Most recent haul of Black Butler goods from Japan
The first couple of items unboxed were this Kuroshitsuji clear trading card and a gorgeous postcard print of Ciel getting dressed up to debut as Komodori.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we managed to snag some posters advertising the new season of Black Butler: Weston Arc.
Ciel posing in his Sapphire Owl uniform...
Tumblr media
... and the PASH! promotional image of Ciel and Sebastian at Weston, as both a postcard and poster.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is a piece that I honestly don't know why we hadn't already added to our Black Butler collection.
A stunning folding screen Shikishi board of the Phantomhive Twins; made to promote G Fantasy's 25th Anniversary.
Tumblr media
Another item I was thrilled to get my hands on was this full B2-size poster of Toboso's "Dinner" artwork.
It seems to have been a promotional piece for shops to advertise Kuroshitsuji in general as well as provide information about books of interest.
When opening this item we discovered that despite the items new condition, there were still some unfortunate damages to the paper. They are minimal, so once it is framed we hope that the scuffs will be even less noticeable.
Tumblr media
{A little Extra bonus at the end}
One of our Japanese art books recently fell apart so we bought a replacement and this was the bag that it came in.
Unfortunately, it was very dirty and our attempts to clean it up made the ink of the design smudge. We ended up throwing it away but we did get a snapshot of it before the damage occurred.
Tumblr media
Maybe at some point in the future we'll be lucky enough to have something else shipped in one of the original pop-up store bags. We'll be more careful next time!

“Morale is so low lately…” Crowley tapped a golden claw against his desk, pouting as he rested his cheek against his other hand, “The campus is so depressing…”
Yuu raised an eyebrow, not looking away from shuffling the papers in their hands, “What do you expect? We lost to RSA in, like, four events last week. I'm surprised no one’s started a fire or something yet.” They didn’t respond when Crowley just groaned louder, writing something down on the form before moving to the next one.
“That damned RSA! Ruining the peaceful atmosphere of our lovely school! Destroying the ego of our students! Taking my award grants away from me!” He furiously ran his fingers in his hair, messing up the black locks, “The board of directors is going to cut our funding again!”
“Where is the fucking accident report-Oh, there it is.” Yuu forged Crowley's signature on another document, rolling their eyes before finally putting down the headmaster’s paperwork and watching the man fall apart at his desk, “...” They smiled, grabbing a paperweight and slamming it down to gain Crowley’s attention. Once the headmaster startled up, Yuu leaned more against the desk, “I got an idea-”
“Oh, no-”
“Shut up. I have good ideas. All you need to do is approve my event and make sure it’s properly advertised. I promise morale will be raised by the time we get back.”
Crowley looked concerned still, almost pressing into his chair as if Yuu was poised to attack him. He hums, looking to the side and nervously clicking his nails against his desk, “...” He tilted his head toward Yuu, “No one is going to be hospitalized this time?”
“I mean, probably…”
“...”
Yuu shrugged their shoulders, looking through the piles of papers to grab a blank sheet, “We're NRC students; someone's bound to break a bone if we do anything, ya know?”
The headmaster sighed, face tilting toward the ceiling as though to question the higher powers, “Is that what we're truly known for these days…?”
“I mean that and managing to not die…” Yuu took their time writing something on the paper, ignoring Crowley's groaning as he struggled to make a choice. Just when the man had opened his mouth to give an answer, Yuu held up the piece of paper, “Never mind! I got the okay, already.”
Crowley stared at the paper, realizing Yuu had wrote out their idea and simply forged his signature for approval, “HEY-”
Yuu snickered, waving the paper as they rushed out of the room, “Thank you~! Bye~!”
Once Yuu had slammed the door behind them, Crowley sighed at his desk, “...Well a broken bone isn't too bad…”
Tumblr media
“A water park-”
“A water park!?” Kalim nearly climbed onto the table, beaming in joy, “We get to go to a water park!?”
Yuu smiled, pinching at Kalim’s cheek playfully and shaking his head, “Damn right! I even got official permission from Crowley.”
Vil looked at them deadpanned, cup of tea half way to his mouth, “Official, huh?”
“Fuck you.”
Riddle sighed, simply making peace with the fact neither Yuu nor Kalim would apologize for interrupting him. He sipped his tea thoughtfully as Yuu and Vil bickered before speaking, “I've never been to a water park-”
Yuu cuts him off, speaking softly in an almost pitying tone, “Oh, of course you haven't; you poor sickly Victorian child.”
“Why am I always Victorian?”
Leona yawns, scratching behind one of his ears as he kept himself balanced on the back legs of his chair, “Anyway, who do you plan on having pay for this? Forged signature aside, a trip this big will cost a lot of money…”
“...” Yuu turns back to Kalim, smiling as they tilted their head gently while batting their eyelashes, “Hey, Kalim, can you pay for this trip?”
“Sure! I even know the perfect park! My 6th youngest brother from my dad's 12th wife had his birthday party there only a few weeks ago so I can just call them to book the whole park for the Asim family again. Oh, and I can pay for all of the food, the souvenirs, the-”
Azul sighed, lightly placing a hand to Kalim’s arm in an effort to calm him down, “Kalim, I'm doing this as a favor to Jamil; Stop.”
Idia chuckled, in a rare IRL appearance from the third-year, and continued to play on his phone, “Well, you losers have fun getting burnt in the sun…”
Yuu smiled, tilting their head to the other side as they started poking Idia repeatedly in the ribs, “No~. Participation on this field trip is mandatory~.”
Idia jolted, squirming away from Yuu's fingers, “There is no way this event is mandatory.”
Swiping Vil's pen from his breast pocket, Yuu clicked the gem and quickly wrote on the scrap piece of paper before holding it up to Idia, “It is now.”
Riddle spoke, placing his phone back onto the table face down, “Plus, I have already informed Cater about our impending day trip.”
Idia sat in a stunned silence, his phone starting to buzz on a seemingly continuous loop. No doubt text after text from Cater asking which set of sunglasses were the most ‘Camable’...
Vil snatched his pen back, clearing his throat and reaching for his own phone to alert Rook, “Well I suppose it's settled then. A little romp in the sun could do a few in my dorm some good…though I will need to give a short talk about proper after-swim skin and hair care…”
Yuu smiled, sending a pleased look around the table, “Well, you guys just pick a weekend this month and we can-Fuck, where's Malleus?”
Kalim groaned, slapping the palm of his hand to his forehead, “I knew I forgot something! I was supposed to go to Diasomnia to get Malleus for the meeting this turn…”
Leona scoffed, raising an eyebrow, “How do you herbivores keep forgetting that lizard? He's nearly 7ft tall…”
Rolling his eyes, masking it by adjusting his glasses, Azul gave Leona a side glance, “Oh like you've never forgotten when it was your turn to fetch him.”
“I didn't; I just never went to get him.”
Tumblr media
The waterpark trip had finally come, each dorm going through the mirror to the closest Mirror Station*. From there dorms had crowded into buses and made the hour drive to the waterpark.
As the 'event coordinator,’ Yuu and Grim arrived early to the park with the faculty. While Crowley and the other teachers did a final safety sweep of the grounds, Yuu and Grim were to hand out the wristbands as the other dorms arrived. Though Grim, of course, didn't stay long. The cat monster snatching a wristband and rushing into the waterpark to ‘find the best spot’. They sigh, snapping the band of their boy-short bottoms in boredom, Crewel had vetoed Yuu’s original request to wear their bikini of choice. ‘Confidence aside, puppy. Showing that much skin isn’t school-friendly’. As such, Yuu stood waiting in patterned boyshorts and a thick banded halter top to match.
Before long, the first group of buses pulled in, unsurprisingly being the ever-punctual Heartslabyul. The first off the bus was Riddle, a sunhat adorned with a few roses firmly on his head and rubbing what Yuu assumed was sunscreen onto his bare arms. He ordered people off the bus by the vehicle, making them stand along the curb as he personally checked that each person was accounted for. Once Riddle had counted a person, they made their way over to a growing crowd with Trey and Cater in the center. Each of them had a large bin in hand, Trey handing out small tubes of sunscreen while Cater handed out shades in various colors.
Riddle walked up to them, sighing heavily and fanning himself as he grabbed the thick bundle of wristbands from Yuu, “The sooner I get to a cooler area the better…all the bands are accounted for correct?”
Yuu looked Riddle up and down, lips pursed in displeasure, “Have I ever told you that I hate your dorm uniform? Because I know I have, I'm just not sure if I've said it to your face specifically.”
Looking over his swimwear, Riddle sputtered before huffing, “There is nothing wrong with my swimwear!?”
Truly,  there wasn't. Crewel had heard ‘waterpark’ and decided he needed to design standardized swim trunks and tops for each dorm. A way to have a united front while in the semi-public eye and still be able to tell which dorm was stirring up trouble. So while Riddle was perfectly in uniform for the event, Heartslabyul-themed swim trunks, a tucked-in red and black tankini top, and school-issued water sandals, Yuu still sneered at him.
“There is too much going on. I don't know how Floyd fucks with you; you're clearly poisonous.”
“I don't need to take this. I'm leaving; good day, Yuu.” He had started to walk away, quickly turning around and pointing at them as he handed the wristbands to a very excited Ace and Deuce, “And remember sunscreen!”
Yuu waves at Riddle, mumbling under their breath to not give a clear answer.
Tumblr media
Savanaclaw and Octavinelle’s buses had arrived just as Riddle had started to signal his dorm members into the park once they were all fitted with a wristbands. Yuu couldn't help but laugh, watching the Octavinelle students stare out of their bus's windows with glares as a group of Savanaclaw students all rushed out and mobbed their buses. A petty act to keep them on the vehicles so that their dorm could enter before theirs.
Leona walked up to Yuu, his hair braided into two large sections that rested over his chest and a full beach towel tucked into his themed swim trunks, “We're here, give me the bands.”
“...” Yuu looked at the redheaded child hanging limp in Leona’s one-armed hold, a baby-fanged grin and shining hazel eyes beaming up to them. They point at Cheka, trying to keep their smile small, “He doesn't go here.”
Ruggie appeared from behind Leona, adjusting a number of bags slung over his shoulders with a little snicker, “You don't know every person in Savanaclaw, prefect. Come on, he's a freshman.”
Cheka seemed to understand the lie, holding up his fists and making an angry expression, “Let me in or I'll beat you up! RAWR!”
Yuu had to physically turn away, a hand covering their mouth to hide the wide grin on their face. Turning back, Yuu personally snapped a band around Cheka’s wrist, “You know what? You're right. He's clearly a fearsome Savanaclaw member, you have fun in there, buddy.”
Seeing the multicolored plastic on his wrist Cheka squirmed around, pointing to the band and smiling at Leona, “Ouji-Tan! I did it! I got in!”
Leona didn't look down, grabbing a band himself before walking into the park as he mutely spoke, “Good job…”
Ruggie moved to follow, only to have Yuu grip him by a bag strap and yank him backwards.
Whispering harshly, Yuu kept their eyes on Leonas's back just to make sure he wasn't listening to them, “How the fuck is Leona getting away with having his tits out? Like, I can't wear a bikini top, but Leona can be out here freeing the royal nipple?”
“Ahahaha…Oh, Yuu…” Ruggie gently worked Yuu's hand off of the bag strap, patting them on the shoulder before pulling them even closer to hiss with a glare, “This horse was a gift, stop looking in its mouth.”
Shaking their head, Yuu shoved Ruggie away lightly, rolling their eyes, “Horn dog, that's your new legal species. Can you stop thirsting over Leona and make your dorm members leave the Octavinelle buses alone? I think they’re gonna actually flip them…”
Looking over his shoulder, Ruggie noted how…yeah the others were rocking and shoving the buses to the point the wheels had started to lift off the ground at a semi-steady pace, “Huh…yeah…” Looking around, he caught sight of who he was looking for and called out, “Jack! Round ‘em up! We're heading in!”
Yuu watched Jack give a salute to Ruggie, turning into his larger wolf form and chasing the other Savanaclaw members away from the Octavinelle dorm and into the park.
Tumblr media
Jack made a lovely herding dog, corralling the rowdy Savanaclaw students easily into the park and allowing Azul to finally step off his bus. The cecaelian looked pale, pausing a moment with a hand bracing against the side of the bus before he called for his dormmates to exit as well. As the crowd walked closer, Yuu saw Jade being half dragged by a frowning Floyd, the shorter twin looking vaguely green.
“You guys have fun? It looked fun.” Yuu handed the thick grouping of bands to Azul, leaning closer to peck his lips gently.
Azul sighed, grabbing three wristbands before handing them off to be passed into the growing crowd, “The ride over was already bad enough. Even with smooth roads, being car sick is still far too easy for me and Jade…”
Floyd mumbled, trying to snap his wristband on one handed before giving up, “These two losers nearly threw up on the way over here…
”Jade lifted his head lightly, his full weight pressed to Floyd's side as he looked into the park unamused, “And the rocking did not help…”
Yuu chuckled, helping Floyd with his wristband, “Well have fun dealing with the chlorine smell.”
Azul raised an eyebrow, “Chlorine? Why would you use chlorine in water?”
“To keep the water clean?”
Jade squinted his eyes, holding his wrist out for Floyd to place his wristband on, “That seems unethical…”
“From what I understand, most land pools use a natural filtration system. At the very least this park does from my research…”
Yuu shrugs, “Well, what do I know? I'm just a silly bitch.” They smile, leaning over the podium and loudly whispering to Azul, “Don't put on sunscreen yet, I wanna be the one to slather you down.”
“We're going into the park, goodbye Yuu, we shall see you inside!” Azul had one hand braced against each smiling twin's backs, shoving the teasing Eelmers into the water park and hoping no one could see his blushing cheeks.
Tumblr media
Kalim was the first one off of the Scarabia buses, different songs blaring from each bus as they pulled into the empty parking lot. Kalim saw them from across the way, running over with his hands waving in the air and a big smile. Jamil notices as he exits the bus, running after him in hot pursuit.
Yuu watched as Jamil nearly tackled Kalim to the ground. The only thing saving them both from eating pavement was the second Jamil got close, he grabbed onto the cords of Kalim’s loose, twisted tube top and pulled. The fabric tightened instantly, no longer in danger of drooping and flashing an Asim nipple. They stood in the parking lot, Jamil glaring and double-checking Kalim’s outfit before reaching into a beach bag, spraying him down heavily in a mist of sunscreen.
Once they had finished, more Scarabia members exited their buses and walked over in a crowd. Yuu noticed from the corner of their eye as another dorm's buses pulled into the parking lot.
Smiling, Kalim waved, “Hi Yuu! Scarabia, set and prepped for a day of fun!”
“Did you put sunblock on?” Jamil had already grabbed Yuu by the arm, trying to tug them from behind their podium with his spray can prepped.
Yuu mumbled loudly, managing to pull their arm free from Jamil's grip. To counter his second attempt of grabbing them, they shove the thick band of wristbands into his hand. He groans, already being swarmed by his dormmates trying to grab a wristband to enter the park quickly.
Kalim laughs, calling out to his dorm, “Don't crowd Jamil too much! And remember to put on your sunscreen and kohl!” Turning to Yuu he asked, “Do you want a kohl stick? I have a few extra that haven’t been used.”
“I'm good Kalim, plus I plan on getting on slides and I will probably rub it out of my eyes at some point-”
“Kohl is waterproof, you know this.” Vil had appeared, a large sunhat keeping his body completely shaded though he wasn't actually showing much skin. He was in a strapless full-length romper, light in color with splashes of deep purple littering it tastefully. A black braided shawl over his shoulders protecting his arms and tying his outfit together with his designer black shades and plain black flats.
Kalim exclaimed, eyes wide and smiling, “Wow! Vil you look so nice! I've never seen a bathing suit like that before.”
“Because it's not one. I've had time to think it over since we all set a date for this trip.” He held his hand out, silently demanding Yuu hand over the bands for his dorm, “Even with my blend of sunscreen, The chance to tan is too high. I'll simply be enjoying the jovial atmosphere from a lounge chair, maybe do some reading.”
Scarabia had slowly entered the park as Jamil handed out bands, finally freeing the other sophomore from the crowd to join the conversation, “Hm? I can understand not wanting to get into the water; I barely trust NRC students without the threat of drowning. But not even sunbathing?”
Vil huffed, rolling his eyes playfully from behind his shades, “Jamil, if I'm going to tan, it has to be perfectly even and full body. And I highly doubt our teachers would appreciate me being in the nude.”
Yuu sighs dreamily, leaning against the podium to twirl their hair And look just barely not into the sun, “I bet Rook would. Rook loved when I sunbathed naked on our anniversaries.”
“I will drown you myself-”
A purple blur passed them, making them all look into the park though only Vil scoffed at seeing who it was. Epel had taken his chance and raced into the park while Vil was distracted. In the Pomfiore trunks with a cropped halter top and his short hair pulled back into a tight ponytail, he sent them all a nasty smirk of victory, quickly grouping up with Ace and Deuce. The two freshmen sitting in an area they had claimed with enough space for all their friends to rest once they had arrived.
Vil grumbled, shoving the wristbands into a Pomefiore student's hands once his dorm had walked closer, “Thinks he's ‘Too good for sunscreen’- Rook.” He snaps his fingers, the blond seeming to appear from Vil's shadow, and hands him a super soaker. Vil shakes the gun once, making sure it was properly loaded before aiming into the air and firing.
Yuu, Kalim, and Jamil all watched in a shared muted fascination as a stream of semi-translucent liquid shot from the gun, arching high before splattering all over Epel's exposed back, making the freshman scream and curse as the no doubt cold liquid hit him without warning.
Epel whipped around, eyes bewildered and body shaking from adrenaline, “VIL, WHAT THE FUCK!?”
Vil smiled, handing the gun back to Rook who happily made his way into the park, yelling to Epel while miming that he was rubbing his arms, “Rub that in! Have fun with the other potatoes!” Vil turned to Yuu, lowering his shades and cocking a brow as he gave their swimsuit a look over, “Did you put on sunscreen?”
“Vil, we both know if we fight in this parking lot only one of us will be ok with a titty slipping free.”
“...” The third-year sighed, rolling his eyes and walking into the park.
Jamil glared, mentally following through a plan to wrangle Yuu into submission to spray them down, “Did you put on sunscreen?”
Yuu looked away, smiling lightly as they waved Jamil's question off and mumbled.
Tumblr media
Yuu had slowly become annoyed. The Ignihyde buses had yet to appear and their anger only grew as the Diasomnia buses pulled in. They slam their head on the podium, groaning as they wonder just how much longer they'd have to wait to finally enjoy the park themselves. Soon, their beloved Dia-quartet had walked over, the rest of their dorm in two neat lines behind them.
Lilia was already fanning himself, an old black wicker sunhat somehow comically big yet resting on his head. While he was wearing the Diasomnia-themed swim shorts, his upper body was completely hidden by a black shawl that mimicked bat wings, “Diasomnia all accounted for Beastie!” Seeing Yuu had kept their head resting against the podium, he poked at their head gently, “Are you upset that we took so long? You know it takes time to look this cute…”
Yuu sighed, holding their head up and passing the wristbands to Lilia to pass out, “I'm happy, I swear. I'm just also pissed because I know for a fact that you guys left after Ignihyde and somehow you got here before them…”
Sebek hummed, snapping his wristband on without hesitation, “We passed them, I believe…they were pulled over at the side of the road.”
Silver nodded, helping Lilia pass the wristbands out as the Diasomnia members walked into the park, “Their buses might have broken down…”
“...” Yuu turned to Malleus with a small smile, the taller fae already smiling back at them from under his modified sunhat. The horned fae was fully covered, a floor-length cover-up that looked close to a shirt dress with a small green ribbon tying it closed. Fluttering their eyelashes, Yuu cooed sweetly, “Malleus~? Could you maybe…bring them here?”
“For you, my love? Of course.” With a snap of his fingers, the tell-tale sweep of pressure that followed Malleus’s magic moved through the area. The magic moving and condensing to an empty part of the parking lot. Suddenly three buses materialized, suspended a few feet off the ground before crashing down and making the students inside scream at the jostling.
“Oh! Malleus, don't shake them.”
The Diasomnia warden hummed, holding his hand out for Sebek to clip his wristband on as he gave the buses a pensive look, “I didn't think a few feet would matter. I will admit I was wrong.”
“Yeah, a few feet airborne from a car standpoint is a lot. You guys get into the park and I'll make sure no one got whiplash…” Yuu still took the time to pull Malleus down, pressing their lips together before rushing to the new buses, “Thank you again! Lilia, tell Cater if you see him that his selfie stick is here!”
Yuu ran over, keeping a wide breach of the buses just to make sure they didn't tip over onto them or keep rolling. Soon the doors opened, shell shocked Ignihyde students all stumbled out groaning. From one of the buses, Yuu watches as Ortho carries out a paler-than-normal-looking Idia. She sighed, running a hand through her hair as she looked over the bewildered students, “Please tell me no one broke a bone. Crowley gave me a quota for broken bones and I can’t use it all up on you guys.”
Ortho places his brother on the curb, saluting Yuu with a cheerful ding, “I did a brief medical scan of everyone before dismounting the bus, Prefect Yuu! No broken bones to account for…Though my brother states his ankle hurts…”
Idia flinched back as Yuu's eyes turned to him, the shorter student standing over him in his vulnerable position as she smiled ‘sweetly’
“Oh! Idia, does your ankle hurt? Want me to check it?”
Idia was almost 80% positive that meant she was really going to break his ankle just to prove a point. He turned away, his hood going firmly over his head in a desperate attempt to protect himself, “No! Just…just a phantom pain, I guess? Hahaha…haaaa…the buses teleporting was a major jumpscare…”
“I will apologize for that. Malleus didn't really think through that vehicles don't like being airborne…” They smile wider, holding their arms out before gesturing to Idia’s Ignihyde-themed swimwear and coverup, “But hey! Look at you! Showing off your translucent skin! I told you you'd have fun when you got here.”
Idia grimaced, zipping his coverup closed and doing his best to shove his legs into the loose fabric, “I told you I didn't wanna come…”
“And I told you this was mandatory. Anyway! Ortho! You got a swimsuit?”
He beamed, having waited patiently to show off his new outfit shell, “Nii-san made it fully sealed so I can get into the water! I also have an attachable waterjet system that I'm very excited to try out.
“Do a spin!”
Ortho laughed, executing a perfect twirl on one leg to show his form. Ortho's body still couldn't wear actual clothing so Idia improvised. There were bright blue lights etched into his limbs, other pathways of black and a darker blue making more water motif designs. His black shorts-looking shell seemed more flexible than his normal outfits and his goggles were a slowly scrolling rainbow display. Yuu thought Ortho's feet looked like mini speed boats to her delight.
“OH! Baby boy, Ortho! You look like you're ready for fun in the sun~.”
Idia sighed, trying to draw his cover up hood tighter around his face, “Can’t I just stay on the bus…?”
“Idia~!”
They all look to the park entrance, Cater standing and waving his arms to make sure his boyfriend saw him. Standing in his Heartslabyul-themed swim shorts, he had a patterned white button-up opened to show his top scars with their vanity diamond design, and blue-tinted shades resting on his pulled-back hair, “There you are! I've been waiting forever! Come on, I've got a perfect spot for us to chill at before I start taking pics for my cam!”
The elder Shroud slowly emerged from his cover-up, eyes wide and almost sparkling at the vision of his boyfriend, “Whoa… ultra rare topless Cater…this…this is an SR event. No, SSR-”
Yuu lightly nudged Idia toward the gates, other Ignihyde Students already having grabbed their wrist brands and entering the park, “Can you just go and spend the day with your boyfriend so I can finally go fun?”
Giving one last scowl, Idia sighed and pulled his cover-up over his head and made his way toward a cheering Cater. He wasn't going win against Cater, his brother, and Yuu. Some quest's rewards just weren't worth the grinding…
With a smile, Yuu cheered, doing a small dance in victory, “Finally! Time for me to actually have some fun. Ortho, you wanna sit with me and the other Firsties? Ace and Deuce promised to save chairs for all of us.”
Ortho beams, his goggles showing decals of stars, “Sure! Thank you for inviting me along, Prefect Yuu. I can show everyone my water jet pack!”

*As far as I can tell, the Dark Mirror is the only like...personal sized mirror capable of extended long-distance travel. But I made it so there are massive transportation stations that use the mirror's blue prints to create massive manmade portals that they can control the locations to. Making over seas travel a breezy weekend trip, though it can STILL be very expensive to buy same day travel trickets.
But since these stations are of course more like bus/train stations, you'll normally need to take other methods of travel to get to an exact location. I just like the idea of trapping these fuckers in vehicles together and I will be doing it more often.

tom
richard got back to the US with sophie and put her in rehab. she went willingly. he told annie he needed a little time, so she stayed away for a while.
tom picked her up on the night alicia's parents were having her to dinner. it was snowing a little. annie put tom's hand between her legs as they drove and he got her off before they pulled into the driveway. that helped her feel less nervous.
alicia's parents were very sweet and friendly. they showed her around the house including alicia's bedroom, which looked vaguely like a teenager lived there but had been making efforts to cover it up. annie got the sense that her parents' house, just outside the city, was still a little refuge for alicia and annie was jealous that she had such a thing.
alicia's mother melissa was in fact her spitting image, and her father, jack, was more or less an older clone of tom. they had dinner and they asked annie dozens of questions about herself. they were fascinated by her career and what led her to follow the family business.
by the time dinner and dessert was over, annie was a little tipsy and it was snowing very hard, and melissa immediately stated that tom and annie would crash at their house. annie didn't object, as she realized that since the parents didn't know she and tom were now fucking, she'd be staying in alicia's room.
they played a board game during which annie got drunker, and then went to bed. annie was in her underwear in alicia's bed when tom came in.
"my room is guest room now," he said. "right next to theirs. i can hear them fucking in there."
"hot," annie said. she opened the blankets and pulled tom in. "is it weird to fuck in your sister's bed?" she asked as she got him hard.
"not really," he said. "she'd be happy for us."
they fucked just once, but enough to make annie cum twice. tom went back to his room after covering her panties with his cum.
annie was sitting up in bed, naked, looking at her phone, when someone knocked on the door. she assumed it was tom so she said, "come in."
it was in fact melissa, who looked at annie's tits, which annie did not cover up. "just wanted to make sure you had everything you need," melissa said. she was in a bra and panties, which annie thought was kind of hot. "alicia has plenty to wear in the drawer," she said. "i don't know if you normally sleep nude."
"i do," annie said.
"me too," she said with a smile. "but for the morning, anyway."
in the morning, annie walked downstairs in a tank top and a pair of alicia's panties. her father was alone in the kitchen and did a double take. "you know, other than your face and hair, you and alicia are like identical."
"so just our bodies," annie said. "yeah, we noticed."
he chuckled at that. "very compatible."
melissa stepped naked out of the bathroom after that. she was as tom had advertised. a body like alicia's, less tan, and with a thin layer of trimmed pubic hair.
"oh sorry annie," she said. "didn't know you were up."
"um, don't apologize for being hot," annie said.
melissa laughed. "you sound like alicia."
she went upstairs.
"honestly they have like identical bodies only alicia's fully shaved," annie told her father. he laughed.
"yeah i know," he said. "you younger women prefer the smooth look."
"not me," annie said.
"no?" he said.
"i have a full bush," annie offered. he didn't even look down at her panties even though she'd practically invited him.
"that's nice," he said. "i like that."
tom drove annie back into the city after breakfast. he was headed to the hospital to see alicia, but annie pulled him up to her apartment to fuck first. robbie and casey were still asleep in the bedroom.

The buzz of the overhead lights burn in your brain, somehow too loud as you stare, transfixed, into the bank of full length mirrors. Your reflection gazes back at you, and you can’t bring yourself to look away.
It was a silly advertisement that had you in an abandoned building in the dead of night, one you wouldn’t have normally taken if it wasn’t for the reward: money. Plain and simple. Enough money to pay off your rent for the next month, maybe even two if you played your cards right. The flier had promised extra if you filmed your night, and you’d jumped at the chance, checking out a shitty go pro from the tech department of your university that you hadn’t even known existed until now.
As sketchy as the premise was, it seemed legit. The flier had been old, paper made soft by time and frayed around the edges. It’d been nearly buried on the bulletin board, obscured by other notices of upcoming classes and offers of tutoring. But the offer was high and the phone number attached still worked. A bland sounding woman had answered, one you couldn’t put a face to no matter how hard you tired, and told you what to do, about the bonus for filming and how to acquire the go pro now strapped to your chest.
Now here you were, in the weird building. And…there was a room. A, well, normal room. A room that looked like it’d been just built, shiny and new, inside the near crumbling building. The hairs on the back of your neck prickled when you first saw it, the clean white walls nearly glowing in the filth of a neglected building left to rot. A strange anxiety settled in your bones, dread gnawing at your gut as you approached. Some part of you wanted to run, to forfeit any money you would have earned by staying in the building. Adrenaline raced up your spine as you got closer, almost compelled to enter the room, metal door knob strangely warm in your hand as it turned soundlessly.
Silly, it was silly of you. Why had you acted like that? Nothing was wrong now, as you stood in the enclosed room. Maybe it was part of the study this group was running? You guessed it was. Why else would there an empty room set up in an otherwise empty and ignored building? An empty room with lights and…mirrors. Mirrors. Only mirrors.
Your reflection gazed out at you, mimicking you as you slowly crept closer to the wall of mirrors. Something in the back of your brain reminded you of a trick to tell if a mirror was really a mirror or…well…not. Two way glass hanged in a mirror's place. But, that didn't make much sense either but, well, maybe? Why have two way glass? Why have a mirror, either? Why any of it?
None of it made sense. None of it. You shouldn't have answered the advertisement, shouldn't have gone to the building, shouldn't have opened the door to this weird ass room. Every cell in your body screamed at you to turn around, to leave.
You could leave. You could go back to your tiny apartment, cramped as it was, cluttered with books and papers. You could change into softer clothes and curl up under your blankets and sleep in a soft bed. You could figure out another way to earn some extra money, to keep your head above water as you juggled your school work and your job and your dwindling social life.
Eyes bored unblinking into yours, your own eyes, your mirror image.
You could leave.
The overhead lights were bright, harsh, every speck of your face illuminated and reflected back at you.
You should leave.
It was a simple trick. Press your finger to the glass and see if there was a space between the image and reality.
You wanted to leave.
Simple and easy and quick. The room full of the buzzing light, head full of buzzing light. Mirror full. Was it a mirror? You needed to know.
You needed to leave.
Hesitating, your hand hovers, reflected back, so close yet not touching, a miniscule amount of space between skin and glass.
Were there tears in your eyes? Your vision felt fuzzy but you can't tell why. Blinking it away didn't help. Your reflection mimicking the blinks back at you.
You press your finger to the glass.
Warmth.
Warmth of a fingertip pressed to yours, of another body tumbling against you, taking you to the ground.
It’s you. Your body on top of you, your hair and eyes and face. Your reflection. You, but not. There’s small differences, miniscule. A freckle where you could have sworn there was none, a brightness in the eyes that bore mania, a sharpness to the smile that made you shudder to have focused on you and to see on your own face.
“Finally,” you- they sigh. It’s your voice too, made strange in the other’s mouth. There’s a second tone to it, like someone speaking in time with them, their voice almost hidden under your own. It’s soft, breathy. You want to hate it, hate the person on top of you pinning you to the ground and their voice, but you can’t find it in you. Something about them makes you crave more. More of their voice, more of their touch.
But…you shouldn’t. You knew you shouldn’t. Something was wrong, very incredibly wrong.
You try to move, to wiggle out from underneath them, but your limbs feel heavy, leaden. Even blinking becomes a monumental effort. Their body is heavy on top of yours but it shouldn't do this to you, shouldn't make breathing feel like it’s more effort than it’s worth.
“Oh, how long I’ve been waiting,” they groan, bending to nuzzle their, your, face into the side of your neck. “I don’t remember though, how does this work? Oh, wait.” Their lips brush over the tender skin of your neck, hands trailing down your sides, stopping at the waistband of your pants. “I think…”
Scorching hot hands slip under your clothes, pulling a gasp from you, body jerking of its own accord.
“Don’t worry, don’t worry,” they coo, equally hot tongue trailing up the side of your throat. “It gets better, I promise.”
It’s too hot, you almost think you can smell your flesh cooking but there’s no pain, only a mild discomfort. A building discomfort. A discomfort that was seated in the pit of your stomach, in the joint between your thighs. Thighs that blistering hands were currently groping.
“I’ll find out every little thing about you.”
Their hand cups your groin and your brain goes blank. Hips jerking up without thought, you grind into their palm, pleasure washing over you, discomfort lessening. It’s euphoric, the way their fingers brush over you, a hand pinning your hip so you can’t keep mindlessly bucking into them as they laugh at your eagerness.
“I’ll be the perfect you.”
Their fingers travel down, prodding gently at your entrance. You tense at the unexpected feeling and, for a moment, you come back to yourself, try to shuffle back to no avail. Their fingers sink in with ease, curling and scissoring as your mouth drops open. A sound escapes you but you’re not even sure what it was. A groan of defeat? A moan of pleasure? A plea for a moment to think, to get your bearings, to stop? You don’t know, thoughts once again banished as their fingers hone in on a particular bundle of nerves inside you that made everything bright and brilliant. Like nothing you’d ever felt before, would never feel again.
“No one will know, no one will ever know.”
The lights spin above you, their buzzing becoming louder, almost drawing out the figure above you. Nasua mixes in with the pleasure and you let your eyes close. Their breath fans over your neck, their words murmured in your ear, their fingers still working your body as if they know all its secrets. The hand on your hip slides up your side, pushing your shirt up as they seek more skin. They make a tutting sound as they seem to notice the go pro on your chest for the first time. It seems they care about the camera’s view, abandoning caressing your torso to instead cup your lower back, helping you arch into their touch as their fingers assault you.
“All you have to do is let go, let me take care of everything.”
Something in their-your voice brings you back up from the fog of pleasure for a moment. Just enough time for fear to twist in the heat of your gut. Wrong. Everything is wrong and there’s something more to their words that you can’t even begin to puzzle out. Maybe if your head was clearer, if the lights were dimmer, if the buzzing stopped, if they stopped, you’d have a fighting chance to understand what was happening. You don’t, though. Not the faintest thought of a fighting chance. Your brain sinks back down into the fog and you do the only thing you can do: you let go.
You cum on your copy’s fingers, an almost inaudible sound escaping from the back of your throat. All the strength in your body seems to leave you as their fingers slip from your hole. If you could, you’re sure you’d be a puddle on the floor. As it is, you lay limp, boneless as they pull back.
There’s a licking sound. Loud, almost obnoxious. Like they want you to hear them, as if they’re putting on a show. Licking your fluids from their hand. You don’t move, can’t even open your eyes. Everything feels light: your body, your head, your breath. All your attempts to move are in vain, to the point where you give up trying at all.
Slowly, you start to feel more stable, more grounded. To the point you realize you’re standing. How did that happen? Did your reflection help you up at some point? Just how blissed out had you been?
Opening your eyes almost hurts, but you do it anyway. You’d gotten this far, after all.
You’re in the room, the all white room with its buzzing overhead lights. They don’t seem as loud now, not as bright. The first thing you see is the go pro, laying on the middle of the floor. Then, the person next to it. Eyes meet yours. Your eyes.
Your reflection, free from the mirror.
Moving is impossible, no matter how hard you try. It’s only as they give you a cheeky wave they move, your arm coping theirs.
A scream bounces in your skull, trapped in your throat, as you realize you’re trapped on the wrong side of the glass.

Need to break the rules (descendants core four + Ben modern au) for the WIP Wednesday ask!
Hi JJ! Thanks for the ask!! This is a core four + Ben modern au feat. Tattoo artist!Mal and reformed!good boy Ben
Ben knocks on the door of apartment 314 bright and early Sunday morning.
Well, if one considers eleven twenty-three bright and early, which he does not, normally.
But normally, he wouldn’t even be at 314. He wouldn’t have even noticed the small purple flier on an already crowded bulletin board in the dining hall.
Normally- if he’d even seen it at all- Ben would have sighed at the looping font advertising stick and poke tattoos out of some apartment near campus.
The whole thing screamed a walking infection just waiting to happen. A random apartment couldn’t possibly be that clean, let alone professional. But Ben was also drowning under the weight of the expectations that had been placed on him the second he was born. Heck, the second his parents had found out they were having a son.

Prologue.
It’s a dark and stormy night, A portal opens over the rooftop of an apartment building and I fall through, there are two open and raw wounds on my back and I am weak from the fight I just came from. The portal closes and I lay on the roof for a few minutes before I prop myself up and cough up a blood clot. I groan and stand up slowly, moving to the fire escape and climb my way down steadily and land in the alleyway. I’m in a new and unfamiliar universe. I look to where the sidewalk was and see that it is bustling with people even though its night outside. I hold onto my side and hold onto the wall as I walk to the street to see where and when I am exactly. When I reach the street, I look around to see bright lights on advertisement boards selling different kinds of food. The lights are so bright that I had to give myself a moment to let my eyes adjust to the brightness in contrast to the darkness of the alleyway. I saw Japanese kanji on the billboard which told me that I was in Japan at least. It seemed to be slightly futuristic so I was in a time somewhere in the 21st century so that was good. I stood up straighter even though it hurt badly with chunks of flesh missing from my shoulder blades that had been freshly scarred over just before I was dropped into this universe. I must have drawn attention because I heard someone scream, I turned and saw a woman pointing at me. My eyes widened and I almost fell over until something large and orange caught me.
“Hey, easy there. You look lost. Can I help you?” The person attached to the large, orange gloved hand spoke. This man was larger than me in height and size. But he didn’t come across as a threat. He seemed like a nice person so I let myself relax in his hand as he helped me off to the side to talk. “Yeah. I need help… I just dropped in here through a portal and I think I’m lost. I’m not from around here.” I told him.
“That’s good. I need to ask you a few questions before we decide what to do next. Let’s start with your name. Mine’s Taishiro, but you can call me Fatgum. What’s your name?” He asked. “My name is Bryant… Bryant Saki.” I spoke. “Nice to meet you, Ms. Saki. Let’s get you down to the police station where you can fill out some forms, okay?” Fatgum spoke. “Alright.” I responded and he carried me to the nearest police station. Little did I know, this was the beginning of my new life here.
**********
We arrived at the police station and Fatgum informed the officer of my situation. As he did so, I looked around the room, seeing several individuals with some kind of change to their appearance. One of the officers in the station had a head like an orange cat and they were talking to a person in a business suit with the head of a spotted dog. I wasn’t too weirded out by this as I have seen stranger things in my time. I looked at a television to see that there was an attack in a place called ‘Tatooin Station’ in a city called Mustafu. There were two attacks there today, one earlier in the day with a villain that could increase their overall size that caused a disturbance in the rush hour traffic. A group of people called ‘heroes’ stopped the villain and rescued the civilians. That was good. I noticed that the heroes wore flashy costumes to separate them from the crowd. That made sense. Does this mean that Fatgum is a hero too? He wore a bright yellow hoodie with orange gloves and boots which definitely made him stand out. I waited until he came back with a clipboard and a pen and told me to fill out the form. I couldn’t do this though as the from was in Japanese and I couldn’t read what was on the form. “Are you a hero? You look like the ones on the television.” I spoke and pointed to the television showing the news. Fatgum looked and nodded. “Yeah! I’m a Pro Hero. There’s a lot of them here. If you’d like, I can introduce you to a couple of my friends when we get out of here.” He offered. I nodded and looked back at the form on the clipboard then back up at him. “I can’t read this. Can you help me?” I asked and handed him the clipboard.
“Of course.” He spoke and read off the items on the form to me and I filled out the answers. Once we were done at the police station, I waited outside the station for Fatgum, who soon came out of the building and looked to me. “Well then, You’re all set. Do you have a place to stay until you get on your feet?” He asked. “No, I don’t. I was going to find a shelter until I could get a job or find a place of my own.” I told him. “That’s a good plan, but I have a space at my apartment that’s currently empty. I also need an assistant at my agency, and you seem to fit the job, you want it kid?” He asked. I nodded and shook his hand, sealing the opportunity and moving into his apartment.

(closed for @malltms )
Ugh. That was what Leo was thinking as he looked at the flier pinned to the bulletin board at The Blue Sparrow. It was colorful to the point of garishness, and there were too many exclamation points for his liking; he could already tell that this 'Reina' person was going to bubbly and cheerful, and he was already feeling exhausted just thinking about it. But this was the only flier that advertised guitar lessons, and Leo needed them because teach himself wasn't going as well as he would have hoped. While he knew the basic chords, he felt sort of stuck now, and he knew he'd need more than a book, even with his musical aptitude (he generally picked up the basics of various instruments relatively easily). For a moment, Leo looked around the board to make sure there weren't any other fliers hidden underneath others, perhaps one advertising guitar that didn't look like a box of crayons had thrown up on it, but this was all there was. So Leo took a pen out of his pocket and jotted the number down on his hand with a sigh.
The next morning, Leo sprang awake suddenly, not sure for a moment where he was. Then he realized he'd fallen asleep at the table in his apartment, half of a beer nearby. As he reached for it to throw it out, Leo noticed the writing on his hand, and he groaned because he realized it was smudged. He could barely make it out now, but he thought he could just make out the number. So he walked over to his phone in the kitchen and dialed, holding the receiver with his shoulder while he tried to open a bottle of Tylenol at the same time. When someone answered, Leo asked, "Yeah, is this..." He paused, trailing off as he tried to read the smudged name he'd written on his hand. "Is this, um, Rina?" Leo wondered. "I think it's Rina at least?" And then suddenly he remembered, exclaiming, "Reina! That's it. Is this Reina?" He knew he was not coming off well in this conversation with the stranger, especially since he had yet to mention what he was calling about, so Leo quickly explained, "I saw your flier about the guitar lessons and was wondering, uh...if you were still accepting new students."

Chapter 1: A Woman's Worth
"'Cause a real man, knows a real woman when he sees her And a real woman knows a real man ain't afraid to please her"
Kate was rarely one to wander around but she had never really had spare time to just search for a hobby. She wanted to try painting but considering she was an art teacher, the idea of doing art in her spare time just seemed like the antithesis of what she was meant to be doing.
Kate had been juggling 2-3 jobs since her early twenties and on her 25th birthday right after Mary's father, the last of the Sheffields died and left her a considerable sum, Mary decided that Kate no longer needed more than 1 job and that her stepmother would pay for a new apartment and a hobby for Kate to 'try something new'. So Kate picked her favourite of her jobs, Art Teacher at a local college, and was now at the community centre in central London, looking for a hobby on the centre's notice board.
There were a lot of advertisements for art classes as well as guitar lessons. There was a time in her childhood when Kate wanted to learn an instrument, the flute. She was in lessons for about a month when Kate quit because she hated the idea of being bad at something for as long as she was. She had matured since then and thought it would be a good idea to take it up again. She looked around the notice board for anyone who might be a flute instructor, but there wasn't. It was a shame so Kate took out her phone to Google for an instructor when someone bumped into her.
The person was walking with someone shorter than him and talking and laughing and not paying attention to the fact that they just bumped into Kate "Hello! Rude much?" Kate said to the back of the raven-haired men.
They both turned and Kate thought for a moment she was in trouble but one of the men looked apologetic and the other seemed to be appraising her appearance. The taller one with a charismatic smile stepped up to her and said "I'm so sorry. Me and my brother have a knack for causing trouble wherever we go,"
"Speak for yourself Ben, I was not the one who bumped into this beautiful woman," the other one said giving Kate a wide smile.
Kate thought the shorter of the brothers was more attractive in a dark way but she was not going to show it so she put on a neutral expression, "Well next time please be careful, I almost dropped my phone,"
"My apologies again. Are you thinking about taking one of these classes?" The taller one, Ben, asked.
"I might have been but nothing here is what I wanted so I was just leaving," Kate said as she made to leave.
"Bridgerton Community Centre has a wide range of classes is there anything you were looking for in particular?" The shorter handsome one asked.
Kate thought it was worth a try and said "A flute instructor,"
"Flute?! That's a dreadful instrument," Ben said before his brother elbowed him.
"A flute instructor is one of the few instructors we do not have, unfortunately," The handsome one replied.
"We? Do you run the centre?" Kate asked.
"Run and own. We are the Bridgertons," The handsome one extended his hand "Anthony Bridgerton at your service. If you want I can take your number down and if we ever get a flute instructor I could give you a call,"
Kate scoffed, "Can I see some ID?"
Anthony smiled fished in his pants and handed her his ID "Not easily trusting are we?"
Kate eyed his ID and then handed it back to him "Well I guess you are telling the truth. How long will it take for you to get a flute instructor?"
"A couple of weeks," Anthony said.
Kate was unconvinced "Yeah that's too much time to wait, I think I will just Google. Thanks anyway,"
Kate turned to leave but then she felt a hand on her elbow "Wait, why don't you try lessons for a different instrument?" Anthony asked her walking until he was in front of her again.
"I used to go to lessons for the flute. I was just thinking about picking up the hobby again,"
"Well if you wanted to broaden your horizons and try something completely brand new why not take guitar lessons? My brother Colin is the instructor and-"
"No thanks," Kate interrupted "Guitar is an instrument that everyone knows how to play,"
"So you're looking for something a bit more unique? How about piano?" Anthony finger snaps at his brother who takes a flyer down from the notice board and hands it to him.
"Piano is not exactly a unique instrument either,"
"Maybe not but it is difficult to learn. Especially as people age,"
"And it is an instrument that most people like to hear being played," Ben said as he came closer to his brother, who elbowed him again after his comment.
"I don't know..." Kate said sceptical. She did not want to give this guy the satisfaction.
"Just try it out for 3 lessons. On the house, and if you do not like it or find it easy then we can go from there. I'm sure by then we would have found a flute instructor," Anthony's brown eyes looked at her pleading so Kate looked down to take a number from the flyer.
"There isn't a number to tear away from the flyer. I'm pretty sure that means the class is full," Kate said.
"No, it's not,"
"And how would you know that?" Kate asked.
"Yeah Ant, how would you know that?" Ben asked, now smiling at his brother.
"I'm the instructor and I mostly do one-on-one sessions with adults so there is no such thing as full,"
"You're the instructor?" Kate asked incredulously. 'How convenient?' she thought.
"Yep. Why don't you take my number down and call if you are interested? That way the ball is in your court," He said.
Kate nodded and Anthony relayed his number to her. She left the centre feeling confused. There was something off about the brothers but Kate had taken multiple self-defence classes and carried around brass knuckles and a taser so she felt as if she was in the cross-hairs of a serial killer at least she had the tools to defend herself. Then again, serial killers are only ever as handsome as Anthony on TV so she felt like she was safe enough.
--
"So tell me, when did you quit your job as a developer to be a piano instructor?" Benedict asked his brother a while after the beautiful woman left the building.
"I haven't but I was losing her interest, I had to try something," Anthony replied shrugging.
"So why didn't you just give her Daphne's number? You remember Daphne right? The actual piano instructor in the family,"
Anthony turned to his brother confused "Ben why do you think we are here right now? Daphne does not give lessons anymore she's five months pregnant. We came here to remove her from the schedule,"
"I see, but that does not answer the question of how you are going to be a piano instructor?"
"I've been playing the piano my whole life Ben, surely instructing someone won't be too difficult,"
"Have you ever thought about what if the young lady is not interested in taking you up on your offer? Or what if she is not interested in taking your relationship further than that of teacher-student?" Ben asks as they reach the community centre's main office. His mother, Violet ran the centre but she had been a bit busy with Daphne's pregnancy news so Anthony volunteered to take care of a few things in her busy schedule.
"Contrary to popular belief just because I stopped actively partying and dating does not mean I lost the ability to charm women," Anthony said.
"And what happens when she drop-kicks you for lying to her? She looks like the punching type," Benedict asked.
"She won't and what makes you think she can drop-kick me?"
"I don't know brother, I just think you might have your work cut out for you with this one," Benedict said with a smile on his face and Anthony scowled.
--
Kate was restless. It was the second Saturday she had slept in and she could not believe how bored she was. She tried watching a few K-Dramas but besides 'Goblin' and 'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?' she could not get into new shows. She took Newton for a walk and listened to music she had not heard in a while but again she was bored.
The advantage to living with her stepmother and sister for as long as she did was that Kate never had to come back to an empty home. And even though she loved Newton, Kate worried that being couped up with her dog would turn her into one of those people who pushed strollers with their dogs in them. Kate really needed a life.
She went on Google and saw an old search for a flute instructor and then she remembered that she had taken the number of the guy who gave piano lessons, Anthony. He was handsome but Kate felt something was off with him. Kate knew the Bridgertons had money and they were hands-on with the community centre but she wondered more about Anthony himself. She immediately went to type his name in and then felt bad.
If she was really about to get herself a life, Kate needed to stop worrying about knowing every little thing about people and just go with the flow. That's what all the books say. So what if these people were rich? So what if he could afford to take the time to teach her piano? Kate would be a fool to at least not take him up on the free 3 lessons. She could always try something else if he turned out to be a creep. She carried pepper spray and brass knuckles for a reason.
So, Kate sent a quick message to Anthony:
Kate: 'Hi, my name is Kate. You gave me your number a week ago. You said you were a piano instructor.'
Anthony: 'Hi, Kate. Took you long enough. You never told me your name. I will add it to my contacts. Yes I am free to instruct you.'
Kate: 'OK great, when can we start?'
Anthony: 'When are you free?'
Kate: 'Don't most instructors have teaching times? I can work around those.'
Anthony: 'How about Saturdays around 2-4pm? Or Sunday 2-4pm or Thursdays 12-2pm?'
Kate: 'Saturday and Sunday times are good for me. Sign me up.'
Anthony: 'Alright I will see you then :)'
Kate: 'Where is that exactly? The community centre?'
...
...
Anthony: 'No, the community centre's piano was removed after the flooding last year. 116 Darling Drive, West London. I'll put your name down as someone to expect.'
Kate: 'Okay got it. Thanks see you next week.'
Anthony: 'See you next week.'
There. Kate had her hobby scheduled. Now to fill the time this weekend. Maybe her friend Sophie was free.
--
Anthony had just gotten off the phone with Benedict, begging to use his old art studio to give Kate piano lessons. He spent half of the time dodging Benedict's questions about why he was trying so hard and the other half ignoring his innuendos about not sullying his furniture.
Anthony had spent the last week learning about how to be an effective instructor and knew what his first lesson with Kate was going to be about: First Proper Piano posture and technique and then the basics of reading piano music sheets.
Anthony felt once they got the basics down then it was just about getting her to play and aiding her along the way. Anthony feels like that would only take 3-4 weeks, he thinks then he could pawn her off on someone else and then make his move.
He did not usually work this hard to be with a woman but he felt like she was special and he promised his mother that he would take more time with love and try to find a proper partner for himself. He only hoped that he could get Kate to see he was a good guy before letting her know who he really was.
Starting off a relationship with a lie was not something he wanted to do so he promised he would not try anything with her until he told her the truth. If she saw the good in him like he saw the good in her then maybe this would be just a funny story they told their kids.

hmm meet cute (or meet ugly) in a liminal space like an airport or waiting room maybe??
The departure board changed, declaring their train to be delayed by fourty minutes.
Sirius swore, the heavy rain drenching as they ran to the inside waiting area. They pushed the door open, revealing the grey, bare room. A few seats were scattered around the edges of the room, but only one person was inside. In the centre was a table covered in newspapers, the walls filled with a clock and various posters about safety or advertisement.
Sirius sat on the left side.
They pulled out their phone, to find twenty missed calls already. They immediately pocketed the device and through their head back in annoyance.
The man across the room looked up from his paper, and Sirius caught his eye.
They both looked away immediately.
A few moments later, Sirius eyed the stack of newspapers. As the boredom took over them, they went to grab one.
A hand touched theirs, and Sirius glanced up into amber eyes. In that moment, they felt a warmth, despite the coldness of the man's skin. Their faces were but inches apart, and Sirius couldn't help turning their gaze slightly to the stranger's lips.
"Sorry", the man suddenly pulled back, "you can have it."
Sirius didn't move, "Thank you."
The stranger grabbed a different paper, and was back in his seat.
Sirius tried to do the same, but as they turned the page, they felt someone watching them.
They glanced up, and saw, for a moment, the stranger's eyes quickly moving downwards to the newspaper in his hands.
Sirius was caught by his hands, short nails unevenly cut, but had perfect blue nail varnish painted onto them. He wasn't wearing any rings, but a small tattoo of a flower poked out of his sleeve.
And then, Sirius noticed, the newspaper was upside down. And as he flicked his eyes upwards to the stranger's face, again, his eyes quickly moved downwards. The stranger was checking them out.
Sirius grinned, and leaned back in their seat, discarding their own paper.
"Hey, what's your name?"
The man looked up, confusion etching in his brows as he replied, "Remus."
Sirius tilted their head in a way they knew was cute, "Remus. Beautiful name, very fitting."

They had often thought of the sigil as a pin. They were a butterfly, always fluttering through times and places, a fleeting presence in countless lives, all changing on a wingbeat. The sigil was the pin that held them to the display board, keeping them under the gaze of one sun, one moon, one year and month and day. The pin pierced their soul and, much as they bucked against it, would not let them go.
But they have been stabbed with many more things by now. Doctor Caroline wouldn’t be out of place in some housewife advertisement from decades prior, all soft curves and sweet plaited hair, but there is no softness in her. She is fond of needles, scans and scalpels. She has taken a pound of flesh and more, blood daily, and looked into every part of them more deeply than anyone before. Even their beloved doctor Melanie, when they had been so sick they could barely breathe, had never picked them apart for view.
But nothing was sacred to Caroline. She took anything and everything. The only thing that held her back was the fear that they could be killed through some careless dissection. Kurt insisted on keeping them hooked up to whatever pins gave them food-that-wasn’t-food and blood-that-wasn’t-theirs.
Northlight has already lost count of the endless, excruciating days. They are slow and full of torment, and then empty of anything but the occasional face at the window of the room they are kept in, as the students peek and check on them. Sometimes Lachlan comes and washes them, or changes one of the bags on their rack, but he never speaks to them despite their efforts.
He seems to be nothing more than an errand boy for Caroline, performing menial tasks at snapped orders, his eyes down and his voice silent. He doesn’t take part in experiments like the students do, until one day perhaps a week in, when he sits down in the chair next to Northlight’s table-bed without his lab coat on.
Northlight turns their head to look at him, and then turns back as Caroline steps through the transparent doors, flicking on all of the fluorescent lights overhead and near-blinding Northlight. Her hair is coiled around itself today, pinned to the back of her head out of the way. They have learned to use her hairstyles as a warning system. With it completely restrained, they know it will be a serious day.
The room they’re kept in is plain, white-grey and windowless. The buzzing overhead strips are the only source of light, and the air is kept circulated by a vent that never turns off. The sound brushes along their arms like horsehair, and the light drills gently on their wrist. Caroline’s voice trumpets over it all: “I’ll begin shortly. Prepare the injury site.”
Northlight expects to be hurt, but Lachlan simply takes off his shirt, which is as ragged and off-colour as the rest of him. Setting it aside, he sits up straight and puts his arms behind him, resting around the chair’s back.
The damned muzzle keeps their thoughts in, pressed so tightly they don’t know if it will ever come separate from them again, but they wonder as they watch him, why are you sitting as though you are tied down?
Caroline doesn’t notice or remark, maybe even expects this from him. She has one of her many scalpels in hand, and Northlight tenses for pain. “Head back,” she instructs.
Lachlan straightens further, turning his eyes up to the ceiling. Northlight looks back at him with widening eyes as the doctor approaches him. The boy’s chest rises and falls rapidly until Caroline is right in front of him, at which point he holds his breath, tensing and ready.
He has a scar down the centre of his chest, Northlight realises, its raised edge a darker brown than the rest of Lachlan’s skin. This has happened before.
The doctor cuts a deep incision, just a finger’s width from the scar. Lachlan doesn’t make a sound, but his eyes close tightly, brow crumpled.
“Mouth open,” Caroline says, her eyes tightly focused on him. Lachlan parts his lips, and as Northlight watches, she holds a pipette over him and allows two droplets to fall into his throat. He swallows.
Caroline straightens, bringing around a metal stand that has something round on top, a red light awake upon its front. Northlight has seen that thing pointed at them many times, but never at anyone else.
Lachlan shudders. His breathing continues in harsh pants through his nose. A drop of blood rolls gently down his front, glimmering in the fluorescent light. For what purpose is a human bled? Is this what he is kept here for?
Caroline doesn’t move. She watches the injury closely, barely blinking. Her hands are resting on her trousers, her fists clenched. Lachlan’s laboured endurance seems to mean nothing to her.
Northlight is starting to worry the boy will pass out by the time something in his breathing changes. Sweat shines on his brow, but he opens his eyes, suddenly breathing deeply. His eyes stare at the ceiling, and Northlight sees the reason for his change. The incision is shrinking, skin coming back together slowly, forming a scar as neat as its neighbour, though still slick with fresh blood. It takes minutes to do, much faster than Northlight’s own wounds heal.
Caroline suddenly moves, wiping the blood away with a cotton swab. Lachlan’s breath hitches in fear, but nothing comes of it. The scar seems fresh, like a scab picked off too soon, but there is no further bleeding.
“It worked?” Lachlan gasps, still holding position with his wrists held to the chair’s back. “It worked, that was – the divine?”
Caroline straightens. “Yes. Just short of ten minutes.”
Lachlan’s face falls. The awe has already been snuffed out, even though he has just been given the gift, the power to heal. That was what Irene built the cult on – Northlight’s blood as a panacea. Surely he wouldn’t be doubting now.
“Still not fast enough,” the young man says with a sigh.
“Indeed.” Caroline is already preparing another pipette, drawing from a glass container of blood. “But we will persist. More of the vertical chest cut today, and then we can vary factors from tomorrow.”
“Yes, doctor.” The boy lifted his head back for the new scalpel. His lips moved in a soft prayer. Drink of the life, of the blood, of the time.
Northlight knows the rest already, having heard it over and over.
Pity the body, ply the divine.

I’d wanted to do costume stuff with Rogue today and potentially get photos. but at like 10am the barn owner’s son posted “oh surprise we’re having the barn pressure washed and painted today so basically nobody can go near the barn or access it at all” and i just.
I am actively seeking out other boarding opportunities again now bc I am just so sick of the absolute lack of management of this facility. The owner is so hard to get ahold of, is always fucking off to florida for days on end with no notice to the boarders because we’re all assumed to just be telling each other about it (nobody tells me anything), and the barn manager is an unhinged maniac who treats her animals like shit and is never not badmouthing the boarders, workers, and literally everyone else on earth who isn’t her (because she, of course, is perfect). She’s one of those “yeah I gotta bad attitude, not my problem! you all gotta DEAL with it!” types of Awful People.
And it’s like I’ve put up with it for what, 4 years at this point? It’s a miracle I haven’t fought anybody bc I just keep my head down, pay my board, and don’t start shit. But whenever I stand up for myself I get attitude for it. I asked for months to get a fucking shelter for my horses and the solution was “we put a shelter in a different paddock and will move them to that paddock”. I hate it.
Not to mention I befriended one of the workers who boarded her horse there. But then moved him. She quit this past Wednesday because it was like pulling teeth for her to ACTUALLY GET PAID FOR HER WORK? And the owner would constantly nickel and dime her and be like “it’s costing me too much to pay you”. MAYBE STOP BUYING PREGNANT HORSES THEN, IDIOT, or letting your stupid fucking daughter-in-law “run” the farm, while having ~7 board-free horses that are taking up stalls in your barn!
The owner’s biggest problem is that she is extremely conflict adverse and has never been able to actually put her foot down about anything. This leads to her being disorganized. The fences (where there are actual wood fences and not just electric wire) are falling apart 24/7 but hey, better get the barn pressure washed instead(?????).
Luckily. My connection with my former worker friend is helping out. Because she knows tons of people who board their horses in places that may not publicly advertise that they have boarding all the time (I understand why places wouldn’t do that). My biggest problem is I want my girls outside. Rain HATES the stall and they do not need to be in and out constantly. They like living outside. But so many places out here are Equestrian Facilities(tm) that are full of rich people and they charge $800 a month for board and they’re like “The stalls have pillows in it and your horse gets a private violin player”. Bitch, they’re animals. Fucking farm animals. Can you just give me a fenced pasture to put them in and feed them twice a day for me? Literally all I want. Most places don’t even have pasture board AVAILABLE and just. WHY!! why. Stupid. stupid.
But hey. wish me luck finding a new place. There’s only so much bad management and bullshit I can put up with for years on end.

Whumptober 2022 - No. 26 - Separated
DarkHawk, T
--
The bar was not hard to find. It was in the British section of Berlin and there was a row of British military vehicles parked in front of it along the Ku’damm.. The bicycles were long gone. The street was empty except for patrons making their way to and from Robbie’s. Those leaving were a little lighter on their feet and less likely to be on their own.
Jim parked his own army-issue Jeep among the others. He remembered this area from before the war. It would have been full of light and laughter. And now, in an hour or maybe less, it would be darker than a country road and a good deal harder to navigate with the pits and piles of rubble.
There was a message board on a boarded over window of the shop next door. It was covered with advertisements for trades, sales, and pleas for information about missing persons. Jim had thought about putting his own message up on a similar board near Ross’ old apart, but the thought that it would be there until it was ripped off or covered up with another notice prevented him from doing so.
The bar was not what he had been expecting. A band was playing music he recognized, the tables were covered with white clothes, and food was being served on actual dinnerware.
Jim spotted the man he had come to see almost immediately. He was younger than Jim had expected, but he had the scar over his eye and had claimed a corner table. And there were a couple of women seated around him. All was as expected.
“Günter?”
The man nodded, “And you’re Jim? Karl mentioned you.” He looked to Karl who was seated at the bar.
“Is it okay to talk?” Jim asked looking to the women.
Günter nodded. “The girls only know a handful of English words, most of them being swear words. Right Kiersten?”
The blonde woman seated to Günter’s right looked up. She smiled at Jim, “Hello.” Then she turned back to her plate of food.
Jim pulled out a chair and sat.
“So is there anything special you’re looking for? Something a bit out of the normal? Or just standard? You’re an officer, right?” He looked at the patch on Jim’s coat. “They’ll only go with officers, because then they can pretend that something more will come of it. And they’re all clean, so you don’t have to worry about going home with pus between your legs. I insist on them seeing a doctor once a week. He takes care of any diseases, not that there are many with officers, but you never know, and any other inconveniences.” Günter raised his eyebrows.
Jim shifted, embarrassed. “No. That’s not why I’m here. Not the girls.”
“A boy then?” Günter asked. “They cost a bit more since I can only send them out once a night. They get all used up, you know?” He smiled, as friendly as any shopkeeper. “They’re clean, just like the girls. All Hitler Youth, they can even wear the uniform if you’d like.”
Jim’s ears burned. “No. No, you misunderstand. I’m here for information.”
Günter’s eyes narrowed. “Are you a cop? An MP?”
Jim shook his head. “I’m a reporter.”
Günter nodded. “And a friend of Karl’s. I suppose I can do my best. What sort of information are you looking for?”
Jim leaned forward, elbows on the table. “Someone made a lot of money at the market a few days ago and then he was killed and I’m looking for an idea of what he might have sold that would be worth that much.”
“How much did he have?”
“The Russians are saying 5,000 occupation marks, which means it’s probably close to 10,000.”
“I don’t deal in anything that expensive. Anything worth that much is probably dangerous. But he could have sold a property; that would get him a fair amount.”
Jim shook his head. “He came in from Frankfurt. He didn’t even have luggage.”
Günter considered for a moment, “Jewelry, watches in particular can fetch a good price. Medicine is also in high demand, but he’d need more than he could carry in his pockets to get 10,000. … Papers would get him that much.”
“Papers?”
“You know, identification papers, military discharge papers. The Germans would be the one’s buying those.”
“Persilscheins,” Jim said.
“To wipe away the sins and the buyer a fresh start. If it’s a good forgery your guy could have gotten 1,500, maybe 2,000 each. You know what, I’ve heard about another type going around that would fetch a lot more.”
Jim raised his eyebrows.
“I haven’t seen one myself, mind you. I don’t touch that shit. Too dangerous. Too dirty. Camp letters. Character witnesses to say that so-and-so hid them from the Nazis or that so-and-so was in the camp with them. The very best kind of persilscheins because no one thinks that someone would lie about something like that.”
“Why would they?”
“Quick money and a lot of it. And if you’re trying to get out…” Günter spread his hands.
“I’ll have to do more digging to see if that could be the case.”
“Anything else?”
“Yeah. I’m looking for someone I know that lived in Berlin.”
“Sometimes the message boards work.”
“Yeah, I’ve heard. But they’d have to be checking those and actually check the one where I put the notice. I also have someone checking the papers that have to be filled out to get a ration card, but they’d have to be in Berlin.”
“And alive.”
“I know,” Jim said tightly.
“Everything went to shit at the end.”
“I’ve heard.”
“When did you last see this person?”
“Four years ago,” Jim admitted.
Günter whistled. “That’s a long time, even if they are alive they could have fled the city years ago.”
“I know. I just want to know if there’s another way to find him.”
“I could always ask around, but no promises.”
Jim was about to give Günter Ross’ name and address and any other information that could be relevant when he saw Ross’ jacket in the crowd. But it couldn’t be. The waist was too thick, shoulders too narrow, but Jim could not tear his eyes away. The jacket was leather and tailored to Ross’ form; Jim had been with him when he purchased it.
The person wearing the jacket turned. Jim caught a glimpse of the bright blue liner, an extra cost because it was custom. And there was the patch on the sleeve from where a tree branch had punctured the thin leather. It was Ross’ jacket, but the person was not Ross, Jim could see that quite easily.
“Hey!” Günter exclaimed.
But Jim was already on his feet and shoving his way across the room to the man wearing Ross’ jacket. Jim had some questions for him.
