these guys' only parental figure was a supervillain i think anthea and concordia should get to be a little weird and intense sometimes. as a treat

so today I will be spreading my "the Harmonia kids like each other and hang out" agenda

I'm so incredibly normal about Anthea and Concordia. Just like N they're orphans taken in by Ghetsis, and seemingly all they do within team plasma is care for N. In other languages they each have the title of 'goddess' or 'muse'. When you speak to them in Black and White they're both aware of the ways Ghetsis manipulated N, yet they did nothing - did they have any other options? Could they only watch? In both games they only ever speak about N. Concordia says that she doesn't "understand N's pure and innocent feelings", but she wants him to be happy and find his own goals. They have so much potential!!! Did they stay with the members of Team Plasma who still follow N because they wanted to, or because they had nowhere else to go? They've barely changed over the two years between BW and B2W2, swapping their more goddess-like outfits for more practical but just as feminine ones. Do they stay like this they want to, or because just as N was raised to be a king, they were raised to be caring, motherly 'goddesses'?

I noticed something when I was looking through my photos when searching for character references.

In the Gen V games, most characters have eye highlights.

The notable ones who don’t?

N, Colress, Anthea, Concordia, and the Shadow Triad.

Although a couple of other characters also lack eye highlights, I find this lot the most notable because they all have one thing in common:

They were all in Team Plasma, and consequently have worked under or interacted with Ghetsis.

It makes me think, y’ know?

Did Ghetsis do something to them? With N, we know he was abusive, but what about the others?

The Triad, for example, always look pretty tired and have a constantly slouched posture.

I dunno. Maybe I'm thinking way too hard about this.

But taking into account the kind of person Ghetsis is, I wouldn’t be surprised if he DID do something.

A+C only have table scraps of characterization, but what they do have in the games is so compelling to me. Anthea's conviction against all odds that Pokémon training is good. Concordia's sharp awareness of how Ghetsis was deliberately twisting N to his will. Both of them apparently clever and canny enough to keep this hidden, to survive in an organization that doesn't tolerate differing ideas while knowing how deep the corruption runs. Both watching the child they raised run recklessly toward destruction, helpless to protect him from himself.
