Relationship Status: Three wonderful partners <3 Sadly we are all long distance. Sucks tbh.
Current Obsessions: FFXIV to the point I fear it is a problem.
Last Thing In My Search History: "Annapurna Interactive" because I was looking up info about the employees all deciding to simply quit. The entire company quit all at once because they're pissed at their parent company. I hope they're able to find new jobs soon!!! That's a brave freaking move and I respect the hell out of it!

Akshaya Tritiya
The Hindu lunar month of Vaisakha has an auspicious celebration known as Akshaya Tritiya that occurs on the third tithi of the brighter half (waxing moon phase). Scriptures indicate that today is a very good day for beginning anything new. In order to bring good luck and chase away the shroud of fear and morbidity from their lives, Hindus enjoy buying gold, silver, and other costly commodities and offering special prayers at home. This day is highly revered by hindu seers and astrologers since it falls under the Rohini Nakshatra, a lucky star.
Akshaya, a Sanskrit term, means "never diminishing" in English. People who worship Laxmi Narayana on this auspicious day by going completely without food benefit from endless sunlight and peace in their lives. This day is regarded as a symbol of achievement and a new beginning in Hinduism. This day, known as Sarva Siddhi Day in Hindu philosophy and culture, is suitable for performing any auspicious ceremony or activity, such as a wedding, housewarming, or buying land, a car, gold, or other precious objects. Due to planetary placement in the horoscope, if a person is unable to locate an auspicious time for their wedding throughout the year, they might fix their wedding date on Akshaya Tritiya without visiting an astrologer.
Numerous marriages are performed on this fortunate day in the Indian states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orrisa, and Bengal on the idea that doing so prolongs married life.
Observing Akshaya Tritiya: India, a diverse nation, observes Akshaya Tritiya under several names. While the celebration is known as Akha Teej in Rajasthan and Gujarat, Akshaya Tritiya is better known in Chhattisgarh as Akti. Because the sacrifices, japas, pilgrimages, and homas carried out on this auspicious day yield greater rewards than those carried out on any other ordinary day, it is known as Akshaya Tritiya.
According to legends from several holy texts, Lord Kubera, the God of Wealth, prayed to Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Akshay Tritiya, which resulted in a favourable downpour of wealth, money, and blessings on Him. The Hindu faith adherents adore Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi on this day for this reason. Hindus worship Laxmi, Vishnu, and Ganesh in the morning after taking a bath. We present the gods with flowers, sweet candies, and basil leaves from the tulsi plant. To finish the puja, we chant mantras, perform Vrata Katha, and light the aarti. Additionally, it will have a positive impact if anyone donates money or provides food and clothing to those in need.
According to Vedic literature, reciting the mantra "Om Hreem Hreem Shreem Shreem Laxminarayanabhayam Namah" 108 times will bring good prosperity.
Legends and Meaning of Akshaya Tritiya: • Three lunar days (tithes) are considered to be the most auspicious period according to Hindu event astrology (Muhurta). One of these occasions, known as Sade-Teen (312) Muhurtas, is Akshay Tritiya. According to astrology, it is thought that the Sun and Moon are in their most exalted positions on this day. • The 'treta yuga' began on Akshaya Tritiya, according to the teachings of the Vedic scriptures, and 'Nara Narayana' also took on human form on this day. This day is customarily celebrated as Lord Parashurama's birthday. 'Parashurama', Lord Vishnu's sixth avatar, is said to have taken on human form on this day according to the Puranas.
• According to another mythology, on this day the Goddess Annapurna (Lakshmi) came from the sea and the Ganga, the world's most revered river, fell upon the planet. • Sage Vyasa began narrating the epic Mahabharata chronicle of the great Bharat war on this day, and Lord Ganesh started writing it down. Sudama, Lord Krishna's closest friend, paid Him a sincere visit on this auspicious day. Without anything to give, Sudama carried Poha (puffed rice) with him and gave it to Krishna, but he never mentioned his lack of resources, despite his intention to do so. Upon his return, Sudama discovers that the benevolent Lord Krishna has transformed his hut into a palace.
According to a story from the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna gave the Pandava queen Draupadi an Akshaya Patra while they were exiled in the wilderness. Later, food was distributed to all the hungry people in that area via Akshaya Patra. • Beginning on this day and every four months thereafter, the temple gates are opened for darshan in accordance with the 2,000-year-old custom of the sacred pilgrimage known as "Badrinath." On this day, the revered "Banke Bihari temple" in Vrindavan also opens its doors for visitors to see "Sri Vighraha," the deity's lotus feet.
• In the Indian state of Odisha, farmers begin tilling their fields, and work on the chariots for the famed Rath Yatra gets underway at the Puri temple. Most people fast on this day and honour Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. • According to the Vedic traditions, Akshay Tritiya is a very profitable day for charitable giving; taking a swim in the Ganges on this day is seen to be very auspicious. Starting a new business, as well as purchasing gold or real estate, on this day is seen to be particularly lucky.
• Hindus also think that doing the Shraadh ritual for the ancestors on this day is very lucky. In the name of the ancestors, one must provide grains such as barley, wheat, grammes, sattu, curd rice, and items made of milk. Then, he must give food and dakshina to a pandit (Hindu priest).
A significant spring event for adherents of Sanatana Dharma is Akshaya Tritiya. Akshaya is Sanskrit for unending. Because of this, the advantages of engaging in any Japa, Yagna, Pitra-Shraddha, or Daan-Punya (gift of money, food, clothing, or other items) on this day never fade and stay with that person for all time. It is believed that purchases of gold, land, and property made on Akshaya Day will never decrease and will instead increase throughout time. Akshaya Tritiya is said to be an auspicious day free from any malefic effects of planets and the ideal day to begin any auspicious ritual or activities, according to ancient literature and Vedic astrologers.

Thess vs Niche Tastes, Maybe
Sometimes I feel a little iffy about some of the video game recommendations I have. But then, a lot of the ones I’ve been playing of late are a little ... niche, I guess? It’s been awhile since I played a new AAA game, mostly because it’s been awhile since I bought one. Mostly I’ve been playing indies. Anxiety talking again, but sometimes I worry that it looks like intellectual snobbery or something, but it’s really not. I’m just looking for a good story, fun mechanics, or both. Usually both. And honestly, ‘both’ is a little hard to find in AAA games at the moment, or at least that’s what I’ve been finding. I have my limitations when it comes to mechanics, which leaves me out of a lot of the love affair the industry’s been having with Soulslikes. I’d love to play a lot of them, but the barrier to entry’s too high for me. Sad, but what’re you gonna do? As for a lot of the rest ... well, some open world games are really fun but it’s hard to get a story with any kind of urgency when you’re encouraged to spend so much time faffing about. And even then I can’t play half of them because they’re first person.
Being disabled sucks ass, seriously.
Anyway, point is that I keep rummaging through the indies, and I keep finding gems. DREDGE is the main one, but I’ve talked about that one enough. Haven’t finished it yet, but haven’t been into going through the tension main quest goals involve, and I’m more likely to try to fish up every type of fish before I go for endgame. The one I did just finish, though, is a really neat little game from Annapurna Interactive called I Am Dead.
It’s ... not as grim as it sounds, honestly.
What it is, rather than being grim and depressing, is a calm and contemplative hidden object game with a twist, focusing on what we leave behind when we’re gone, physically and otherwise. The title’s because the main character is, in point of fact, dead, and is searching the island for memories to summon various ghosts of the island on which they lived. The ‘with a twist’ part of the hidden object is ... well, because the main character’s a ghost, he’s not bound by a lot of physical laws, so you spend the game looking into things, looking at objects in cross-section to find items (and, if you’re a completionist like me, finding patterns in the cut-away cross-section to seek out Gremkins, little luck gnome things). It’s sweet and a little sad and kind of weirdly hopeful and I really did love every minute of it. I kind of stretched it out to make it last, but it’s not a very long game, so ... you know. I’ll move on to other things until I need that precise combination of sweet, sad, and hopeful again, and then it’ll get a replay after I’ve had enough time to let it feel as close to the first time as a replay can ever be.
...Or I’ll replay more or less immediately to get the other half of the achievements I missed. Either way.
Now, I was lucky enough to get it on sale, and I’m not sure I’d have got it at full price ... but honestly that’s just because the budget, y’know. I actually watched the credits, partly because they weren’t very long. Published by Annapurna Interactive, but the developers were basically, like, a half-dozen people with some outside help. It’s amazing what a small team can do, honestly. And I just love how Annapurna Interactive is willing to publish such interesting concepts. It’s a rare thing, or at least it feels that way, when most of the games that get all the press are following more or less the same mould as the last popular thing. The AAA companies are so invested in getting ALL THE MONEY that they can’t take the risk on something new. Indies aren’t bound to that, so while there are obviously going to be clunkers somewhere along the line, it’s nice to see the imagination and inventiveness that come out when your dev team’s just like, “Okay, let’s make a game and hope it makes some money”. I’m glad to have put money towards something like that, even if it was at sale price.
It’s definitely worth having on the wishlist for the next sale, is what I’m saying. It’s cute, it’s sweet, it’s clever, and it’s thoughtful.

Plotted starter for @faerietael’s David Annapurna .
Giving this whole thing the green light had been like pulling fucking teeth, with him, anyways. Sure, there’s a few tree huggers left on the board tickling Murkoff’s balls just enough to whisper sweet nothings about enrichment programs and boosting the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of residents...and that was enough pressure to pull the trigger on the Art Program. It was never a decision he felt comfortable with, watching money dry on canvas. The program’s been up and running for a month or so now so it’s about time he got the invite to see what the damage is. It’s more like a surprise visit, actually.
He invited himself.
Coolly, Trager pushes open the door to the makeshift arts and crafts closet, the fumes of fresh paint hitting him like a ton of bricks. “Wooo! That’ll clear your sinuses.” He announces his presence, sniffing. Bleary eyes turn to gawk in his direction, each of the patients looking either mildly confused or disturbed by his crashing the party. These people are always tough to please. Take take take, you know.
As the executive takes a step inside, shutting the door with his foot, he takes in...the art. These lunatics look like they’re painting themselves more than the paper, truth be told...and those few guys who’ve managed to get a few brush strokes in...-- “Oh!” Richard stops in his tracks, hands in his pockets as he leans over a bald man’s shoulder, taking a look at the only thing in the room that looks like a drawing of some kind. Splattered across the canvas, in shades of purple and stark black, is a ghostly figure. Its missing some distinct features...eyes, a mouth...but it looks like something. It makes the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.
“Nice...work.” He finally says, measuring his words a little more carefully than usual. “Loving the slippers too. Balenciaga?” Richard glances down at the man’s feet before moving on, spotting a guy with brain function.
“Hey, I’m Rick Trager from upstairs. R&D. I think I’ve seen you before...don’t tell me...” The executive reaches out, shaking the orderly's hand, eyes rolling back to try and remember the guy’s name. “Daniel?” That seems close. There’s too many people down here.
“I figured, you know what... the sun is shining, the office is cramped, and the art program is on the checklist so I swung by.” Trager smiles, turning to look at the room at large again. “Quite the Kindergarten class you’ve got here. I’d keep an eye on Picasso, personally. Looks like a serial killer. You know those people draw fucked up shit when they’re young, right? The more ya know...”

Annapurna Ghee | Festive Season | Diwali celebration
It's a special mishti. It is even given to Lord Jagannath at the Puri temple. The consistency varies. Many cook it down further to make small borfis or any or shape out of it. I like it a bit softer and runny. The ghee makes it glorious with the beautiful caramelised nutty flavour that ultimately comes out of cooking the semolina over time. It's been a couple of years that I have been using Annapurna Cow ghee for making sweets at home and the result is always terrific. This Diwali, try out this humble mishti and cook it only with pure cow ghee like Annapurna Cow ghee. And in case you want the detailed recipe, comment 'mohonbhog' in the caption.

However, beyond the temples and rituals, this town also offers a culinary journey packed with flavors that reflect the richness of Andhra cuisine. If you're a foodie visiting Tirupati, you'll be delighted to discover a variety of local delicacies that can make your trip a gastronomic adventure. From savory street food to sacred offerings, here's a guide to the must-try dishes in and around Tirupati.
1. The Famous Tirupati Laddu: A Divine Offering
No trip to Tirupati is complete without tasting the famous Tirupati Laddu, a holy prasadam offered at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. Made with ghee, sugar, cardamom, and dried fruits, this iconic sweet has a unique taste that is cherished by pilgrims. The laddu holds spiritual significance, and its rich, crumbly texture is something you'll savor long after you’ve left Tirupati.
Where to get it: Directly from the Tirumala temple as prasadam.
2. Pulihora: Tangy Tamarind Rice
Pulihora, also known as tamarind rice, is a staple dish served in temples and homes across Andhra Pradesh. This dish has a tangy flavor from the tamarind and is tempered with mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried red chilies, and peanuts. Pulihora is commonly served during temple festivals and is often distributed as prasadam to devotees. Its perfect balance of spice, sourness, and crunch makes it a must-try for every foodie.
Where to get it: Temple canteens or local eateries like Bhimas Residency.
3. Dosas and Idlis: The South Indian Breakfast Staples
Tirupati, like most of South India, is known for its incredible breakfast options, especially dosas and idlis. Whether it’s a crispy ghee dosa, a soft and spongy idli, or the ever-popular masala dosa, these dishes are served with piping hot sambar and a variety of chutneys. Tirupati’s street food stalls and local restaurants serve some of the most delicious versions of these staples.
Where to get it: Popular eateries like Hotel Mayura or Annapurna Vegetarian Restaurant.
4. Andhra-Style Meals: The Ultimate Thali Experience
For those who want to dive into the true essence of Andhra cuisine, an Andhra thali is an unmissable experience. This traditional meal includes a variety of dishes like spicy curries, dal (pappu), pickles, chutneys, and rice, often served with ghee. Tirupati's Andhra meals are known for their bold flavors and use of chili, tamarind, and coconut. The balanced combination of spicy, tangy, and savory dishes will leave you craving for more.
Where to get it: Bhimas Deluxe Hotel and Maurya Restaurant offer excellent Andhra-style thalis.
5. Mirchi Bajji: The Spicy Street Snack
One of Tirupati’s favorite street foods is the Mirchi Bajji, a deep-fried chili fritter stuffed with a tangy tamarind or lemon-flavored filling. These crispy, spicy snacks are perfect for a quick bite while exploring the city. Despite being fiery, the tangy stuffing and crunchy batter create a satisfying flavor profile. You’ll often find stalls selling Mirchi Bajji near the temples and markets.
Where to get it: Street vendors near Govindaraja Swamy Temple and Tirupati Bazaar.
6. Gongura Pachadi: The Iconic Andhra Pickle
If you love pickles, then Gongura Pachadi should be on your list. Made from the sour gongura (sorrel) leaves, this pickle has a distinct, tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with hot rice and ghee. Gongura pachadi is an essential part of Andhra cuisine and is often served in meals at local restaurants. If you're looking to take some flavors of Tirupati home, this is a great choice for a souvenir.
Where to get it: Many Andhra restaurants serve it with meals, and you can also buy packaged versions in local stores.

This simple yet flavorful dish is often served as breakfast or prasadam in temples. It's a wholesome, hearty option, especially when paired with coconut chutney or a dollop of ghee. In Tirupati, you'll find pongal in temple canteens and small eateries.
Where to get it: Sri Lakshmi Narayana Bhavan and temple canteens.
8. Sweet Pongal: A Festive Delight

I just played and thoroughly enjoyed Chicory: A Colorful Adventure and also A Short Hike. Sweet cute games for a rainy day. Chicory is a decent length while A Short Hike is short lol
Couple developers I love are Amanita Design and Annapurna Interactive.
If you like escape games, Nicolet.jp and GBFinger Studio have apps that collect their little games. Often the developers have different names on apple vs android. if you are into them I can recommend quite a few.
can anyone recommend a good game that can be played on Mac? I don't have my gaming laptop with me 😔
I tend toward story-rich games with choice, and not much grinding (like Scarlet Hollow, Slay the Princess, Undertale, Disco Elysium, Doki Doki Literature Club, Inscryption, Oxenfree, Return of the Obra Dinn, etc)

"The Hearty Meal." From the Annapurna Upanishad, the Exploration of the Mysteries of the Queen of Foods.
NOW we come to the most important aspect of Liberation, the liberated part:
V-3. The knower digests (whatever) food he eats – (whether it is) impure, unwholesome, defiled through contact with poison, well-cooked or stale, as though it were ‘sweet’ (i.e. a hearty meal).
V-4. The (wise) know liberation to be the renunciation of (all) attachment: non-birth results from it. Give up attachment to objects; be liberated in life, O sinless one !
V-5. Attachment is held to be the impure impressions causing reactions like joy and indignation when the objects sought after are present or absent.
V-6. Pure is the impression latent in the bodies of the liberated in life which does not lead to rebirth and is untainted by elation or depression.
V-7. O Nidagha (exertion) ! Pains do not depress you; joys do not elate you; abandoning servitude to desires, be unattached.
It is not the thing we want to avoid, but attachment to a thing. So long as one’s experiences in life do not include overattachment, one can eat whatever one wants, have any kind of sex, or think any kind of thought so long as it does not linger and distort one’s view of the Self.
Self, however, must be acquired through practices of complete austerity so one knows and understands Him without obstruction. Once the body, mind, intellect, and spirit acquire a view of the Self who is free of all attachments, one automatically knows how to behold Him and also live in a dynamic world
