Literally any other character. Like Zane. Which they already do. And that Ein and aphmaus dynamic in SMP videos is way better (and tends to be more funny) when they ARENT doing shipbait like. How do you fuck up a dynamic by trying to make it “less weird” by just making it more boring and one note

Update on my Mystreet binge {Spoilers for season 5, Starlight}

I remembered most of this season after all! I actually stopped watching shortly after the engagement episode. Right before Derek {Aaron's father} spilled all the secrets to Melissa {A's sister}.

I really did miss the BIG reveals and the downhill roller coaster that is Angel's fall. With this season's finally, I'm terrified of season 6. Only hearing that its.. chaotic to say the least.

Most of the episodes were great. I found myself feeling embarrassed about the whole "alpha" spiel. But that's more due to how the word is used now-a-days that made me cringe in a bad way. Idk where the whole Maria plot was going, thought she was going to try to cause a rift between the main couple?

I loved the cute moments this season! The bonding with Aaron and Aphmau seemed more chill than over the top lovey dovey stuff. They are cute without the pressure of appearing cute. Unlike Travis and Katelyn, which was a great constrast and gave a few giggles. Still find it a bit creepy that EVERYONE is so into their relationship. But rather that than the guys hoping for their downfall just to get Aph. Sylvanna telling her daughter that becoming a werewolf "just because" was disrespectful towards the culture explained why I was so off put by it. Still, think the whole try not to compare Aaron to a dog was funny. {but where did Celestia go? She was there day one then vanished...??}

I also loved Zane and Nana's relationship.. for the most part. I like that Nana was pushy with it while Zane wanted to take things slow. I'm just surprised that he let a lot go by in the name of not rocking the boat. The whole accidental cheating with the brother plot.. it's one of those scenes you know it happened but happily skipped over a bit to save yourself the second-hand embarrassment. Their kiss {while later on said it was just to keep him interested} was adorable! I feel like it was just the way Nana would confess her feelings. And with Zane? He might not have taken the hint otherwise. Garroth's "about time" response to the news was perfect. It showed that he had improved on keeping his baby brother's feelings in mind.. so much so that he noticed the chemistry between him and Nana before they did!

The proposal was also nice. We all knew it was coming, but it still felt special. Only a bit sad that their announcement to his parents didn't go as planned. Especially with Garroth getting snipped. Poor dude can't catch a break. Experimented on when young {which might explain why Garte favors him}, ladies ran from him, and now he's bedridden because.. as Zane would put it .. he's a boob( ╥ω╥ )

Hello Kat! Before my question I wanted to say I’ve loved your videos since I was younger, so it’s always nice to see how much you’ve grown over the years! My question was where you got the ideas for the goobers Osto and derpy? Was it a character you used once and decided to keep? Or were they completely yours?

Derpy was created when I was around 13? My old persona I would use online for roleplaying (specifically Minecraft roleplay) was Kit, half enderman and half human. She had pink hair and purple eyes and wore an enderman hoodie lmao. One day I was messing around with her skin and made her eyes derpy, and I thought it was so funny! I was a huge fan of Aphmau at the time, so I called her Derpy-Chan. Even when Kit was shelved, she remained a fun fixture to every roleplay I did!

Otso is another story though. We were creating a story/roleplay about a fantasy kingdom (which would later evolve into Azora shhhh) and I was helping my friends come up with their own characters. Suddenly, I put on the funny Otso voice and acted like a merchant and everyone laughed! I refined him more, made him a skin (he used to have brown hair and brown eyes, fun fact!) before I remade him to be the brother to Derpy.

Before they were brother and sister, I actually considered them to perhaps be lovers. SO GLAD I DIDN'T DO THAT, it'd be SO AWKWARD LOL

Honestly, I can understand how the accidental incest thing happened with Ein and Aphmau. And I'm not advocating for it or anything. But you see it a lot in actual, proper media.

It happened in TMNT 2012, where the writers made Leo have a crush on Karai. Which, if you've seen enough of it, she ends up being his sister. It was mostly because of a mix of, last minute plot twist for dramatics, and I'm sure the writers felt like the writing for LeoxKarai fell flat, and was something the fandom would ignore.

With MyStreet, you have to understand, season 2 of PDH, was made around the same time as S2 or 3 of MyStreet. With FC University being made same time as S3 or 4 of MyStreet. So, the love/obsession thing with Ein, was the shock value Jesson wanted for that season. And later on, during the creation of Emerald Secret, they kept it, especially if it was made during the same time or close to PDH S2. There's also the fact that MCD was being posted at the same time for a while. And details are easy to forget and get confused.

I believe that during the making of S6, revealing that Ein was Aphmau's half brother was just the shock factor they wanted. I think they either thought the previous love plot point fell flat and people wouldn't notice it. Or perhaps they thought it would quash the rumors that Jason hated Jess shipping her character with other guys (which seemed to just have made it worse/just not work.) Or, maybe they thought overall, it was harmless. Which I can kinda see where they were coming from.

The point is that they didn't ever plan for Ein to get with Aphmau, so they thought that the plot twist was harmless. It's not like it's them saying they condone incest. It just so happens to be an uncomfortable plot point, that happened for the stake of shock factor and an attempt at good story telling.

Again, not advocating/condoning incest. I'm just trying to give my thoughts, being an avid writer myself.

Also, if you shipped Ein and Aph before the siblings reveal, please don't be disgusted with yourselves, you didn't know. It doesn't make you gross or anything. It was an accident. <3

Its not even the voices Aphmau needed to do in early seasons. I just have troubles where I take shows really seriously, so the no warning / no consent kissing or the people trying to find out everything about Aphmau's love life is just frustrating for me.

Autistic people taking things too seriously, what else is new?

But on the rewatch I kind of read it differently. It makes sense that Aph’s friends would be concerned about her love life since she hasn’t been interested in anyone since high school, her mom is notorious for hating boys, and half her male friends have crushes on her and she doesn’t reciprocate any of them. It’s an interesting situation and I know I’d be concerned, especially if I was Katelyn or KC

Katelyn sees Aph as a sister and knows that she’s had bad experiences with boys in the past (Gene and Ein, though I haven’t gotten to Ein in the rewatch yet so I may be misremembering some details) so of course she’d be suspicious of Laurance and the others across the street, Aaron who’s super suspicious and used to be a bully, and Zane who is literally Zane hahah

Meanwhile, KC is obsessed with shipping and she stands as an outlier who actively analyzes relationships and pairs them together in her mind as possible relationships, with her favorites being expressed more openly and verbally like a hyperfixation. It’s problematic but also not unheard of, and I can relate to analyzing your friends and deducing their compatibility (though not so much pressuring them into pursuing that compatibility :/). In the end she just wants to see all her friends happy, and she projects her own love of romantic love onto them

(KC actually reminds me a bit of Nepeta from Homestuck but that’s a conversation for a different day)

I do think the lack of consent coming from Laurance and his roommates is very weird and disturbing, but the conscious narrative seems aware that it’s problematic while the subconscious narrative plays it off as a joke. It’s not really that funny, but I guess that’s just part of the anime tropiness of the season.

The entire show, or at least the first seasons of MyStreet and PDH, was made to feel anime tropey and unfortunately that kind of nonconsensual humor is very anime. It’s a little nuanced tho that the rest of the show explores the “after they get together” situations rarely seen in romance anime, though, as well as abandoning the nonconsensual humor in favor of villainizing it and using it to characterize antagonists (sorry Laurance fans your fav is problematic <3)

I actually kind of realized through my rewatch that Laurance was the main instigator of these inappropriate actions and it’s really his own problem to work through. The rest follow him with the frat boy mindset and only come to their senses when actually thinking on their own lol

Like, I remember as a kid there being so many jokes about Travis touching peoples butts, but as far as I remember from my rewatch they were all accidents! That’s kind of funny actually! But the normalization of predatory behavior is very weird in S1 and I’m glad it’s gone in S2

In PDH S1, it’s only slightly justified by the students all being literal children who are working through their hormones and poor coping mechanisms. Both Laurance and Garroth kiss Aphmau without her consent and then swear her to secrecy, which is toxic as hell and its protrayed as such. Gene even threatens to kiss her in front of Aaron which is a whole other thing we don’t need to discuss at length cause I’m sure you get the point by now

But PDH-Aaron notably asks permission every time he does anything romantic with Aph and it’s sweet. In S1 of MyStreet, he does kiss her after the play without verbal consent, but it’s implied she did at least nonverbally consent in later episodes when discussing what happened. Regardless, that sort of content in S1 isn’t touched upon as the story goes on which makes it a lot better to me, and it shows the growth of the author alongside her characters

Time for more fleshing out lore and character! This time, focusing on the treatment of Meif'wa in Ru'aun, with a later focus on Miette (Nekoette but renamed)

As shown in the base series, Meif'wa are treated rather poorly in Ru'aun and viewed as rather weak. This stems from the fact that a lot of mei'fwa "domesticated" themselves and the fact a lot of mei'fwa are not built to fight like many of the Ru'aun knights and guards.

Due to the war and injustice that plagued and still plagues Tu'la, a large immigration to Ru'aun started years before Aphmau came into the picture, and with that came a lot of unease. In Ru'aun, the majority of the population is human or incredibly human esc with the addition of elves. The exception being werewolves, people that the humans viewed as volatile, animalistic, and dangerous. A stereotype that was passed to meif'wa when they arrived.

In order to combat the stereotype of being animalistic, a lot of mei'fwa essentially domesticated themselves. They only talked calmly, behaved softly and never acted on aggression. This led to the soft kitten stereotype which was both better and worse for them, but ultimately safer.

Something that only added to the stereotype was the fact that meif'wa aren't built for the heavy metal armor and fighting style that guards use. They are built for flexibility and speed. They are your samurai and ninja types (not naruto but more like blue eye samurai type). Due to this, mei'fwa couldn't succeed in the guard academy thus furthering the belief that they are weak. Martial artists forced to learn constrain themselves to armor.

In MCD season 2, we see this belief expressed by Katelyn while she was turned into a mei'fwa. Not as blatant as I am stating it here but blatantly enough to be picked up on. Since Katelyn is the new head of the guard academy, I think that this bias will trickle down to Miette.

In Season 3 it is shown that both she and Dimitri are training to be guards so I am going to expand on it. Despite both children showing promise, Dimitri has been a lot more successful than his younger sister. He already had more advantages due to his mother training him early but the biggest advantage comes from the fact that he is being taught by people built like him.

Miette could be so much stronger if she wasn't being taught how to fight like a human but instead taught how to fight like a Meif'wa, something none of the guard teachers know how to do. She can't follow her natural instinct because the metal plating barely allows her to move. Her instincts tell her to dodge but the weight holds her still.

Katelyn will be at a loss on how to train her because all of the promise she shows is not working out. Miette will struggle until Katelyn gives up and hands her off to Liochant. I think thay only then will Miette be able to show improvement because Liochant is half mei'fwa as well, just a sphinx (a mei'fwa without ears and tail.). Miette will later flourish when Lady Kanika (a menphia temple maiden and meif'wa) takes her under her wing or paw.

I’ve been working on a few Aphmau oc redesigns. One is MCD and the other two are Mystreet versions.

First one is Jade Valkrum! She’s the elder sister to Travis. I thought it would help him honestly to have an older sister. She owns an online shop for her homemade jewelry. And also works in piercings. In MCD though she’s a lot older than Travis and was an expert in Ice magic(she still has it but she’s not as advanced) she froze the portal off where the demon warlock couldn’t get out but also froze herself with it until Travis came around.

Second and third is Ender! In Mystreet she works as a tattoo artist and her family is close with the Ro’Meaves. She used to be human until the Starlight season and became a werewolf during the incident.

In MCD, she was first a guard in phoenix drop with her father. Not to mention she’s half dragon but that’s something else. During the timeskip she got into an arranged marriage but ran away from it with her two kids and lived on the sea. She’s basically a pirate but helps with trade for phoenix drop.

Y’all wanna hear something fucked up abt my mcd rewrite? Of course you do!

First I wanna start this off by explaining that dreams are very important in my rewrite. Dreams are somewhat prophetic, depending on the person and the context.

For example, relic holders, specifically descendants or reincarnates of the divine warriors especially experienced these prophetic type of dreams. These dreams are usually memories of the divine, or even messages from them to their current… replacement..

For some, these dreams only start after they’ve acquired their relic, like for Garroth and Menphia’s relic holder (trying to decide if I’d rather it be Katelyn or Lucinda). For some, the dreams only get more detailed, clear and frequent after acquiring their relic, like for Aphmau. And for some, the dreams begin even before acquiring their relic, like for Travis, Eseryt, Aaron, and Laurance. (I’m counting Laury even tho Xavier didn’t technically have a relic, not getting into that right now but i will at some point)

Well anyway, ever since Eseryt was a small child, she’s been having the same vivid dream, constantly on the last of the month. It started when she was 5, after being taken the Barton, and they ended when she was 18, after leaving Barton. She’d awaken in the dead of the night, someone calling to her, luring her away with the same gentle yet monotone voice. They’d call her up the mountains that surrounded Barton. She’d climb them half awake half asleep, following footprints in the snow to the same spot each time. A small crater in the ground. There she’d find a woman. She was shattered, unraveling, trying desperately to pull herself back together. She’d mutter to Es, begging for her to help. Eseryt wouldn’t go near her, she was too afraid. Then, the woman would scream and Es would wake up in her bed in next morning, covered in snow.

It was like this until she turned 18. The next time she found herself with the Woman who begged, something in her told her to finally help. She stepped closer, reaching out her hand, and when she touched the woman’s face, her body was suddenly pulled back together and she was whole. The woman then grabbed Eseryt’s wrist and looked her in the face. Eseryt noted her scarred over eye. The one eyed woman whispered “Find her.” and disappeared. Eseryt woke in her doorway this time, a single dagger in her hand.

Ok time to explain all that!!

The woman Eseryt has been seeing is Kul’Zak. Yes, in my rewrite Kul’Zak is a woman and Eseryt is her incarnation.

Her “Find her” is the reason Eseryt left Barton in the first place. For the next few months after that night, she’d wake in the middle of the night to whispers of “find her”. She had to know what it meant.

The “her” Kul’Zak tells Eseryt to find is Aphmau, and it’s reason the forest leads her to Phoenix Drop. Eseryt, however, always assumed the “her” was her sister Cadenza. However, Cadenza being in Phoenix Drop at the time Eseryr just happened to arrive but purely by chance. Probably.

Now, why was Kul’Zak shattered and why couldn’t she fix herself? Well, here’s where it gets fucked up!

In order for Irene to shatter Shad and seal him in the Nether, she needed to use the life force of her fellow Divine Warriors. She couldn’t sacrifice herself otherwise the spell wouldn’t last. Only thing is, she didn’t tell the others that sealing him away would kill them. She especially didn’t tell them it would quite literally rip them apart where they stood.

I should mention that the Divien Warrior’s mortality works slightly differently in my rewrite than it does in canon. I’ll make a separate post about that later :)

My Ein is still a werewolf yes. He’s known as an ancient type of werewolf known as the Direwolves, what wolves evolved from.

This means he’s a lot taller than most werewolves, and a lot more feral looking (longer hair, sharper teeth and claws, it’s a lot harder for him to hide the fact he’s a werewolf)

In my rewrite he is Irene and Irene’s sister’s half-brother yes, who was raised by their mother.

His imprisonment DEFINITELY fucked with him for a while. Not only is he immortal due to his own relic, but he had no food or anything in that place. Immortal and starving, not to mention yes he was cut off from the moon/lunar goddess so Ein was quite feral upon full moons for quite some time, meaning he often had Aphmau and Zoey use magic to keep him imprisoned in the cells so he did not hurt anyone.

Mystreet au on the brain so here's a summary if the au:

So, the basics are that once Eins mom killed herself, cps called Sylvanna, considering Aphmau was his half-sister and stuff. And she ends up adopting him. This changes a whole bunch of things, and Ein is a wet cat of a werewolf and is very protective if his 'goodest of boys' title

Also, him and aph shenanigans. He's supposed to stop boys from talking to her...he does not, the manz be a double agent *snoop dog meme music*

He does try and fight Aarron because *protective elder brother, even if only by like 3 months* aphmau has to stop them from fighting, by dragging Ein away while he makes threats that he doesn't mean

He is also terrified of Katelynn. They fight like toddlers, btw. I think it's kacey who he attacks in canon, right? Yeah, their bffs in this au, "your sister scares me" "she scares everybody! Including me!" *whimper*

Aphmau and Ein constantly argue about theory about- any show, doesn't matter rif it's a wizard of oz or mlp. Sylvanna once asked what the big deal was, and they turned on her. She was and still is, SO confused...regular movie night everybody-

The au is mainly based on 'if Ein was adopted dby aphmaus mom and they grew up tigetehr' whoch is why I have a lot of ideas mainly on him in this au because, it doesn't center on him, but the main change is him you know? Doesn't matter to much

Ein had Forever Potions around and was addicted to them

Nearly hurt Bacon under them once

Bacon's name is a nickname. His real name is Joseph. Joseph "Bacon" O'Hara

"Bacon" is because Ein nicknamed him that while they were thinking of names

He really liked pulling on tails and ears

Ein and Blaze broke up, and... well... *looks at canon* they died and Bacon was left with Blaze's parents

Ein was revived due to the amount of Forever Potions in his system, and he figured that Bacon would be better off w/o him (also didn't know where he was)

Blaze revived too, due to the amount of Forever Potions that had gotten into his system when dating Ein

Childhood:

Bacon had little memory of Ein, and was mostly raised by Blaze and Daniel

So I’m watching the newer Aphmau videos and one was a recreation of one of her old Roblox videos, and thus introduced the lore of Arina to the minecraft version of Aphmau.

So I drew a PDH-rewrite version of her. She’s Aphmau’s older sister by a year, half-werewolf like she is (though, unlike Aphmau, she did get her ears and tail). She’s super athletic and is class president.

She’s also gay but doesn’t really realise it until she’s an adult so the whole creepy boyfriend storyline still happens.
