MR. ROBOT REWATCH, 2x12:Ā ā€œeps2.9_pyth0n-pt2.p7zā€
-Oh, weā€™re going back to what happened at the end of season one?
-Itā€™s so weird to see Rami in place of Christian during this scene because you can tell this was a scene where Mr. Robot took over. Although, I do love seeing how Ramiā€™s acting changes to match Christianā€™s acting choices when he plays Mr. Robot.
-Tyrell, calm down, donā€™t cry.
-Iā€™m sorry, but if I was Tyrell and Elliot was this clueless to what was going on, I wouldnā€™t show him anything.
-Thank God, Darleneā€™s okay, but Iā€™m quite sad that Cisco died.
-It was Scott pretending to be Tyrell. I was right!!
-Joanna, what are you about to do to this broken man?
-JOANNA, WHAT THE FUCK?!
Tumblr media
-Was Scott beating her and choking her a part of the plan?
-This scene between Darlene and Dom is so good.
-Jesus, what is this plan that even Elliot can't decipher what phase 2 is?
-Oh shit, so did Joanna provoke Scott so that itā€™d piss of her boyfriend enough to convince him to frame Scott for his wifeā€™s murder?
-Wait, was Romeroā€™s death really just a freak accident or are you lying to her Dom?
-Shit, they have Elliot on the board.
-Oh wow, they think Tyrell is the mastermind behind all of this.
-Tyrell, youā€™re the dumbass who started to work with someone who isnā€™t all there. You shouldā€™ve dug into Elliot before you started working with him.
-Oh my god, Elliot this is so fucking risky.
-Elliot! Mr. Robot tried to warn you!!
-What the fuck? Tyrell is calling Angela?
-Angela: ā€œItā€™s okay, you did what needed to be done.ā€ Angela, what the fuck?
Tumblr media
-Tyrell: ā€œBut I love him.ā€ I know you do Tyrell, but your love is making you a little crazy.
-Wait, thatā€™s the end?
-Oh shit, I forgot about the mid creditā€™s scene.
-Mobley and Trenton! My babies!!
-Where are they living now?
-I wonder if it feels weird for Trenton to not to be wearing her hijab.
-Fuck, I forgot about Leon finding them.

Dude i cant stop thinking about that dream sequence ever since you mentioned elliot shaking hands with Tyrell and his son but not Joanne so if you've got more from that scene pls share
yeah thereā€™s quite a few things i canā€™t stop thinking about either?? iā€™m gonna try to sum it up tho so give it a read and tell me what you think;
i canā€™t say this dream sequence is as full of foreshadowing as the withdrawal one, so iā€™m not going to divide it the way iā€™ve done previously. instead, iā€™ll just focus on quick summary and what i make of it, yeah? letā€™s go.
the very first scene of the dream is him walking down the street alone, taking his hood off and running his hand through it once. itā€™s funny cause itā€™s exactly what he does when he leaves the building upon ā€˜savingā€™ it in s3- but it could also just symbolize a 'stop hiding, open upā€™ optimism this sequence is going for.
anyway, the most frequent and the most important subject of this dream are hands. or rather, handshakes- or lack thereof. so iā€™m gonna use some body language and try to connect things with what we already know without making a mess so; here we go?
before we begin i have to say that the meaning/symbolism of handshakes can mean a shitton of things but the main are: connection, deal, congratulations, greeting, etcā€¦
the first scene when heā€™s sitting with angela- she holds both her hands together. her fingers are intertwined and that gesture usually means one is closed off. elliotā€™s right hand reaches for her, and their fingers slowly try to hold each other but she never moves her other hand away. we know at this point what this means, but this could be foreshadowing to that!! a really neat one, if you ask me.
he greets both his coworkers in the next scene with his right hand, the allsafe guy is using his left which is interesting cause the left hand is commonly associated with death or decay- and iā€™m not sure what to make of it. i donā€™t remember these characters very well but what gets me about this scene is the ā€œplease speak quietlyā€ sign. why do that at a seemingly open party? so my guess is, since these are his allsafe co-workers, itā€™s fair to assume this might be symbolic to gideonā€™s funreal?
the part with cisco and darlene has nothing to do with hands, elliot doesnā€™t have anything to do with this. and yet again, he doesnā€™t shake ciscoā€™s hand- just like he didnā€™t joanneā€™s in the following scene.Ā
the handshake he shares with tyrell could symbolize the ā€œdealā€ he and mr robot had formed. but whatā€™s even better is the fact that his son is waving. considering waving is used upon greeting or parting with someone, itā€™s very interesting to see elliot high five his hand before grasping it and holding it til the end of the shot. reminds me of that one anon who talked about elliot being able to locate tyrellā€™s son.
he hugs bill. i donā€™t want to analyze this i just want to comfort bill letā€™s not ruin it so instead letā€™s move to the most interesting part. this one has everything to do with connections.
ray shakes hands with tyrell, the thing they have in common is that theyā€™re criminals- or see elliot as their 'godā€™ and salvation. joanna waves, doesnā€™t do anything else. and ray makes little 'punchingā€™ motions to either foreshadow the horrible things heā€™s capable of doing- or just say the kid is a fighter. see it however you will.
leon is the one who shakes hands with trenton and mobley. i donā€™t think i have to explain the unfortunate connection here. mobley points his finger at leon, which is a pretty rude gesture in body language; and if you want to- you can see it as an accusatory ā€œi told you soā€ since mobleyā€™s been the most paranoid one of them all.
howevEr, another fun detail: as bill and the co-workers shake hands, tyrell walks away from his family and greets leon as well; who clasps him on the shoulder. maybe a dark army here connection here? leon is to elliot what irving had been to tyrell. or maybe itā€™s something else, since they havenā€™t even met yet.
angela and darlene sit across from each other, and donā€™t interact much. theyā€™re on opposite sides. next to darlene thereā€™s raspberry pie. and next to angela thereā€™s qwerty. in front of all of them there is a giant ecorp building and a clearly divided table. so when elliot sits down, he looks both ways and now we can focus on his monologue:Ā
ā€œyouā€™d even be thereā€ and why is this important? because soon after, thereā€™s an episode called ā€œhandshakeā€ in which elliot makes a deal with us.
next, the building is collapsing- stage 2 took place- everyone is cheering and clapping and thereā€™s an intriguing detail going on and i donā€™t know what to make of it: darlene, bill, leon and tyrell all have a piece of bread on their plate. leon and darlene have the same one, could be because they actually meet in the barn. but weā€™ll see what else there is to unfold as s4 comes out!!
finally, elliot looks to his right and the dream ends. thatā€™s all iā€™ve got tho, thanks for reading!!

Now I want a rewind too
Whiterose set up Price to fall because he made her ask twice. I was OK with that.
Whiterose orchestrated Tyrell Wellick's acquittal to kill and scapegoat Trenton and Mobley. I'M NOT OK with that.
And it started so well. Trenton and Mobley were alive. Leon didnā€™t kill them. He was just send to babysit them like he did with Elliot. They ended up as his captive audience and since he finished Seinfeld and didnā€™t like Frasier itā€™s time for his current obsession - Knight Rider (Leon loves Knight Rider). And even though Leon killed Mobleyā€™s friend and took them to dessert to bury him it was kind of cute. From their escape attempt thwarted by Trentonā€™s inability to drive (she could you a self driving car like Kitt right then) to Leonā€™s complete lack of concern about any of their escape plans.
But then he delivered them to Whiteroseā€™s right hand man and it got dark quick. Dark Army made Trenton and Mobley scapegoats for all the attacks attributed to fsociety. And framed them for planning more. The perfect scapegoats who fit the narrative they set up with Wellick and that other guy FBI captured. The perfect scapegoats the public is going to buy because Muslim, brown are easy to fit in the terrorist stereotype. And Dom is the only one who knows this all stinks but even she feels Whiterose is just going to get away with this.
I know fandom is obsessed with Wellick but Iā€™d rather have him dead thanĀ  squirming his way out of the crimes he did commit and those he only knew of at the cos of so manyĀ  other lives. I suppose he is a perfect embodiment of those partying people Irving has shown to Mr Robot. No matter what happens, not matter the dead toll he gets away with what he has done.
Not that he didnā€™t get screwed in his deal with Dark Army but compared to what he actually did and to other people he got off easy. Irving didnā€™t tell him so he would go with the plan and point finger at Sunil Markesh and Shama Biswas but Joannaā€™s death wasnā€™t part of any plan. Tyrell doesnā€™t get a perfect life back because of Joanna overestimating her control of the situation she created. And their son is a bargaining chip for the same reason. But no matter how sad that makes Tyrell itā€™s nothing compared to the lives his freedom cost. So Iā€™d rather have him lying in the puddle of blood.
I understood when Whiterose punished Philip Price with orchestrating those attacks on physical files and killing all those people to take him out at E Corp CEO. He wasted her time and stopped following orders and that meant she needed a new puppet. E Corp is set to recover with E Coin but Price has to fall. Whiterose said plan is everything and timing is sacred. He failed and for his hubris thousands paid with their lives. All this because of Angela (maybe theories are right and she is his daughter). Even though cruel and awful this made sense. Whiterose kind of destroying thousand of lives to get a point through, messed up sense but still. However, why does it matter if Wellick is or isnā€™t blamed for 5/9 (and rest)? Even if she plans to install him as CEO of E Corp Iā€™m sure there are others she could pick instead (and how useful heā€™d be now when Joanna is gone and his family is mess). Why was she so bent on this whole Iran connection to fsociety?
And the woman in the centre of that Price Whiterose tug of war? Angela knows she was lied to, placated with promises of everyone being safe so she would follow the plan. And now the death toll is too much to bear. The only way out of guilt is deeper into the faith Whiterose sold her. It can all be rewind. Everyone can be OK again. Just follow the plan because thatā€™s the only way to fix this. Otherwise sheā€™d have to except responsibility for what has just happened. And Darlene can only watch her friend fall apart.
The funny thing is that all Whiterose promised might be a lie. Whiterose implied it with the way she said she took care of Angela. She told Angela what she needed to hear to stop her from interfering with Whiteroseā€™s plant. Plant Whiterose is now moving to Congo so soon she wonā€™t need any of these people.
Mr Robot finally realised that. He thought he was running the show but now he has learnt he was just a pawn like all those other people.
Everyone is fucked and the rich are partying anyway.
Everybody knows the fight is fixed The poor stay poor, the rich get rich Thatā€™s how it goes...

*internally screaming a week in advance* because the description for Mr. Robot 3x03 is "Former E Corp interim CTO Tyrell Wellick resurfaces" but honestly also happy because I can back burner all of my wtf is happening with Tyrell questions and start thinking about...
Are Joanna Wellick and Elliot going to meet again?
Did she successfully frame that dude for murder?
Speaking of murder, how long can I stay in denial about what happened after we last saw Leon, Trenton, and Mobley?
Darlene and Dom, I NEED to see more
Darlene and Elliot most definitely not able to trust each other, these two
Does she even know he was shot? Oohhhmg when she finds out who shot...no, this post isn't about him, nevermind
Okay now Darlene and Angela have very different interests, and only Angela knows this, but for how long?
Bobby Cannavale being around if Elliott returns at the wrong time
I'm not even going to try to figure out what WhiteRose is planning, just let that wash over me
ETA: Krista meet Robot, Robot meet Krista
No but seriously, I want to see another meeting between Elliott and Joanna Wellick

'Mr. Robot' Season 3: Everything to Know Before the Premiere
http://styleveryday.com/2017/10/10/mr-robot-season-3-everything-to-know-before-the-premiere/
'Mr. Robot' Season 3: Everything to Know Before the Premiere
ā€œMind awake, body asleep. Mind awake, body asleep.ā€
The soothing mantra of the hauntingly talented hacker Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) has likely been ringing in the ears of Mr. Robot fans ever since the Sam Esmail thriller shut down its operations (and very nearly shut down its main character) at the end of season two more than a year ago. Now, ā€œStage Twoā€ of the Dark Army and Mr. Robotā€™s (Christian Slater) plan is on the cusp of execution, just in time for the launch of season three on Oct. 11.
Of course, those notions are as alien as the techno-jargon found throughout the series for anyone who hasnā€™t given Mr. Robot much thought in the year since it aired its most recent episode. But considering the incredibly dense nature of the storytelling (the USA Network drama rarely spells anything out for its viewers, and the season three premiere expects fans to remember the events of this complicated tale in great detail), itā€™s crucial to remember where everything stands as we prepare to return to a world living in the aftermath of the Five/Nine Hack ā€” at least, a better memory than the one Elliot himself is forced to work with.
For a truly deep dive into the current standing of Mr. Robot, we invited you to listen to the first episode of our new podcast covering the series, a collaboration with Post Show Recaps hosts Josh Wigler (thatā€™s me!) and Antonio Mazzaro. All season long, weā€™ll be providing podcast primers on every episode, starting here with an overview of the series and a table-setting for the season ahead:
In addition to whatā€™s covered in the podcast, read on for some of the fundamentals of what you need to know heading into the new era of Mr. Robot.
1. Itā€™s a Tangled Web
Where do we even begin as we attempt to untangle the events of the past two seasons? Itā€™s best to start at the big season one headline: Elliot Alderson, a distressed but incredibly gifted individual, secretly boasts a Hyde to his Jekyll in the form of Mr. Robot, a second personality who takes on the likeness of Elliotā€™s late father. The two personalities are at war with one another, with Robot intent on overhauling the world through militant revolution, and Elliot intent on preventing himself from causing lasting harm. Through two seasons, the Robot side of Elliot has scored the lionā€™s share of the victories, all but fully bringing down the global conglomerate E Corp (alternately known in Elliotā€™s worldview as Evil Corp) through a massive attack known as the Five/Nine Hack, and now on the edge of instituting a second stage of that plan ā€” appropriately called ā€œStage Two.ā€Ā
Thereā€™s a lot more to keep in mind, between Darlene (Carly Chaikin) getting burned and cornered by the dogged Dom DiPierro (Grace Gummer) of the FBI; Angelaā€™s (Portia Doubleday) apparent indoctrination into the mysterious Dark Army; and the boiling feud between two of the most powerful individuals in the world, Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer) and Whiterose (BD Wong). At the heart, however, itā€™s most critical to understand that the rivalry between the two sides of Elliot has escalated tremendously, thanks to the big season two cliffhangerā€¦
2. The Key Word
When season three begins, thereā€™s one buzz word to keep in mind: ā€œdisintegration.ā€ Thatā€™s how Esmail and others involved in the series describe the relationship between Elliot and Mr. Robot this year, or lack thereof. Season two ended with the Mr. Robot side of Elliotā€™s personality proving his commitment to his cause by inviting a gunshot wound, potentially taking him off the playing field, but at least keeping the operation in motion. Season two also concluded with confirmation that Elliot survived the injury (itā€™s hard, if not outright impossible to imagine this show existing without Elliot in the hub of it), but the damage is done: Elliot and Robotā€™s alliance, as much as one ever really existed, has been blown to bits, thanks to a single bullet.Ā
Beyond Elliot and Robotā€™s dynamic, expect other relationships to disintegrate in their own right, whether thatā€™s Elliot and DarleneĀ ā€”Ā due to her precarious situation with Dom and the FBIĀ ā€”Ā or Angela and Phillip PriceĀ ā€”Ā due to her potential newfound loyalty with WhiteroseĀ ā€”Ā as just two of many potential examples.
3. Americaā€™s Most Wanted
Season three stands to bring one of the most important figures in the showā€™s mythology out of the shadows and back into the light: Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrƶm), once on track to become the youngest Chief Technology Officer in E Corp history until a string of self-sabotaging acts turned him into the most wanted man alive. One of them, at least. Tyrell was an instrumental player in the Five/Nine Hack, teaming up with Elliot ā€” or Robot, more accurately ā€” and then disappearing into the ether, almost completely unseen during season two.
The season two finale finally brought Tyrell back into the fold, as it was revealed he wasnā€™t secretly dead, as Robot tried to convince Elliot. But where exactly was Tyrell over the course of the season, and what exactly has he been into in the time since his disappearance from the public eye? Weā€™re bound to find out this year, as Mr. Robot canā€™t get away with keeping Tyrell in the dark for much longer. Keep an eye out on the inevitable reunion between Tyrell and his wife Joanna (Stephanie Corneliussen), one of the most intimidating character on the show.
4. The Rose Blooms
Another power player from Robot lore set for an expanded role this season: BD Wongā€™s Whiterose. Or is it Minister Jiang? Depends on the day and occasion. The veteran actor plays one of the single most fascinating and powerful characters in the series, as both the head of the Dark Army hacker group as well as Chinaā€™s Minister of State Security. In her private moments, she seems to prefer the Whiterose moniker, so thatā€™s where weā€™ll settle as well ā€” but thatā€™s about the extent of our confidence when it comes the time-obsessed figure, who comes equipped with some of the most destructive potential of anyone on the show.
ā€œFirst of all, every trans character on television creates a dialogue about trans people, which is super valuable,ā€ Wong previously told The Hollywood Reporter about playing Whiterose. ā€œWe need to get people with the program about what trans people even fucking are. Those of us who embrace trans people, like myself, forget that it doesnā€™t come easily for people. Here is a character that, for all intents and purposes ā€” there is a poetry of Samā€™s utilization of this character as trans ā€” is rather symbolic. What I mean is that he really wants to discuss in a big way on the show the power dynamics associated with gender. Thereā€™s a great challenge in being a powerful woman in a powerful white manā€™s world.ā€
5. Cannavale Games
And now, a new player enters the arena: Bobby Cannavale, of Vinyl, Boardwalk Empire, Oz, and several other films and shows that arenā€™t associated with HBO. Given the secrecy surrounding the story of Mr. Robot, itā€™s not a shock that thereā€™s very little information we currently know about Cannavaleā€™s character ā€” but as the only new series regular on the board (Wongā€™s promotion notwithstanding), and given the caliber of actor enlisted for the role, itā€™s safe to say Cannavaleā€™s presence will loom large throughout season three.
With that said, hereā€™s what we do know: Cannavale is playing a used car salesman named Irving. Really, thatā€™s the full extent of what we know. We can make some leaps from there ā€” that perhaps Irving is involved in the mysterious car drama surrounding Tyrell Wellickā€™s disappearance, for one thing; or that whatever heā€™s selling, itā€™s not all that itā€™s cracked up to be. However he factors into the narrative, Irving stands out as the most intriguing new element in the mix.
6. A Slimmer Robot
Season two of Mr. Robot clocked in at 12 episodes, many of them equipped with extended runtimes. Between Elliotā€™s initial incarceration through the first two-thirds of the season, as well as the expanded focus on the greater ensemble, the second year of the award-winning series felt fuller than its first season ā€” for better or for worse, depending on your outlook.
But season three aims to bring the series back to basics, at least in terms of how it will unfold: a lean 10 episode order, the same amount of installments as seen in season one. Given the current complexity of the narrative, can Mr. Robot accomplish all of its season three business with only ten episodes? Thatā€™s one of the big questions heading into the season ā€” but it also presents the possibility for a leaner and tighter thrill-ride than anything the show has put forth before, both an exciting and daunting prospect to consider.
7. The Loose Ends
How will Darlene escape the FBIā€™s wrath? What are Angelaā€™s true motives? Should we be worried about Trenton and Mobley, the fsociety hackers last seen in Arizona fielding an unexpected visit from the deadly Dark Army agent Leon, played by Joey Badass? Are we really delving into questions of time travel and parallel universes, as Whiterose has seemingly intimated? And what exactly is inside the Washington Township power plant? Really, the list of lingering questions still in the mix for Mr. Robot is vast, but season three stands ready to tie up at least a few of those loose ends ā€” and at the end of the day, it all comes back to the man (or men) in the title.
ā€œIā€™ve looked back on the second season and Iā€™ve seen a lot of similarities with The Empire Strikes Back, in terms of Luke/Elliot going away and isolating themselves, while their sister is out there and battling the evil empire,ā€ Esmail previously told THR about how he views the road ahead for season three. ā€œI think this is the return of Elliot. Season three, and the way Iā€™ve been thinking about it, is sort of the return to Elliot ā€” but not the naive Elliot we saw at the beginning of the season. Itā€™s the Elliot weā€™ve seen go through this horrific experience from the first and second seasons, and with all of that in mind, thatā€™s going to make this new Elliot come into fruition in the next season.
Bonus: One Last Listen
Still looking for ways to catch up ahead of season three? Once again, we have you covered on the podcast front, with a second preview show ā€” this one guiding you through 18 key scenes from the series you ought to watch in order to freshen up on all things Robot.
Follow THR.com/MrRobot for interviews, news, podcasts and more all season long. Mr. Robot returns Oct. 11.

MR. ROBOT REWATCH, 2x04:Ā ā€œeps2.2_init_1.asecā€
-Wait, so Darlene got their fsociety mask at a 99-cent store and they just decided that would be their logo?
-Also, where was Darlene before this? Elliot asked her when she got back to town, so how long has she been gone?
-What does Init 1 mean?
-So, how long ago was this? Cause Elliot mentioned he was seeing a shrink, who I'm assuming is Krista.
-Seeing Elliot in the Mr. Robot jacket and fsociety mask is kind of creepy.
-Wait, so is wearing the jacket and mask start Elliot's split?
-So, you're telling me Darlene didn't find any of that weird or suspicious?
-Were those people wearing gas masks on the subway?
-Dude is that person just sitting on the train lost in VR.
-Damn Darlene, really?
-Also, when I first watched this, how did I not see the twist coming when their mom doesn't acknowledge Darlene or vice versa.
-Well shit, I hope none of them try to come back to the arcade.
-Okay, I don't like this guy. I mean, I see where they're coming from, but trust Dom will ya?
-Joanna, he's worried about his life. Unless you can guarantee his safety, then anything you say isn't worth shit to him.
-So, did Angela turn those guys in or did Price?
-I don't get what Ray's angle is. I mean, I know he wants Elliot to help him do something, but I feel like he's up to something else.
-Okay, so Angela gave the stuff to her lawyer friend?
-So, Elliot & Robot are going to play chess to see who gets control?
-So, he's openly talking about Mr. Robot to Krista?
-Krista wants to talk to Mr. Robot?
-See I also think Elliot's afraid of what Robot would do or say to Krista.
-WHITEROSE!! Oh, how I've missed your face.
-How involved is Price in all this? Also, how much does he know about?
-I need to know more about Whiterose!!
-Whoa, why is Joanna visiting Scott?
-Oh, for Tyrell's money.
-Damn, Joanna, are you really willing to throw Tyrell under the bus like that?
-Okay, Scott don't punish an innocent baby who didn't even ask to be here.
-Who is following Darlene?!
-Was that Cisco?
-Okay, it was Cisco. What does he want?
-Cisco is right. Elliot needs to know about Romero being murdered.
-Really? In the bar bathroom?
Tumblr media
-But how do you know no one talked to the FBI Darlene? Have you been watching everyone like a hawk?
-Yeah, Darlene, this is some serious shit. You should have listened to Elliot earlier when he told you to back off.
-Darlene: "How the fuck did this happen?" Cisco: "You seriously asking that?" SAME CISCO!!
-Damn that was an abrupt cut.
-Wait, did Leon finish watching all of Seinfeld?
-Bro, Leon so philosophical and I kind of love it.
-Damn Joanna, way to crush a guy's dreams.
-Okay, I get your point Joanna, but you could have said it in a way that didn't make this guy feel like shit.
-I love that even in Elliot's imagination he's always wearing the same cloths.
-God, I really wish this dream of his could be real. Elliot deserves this kind of happiness.
-Fuck, we're actually going to play chess.
-It's always going to be a stalemate because they both want to win, right?
-Oh shit, Angela's confronting Price.
-Okay, you may not be wrong Angela, but he's not going to give you what you want.
-Oh shit, I don't think Robot even knew Elliot was going to help Ray.
-So, is Elliot agreeing just so that he can get computer access?
-What is your online business Ray?
-Ray, you should have never said that because now you've just made Elliot curious.
-Shit, Darlene you can't just dump all that on Elliot like that.
-HACKING THE FBI?!

Missing pieces of the story
Finally! We learn what happened the night of the hack and what Elliot was arrested for and how he landed in jail. All the missing pieces in a flashback episode.
We learn that Mr Robot did try to shoot Tyrell Wellick but failed because the gun left in popcorn jammed. This was chance but Tyrell takes this as sign of fate. His life has just fallen apart - heā€™s been fired and is wanted for murder - and then he just stumbled onto world changing event. An event that gives him revenge on people who just humiliated him. And Ā  then he survives being shot at point blank. Itā€™s Ā clearly a religious experience for him. He has found a cause and a person to fixate upon.
So now he becomes a crusader for Elliotā€™s cause (or rather Mr Robotā€™s but he doesnā€™t know that until Angela tells him much later). No wonder he's so obsessed with Elliot - he thinks it's Godā€™s will. And he spends his time in a different kind of jail working on furthering Mr Robot plan of destroying all the remaining copies of E Corp data. And chopping wood. And meeting various Dark Army operatives.
Because itā€™s Dark Army that whisked him away and kept him safe all this time. Temporary scapegoat everyone will concentrate on looking for while real people behind 5/9 are hidden. But they were also working on rehabilitating him because he is useful (blame it on Iranians).
This is Whiterose doing damage control. She sent Leon to protect Elliot and made sure he was released early. And got Darlene all she needed for the cause - from Cisco to femtocell. Even Trump is Whiterose fault. In Mr Robot universe China, not Russia, is responsible for rule of this stupid asshole.
We also see how deep Whiterose influence goes. Frank from Letā€™s Be Frank With Frank Cody we saw from last season to Joannaā€™s interview last week is working for her.Ā  And I knew Dom's boss was suspicious when he survived that shooting so itā€™s nice to finally see it confirmed - he is Whiteroseā€™s lackey too.
And since this is flashback we get to see one last moment between Darlene and Cisco. He wants to leave but she is still on her damage control phase just asking for femtocell. Someday, when itā€™s all done they can go and run away to Budapest. Someday. No wonder she is so devastated by his death. They almost made it and now she blames herself for not doing it sooner.
And some final things are clarified. Cisco did start that relationship for Dark Army but we all know she has not been a job for him for very long. They warn him but itā€™s been too late long ago. But they also say she was protected. So she didnā€™t survive that shooting by chance. Unlike Cisco Darlene was not to be touched.
And lastly - Leon take on that time he saved Elliot from the attack - murder is bad but heā€™ll make an exception for stubbing neo-Nazis. I donā€™t know where this shocking stance in media about killing Nazis being OK is coming from. Must be something in zeitgeist.

Betrayal and loneliness
Darleneā€™s guilt - Ciscoā€™s death (she looks up that trip to Budapest), spying on Elliot, the whole economic breakdown not to mention killing - is seeping out and she admits her crimes to random people but she still can lie to the best of them. But of course Elliot wants to believe sheā€™s on his side. Because even he needs someone to trust and despite everything he wants his sister to be there for him. He even apologises for shutting her out. And for Mr. Robot. So she guilts him for Mr Robotā€™s actions and then pushes him to tell her what is going on. And when he does she agrees to help him to spy on his other self. The one taking over and meeting with Angela.
This is Elliotā€™s support system. Angelaā€™s pretending she is on Elliotā€™s side but sheā€™s really working for Mr. Robot and with Dark Army. And Darlene is pretending to be on Elliotā€™s side but really she is working against the Dark Army and for FBI. They are both lying to him but at least Darlene is actually against Mr. Robot. The creation she helped to emerge and whose goals she helped to devise. Just like Elliot himself she realised the price for the revolution is too great and she wants out. The problem is that this will involve destroying Elliots trust and she will lose the last person she has. That goodbye broke my heart a little.
Tyrellā€™s lost his faith and he fell hard. Real Elliot is a big let down after all these months obsessing over the version he built up in his mind. Love became hate once he understood they are not going to be gods together. That the man he fell for was nothing but an overlay on someone he doesnā€™t care for and canā€™t even stand. But Irving props him with pep talk and lies. Promises him godhood and Joanna and life for his family in Ukraine. None of this is can be done so I have a feeling that once this is all done so is Tyrell. But Irving gets Tyrell to pull a solution to make the phase two follow Whiteroseā€™s timetable. We all know how she is about time.
And Dom got a lead on fsociety but she knows the Iranian thing is Dark Army set up. A way to distract the FBI from what is going on. She suspects the ultimate boogiewoman - the Whiterose. And no one believes or listens to her. But at least she has a forced moment with Darlene who wants to bond before she betrays Elliot. And her childhood friend Angela.
Angela who noticed what Elliot was doing with shipments and now is keeping him away by any means necessary. She makes sure Mr Robot in charge until Monday and stage two so Elliot canā€™t mess up any more plans. Angela who pulls strings with Price to get Elliot fired and out of E Corp system access (he is agreeing to his companyā€™s grave). She is committed to this even though Elliot knows because he managed to emerge and catch her with Wellick. She lies to herself that he may not remember. She lets Irving lie to her that no one will die. Because she wants to believe in a higher cause. In the promises Whiterose fed her. In making everything right. The price is only her soul.
But somewhere out there Mobley and Trenton found a way to decode the E Corp data and fix everything. Can they save the world or did Leon kill them? (I did not forgot that plot show.)
