It's hard to explain to people who haven't lived through it, but back in the 90's when consoles were booming and first world countries had easy access and spendable funds to the real original deal (since, well, they were very much the target market, and the problem starts when people from these countries cannot imagine what *not* being the target market is like) due to distribution rights and pricing, places like Argentina almost entirely depended on console clones:
