these are organised roughly by how much i'm itching to play them!! most muses have at minimum a slice of life and a genre (supernatural, sci-fi, horror, etc) verse. the first verse listed is their main / default and any others are alternates / by request.

i am open to all kinds of plots, though as ever my preference is romantic connections! currently only looking to ship with men because i'm too gay to function. the ideas listed are just some starting points.

kamran mustafa (riz ahmed) is a softhearted, hardheaded man of the people ⇾ slice of life: formerly homeless, now running an unofficial halfway house in the poorest part of a city, he's all about grassroots action and giving everything he's got to those in need ⇾ dystopian future: an important figure in the rebellion against the elitist powers that be, often throwing himself directly into harm's way for the good of others & ideas: friends to lovers with another grungy weirdo, opposites attract with some corporate dbag

orion kemper (joshua bassett) is a cocky genius with too much money and zero self-restraint ⇾ slice of life: after graduating high school at 14 & college at 18, ri sold an app for a stupid amount of money and has spent the last 4 years dicking around ⇾ supernatural: born werewolf with a permanent sneer at bitten wolves, set to inherit alpha status of his family pack one day (if he doesn't get himself killed first) & ideas: friends to inappropriately cuddle, older men for him to top, someone unimpressed with him

lysander crawshaw (archie renaux) is jaded, paranoid proof that curiosity killed the cat ⇾ supernatural: still recovering from being possessed by belias, a greater demon, lys struggles with the lines between reality, dream and hallucination ⇾ slice of life: raised in a cult, lys brings with him a truckload of trauma, a sprinkling of self-hatred, and a dollop of dang adorable & ideas: someone who is his anchor to reality, someone with a similar experience, someone he can start over with

tiberius cooper (rudy pankow) is brash and loud, but in a cornered animal kind of a way ⇾ horror i: the "final girl" of a group of friends (including his twin brother) who were targeted by a serial killer while on vacation, tib sleeps sitting up holding a knife ⇾ horror ii: after his identical twin brother livestreamed a string of violent crimes (think 'spree'), tib has all but become a recluse for his own safety ⇾ slice of life: having never really recovered from the sudden death of his twin brother, tib covers up his debilitating anxiety by being the most obnoxious guy in the room & ideas: someone who knew him before everything (esp. exes of his twin), someone from a support group, some morbid weirdo who is drawn to the darkness in him now

elliot hawthorne (charlie hunnam) is a soft, sweet nerd who loves to take care of people ⇾ slice of life: a film professor who was recently dumped after five years with his ex, ell's students have been complaining lately that they'd like to watch something other than dardenne brothers movies, thanks & ideas: student or former student, friend who always thought he could do better than his ex, co-worker

beatrix calhoun (marisa tomei) is a trainwreck in motion, barely keeping up appearances ⇾ celebrity: a well-known musician who has been active since her early twenties, beatrix is still in love with songwriting and touring, leaving no room for anything else ⇾ slice of life: an artist who manages to charm the pants (often literally) off various wealthy / connected people to keep her afloat & ideas: fan, young musician who looks up to her, touring band member, ex who is also in the industry, producer, step-son, kid's friend

dandelion corrigan (tom hardy) is a cynical witch who believes his family is cursed ⇾ supernatural: an actual witch, with an actual curse, piecing together an existence in the woods making herbal remedies and mild infatuation potions for the locals ⇾ slice of life: an oddball from a pagan-ish family who makes his living selling things from his little farm & making ointmints, certain he'll never be happy & ideas: let's break this curse yo

ava blake (sarah michelle gellar) is an enigma at best and a nuisance at worst ⇾ espionage: a well-trained assassin / spy, ava has discovered a nefarious plot within her organisation that is no good very bad ⇾ slice of life: a single mom very much inspired by lorelai gilmore, ava runs a cafe / bakery / bookstore called the nook and has no time for your nonsense & ideas: rival spy / double agent, normal guy caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, another single parent

athanasios wilde (ben barnes) is very, very bored, to the point of insanity ⇾ supernatural: an immortal shapeshifter, ath's lived hundreds of lives in hundreds of bodies ⇾ crime: a significant general in his father's crime family, ath is a particularly unsettling kind of ruthless & ideas: another cursed immortal or someone seeking to become immortal, unsuspecting normie drawn into his bullshit

peregrine talbot (brenton thwaites) is extremely polite, but probably making fun of you ⇾ supernatural: a fae prince, beholden to the 'seelies can't lie' rule, perry is fascinated by mortals, occasionally living among them ⇾ slice of life: trust fund kid with a scholar's mind, perry is actually nice, as long as you don't interrupt him & ideas: mortal who falls into the fae realm, supernatural creature who needs his help, classmate from college, friend from the wrong side of the tracks

taliesin rafferty (darren barnet) is me proving trans guys can be fuckboy dbags too ⇾ slice of life: tal vibes are scrolling grindr while he's on a date with you, sneaking out while you're in the shower, pretending to forget your name so you don't get attached & ideas: best friends with feelings, the guy who sees through his bullshit, the guy he chases long enough to fall for

phoenix dawson (mason gooding) is a genuine, no shit, actual nice guy with no trauma ⇾ slice of life: a dance teacher with a heart of gold, nix believes in random acts of kindness, smiling at strangers, and telling the people you love how much you love them loudly and often & ideas: long term boyfriend / husband for domestic cuteness, trainwreck best friend he's always there to pick up when he falls, guy who bullied him in high school

edoardo "eddie" mancini (frank grillo) is the typical salt of the earth every man, doing his best to get by ⇾ slice of life: after the tragic death of his wife, eddie is finally forced to confront the secret he's always kept about his sexuality and hopefully figure out some kind of happiness (while his kids [24 - 38] mock him for being uncool) ⇾ any other genre: bewildered mechanic stumbles into supernatural shit / ends up in the apocalypse / some other shit, chaos ensues & ideas: someone from his past he once hooked up with, a friend of one of his kids, please lord let him get picked up at like a farmer's market or some shit, customer who leaves his number, barista who writes flirty messages on his cup, etc

We focus on traditional and folkloric witchcraft, animism, chaos magic, secular witchcraft, magical herbs and plants, queer witchcraft, tarot & Divination, witchcraft & magic in politics, history, culture, and social & racial justice,  and aspects of non-Wiccan forms of witchcraft, magic, and paganism.

Pre-Covid the Portland Button Works primarily made custom pinback button. Selling zines and books was secondary and more of a hobby for me to share things I’d like to read. Right now our business is pivoting to focus on books and zines that people can read in the comfort and safety of their own homes. Some items are from well known witchcraft and occult publisher and some are titles from small publishers with interesting items I don’t see in other shops but I’m excited to elevate.

honestly,     i know i technically have nothing to complain about    (  steady,   well paying job,    a safe space where i’m not being hurt,   food on the table and a bf and cat who love me   )     but the whole state of the world has been taking a toll on me lately,     i’m not going to lie.    i guess it has its ups and downs     -      i’ll get there.     always.     but that doesn’t mean that it’s smooth sailing at the moment. 

2. if you were someone else’s muse, how would your mun describe you?

orion this question is just    ...     unfair   ?     i guess if i was someone else’s muse that would mean that they’d like me enough to put effort into me      -       probably aloof,     hardworking,    mentally unstable,    kind     (   maybe   ?     )       putting the needs of others before herself    (   absolutely   )  

3. if you could only recommend me three songs, movies or books to get to know you better, which would they be?

i’m going to go with songs for this one because songs are just easier for me but uhh  :    in the blood    -     john mayer   (   i mean those lyrics ?     welp   )  farther along  -   josh garrels   (   religion mention for this one tbh   )   february song   -   josh groban    (   and no i won’t elaborate   )

4. what was it that first inspired you to write? what inspires you today?

tbh i can’t really remember.    i think i have been writing for most of my childhood.    actually,   i found a little notebook about a week ago that had my writing in it from when i was  nine.     but then again,    most of my childhood and teenage years are a blur so i genuinely have no idea.    i think my greatest inspiration has always been to create a little bit of magic     -      a kinder world for me to live in.     i want to create,    to build and to leave,    and i think that i can do that through writing. 

5. if you had to put together a team of 5 fictional characters plus yourself to save the world, who would you choose and why?

gilderoy lock/hart,  archie ken/nedy,   pavel che/kov,    penelope gar/cia   (  from crim/inal mi/nds  )    and  jask/ier   (  from the witcher  )     because i genuinely think those five are great characters,    while also still being incredibly kind to the world    (   yes the jury is still out on gil but he gets a pass for now  )    and when i think of saving the world    ;     i don’t think about kicking ass or being physically strong or having cool powers.    i think about being kind,   spreading kindness and hope and uplifting people.   we change the world like that.    

6. what is your favorite fictional trope? least favorite?

i don’t know if this classifies as a trope but     sign me up    for a good anti-hero.     especially if this anti-hero functions  /  can be regarded as a mirror image of a typical hero character.     that’s the good stuff.    i demand a direct iv line of that content.     i’m over love triangles tbh.    i’m sorry,  but it’s the year 2021 and i’ve had   enough   ! 

7. what unpopular opinion do you have toward the rpc or tumblr?

how long do you have   ?       i think my biggest   ‘unpopular’  opinion would be that we’re here to have fun and do our thing      -      elitism on this site is so dumb and it should be eradicated.    also,    kill the idea that someone can’t be proud of their own work.    be as proud as you want over your craft.  it’s yours,   and you absolutely get to stick feathers up your butt if you want.    you work hard.    you deserve it   !

8. if you could spend one day with your main muse (or your muse of choice), what would that be like?

i’d like to spend a day with gil and    no good will come from that.    

9. if you found yourself in one fictional universe of your choosing, which would it be and why?

lord of the rings.     absolutely.    yeah man i want to get made into a kebab by an orc or something.   i just want to look at dwarves first okay      -     i wouldn’t last a full day in that universe but it will be   so worth it    !     

10. a character you’ve always wanted to write?

at this moment i think i’m writing all the characters i’ve ever wanted to write    ?        if i consider writing them,    they’re already added.     that’s how it works.    that’s the tea.    that’s how we’re going to roll on this blog.    i have zero shame left.    this is it baby and you signed up for this. 

11. what are five things that spark joy for you?

my friends.   my cat.    a good sea shanty    (   don’t call me out i will do it myself   )    a good home-cooked meal.    the smell of freshly cut grass.

Kitten weekend turned into kittens weekend! We finally brought home Archimedes (Archie for short, the orange one) and Orion the Hunter (the gray one). The boys are settling in very nicely. As a new cat mom, I'm 100% not embarrassed about the obscene number of photos I've taken of these two munchkins in the last 24 hours. They're just so darned cute!

The game didn’t hold much information compared to the Kickstarter itself, but there are still many things to note! Click here to check out the previous notes from the Kickstarter!

- The LLC developing the game is called NEO-C Productions, a surprise to no one if you’ve seen some of his older work where he would use that title. - The game can be controlled by either a keyboard of a game controller, though the controller is preferred. (Sidenote: not all the controls are listed correctly. For keyboard, the Spacebar is used for interacting with characters/objects, and the Esc button is the only way to back out of the menu - the right arrow key is an error.) - If you do not attack within 30 seconds, you will automatically Defend. - You can guard enemy attacks by pressing down before they land. - If you choose Neutral, a random elemental move is chosen. - If a party member dies, once the battle is over they’ll come back to life with 1HP. - If all of your party members die, it simply says “GAME OVER” and you restart from the first sector with all previous enemies defeated. However, your health will be back to what it was before your last fight. - Here are all of the known attacks! Alpha's moves Neutral Humanoid Brawler Orion Discus: Throw an energy disc at an enemy. Dumplin's moves Neutral Morphological Spellcaster - Strikes with a big punch. - Apocalypse Pose: Psychs himself up and raises his Attack Power by 1 and Magic by 2. - Last Blast: Releases a yellow light bomb that affects all party members. - Pizza Slicer: Throws slices of pizza at the opponent. - Flashes a bright light, harms and can paralyze all party members. - Father-Daughter Last Blast (Infernal): A spirit bomb explosion that detonates on all players.

Puddin's moves Neutral Morphological Brawler - Strikes with a flurry of punches and kicks. - Explosive Orb: Shoots a spirit bomb at the target. - Flying Drop-Kick: Flies into the target and kicks them. - Moonstone Barrage (Crystal): Shoots rocks at all party members.

Skeight's moves Technical Humanoid Brawler - Strikes with breakdancing kicks. - Fabulous Flip: Performs a trick to raise his Attack Power by 3 and Speed by 1. - Electro-yo (Technical): Throws his bladed yoyo at all party members.

Archy's moves Neutral Humanoid Weaponary - Strikes with his bow. - Star Arrow (Neutral): Shoots a normal arrow at a foe. - Light/Fire/Ice/Poison Arrow: Shoots an elemental arrow that is strong against the element you chose that can engage its status effect upon impact.

Rockoon's moves Natural Animalistic Brawler - Strikes with his claws and tail. - Bomb-Rock Rush: Throws a barrage of rock bombs at one party member. - Bomb-Rock Frenzy: Throws a barrage of rock bombs at all party members.

Ballug's moves Natural - Rev-Up: Rolls into a ball and increases Speed by 2. - Rollover: Revs up and attacks an enemy.

Foliroach's moves Natural - Strikes at the foe.

16-Beet's moves Natural - Strikes with its stinger. - Stinger Storm: Shoots stingers at all party members. - Poison Stinger: Shoots a stinger coated in fiery poison that can curse the opponent.

Not many items were available, but they are: Crimson Fruit: Heals 25 HP. - 10 count Heavenly Chime: Revive a fallen party member with half health. - 5 count Mana Twinkle: Restores 25% of the party’s MP. - 5 count

- If you do not attack within 30 seconds, you will automatically Defend. - You can guard enemy attacks by pressing down before they land. - If you choose Neutral, a random elemental move is chosen. - If a party member dies, once the battle is over they’ll come back to life with 1HP. - If all of your party members die, it simply says “GAME OVER” and you restart from the first sector with all previous enemies defeated. However, your health will be back to what it was before your last fight.

Okay, I think that’s more than enough notes for one small chunk of gameplay! Wonder what other things lie in store as the game development progresses!

1. I am very very interested in Winged Hussars as an aesthetic. I am actually writing a story where a sci-fi future Winged Hussar is the main hero.

2. I have two cats called Archie and Larkie. Their names are actually Archimedes Luna Diana Jiji and Larkon. I was nine-ish when I gave Archie his name.

3. I used to roleplay a post-apocalyptic version of Liechtenstein from Hetalia when I was in my early teens. It was hilariously awful.

4. I usually have 10+ things checked out from the library at once. The online ordering thing the library has is the best thing ever.

5. My favorite ship is Orion/Lightray

6. Someday I want to be a contortionist. I can already do some things with my hands and fingers that cause some people to freak out.

Seon Adventures Episode 19: The Darksbane Army

Sooooooooooooooooooooo. It’s been a wee bit. Sorry guys, shenanigans were happening that prevented us from doing usual gaming time for like 5 weeks @ u @ But we finally had our 19th Seon session this past Wed.

The party, after some short travel, are lead to the section of Crystalgate, relegated to The Darksbane Army, a Guild of Warriors and Mages, dedicated to combating evil in it’s many forms. There the group part ways with the half-elven bard, who goes on her own business, hopefully to be able to take her mother out of town for safety.

The Darksbane Camp area is enormous. Architecture is unique in it’s own way, seeing as everything’s diverce, but this is really more reds with the windows and door ledges and a darkish purple brick. With the variety of beings that come and go in Crystalgate in general, makes sense, but especially as the party sees a the commonality of Orcs and Half-Orcs and Golliath, among others as members, passing through.

Before entering one of the buildings for directions, Luctan asks Belli to message Jayne on any pointers, how they should behave in there, etc.

Hi, it’s Belli and the Gang, we Just got to The Darksbane Army Place? Do you have any tips? Xoxox “ asks Belli. And in turn...

“Hm, shit, that was quick. Great. What do you mean by tips? You wanted to talk to them about the end of the world shit, go talk to whoever’s in charge, right?”  comes Jayne’s answer. A very valid answer.

Very valid suggestion.

After a motivational speech, the party enter the non-barracks building. Once inside, the vibe of a fighter-heavy building strikes everyone as between the center pathway of the main hall there are pits of sand with a variety of people from many walks of life in the middle of their training and sparring sessions.

(The presence of all this sand kinda ushered in the joke of  “OH MY GOD,WHAT ARE ALL THESE TABAXI DOING HERE?!”)

Standing, arms crossed with a huge double axe is a orc/half-orc dude. Softness to his face, not as big tusk, graying hair and stuff suggests the latter of racial closeness. Belli approaches the man and greets him.

“Hi, big dude with the axe! Hey, how’re you doing?!”  and Burk joins in from the back with;

“We want to axe you a question.”

This prompts the Horc to examine the party. Between the toothless  puppy level of threatening on the Half-Orc Bard and the overall jovial demeanor of the rest of the gang? His shoulders relax a bit. “Can I help you? Are you lost.”

We explain why we’re here, who pointed us from Sa Doma and why we’re looking for people in charge. The mention of Jayne’s name immediatelly clicks in place for the would-be bouncer and he leads us to a staircase, to the next part of our journey.

We are lead upstairs. He knocks on a door in a particular way and a goliath man opens the door. Big Golliath (OOC we learn his name is Grod) and way in the back, behind a desk, a woman, human in her 40’s, short brown hair, crow’s feet at her eyes, her eyes - clouded with white.

Burk thanks the leader for seeing them, while Belli thanks the fellow Half-Orc, who we learn is named Terrowin. Terrowin is quite impressed by Burk, who flexes a good bit for him, earning himself a “Nice.”, given that he is basically weaponless right now, while his equipment is getting maitenance.

We find ourselves in the office of this figure of authority. One very intimidating woman, whom even though has an invisible veil covering her eyes, still follows Luctan’s body movements as he bows, introducing the group to her.

Explaining the situation and affirming our connection to Jayne, we go into detail on what we’ve learned along the way, from start to now, including the Death Cult’s activity and forced Retirement at our hand, as well as the Vision Orb, fortelling the horrific events that will transpire.

As Amelia reads:

"When the Western Fields lie sundered, blackened with ash. 

When Lake Stren turns red with the blood of your allies

When brother turns against brother in the North When the Giants of the East flee from demons bigger than they

 When the Council lie with their throats slit

 That is when I will come for you.

 And it will be the End."

With the information given over to her, she is most certainly greatful, but won’t be able to follow through with anything, until she gets confirmation of what they say by getting that ball.

While most of the group don’t know of the Commander’s identity, Amelia definitely has heard before of who heads The Darksbane Army. Who The Cultbusters have been conversing with up until now is Commander Layla Duststone. 

Laila Duststone was a captain in the war, 10 years prior. A war hero. She spent a good 2 weeks in a no-win scenario and by the end of it most of her squad, dead, but she saved so many civillians, guys. She lost her eyes in the evacuation, but through her amazing feat of bravery and coordination, Keemis gave her Blindsight.

After the end of the war she retired from active service and opened up her own private organization. The very one on whom’s grounds we stand on.

Remembering the history, Amelia instinctually looks down to the amulet of Keemis that she had received from Luctan, from the body of one of the Flurries.

Now that our schedule’s opened up some, until available, Burk asks Duststone about using the fighting pit. Strictly no killing, but definitely allowed.

“ I promise not to chop anyone’s limbs off with my bare hands. “

Before leaving Duststone’s office and the perspective of Grod and her, we get the suggestion to take refuge during the night in Keemis’ temple.

A deity joke later, involving Belli’s name leads to us giving her a proper introduction, followed by an amazing performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, which seems to impress the Commander and Grod, having not spent some time in the viscinity of some good tunes.

Someone knocks on the door and we leave on good terms with the two. We walk past the people that go in. There’s fucking uh...Bald Female Half-Elf, a Gnome with Curly Black Hair, who is short even for a gnome, a Lizardwoman and what looks to be a male human. Weird, sort of silverfish sheen to his hair. Long, black hair. And a sunburn. 5’7”

While Belli tries to play matchmaker for Mournimar, Burk looks for a sparring partner between the currently non-engaged in training guild members and his eyes stop for a second time on the human and half-elf sitting at the side.

Approaching them, Burk can find it odd that a wood elf would be in town at the time, but even so, he invites him to a one on one. It kind of... sounds like flirting, how the two converse on the bout.

The helf accepts, ultimatelly and the two take on an un-occupied space, with Mournimar trying to start bets with the human.

As initiative is taken,  Luctan and Belli give some mood stuff with Minor Illusion and Thaumaturgy.

Burk starts off with Raging, Reckless attack and, dedicated to Amelia, he proceeds to attack the Elf’s kneecaps with his fists. Each of the strikes connects, much to the pain of the sparree.

Rolling his shoulders, recognizing the kind of threat the goblin Barbarian represents, the Wood Elf reveals his nature as a Monk and  delivers a powerful Monk strike. Then another, then unleashes a Flurry of Blows on the visage and body of Burk, pushing him back some with the pure dexterity of his strikes.

He dodges one retaliatory strike by the shorter man, only to be struck with a second to the face,  impact colliding like a shockwave, causing the poor man to spit out a whole ass tooth from the punch and falling in the sand.

On the Monk’s next turn, he delivers another kick to the head, halved of course. With a stunning strike he then freezes Burk in place. Try as he might, the daring Father of Dragons is stuck.  Burk gets punched a number of times by the monk, each blow rattling the Goblin. The Monk continues to Ora-Ora-Ora the fuck out of Burk, using the fact that Burk is stunned and just hits where it hurts, but Burk still stands, while he still can!

And when he can’t hit any further, Burk’s muscles loosen their tension, just to the point where he can move again. 

Finally free, Burk, raging and ready, gets his revenge with powerful strikes to the body of the poor monk, first he knocks him down to the gut, finishing things off with a powerful bashing uppercut to the jaw.

The shot is so powerful that Luctan feels his hand and mouth move to preserve the elf’s life, just in case, casting Spare The Dying for the first time.

Through all the excitement, Mournimar notices too late that the fighter he was betting with had stolen the betted upon money.

With the fight over, Burk and the Monk show respect to one another, before we go our own ways. Burk even goes as far as to deliver the tooth as a gift to Amelia.

Ames kinda nudges him a bit. "Next time, I'll show you how a real monk fights."

As we leave, we start making our way to the first job we decided upon, the case of the screaming, coming from across the home of famed dancer, Fire Genasi Dame Carzyre Venzyre Carnove Pitra.

Along the way jokes become made at poor Mournimar’s expence, given Rimefang’s actual behavior in the Bellinas temple, for which he was blamed.

The road between the home of the star and the barracks of the DBA are 30 minutes apart.

Along the way  Ficus nudges Belli while we go past a sweet shop.  He points to a crying boy. Much to Belli’s protests, Luctan, followed by Mournimar, and Amelia, approach the lad, of Fire Genasi origin.

Through his sobs, the youngster points to a gang of kids, who he says stole his coin purse. Belli quickly goes to have a conversation with them and gives them a fairly creative roast (INCLUDING NSFW talk about one particular efl boy’s mother), gaining that purse back in a jiffe.

Amelia has a conversation with the boy in Primordial, while Mournimar bums a piece of paper and borrows a pen from Luctan, writing a note to the boy’s parents, to assure them why the boy suddenly gets extra money.

Using this opportunity, Luctan passes a piece of paper over to the kid, with the others distracted.

As they part ways, the boy 20 gold richer, he thanks Amelia, in Primordial. “It’s nice to see others like me.” he admits.

Stay safe.” is the Air Genasi’s answer.

And lead by Luck, the gang continues. “ONWARDS, to destiny!”

Before we get there, walking between the space from there and the house, Ficus taps Belli on the shoulder. He appreciates the work they’re doing here, but he is really bored. As Belli figures out. he needs to find work for himself. And he parts ways with everyone.

But not before going invisible and squeezing Luctan’s hand for a good second.

We get to the house of the Dame and Belli knocks nervously. For like a minute. It dons on everyoen that Belli is an immence fan of the lady of the house. Like, to stuttering, tongue tied proportions.

We are soon greeted at the door by the half-elven butler to the Dame, Devon, as he introduces himself. An 16 year old half-elf with sunbathed skin and bright blue eyes.

We introduce ourselves to him and our reason for coming, which clicks into place pretty fast for the youth. And he leads everyone inside, no protests regarding the animals and dragon involved.

We soon find ourselves in the living room of the Citra estate, where we wait in comfortable cushioned (rare for Crystalgate) sofas for the arrival of the star, herself. We don’t even hear her come down. Despite her wearing 5 inch heels.

Belli manages, through a stutter and shy expression, to precure an autograph (pre-signed) from the dancer as she explains the situation to us.

She’s concerned about the screaming. The screaming, which  happens every other week, seems to occur in a neighbouring house, which the group can see from her living room window. From what she herself has perceived, a priest in aquamarine robes would come in and out of the building at the late hours and as much as she’s tried to call the guards of the city to investigate, they for one reason or another had not reached any results with their efforts.

Every time the hooded man exits, he looks tired and haggared, before disappearing from view.

One possible theory involves exorcism. The house seems painfully normal, though. Nothing that would give off haunted behavior. While the Dame talks with us, Belli manages a moment alone with Devon, where she asks about his time under her service.

Fairly expected. He gets 10 gold per hour of service, gets treated like the help, etc.

We get an confirmation that Freddy Orcury exists and is in the Narrah neighbourhood as she suggests to Devon that if he gets tired working here, the performer would gladly accept him.

Belli asks about the screaming, if the elf had heard it. Late-ish at night, starts as soon as he leaves for the night. He’s never checked it himself. He’s tried to talk to the guards, but they don’t seem to care at all.

To that, Belli  suggests for Devon to meet them at Kemis’ temple later if he learns something new.

While that conversation occurs, we get a bit of info on the priest, himself. He has a goatee and brownish-black hair, under that greenish cloak he wears. There don’t seem to be exact markings, so a denomination cannot be discerned.

He seems to go in opposite directions every time he leaves. It will be almost 2 weeks in a couple of days. 2 weeks since the last scream. When those occur, it’s one night, then silence.

We have some tea, before we go

As we go, we work on a plan of action.

1st part:  Knock on the door, check if anyone’s there and what’s inside if they get let inside. 2nd part: Wait, ‘til we canfollow the guy. 

Green is often the Dyunificus color. But also the color of Dahktot. Belli suggests the person might be a Dahktot follower. We discuss this further as we go to the door, knocking on it and waiting. As the minutes pile up, no answer comes from inside.

With no answer from the inside, a new plan forms.

Belli summons Orion and turns him into a chunky ferret, directing him to go in the house through a mouse hole in the back of the building. Surprisingly, as Orion proceeds inside, he is a very stealthy little bugger, making no loud noises that can alert anyone.

Through Orion’s eyes, she can see a quaint little homestead. Fire isn’t lit (#Lit), There’s a bowl of lemons on the side of a table. They look fresh.

Investigating around, Orion notes the smell of alcohol in the barrels. Licking off some of the red dribble, he can tell it is alchohol. Nothing under the rug either. No secret door, as the stealth scratching reveals.

Checking the fireplace for anything weird, The fire was lit in the past few hours, it’s still warm in a few places and the ash is newly settled. Checking the room on the right, Belli can see a sleeping man, in bed. This man fits the vague description that the rich dancer had given previously.

Orion sniffs around and the chest he owns is locked. Both sides of the bed are disheveled and stuff.The middle door.... Inside, there’s a bathroom, there are bloody footprints. Bloody sink. Someone having evidently tried to scrub off any sign of the stuff.

Orion, under Belli’s orders, checks the toilet for any secrets. With a 21 perception, the poor ferret familiar gets a big whiff of the toilet’s secondary use...

Checking the last room, however...

There is a table with tools. A gentleman picking off dried blood from a gloved hand, sealing a barrel. He looks… Wearing a mask, a hood, armed with many a blades and the like.

He pours something into a barrel, before sealing it.

There is a bloody altar in the room.

Belli can recognize that the altar, one of the knives of this man has the symbol of Zarahn.

Under Belli’s command, Orion disappears from the building and back to her side. She briefs the party on what she and Orion had witnessed, before any further planning can be made.

After some consideration, Amelia nominates herself as the watcher, opting to skulk around the area, until the man makes his move.

While she watches outside, the rest will go to inform the Dame. From there, they’d call the guards to aid them in the capture. Then, regardless they’d go to the house.

We meet with the Dame again, Luctan watching over Amelia from the window as she hides and, well, seeks, and we tell the Fire Genasi about what’s happening in the other house.

Before we can even get our reward, though, the man in green leaves the house and goes in a direction. And Amelia decides to follow after him.

While the rest start following, Belli stays at the Dame’s for money.

Mournimar casts Pass Without A Trace on everyone that tags along...  While Luctan leaves a trail of dicks on the ground with Prestidigitation for Belli to follow so that she can rejoin the party faster. He also leaves a marking on the door for the guards to apprehand the supposed weaker person inside.

As the bunch follow far behind Amelia, who walks a couple of houses back from the hooded man, Belli gets 100 platinum (the Dame has no idea how to money. She’s as out of touch as the Gates).

She gives a talking to, of the stern kind, to Citra, so that she treats Devon better. And before she leaves, she wishes him luck: “ Good luck, Devon. Remember you’re worth more than she’s treating you. “

With that said, she runs along, following the Penile Path, until she joins the party again. She manages to bluff all the boys into believing she got 50 platinum for the job, planning something else entirely for the remaining 50, evidently.

Aptly, the stealth mission leads the group to the Platinum District. Where the man passes by a guard, an 50-something Eladrin Half-Elf woman, who Amelia tries to persuade to let her pass.

She finds no success with her persuasions, until the others join her.

We do an amazing performance. Luctan is an outraged nobleman with Belli at his side, Amelia the Bodyguard and the rest being the silent entourage. Our performance is so convincing that the woman ends up believing that Luctan is a ruthless jerk to Amelia and asks her if everything is okay.

We eventually are let to go through as Luctan joins in the waterworks, bemoaning the death of a beloved pet, having to be consoled by his lady friend, Belli.

All these shenanigans, while letting us go past, unfortunatelly seperated us from the hooded man for long enough to where we lost sight of him. not even Mournimar’s tracking skills help us find him.

But we do pretty much have the idea he’s gone into one of five temples in this district.

At this distance, the party notice how big the three spires are. They’re hecking amazing. 80ft tall. With the others admiring the scene, Amelia doesn’t fall for Belli’s lie about the 50 platinum, but keeps it to herself.

We move about the temples, the ground is concrete, much more built up. And we decide on a gameplan.

As Freddy Rogers from Scooby-Doo would say: “Let’s split up, gang!”

Each of the Cult Busters members picks a temple and go for it.

Mournimar chooses Dyunificus’ temple. Dyunificus being the Deity of  Hunting, Trade, Craftsmanship, Agriculture..

Burk takes the Temple of Keemis, Goddess of Birth, Death .

Amelia follows her heart to the temple of Honos, God of Love, Marriage, Divorce, Parenthood .

Belli, naturally, goes for Bellinas’, Goddess of War, Strategy, Discipline

This leaves Luctan to enter the temple of Fornas, God of Luck, Fate, Destiny,

In that order...

Mournimar finds himself in a familiar sight, one like the one he and Belli had visited before, way earlier in the journey after the events in Menum. On the tiled windows, there is the image of a golden stag, much like the one we met at the time.  The place is great. Inside, the lighter gray stone and stuff. Green carpentry leading to the center. There’s an altar with a podium, etc.

Behind the podium, dusting down one of the barriers is a female centaur, brunette, brown eyes, around the age of the group. Way in the back, on one knee, there’s a redheaded Halfling praying.

Mournimar does not see the man in here. He just leaves an offering in the offering of 5 Gold in the basket. Though he doesn’t know why, he feels an odd warm feeling eminating from him.

At Kemis’ it’s fairly plane of a structure. The only wooden church, white wood with dark wood beams.

The smallest of all stainglass windows. A snake, eating it’s own tail. Purple with platinum. The most plain of the interriors. There’s a staircase going down in the basement area and it’s very plane, benches on the sides. A number of people, 7 priests. Earth Genasi woman, Gnome old Boy and another fellow.

The commotion of people from downstairs does not pass by Burk, but he carries on in the search.  There are some families, a little bit worse for ware, people with no homes of their own, etc. One of them clutching a piece of paper, a letter from a loved one.

Through all this, he sadly cannot see the man. Instead, Burk takes a knee and prays a small prair to Keemis, his reasons his own, joined by little Rimefang.

He tries his best, it’s the effort that matters as he feels a pat on the shoulder.

At Honos’ it’s lavish as fuck. Love is written in every kind of language, in elegant caliography. There’s a blond human with intricate robes walking between the women and men around, kneeling. He gently caresses a pregnant woman’s cheek cheek, the whole works. (These motherfuckers, as our DM put it).

The floor, clothes in a red carpet floor, there resides a bason at the floor for baptisms. There’s this whole Catholic thing with Honos.  Amelia doesn’t exactly feel well here. But, that quickly passes, seeing as she gets distracted by  one of the workers, a less priestly dressed lady with cleavage and doesn’t notice anything of importance. (Like. Hewwo. )

Amelia feels a warm feeling within her, after a small prayer and gains 2 temporary hit points from this event, before exiting. Outside, she catches some of the People Of The Night doing their nightly rounds.

At her namesake’s, Belli also doesn’t get a sense of the man being in the area.

Bellinas’ temple is the darkest of the five, the statue of an armored warrior woman with short hair and a large sword and shield at her back. Similar to Keemis’ house of prayer, it’s fairly plain with many benches and the like.

Amongst the evident folks, she sees two orcs racing each other to see who can clean the floors faster, while a black tabaxi and an Golliath watch from the back of the temple. The priestly uniforms here are more military-ish with pants and stuff.

There is no one with a goatee. Tabaxi doesn’t count.

After giving an offering, Belli prays to her namesake.

And, to some joke that only she and the Goddess herself evidently have told one another, she has herself a good laugh as she leaves.

Lastly, within the temple of Fornas...

There resides the second largest stain tiled window. That of Fornas himself, with all three of his Dragonborn heads. Copper in the middle, Blue and Green at his left and right respectively.

The very deity that represents the country’s flag itself. The innards of the building are made of stone and though it is normal, there seems to be some kind of enchantment that encompasses the entire room, giving it an golden aura.

There’s a gnome at the moment there, sitting in the back of the room, hands clasped behind his head, as well as a half-elf with sprinklings of gray hair, getting on a bit and he’s chill.

In the back… He’s only seen one of them before, a Dragonborn. A golden one. By facial expression, slumped, he can tell he’s very old. He’s reading from a large, large book in the back, having to use his whole form to turn the book.

And there, in the back, opposite from the Dragonborn, praying to another of the glass stained windows, there is a kneeling man. Wearing that robe. The very man that they had been following.

Before approaching, Luctan changes the color of his clothing from blue and dark indigos and purples and grees to shdes of black and gray.

He approaches. But stops at the altar.  There, Luctan ponders on Luck, Fate and Destiny and if Fornas is his enemy. 

Was it this child’s Luck, Fate or Destiny to lose his family?! If so, then he would stop any further harm to befall the elf boy. He swears to not let this child’s fate be that of his parents’.

Regrouping outside, the party catches up on their findings. Belli’s messaging Devon, wondering what’s the situation at his end. Devon answers that a fight has broken out at the house of the robed man and his spouse (and here it became evident to me that the person inside the building isn’t the one with the barrels.)

Running out of slots for the Sending, Belli sends Orion to deliver a message to Orion, where he can send the guards to take in the husband.

With the others waiting outside, in case the plan fails, Belli, Luctan and Mournimar walk back inside the temple of Fornass. And, using a combination of Charm Person and Pass Without A Trace, they manage to bring the husband outside, while Luctan distracts the Dragonborn from even seeing magic being cast in this holy temple.

The bunch manage to do this successfully, while Luctan becomes genuinely curious and intrigued by the cleric’s detailed explanation on the construction of the temple. Hell, he even starts taking notes.

(Luctan’s first love was Lore.)

Facepalming, Mournimar has to walk back inside to drag his friend out in mid-conversation.

“CALL ME!” Luctan entusiastically states as he gets pulled away from the scene.

Back outside, Belli has a conversation with the charmed man. It’s a friendly, non-violent conversation that happens here. Through a careful use of words, Belli Narrah convinces the man that he would have been thrown under the bus by his accomplice.

He begins to spill everything. Instead of light drips of information, it’s a well spring of the stuffs.

We learn about the torture, about the pain and suffering. It was the idea of the priest’s beloved.. Zarahm wanted something more powerful. The priest never took part, it was the friend who killed. He never wanted this, but he’s his husband.

By the time we convince and bring the man to a middle ground with the guards, they seem quite beaten up from their encounter with the other man, who seemed to be the heavy hitter. Though what that meant in-character, the party wouldn’t know yet, I think? (Out of character we learn that four guards died in the line of duty).

Belli encourages him to spill the story about worshipping Zarahm, how their blesings eventually got lackluster, the husband felt they needed to up the game. They picked people up on the way to the temple of Kemis and they’d sacrifice them and he didn’t want to carry on.

He had debated turning him in, but he was crazy. And he was his husband. A horrible combination for a relationship, honestly.

The guards take him away and we are told to come to the dungeons in the morning, where we will get payment. Thus we finish our first sidequest in Crystalgate!

From there, the Cultbusters go back to the temple of Kemis to get some well deserved rest. Locked arm in arm in a platonic friend lock, Amelia and Luctan enter with the others, taking in the surroundings.

Among the newly arrived at said temple, there’s a lizardfolk man, amongst the priests.

We approach the Earth Genasi and she assures us that we can most certainly take rest downstairs. Taking this opportunity, Amelia presents the amulet we got from the Flurries. Telling the tale of what happened, the Earth Genasi explains that whomever this belonged to, it now was Amelia’s.

Through magical means, the Earth Genasi, whom we learn is named Mother Destine, we get the news that the Amulet handed down to Amelia was and IS A Periapt of Wound Closure.

An item, which once attuned to gives it’s wearer a second chance. A gift from Keemis himself,  This will, every so often, if you’re brought down and feel the end may be near, this give a second chance.

Amelia graciously takes the Amulet and wears it and once the two (three if you count Archie the cat. And you should!) step back, Mournimar approaches the priestess.

He asks for a private conversation.

Mournimar asks if there are ways to talk to a dead person. Having the body available certainly helps, but as that isn’t the case for Mournimar, Destine will have to consider this some.

They discuss a lot of personal stuff, if there’s anything that can be done for his father, if there’s a way to save him from Potencia.  After a moment of private thought, she comes back to the tiefling ranger, pale in the face.

Wherever he is... - Mournimar’s father cannot watch over him. He is there, wants to help, but can’t.  There doesn’t seem to be a way to know why, not with her level of faith. There’s a way to save him from what he is now, but not what he was once. His mother definitely had a play with where he went.

She then comforts the shaken Mournimar with the words  “ You know, I find the best way to attone for someone’s past is to help someone’s future.”

From there we go to get some well deserved sleep. Heading downstairs to the bedroom, a very large communal place and there are bunkbeds. Some furs that are pretty amateurly made, pelts and all. Down below, Mournimar prays to three people.

To Dyunificus.

To Keemis.

And to a mysterious third person. His “Secret Buddy”.

Amelia brings out a picture, which she hares only with Luctan. It’s contents are for her and Luctan to know about.

With everyone else going to bed, Luctan takes the time to enter a meditative state.

He spends a seated, cross legged position for a good while under this trance, doing god knows what for the time he does so, until he gets shaken out of it by loud snoring.

Amelia gets a message in her head from Nelatha, who invites her to her place for the evening, which Luctan gives his blessing to, wishing her, well, Luck. ya know?!

With things quieting down, Luctan finally finishes the book he had been reading since the time in Sa Doma. The book ends with finding the clan killers and the woman finishes off her revenge. It’s written less grandstand and more private. It won’t bring her family back. ‘cause that’s depression.

And thus, Luctan gains the feat “Great Weapon Master”.

Chapter Three - You Said Forever

Author’s Note: I made an angst series using sad songs, ofc I had to use driver’s license eventually! Also, although the characters have gotten a bit older, I’m still using Andrew Garfield and Timmy Chalamet as the face claims! I hope y’all enjoy this chapter, it’s a big one!!

If the decrepit walls of 12 Grimmauld Place could talk, they would tell the tales of misery and anguish. The house had not seen much happiness since it’s construction, especially during the period Walburga, Orion, and their children inhabited it. It was only following the deaths of all of Sirius’ family that he took up residence there with you when the anguish was displaced with joy, if only for a short period. It’s no wonder that you moved to a cabin in the middle of nowhere with Remus following the events of October 31st.

Standing in the front entry once more, the ghosts haunting the dwelling seemed to be whispering unintelligible warnings against proceeding further into the house. You could hear the shrieking of Walburga’s painting upstairs, a familiar nuisance that had your blood boiling in an instant. Your husband’s arm draped protectively across shoulders as he rubbed soothing circles with his thumb was the only thing keeping you sane at that moment in time. 

Through the open door at the end of the hall you could see the face of Sirius Black, the light in his eyes slowly returning as he spots two of his favourite people in the world. He quickly stood, rushing out the door to embrace you both in a warm hug as you dropped your trunks to the floor. He held the both of you close and tight, afraid that should he let go, he would wake up alone in his cell once more. 

The Order reuniting was the perfect distraction for both you and your husband, your recent unemployment resulting in a sense of unease in both your minds. Luckily, both Sirius and yourself had inherited enough money that you needn’t worry about working, but the void that your children left when they returned to Hogwarts the following year was certainly hard to fill. Summer break couldn’t come soon enough for any of you. 

Towards the end of that summer the Weasleys came to stay, Molly and Arthur bringing their four youngest, meaning that mischief lay just around every corner. About a week after their arrival was when Hermione showed up, the same day that Moody had taken a small group to retrieve Harry from the Dursleys.

Hearing the opening door, you rushed from the kitchen where the meeting had been taking place to see that Arthur had returned with the young girl who he’d picked up from her muggle household.

“ Professor (Y/L/N)!” She smiled, lugging her cart behind her with one hand while the other cradled her ginger cat. 

“Oh please, Hermione, I’m not your teacher anymore.” You said. “(Y/N) is fine.” You knew the girl had seen you as a role model, both academically as a skilled teacher but also following the story Harry had detailed to her about how you’d worked for the Order to relay Death Eater secrets to them. You can still remember the slap across the head she’d given Ron after he let her secret slip during class, the young girl embarrassed that you knew how she idolized you.

“The rest of the kids are just upstairs if you want to join them, Ginny will show you to the room you’re sharing.  Harry should be getting here in about half an hour, and dinner will be at six-thirty!” You explained, the girl smiling as she carefully let Crookshanks down to the floor before she dragged her case up the stairs behind her.

Returning to the table, you sat in the seat across from your husband as you shared a tight-lipped smile. The two of you had decided that it was probably best to maintain a level of professionalism around your fellow Order members, the pair of you keeping all talk of your relationship outside of the meetings. These gatherings, however, continued to consist of endless bickering over the topics of Harry and Voldemort, the only subtle comfort you’d found during the evening had been Crookshanks crawling upon your lap for a snooze.

“I’m just saying that we can’t risk telling Harry about this, it’ll just be putting him in more danger and we never know who’s listening.” You said. “I mean, look at Pettigrew! He hid in your house for years without anyone knowing! Who knows what he’s shared with ‘You Know Who’!”

“Yes, but there aren’t exactly unregistered animagi running around everywhere, (Y/N).” Sirius remarked. 

“Says the unregistered animagus to the other unregistered animagus.” You snapped, glaring at your in-law from across the table.

You forced your mouth shut after that, not wanting to continue bickering with your friends, letting your thoughts wander until Sirius’ comment forced it’s way back to the front of your mind. You weren’t exactly sure as to why it was bothering you so much. Even after the meeting had concluded and you were the last one in the kitchen, baking cookies for the teens to snack on the following days, you couldn’t shake an odd feeling. As if there was something that your subconscious had registered that your conscious mind hadn’t yet comprehended. 

It was only when you turned to grab the tinfoil from the cupboard behind you that a cold sweat found your body, your mind finally registering what you’d missed when something caught the corner of your eye. Maybe you hadn’t noticed it because you didn’t want to believe it, or maybe it was that part of you realized just how long it would take for this shock to fully register.

“You must think I’m stupid,” You began, refusing to turn away from the dough you were scooping onto the cookie sheet, “or maybe you’re still just as arrogant as you were in school.”

You didn’t receive a response right away, causing both a wave of relief and disappointment to wash over you at your incorrect suspicion. But that all went away when you heard a shifting sound and the screeching of a chair.

“What gave me away?” A voice called from behind you in a smug tone you’d heard countless times many years ago.

“Oh please, Regulus.” You said, finally working up the courage to turn around as you fought desperately to conceal your emotions. He was older now, crinkles reaching the corners of his eyes, and his previously neat clothes were now battered, torn, and bloodstained, but apart from that he looked just as he did when he walked out the door years ago. “We were married - I know you better than you know yourself.”

He gave a silent chuckle as his smirk became a tiny smile and he looked towards the floor. An uncomfortable silence filled the room as a strong, unnamable tension continued to grow between you. While you expected an explanation, Regulus seemed to have anticipated a much happier reaction from you. 

“What, you’re not happy to see me?” Regulus commented, his confusion continuing to build at your indifference to his sudden appearance. “I’m still your husband, you can’t spare me a smile, at the very least?”

That’s when it hit you - he doesn’t know. Regulus, or Crookshanks, rather, hadn’t heard anybody mention that you’d moved on. It must have been some luck or twisted fate that he’d never been in the room when your relationship had been mentioned, which means he also doesn’t know about Teddy. But does he know about Archie and Cassie? Surely he would’ve asked about them immediately if he was aware.

“You’ve been gone for a very long time.” You said, your bitter tone contrasting the quietness of your voice, yet your volume grew with each word until you were shouting. “You abandoned me, how dare you show up now and expect me to welcome you back into my life with open arms. Do you have any idea what I have been through the past sixteen years?! You have no fucking clue exactly what you left me to deal with! And now you sit here with that smug expression, daring to call yourself my husband and expecting me to forgive you for the hell you put me through?!”

Regulus sat there with his mouth opening and closing, the first time you’d ever seen the quick-witted boy speechless. You could see the hurt in his emerald eyes as his mind desperately searching for something, anything to say. But you never got the chance, as the door opening as a third voice filled the room.

“Honey, it’s starting to get late, I think you should come to - dear god.” 

Both your and Regulus’ heads snapped towards the over of the voice, only for your eyes to meet your other husband. It didn’t take long for Regulus to process why Lupin was calling you “honey” and exactly where his comment was going, his eyes darting between the two of you over and over again, before a sigh escaped him.

“So that’s why.” He said, leaning further back into his chair and crossing his arms over his chest. “How long was I gone before you and the werewolf started -”

“Don’t!” You bit, probably a bit too loud because that was what finally caught the attention of two sets of ears upstairs. In the long, dark hall, two doors opened and two sets of eyes stared at each other from across the way. The eldest and youngest of the Black men eventually made their way down the stairs together, careful to be quiet as they attempted to discern what the voices in the kitchen were arguing about.

“There is a lot more going on than you realize, you can’t just expect everything to go back to normal after so long. Now if the two of you would stop bickering like children we can discuss everything like adults.” They could hear Remus say, presumably attempting to diffuse the situation considering how level-headed the man typically is. 

There was no sound as Sirius slowly peeked his head through the already open door, utterly disbelieving the sight before his eyes as his shocked exclamation broke the eerie silence.

“Holy shit!” 

“What?!” Archie gasped from behind him, squeezing into the room behind Sirius and peering over his shoulder to see a face that he’d only ever seen in photos before.

Regulus’ eyes widened at the sight of the young Black, clearly seeing so much of himself in the fifteen year-old boy. You being pregnant when he left definitely wasn’t outside the realm of possibilities, you were married after all, and suddenly a lot of your anger towards him seemed justified. 

“Is that my… Were you…”  He trailed off, unable to find the words he wanted to say as his mind still processed this new information.

Remus suddenly covered his shaking head with the palm of his hand, quickly exiting the room and heading out the front door to get some air. He didn’t want to watch Regulus steal his wife and his kids away from him - he just couldn’t.

“Fuck.” You cursed under your breath, holding your own head in your hands as you attempted to make sense of the insanity around you. “Archie, go back upstairs, I’ll be up in just a minute.”

“But-” Your son didn’t get to finish his protest, the look in your eyes when your head shot up to look at him scared him into compliance. In his entire life, he’s never seen that look of utter fury, especially not from you. He quickly left the room, anxious to fill his sister in on everything that had just gone down.

“Sirius, please deal with your brother while I go find my husband.” You breathed, not sticking around to hear a response as you made your way down the hall.

“Now where,” Sirius began, pulling out the chair at the head of the table and quickly sinking into it, “have you been?”

“I was the cat.” Regulus stated simply, the smirk he typically wore working its way back onto his face.

“You were Hermione’s cat?!” Sirius laughed, finding the irony of another “dead” person in his life winding up as being one of the trio’s pets. “Maybe we need to take a look at Harry’s owl.”

But the humour of the situation didn’t last very long, both their faces quickly falling as reality gained their attention once more. 

“I can’t believe I have a son…” Regulus trailed off, still in utter disbelief about the existence of the boy who looks exactly like him.

“And a daughter.” Sirius added, his brother’s eyes widening to saucers once more. “Twins, to be exact. Arcturus and Cassiopeia.”

“What’re they like?” He asked, desperate to learn more about the children he’d never known existed. Of all the things Harry, Ron, and Hermione talked about around him, they couldn’t have mentioned his children at least once?

“They’re perfect - don’t know where they get it from, probably somewhere on (Y/N)’s side.” Sirius said, a small smile forming as he talked about the kids he adored so much. “They’re both in Slytherin, just about to go into their sixth year. Archie is the quieter one, just like you were, while Cassie is a lot more extroverted and even joined the quidditch team her first year.”

“And (Y/N)...” Regulus suddenly grew solemn again, letting out a disappointed breath as he looked away to a random point in the room. “I need to win her back.”

“Regulus, I- I don’t think you can.” Sirius said, causing his brother’s head to whip back around to him, fury written all over his face. “Remus and her have been together for years, that’s not something that’ll just go away. He raised your children with her and they also have another son together, Teddy.”

“Then what am I supposed to do? Just give up?!” He snapped, a sinking feeling beginning to set in as he began to realize just how difficult getting you back to himself will end up being. 

“What’re you supposed to do? You’re supposed to get to know and form a relationship with the children who’ve thought you were dead their entire lives!” Sirius said. “And maybe you’ll establish a new relationship with (Y/N) again, one as co-parents. But her and Remus have both been to hell and back, so please, just promise me you won’t go about trying to sabotage their marriage.”

“But what about our marriage?”

Remus couldn’t hear any of the typical sounds of busy London that night, he was too anxious and all that he could pick up were the sounds of his heavy breathing. He was so distracted, in fact, that he didn’t notice you quietly slipping through the front door or sitting down beside him until you leaned your head on his shoulder. 

“How’d he come back?” Remus asked, wondering just what had happened to tear his life apart. 

“He was Hermione’s cat.” You said, your voice soft and sorrowful. “Turns out the Marauders weren’t the only unregistered animagi at Hogwarts. I’m just embarrassed it took me so long to figure it out, I knew it was his patronus but I guess I just didn’t want it to be true.”

“What does this mean for us?” Remus asked the dreaded question looming in his mind.

“What do you mean ‘what does this mean for us?’ Why would this change anything?” You asked in disbelief, raising your head from his shoulder to look at him.

“But he’s Archie’s and Cassie’s father-”

“So are you! You’re also Teddy’s dad.”

“And you were married. He was your husband first.” Remus added, gazing at you with a look of nothing but misery. “We were at Hogwarts together, I saw how utterly obsessed the both of you were with each other for years. You never even spared me a second glance, the only reason you even knew I existed was because I was friends with his brother… I’m not even mad about it, you should be with whoever you want to be with, and that’s Regulus. You’ve always deserved someone better than me-”

“Now you listen to me Remus John Lupin.” You began, your husband flinching at the use of his full name, something that you only did when you were angry. “You are who I want to be with, not Regulus; there’s no one better than you. If anything, I’m the one who doesn’t deserve you. Yes, we were married first, but that was for less than a year and happened seventeen years ago! We’ve been together for fourteen years, Remus, you’re my life now. I loved him in the past but he abandoned his family, you’re my life now and the one I want to grow old with. He might be Archie and Cassie’s father, but you’ll always be their dad.”

None of your eyes were dry by the end of your confession and you both spent the next several minutes just holding each other, relishing in the fact that the both of you were going to be okay. 

“Let’s go to bed, yeah?” You said, Remus nodding in response as the pair of you stood up. “We can deal with the rest tomorrow, Sirius can handle it for now.”

A/N: Okay, so I don’t personally believe the theory that Regulus never died and was actually Crookshanks, but it was what worked for this story so that’s what we’re going with! I’m so grateful for all the support this series has gotten, you guys are the best!
