I wish backgrounds gave you more dialogue options and such. Like Ari is a noble from Baldur’s Gate!!! She and Wyll probably met when they were younger, before he was exiled!!! They should recognize each other! But alas.

Downloaded some CC mods and naturally had to create a new Tav. Introducing Ari Ashbloom, a monk of noble heritage who's very confused about everything going on but she gets to punch people and the wizard and cleric are cute so she's making do.

And her guardian, taking the appearance of her older sister Lillia, a cleric of Lathander. This will definitely not make certain things were and complicated for her later on. Not at all.

I’m also thinking about Ari finding out about Cazador. She pushed into Astarion’s mind the night of the Vampire Reveal and in those memories, got a flash of Cazador’s eyes. I think, however vaguely, she recognizes them, though it bothers her for a day or two before she finally asks Astarion who exactly his master was.

And she’s so incredulous about it! She’s definitely met Cazador once or twice, given the mingling of the rich, and she assumed that he was just weird because living as long as full-blooded elves do makes you weird! But no, he’s been a vampire lord all this time. That dialogue option you get in Act 3, about Cazador’s gothic monstrosity of a palace being inhabited by vampires this whole time? Yeah, that’s probably the third thing Ari says on the matter.

(And then, later on, once she knows more about the torture Astarion was subject to, she lays awake thinking about how if only she knew. How she could’ve brought her family’s might and the light of Lathander down on Cazador, saved Astarion, saved his siblings. If only she knew.)

Anyway I’ve decided that Wyll and Ari were actually really close friends before Wyll’s exile. Used to spar together, spent all the stuffy parties they had to attend together. Two very kind, loyal to their people, down to earth people amongst the apathy of the rest of the Upper City. Ari was… very heartbroken when she heard news of Wyll leaving the city.
