I have to hold a lot back, because I don't know how to communicate well without overwhelming an audience.

Let me show you.

I'm right now figuring out how to explain a summary of over two years of investigation into mecha feet and contact-patch design, which led to me designing many MANY foot designs I came up with based on fighter landing gear, tank design, hovercraft, omniwheels, screw vehicles, and my personal favourites: marginal terrain vehicles and the Landmaster of Damnation Ally, which overcomes the shortcomings of 4+ generation Knightmare Frames [...]

(eg, their lack of omnidirectional motion, which they had to solve by transitioning to a psudoquadraped both with the Akito of Exile's 4-leg mode using its arms as walking limbs and the Queen Asura, which is not the same thing as a psudotetrapod because a quadraped has a abdomin structure closer to a jumping spider with the legs arranged inwardly for the front and outwardly for the back, and a tetrapod is radial pushing legs out at square or diamond angles relative to the abdominal centroid)

...and of Artos/Armored Trooperoids of Votoms [...]

(which had problems of a small tarus or hoof style foot with zero longitudinal arch which results in a lack of clearly defined calcaneus and thus no formal heel which would allow terrain gripping via the relative motion of the arch and phalangal body of the toes the heel like a beak -- all to encorporate the wheel in the arch-space -- which the design partially compensates through the use of a talon mechanism, and an optional structure fitted to the ankle which folds down to form an extended front foot -- which Armored Core's 5th generation later references in the folding falanges of the UCR series -- and late,r the Blue Knight variant directly addresses by extending the foot by 50% to improve the contact leverage with ground surfaces)

This is accomplished by using the stair-climber mechanism as a heel, but encorporating a scissor mechanism. Right now I'm not happy with where it is and I'm still figuring out where the hinge would go to keep it omnidirectional, which again is the common failure of leg-design in these platforms.

This is a MASSIVE amount of information to take in even in this light summary without diagrams to explain what's happening and I'd need help to really express what I actually want to accomplish.

I'm right now deeply conflicted as to how deep I should actually go because we can get very lost in the weeds and I'm not very skilled at diagramming the points I want to make and I have an entire taxonomic and anatomical language for mecha that I remove from my work when I present it to the public most of the time.

Like do I go into the development path, do I go into the evaluation of evolutionary paths I see like throughlines connecting things like how we got from knightly designs in Panzer World Galient or Dunbine (the first isekai) informs Tekkaman Blade informs Xi Gundam informs Escaflowne informs White Glint informs Unicorn Gundam and Banshee informs NWGIX/V, etc, etc?

Like there's an entire lineage and family line there being Albidimiles -- albidimiles being a portmanteau of albido (white) and miles (knight) -- not to be confused with the line Samonaut, which are essentially samurai-astronauts commonly belonging to Gundam.

Since we're dealing with design memetics, common concepts of conventional phylogenetic development don't apply since through a genetic lens, mecha is incredibly dependant on horizontal transfer -- eg, passing of information via contact, so adaptions happen not always convergently but frequently in direct parallel, as an arms-race does.

So that's an example of what this is like when I don't filter any of it for an audience, and it very quickly goes off into the weeds.

What I really need to go to the next level is an editor who understands the concepts I'm dealing with; for example, do I talk about the inherent transness of the L-Gaim Mark II and Nagano's own history with gender expression as a mechanical designer and how he expresses those feelings of femininity in his work, or do I go full schizo and present the world with my wild "Nagano-Egg Fashion-Sapphoid-Mantis" theory which is in itself a total fever dream born of conjecture gleaned entirely from his work and photographs of him leering at Tomino instead of his wife at his own marriage?

I need someone to reign me in, but also be able to support me in this capacity -- ie, a research partner who's happy to let me toil in the weeds and then is happy to help me represent these ideas and understand what you as an audience can actually make sense of.

What has happened is I accidently over-studied the design part of mecha and understudied the illustration part which I'm actually very poor at.

I can go so much deeper than I do regularly, but making sure I don't lose people is a challenge I've never managed to solve so I mostly just write for myself and then only turn it into a post if someone has a question.

Patterns? Yeah, I write a lot of angst, but I do like to end with schmoopy romance, and when Sam's involved a side of implied smut LOL. And when the BN gang stop angsting, they smile a lot 😁

The exception is the Gundam Wing fic, because damn, those kids are so far from 'fine'; they have no clue what a relationship is, or should be, or anything. Maybe in a decade or so they'll start figuring it out...

• My first HTF OC I've created (which debuted in Feb 2018 💘) is this certified veteran of the Earth Federation warrior and commander of the "Cuteness Defender Academy" named 'Cude' (a named was came from the aforementioned "CUteness DEfender")! 🐰🤖 A white bunny, with his armor used was based on his favorite Gundam pilot idol, Amuro Ray. 🔴🔵🟡🤖😁 Plus, he hates wearing Zeon armors manufacturing by the Zeon feds 🟢🤖👎. (IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: He's also 'slightly' despised Gundam's archrival/arch nemesis... You know, "More than meets the Eye"? 😠 Yeah...) Nonetheless, let's talk about his A/W Clothing. 🧤🧣❄️😊 I've already talk about Miya's A/W clothing that was based on 'TigerMcflurry's' HTF OC named 'Yumi' ❤️🐼 (which, by the way, she's formerly named "ArtsyGumi"), so here's another one (before Miya Speedster's debut). And I want a share the half of it because I have another one coming up, on the end day of October. Cude's A/W Clothing color was based on my favorite 'TigerMcflurry's' HTF OC, named "Mai". Malcolm was actually beginning to find joy in semi-retirement being almost four months into it, he liked being able to walk Bug home from school everyday. He’d taken up a hobby, thanks to 21 introducing him to Gundam building. Gary had things under control, training new minions, setting up arches, even commanding them! The Monarch was still out there and he barely had to lift a finger!

Not to mention that his health had improved significantly and his relationship with Sheila had never been better! Speaking of, he could hear his wife entering the house now. Guess she decided not to go to work after her doctors appointment.

“Hey, Pookums!” Malcolm greeted her from where he sat at the desk in the office, not looking up from the delicate and small piece he was painting. So I have finally played my first Gundam video game and that happened to be SD Gundam Battle Alliance and I am really glad it was because playing this game give me the realization that there are good Gundam video games out there.

This game is really good fun. The combat is fun and fast paced, as it should be. There is a wealth different mobile suits from a lot of the different anime. I am going to list every mobile suit in the game because I can.

So, yeah, there are a lot of mobile suit to play and collect in this game. Now, personally, I find that can be the one downside to this game as well. See, once you do the main story and the DLC stories, there isn’t much left to do. The only thing you really can do is replay story missions as chaos missions and yeah it’s just going after blueprints to mobile suit you may have some but not all of or just not have yet. Some people may find that fun but I personally have already become bored of it. But that is really the only negative thing I have for this game. I definitely recommend giving this a play.

The GNW-20510/C Gundam Azrael is a Prototype, Custom GN Drive Tau-equipped Mobile Suit. Appearing to be a general purpose Mobile Suit at first glance, the Azrael is in fact equipped with a state-of-the-art hacking suite intended for precision cyber warfare against a squadron of enemies. Its primary color, Lime Green, is the personal preference of the pilot. Its armaments include the same GN Beam Rifle used by the GNX-609T GN-X III, primarily used in Long Barrel formation, as its primary weapon. The Azrael also utilizes a Tieren-use Carbon Blade and GN Beam Sabers for close combat. Additionally, it has two GN Micro Missile launcher units mounted on its back torso, a folding GN Combat Knife on the rear skirt armor, and built-in GN Vulcans in its forearms. It also uses a GN Shield similarly to the GNW-20000 Arche Gundam, and is capable of utilizing Trans-Am like the GNX-Y901TW Susanowo. Finally, its head contains the majority of the hardware it utilizes in hacking and information processing, making it the primary weak spot of the Gundam. Finally, the upper torso is equipped with a special A-Type Sensor. Its purpose is primarily decorative, but it also assists in the Gundam's hacking by identifying priority targets. However, its exposed location also marks it as a potential weak point for the Gundam. It also possesses a state of the art cockpit ejection system, designed above all else to prioritize the safety of the pilot. Uniquely, the Azrael's GN Drive Tau generates green particles, much like the original GN Drives, though the reason why is unknown.

This one is designed exclusively for one of my OCs, one First Lieutenant Miyuki Aria! It's probably one of my better builds, ehehe...At least, I think it is.

Gundam Overdrive: Thoughts So Far.

I'm going to reiterate that I wish I had gotten into this series sooner. The story, The Characters (Most of the time), the world, the designs, all fantastic.

So here's the list I am following in terms of watch order chronologically in the UC timeline. Now I was warned about the jump in quality, or rather the whiplash, in this watch order. But you can thank Starwars for helping me get used to that.

So as you can see, chugging along right now at a pretty brisk pace. But also remembering to slow down every once in a while so I don't get burnt out. Anyways, just some highlights of my reaction to the series. This is subject to change as I progress through the series and just my silly little opinion. Take it with a grain of salt as someone who is just stepping into Gundam.

Favorite Opening.

Favorite Ending.

Inconclusive.

Favorite Protagonist.

Amuro Ray (Runner Up: Shiro Amada) (Amuro has a bit of a neat character Arch. But also dear gods child, you are traumatized.)

Favorite Antagonist/Villain.

Char Aznable. (What can I say? He's terrifying. But also has a very punchable face.)

Least Favorite Protagonist.

Nina Purpleton. (I know they changed directors which screwed up her character a bit. I'm still pissed at her. Kou deserved none of that and deserved so much better.)

Least Favorite Antagonist.

Inconclusive.

Favorite Gundam.

RX-78-2. (I'm basic, shoot me)

Favorite Mobile Suit.

The Red Zaku II. (Same reason as above)

Least Favorite Gundam.

RX-78GP03 Gundam "Dendrobium" (I couldn't get over how goofy it looked)

Least Favorite Mobile Suit.

Apsaras III. (Looks like something out of my nightmares, which means it did its job. It looks like a giant bug, I hate it.)

Well, this is my first time that I draw Nicole Watterson (The Amazing World of Gumball) In an armored "Arche". 🙂

BTW: Happy late anniversary, TAWOG. Sorry, I haven't do anything by drawing TAWOG stuff. But, its "decent" to celebrate, nonetheless.
