think you should ask him out, he seems like a cool person.

Mark, now braiding Champions hair: I *really* want to- but if someone you just met came up to you and asked you out, would *you* immediately say yes??

Arlos, whispering: if it was you I would-

Mark: what'd you say Champion?

Arlos: Nothing!

so... Ive been rewatching Mythos and Magic after HeyHay's world lore stream and now have headcanons :D

-The first time Marcos heard Arlos talk- he assumed that someone was fucking with him at first, but then respectively freaked out at Arlos talking.

-After the group hug, Alastor tried going up to Mark but ended up getting vaguely threatened by Mal and Rai.

-Marks love language is physical touch- Whenever he sees one of his friends upset or having a rough day, He'll go up to them and ask if they want a hug or if they wanna talk about it. Arlos feels bad that they can't hug back, but still appreciate the hugs.

- Perry, Mark and Arlos can't cook for shit, it's always up to either Mal or Rai to cook

- Once when Rai was molting, Mark found one of his feathers and decided to keep it in his bag.

- Speaking of molting- Mal and Arlos tend to help Rai with their wings while Perry distracts Mark, Most times they either go to the nearest town to buy food, or take a walk and just ramble to each other while the others help Rai.

- The party dog piles anytime they're camping or far away from civilization- Mark always falls asleep first and ends up using Arlos as a pillow (No they don't mind)

- Rai is actually really good at drawing, and whenever they need to do something with their hands- he'll end up drawing whatever pops into their mind. (Would they show the rest of the party? If theyre proud of their work- then yes! But everything else is either discarded or put in their bag and forgotten about)

- Mark braids flowers into the party's hair. (don't question the fact that Perry and Mal don't technically have hair- it's fineeee)

- Mark is surprisingly good with animals. Most animals will just look at him and go "hm, thats so friend shaped" and walk up to him. It happened so much that the party is slightly less convinced that he's human.

- Mark 2 and their mother watched the chariot race- and cheered on the party from far away.

- Everyone in the party has slight nightmares of their time with Elias.

...I am now realizing after writing this that about 85% of this post is just abt Mark.

Listen- I have *a lot* of thoughts and feelings abt Mark, I love him so dearly.

Mythos and magic theory:

Rai was kicked out of his flock for not wanting to hurt passing by human travelers. And Arlos is the one who found him bloody and beaten. The two had traveled together for a while before meeting the snake siblings. Hence why Rai is so comfortable sharing a nest with Arlos.
