ACT ONE
Ext. Various locations around London - Morning
City waking up. Street’s full of car’s. Bustling pavements.
int. King’s Cross - St Pancras tube station - day
Dank. Cramped. LOUD. A tube train pulls into a station.
Carriage doors open.
A sea of black polished Shoes swarm out. Within a bright yellow pair of high top Converse, followed by a large suitcase with a squeaky wheel.
The odd duo follow the current to the escalator’s - though we do not see the face that belongs with them yet.
Int. King’s Cross station - morning
Station full of commuters bustling about their business.
Yellow Converse go through barrier’s, and finally we see; NINA MARTIN (15) - cute typical American girl-next-door. Naive and a little shy but with an inner strength and endlessly curious.
Nina looks around the station in awe.
Nina’s eyes fall on the display board.
It reads; “Merseyside - 10.00am - Platform 7”
Nina’s eyes widen. She glances to her watch; 09.45.
Nina rushes off, weaving her way through the crowed in a clumsy hurry. Apologising to any passersby’s she bumps into.
Ext. Amun Academy - main school - Day
Large estate of land.
Around it a scattering of ‘house’s’; For the select senior school student’s to live in.
At its center foreboding grand building; The main school hub - where younger student’s dorm as well as classes are held.
Laughter and chatter of students fill the air. Students lounge in the lavish grounds or walk in and out of the building.
A group of boys in football uniform run past the entrance. Following an older student and a PE teacher who are leading the run.
Patricia (VoiceOver) Joy! For godssake slow the hell down.
int. Amun Academy - west wing corridor - Day
Patricia (voiceover) Joy! Honestly!
TWO girls are seen rushing through a blazer clad field of students.
Leading the chase - JOY MERCER (15) - Pretty and fun- loving girl who is far too smart, even if she doesn’t use her brain’s for academic means.
Knowing smile on her face, as she clutches a LARGE LEATHER BOUND BOOK to her - expertly weaving around student’s.
Following her - PATRICIA WILLIAMSON (15) - headstrong, sharp-tongued and devastatingly good at put-downs. She is great fun to be around if she likes you, not so much fun if she doesn’t.
Joy Fabian hasn’t seen it yet!
Patricia’s eyes roll at her friend’s call - Barreling through the students unapologetically.
Patricia He could always see the bloody thing after school!
Joy’s black Mary-Jane’s race through a heavy wooden door.
int. train compartment - day
Yellow converse walk through a sliding door.
Nina glances around at the full compartment, clutching a brown bag to her. A phone at her ear.
Nina (on phone) Hi gran, just me checking in… again.
Nina slid into a seat.
Nina (on Phone) So you’ll be glad to know you were right, like always. There was a place I could by lunch on the train. Though… I think I’m too nervous to eat.
Nina glanced into the bag and pulls a face.
Nina (on Phone) I can already tell hear you laughing at me for that, you know. This is my big adventure, after all. I’ll phone you later tonight.
Nina lets out a sigh before hanging up the phone.
Nina put her head against the window. Eye’s fluttering shut.
Darkness engulfs’s her as the train enters a tunnel.
int. amun acadmey - west wing staircase - day
A compact mirror is opened, revealing - AMBER MILLINGTON (16) - Ditsy, likable and funny without meaning to be. Amber is the queen bee of the school.
She is a bit of a drama queen and is prone to over-exaggeration. Currently the girl is checking over her perfect makeup.
A ball of paper flies past her face. The Compact is slammed shut.
Amber looks around for who threw the paper.
On the stone staircase students from all year groups are watching an animated male on a landing between floors.
This is - ALFIE LEWIS (15) - a comic relief, Jerome’s sidekick. He’s a bit immature and has a personal obsession with UFOs/all things alien. He laughs hard but scares easily and is a bit hesitant about taking risks.
Alfie’s eyes are wide as he meet’s Amber’s gaze.
Alfie I’m so sorry Amber!
Amber gives the boy a withering look, before turning back to her mirror.
Alfie turns back to the crowd with a wide smile.
Alfie And for my next trick; Apology flowers… for almost hitting Miss Millington.
The students turned to glance at Amber. Small ‘Aww’s’ from a few younger girls.
Amber looks back at Alfie over her compact. Curious, despite herself.
Alfie gives the girl a besotted smile.
Door Creaks open
Alfies eyes then flicker up, to the small landing at top of the stairs.
A girl moves into view, casually leaning her arms over the banister. Playing with a STRAW BOATER HAT, a battered RUCKSACK over a shoulder.
This is - CAMILLA-ANNE RUTTER (15) - a wealthy, upper crust Brit and loathes everything about it. She is too smart for her own good, and has bad habit of speaking before she thinks. Camilla is a wild card, she has sharp eyes. Seeing everything.
Alfie’s eyes widen in worry. His head moving to the side of the stairs leading up to the landing.
Camilla follows the boy’s gaze. A smirk flickering onto her face - Alfie is playing distraction.
Stood away from the crowd, an older boy has a Pen drive dangling from a key chain, a waiting hand held out to a younger boy.
The older boy is - JEROME CLARKE (15) - calculating young man. He’s very guarded in his manner and style, you never quite know what he’s thinking except for the fact that he’s always up to something. He loves a shortcut to everything and always feels drawn to a scam or prank.
Alfie starts to mutter random nonsense waving his arms about, before pulling a bunch of fake flowers from inside his blazer sleeve.
-All ive got for now but thoughts?!
