At that stage, Kohli averages nearly 55 and had just crossed 7,000 runs. Every record in the book appeared to be there for the taking. Fast forward five years and, as he prepares to celebrate turning 36 during the Mumbai Test, Kohli averages 48. His last 58 innings have seen just two three-figure knocks. Had he been a tyro making his way in the game rather than a legend with an immense back catalogue, the axe would have fallen long ago. Rohit is no different. Having had to wait so long for his red-ball breakthrough with India, he was never going to accumulate Kohli-like numbers anyway. But 30 Tests into his career, exactly five years ago, he averaged a healthy 48. After twin failures in the Pune Test and five months after turning 37, that has now dropped below 43. Cricket news-Arjun Tendulkar got his maiden IPL wicket

Arjun Tendulkar has revealed the conversation he had with his father after leading his team Mumbai Indians to victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023. This match will be memorable for Arjun because in this match he got the first wicket of his IPL career. Arjun, 23, bowled brilliantly in the 20th over to get his first IPL wicket on 18th April 2023. During this, his father, Sachin Tendulkar, was also present in the dressing room. This cricket news has gone viral and won the hearts of cricket lovers. 

The Hyderabad team was chasing a target of 193 runs in this match and needed 20 runs in the last over to win. Arjun sent Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the pavilion in this over. Along with this, Mumbai also won this match by 14 runs.

Talking about his game after the match, Arjun said, "Obviously it was great to get my first IPL wicket. I just had to focus on what we had in hand, what the plan was and how to execute it." Our plan was to bowl only outside the off-stump, so that the batsmen try to play big shots towards the long end of the ground.

It was further added by Arjun that he loves bowling and is happy to bowl anytime he is told to by the captain. The team's plan is just tried to be stuck to by him, and his best is given. Arjun Tendulkar registers in IPL auction after Mumbai debut

Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun Tendulkar has registered for the Indian Premier League (IPL) players’ auction scheduled to be held on February 18 in Chennai. He has a base price of Rs 20 lakh.

The left-arm seamer made his debut for Mumbai senior team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament last month and picked two wickets in two matches.

Arjun took one for 33 in four overs against Puducherry in Mumbai’s six-wicket loss and one for 34 in three overs in Mumbai’s eight-wicket loss.

The Syed Mushtaq Ali T20s were the 21-year-old’s first games in competitive cricket after July-August 2019 when he represented the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Young Cricketers.

The online performance has already grabbed a lot of attention from the fans of the Bollywood actors who cannot wait to watch their idols perform. Not only will the Bollywood stars be a part of this, but even the Hollywood stars have decided to be a part of this wonderful initiative. Personalities including Will Smith, Jonas Brothers and Bryan Adams will be joining the concert to help raise more funds.

  Financial funds will also be supported by the musical wing. The “I for India” online concert will receive contributions from musicians with their amazing performances. As per the latest statement from BCCI, the highest reserve price is Rs 2 Crore which is slotted to two Indian players- Kedar Jadhav as well as Harbhajan Singh. Eight International/ overseas cricketers are also included in this bracket which includes- Moeen Ali, Steve Smith, Sam Billings, Jason Roy, Glenn Maxwell, Shakib Al Hasan, Liam Plunkett and Mark Wood.

12 players are included in the IPL auction 2021 list in the Rs 1.5 crore base price. While, there are no Indian players making into the list, in the Rs 1 crore slot, 11 cricketers are included with two Indian players- Hanuman Vihari and Umesh Yadav.

From superstar cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli to boxing and tennis legends Mary Kom and Sania Mirza, sports figures are doing whatever they can and donating as much they can to help the country limit the spread of the deadly virus.

Young Indian golfer Arjun Bhati is the latest sportsperson to join the bandwagon with the teenage sensation donating Rs 4.30 lakh towards the cause. But the 15-year-old has gone a step further and made the biggest sacrifice that an athlete could ever think of making to raise this money.

Bhati has sold all the trophies, which includes 3 world golf championship titles and national championship, to raise money for the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund which Narendra Modi has set up to provide relief to the affected people.

Bhati, who hails from Greater Noida, revealed that he sold all of his trophies to his relatives and friends of his parents to raise money.

“As you all know, our country is going through a tough time, a difficult situation has arisen. I would like you all to come forward in helping the country. Do contribute in whatever capacity you can.

“In the last 8 years, I had won 102 trophies, I gave them to get some money and now I have contributed Rs 4 lakh and 30 thousand to the PM-CARES Fund. I would like everyone to utilise this time and follow self-isolation,” Bhati said.

“I wanted to do my bit in India’s fight against Covid-19. Since I have no earning of my own, I decided to sell my trophies. Trophies can be won later, but I can’t sit idle when my nation is in need of funds to fight the deadly disease.

“My relatives and friends of my parents have bought them. Though the trophies are still at my home. I will send them across once the lockdown is lifted,” Bhati added.

Total number of coronavirus cases in India stands at 4,789 with 124 deaths, as of 8.30 AM on April 8, 2020. 353 patients have recovered from the virus.
