Angela Daskalakis was headmistress of the Alchemax School for Gifted Youngsters in Westchester County, New York. She oversaw Miguel's education, and he came to think very highly of her throughout his academic career. She really understood him in a way his parents never seemed to, who could see past all his bullshit. The lies he put up to protect himself. She was a teacher who wanted to teach outside of Alchemax, and she felt just as stuck as the kid whose dad brought him to her school to get company benefits.

She wouldn't be the first innocent to die. That honor would really go to Sims, but she was among the most devastating to lose. Killed in an explosion while he and Xina were visiting her. She'd always been against Alchemax, having wasted her finest years teaching for them. It was only fitting she'd die to them, now able to pay off her grave after leasing enough cradles.

The school fell into disrepair soon after. Tyler, not wanting to dedicate any more time on the school that expelled Kron, stopped putting credits toward it. With no new headmistress to run it, no credits to maintain it, and with no X-Men (yet) to reclaim it, the former school fell into disrepair.

It would be a few years before spiders would take back to the rafters. Gray in his hair, scruff on his face, dark circles under his eyes. Devastated by the loss of his daughter, desperate in his search for answers as to where to look to right his wrongs. The idea of a team has come to mind. The memories of the designated Safe Spaces even the Inheritors couldn't find flooded his mind. A place more secure, outside of the city limits. Corridors that travel up and down instead of left and right. Sleeping quarters, training grounds, designated areas for science and weaponry, tools, and costumes. Everything a mourning spider could need to pull together a familiar web. Later there would even be a place to honor the fallen.

It's been three years since HQ was built on top of the remains of the old Xavier school. Much of the bones still remain. The original danger room remains intact, there are grounds within the lower levels that still bear the iconic "X" doors, left untouched in remembrance of the building's original owners.
