List of shows! (ANIMATED)
Might try to watch maybe because I need to watch something new at least.
Author (one of my childhood shows I want to see some interesting episodes)
Ninjago (I have seen it but I’m still thinking about it since they kept on adding a lot to it in newer seasons, the og stuff is good)
Franklin (iconic to me since it was chill)
Slugterra (YO anyone else remember this show, only unsure if the rest of the seasons come in English)
The owl house (yeah I missed out lol)
Anphibia (also missed out but I now feel like I need to see it)
Unicorn academy (just to finish up season one and then season two, it’s actually really good)
Gravity Falls (yes, I’m gunna finally see it)
Murder Drones (yeah I didn’t get to it yet but I guess I should now before everyone dies down)
Unicorn: warriors eternal (just need to finish it)
Chhota bheem (some show from India I found online but it’s hard to understand them in the English dub since they have kind of heavy accents) (EDIT: informed it’s more for younger audiences, I mean I am fine with it but I’ll keep it on hold since maybe I can find something better)
Elena of avador (even though it was a small joke because I have an oc with a similar name but I heard it’s actually good) also Central American culture I’m into but most things center around Mexico (hope one day something will go to the other countries like Guatemala)
Avatar the last airbender (need to see more!!)
There are probably a lot I’m missing here, also if anyone else has a good series, you can recommend one to me (also I’m 18, so you can recommend some adult animated series, only I know it’s a bit rare to come across a good series but hopefully there’s hidden gems out there)

Throwback Thursday: Elmer Riggs
Imagine being a fossil mammal guy. I know, it's hard when there are dinosaurs out there but just give it a try. You've been in South Dakota and Nebraska working on Oligocene deposits pulling out some gnarly mammals. Then you go to Utah and start working on some Eocene mammals and the trail leads you to Grand Junction, Colorado. While there, you are approached by someone who says they are an amateur fossil collector and the president of the Western Colorado Academy of Science and they have some dinosaur bones they want you to see.
That is what happened to Elmer Riggs. He was born in India and moved to Kansas when he was just a small boy. He got both his bachelor's and master's degree at the University of Kansas and then was hired by the Field Columbian Museum (now know as the Field Museum of Chicago) as the museum's first paleontologist.
Now, back to Grand Junction. Okay, so, it was actually the smaller suburb of Fruita that he was sent to go look for dinosaurs. Him and a small team were out prospecting when they stumbled upon a very large humerus (upper arm bone).
Riggs initially though it belonged to a Brontosaurus and that it was a crumbly piece of junk so he actually gave priority to a much nicer looking Camarasaurus (Morosaurus) in a nearby quarry. However, once this humerus was completely uncovered, he knew it wasn't Brontosaurus but something bigger.
He further misidentified the element as a femur rather than a humerus due to it's immense length. It's wasn't until the lab preparation was complete that they recognized it as a humerus. All the white bones in the diagram below belong to the holotype (the first described specimen) found at Riggs' Hill.
As you can see, the holotype is the most complete Brachiosaurus material and it's really not that much. Fingers crossed we have a little more at Evil Tree Bonebed. How cool would that be!?
Riggs named the "largest dinosaur ever!" Brachiosaurus altithorax meaning "high chested arm lizard" and at the same time, noted that Apatosaurus and Brontosaurus were probably the same animal.
You can still visit the quarry where Brachiosaurus was found today. I have been there myself. It's a short trail about five minutes from the Dinosaur Journey Museum. If you ever head out that way, check them both out!

WINXSONA FOR THE NEUTRAL CLASS MAGIC USER WOOHOOO
Name: Anesis (Greek name meaning “Comfort” or “Consolation”, kinda tying into her power in an abstract way).
Magic Title: Yogini of the Kapila’s Love (yes she has a powerful energy creature like Bloom, haven’t decided if she knows it yet but probably not).
Planet-Kingdom of Origin: Kriti (A planet with a love for anything tangible, felt, immanent and sensory - songs, flavors, paintings, pictures, plays, clothes and perfumes and anything of the sort!
It spills over into their faith, about a Goddess’ living presence in all aspects of the world, with many forms and faces. Evidence of her existence is shaky according to magical research, so it remains an odd quirk to many others. There's a reason, however, why they believe, which will be shown.
Kriti is matriarchal, but things have been getting slightly more balanced with modernization. It attracts plenty of tourists because of the various pleasures to experience, and even animal sacrifices if they’re not squeamish. It takes inspiration from South India, the more matriarchal societies of indigenous america such as Hopi and Tewa cultures, a bit from SEA metropolises like Manila and Bangkok, busy and lifesome and making you want to run around to do and buy everything.
Personality and Overall Being: Anesis comes across as ladylike, yet also warm and maternal for most people. Wanting to help others in her own seemly and measured way, in a friend group, she’s the emotionally strong and poised one, whose responsibility is second nature.
Despite this, she has a mischievous part of her prone to good-natured devilment. This is only shown amongst good friends and family, so she can blindside them with a highly uncharacteristic remark just to see their reactions.
The motherly and responsible parts of her personality cause her to take responsibility for things that aren’t her problem, leaving her open to be burdened with everyone else’s issues without consideration for herself. She has a deep need to feel useful and wanted, she was raised by loving caregivers (her mother, her aunts and uncles and occasionally the father, as per Kriti tradition) but they could pile big expectations on her as a girl from such a respected family.
Her two older sisters and older brother were often horrifically cruel to her and her younger and final sibling, Glyca. Having none of Anesis’ good nature, they were spoiled, entitled, bullying monsters. From protecting the very young Glyca she awakened her strong-but-nurturing streak, and from the damage it gave herself she got the need to feel needed.
Adding to the bullying, she often saw a being no one else could see - a cow spirit she called Kapila. Her older siblings detail how some food industries imprisoned and tortured cows for milk and tore their babies away from them for veal. Her mother scolded them when they were caught, but Kapila was the true comforter, dabbing her tears away with a nuzzle.
Being on the wealthier side, it wasn't unusual for Anesis’ family to have a toe dipped in magical society. When one friend of the family heard of these persistent visitations she insisted it was a sign of wondrous magical potential, and to consider introducing her to magic education. Anesis loved it, thinking it brought her closer to the phantom bovine, culminating in her enrollment in Vishuva Yogini Institute (despite the impersonal frost that last word gives off, it's a lovely place to be when you sense the atmosphere).
For once, she felt she was truly doing Mother proud! Euclea, the eldest and most foul in her torments, tried to copy her magical success. Her Yogini skills were lacking, but at a fairy academy called Alfea, she was doing good enough, and hadn't skinned any kittens to drown in vinegar quite yet.
But Kapila never left her side, she could appear as a divine woman in a flowered aureole, a pillar of shining cloud, and a cow. The cow was much larger and discernable powerful, like a queen of all beasts.
She said she was once a more godlike entity, like the great dragon. Kapila had sacrificed her own being, powdered into uncountable specks for the gift of ‘love’ for sentients, people! But it is the time of her return, the people have lost their way in greed, scorn of wisdom, and ghoulish violence and destruction of one another, all for what?
By gathering the produce of her lost pieces, the love in the soul of those that still have it, she’ll be crowned queen, no one will not hear her when she tells to remember their innate goodness, the flesh of their heart, which alone was irreplaceable.
Alesis’ mission was of She, the all present mother in the loving soul, the most important gift in totality of sentient beings. Unifying the world enough to set Her free, back here, it’s her strived-for masterpiece, a miraculous magnum opus that will set so many more free from what they've trapped themselves in, never alone whilst She’s by their side.
---
Wooh! That was a lot, I apologize for the shit shitty oh so fucking shitalicious image quality it's the best I can do.
Her civilian fashion is like, wholesome 60s girl with that shot of Y2K yass-slay-bih cuntissima. She wears heavier makeup to look older. Although I suppose there's a bit of less mature feminity in the hair now and short lace skirt etc etc but still 69s inspired
Magic Winx definitely plays up the less mature side, with the large puritan collar thingy, cute cow head motifs across the hem and babydoll dress evoking a 60s "Dolly" (a fashion trend back then where they war more childish looking things, like Melanie Martinez but more DMT)
(Realised it looks like a nightgown, I'm gonna head cannon Kapila visited her mainly at night or even in her dreams)
need to flesh out her powers but for now thing of blooms divine do-much-more-that-normal-fire-fairy stuff, but swap out fire for , healing, emotions, souls and whatever princess peach has

Rukmini Devi Arundale
Rukmini Devi Arundale, born on February 29, 1904, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, served as a catalyst in revitalising the traditional Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam and establishing its prominence. Born into a Brahmin family with deep connections to the Theosophical Society, Rukmini was exposed to humanist ideals from an early age. Her marriage to George Arundale, a theosophist and educator, further fuelled her interest in theosophy and dance. While travelling with her husband and Annie Besant, Rukmini learned of Western ballet and began studying ballet at the suggestion of the famous ballerina Anna Pavlova. Pavlova also encouraged her to explore classical Indian dance forms, which allowed Rukmini to pursue Bharatanatyam To challenge the norms and re-establish the artistic integrity of the dance, Rukmini undertook formal education at the Bharatnatyam master Pandanalur Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai. In 1935, at the age of 31, Rukmini made her debut in Bharatanatyam, defying societal expectations and setting a precedent for upper-class women to participate in the dance form. Witnessing the transformative power of Bharatanatyam, she established the International Academy of the Arts in Adyar in 1936, later renamed Kalakshetra. Through Kalakshetra, Rukmini aimed to teach and popularise Bharatanatyam through this institution, saying that she felt she had been "ushered into a new world of rhythmic beauty and meaning." Rukmini Devi Arundale's contributions extended beyond dance. In 1934, she founded educational institutions that blended theosophy and traditional Hindu values. Her vision for Kalakshetra went beyond preserving Bharatanatyam; it became a hub for various Indian traditions and the propagation of theosophical ideals. Her efforts earned her accolades, including the Padma Bhushan in 1956 and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1967. As an animal lover, she chaired the Animal Welfare Board and played a key role in passing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in 1952. In the same year, she made history as the first ever woman in Indian history to be nominated as the Rajya Sabha member In 1977, she declined the offer to become the President of India from Prime Minister Morarji Desai post the death of President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. In a 2013 speech at Kalakshetra, President Pranab Mukherjee delivered the first Rukmini Devi Memorial Lecture, emphasising on the significance she has had on the revival of classical dance and her commitment to the cultural renaissance of India.

Code Geass Lost Stories Main Story Summary (contain spoiler if anyone play this game)
I wrote this within mind everyone known Code Geass Lelouch of Rebellion stories
So far, main story split into three part, 13 chapter for R1, 4 chapter for chapter 1.5 and still unknown for R2. For R1 and most likely R2 too, it's basically same like anime with additional our MC PoV + their own problem so here I only talk about the difference happens in R1 :
Disel (MC family name) family are Japanese-Britanian worked for knightmare's energy filler division. As MC parents got killed, they adopted by Claris Garfield, Disel's assistant. In short, they want to revenge on Britania as they killed their parents. This one still speculations but there's indication that MC using a geass on themself to forget the past.
As MC studies at Ashford academy, she coindentally heard conversation Lelouch CC saying that he want to crush Britania then asked for join forces as they have same purpose. So she become Lelouch's backstage supporter but different than CC, they actively support Black Knight as their second ace and even become a Britania spy for providing information.
Funny enough, MC joining Britania at special division as Suzaku's coworker
Mao didn't get introduce since MC busy with their spy mission (lol)
Later story, it reveal that MC parents killed by their aunt named Kali, the reasons why Kali killed MC parents so far I know it's just yandere sisterly things (lol) and now she want to kill MC too. R1 ended with with MC vs Kali while Kali injuried badly. Of course they don't know the reasons her injuries since it's knightmare fight (at R2 Lelouch telling them) and they still not know that Kali killed their parents too.
After Black Rebellion, MC become a main devicer for special division since Suzaku appointed as Knight of Seven. After MC learn about Lelouch disapperance, they still doing their spy mission while wait for him to comeback.
Main story 1.5 started around one year blank R1 and R2 from different person PoV (sometimes MC sometimes not). It's basically just side story since every chapter just contains 10 chapter while R1 contains around 14-20 chapter. These sidestory explained many things missed at R2 like the reasons custom knightmare become so many at that time and many area under Britania rebelling after Black Rebellion.
Chapter 1 (MC PoV) : Story started from Suzaku mock battle to become Knight of Seven, introducing additional two new character for support devicer Schnee and Red, and some side battle at area 2 along with MC. That time MC got a new meele knightmare
This chapter explain some info like Schnizel fully support special division since he thought knightmare battle could change the course of war and that's the reason he send two new devicer to Lyord. In this side story there's indication Red send there to giving information to Kanon
Chapter 2 (Britanian and Black Knight PoV) : For black knight PoV story started from Urabe and Kallen go to India for searching Lakshata to repair Guren's right hand which is broken after Black Rebellion time. While Britania learn that information, they send a Glinda knights for clean up. Additionally from Britanian PoV story started from Schneizel start mass produce Lancelot test drive. It introduce a new Britannian family member Marybell along with her knight Oldrin plus Kimmel. If anyone remember, Kimmel is a should be Vincent user as he killed by Rolo at R2. As test drive success, some rebel group attacked that place then Suzaku save the day. Tbh I never read Oz the reflection so I don't know details around Oz and Glinda knights (lol)
This chapter came with small details like Schneizel came up with mass produce Lancelot for everyone no matter how good the devicer to use, that's the reason Kimmel came and become Vincent user at R2 since he's just an ordinary user (lol). There's Cornelia meets Oz for searching more geass information
Chapter 3 (Britanian and Black Knight PoV) : For britanian PoV story started from Suzaku along with Schnee Red MC gone to other country to repel the rebellion. This chapter explain Suzaku title as "white devil" since he basically swop the rebel alone (with geass live too of course lol). From black knight PoV, Kaguya Diethard Lakshata came to China for protection and prepare things if Zero cameback while Kallen Urabe gone to Yokohama as their team still on chase with Britania army and meets CC there. CC too still on run after geass special corps keep chasing her
This chapter introduce two original characters, Benio (Kallen's fangirl which she rescued at special administrative zone of Japan which later became Kallen underling) and Savitri (if I remember right, she's appear at Code Geass movie as Lakshata underling)
Some small info like Uni Europe rebel (Boukoku no Akito story) already done after general Smiley get killed so yeah it's just an afterstory, Anya Gino Bradley show their face to Suzaku for first time and Gino explain that even Rounds too still using a Glasgow custom at that time.
Chapter 4 (Black Knight & MC PoV) : This chapter started from Kallen Urabe CC invade Yokohama port to taking Black Knight knightmare which got themself into battle with Glinda knight. On MC PoV, they comeback to Ashford academy without knowing everyone changes after Charles put a geass on them and shocked especially after knowing Lelouch live normally alongside with his fake brother Rolo
So far R2 release around chapter 3 but I really like it's direction, some Oz the reflection and new characters element here makes additional info become entertaining to read
I gonna make R2 summary soon~
#code geass#code geass lost stories#btw this game eng version just came out#and wow they basically skip the wait time (lol)#i still remember in jpn version you got a whole month for their next event#and it's only weeks in eng version (lol)#not only wait time they throw us two event together (lol)

Oldest recorded creation myths in the world: 1500 BCE - Hindu creation myth India Created by Brahma, who emerged from the formless chaos and darkness that existed before the beginning. Brahma separated the five elements (earth, water, fire, are, ether) then created living beings, gods, and demons. There was a battle between the gods and demons, which the gods won. The gods then asked Brahma to create humans to worship them as their boon. Humans lacked knowledge when they were created, so Brahma gave them the Vedas so they'd know what rituals to perform. Called the Purusha Sukta Found in the Rigveda
1600 BCE - Eridu Genesis Mesopotamia (incomplete) Created by An, Enlil, Enki, Ninhursag. Enki, the god of wisdom, water, knowledge, crafts, and creation, creates a home for the gods on Earth. Enki sculpts humans from clay and tasks them with serving the gods. Humans multiply and get noisy, annoying the gods. Enki warns Ziusurda to build a boat to save his family, after which, he was gifted eternal life. https://study.com/academy/lesson/eridu-genesis-overview-summary-sumerian-flood-story.html
1300 BCE - Enūma Eliš Mesopotamia Created by Marduk. Tiamat, who embodies chaos and the primordial sea, gives rise to Apsu, the god of groundwater, and Tiamat's consort. They create Lahmu and Lahamu, then they give rise to Anshar and Kishar. Anshar gave rise to Anu (the sky), then Nudimmud (also known as Enki [same as Eridu Genisis] and Ea). They're loud, so Apsu complained to Tiamat and Mummu. Mummu proposed destroying the gods, Tiamat was reluctant. Apsu embraced Mummu. Upon learning about this, Ea created a sleeping spell for Apsu, taking his divinity, then killed him. Apsu's body became the home of the gods. Then Ea and his consort Damkina used Apsu's heart to create Marduk. The other gods complained to Tiamat, and she gathered her forces to attack Ea. Ea heard of Tiamat's plan, though, and sought counsel from Anshar, who advised him to allow Marduk to fight. Marduk defeats Tiamat with a net he was given by Anu, as well as using the seven winds (north, south, east, west, a whirlwind, a cyclone, and Imhullu [the evil wind]), and an arrow. Marduk split Tiamat in two, creating the earth and the sky. Marduk placed the likeness of the gods in the constellations and created a home for Anu, Enlil (the god of wind, air, earth, and storms), and Ea.
3000-1100 BCE - Greek creation myth (from Minoan, Mycenean, and Greek sources) Created by Gaia and Uranus. In the beginning, there was only Nyx, a black-winged bird. She laid an egg that hatched into Eros. Half the shell rose to become the sky and Eros named it Uranus. The other half became the earth, which Eros named Gaia. Eros caused them to fall in love and they had many children, who gave them grandchildren. One child, Kronus, became fearful of the power of the grandchildren, so he swallowed his children, until his wife, Rhea, gave him a rock instead of their last born, Zeus. Zeus killed his father, releasing his siblings, and starting a great war in heaven. The younger generation won, sealing up the older. Zeus's generation set the constellations in Uranus and life on Gaia. Zeus saw that animals and men were missing and told Prometheus and Epimetheus, his sons, to create these creatures, giving each a gift. Prometheus made men and Epimetheus made animals. Epimetheus used all the gifts, so Prometheus gave men fire, angering Zeus. Zeus had Hephaestus create Pandora, who was given a gift from each god, including a jar containing all evils. She is given to Epimetheus, who ignores Prometheus' warnings. Pandora then scatters the evils in her jar, except hope, which is held in by the will of Zeus. https://www.cs.williams.edu/~lindsey/myths/myths_16.html
3100-2686 BCE - Egyptian Creation Myth (Early Dynastic Period) Nu, an infinite, lifeless expanse of water, was all that existed in the beginning. Gradually, a mound of earth called benben emerged and the god Atum appeared on the mound, creating himself by speaking his name. Atum created Shu (air) and Tefnut (moisture). They gave birth to Geb (earth) and Nut (sky). Geb and Nut were lovers, but were separated by Shu, creating space between earth and sky after they gave birth to Osiris (fertility), Isis (motherhood), Set (chaos), and Nephthys (protection). Isis and Osiris gave birth to Horus (the sun). (Exact details vary by location.)
65,000 years ago - Dreamtime Australia The world was created by powerful spiritual beings created the land, sea, and sky. They made mountains, rivers, water holes, rocks, plants, and animals. People were created, given huting tools, land, and totems in their Dreaming, thus the Spirits are the Ancestors from the beginning of time. The Ancestors showed people which places were to be sacred and what rituals to perform and what songs to sing to please the Ancestors. The exact nature of the Ancestors varies from huge snakes to the Wanadjina (cloud and rain spirits).

By the way they wear a lot of wool in the Kostas world.
post recently reblogged re: forgetting about the Textiles in worldbuilding
I haven't made decisions about silk. Silk is so very particular. Silk as a trade good has a very particular history. True, the environment of Kostas is based on China/Southeast Asia, so there could reasonably be silk moths domesticated to feed a silk manufacturing trade, but I haven't decided whether that's more or less interesting to include. Ainjir doesn't produce silks in a major way - they have fields, so they have sheep, so they make a shitload of wool. It's also reasonably cool enough that wearing a lot of wool isn't hugely inconvenient.
Adineh could easily be the place silks come from, but I like the idea better that they work in fine cotton. Cotton is a behemoth of history, but what I'm thinking of specifically is cotton as it developed in India (and maybe in Meso- and South America, but I know less about how that went). Adineh's problem is being short on land, but it's easy to see its turn to peace as having been partly inspired by using what land they already had for cash crops and importing food crops - becoming a trading nation rather than a conquering nation).
Geron is so cold and mountainous I suspect they stick to wool, skins, and furs, though some nice linen undies are probably on order for the richer folk. There's probably a good flax growing and processing industry in Ainjir, though I'll bet it's all in the South (the place that got violently conquered least) meaning it's always fighting mining. I'll bet that little cluster of republics I never mention or name (sixth of the six nations, split off from Ainjir) grows the hell out of flax. It's all swamps though, so I would have to be particular about where it could grow (after a brief look, it seems like swamps will do after all).
Ainjir's major industry is not textiles, though maybe it should be (Watsonian assertion). It's a ramshackle country, really. Especially compared to Adineh (who may, after all, have silks)
But textiles might come up more in the Academy stories - or, at least, they should come up more - after all, little Cole is the son of a tailor, was being raised and trained as a tailor before he diverted to the Military. He notices and knows and doesn't talk about it, but it should show up more in his perspective.
That doesn't mean he understands the textile industry or anything - but that has probably as much to do with the Capitol being a weird city as his not sticking with tailoring. A lot of things that WOULD happen in a normal city (tanning and wide-scale animal slaughtering being the first thing to come to mind) DON'T happen in the Capitol specifically because it wasn't a proper, real city before it became the Capitol. Which is why the Relay (roads and horses and wagons) became such a thing (transportation is really important when basic stuff isn't being done in the major population center).
Did you know that the Capitol is not the most populous city in Ainjir? It's the only 'city' for their fucked-up conception of 'city' (i.e. the Capitol is The City, therefore if it's not like The Capitol it's not a City), but there's the old capitol in the north (where the current King, that dickhead, likes to live), and then a bunch of cities way down south (again, because not being burned down repeatedly makes for more stable growth). The Capitol gets all the cache, but there's bigger places abroad the country.
Of course, they don't compare to the cities in Adineh or even kind of the ones in Wulsh (at least, if you asked the Wulsh, which nobody does).
We got on a bit of a ramble there. Anyway, consider the textiles.
