Applejack Rabbit

Popular since the late 1920s, Applejack Rabbit is a cocktail for the season with its warm Autumnal hues and flavours. For me, it is also the occasion to remember my Summer holiday in Deauville as Mum and I brought back Pommeau de Normandie from the farmer's market there! Happy Friday!

Ingredients (serves 1):

8 ice cubes

60 millilitres/2 fluid ounces (4 tablespoons) Pommeau de Normandie or other apple brandy

1/2 large lemon

1/2 a small, juicy orange

15 millilitres/1/2 fluid ounce (1 tablespoon) Grade A Canadian Maple Syrup

Place ice cubes in a shaker.

Pour Pommeau over the ice.

Throughly squeeze the juice of the lemon and orange halves, and pour over the ice as well, along with Maple Syrup.

Close shaker tightly, and shake energetically until well-chilled.

Strain into a chilled coupe glass.

Enjoy Applejack Rabbit immediately.

Rarity and Sweetie Belle as grey lipizzans mostly because I thought it was cool that they’re born black and turn white as they get older, and they seem fancy and elegant and I think it suits them. I imagine sweetie belle would be a pale dapple grey when she gets older.

Pinkie Pie as a Romani cob/haflinger cross (which I misspelled on the image oops) because I wanted her to have some resemblance to applejack because they’re related, but I also thought she should be pony-ish with a fluffy mane and tail and slightly off putting pale blue eyes. also bc of friendship is witchcraft.

fluttershy as palomino selle francais because I had to keep her buttery yellow color and because “French haute couture please”. and I think having her as a gaited walking horse is a good counterpoint to rainbow as a race horse.

Applejack and apple bloom as Appaloosa draft crosses bc I couldn’t decide between Appaloosa patterns (and puns) and that sturdy draft build

Rainbow dash as a thoroughbred (which I also misspelled. damn.) bc fast. and dapple because it looks like rain and clouds

Scootaloo as a red dun quarter horse because they’re not as fast as thoroughbreds or other race horses but they’re popular for barrel racing and western trick stuff, which suits her scooter stunts I think. Also I couldn’t not have a quarter horse in the mix.

Twilight as a bay Arabian because they’re fancy/aristocratic. I also thought about barb or Andalusian but I couldn’t resist the distinctive silhouette

although white rabbit doesn't have a specific, canonical age, i feel as if he is kind of old-man ish (and also a rabbit, haha) while zatanna is very much a teenager in highschool and therefore this doesnt sit right with me.

i wish in the "do princess dream of magic sheep" episode they wouldve done more in depth character stuff for the mane 6's nightmares . theres so much potential there , especially since we see that luna's worst nightmare would be to become nightmare moon again . like... maybe for rainbow dash , something abt failure & not being able to join the wonderbolts or fly? for rarity , sweetie belle deciding to run away from home ? for pinkie, not being able to make ppl happy & losing her friends, twilight's being failing princess celestia or being unable to be a princess/save equestria, applejack losing the farm & her family, fluttershy's anxiety & having no one , etc . im sure there'd still be ways to insert magic into these sorts of scenarios so that princess luna can come in to save them . i like that the episode focused on princess luna but i just feel like there was an opportunity wasted

Hello, attempted a modern Sonic Bunnie Rabbot redesign!

@thepinkgalaxy55 did a post on twitter and it reminded me to finish this design from last year lol.

Check under the cut for the journey down the rabbit hole.

Started out with a sketch of her previous designs to get a better idea of what makes 'em tick.

From Left to Right: SatAM, Archie, Archie Reboot-all bunny, and Reboot Robo-bunny After that, figuring out the head. Stayed round, but wanted to avoid the same copy-past-face. Took out the bun-toof in the final since it really wasn't needed and she never had it anyway.

Next, let body & mech parts.

Initially started Forces Avatar like, but switch it over to a different direction. I wanted chonky lower legs and the Big O hydraulic fist. Started toying around with the joints found in the more modern renders of Metal Sonic and other bots.

Final lines and Color tests! Or at least with the original colors to see how I could make them fit, and where to take her design from there.

Went a more EggPawn style because they're very practical in their form and function in terms of design. I also like to think that if the modern Eggman were to turn to robotizicing, he'd probably keep the bots more simplified for what he could mass produce over something more complex that would require more fixing and tweaking.

She also got a pony-tail like MLP's Applejack because I felt it would help her shape a bit more.

And finally, figuring out colors for myself.

I ended up going towards the dusty-rusty-rose on the end to help her stand out from the bots as well as the other pink and purple gals already in the cast.

Pinkie Pie: Iconic look, every member of her family is interesting, let the animators go wild, has met Roger Rabbit personally, swirly loopies in mane so UPA

Twilight: Clever, purple, PURPLE, amazing cutie mark, dork academia, loves her interests, pink streak representing her magic 10/10

Rainbow Dash: Rainbow on a blue sky what a design AND eyes magenta, shallow aspects make the deeper parts of her character very compelling

Rarity: Perfect horse, no notes
