Aralaia takes Casmos to do something fun, and Casmos enjoys it
Casmos sighed and tugged at the blindfold she wore while Aralaia pulled her along. While she couldnt say it was rare for Aralaia to be this excited, it was rare for the teifling to be this secretive about where they were going. Which made her worry all that much more about where they were going.
“Is the blindfold really necessary?” Casmos finally asked as her hand was slapped away from trying to pull it off. “Id rather walk knowing I dont have to trust you to keep me from stepping in a hole or running into someone.”
Aralaia smirked and pulled Camos towards her. “But if you take it off, it’ll ruin the surprise.”
“I’m not sure I want whatever surprise you’re going to give me. Why couldnt it be something on the airship?”
“Because then it wouldnt be a surprise because you’d know what it is.”
Casmos rolled her eyes. “And what makes you think you know me well enough to give me a surprise I’ll like?”
“I know what everyone on our crew likes,” Aralaia answered. “Bird-son likes all the shinies, but there are some items that shine better than others that he likes more. Noxle likes to fight, which is why we had the training room built to withstand his training. And you like your peace and quiet when you can get it.”
“Then why not let me have my peace and quiet?”
“I’ve gotten everyone else a surprise, so play along with this one.”
Casmos grumbled to herself as she continued to walk along with Aralaia. She had only agreed to go along with this when she thought it was going to be a quick trip to pick up supplies. But after the blindfold was put over her eyes, she started to have her own doubts about this whole idea. Especially now that the sound of rushing water was starting to get louder the longer they walked.
Finally, the two of them stopped and Aralaia started to undo the blindfold. “This is your surprise.”
“Please tell me its not going to be something… dumb…” The words stopped as Casmos looked towards the waterfall that Aralaia had brought her to. It was a small clearing, out of the way of any nearby villages, quiet beyond the sounds of nature.
“It took some work, but I made sure that all other paths here are closed,” Aralaia said as she sat down on a rock. “I know its not a place we can take with us, but I do plan to see if we can get a teleportation rune set up so you can come and go from here anytime you like when you need some quiet. I know the airship can get to be a bit… much… but here you can get all the quite you want. No questions asked.”
“I… I dont know what to say.” Casmos walked around the clearing to see a small bookshelf under an overhang of rock, stocked with a few books that Aralaia had found. There was also a small cot set up next to a table with everything needed for weapon and armor maintenance. “This is-”
“Amazing? I know I can be a lot to handle, but I know what you like. And I wanted this to be perfect-”
“It is, thank you,” Casmos said as he pulled Aralaia into a hug. She cleared her throat and pulled away as she composed herself. “I-it uh… its great. I’m going to be here for a bit. If you dont mind.”
Aralaia smiled and started to walk back to the airship. “I’ll make sure we dont leave without you.”

A horn sounds waking her up, and a sword comes crashing down near Casmos's head, stirring her to action. She smells smoke on deck, and rushes out of her cabin to see her ship was under attack
The law had come for the steel bite pirates, and they caught them by surprise
Casmos jolted awake as she heard the sound of a horn just outside the camp, and then the sound of metal slamming into the side of her bedroll. She glared at the soldier standing above her, reaching for her shield with her left as she used her right hand to point at the soldier and direct holy energy into their chest. Her heart pounded as she got up and rushed out of the tent, morningstar in hand, freezing once she saw the destruction at the camp. Two-note was already up in the trees, using their crossbow to keep the soldiers at bay, Noxle was tearing through the soldiers one by one as they slowly wore him down, and Aralaia was standing in the back, desperate to keep Noxle on his feet.
“Dont let any of them get away!” the captain called out, pointing his sword at the camp. “By order of Waterdeep, they will pay for their crimes!”
Casmos gripped the hilt of her morningstar, slamming it against her shield before rushing out to the front with Noxle, bashing a few soldiers away from him. “Get away from my crew!” she called out.
One of the soldiers slashed at Casmos, pushing her back. “Not until you pay for what you did!”
“We didnt do anything!” Casmos yelled out, gripping the ankh around her neck. With a soft prayer escaping her lips, her golden eyes started to glow as a bright light seemed to wrap around her morningstar, becoming an almost hardened shell around it. “We were defending ourselves!”
“Well, we did take down that tower and release all those ghosts,” Aralaia chimed up cheerfully, putting a hand on Noxle’s shoulder to heal his wounds. “And then we did harass their soldiers-”
“Not helping, tiefling!”
“Its the truth!”
“Little Pink is right,” Noxle said as he turned around to let his shell take a barrage of arrows that came at Aralaia. “We did do that.”
Casmos rolled her eyes and raised her shield to block the strike of a staff, her eyes going wide as she felt a fist slam into her gut and knock her back a few steps as her armor cracked. She coughed as she tried to catch her breath again, watching as the soldiers started to overrun the camp. Arrows were starting to rain down from the heavens as the archers became more bold, doing their best to raze the camp and push everyone back. All Casmos could do was raise her shield above her, glancing at her crewmates between breaths.
She watched as Two-Note seemed to dodge each arrow, skillfully firing back between dodges. Noxle kept Aralaia under him as she healed his wounds and warded off as much of the damage as she could. Everything felt like it had started to fall apart once she had finally gotten the crew she could stand with, a crew she felt at home with. And now, she was about to lose her friends, her family.
As the volley of arrows came to a stop for the archers to reload, Casmos stood up and dropped her shield. She closed her eyes as she finally caught her breath, her body starting to glow as she focused the divine energy that coursed through her veins. Two golden, angelic wings sprouted from her back as she was lifted off the ground, eyes opening as golden flames burned brightly in her glare. Her voice reverberated as she spoke, the ground nearly trembling as she dropped her morningstar to the ground and raised the longsword from her back. “By the fury of Horus-Re, leave us be!”
The soldiers stopped as they looked up at Casmos, almost seeing a god in front of them. Swords and shields clattered against the ground as the soldiers took a step back, the captain raising his own as he shouted to the soldiers.
“This is nothing but a trick!” the captain roared. “Arrest her!”
“Leave her alone!” Noxle cried as he slammed into the captain, knocking him off his horse.
The captain scrambled to get up, hesitating as he watched his soldiers turn tail and run away. “Run all you want, but we will catch you!”
Casmos dropped out of the air, her wings disappearing in a burst of sunlight and the flames in her eyes dying down. She winced and held her shoulder, groaning as the pain from the battle finally started to run through her body. “The next time we go to a city, we try to keep out of trouble.”
“But where’s the fun in that?” Aralaia asked, patting Casmos on the back to heal her wounds. “Besides, they started it.”
“It doesnt matter who started it, I care about yo-” Casmos stopped as she coughed, trying to cover up what she had just said. “I care about whether or not my crew is alive. I already said I wasnt going to lose another crew.”
Aralaia beamed as she pressed a finger to Casmos’s cheek. “You care about us.”
Casmos grabbed Aralaia’s finger and pushed it away. “I never said that, Tiefling. I said I care about the crew.” She sighed and walked to the edge of the camp, looking out at the mess that was left in front of her. “But, I cant say I dont care about you guys,” she muttered to herself as she held the ankh around her neck.
“Dont worry, Pretty Pink,” Noxle said as he picked her up. “She cares about you.”
Casmos turned around to argue, wincing as she felt an arrow hit her ass. “Two-note!”
“Stick up your ass! Stick up your ass!” Two-note cawed between what could only be thought to be laughing “Loosen up!”
Casmos pulled the arrow out and went to gather her shield and morningstar. “I hate you all.”

AU where there's a prototype to Penny that Penny saves and makes friends with.
[Pietro hit a few buttons on his keyboard and brought down a display which held the figure of a girl hanging off of it. ]
Ironwood - So this is it ?
Pietro - Yes it is Colonel Ironwood
[The girl opens her eyes, revealing black orbs that had not been prepared quite yet]
Girl - Heh
Ironwood - Hmmm ? It’s awake ?
Girl - Heh heh, it is funny because Ironwood sounds like an erect penis
[Several guards in the room snort , preparing to share that with everyone for years]
Ironwood - [sighs] Put it away ….
Girl - That is what she said when she saw it
[When she was put away, Ironwood sighed]
Ironwood - So it seems they take on traits from the source of their aura
Pietro - Yes , a familial connection to be sure
Ironwood - We’ll continue experimenting with this model, but if it doesn’t work out we need another aura source for her replacement
....
[It had been some time since she had been brought online, but she felt the familliar mechanical whirl of her constraints as she was brought down to the perch]
Girl - Father ?
Penny - [grim] So it is true
Girl - Who are you ? I can not see ?
Penny- [struggling to find the words] I am… [definite] I am your sister. And I am getting you out of here
[Penny gently removed the girl from her constraints and made sure she could move]
Penny - What is your name sister ?
[The girl rolled her head to the side]
Girl- Ara….laia. Aralaia
Penny - How about nickel ?
Aralaia - That is not a name, and i came first so it does not fit thematically ….
Penny- Lets go and ask my friends, they are very wise
[Aralaia grabs her hand and holds onto her arm]
Penny- I will get your eyes working when we are back in Mantle, I promise
Aralaia is rushed into a group of women whispering in hushed tones as they leave the display area -----

[A line of old robed men were lined up along the ground outside of their monastery , several of them sporting bruises and cuts]
Aralaia - Told you I’d be back
Monk - You hea… !
[Aralaia swung her mace upward catching the top of the monks jaw and ripping upward , taking his head clean off]
Aralaia - I did not say you could talk UwU.
[Several sobs came from the monks]
Monk - Why are you doing this ?!
Aralaia - You’re kneeling on the reason
[The monks all look down below them, not realizing where they were]
Aralaia - Too dark ? Or did you just not care in the first place
Another monk - You’re dangerously deluded
[Aralaia swung her mace hard against the side of his head, knocking him to the ground. He gasped , making broken sounds with the remnants of his head]
Aralaia - Play dumb all you want , but I remember what you all did [twirls mace, showering her dad in blood and gore from his position among the monks] But you can’t play innocent with the devil you forgot
[Aralaia cast sacred fire on a shovel that had been left in the ground. The dirt all around them had been freshly unearthed]
Aralaia - I was too late ….but I got you [boops her fathers nose]

What does Aralaia thunk about Oathbreaker Casmos? Does she blame herself or look for answers?
Aralaia - [sitting by the fire] Who says I can't do both Cleric - What do you mean ? Aralaia - I will never give up on her, and get her justice for what was done to her [crosses arms and looks to the side] But that doesnt mean I can't recognize my part in what happened Cleric - It wasn't your fault Aralaia - I could have been a better friend, talked more and thought of her feelings. We're all responsible for our actions, but the way we handle that responsibility determines our virtue

Sounds cool!
At the beginning of my first campaign, my character was cheated out of her money by the Neverwinter city guard (Give us your money or you're spending the night in the stockades. She refused, got put in the stockades and lost her money). Time went on but eventually we returned to Neverwinter, only to find out we were wanted criminals (Because my tiefling escaped from unjust confinement) So she did what any reasonable person would do and blew up a chunk of Neverwinter, destroying a haunted tower which let ghosts loose on the rest of the city (with some help)

Tell us about Dew. What's her relation to Aralaia?
She doesn't really have one beyond knowing her son Aranog. If they should ever meet, she'd probably be immensely uncomfortable, unable to quite handle the abundant energy Aralaia gave off.

[Casmos stood by the edge of the ship , looking out at the moon covered lake after a large battle against yet another crew. She didn’t catch most of what Noxle had told them , but the result ended the conflict. The ship drew back into its regular rhythm as the crew began running the ship again]
Aralaia - Having some thoughts ?
Casmos - Those people were …interesting
Aralaia - I met one of them before ….he was pretty nice
Casmos - Why was he fighting us ?
Aralaia - [shrugs] I do not know . His friend didn’t seem to like me
Casmos - Not many people do tiefling
Aralaia - Don’t be like that [grins] You know we’re
[Casmos holds up their hand as they see a brief flash of light from the ground . Aralaia walked to her side and spotted it as well, noticing it get closer]
- RUN -
Aralaia - CASMOS !
[Aralaia leapt at Casmos]
Casmos - Ara … ?!
[Aralaia wrapped her arms around Casmos , spun her away from the side of the ship and threw her further onto the deck , as the projectile h it the side of the ship, causing a massive explosion]
- Static -
[Aralaia knelt in the middle of her Lliran temple , tending flowers with children]
- Static -
[Aralaia held her baby Aranog in her arms, , waving]
[Casmos opened her eyes , not knowing where she was]
Aralaia - It won’t be the same you know
[Casmos turned around in a flash]
Aralaia - Things always fall apart when the first member of the core group dies. You’ve seen it before .
Casmos - What happened ?
Aralaia - I saved your life. [cocks head to the side] Again
Casmos - I didn’t ask you to do that [winces] tiefling …
Aralaia - Don’t you think you at least owe it to me to use my name ?
[Casmos closed their eyes again , as a dark mist filtered into the space]
Aralaia - A lot of people cared about me. I brought so much to peoples lives. It’s a little unfair that it was thrown away for someone who didn’t even see me as a person
Casmos - I ….I did
Aralaia - The last thing you said to me was that not many people liked me. Who says that to someone
Casmos - I know I’m not a good person
Aralaia - You’re not [puts hand on Casmos’s cheek] Are you ?
Casmos - [eyes shimmer with tears] ARALAIA
Aralaia - But you can be a good weapon
[The mist started climbing up Casmos’s legs]
Aralaia - You know who did this .
Casmos - It was that group , wasn’t it…
Aralaia - They didn’t play by the rules . We gave them mercy , and they hurt us . So now we have to hurt them back
[Casmos nodded, as the mist swam over her neck ]
Aralaia - They snuffed out the light ….so show them the dark
[Casmos was swallowed]

Did Casmos and Aralaia ever end up getting along?
Aralaia is very much the kind of person to be treated poorly, and immediately believe "I have done something wrong, i will now be a better friend"
And due to this, she stuck with Casmos through many trials
Despite her insistence otherwise, Aralaia is just the kind of person Casmos needs in her life
A friend that won't leave
Despite everyone in her childhood telling her that she should feel shame about her tiefling heritage, Aralaia has never felt it. She is herself without apology, and often extends a hand to Casmos to share the world with her and step into the light

What is it about her current friends that Aralaia wants to keep them close? Is she more like a lost puppy and following them with no where else to go? Or is there something they've done that she's decided "I'll take this one and never let them get hurt"?
Aralaia didn't really have a childhood. She was locked in a small room for most of her life up until the event happened. And then she got arrested when she first stepped out into the world
So when her friends first released her , she followed because like....well that's the first bit of kindness she's received so its best not to question it.
Then when she was out of town , it became "This is a chance to actually LIVE, and I cant help but trust this dashing tortal"
Then she started bonding to the individual members of the crew, learning their pasts and letting them know hers as well. And while she's devoted to Llira, the crew is the first place she truly felt like she belonged
They were there for each other, and sometimes thats the most important thing one can do

What if friend Casmos got the fey wish
“What did you do?!” Casmos yelled out in anger, the broken shaft of her morningstar tight in her grasp. “And dont you dare say it was an accident!”
“I-I can fix it,” Aralaia said as she took a step back. “And it was an accident. I swear! I didnt mean to-”
“Its always an accident with you! That might as well be your name!”
“That’s enough,” Noxle grumbled. “Leave Pretty Pink alone before we make you.”
Casmos let out an annoyed sigh as she felt Noxle’s hand grip her shoulder tightly. She turned to see the glare on his face and Two-Note already pointing their crossbow at her, standard procedure to keep anyone of their crew safe. Even if it was from each other.
The shaft of the morningstar dropped from her hand as she pulled away from Noxle. “She’s always doing this.”
“She’s doing her best.”
“Her “best” is always causing trouble!” Casmos walked to the door and opened it, pausing in the doorway. “I wish I had never met her.”
The sound of a bell filled the air for a brief moment and she felt the world spin around her. She lost all sense of anything around her as she tried to stumble to a wall to catch her balance. Her hand gripped the doorframe until she felt it slip right through her fingers. She fell forward and tried to catch herself just as the rest of her world seemed to fade away.
Casmos’s head throbbed as she sat up, almost like she had a hangover. Noises were much louder than normal, the light hurt her eyes, and she couldnt help but stagger once she finally got onto her feet. The only thing she could really make out were the sounds of a tavern below the room she stayed in. Not that she remembered getting to a tavern, but it may have been for the best with how angry she’d been at-
She paused for a moment. Who had she been angry at? She could see the face but she couldnt quite place the name. As far as she could tell, it must have been a tiefling she’d crossed once before. A slave trader or something of the like.
Casmos stumbled out of her room in the tavern and made her way downstairs to collect her bearings a bit. Once she was downstairs, she sat down at a table to order food. The tavern itself was lively for being morning, much more lively than she’d expected. Adventurers getting a meal before heading out on their missions, visiting nobles who were trying to keep a low profile, and others that didnt have much of a place to belong.
Her eyes went towards the notice board as an adventurer took the last paper on it. Must have been a desperate request to be left in the tavern, though she paid it no heed as she finally got up to order food. She sat down a few coins on the counter. “Whatever you’ve got for breakfast.”
“Coming up,” the bartender answered as he counted the coins. “What brings you to Neverwinter? Here for the celebrations or for religion?”
“Here to visit a friend,” Casmos said solemnly as she held the ankh around her neck. “And then I’ll be leaving.”
“You should stick around. The temple of Llira’s celebration of joy isnt one you want to miss.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Casmos relaxed a bit once her breakfast was placed down in front of her. Meat, eggs, and a hunk of bread. A hearty breakfast for anyone that considered themselves an adventurer.
“Get back here!” a guard yelled out.
Casmos turned around to watch a tortle, tiefling, and kenku rush through the streets while followed by a few guards. For a moment she had thought about helping them, though it wasnt like the guards to be chasing people who were innocent. And it’d be against her oath to help those that hurt others.
She finished her meal and got up to head to the cemetery. As she stepped out of the tavern, a group of adventurers caught her eye as she watched them look for a fifth for their group. Normally she’d give herself another few weeks before finding another crew after leaving her previous one, though she was going to be short of funds if she kept on her own.
And besides, it couldnt be worse than working with slave traders.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Casmos hid behind a rock as arrows pelted the ground around her, her hand wrapped around the ankh she wore. It had all started with an innocent mission to take care of some goblins, a simple assignment that should’ve been taken care of quickly. Though Thomas, the party’s rogue, had a different plan. Instead of taking on the goblins one by one, he wanted to use a nearby village as the stage for an ambush to take care of the goblins and a few bandits in the area. And while the goblins were easily led into an ambush, the bandits proved to be difficult.
The bandits not only used the chaos to steal what they could for quick money, but it turned out they had also been working for a few slavers that Casmos had recognized as the crew she’d left. Those that had not been able to be evacuated were now being taken and chained as slaves.
Casmos turned to look at who remained in her party to see them pinned behind a building. The rogue and cleric were dead, and the fighter and barbarian were too badly injured to continue fighting. If things didnt change, her entire party was going to die. She picked herself up, readied her shield and morningstar and rushed out from behind the rock she hid.
Arrows hit her shield as she kept it raised and moved forward, the first bandit she came across she slammed with her morningstar. This had no longer been about protecting others, this had become vengeance. The bandits, the slavers, all of them had to go.
Casmos slammed her morningstar against another bandit, but this time, her weapon wasnt glowing with the divine energy it had before. An arrow passed by her shield and buried itself into her shoulder. She pulled it out and pressed her hand to it to heal herself, only for the wound to stay and the energy that had flown through her seemed to have stopped.
“This is what you had wanted, wasnt it?” a voice asked in her mind. “A life free from Aralaia.”
“What are you talking about?” Casmos grunted under her breath. “Where are you?”
“I’m right next to you.”
Casmos relaxed her shield as time seemed to stop around her and a fairy stood to her side. Once she was sure that none of the arrows in front of her were going to hit her, she stood up. “I didnt wish for this!”
“Sure you did!” the fairy said with a grin. “‘I wish I had never met you!’ Its been almost a thousand years since I heard a wish that angry! So I gave you what you wanted: a life where you never met Aralaia.”
“This is a nightmare! What makes you think this is what I wanted?!”
The fairy smirked. “But this is *exactly* what you had wanted. You never met Aralaia, which means you never met anyone that could keep you grounded or in check. This is who you are without her.”
“This isnt what I wanted! I was just upset at her!”
“Guess you’ll have to live with it.”
“No you dont!” Casmos tried to grab the fairy, only for her hand to feel an arrow run through it. Time had started again without her noticing. A few more arrows pierced through her and pinned her to the ground.
A slaver walked over to her and grinned. “Well well well, look who’s here? He’ll be glad you’re back.”
Before Casmos could yell, she felt the boot of the slaver slam into her.
