No ID needed, just wanted to show some photos sent my way from somewhere in Texas about a month ago
(I love being the person everyone sends bug pictures to)
They are beautiful! Yellow garden spiders are a favorite. And I also love being the person everyone sends bug pictures to :)

a new Argiope species for me, but one that may be familiar to folks in the Americas. the Banded Garden Spider is native to North and South America, but is now also found in parts of Africa, Europe, and Australasia.
Banded Garden Spider, female (Argiope trifasciata).

Argiope florida is a large orbweaver endemic to dry scrubland habitats in Florida and a few other parts of the southeast. Like several other Argiope species, they have silvery coloration that reflects solar radiation and prevents the spider from overheating while sitting exposed in its web.
They were so abundant in this scrubland on the Lake Wales sand ridge in central Florida that it was sometimes hard to move around because their webs blocked every gap in the oak shrubs.

The yellow garden spider holds spiritual significance for many people. Regarded as a symbol of diversity and abundance, it represents the interconnectedness of life. By weaving intricate webs, these spiders create complex patterns that can inspire you to embrace your own unique abilities.
Yellow garden spiders also embody the essence of opportunity. When they spin their webs, they’re setting the stage for capturing an array of different prey. This highlights the importance of being open to various opportunities in your life. Similarly, you should strive to create your own “web” that allows you to seize different possibilities.
As a totem of prosperity, the yellow garden spider serves as a reminder to work towards your goals with dedication. Their seemingly effortless web weaving symbolizes how discipline and consistency can lead to achievement. By staying focused on a single purpose, you too can reach great heights.

A beautiful lady and her beautiful children! This is a female argiope argentata (pictured here eating a mealworm I offered to her) that lives in my grandma's garden. She survived the loss of a leg and then a violent storm so I was thrilled to see that no only she's thriving but her babies were born today, may they go on to live their best spider lives 💚

College me was so deeply unconcerned with things like "manageable chord progressions" and "spaces to breathe" (lol who needs those). This one's a doozy to play/sing but it's still fun! :)

@pineapplequeen13 submitted: Hello! No ID necessary, my boyfriend just snapped this really nice picture of a banana spider he saw while he was working. I thought I'd share. ☺️🕷️💕
I've never heard this species called a banana spider! Normally that's Trichonephila clavipes in the US. But common names are funny like that, there's lots of crossover. This one is a yellow garden spider, though, Argiope aurantia. She is very fat and I love her :)

My orb weaver in my room grew old and died. It was sad, he was a very large male and for a while he was doing great, till his web got torn down by my cat. Then came a long process of trying to get him to weave somewhere safe and unbothered, and his insistence on finding the absolute most dangerous spot possible. Still, whenever there was a web, he got watered and fed well.
Then he stopped weaving. Took down his web, crawled to the corner. Didn't try to spin another. And recently he died. I feel consolation in the fact I fed his body to my vivarium, and sadness that I feel I failed him.
I caught another orb weaver, this time a tan one instead of a marbled orb weaver, and goodness is she pretty!! She spun a web immediately and I just gave her two flies ☺️
