Animtober for Animations!

I really missed an Inktober-like challenge from years back focused on weekly prompts for animators to take part in, so I wrote up my own prompt list for this year!

I am sorry if this is late, but better late than never!

The prompts go from that Sunday to the Saturday, and can be any form of animated medium!

Small guidelines that are not mandatory include five-second limit of length of the full animation to play, to challenge yourself to convey within a small timeframe!

Animal of the Day!

White-winged Fairywren (Malurus leucopterus)

Conservation Status- Least Concern

Habitat- Australia

Size (Weight/Length)- 10 g; 13 cm

Diet- Insects

Cool Facts- The itty-bitty white-winged fairywren comes straight out of Cinderella. These little wren species have some of the most complex flock dynamics in the bird kingdom. The white-winged fairywren only lives in groups of 4 but each bird has a job. When one bird is nesting, a second and often non-related wren, will aide in raising the chick. They are highly affectionate and will groom each other for long durations. Male white-winged fairywrens will present their mate with a flower petal and then bow to the female to show off his feathers.

Rating- 11/10 (Blue animals are seriously so cool.)

Animtober- Fairy (Blue, white, and pretty fairy-like.)

Ever felt bad because you start a challenge but never manage to finish it? Fret not and get ready for Animtober+Boardtober 💫 but chill 💫 RULES: Working or studying makes it harder to keep up with monthly challenges, so the main goal for this one is to make something with the 8 prompts (the gold ones) -the rest of the prompts are optional and up to your time and energy. Digital and traditional media are both fine! The challenge is for the month of October but you can use the prompts whenever you want. Here is the little animation i’ve been working on for Inktober! It’s animated on TVpaint then inked traditionally. ;) I tried to step away from illustrations a bit. I have other ink-related projects but I doubt I will be able to finish them soon!

Animal of the Day!

Highland Cattle (Bos taurus taurus)

Conservation Status- Unlisted

Habitat- Domesticated

Size (Weight/Length)- 650 kg; 105 cm in height

Diet- Grasses

Cool Facts- Originating in Scotland, the highland cattle is now a popular breed of cow found all over the world. Their thick coat and stocky size allows them to harsh out extreme weather conditions with ease. Highland cattle live in closely connected herds where members groom and play with each other. The mothers are extremely protective of their calves and will chase away any predators or humans that try to approach. Highland cattle are generally more ‘wild’ than other species of cattle, making gaining their trust extremely hard. Not often used in large scale industries, highland cattle are mostly bred for their meat and for show competitions. They also make decent milk cows, although they produce less than other dairy cows.

Rating- 13/10 (The temptation to pet the calves it eliminated by the charging mother.)
