things from the 2001 television programme band of brothers that haunt me to this day:
- we’re paratroopers lieutenant, we’re supposed to be surrounded. not to be your 60 year old military obsessed uncle about it but that line goes hard
- nix’s little giggle he does sometimes
- I’ll never forgive them for leaving gene’s medic training out of their training montage. in fact you know what? go back in time, film a parallel sequel of the other 9 eps from gene’s pov
- popeye’s “they called you guys too?” and the way his accent specifically scratches my brain
- they gave me moose heyliger and his massachusetts accent for like 20 minutes then the narrative snatched him away from me and i still miss him
- the way meehan looks at winters after he tells him to close the flap, in fact let’s talk about how every single one of winters’ commanders are obsessed with him in one way or another he truly is the it girl
- the chaos and fear that precedes gene and the calm and comfort that follows him
- I know everyone thinks “we’ll go to chicago, I’ll take you there” is the insane line but the one that actually makes me lose sleep is “what, and give up all this?” THAT MAN SAID I WOULD RATHER LIVE THROUGH THE HORRORS OF WAR THAN HAVE LIVED MY LIFE WITHOUT YOU
- alley is So Beautiful and I don’t think we collectively talk about it enough
- babe being some rando replacement in episode three and whilst his other replacement friends are being absolutely roasted he is immediately adopted by bill and then gets gene fucking roe of all people to connect to him?? he’s too powerful I need to study him
- speirs being this ghoulish terrifying boogeyman until lip is anywhere near him then he’s suddenly dimples and kicking his feet and giggling
- speaking of lip and speirs their little sarcastic in jokes, lip finishing speirs’ sentences fml it’s giving married
- you been working out? IN FRONT OF EVERYONE?? LIEB YOU SLUT?? THEN YOURE GONNA LAY IN HIS BED WAITING FOR HIM??? insane behaviour
- the unexplored but high potential friendships and the way I wanted like 16 more episodes for shifty and lip, nix and luz, nix and web, sisk and perconte, winters and gene, grant and tab, lieb and alley, speirs and harry, etc
- the more haggard and bitchy nix gets the hotter he gets. he also must be studied.
- “you should pack up those ears and go home” ok sobel kinda ate with that one ngl
- speaking of sobel the little confused/bewildered/piss-pants faces he makes david schwimmer the actor you are
- the silly little wide stance pennywise ass run hall does before he gets murked RIP king
- klepto speirs ilysm
- joe toye and his brass knuckles are v sexy
- sink letting nix give winters his oak leaves was very shipper girl of him
- lip harry nix speirs winters in the eagle’s nest dream blunt rotation
- the unsustainable amount of cunt served by nix, frank, babe, and luz at all times is truly a marvel
- tab really checked lip’s dick and balls mid battle and honestly that’s friendship
- bit parts for simon pegg, tom hardy, andrew scott, james mcavoy, michael fassbender, jimmy fallon ?? bob casting director you will always be famous
- peacock is so fine if he was even a little good at his job I’d be obsessed with him (special shout out to the scene of him getting sent home on furlough)
- I could list out every one of their meaningful little moments together but really it’s babe and gene just tethering and grounding each other and how they seem to gravitate to each other out of blind instinct? that’s some Brontë whatever our souls are made of bullshit I’m afraid
- ok I know I said I wasn’t talking about little meaningful moments but gene staring across the convent at where babe is sitting, lost in the peace
-bull in replacements getting imprinted on by a bunch of baby ducks and being SO PLEASED ABOUT IT he’s not the stepfather, he’s the father that stepped up
- speaking of, the underutilization of bull in the back half is such an out of character bad call
- you are officers, you are grown ups, you oughta know. HE’S RIGHT AND HE SHOULD SAY IT AND THAT’S ON GENE BEING THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO TELL OFF WINTERS
- I know nix and winters are married and whatever but the real married couple behaviour is luz constantly pissing off joe and joe immediately letting it go
- lip and speirs and their mutual competency kink
- I’M REAL SORRY FRANK skinny ilysm

Twins Announce Non-Roster Invitees
C David Banuelos, C Jair Camargo, C Chance Sisco, C Grayson Greiner, C Chris Williams, C Tony Wolters, 1B Aaron Sabato, IF Michael Helman, IF Andrew Bechtold, IF Austin Martin, IF Brooks Lee, IF Elliot Soto, IF Tyler White, UTIL Willi Castro, OF Mark Contreras, OF Ryan LaMarre, LHP Danny Coulombe, LHP Evan Sisk, RHP Jose De Leon, RHP Randy Dobnak, RHP Blayne Enlow, RHP Cody Laweryson, RHP Patrick Murphy, RHP Austin Schulfer, RHP Brock Stewart
The Twins have annnounced the non-roster invitee list for 2023 Spring Training. Tony Wolters, Chance Sisco, and Grayson Greiner headline the catchers in a team in need of depth at that position. Wolters has lots of big league experience and should get called up if Ryan Jeffers or Christian Vazquez get hurt. Aaron Sabato, Brooks Lee and Austin Martin are big time prospects. Tyler White and Elliot Soto are veteran utility infielders. I’m surprised that Mark Contreras is back because he proved that he can play at three outfield spots and hit a bit in the big leagues. Ryan LaMarre is back for I believe his third go around with the team. Danny Coulombe has looked good as another lefty-handed option with Caleb Thielbar, but had a hip issue where he missed most of 2022. Evan Sisk has an odd arm angle and I love watching him pitch for the Saints. Randy Dobnak is back because the Twins owe him money. Austin Schulfter throws hard and Blayne Enlow cleared waivers to make room on the 40-man roster. Patrick Murphy has struck out nearly a batter per inning over three Major League seasons. Pitchers and catchers report on February 16th.

Learning to Fly: Chapter 10
Back to the weyr room for them all as the sleepiness of early morning had gotten to the boys more than it should have. Some of them chose to lay out in the sun that hit the ledges, but unlike the rest of them, Chuck Tatum had other ideas.
He flopped right back into his bed, letting the sun hit his face and sinking into its deep warmth. Out of all the spots in the entire weyr, this was without a doubt the best one. He curled himself up, his hands resting beneath his head and his ears growing warmer and warmer as he felt himself sinking further into that blissful state of pure stillness.
He didn’t know how long he had been asleep before he was once again startled awake by the loud, shuddering call of a horn coming from across the Weyr. One followed after the other in quick succession until the mountains seemed to quake under the loud bass calls.
“C’mon you guys let’s go! That’s our call!!” Andy bellowed as he ran about, knocking on the doors or rousing the others from their activities.
Tatum hadn’t even realized what time it was until he looked at the large sundial on the other side of the room. High noon…..when Chesty said that they were to be brought to the hatching grounds.
The boys were ordered to strip themselves of their shirt jackets and wear only their sage green, mud brown or desert khaki pants and t-shirts. Out into the corridors they went with Dick and Nix at the head, hurrying through the rushing sea of people that were all headed in the same direction towards the hatching grounds.
John saw the nervous expressions on both Tatum and Evanson’s faces, both of them looking like they would be sick. “You two scared?” he asked.
The boys shook their heads.
“I said are you scared?”
They shook their heads again, not wanting to give away what they were really thinking.
“You lying sacks of shit,” he chuckled putting his hands on their shoulders. “You’re scared, I can tell. But whatever happens on those hatching grounds, don’t worry. I’ll look after you both.”
Tatum and Evanson felt the tension releasing itself, but just a little. They were grateful to have a friend like John Basilone. But the closer they got to the Hatching Grounds, the worse the fear became. Something deep down told them that these dragons wouldn’t play nice and if they didn’t, neither would the boys.
The loud, thunderous calls of the horns continued to echo off the rock walls in the weyr along with the roars of the dragons who followed their masters. The boys hurried along until a rider ordered them to head for the caverns. A few of them faltered out of fear, stopping dead in their tracks and desperate to turn back.
“Guys come on we have to keep moving!” Dick ordered.
Skinny, Tipper, Webster and Shifty hesitated a little before they finally came to their senses and followed Dick. One by one they made their way down the cold stone steps and into the dimly lit cavern to wait. The place was big enough for all of them to fit, standing shoulder to shoulder with only a few pressed against the hard rock walls. They could hear the roar of the crowds tangling together with the dragons, males and females who bellowed and screeched, beckoning for the population of the weyr to come and join them in the hatching.
“Oh-ho man! Is this gonna be fucking awesome!” Ray laughed. “We finally get to tame these fuckin dinosaurs as our own!”
“Ray shut up,” Martin ordered.
“What? A guy can’t be happy?” Ray said teasingly.
“Just…..shut the fuck up please,” Martin told him.
“Ok have it your way homes,” Ray said. “Sheesh…..what bug crawled up your leg and bit you in the balls this morning?”
“One more word Ray and your toes are getting squished!” Dick snapped.
Ray finally ceased his chatter and the boys all went silent. Listening for their cue to go in. Never before had they felt such terror, waiting with knuckle-whitening anticipation for something to happen. Walt, Tatum, Evanson and a few others swallowed back the urge to throw up while Sledge silently prayed for it all to go smoothly.
“Aw shit,” Snafu drawled, his face suddenly going ashen and pale.
“What’s wrong?”
“I think I’ma be sick.”
Snafu wretched into the dirt, prompting disgusted groans from the others along with a string of curses. Sledge shut out the noise and tried his best to keep himself from being sick. The roaring of the crowd grew louder and louder, soon reaching fever pitch as the stone doors began to open.
“Here we go boys!!” Eddie shouted over the noise.

I will write smutty preferences.
I WILL NOT write ANY triggering content (cutting, suicide, abuse, etc.) This is meant to be fun and I don’t feel comfortable writing something like that.
I have the right to refuse to write anything that I choose for whatever reason.
Check my masterlist and request list before asking me to write something.
I may take some time to write these (I’m a working college student in a rigorous pre-nursing program) so be patient.
Feel free to ask me anything!

Minnesota Twins-St. Louis Cardinals Series Preview
7.30.21-Griffin Jax RHP (1-1) 7.48 ERA Vs. Wade LeBlanc LHP (0-2) 4.58 ERA
7.31.21-Bailey Ober RHP (1-1) 5.19 ERA Vs. Jake Woodford RHP (2-2) 4.25 ERA
8.1.21-Michael Pineda RHP (4-5) 3.86 ERA Vs. TBA
The Twins At A Glance- The Twins made a few trade deadline deals, but weren’t as busy as some experts though. Jose Berrios was traded to the Blue Jays for Austin Martin and Simeon Woods Richardson. Hansel Robles was traded the Red Sox for Alex Scherff. JA Happ was traded to the Cardinals for John Gant and Evan Sisk. The team looks to move on from a crazy three-game series from the Tigers. The Twins blew a three-run lead on Monday then came back in the tenth to win, they blew a four-run lead on Tuesday and lost, and lost a 17-14 wild game in the series finale. Miguel Sano had a good series this week. He hit 6-for-13 with two homers and five RBI’s. Ryan Jeffers hit two homers on Wednesday as the team hit seven homers in all. Mitch Garver suffered a hand injury on Tuesday night when he got hit by a pitch. He should be available this weekend in St. Louis. Luis Arraez has been doing some workouts as he works his way back. He’s also taken groundballs at first base as he tries to be more versatile. Rob Refsnyder is still on a rehab assignment and I expect the Twins to use all twenty days for him. He is out of options and would need to clear waivers to stay in the organization. The Twins bullpen is in shambles with Taylor Rogers out with a sprained middle finger on his pitching hand. Hansel Robles got traded, so maybe Tyler Duffey gets the save opportunities for now. Danny Coulombe, Jorge Alcala, and Alex Colome will be given some higher leverage situations now.
The Cardinals At A Glance- The Cardinals are in a weird spot at (51-51) at the trade deadline. St. Louis split a pair of games in Cleveland and had Monday and Thursday off this week. The Cards picked up Jon Lester and JA Happ to bolster an injury plagued starting rotation. Jack Flaherty, Daniel Ponce de Leon, and Miles Mikolas are on rehab assignments and working their way back. The Cardinals have been hitting alright this year. They traded for Nolan Arenado, who has hit twenty homers and driven in sixty-one runs. Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O’Neill have seventeen homers each. Harrison Bader is back after missing a couple months with a rib injury. He is hitting .293 on the year. The Cardinals starting rotation has a 4.14 ERA, which is right in the middle of Major League Baseball. The bullpen is also middle of the road. Alex Reyes is having a great year as the closer with a 1.93 ERA and twenty-four saves. Giovanny Gallegos, Andrew Miller, and Genesis Cabrera help set him up.
What To Watch For- The Twins won three of four games last season against the Cardinals. The Twins swept a two-game series at Target Field before the Cardinals COVID outbreak then split a doubleheader right after Labor Day. The Twins are (20-17) all-time against the Cardinals. Michael Pineda has one career start against the Cardinals, where he allowed two runs over seven innings of work. Wade LeBlanc has a 4.86 ERA in six games against the Twins. Josh Donaldson has two career homers off LeBlanc. The Cardinals are undecided about their pitching plans for Saturday and Sunday. They acquired JA Happ and Jon Lester in separate trades. Happ just has to walk to the other clubhouse this weekend in a unique situation. I remember Doug Mientkiewicz was traded to the Red Sox when they were playing at the Metrodome in 2004. Joe Ryan started for Team USA on Monday morning. He threw six solid innings and allowed a run in the win. Simeon Woods Richardson is also on Team USA and Nick Martinez will get the start on Saturday.
